Hey virtual community,

Hope you guys are doing well, hope you're ready for another video

of " Lets talk drugs with Carolanne Campeau"

Me !

So what are we talking about this week, we are talking about

PURPLE DRANK ! Do you know what that is ? No, well, if you don't

and if you have teenagers around you at work, or at home,

well, it's time to listen up !

Open your ears wide and listen to this info !

I have been asked multple times what is this drink ?

What's the mystery ? What are the risks ? All of that !

It's a drink that teenagers drink

with friends or at school.

It has many names, like LEAN,

PURPLE DRANK, PURPLE DRINK, SYZZURP, OR SYRUP !

If you know of any other names,

you can send them to me, but honestly it's already a good list.

So there are many names for this same drink.

But what is it ? And where does it come from ? Well, surprisingly

it has already existed for quite a while,

through some research I found that it originated

in Texas a while back

in the 60's or those...

hippie years !

So in those years, blues singers invented

a mix of alcohol like

beer or wine

mixed with cough syrup,

Codeine contaning Robitussin cough syrup.

This mix of substances was used

by Blues artists in those days.

It's actually pretty funny that

it's called Purple Drink,

since it's a drink that is purple in color,

but that the inventors were Blues singers...

would've made more sense to call it Blue Drink, but hey...

they didn't think of it...

So, it wasn't used for a couple years,

we didn't hear about it and then in the 80's

it made a come-back through the Hip Hop community

This is why our teenagers

hear about it today through rap songs

and hip hop music, where they

explain how to make it, the ingredients

necessary to make the Purple drank,

it's the subject of many songs,

so some of our teens are used to hearing this

and in the last 3 years,

I've been hearing about it in the high schools I visit.

So, I researched this drink to find out the risks,

that is what we must know since our teens can

find out how to make it

just by looking on the internet,

but the risks are never put center stage.

But, we must know this information, especially if we work in high schools

or if we have teens at home, it's better to know the facts and be warned !

So the risks are there because of the Codeine that

is mixed in, the cough syrup,

which is usually mixed in with Sprite

and sometimes with alcohol, and now

the new and improved 2018 version includes energy drinks

and finally candy that they mix in to change the color of the drink.

and

Codeine is in the Opiate Family !

What does that mean ? Well, it means that

it slows down the nervous system.

It's actually in the same family as Morphine, Heroine, and Fentanyl.

I've actually talked a lot about Fentanyl lately.

So, it's in the same family and the problem is

that the stimulant, which is the Cafeine

that they now include in the mix,

the Cafeine will mask the effect of the Codeine,

and also mask the effect of the alcohol,

the teen will continue drinking without realizing

that he is going over his limit and becoming intoxicated.

It is similar to the explanation of the risks in my video on

FOUR LOKO

The risks are all very similar.

It can lead to a coma, an alcohol induced coma

or an overdose caused by the Codeine.

Since, if there is Codeine in the syrup,

it can lead to

other problems such as nausea,

vomiting,

it can also cause a loss of memory,

or convulsions, and it can

slow down a persons breathing and heart beat to the point where

it causes a heart attack.

The signals in the body slow down until it just stops.

and like I said earlier, the Cafeine makes the teen not realize what is happening

until it is too late

and the risks of overdose increase,

so be warned and warn others about the risks.

If your teens talk to you about it, you will know, if they don't,

they are probably better off not knowing it exists!

But it's always better to be informed

about what is circulating in their environment.

Which Blender is Best? - Duration: 3:19.

Hey it's Logan Christopher from lost Empire Herbs and we received a question about

what is the best blender out there. I can't really say for sure what is the

best. It really depends on what you're looking for. So you're actually looking

at my personal blender supply. Yes, I have three blenders. And I use each one of

these, actually use all three of them but for different purposes. So I thought I'd

take a few moments to talk about that. On the left here you can see the Magic

Bullet, in the middle we have the Nutribullet, then we have the Vitamix.

We'll start with the Magic Bullet. Well this thing is the cheapest blender that

there is. Really close to it I think 20-30 dollars or something depending on the

set, maybe a little bit more than that. What I use this blender for and, first

let me say, first of all, all these are plastic which is unfortunate really hard

to find. I don't know if there even is a blender that does not use plastic that

would be best but it'd be hard to make a container like this of glass that would

really work for a blender. So they use high quality plastic still it's plastic

so not the best thing. What I use this, the Magic Bullet over here for, is when I

am making coffee off can do it the bulletproof style so having the butter

in there. Really it doesn't have the same effects if it's not blended. I could use

some other devices maybe I'll look into that but this is great for a personal

cup of coffee. So that's where I use it, making that bulletproof style coffee

with herbs added on top of it. Got other videos talking about which herbs I like

for that. But that's how I primarily use the Magic Bullet.

Now the Nutribullet, I'll use this more for, sometimes a post-workout shake. I

don't always do this and I mix it up in different ways and sometimes I have

shakes other times. But something like a can of coconut milk, your fruit or vegetables,

different nerves you may throw in there, protein powders, all kinds of things. This

gives like a meal sized beverage when you use it. So that's often what I'll use

this for. Now the Vitamix, this as you can see and it does come with a smaller

container too. But I'll use this one when I'm preparing something bigger. This may

be like a stew, something along those lines, or a shake for multiple people, a

much bigger vessel helps with that. It's also the most powerful of these. The

Nutribullet and the Vitamix both very powerful. I'll often use

this as a food processor. If I have some herbs I need to grind up or anything

like that, I'll use this. Also with the tamper here you can make things like

sorbets type of desserts, various things like this. So this is used for a wider

range of different things. While these ones, I'll use for more personal type of

things. Like I said, I don't know if these are the very best blenders on market.

Each one probably has its advantages and disadvantages. This is the cheapest, this

will run somewhere around $100 and the Vitamix,

I've had this thing for years so I actually don't remember how much it cost

but several hundred dollars somewhere in that range. So you have the gamut of

different things. And as I said, use these for different things but the cool thing

is, of course you can add herbs to drinks made with any of these and really any

blender is enough to make some stuff when you're starting out. You don't

necessarily need to lay out hundreds of dollar unless you're really gonna put

the effort into using something like this. I hope this helped and you follow

In the middle of New York City there is a

great big park called Central Park.

Children love to play there.

It has a toy-boat pond where

they can sail their boats.

It has a carousel to ride on in the summer

and an ice rink to skate on in the winter.

Best of all, it has its very own zoo.

Every day families of all kinds go to visit

the animals that live there.

But children and their parents aren't

the only families at the zoo.

The animals make families of their own.

There are red panda bear families,

with mothers and fathers

and furry red panda bear cubs.

There are monkey dads and monkey moms

raising noisy monkey babies.

There are toad families,

and toucan families

and cotton-topped tamarin families too.

And in the penguin house there are penguin families.

Every year at the same time, the girl

penguins start noticing the boy penguins.

And the boy penguins start noticing the girls.

When the right girl and the right boy

find each other, they become a couple.

Two penguins in the penguin house were

a little bit different.

One was named Roy,

and the other was named Silo.

Roy and Silo were both boys.

But they did everything together.

They bowed to each other.

And walked together.

They sang to each other.

And swam together.

Wherever Roy went,

Silo went too.

They didn't spend much time with the girl

penguins, and the girl penguins didn't

spend much time with them.

Instead, Roy and Silo wound their necks

around each other.

Their keeper, Mr. Gramzay noticed the two

penguins and thought to himself,

"They must be in love."

Roy and Silo watched how the other

penguins made a home. So they built a

nest of stones for themselves.

Every night Roy and Silo slept there

together, just like the other penguin couples.

And every morning Roy and Silo woke up together.

But one day Roy and Silo saw that the

other couples could do something

they could not.

The mama penguin would lay an egg.

She and the papa penguin would take

turns keeping the egg warm

until finally, it would hatch.

And then there would be a baby penguin.

Roy and Silo had no egg

to sit on and keep warm.

They had no baby chick to feed

and cuddle and love.

Their nest was nice,

but it was a little empty.

One day Roy found something that looked

like what the other penguins were

hatching and he brought it to their nest.

It was only a rock,

but Silo carefully sat on it.

And sat...

And sat.

When Silo got sleepy, he slept.

And when Silo was done sleeping and

sitting, he swam and Roy sat.

Day after day Silo and Roy sat on the rock.

But nothing happened.

Then Mr. Gramzay got an idea.

He found an egg that needed to be cared for,

and he brought it to Roy and Silo's nest.

Roy and Silo knew just what to do.

They moved the egg to the center of their nest.

Every day they turned it,

so each side stayed warm.

Some days Roy sat while Silo went for food.

Other days it was Silo's turn

to take care of their egg.

They sat in the morning, and they sat at night.

They sat through lunchtime and swim time

and supper.

They sat at the beginning of the month,

and they sat at the end of the month,

and they sat all of the days in between.

Until one day they heard a sound

coming from inside their egg.

Peep, peep. Peep, peep, it said.

Roy and Silo called back, Squawk, squawk.

Peep, peep, answered the egg.

Suddenly a tiny hole appeared in the egg's shell.

And then...

CRAAAACK!

Out came their very own baby!

She had fuzzy white feathers

and a funny black beak.

Now Roy and Silo were fathers.

"We'll call her Tango," Mr. Gramzay decided,

"because it takes two to make a Tango."

Roy and silo taught Tango how to sing

for them when she was hungry.

They fed her food from their beaks.

They snuggled her in their nest at night.

Tango was the very first penguin in the

zoo to have two daddies.

Soon Tango grew strong enough

to leave the nest.

Roy and Silo took her for a swim,

just like all the other penguin families.

And all the children who came to the zoo

could see Tango and her two fathers

playing in the penguin house

with the other penguins.

"Hooray, Roy!"

"Hooray, Silo!"

"Welcome, Tango!" they cheered.

At night the three penguins

returned to their nest.

There they snuggled together and like all

the other penguins in the penguin house

and all the other animals in the zoo,

and all the families in the big city around them,

they went to sleep.

Former President Barack Obama is planning to hit the campaign trail and fundraise for

Democrats for the 2018 election cycle, giving the party access to the Obama's sprawling

political network.

The former president will mobilize his network of roughly 15,000 campaign alumni around the

nation to help get out the vote and campaign for Democratic candidates as the party looks

to regain control of the House in 2018.

Obama has reportedly already met with Democratic National Committee Chair Tom Perez and former

Attorney General Eric Holder.

Obama won't hit the campaign trail until the fall, when he will begin headlining fundraisers

for down the ballot candidates.

The former president is also expected to make campaign stops in states where competitive

gubernatorial and senatorial races are happening in conjunction with competitive House races.

Politico has more:

"He's going to be out there for candidates, he'll be out there helping us in meaningful

ways, not just in fundraising," Perez said.

"The guy was a state senator in '04, and he was president of the United States four

years later.

He knows something about winning elections and building a brand."

From the morning after Trump's election, Obama has insisted that there would be a direct

relation between how active he was and whether the next generation of Democrats would step

up.

He feels vindicated by how that played out over 2017.

"He's keenly aware that injecting himself into day-to-day politics can make it more

difficult for other Democratic voices to rise to prominence," said Katie Hill, a spokeswoman

for the former president.

"You can expect him to continue weighing in strategically and staying above the fray

while helping cultivate the next generation of Democratic leadership."

This could be great news for Republicans!
