Youtube daily report Feb 9 2018

Welcome to Crombat Rations

As you can see in the title this is Dutch Armed Forces ration

The bag is really big

And here you have a zip-lock

You also have some informations on this paper

Like what's the content of this bag

So you have a basic module

with one more module

And in the bracket it writes "two dried packets", so food inside is freeze dried

It means the you need to add water to prepare the meal

the package looks quite huge

because you need calories in winter conditions that you will spend in cold and snow

you open it easily with zip-lock

the bag is empty, everything is outside

here we have a paper that says we have two dehydrated meals in this package

list of informations in Dutch, English and French. Because English and French are NATO languages

and third language is Dutch

here you can see some short instructions for meal preparations

here you have energy values

and here you have allergies info, if you have any problems

so you know what you can eat and what's best to avoid

so, the meals are Travellunch

well known company that makes this kind of food

and in the first package it's Chicken Korma Curry

Package number two

Instant porridge

Package number three

Fruit muesli

Package number four, Beef Stroganoff with rice

here we have two garbage trash bags

a little zip lock bag with matches

here is another zip lock bag with rest of the stuff like crackers...

In this bag we have paper tissues

two toothpicks

brown biscuits

two packs of fruit biscuits

90 grams each

sugared peanuts... at least I think they are

dextrose tablets with vitamin C

raspberry jam

tuna pate

Mediteranian pate from vegetables, or with vegetables

Ardense pate (liver pate)

Stimorol chewing gum, spearmint ice. You get plenty of them.

Two packs of Rolly toothbrush

you can see on the picture how it works

technology of Western Europe, meh

and the last package

Six bags of sugar. 5 grams each.

Three instant coffee packs

Ice tea - lemonade, peach flavor

pepper

salt

little pack of hot sauce

three coffee whiteners

two packs of cocoa beverage powder

Lemonade - ice tea, orange flavor

tomato soup

three tea bags

beef bouillon for one cup

all this you can see here you get for 24 hours when you are in the field

all this you can see can't freeze, so you can use it even in cold temperatures

now I will separate this in breakfast, lunch and dinner as usual... and let's continue to breakfast

and here we are at breakfast... as you can notice you don't get any cutlery with this food ration

so, Dutch army use something similar to this Bundeswehr cutlery set when you get everything

knife, spoon, fork

however I will use my two favorite spoons

this one is from Australian CR1M ration

and this one is from Russian IRP, that I also like

it's small, but efficient

so, I will use these two today

ice tea?

lemonade?

...with orange flavor... disolve with 200ml of cold water

next it's regular tea, there should be three bags inside if I'm not mistaken

the bag is empty

so we have English Blend, Green tea and Fruit tea

for breakfast I'll take this english one

adding sugar

next it's coffee

you can see how it looks

if you are lucky you can also see this cup is from IKEA, made in Russia

sugar

coffee whitener

instant porridge

as we need some time to prepare this, 3-5minutes

best is to make it now and leave it to redehydrate

you can see the spot where you can open it

and here we have the biggest problem of Travellunch and that is the lack of zip lock

when you add water you bag stays open

and your meal is getting colder

however the good thing is you can spread the bottom of the bag like this

and make some sort of a bowl

so from 125-150ml, we will put less

stir it well

after that you try to close it

so your meal remains hot

second bag also preparation is to wait 3-5 minutes

here we need 100 mil's

of hot water

it opens the same way

here they are, fruit muesli...you can also spread the bottom of the bag

now we add 100 ml's of water

also need to stir well

also try to close it

because Travellunch does not think you should have a zip lock so you can do it easy way

let's open the crackers

I will not open the chewing gum pack, but you can see how much you get

sugared peanuts

let's see am I right or not

it looks like I am

tuna pate

can't see the best before date

this is how the tuna pate looks in Dutch military ration

Ardense pate

some sort of a pate, most likely a liver pate

this one is a Mediteranian pate

I suppose it's from vegetables

or with vegetables

it looks like this, not that great

last thing it's raspberry jam

looks nice, you can see seeds inside of it

let's try the cracker

it's really dry and crumbly, but it tastes good, like...

like some sort of a wheat cracker

let's try the tuna pate

it's really good!

Ardense liver pate

it's not that bad, but I'm not a liver pate lover

let's try Mediteranian pate from vegetables

it taste like vegetable soup with little water

lot's of spices and something similar to Vegeta ( condiment which is a mixture primarily of salt with flavour enhancers, spices and various vegetables)

you can spread it really easy it's so tender

this is excellent, so far I like the most this Mediteranian pate

third place for liver pate

second place for tuna pate, that really isn't that bad at all

let's try the coffee... it's excellent, similar to Nescaffe 3in1

let's try English breakfast tea... it's very pleasant

similar to Indian dark tea

just a bit more gentle then the kinds (of tea) we have in Balkan

let's try the instant porridge... and it looks like this

there was probably some powdered milk that turned into a milk (lol)

as you can see at this side

classic porridge with no taste whatsoever

fruit muesli..instant kind

you just add water

and you get something like this

you have some cereals and fruit

a little bit of everything

still warm, not so fluid... you add just a little bit of water

not that sweet, just as I like it

so, from fruits you have apples, oranges, peaches, and raisins

instant muesli are pretty nice thing in this kind of packages, easy to prepare you just add a little bit of water and you get a decent breakfast

let's try instant tea lemonade with orange flavour

it really is like a half way tea-lemonade only it tastes like orange

you can smell and taste citrus flavors

raspberry jam

like some kind of a jelly

let's try it with cracker like this

really great, like something you could eat back home...homemade...

big plus to Holland for this jam

let's try sugared peanuts

also excellent, not too sweet, still crumbly..so..

super snack

and now the dextrose with vitamin C

probably grape sugar or some other kind of fruit sugar

classic dextrose tablets

you don't need to wait for them to dissolve in your mouth you can bite right into them

nice thing when you feel you are losing strenght, you just take one or two of these and you will feel better

last thing is this paper tissues... just a regular ones

and here are the chewing gums... same company can be found in Russian military rations

AND YEAH HERE THE VIDEO ENDS THANKS FOR WATCHING

Sheehan's Syndrome - causes, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment, pathology - Duration: 5:26.

With Sheehan's syndrome, also sometimes called postpartum pituitary gland necrosis,

"postpartum" refers to the time after a mother gives birth to an infant, "pituitary

gland" refers to a tiny gland that is at the base of the brain, and "necrosis"

refers to death.

So, postpartum pituitary gland necrosis is a disorder where cells in a pituitary gland

of a new mother start to die - most commonly because excess blood loss during childbirth

leaves those cells without adequate blood flow.

It is a rare type of pituitary apoplexy.

During pregnancy, a group of cells in the pituitary gland called lactotrophs start to

increase in size and number.

These lactotrophs secrete the hormone prolactin, and the increased levels of prolactin prepares

the mammary glands to produce milk.

Even though there are more lactotrophs that are larger and more metabolically active,

the blood supply to the pituitary gland remains the same.

So there is an increased blood demand without an increase in supply, making the lactotrophs

hypoperfused.

In other words, the lactotrophs are just barely getting enough oxygenated blood, and they

will become ischemic and die if blood flow is reduced further.

Since there are more metabolically active lactotrophs around, they take up a larger

proportion of the blood that supplies the pituitary gland, this increases the risk of

ischemia in other cells of the pituitary as well.

During the delivery of an infant, some mothers can experience excessive blood loss, which

is called postpartum hemorrhage.

Postpartum hemorrhage is generally defined as losing more than 500ml of blood after a

vaginal delivery or more than 1000ml of blood after a cesarean section delivery.

When this happens, there's less blood flowing to the cells in the pituitary gland.

Coupled with the increased demand for blood by the lactotrophs, the pituitary cells no

longer receive enough oxygen to survive - resulting in ischemic necrosis.

If blood flow isn't restored soon, more and more cells in the pituitary die, and the pituitary

gland progressively shrinks, becomes scarred, and stops producing enough of one or more

of hormones.

In severe cases, severe destruction and scarring can lead to an empty sella turcica which is

when the pituitary gland shrinks and flattens into the skull.

Increased cell death within the pituitary also means that a number of hormone levels

start to fall.

This includes growth hormone, adrenocorticotropic hormone which acts on the adrenal gland, thyroid

stimulating hormone which acts on the thyroid, and the gonadotropins, luteinizing hormone,

and follicle stimulating hormone, which act on the ovaries.

Sheehan's syndrome results in hypopituitarism - a deficiency of the pituitary gland - and

the symptoms are all related to a decrease in various pituitary hormones.

A classic early symptom of Sheehan's syndrome is agalactorrhea, which is not being able

to make as much breastmilk or none at all, because of a lack of prolactin.

Later symptoms include amenorrhea, an absence of a normal menstrual cycle, even after a

period of lactation, which is due to a lack of luteinizing hormone and follicle stimulating

hormone.

Sheehan syndrome can also cause hypothyroidism, which can cause a low blood pressure, cold

intolerance, and weight gain.

It can also lead to low adrenocorticotropic hormone levels and subsequent adrenal gland

insufficiency causing a decrease in sodium and blood glucose levels.

Low growth hormone can lead to fatigue and loss of muscle mass.

In some women, the damage to the pituitary is relatively mild so they have relatively

normal levels of prolactin and don't have trouble with breastfeeding, and instead might

notice the other symptoms months to years after the delivery.

Sheehan's syndrome is typically diagnosed by measuring the pituitary hormones levels

- which usually fall depending on the severity of the ischemic necrosis.

In addition, MRI and CT scans can show ring enhancement or halo around a partially or

completely empty sella turcica, called the 'pituitary ring sign'.

Sheehan's syndrome can be treated by replacing the deficient hormones, and typically they're

needed for a person's entire life.

All right, as a quick recap, in pregnancy the pituitary cells are getting just enough

blood to survive because the lactotrophs increase in size and number, taking up more blood than

usual.

In Sheehan's syndrome, postpartum hemorrhage causes lactotrophs and other cells of the

pituitary to die, resulting in low levels of prolactin, growth hormone, thyroid stimulating

hormone, adrenocorticotropic hormone, luteinizing hormone, and follicle stimulating hormone.

An early symptom is agalactorrhea, whereas late symptoms include amenorrhea, low blood

pressure, low blood sodium, low blood glucose levels, as well as fatigue and muscle loss.

Shakespeare - Sonnet 5 - Read by: Jean Louise O'Sullivan - Duration: 0:58.

Those hours that with gentle work did frame The lovely gaze where every eye doth dwell

Will play the tyrants to the very same, And that unfair which fairly doth excel:

For never resting time leads summer on To hideous winter and confounds him there,

Sap check'd with frost and lusty leaves quite gone, Beauty o'ersnow'd and bareness every where:

Then were not summers distillation left A liquid prisoner pent in walls of glass,

Beauty's effect with beauty were bereft, Nor it nor no remembrance what it was.

But flowers distill'd, though they with winter meet, Leese but their show, their substance still lives sweet.
