Hello everyone.
Welcome to UBM, your one stop for book and TV series reviews.
I've already discussed my theory on why Jon and Dany would go to King's Landing
and whether Jaime will be able to tell Jon and Dany about Cersei's betrayal etc. in
the 1st part of this video.
In this video, I'll discuss the first 2 questions without mentioning any spoilers.
I'll let you know before I start discussing season 8 questions.
So you don't have to worry about running into spoilers.
I'll post my "Is the threat of the whitewalkers a red herring?"

So, let's begin..
3) The third question is asked by Abby Tabby, who said, "I have a question about Viserion.
If he is a wight, how does he not die from his own flame?"
That's a very good question Abby.
Ever since season 7 has ended, it has left us with many questions about Viserion and
the Night King.
If you've watched my Season 7 review videos, and my Night King's magic explained video,
you might remember the charts I made i.e. the Wights Vs. the Whitewalkers chart and
the Wight Dragon vs. the Ice Dragon chart.
I explained in those videos why I thought Viserion was neither a Whitewalker nor an
Ice Dragon.
Instead, he was a Wight Dragon.
And we later saw the proof of that in the season finale.
So we know that Viserion is a wight.
But what about his flames?
Was it fire?
In my opinion, No.
I don't think it was fire.
If it was fire, it would have melted the wall which was made of ice or at least would have
left huge puddles around the place where the wights have crossed into westeros.
But it didn't.
Not to mention the fact that the wights can't stand heat or fire.
So was it ice?
Not exactly.
I'll tell you MY theory now.
So far, we have only seen men or horses or a polar bear come back as wights.
They didn't have any flames or some other kind of magic in them when they died.
The children of the forest did have magic in them, but none of them have turned into
a wight.
So we don't have a precedent for it.
I also discussed how Dragons have their own magic in the first part of this video.
So Viserion is the first creature with his OWN magic who was turned into a wight.
Do you remember my Stark Blood video?
In that video I discussed how Bran the Builder built the wall with the Children of the Forest's
help and how he put the magic spells in both the wall and WF's walls?
Even in the show Benjen Stark tells that "The Wall is not just Ice and Stone.
Ancient spells were carved into its foundations.
Strong magic to protect men from what lies beyond."
We know the wall hadn't just stood for thousands of years because of its size.
In the books, you can see that the wall melts when the day is warm and the black brothers
have to repair the damage sometimes.
But still, it had stood throughout many summers since it was built because of the magic in
it.
Without the magic, it would have just been a regular wall made of ice, which probably
would have melted over time.
So breaking these spells was the only way to break the wall.
Similarly, Viserion was a creature who had the flame and his own magic.
I think Viserion's magic was combined with the Night King's cold magic and was twisted
somehow.
So instead of flames, I think Viserion threw out some kind of cold magic which was blue
in colour.
The Night King needed a way to break through the protective spells the Children of the
forest have put on the wall and he used Viserion for that.
4) The fourth question is from Davey Boy who said, "I wonder if the Mountain can be killed
with Dragonglass?"
The answer is no.
The only reason a dragonglass can kill the wightwalkers is that they are the creatures
of cold, and they can't stand the touch of dragonglass aka frozen fire.
I'll read Melissandre's lines from the books, " Dragonglass.
Frozen Fire, in the tongue of Old Valyria.
Small wonder it is anathema to these cold children of the other."
But Qyburn brought the Mountain back by using some other kind of Necromancy.
The Mountain is not a creature of the Cold, so I don't think Frozen fire would kill
him.
He might be more like the fire wights like Beric or Jon or Lady Stoneheart.
That's probably why he always wears full body armour.
It will also hide the marks from his death or from Qyburn's experiments.
I think the usual methods of killing a man, like decapitation, stabbing etc. should be
enough to kill the Mountain i.e. assuming someone can get close enough to try it.
Anyways, I'm going to discuss some season 8 spoilers now.
So if you don't wanna see any spoilers, you should stop right here.
5) The 5th question is asked by Dragongirl15, who said, "What do you think is going on?
I think the options are she either has him captured or he might go back to KL to try
to convince her of the white walkers and she captures him there?"
While Jon was not technically in chains, and he seemed to walk around freely in King's
Landing, it was obvious that he was kept heavily under guard.
In my Season 8 Set photos video, you can see that he is surrounded by the Knights of Cersei's
Queens guard.
So, I don't think Jon was captured, but he wasn't completely free to leave either.
As Pam I am had pointed out earlier, in the shot where we saw Jon walking with a Man in
Black, who is probably from the Shadow Tower BTW, you can make out a white pommel at his
belt.
It could mean that Jon is there as an ally but is not allowed to carry a sword within
King's Landing?
At least not until the final battle comes?
i.e. assuming Cersei wants to fight the NK.
Or it could mean that Cersei has captured Jon when he went to her just like Dany did
at Dragonstone where she stopped Jon from leaving?
Or maybe Cersei is keeping Jon, so that she could give him to the NK in hopes of an alliance?

I found some more information regarding season 8 which made me think that the final battle
will take place in King's Landing.
I will discuss this information in my "Season 8 updates" video.
6) Abby Tabby has asked, "Why would Jon and Dany go to KL if Winterfell falls?
Don't you think it will be wise to go to the Vale?"
That's a really good point Abby.
There could be many reasons for Jon & Dany not wanting to go to the Vale.
Right now, Lord Yohn Royce is the commander of House Arryn's armies, but Sweet Robin
is the one who holds the key.
In season 6, we saw Sweet Robin at Runestone.
If Yohn Royce falls in the battle at WF, that would mean SweetRobin is incharge of the Vale
or he needs to appoint another commander unless Jon or Dany appoint someone else.
If you'll look at the map of Westeros, you can see that Runestone is near the sea, which
means it's easily within Euron's reach.
It's possible that Qyburn will find SweetRobin's location, and will have Euron kill him, or
probably just capture him and keep him as hostage to take the Vale?
Even if Royce is alive, he will either be at Winterfell or off fighting beside Jon somewhere.
The other reason could be that the whitewalkers might reach the Vale first, but I don't
think that's likely.

8) Chris Weinberger has asked, "Is there any chance the whitewalker threat is a red
herring?
They probably are the main threat but is it possible that something/ someone else is the
real threat (such as Cersei)?
If you could address this question in a video, that would be appreciated.
First of all, I would like to apologize for not addressing your question earlier.
I was posting season 7 videos and then I went on a break.
I completely forgot about it and then your comment got lost among other comments.
At first I was going to discuss this question here, but then I felt like I wouldn't do
it justice if I just mentioned it shortly here.
That's why I decided to make a whole separate video on this topic.
I'll post it next Saturday.

What if Bran is able to see Cersei's army coming from the south and the Night King coming
from the North?
Winterfell is evacuated but instead of heading south everyone heads north, (there has been
filming in Iceland).
In this way, the army of the dead will fight Cersei's army and then Dany and Jon will
"burn them all" including Winterfell with the Dragons.

If Bran could see both of them coming and warn everyone, this would have worked out
perfectly.
And if this was ANY OTHER show, it might have been possible.
But GRRM has warned us that there will be a bittersweet ending, and this ending seems
too sweet compared to his writing style.
But I do agree that the fire at Winterfell was too big to be set off by humans, and with
no fake snow in that video, it might very well be Jon and Dany who will burn down Winterfell.

Even then, there was still a chance you'd return home with an incredibly disappointing
hunk of plastic hidden behind truly misleading cover art.
Get ready to relive the trauma of childhood disappointment with some of the most deceptive
video game covers of all time.
Odama
One glance at the the giant samurai face in the clouds and that army of warriors bursting
through the shattered wooden gate, and it's pretty clear that Odama is a game about warring
villages in feudal Japan.
What you'd never suspect is that Odama is actually a pinball game.
Aside from the enormous boulder crashing through a castle wall, nothing about this cover art
really screams "pinball."
Unless, of course, that giant bald-headed spider demon off to the left is shouting "tilt!"
But we can't hear him over how loud the rest of this busy — and misleading — artwork
is.
Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty
Arguably one of the finest stealth games of all time, Sons of Liberty helped made the
PS2 a must-have console.
At first glance, the game's cover isn't anything particularly out of the ordinary.
Like many of the other games in the series, it depicts the series' protagonist, Solid
Snake, in a Japanese art style.
So far, so Solid.
What players weren't expecting, however, was to find themselves at the mercy of gaming
history's most audacious bait-and-switch.
Despite a marketing campaign filled with trailers, and even a demo in which Snake was portrayed
as the game's protagonist, Snake wasn't the lead character after all — it was an entirely
new character named Raiden.
Hideo Kojima had lied.
The trailers had lied.
And the cover had most certainly lied.
People took it about as well as you'd expect.
"Snake?
Respond!
Snake?
SNAAAKE!"
The Orange Box
As far as good games wrapped in boring covers go, The Orange Box is the all-time champ.
The compilation actually contains some of the most popular and successful Valve titles
ever released — Half-life 2, Team Fortress 2, and Portal.
But you wouldn't know any of those gems were worth playing just by looking at the box.
To the uninitiated, the game's cover depicts some random nerd, instructions about how to
avoid going into the wrong bathroom, and a berserk garbageman.
It's like a Greatest Hits album from a band you've never heard of.
In other words, if you weren't already familiar with the Valve hits compiled in this collection,
chances are you'd have skipped over it faster than you could say "the cake is a lie."
Dragon's Lair
The legendary Dragon's Lair arcade game gave players a unique, animated gaming experience
backed by LaserDisc, mastered only by those with lightning-fast reflexes and a wicked
memory.
"No! No! No! No! No!
I hate this overpriced bulls---! Son of a b----! Piece of s---!"
By all accounts, Dragon's Lair was the darling of the arcade scene in 1983 and for many years
beyond.
When the Nintendo Entertainment System version came out in 1990, using the same cover art
as the beautiful arcade version, one would naturally expect a similar experience.
Unfortunately, the port of the game was abysmal, with absolutely none of the animated sequences
or gameplay that made the original great.
It was virtually an altogether different game, and console gamers had no warning that they
were getting an unremarkable sidescroller that couldn't even touch an Intellivision
game on its worst day.
More like Dragon's "Liar," if you ask us.
Adventure
Adventure is the very first action-adventure console game… if you can call it that.
It also contains gaming's first hidden Easter egg, so there are some very good reasons to
remember it.
On the other hand, it's only about one step above Pong in terms of visuals.
Adventure's box art depicts an psychedelic dragon twisting through a hedge maze while
dwarven adventurers approach from a castle in the background.
But in the actual game, your hero is... a giant square pixel, stuck in a maze of bland
nothingness, running from dragons that look like pregnant seahorses.
Charming?
Sure.
Impressive for its time?
Maybe.
What we thought we were in store for?
Not a chance.
Ballz
The cover of Ballz tells us nothing — except that it includes "3D Fighting At Its Ballziest,"
which isn't even a real word.
Fighting, however, was an incredibly hot genre in the mid '90s, so publisher Accolade ran
with it.
Well, from the weird, suggestive theme music …
… to the near total lack of 3D graphics, Ballz is only barely a game, let alone a fighting
game.
Each fighter is composed of a series of colored spheres, and they fight on a slightly 3D plane,
but that's about it.
It's not so much that the cover is misleading, because it leads nowhere — but it's the
fact that someone would try to pass off this pile of wet trash as a game that's truly ballsy.
Pirates of the Caribbean
Back in 2003, Bethesda released a PC tie-in to one of the year's most popular films, Pirates
of the Caribbean.
The cover was basically what you'd expect from a Pirates game — the movie's logo and
title splayed over an image of pirates raiding and pillaging which could easily have come
from a screenshot of one of the film's many action scenes.
But that's ultimately where any resemblance to the franchise ends.
Pirates of the Caribbean didn't start off as a Pirates of the Caribbean game.
It was actually a sequel to the 2000 RPG Sea Dogs, repackaged and repurposed as a tie-in
to boost sales.
Save for a brief appearance by a ship called the Black Pearl, there was nothing within
the game to actually connect it with its silver screen sibling.
Amnesia: The Dark Descent
Take one quick glance at the original U.S. cover to Amnesia: The Dark Descent and we
wouldn't blame you for thinking it's a comedy game.
A man holds up a lantern as Donald Duck, injected with Resident Evil's t-virus, leaps out at
him.
It's not exactly terrifying.
In fact, it's chuckle-inducing as best and cringeworthy at worst.
Amnesia itself, on the other hand, is terrifying.
In fact, it's so utterly, downright, fist-in-mouth unpleasant that Eurogamer made a case for
it being one of the most influential horror games of the decade.
Amnesia is a game that many people in their right minds are probably incapable of playing
for more than 10 minutes.
The game this cover was made for, one the other hand, would probably have most gamers
laughing themselves to an early grave.
Phalanx
Despite what the cover of Phalanx might imply, it is in no way about an elderly hillbilly
playing banjo songs about outer space battles — even though that premise sounds like the
best genre-bending shooter of all time.
One day, someone will make that game, call it Grandpa Banjo's Tenth Dimension Tales,
and the circle will be complete.
For now, Phalanx remains a fairly standard side-scrolling space shooter.
The game's developers intentionally chose a nonsensical photo for its cover in order
to separate themselves from other similar titles in the genre.
Ultimately, though, this bizarre box art backfired — it ended up driving potential players
away.
Home Improvement: Power Tool Pursuit
Most of us can agree that unless Tim Allen is playing Buzz Lightyear, we don't care about
what he's doing.
So whoever decided to slap a generic Home Improvement stock photo on the cover of its
tie-in video game wasn't exactly reading the room.
Would kids would see a picture of Tim Allen and get excited?
No, but it's staggering to think that was a real thought in someone's head.
Turns out that Power Tool Pursuit involves Tim Taylor fighting dinosaurs and robots with
a nail gun, which is actually pretty amazing.
It even feels a bit like a LucasArts game.
But the fact that some executive tried to sell this underrated gem with with Tim Allen's
boring mug is a historic tragedy.
