so when you guys first get into your car should be in park which is the

your parking brake on and you have park so before we start driving I want to

introduce you guys so many of the basic controls your car so so on the left of

the steering wheel is usually where the signals are so down is left up goes

right you also have your light controls right here

my car has auto light so I just need on auto you can turn your lights on there

flipping a switch up and brights by just switching it up again and pushing it

back and pushing this over forward will give you a flasher lights like this and

I just leave on auto and like I said on the right here we have our windshield

wiper controls and some other cars it can be in the serial in different places

the most for most cars a windshield wiper controls are on the right here

pretty simple so on this end here you have your rear wiper so low high pretty

simple and over here you have your front wiper so if you do this you can get one

quick wipe if you go like that if you want to start I'm going to make sure the

wipers are continually going you just push this down and that goes like that

you can push it down too high and the wiper continue going like that you also

change the speed of each setting by using this dial here in the middle so in

order to get the car moving what you want to do is you want to press the

brake and press this bone in lift it up and put it down so it releases the

parking brake and what you want to do if your foot still on the brake you want to

take your gear lever and press the bun on it and push it back and drive so now

you're curling drive so when you let go of the brake the car will will move

starting from a stand so you want to signal check your mirror blind spot then

you want to let go of the gas with your right right foot does you see the cars

moving I'm not hitting the gas at all then with your right foot you want to

give a little bit of throttle very little to get the car moving you don't

need a lot of throttle look at the car moving at all

it's very light same as steering you don't need a lot of

steering inputs very lay a lot of newbie owners put the gas on too hard and gives

you a pretty hard acceleration you just want to do very light inputs with

braking and acceleration so with a steering a lot of new drivers like to

turn the wheel way too far than you actually need to you can see when I'm

driving here the latest inputs turn the car to go to Maui and you don't need to

really have that much steering input unless you're going around a really

sharp corner so you just always want to do light steering inputs you don't have

to streamlets you know just do the wheel as much as you really think you need to

do for hand position you can either have your pants at 9:00 to 3:00 or 10:00 -

it's really up to you as long as you have two hands in the wheel at all times

and they're on opposite sides of the wheel this just makes it so it's more

safe and your you have good reaction time when you need to run in the car you

just give it light inputs of gas you don't need to really give it a lot of

gas you can just keep your foot lightly on the gas to maintain speed for braking

you just really lightly want to press on the brake Powe prior to stopping you

don't want to come up to the you don't want to come to a stop sign or a light

and slam on the brakes because your car will have large forward like that thing

for a really uncomfortable stop really want to take your time with the really

smooth input and always look out for your surroundings so when it comes to a

three-point turn which I'm gonna show you guys right now what you want to do

you want to have the right foot on the brake start I want to put your signal on

your left signal on you're gonna be going the other way you want to crank

the wheel all the way you wanna make sure it car isn't drive and you can

start going don't break the wheel at all pull up to

the curb as close as you think they turn you're gonna signal on to go right crank

the wheel right then you shift in the reverse

and then you ship the drive signals that are left crank it up and that's how you

do a perfect three-point turn so the steering technique that you guys want to

do is called the hand over hand technique and this is the safest

technique possible except two hands and very in control so I do hand over hand

hand I want to be around the turn you can kind of let the string a little

glide back into the position that you're going and then shake back control the

wheel this is a really safe method and it's room wow it's very accuracy I'm

gonna stop you want to make sure your foots on the firmly in the brake where

your signal on look both ways hand over hand then we will come back

very simple don't think too much about driving this driving automatic cars the

easiest thing in the world the car will do the shifting for you when you give a

gas input so when you see the car shift before you don't worry about it that's

how it's supposed to happen so when it comes when it comes to using reverse all

you want to do put your foot on the brake put in reverse doesn't get it back

hit the gas I mean just use the brake pedal always hover over the brake when

going to reverse because you don't want to go too fast and slam into something

so oh no what you want to do every time you switch gears you want to be hug your

foot on the brake boy you do so once you're in the gear you can let go the

curl start moving as you can see very easy as you can see down here near the

gear lever we also have a park we went over and over so know we're driving over

but there's a usual neutrally this all neusel does is it disconnects the power

train from the engine so you'll just be coasting in neutral here as I see I'm

just coasting I'm on a hill right now I think I was coasting if I give it revs

just revs the car up it's not any connect to the engine all right I don't

even recommend you put a new joke because it can damage some components or

braking pretty early and you get a smooth stopping by increasing the

pressure just a little bit you coming to stop a little break very smooth stop and

just give it a little gas see if you give it a lot of gas are gonna be

pushback from your seat you don't want to do that just give it a little inputs

and I should be okay very easy to drive different speed and rpms up here so you

know your revs but you don't have to worry about that automatic car since my

arm car doesn't ship thing for you so we

just start moving the Carl start shifting based on your speed completely

normal don't worry about any shifting she haven't light breaks really go away

on the throttle and inputs and I should be all set

so coming when you're completely done driving the car which I do you just

right foot to use the brake coming to a stop and while pressing the brake you

want to throw your car in park and what parts break up and you guys are all done

now you can take your foot off the brake press the brake and shut the car off and

you guys are all done so as you can see it's really simple to drive an automatic

S'more: A Brief History of America's Favorite Campfire Snack | Heavy.com

This summer, 45 million pounds of marshmallows will be toasted over a fire in America.

Many will be used as an ingredient in the quintessential summer snack: the s'more.

Huddling around a campfire and eating gooey marshmallows and warm chocolate sandwiched between two graham crackers may feel like primeval traditions.

But every part of the process – including the coat hanger we unbend to use as a roasting spit – is a product of the Industrial Revolution.

The oldest ingredient in the s'more's holy trinity is the marshmallow, a sweet that gets its name from a plant called, appropriately enough, the marsh mallow.

Marsh mallow, or Althea officinalis, is a plant indigenous to Eurasia and Northern Africa.

For thousands of years, the root sap was boiled, strained and sweetened to cure sore throats or simply be eaten as a treat.

The white and puffy modern marshmallow looks much like its ancient ancestor.

But for hundreds of years, creation of marshmallows was very time-consuming.

Each marshmallow had to be manually poured and molded, and they were a treat that only the wealthy could afford.

By the mid-19th century, the process had become mechanized and machines could make them so cheaply that they were included in most penny candy selections.

Today the marshmallow on your s'more contains no marsh mallow sap at all.

It's mostly corn syrup, cornstarch and gelatin.

Chocolate is another ancient food.

Mesoamericans have been eating or drinking it for 3,000 years.

The Europeans who encountered indigenous people in Mexico in the 1500s noted that chocolate was used to treat numerous ailments ranging from dysentery and indigestion, to fatigue and dyspepsia.

But again, it was the Industrial Revolution that made chocolate cheap enough and palatable enough for the average person.

The chocolate that the Mesoamericans ate was dark, grainy and tended to be somewhat bitter.

In 1875, a candlemaker-turned-chocolatier named Daniel Peter invented a process to mix milk with chocolate.

He then added some more sugar, and the modern milk chocolate bar was born.

Peter's company eventually merged with Henri Nestle's two companies, and Peter's invention was dubbed the Nestle chocolate bar.

It proved to be so much more popular than the darker bars on the market that other candy companies, from Cadbury to Hershey, released their own versions.

Finally, the graham cracker was invented by the Presbyterian minister Sylvester Graham, who felt that a vegetarian diet would help suppress carnal urges, especially the scourge of "self-pollution" (read: masturbation).

The original graham cracker used unsifted whole-wheat flour.

Graham felt that separating out the bran was against the wishes of God, who, according to Graham, must have had a reason for including bran.

In his "Treatise on Bread, and Bread-Making," he gives many examples of prominent writers throughout history who urged the consumption of whole wheat flour.

Graham was highly influential in the development of the health food movement of the 19th century, and his acolytes included John Harvey Kellogg of the Battle Creek Sanitarium, who used the graham cracker as a basis for his famous flaked cereal line.

As for how the graham cracker became a part of the s'more, the snack's true origin remains unclear.

The first mention of this treat is in a 1927 edition of the Girl Scout manual "Tramping and Trailing with the Girl Scouts.

" In a nod to the treat's addictive qualities, it was dubbed "Some More.

The term s'more is first found the 1938 guide "Recreational Programs for Summer Camps," by William Henry Gibson.

Some think the s'more may be a homemade version of the Mallomar or the moon pie, two snacks introduced in the 1910s.

Today, the s'more has become so popular that it's inspired a range of spin-offs.

You can eat a s'mores-flavored Pop Tart for breakfast, munch on a s'mores candy bar for dessert and even unwind after a long day at work with a s'mores martini.

As I often tell my students, the health-conscious Sylvester Graham is probably rolling over in his grave after what became of his beloved cracker.

A lot of things have happened in the project

since my last post, which was a long time ago.

Most notable is, that the scope has widened.

Let me try to break it down for you.

Let us start with a recap.

As I one day was surfing on Wikipedia.

My eyes caught the attention of a small little picture

in the topic of something called Girih tiles.

I had to find out more about these Girih tiles.

It was so cool, and I knew I had to create something...

I started planning for a small movie clip.

But in order to explain, I had to explain something else first,

and, when I was working on that

I needed to explain yet another thing, and so on.

I ended up with 14 movie clips, collected in 5 acts

before I could get to the girih tiles part.

This concludes, the first part of the original plan

But, the plan continues

in going deeper into Girih tiling.

Here, are some previously unpublished clips

of work-in-progress.

My objective has already evolved

from wallpaper

into a pattern creation app.

I tried to fill the gaps in my plan

but it wasn't a simple step to take

I needed to find out more about Girih tiles.

The Core 4

As I was working with these sections

I realized that girih tiling was a

field of study left pretty much unstudied.

At least, that was what I thought, at that time

This work led to numerous branches,

and I ended up having a scope with small islands

of interesting pieces of this wonderful world of Girih.

I realized that my concept of the Edge Rule

differs from the customary way of looking upon tiling

and how the tiles are connected.

and, that several additional tiles already have been defined in historical documents,

but not included in the Girih tile set.

I plan to update the set with the missing tiles.

Later, I found that Jay Bonner already have done this, many years earlier,

but his publications didn't render as much publicity as the 5-tile concept

by Lu & Steinhardt.

It wasn't until Bonner's book "Islamic Geometric Patterns" in 2017

the view of tiles beyond the 5, got accepted

Besides the Edge Rule, my contribution is to add

a classification to this Extended World of Girih.

I learned, that some tiles are more frequent,

carries more option to be creative,

and are more symmetric than others

This led to the insight

of the need to be able to differentiate tiles by their usefulness,

and I'm trying to figure out,

by which parameters one would evaluate them.

I also introduced the adapter concept.

Not that it is something new.

But I distinguish them from the other tiles,

to make them their equal.

They are defined by having 1 or more

sides, longer than the base length,

and their purpose is to adapt one part of a pattern,

to another with a different Edge Rule angle.

The fortified town of Rattay

fell under the possession of the King, and was granted as a fiefdom, and during the

reign of John of Luxembourg it fell under the rule of Lord

of Henry of Lipa, who then had built a lower castle that they called Pirkstein

Today, Rattay is under the administration of

Hanush until young Lord Capon of Lipa reaches adulthood and unto him shall be granted the whole town and its surrounding estates as a fiefdom.

In Rattay all manners of tradesmen flourist--butchers,smiths,tailors,weavers, and armourers

and great markets are held here every month.

Rattay is an administrative centre and thus can afford to employ its own

executioner and support a strong municipal garrison.Its large stone church is consecrated of Saint Mathew.

A lot of things have happened in the project

since my last post, which was a long time ago.

Most notable is, that the scope has widened.

Let me try to break it down for you.

Let us start with a recap.

As I one day was surfing on Wikipedia.

My eyes caught the attention of a small little picture

in the topic of something called Girih tiles.

I had to find out more about these Girih tiles.

It was so cool, and I knew I had to create something...

I started planning for a small movie clip.

But in order to explain, I had to explain something else first,

and, when I was working on that

I needed to explain yet another thing, and so on.

I ended up with 14 movie clips, collected in 5 acts

before I could get to the girih tiles part.

This concludes, the first part of the original plan

But, the plan continues

in going deeper into Girih tiling.

Here, are some previously unpublished clips

of work-in-progress.

My objective has already evolved

from wallpaper

into a pattern creation app.

I tried to fill the gaps in my plan

but it wasn't a simple step to take

I needed to find out more about Girih tiles.

As I was working with these sections

I realized that girih tiling was a

field of study left pretty much unstudied.

At least, that was what I thought, at that time

This work led to numerous branches,

and I ended up having a scope with small islands

of interesting pieces of this wonderful world of Girih.

One

I realized that my concept of the Edge Rule

differs from the customary way of looking upon tiling

and how the tiles are connected.
