hey it's Jackie and welcome back to my channel for today's tutorial I have a

series of hairstyles inspired by Elle Evans from the movie the kissing booth

I loved Elle's hair she had very textured beachy waves that were super

carefree in contrast with a gorgeous princessy updo and then a retro look for

her birthday party so three very different hairstyles and I'll be using a

different stylers to help get these looks and I do keep it a little bit more

inspired today because I have been pinning my hair up quite a bit to match

whatever characters hair length but I really just wanted to rock my own hair

and I'll show you guys at the full effect of these new stylers! I'm working

with OGX for this video and in the past OGX has been known for their shampoo

conditioner and some leave-in products for hair which work great and now they

have a whole new diverse range of styling products which is so exciting

and helpful when creating these styles. if you're new to my channel and you love

favorite in the comments and let's get started first Elle style is her beachy

textured hair this style is super quick and looks best on second day hair

because you can work with a bit of grit got on my makeshift school uniform and

to make sure my roots are not flat and to freshen up the hair I'm taking the

OGX extra-strength refresh and revitalize + argan oil of Morocco dry

shampoo and spray into the roots this is oil absorbing while adding a really nice

subtle scent and it's super light and texture so it's not going to gunk up

your style in a couple of hours and my hair is already easier to work

with and like Elle we're gonna part our hair to the side and so the back of the

style lays nicely add a bit of tease there and then comb backwards my hair

generally doesn't hold tease well so I always add in a bit of styler when I do

this you'll be able to see the full impact of the OGX Bodifying plus

bamboo fiber in Elle's birthday party look but I did add a bit here and to the

roots one more time before adding a bit of wave with a straightener take a small

to medium section at a time and clamp downwards and then turn the straightener

with the hair clamped towards you and run down the length you should get a

slight curl after this and you can twist as it cools to help pick up the curl

shape

bring the curls starting a little higher on the top layer and then the very front

face framing wave you want lots of volume and for the wave to lay about

where the jawline is from the same bodifying + bamboo fiber full line

there is a full sugar cane sugar height also spray that will give a loose lived

and look to the waves or you can go with a full root boost mousse like I did this

is a really unique product that I had to feature because it's part moves and part

hairspray a giving hair hold and fullness I felt this spray gave the hold

and the texture that I wanted because typically I do waves and then I'll use

like a shine spray for a very glam look well this has more of a sexy vibe to it

with all the volume and more of a relaxed style this spray like the rest

of the line has bamboo fibers and the mousse also has plant collagen to help

achieve this look

and let's do look number two I'm obsessed with this princess-esque prom

updo paired with dainty accessories and a coral dress we are going to be curling

the hair so a heat protectant is a great step this time I grabbed the protecting

plus silk blowout quick drying thermal spray this is great specifically for

blow-drying because it's infused with silk extract and quinoa to speed up the

blow-dry time I've already blow-dried my hair using this for sleek strands and I

just topped it off with a bit more spray before Hot Tools to protect against any

damaged section a front portion about where the arches of the brows are and

then keep this out of the way to style later

even in updos sometimes adding more volume quickly adds a lot of balance and

it looks more put together in the end so I'm taking the bodifying plus

bamboo fiber full big hair spray and teasing around my hairline

and then up we go into a super high ponytail for the rest of this style I'm

switching to the smoothing + shae sleek collection from OGX to calm flyaways

that would take away from this polished updo I love a good doughnut shaped bun

maker you can find these at the drugstore along with all of the products

I'm using and pin with bobby pins to the base taking a one-inch curler add some

curl to help the hair a lay over the bun shape and pin as you go to hide the mold

drop the ends around the bun I added a bit of twist detailing to recreate Elle's

and leave the ends out on one side and we will add some pin curls later but

first let's do the bang area same curling iron just curl of the base of

the hair backwards to add volume and clip in the rounded shape as it cools I

just did three sections here and once it's cooled brush out teased a little

bit and then you want to lay the section to the side and Elle had some volume right

before the bun so since I haven't gone crazy with bobby pins

this look is still pretty easy to mold so I'm pulling up this middle section

and then laying the remaining hair over it and pinning the shape down at the

sides and setting with a smoothing plus che humidity blockin hairspray to ensure

the style last even in the heat or a long night, this part isn't exact Elle's -

hers looked a little bit more like a finger wave at some angles but it is an

easy way to get a very similar vibe on to the accent pin curls just curly

section roll the hair into a flattened loop following the curl pattern and pin

it with one or two bobby pins against the bun shape make sure you get the top

of the pin curls so that isn't fall forward

final spray of the smoothing + shae humidity blocking hairspray infused with

shea butter and a marula oil and with the sweetheart style dress and an updo a

little glow on the shoulders and collarbones it looks amazing

last kissing booth inspired style is simple but definitely makes a statement

this time go with the middle part and leave out some face framing pieces to

style last plus a larger horizontal section to lay over all the teasing

we'll be doing so it has a sleeker look clip away and then T's by bringing

sections forward in one hand fairly tightly and then back combing mainly the

root but also throughout four huge hair

this teasing is really gonna stay put and go by a lot faster with the help of

the ogx bodifying plus bamboo fiber full big hairspray I love big

giant hair so this hairspray is my most used from all the new stylers but there

is something for everyone whether that's to give your hair lots of shine movement

curls tight holds its whatever your hair wants and I'm excited to create more

styles using these stylers because they really did make the style really easy to

do okay so I'm done teasing and just smoothing over that last section and add

a retro black headband I got mine off eBay so I'll have that link down below

and like in the first style I'm using a straightener for some movement and then

hairspray to lock the volume in place

I'm obsessed with how easy that was to get a polished teased, I kinda want to do

an updated Brigitte Bardot look after doing this

and when brushing out before washing your hair brush from the bottom to the

top and again that these products feel really light like I definitely did use a

lot of hairspray but this wasn't a huge mess afterwards so I highly recommend

The Power of a Red Lip & Wednesday Addams Halloween Tutorial | This Week in Beauty with ipsy 10/16 - Duration: 8:52.

- Hey guys, I'm Roxette Arisa,

and you're watching This Week in Beauty with ipsy.

So today, we are kicking things off

with an amazing product that you can find on Ipsy Shopper.

So, this is Trust Fund Beauty's lip gloss in Evil Genius.

Its a really amazing, vampy red lip that is just going

to be the perfect transition shade

into your autumn wardrobe, if you know what I mean.

Red lips are, honestly, a classic staple all year round,

but for all of the New York Fashion Week Fall

and Winter 2018 shows, we saw them all over the catwalk,

especially at the Brandon Maxwell and Cushnie et Och shows.

So, this lip gloss is actually very moisturizing

and it is vegan and cruelty-free and I'm wearing it

on my lips as a topper today so you can kinda see

what it would look like as a topper but,

honestly, red lips is just such a mood.

It means so many different things

to so many different people.

We thought it would be fun to bring over

some of our amazing Open Studios members and talk to them

about how they feel when they are rocking the rouge.

- I feel that wearing a red lip is, it's unique.

It can be very out there, so you have to own it.

When you have a red lip, you have to own it all the time.

- When I wear red lipstick, I feel very bold and confident.

- When I wear red, I feel fierce and unstoppable.

I feel really, really confident.

- When I wear a red lip, I feel amazing.

I, personally, love it.

It's not only a sexy feeling, but it's also powerful.

- I feel really good.

Red lips are really empowering

and it makes you feel beautiful and you could do anything.

- The moment I put on red lipstick,

I feel like I've got a little more class,

a little more sass to my walk, you know?

It gives me a little more attitude.

- When I was in first grade, I actually won this award

for writing a story about my twin brother.

I used to force him to wear red lipstick

and I won that award.

They actually reenact my story into a play

about red lipstick.

I always wanted to be a makeup artist or something,

so I would always practice on him.

- My mom used to wear red lips all the time.

I always asked her, "Mom, why do you always wear red?

"Can't you just wear something else?"

because there was so many colors but she would insist

on wearing red and that's all I can remember her wearing.

- I have a lot of red lipsticks.

I feel like each one is so different,

but we have warm-toned red lipsticks,

we have orange-toned red lipsticks,

and then we have my favorite cool-toned red lipsticks.

Those make your teeth look whiter, which I love.

They are more cherry-colored which I love absolutely.

- We were supposed to wear a lips that were a little bit

of lip color for our show in theater.

I stole my mom's lipstick and I put on way too much

and I got in really big trouble.

- I tried to keep that red lipstick energy, as I like

to call it, with me even when I'm not wearing makeup,

even when I'm not dressed up, because it's more an attitude.

But you know, the right shade always helps. (laughs)

- For me, the confidence would be

just holding yourself high,

owning the color, owning your personal look.

The lip color will add the extra effect to your outfit.

You have to make sure that you're confident in yourself.

- Because I wear this scarf, people think we're shy

but I like to be very outgoing with my appearance.

I like to do the opposite of what people think. (laughs)

Wearing red lipstick, I feel like,

makes me look very confident and loud.

- It's so unusual to have red lips, loud lips.

That's why it makes me feel confident.

The color is so bold it makes me feel fierce.

- I feel like I'm perceived like a boss.

I love that word.

I feel so good when I'm wearing it;

my body language and just in the way I'm perceived

as more stronger, I feel like.

- I feel really empowered when I wear a red lip

because it's one of those things that,

it just completes the transformation of makeup for me

and just makes me feel like myself

and it makes me feel like I can do anything

and it's so simple.

It's just really, really empowering.

- The reason why red is such a fierce color,

'cause, it's the color that we identify

with passion and fire.

It's proof that we have that within us,

but then when you put that on, it's you identifying yourself

with that ferocity that you have within.

- When I wear a red lip, I honestly feel way more confident.

It definitely gives me a little boost,

and I think it came from when I was growing up

because I would always wear red lips

for my figure skating competitions.

I think that instilled some sort of confidence booster,

which is awesome, (laughs) but let me know

Now, we're just two weeks away from Halloween,

so we definitely want to serve up some more Halloween inspo

and this one is a classic but the best part is

you probably already have everything you need

to create this look.

Something Katrina did that I thought was pretty cool

was that she used that black eyeshadow to give the look

of those severely contoured cheekbones and Halloween is

definitely the time and the place to just have fun

with makeup and use traditional products

in unconventional ways.

For me, one thing that's probably my number one

Halloween makeup tip is to use a really light-colored

foundation instead of white face-paint,

similar to what Katrina did just because it's going

to hold way better throughout the day or the night,

whenever you're wearing it and it's not gonna crease

or wear off or just get gross-looking like a lot

of traditional face paints might.
