Youtube daily report Oct 16 2018

United States Army now has its own Electronic Warfare Tactical Vehicles (EWTV).

As per reports, the 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team "Greywolf," 1st Cavalry Division fielded

the Army's new EWTV recently and is testing it.

The U.S Army's Rapid Equipping Force is driving this program.

The Rapid Equipping Force provides out of box solution to U.S Army's pressing requirements

that are time taking to acquire through the traditional procurement process.

The EWTV is part of an effort to enhance the US Army's capabilities in the area of electronic

warfare (EW).

It is developed to meet the US Army's need to detect & jam enemy communications and network.

In this video, Defense Updates analyzes Electronic Warfare Tactical Vehicle of U.S Army.

Let's get started.

Potential rivals of U.S especially Russia has been investing in land-based EW systems.

In Syria, many such systems like Leer-3, Krasuha are deployed.

There were many reports that some U.S drones were affected by these EW systems and their

operation had to be cut short.

Jamming through EW can be done through many ways, the basic includes blocking the target

from receiving GPS signals and communication from the base.

US has been behind in terms of deploying land-based mobile EW systems and had no operational system

till now.

U.S Army relies on Air Force & Navy, which have many EW systems including dedicated EW

warplane like the EA-18G Growler.

A land mobile EW system will provide much-needed flexibility and operation freedom to the U.S Army.

This is where the US Army's new Electronic Warfare Tactical Vehicle comes in.

Lt. Col. Scott Schumacher, chief of the Rapid Equipping Force solutions team, said in a release,

"This effort will allow the ability for EW Soldiers to influence future vehicle improvements

and grow their knowledge.

This is an advanced EW technology that can provide the Army new offensive and defensive capabilities."

The system basically has two parts: Platform & Jammer.

The platform chosen is the MaxxPro MRAP (Mine Resistant Ambush Protected) vehicle.

It is designed by American company Navistar International's subsidiary Navistar Defense

along with the Israeli Plasan Sasa, who designed and manufactures the vehicle's armor.

The vehicle was initially designed to compete in the US Military's Mine Resistant Ambush

Protected vehicle program, led by the US Marine Corps as well as in Medium Mine Protected

Vehicle program, led by U.S Army.

The jammer deployed is the CREW Duke electronic warfare system developed by SRC.

As per the manufacturer, the CREW Duke system uses an advanced software-defined architecture

that supports rapid reconfiguration to adapt to the constantly evolving threat environment.

The system is easy to program and allows the operator to target the particular frequencies.

The system's compact size and low power consumption make it ideal for mounting in vehicles.

Viewers may note that the Duke system was selected as one of the U.S. Army's Top 10

Greatest Inventions in 2005 and 2009.

SRC has stated that its engineers have continuously enhanced the system with many upgrades.

Though in an initial stage, it can be very well said that with the deployment of Electronic

Warfare Tactical Vehicles, US Army is taking steps in the right direction.

northern Iceland to check out some of the most otherworldly natural landscapes.

The flight is only 45 minutes long and be sure to get a window seat to capture

these amazing views from up above. We're here in August and we're taking a guided

tour with Air Iceland Connect who picked us up directly at the airport with

guided transportation.

We're in Northern Iceland today we took a propeller plane to get here and our

first off is Goðafoss waterfall

this is insane! Wow! okay.. so we just hiked down to Gullfoss ...Goðafoss look at this

electric blue light blue color from the glacier

Iceland today we're in the middle of nowhere but then there's a restaurant.

here's where we are here's late from Myvatan and here are the pseudocraters

formed by steam explosions from burning lava. These cone-like lava formations are

called pseudocraters they were created by a large basaltic lava eruption 2300

years ago

next to Lake Myvtan is Dimmuborgir an area with uniquely shaped lava fields

it's also home to the mischievous Yule Lads

which come out in December this is Santa Clauses home this is where Santa Claus

This is a unique wasteland of pools of boiling mud hot springs

hissing chimneys that give life to this desolate scenery in this area there's

much as we do hit the thumbs up button down below!

I love that photo of these people just walking here. We are in northern Iceland

and we just made it to this volcanic area here look at all these sulfur steam

baths.

It's like being in a steam bath.

One of the best parts about this area is running through the hot steam from the

furnace although it smells like sulfur it's a welcome blast of hot air

amongst the 45 degree fahrenheit temperatures on this August day

this waterfall so special

this waterfall in Prometheus

definitely the loudest waterfall I've ever been to.

[waterfall sounds]

Behind me are the basalt columns

and this area was flooded, that's how the boulders got here.

So this is the river and the reason why it's moving at such a high force is

because it's coming from the glacier.

And what's incredible about this is we're so high up but there's no railing

and then over here is a mini dental floss before it gets to now time to

check out our next volcano wonder called Hljóðaklettar

these basalt formations they're formed by a series of glaciers cutting through

craters and then glaciers melting on top of you now it's time to get an up-close

and personal look at the sound cliffs which contain different patterns formed

by the lava

it looks like a staircase right here

it's collapsing this is all part of a national park people think that they

hear a river running inside the rocks but it's coming from an echo this is

called sound rocks because it echoes the sound

that's crazy that you can hear the echo of the river we have been driving

through this way how do you pronounce that the place

yeah Asbyrgi okay now as if this landscape couldn't get any cooler we

visit Asbyrgi, a glacial Canyon with steep cliffs that formed the shape of a

horseshoe we're surrounded by spruce trees I've never seen so many trees

amazing when these walls go up to 90 metres tall

Sigur Rós did a concert in here in these the natural acoustics

so fishing is one of the biggest industries and Iceland and behind me is

the harbour Húsavík is a small fishing town in harbour with a little over 2,000

inhabitants it's famous for its cozy coffee shops and its wooden church

called Húsavíkkirkja we're in Húsavík in north Iceland - I'm sorry if I

mispronounced it, apologies. We're still learning. But this

is beautiful check out this signage which is super kids in this church they

have this kind of replica Scandinavian Church here which is where just well

Jimmy Butler's Message to Timberwolves: I'm Here, We'd Better Win | Heavy.com - Duration: 2:21.

Jimmy Butler's Message to Timberwolves: I'm Here, We'd Better Win | Heavy.com

Jimmy Butler is still with the Minnesota Timberwolves on the eve of NBA opening night.

And for the time being, it seems he's come to terms with the fact that remain there for now, at least to some extent.

After Monday's practice, Butler spoke to the media and touched on a wide range of topics.

When asked whether he can play through the frustrations, the All-Star guard left no doubt about his ability to "go out there and play no matter what.".

Latest on Jimmy Butler Trade Talks.

Unfortunately for Butler, the lone team who was still heavily in the mix, the Miami Heat, may have taken a step back.

After a near-deal fell apart recently, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel revealed the Heat are reportedly not re-engaging with the Timberwolves on a trade.

The Heat, according to a source familiar with the dealings, "are not trying to re-engage" in the talks.

The process, however, seemingly remains fluid in light of Butler's recent behavior and comments.

There haven't been rumblings on the subject since this point, and as of now, it seems safe to assume that the Timberwolves are going to let this situation play out.

Obviously, the longer they wait and closer it gets to the NBA trade deadline or even next free agency, the less Minnesota will receive for Butler in a deal.

Robert Reich: America's Most Dangerous Export - Duration: 3:28.

Donald Trump is not only undermining democracy here at home, but he's also emboldening dangerous

authoritarian movements around the world.

Trump's presidency has become America's most dangerous export.

First: Trump has provided cover for authoritarian leaders around the world who are actively

attacking the media and suppressing the truth to entrench their power.

He congratulated Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán on his electoral victory, despite

Orban's efforts to undermine democracy and stifle freedom of the press.

On Twitter, Trump vowed to join with Polish president Andrzej Duda to "fight the fake

news".

Duda has placed media outlets under strict government control.

Trump welcomed to the White House the Egyptian President, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, who has locked

up tens of thousands of his political opponents and decimated the human-rights community there.

Trump reached out to Philippine leader Rodrigo Duterte, who has invoked Hitler's mass extermination

of Jews as a model for how he would like to dispose of drug dealers and addicts.

And, of course, Trump infamously made excuses for Vladimir Putin when asked about the murder

of Russian journalists.

Second: Trump's anti-immigrant policies and rhetoric have lent legitimacy to racist

and xenophobic political parties across Europe.

His success playing on racial fears and stoking nationalist sentiment has been a model for

their efforts.

Look at Italy's new deputy prime minister, Matteo Salvini, who campaigned on mass deportations

and has evoked the language of Benito Mussolini.

And Austria's far-right Freedom Party has demanded tighter border security, expedited

deportations, and financial "sanctions" on immigrants.

Close behind them, although not yet in power, are France's Marine Le Pen and Britain's

Nigel Farage, who Trump has complimented on Twitter.

Third: Trump has undermined the international institutions committed to protecting human

rights and defending democracy.

Unlike former U.S. presidents, Trump doesn't publicly mention human rights.

In a break with decades of U.S. foreign policy, Trump has attacked NATO, weakening the alliance

as Putin threatens to undermine democracies in Western Europe.

He has also called the European Union a "foe," playing into nationalist movements.

As in the 1930s, economic strains are fueling the rise of demagogues who direct anger and

resentment toward scapegoats such as immigrants and minorities–lying about them with impunity.

But the truth is still getting through to most people, and democracy is still alive.

Yet in sharp contrast to the 1930s when the president of the United States defended

democratic ideals, Trump is now helping lead the charge against them.

San Antonio: Puffy Tacos | Tacos of Texas Ep. 4 - Duration: 7:01.

(griddle sizzling)

- Bro, I got something for ya.

- Huh? - Mexican hands.

Chécalo!

- Taco tip number 85.

- The ability to flip a tortilla without burning yourself.

(jazzy accordion music)

- I'm Jarod Neece. - I'm Mando Rayo.

- And we're taco journalists exploring

the most iconic tacos of Texas

through the eyes of the people who make them.

- [Mando] We're in San Antonio, Texas, where you wake up

to warm breakfast tacos, barbacoa and Big Red,

and you root for the Spurs.

- But today, we're exploring

the most iconic taco San Antonio.

- The puffy taco. - Let's go.

- [Mando] This is the original puffy taco place, right?

- Yes, but they used to be called crispy tacos.

My husband thought of the name

because he said it's what the taco does,

it puffs up, so he named it puffy taco.

- [Mando] And what is a puffy taco?

- [Gloria] A puffy taco is a taco,

but we make the shell from scratch.

It's made out of corn masa.

- [Mando] And do you say that you also have

some long time employees here?

- [Woman] Oh god, yes, and that's why the food

stays the same because it's the same cooks.

- [Mando] And it still tastes the same?

- [Woman] That's what they always say.

Some move away and then when they come back again,

that's what they say, oh I remember this,

it still tastes like I remember.

- [Jarod] We'll we've eaten five times.

- We're ready for course number six.

- Yeah, we're gonna be that you are what you eat,

and I think puffy is the right word.

- Puffy. - It's good.

- In its truest form, puro means to keep it real,

to be legit, to be authentic.

You know, puro is raised eating puffy tacos

in the heart of the west side of San Antonio,

in very poor area, but keeping it real

to family traditions and meals and things like that.

I've been coming here probably since I was

old enough to eat puffy tacos, which in Mexican,

that's like what, six months old? (laughing)

And there's just a lot of history and culture

here at Ray's, so it is a true puro San Antonio gem.

There are so many great families that have been here

for decades, hundreds of years,

like the families here at Ray's that really celebrate

our culture around food, around tacos,

around that being the center of the table

and we share our meals together.

(singing in Spanish)

- [Mando] Let's go to Mi Tierra

in San Antonio's market district

because you can't have a puffy taco

without talking about the significance

of the masa and the tortilla.

- My father, Don Pedro Cortez, founded

the first restaurant in 1941.

When he saw this space, he said,

"Son, I want a Mexican restaurant

"that our people can be proud of their culture."

- Well, Mi Tierra I think reflects the biculturalness

of San Antonio by having a strong emphasis

on corn tortillas

and on flour tortillas because that is very bicultural.

The corn tortilla's, of course,

going back 3,000 years in our history.

- [Mando] And what about flour tortillas,

that it's like a nice warm blanket, it's like yeah.

- [Ellen] Well that comes much, much later,

much, much later when wheat flour

comes in from Europe, the Spaniards bring that over.

- [Mando] Well, all roads lead to San Antonio, no?

(laughing)

(singing in Spanish)

- [Jarod] Hey ya all, we're here at Henry's Puffy Tacos.

- [Mando] Where puffy tacos has been

a family tradition for three generations.

- My parents opened up the restaurant,

Cinco de Mayo, May 5, 1978.

I would get out of school, take the bus,

straight to work, six days a week.

- Well I worked at my father's restaurant

at a young age when I was 16 years old.

Throughout the years, we've grown up

and our kids have worked with us too.

- [Rick] So every day,

you'll see a family member at our restaurant.

- What's the difference between what most people

would consider a crispy taco and what you call a puffy taco?

- A crispy taco is your store bought corn tortilla.

- So pre-cooked?

- Yeah, pre-cooked and fried made into a taco shell.

Ours is handmade, in-house, starting with the masa.

- So the corn? - Yeah.

Roll the dough balls by hand,

smash them by hand, each one individually.

- [Imelda] Throw it in the fryer

it will puff up, and then we form it.

- [Jarod] And you do it by hand, right, you form it by hand?

- [Rick] We do by hand,

individually, each one single.

- So there's not a puffy taco maker back there?

- No. - Like a button.

(laughing)

- [Rick] There's only one way

to make puffy tacos and it's the old fashioned way.

- The old fashioned way.

- [Rick] There's no other secrets,

I mean it's just doing it this way.

- [Jarod] I'm pretty sure mine's better.

- Ah, sure (laughs).

Yeah, yeah (laughs).

- It's gonna fall apart.

- Puffy, not puffy (laughing).

- It's great just to see the generations

of families coming through our restaurant.

So this has been a great experience for us,

knowing that we're part of San Antonio

and just growing up with our community.

- We take a lot of pride in our puffy tacos.

It is a staple in San Antonio.

I mean, if you're gonna visit San Antonio,

you've got to try a puffy taco.

(jazzy accordion music)

- That's a wrap on San Antonio, y'all.

We just ate a whole lot of tacos.

- And they were puffy.

Personally, I love digging deep into those stories

and getting my hands into that masa

and making my first puffy taco.

- And whether it was Mi Tierra or Henry's or Ray's,

I loved hearing from the generations of taco makers,

doing what they do best and just keeping it

really real here in San Antonio.

- [Mando] So next time, you're in San Antonio,

remember eat puffy tacos and keep it puro.

- [Jarod] Because the tacos taste better

when you know the story.

- [Mando] All right Jarod, here's

some San Antonio street knowledge.

- Órale - Órale

- That means ay. - Ay.

- Híjole. - Híjole.

- No way. - No way.

- Check it out. - Chécalo.

(laughing) - That was perfect.

- [Mando] In the next proximo show,

we'll visit Corpus Christi,

where they do "Anything for Selenas!"

- [Jarod] And breakfast tacos.

We'll talk to a group of creatives and see how

they are standing up for their culture through their art.

- I want my culture to go from generation to generation.

- [Mando] And we'll see the biggest,

baddest breakfast taco in Texas.

Table - Flutter Widget of the Week - Duration: 1:00.

♪ (intro music) ♪

With Flutter, making a scrollable grid of widgets is easy with GridView.

But what about if you have a grid of widgets

that you don't want to scroll?

That's what Table is for!

Especially if you have widgets of different sizes,

there's no need to build up your own tree of custom-size rows and columns.

Table can resize children,

which is to accommodate all of its contents.

You can specify how widgets are aligned vertically

and their relative widths of columns horizontally.

You can set this specific behavior for individual columns

with the columnWidths parameter.

Use the border parameter to add a border decoration around your table.

So now, I can pay it forward.

K-12 Release 13.11 - Duration: 4:05.

Hi! My name is Derek and I'm part of the K12

Content Design and Development team at Blackbaud.

Here's what's new for the October 17 release.

Core and General Features

We have added a Days present column to the Students list.

This column displays the number of days a

student was present during the specified timeframe for the list.

Through People Finder, you can now search on

name, student ID, user ID, host ID, or email,

helping you to better locate the correct individual.

Also, on the Contact Card, you can completely

remove Host ID and delete the user photo.

We changed the default User List results to

better match the Edit User Profile Data results.

Academics

We are continuing to make improvements to

our Report Card Builder. For our Canadian Schools,

they can add the Standard and Compulsory codes

as columns to the details section of a report card.

Simply add a new column to the Courses/Groups

grid and select Standard code or Compulsory for the column drop down.

When adding a legend to a report card, you

now have the ability to include the Numeric

equivalent for each grade translation. Once a

grade translation is selected, mark the box for

Numeric equivalent to select to include it.

Finally, schools can now add Test Scores to

report cards. When in Design form, expand the

Summary section and drag over Test scores to

include them on the report card. Managers can

then specify which Test scores they would like to include on the report card.

In addition, we've added a character counter to

student To Do tasks, letting them know when

they're nearing the 500 character limit.

From Marking periods & grade access,

academic group managers and teachers can

now set marking period and school year cumulative grade access.

Edit the marking period you want to modify and

you can now select whether or not to show,

hide, or only show these grades for a certain

amount of time for the following roles:

Advisors,

Dorm supervisors,

Parents,

Students,

and Coaches.

We've also kicked off an Early Adopter

Program for the new Transcript builder!

This updated Transcript builder works on the

same drag and drop interface as the recently

mentioned Report card builder. Schools can get

a visual of their transcript as they build it!

Managers drag different sections and data from

the tool tray to transcript view.

If your school is interested in participating in

our EAP for Transcript builder, check out our

release letter for a link to sign up!

Enrollment management

Inquiry, Application, and School forms now

support additional gender options. In addition

to Male and Female, admissions

managers can select Other.

Existing forms won't have this option available

by default to avoid showing Other where it

wasn't previously available. New forms that are

built have this option enabled by default, but it can be turned off if desired.

When working with School Forms for

candidates or students, admissions managers

can now view and download attachments from

Files and Forms on the sidebar.

These files include any attachments currently on the Candidate Profile.

Excited about this addition?

We'll have more to say about the Files and Forms tile in the future.

Stay tuned.

Remember to check out the release letter for

details about features mentioned in this video

and information about additional new features and enhancements.

As always, thanks for watching!
