K-pop video director Cha Eun-taek is set to face the first hearing in his criminal trial.

The Seoul Central District Court will focus on verifying the documented evidence collected

by prosecutors and approved by the defendant.

Cha is accused of using his ties with Choi Soon-sil to pressure the head of a small ad

company who bought the former in-house ad company of POSCO, to hand over the majority

of its share to him.

Four others involved in the case will also be in the dock today.

Cha is denying the charges.
