hello everyone!
today we will take a look at Croup manor
we will make a quick tour just to see
as you see we are
on a big house
which have small problems
like this wall
this floor, everything
the inside walls
here another hole in the floor
it has been destroyed, there's holes everywhere
and today we gonna fix this!
in the simpliest way
even if it's one hell of a job
we will try to keep it simple
ready? let's go
before starting
I've just thought about it
I've removed them but
there's a dead ghoul in this hole
and in this one too
I've removed them but they do respawn
if someone has a solution I'll take it
without mods of course
I want to find a way because
we will fix the house
and they will respawn
it's the biggest problem of this settlement
first we are going to fix the ceiling of the first floor
and the floor of the second floor
because if we do it after we will have problems with our walls
to do it
we use
a small floor
a flat wall
I use this one because it's a thin flat wall
I'll explain how it works
an upper shack floor
which are floors we can put on top of the walls
so you can have an other level
here
we will put another floor on top of it
but not how I've shown you last time
because it was a painfull technique
and someone learn me a better
that Youtuber JUG has found
he use a lot of concrete
and he found this trick to
stack floors in a way easier way than mine
as you see you put
your side floors and the last one
you put those stairs which are in the floor tab
then you only have to add
a floor and stand on it
select it
gravity will do it's trick
don't touch your joystick then press X again
remove the side floors
and it couldn't be stacked
any better
remove that too
obviously...
put a rug in front of it
this one will be for this hole
we try to align it the best we can
the most on the left
without stiking out of the wall
we will check how it looks upstairs
it's almost the same height
if you only put the upper shack floor you'll have a slight hole
so it looks better this way
if your tiles are on the same side
it will looks good
obviously this isn't usefull anymore
store it
we can even store this because I don't like when
there's one and not the others
there's a hole in the ceiling but the floor is fixed
now we will look at
that hole
same technique
except this time we will use
the second kind of wood floors
just for the style
you can use the other ones
this is so much faster this way
align it the best you can
if you struggle like me
it may be because
your small floor is on the wrong side of the wall
sometime this tiny details make all the difference
here we are
there's a tiny gap
obviously the rug
is lost but
we can retrieve it easily
try to put your wall inside the house wall
so we're sure that our floor is well paced
it has to fill the hole
this will do
we will not let that wall
because it leaves a big gap under it
you'll see later
now this hole which is a bit more challenging
for this one we will use
once again a floor
obviously
I say floor and I put a wall...
an upper shack floor
as you see we have a small pile
of "dirt"
this wil allow us, unlike the rest of the house
here you see we can't sink the pillar
we can't sink the pillar through the floor
but as soon as we are on the pile
we can
group select
once again
it will be easier to select it from the other side
so we don't need the floor
it's not good at all
we see that the height
it's not exactly what we want
now we will check
it's good
it's a bit square
I haven't find a better way
maybe by adjusting the height you'll have a more realistic look
we're good for the floors
we remove this one too
so we only have the upper one
now we will se the holes in the walls
every wall has its technique
let's see this
for the walls
we will start with the big one
the best
is to go near it
here I will use barn walls
because they are taller
but you can use
warehouse walls or
if you use wooden walls
it will be a bit more complicated
if you use wooden walls consider using
not the flat ones because
they are not tall enough
so it will not work
but if you use those ones
those which have
a little bump
it will snap on the floor above it
it would be perfect
but that's not what we want
grab a pillar and group select the whole thing
and we fill the hole while touching the ground
small hint when it's green and you see
the boards of the house
it means you're inside the wall
and it will look like this
we can put a door
like this one
it's not about style it's just to show you
the technique
here
you can also use
the same technique
the tall wall
and put it inside with a pillar
or if you want to use wooden walls
you'll have to use the thick walls
like this one
otherwise it will be too small
a rug
obviously now we will have to
fix the inside walls
those ones
here we will use a quite original trick
by using what I've said
here we can't
sink the pillar in the floor
but very close to the house
there's a tiny pile of dirt
and here we can
what we will do
we will also use barn walls because I like them
this time we put the doorway
on the right
when it doesn't want to snap
a small tip
you put
a floor or a half floor
underneath your
first wall
and a second one next to it
so it will snap to the floor
and you have your
your straight wall
we will use the pillar again
but this one on the side
of the wall
like that
you should and I will do it too
to save before
so you'll not have to repeat it
you'll just have to reload
here we group select
align it with the wall
you see it goes green
lift up
your wall
so we can use the doorway
here it is
a mix between wood and concrete is always nice
now this wall
I have 2 techniques
either you fill it
or
to fill it it's easy put a wall, group select
you go from behind
or we can make it a nicer place
we go in "furniture"
we build 2 bars
and we use the rug glitch, it's been a long time since we've used it
some of you still tends to confuse group selecting and the rug glitch
the rug glitch is when the item is on top of the rug
and we don't hold X
or A on xbox
we highlight it and we just press the button
so we've selected only the rug and the bar moves with it
we try to find a reasonnable lenght
and to remove the rug
we use the technique
of shecklador
we place it as we want to
the problem will be to be precise
and you know that it's not a skill I've mastered
lift it up a bit
and remove the rug
so we have our
bar
and we re-use the rug to do a group select
the other glitch
here it is! and we also hide this small piece of
concrete
and we can have an open kitchen on the living room for example
if we put the kitchen behind
or a bar
we're good for the first floor
you can add some doors
this house is good because
the door we can build
works on it
you see it snaps
a quick advice do not remove this door
because without mods you can't have it
this door doesn't exist in the build menu
do not remove it it will always be good to have it
we will not build the door now
because we will go back and forth a lot
now we will look for those walls
here I like to have access
to have acces to
this outdoor part
for this we need
a doorway
in the wood tab
or this little bumphouse
that will work
if we enter this way
and go out like this
but here we will use
a door for this time
and to add more textures
this metal wall
once again a thick one
because they are higher
than the others
than the flat ones
and we place it
try to avoid the shards in the door way
place it as
best as possible
we can now access it
you just have to put fences
a floor here by glitching it
with a pillar
now this room
for this room we will need
2 thick walls once again
because the height of the house walls
is too tall
and too short to use barn or warehouse walls
so this one
and this one for later
here it's only group selecting
I know it's a big long and boring but the craziest part will comme soon
it's a lot of back and forth
this room is now closed
do whatever you want in it
there's still a lot of thing to fix
but not too many step after all
you see there's this huge hole
to fill
the hole in the ceiling, the wall, the floor
you'll see it will go fast
so
we will look at
the big hole
and that's where things get crazy
we will not just fill the hole
we will fix the wall and the ceiling at the same time
get ready it's a big part
we need
as usual
because every floors have the same height
a small floor
a flat wall
an upper shack floor
and as we see
the hole is L shaped
I know where to put the wall
we will put it on this side
we need a L
that come back to us
then go to the left
now we want
is go up here
we will changethe textures
a tarnished wood as it will be outside
from here
we have our
hole fixed and
I've add the fourth floor just for
texture regularity
now we want to fix our wall
so we need a wooden wall
we will use
this one
we will need
like this
because now we want
our ceiling
3 by 3
it's not done yet
we would like a door here
what I like to use
is the train* tab *not sure of the english designation
and put a door
blue or orange, your choice
there it is
and it will not be enought for this really thick roof
so
we will use almost the same technique
but instead of using regular floors
like this one
we will use upper shack floors again
to add on top of it
I'm not gonna lie it's a really big structure
and it's starting to get dark so we will wait for the day to
continue
it's day time
let's continue
now
we will group select it
but not only a rug on the ground
because we need it to be slightly above the floor
it select the whole thing
we grab a small post
it doesn't need to be sinked far but it has to be just a bit
place it here
let's check here first
we're not really parallel
very important that your wall is parallel otherwise it will not looks good
better
the ceiling
is good
we only have to
fix this
oups
all the way down :-/
just
the hole in the third floor and this wall
we can remove this
this wall
will be where we will put our structure
so we will need
a floor
here, one behind and one on the right
let's go
one on the right
and one behind
and as usual
here a rug is enough
voila!
we can remove this
and check upstairs
if you want it to be very slightly above you can use the same technique as before
because we can see the reinforcement
it doesn't bother me but it's up to you
by lifting the rug just a tiny little bit you should be able to do it
there it is
our repairing of Croup manor
one of the benefits of this house
before placing your massive structure
you put walls
and make a stairway
like this one
this one will not snap
there, then we put
small stairs
with a group select
it's to show you the top
you have access to another floor and you can keep
building and I think we can build
very high
at Croup manor
you can build all the way up to here
that's one hell of a view
it's up to you
I'll remove this
your Croup manor is fixed
you can access every room
they're all closed and protected so make your rooms where you want
I'm sorry there's still this wall
this is a quite thick wall
so we can use some concrete
I almost never use it
because I find strange that in a post-apocalyptic world
we can find that much concrete
and there's no machine to make it so how do they do?
I'm not an expert
in building techniques
in real life but
it feels strange to have that much concrete
in a place
as devastated as this one
we plae our wall inside the other
try to be
parallel
and it's done
we have another room
obviously you tools
store them
and our Croup manor is fixed
entirely fixed
that's all for today
I hope you enjoyed it and it will be usefull
I wanted to say that I've already done this video on my english channel
it was without DLC back then so it's not exactly the same
so if you're interested you can check it it's a quite long video
but if you don't have the DLC it's worth watching
Have a nice day
