Youtube daily report Oct 29 2017

Welcome To The Top Daily Breaking News and Here is the latest news updates for you.

Harvey Weinstein got publicly accused by 59 women of harassment, assault and rape and

immediately lost his company, his family, faces possible prosecution and got booted

from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

Reporter Mark Halperin got accused of sexual misconduct by five women and immediately lost

gigs at both NBC and MSNBC, lost his Penguin publishing contract, and HBO killed a planned

movie based on his reporting.

Fox swine Bill O'Reilly, Roger Ailes and Eric Bolling (to name just three) got accused

of all kinds of awful sexual behavior by dozens, often paid out millions, and when it all became

public after decades, lost almost everything.

Then there's the horror in the White House, Donald Trump.

He was accused by over a dozen women of sexual assault, harassment and misconduct — and

was elected President of the United States.

Meantime, Billy Bush, the dopey former "Today" show host Trump had advised to "Grab them

by the p----," lost his job at NBC for participating in the conversation.

Being the nephew of the former President doesn't protect you, but being the candidate or the

President does.

Tragically, no matter what we American voters like to believe about ourselves, we clearly

still harbor some kind of primitive admiration for what we think of as manly men in the White

House — predators who treat women like objects to be taken at will.

That is all from the news center, Thanks for watching Top daily Breaking News.

Two years ago, I was examined by an eye doctor in Singapore.

The myopia on my right eye was 875 degrees.

Left eye 800 degrees.

I consumed S Lutena (Super Lutein ) for 4 months,

When I went back for my eye test, I requested the doctor to retest 3 times

Because I couldn't believe that my power had dropped 400 degress!

I also do not feel so tired physically.

I consume 3 or 4 capsules a day.

WHY SARMAT (SATAN 2) IS THE MOST POWERFUL MISSILE IN THE WORLD ? - Duration: 7:05.

Russia carried out a successful test of its RS-28 Sarmt nuclear missile as part of Zapad-2017

on Thursday night, the country's defense ministry said.

The exercise, known as Zapad-2017, is the latest iteration of a series of training maneuvers

that began under the Soviet Union in the 1970s.

After a long break following the collapse of communism, Zapad was revived in 1999 and

then was expanded after Vladimir Putin became president at the end of that year.

Zapad, "west" in Russian, used to include military forces from countries under the Warsaw

Pact, the Soviet-led military alliance whose non-Soviet members have now all joined Nato.

Today, the military exercise has shrunk to just two participants — Russia and Belarus

— but it is still viewed warily by military planners in the West.

The rocket, also known as Satan 2 , was fired from the Plestek Cosmodrome and travelled

3,600 miles before hitting a target on the Kura test range.

One official told newspaper Kommersant,"The main aim is to check the rocket's systems

at the moment of leaving the silo, the switching on of the Sarmat's first stage and the following

5 seconds.

It has been developed by Russian missile design company the Makeyev Design Bureau.

In this video, Defense Updates analyses why it the most powerful missile in the world ?

The RS-28 Sarmat is due to replace Soviet R-36M missiles which Nato experts nicknamed

"Satan" meaning the devil.

The R-36M was viewed by US analysts as giving the Soviet Union first strike advantage over

the US.

"Satan 2" is the name given to its more deadly replacement that is the RS-28 Sarmat.

According to the concept of MAD (Mutual Assured Destruction), if the other side knew that

initiating a nuclear strike would also inevitably lead to their own destruction, they will not

initiate a nuclear strike.

So basically MAD prevents a nuclear war.

As United States and NATO are improving their (Ballistic Missile Defense ) BMD systems,

MAD is getting threatened since USA or NATO may be able to intercept Russia's current

nuclear missiles like R-36 Satan.

Sarmat is being designed specifically to penetrate any current or future BMD system.

It is Russia's answer to this strategic problem, and will enable Russia to maintain

the nuclear deterrence vis-à-vis United States and NATO.

According to Russia's military, "'It can beat any defenses' and wipe out entire countries ".

At the end of June 2015, it was reported that the production schedule for the first prototype

of the Sarmat was slipping.

The RS-28 Sarmat was expected to become operational in 2016.

On 10 August 2016, Russia successfully tested the RS-28's first-stage engine named PDU-99

.The first image of this new missile was declassified and unveiled in October 2016.

In May last year it was reported that the production process had been accelerated and

that the missiles would make up 100% of Russia's fixed land-based nuclear arsenal by 2021.

Sarmat uses Liquid Propellant the exact nature of which is classified.

The missile has a speed of over Mach 20.7 .It weigh in at a massive 100 tons, making

it the heaviest missile in the world.

To give viewers a perspective, the US land based strategic missile LGM-30 Minuteman 3,

has a weight of 35 tons approximately.

Speaking to Radio Sputnik, Alexei Leonov a military expert and commercial director of

"Arsenal of the Fatherland" magazine provide insight about the missile.

The military expert emphasized that Sarmat will serve as a reliable deterrent.

Leonkov highlighted the particular interest of the US and European mainstream media towards

the Russian missile, which was dubbed the "devil in disguise", "Satan" and "weapons

of nuclear hell."

Leonov said, "Let them call it what they want.

The [Sarmat] missile system which is about to enter into service is a fifth generation

system.

Its characteristics are so impressive that our opponents have reason to be afraid of

it.

According to some estimates, the missile's striking range is up to 18,000 kilometers

[11,184.6 miles].

It also has a large number of divided parts, from 10 to 15 warheads, each with a capacity

of up to 750 kilotons.

They will fly to their target at hypersonic speeds performing maneuvers so that the existing

American missile defense system would be incapable of intercepting them".

Little Boy atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima had a yield of 15 kt of TNT.

Samrat's cumulative explosive power will be 15 warheads multiply by 750 kt that is

around 11,000 kt of TNT

The Russian news outlet Sputnik reported in May that an RS-28 rocket is "capable of

wiping out parts of the Earth the size of France or Texas".

And by the these figures its seems that the analysis is correct.

Leonov expressed his confidence that the Krasnoyarsk Machine-Building Plant will hit its deadline

and Sarmat will enter service on schedule.

Land Based missiles are vulnerable to preemptive strikes and hence Russian experts are going

great lengths to shield it.

The Sarmat's silos will be protected by active protection measures including 100 guns

capable of firing a metallic cloud of 40,000 30 mm bullets to an altitude of up to 6 km.

The Russians are also planning to protect the Sarmat with their new S-500 air defense

systems.

S-500 system can detect incoming ballistic missiles or aircrafts at a range of 2000 km.

It designed to intercept them at a range of 500-600 km.

Finally, the missile's preparation to launch is under 60 seconds utilizing a highly automated

launch system.

All in, the Sarmat will be the best protected silo-based intercontinental ballistic missile

ever put into service worldwide.

The Dance - Garth Brooks (Covered by Naotoshi Maeda) with Lyrics - Duration: 3:53.

Looking back on the memory of The dance we shared beneath the stars above

For a moment all the world was right How could I have known you'd ever say goodbye

And now I'm glad I didn't know The way it all would end the way it all would

go Our lives are better left to chance I could

have missed the pain But I'd have to miss the dance

Holding you I held everything For a moment wasn't I the king

But if I'd only known how the king would fall Hey who's to say you know I might have changed

it all And now I'm glad I didn't know

The way it all would end the way it all would go

Our lives are better left to chance I could have missed the pain

But I'd of had to miss the dance Yes my life is better left to chance

I could have missed the pain but I'd of had to miss the dance

Truths That Transform - NEEDED: A New Reformation - Duration: 28:31.

D. JAMES KENNEDY MINISTRIES PRESENTS

TRUTHS THAT TRANSFORM.

500 YEARS AGO MARTIN LUTHER RE-DISCOVERED GRACE

BASED ON THE TRUTH AND AUTHORITY OF THE BIBLE.

WE'LL EXAMINE THE IMPACT OF THE REFORMATION-

TODAY ON TRUTHS THAT TRANSFORM.

THIS IS TRUTHS THAT TRANSFORM.

WELCOME TO TRUTHS THAT TRANSFORM, A PRODUCTION OF

D. JAMES KENNEDY MINISTRIES, WHERE WE ARE STANDING FOR

TRUTH AND DEFENDING YOUR FREEDOM.

I'M DR. FRANK WRIGHT, AND I INVITE YOU TO TRY A

FREE, THREE-MONTH SUBSCRIPTION TO OUR

MONTHLY IMPACT NEWSLETTER.

THE NEXT ISSUE TAKES A LOOK AT "10 WAYS THE

REFORMATION HELPED GIVE BIRTH TO AMERICA."

JUST CALL TOLL-FREE, 877-962-7677

TO BEGIN YOUR FREE SUBSCRIPTION.

ONCE AGAIN, THAT'S 877-962-7677.

JUST A FEW DAYS FROM NOW, ON OCTOBER 31ST, IT WILL

BE EXACTLY 500 YEARS TO THE DAY SINCE MARTIN

LUTHER NAILED HIS 95 THESES TO THE CHURCH DOOR

IN WITTENBERG, GERMANY, AND SPARKED THE PROTESTANT

REFORMATION.

ON TODAY'S PROGRAM, YOU'LL SEE THE COMPELLING STORY

OF THAT DRAMATIC CONFRONTATION, AND YOU'LL

DISCOVER THE RELEVANCE OF THE REFORMATION FOR YOUR

OWN SOUL.

AS WE BEGIN, WE'RE JOINED BY A SCHOLAR OF CHURCH

HISTORY TO HELP US UNDERSTAND ALL THIS.

DR. PETER LILLBACK IS PRESIDENT OF THE

PROVIDENCE FORUM, AND IS ALSO A BEST-SELLING AUTHOR

AND PROFESSOR OF HISTORICAL THEOLOGY AS

WELL AS OF CHURCH HISTORY.

PETER, THANKS FOR JOINING US.

IT'S GREAT TO HAVE YOU HERE.

THANK YOU FRANK, IT'S A PLEASURE TO BE WITH YOU AGAIN.

ALWAYS GOOD TO HAVE YOU WITH US.

WE'RE CELEBRATING THE 500TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE

PROTESTANT REFORMATION.

AND MUCH WILL BE SAID AND HAS BEEN WRITTEN ABOUT IT.

IF SOMEONE WERE TO ASK YOU, "DR. LILLBACK,

GIVE ME YOUR THUMBNAIL SKETCH OF WHAT'S THE HEART

OF THE REFORMATION.

WHAT WAS THE ESSENCE OF WHAT HAPPENED 500 YEARS AGO?"

WELL, THE WORD REFORMATION HAS THE IDEA OF BEING

RESHAPED TO AN ORIGINAL STANDARD.

WE HAVE REFORMATIONS GOING ON IN MANY SPHERES OF LIFE

AND SO THIS WAS THE TIME WHEN THE CHURCH WAS

REQUIRED BY LUTHER'S COURAGE AND THOSE THAT

FOLLOWED HIM TO BE MEASURED, ONCE AGAIN, BY

SOLA SCRIPTURA- THE SCRIPTURES ALONE AS THE

STANDARD FOR THE CHURCH'S FAITH AND PRACTICE.

SO, IN A SIMPLE STATEMENT, THE REFORMATION IS ABOUT

BEING FAITHFUL TO THE BIBLE ONCE AGAIN IN THE

HISTORY OF THE CHURCH'S LIFE.

LET'S TALK ABOUT THE POLITICAL IMPLICATIONS.

BECAUSE, WHEN YOU WALK THROUGH THE ROTUNDA OF THE

US CAPITOL, ONE OF THE EIGHT GREAT PORTRAITS

HANGING IN THE ROTUNDA IS OF THE PILGRIMS LANDING AT

PLYMOUTH ROCK AND THERE'S AN OPEN BIBLE IN THAT

SCENE AND IT'S THE BIBLE WITH CALVIN'S COMMENTARY

ON THE SIDELINES OR ON THE MARGINS.

WHAT IMPACT DID THE PROTESTANT REFORMATION

HAVE ON WHAT WE SOMETIMES REFER TO AS THE AMERICAN

EXPERIMENT?

WELL, THE SILENT WITNESS OF THE IMPACT IS EVIDENT

EVERY TIME WE SEE A PRESIDENT TAKING THE OATH

OF OFFICE.

HOW DID THAT BIBLE GET THERE?

WHY DOES HE PUT HIS HAND ON IT AND TAKE AN OATH?

BECAUSE THAT WAS THE STANDARD OF TRUTH, IT WAS

THE STANDARD OF AUTHORITY.

IT WAS A WAY OF SAYING THAT, "I AM TAKING A VOW

IN THE PRESENCE OF GOD BECAUSE THIS IS GOD'S WORD

AND I WILL BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR MY WORD

BASED UPON THE TEACHING OF THAT SCRIPTURES.

SO THE BIBLE CREATED, IF YOU WILL, THE STANDARDS OF

MORALITY AS WELL AS THE RELIGION THAT SHAPED THE

IDEAS OF FREEDOM.

THE IDEA OF THE BIBLE BEING IMPORTANT FOR

AMERICAN CULTURE IS SEEN IN THE FACT THAT

WASHINGTON- AT THE END OF THE REVOLUTION- SAID WE'LL

NEVER BE A HAPPY NATION UNLESS WE IMITATE THE

DIVINE AUTHOR OF OUR BLESSED RELIGION.

IN OTHER WORDS, HE WAS SAYING WE NEED TO KNOW THE

BIBLE AND WHO CHRIST IS IF WE'RE GOING TO HAVE A

SUCCESSFUL NATION.

IT'S PLANTED THERE RIGHT FROM THE BEGINNING.

ONE OF THE HALLMARKS OF THE PRE-REFORMATION

CHURCH, AT LEAST FOR INDIVIDUAL CHRISTIANS,

WAS KIND OF A COMPARTMENTALIZATION OF

LIFE WHERE YOU LIVED A SECULAR LIFE SIX DAYS A

WEEK AND ON SUNDAY YOU SORT OF DID ALL YOUR

RELIGIOUS THINGS TOGETHER.

HOW DID THE REFORMATION CHANGE THAT?

ONE OF THE PRINCIPLES OF THE REFORMATION,

ESPECIALLY, IN THE REFORMED AND CALVINISTIC

TRADITION EMPHASIZED THAT THE TEN COMMANDMENTS ARE

REALLY THE HEART OF OUR DUTIES TO GOD AND TO OUR

NEIGHBOR.

AND IT'S FASCINATING THAT THE FOURTH COMMANDMENT

SAYS, "SIX DAYS YOU SHALL WORK AND THEN YOU SHALL

KEEP THE SABBATH."

IN OTHER WORDS, THE ENTIRE WEEK IS AN EXPRESSION OF

WORSHIP.

IT'S IN THE FIRST TABLE OF THE LAW AND HOW WE LOVE

AND WORSHIP GOD.

NOW THERE'S SPECIAL WORSHIP.

WHAT WE DO ON SUNDAYS, BUT THERE'S DAILY WORSHIP THAT

IS JUST AS MUCH PART OF WHAT GOD WOULD HAVE FOR US.

AND, OF COURSE, THAT THEN CREATES THE PROTESTANT

WORK ETHIC.

SIX DAYS ARE WORSHIPING GOD, GIVING GOD YOUR BEST

FOR HIS GLORY.

AND THEN OUT OF THE FRUITS OF THAT WE HAVE TIME TO

STOP AND WORSHIP GOD AND SHARE OUT OF THE FRUITS OF

WHAT WE'VE ACCUMULATED TO ADVANCE HIS KINGDOM.

WORK AND WORSHIP GO HAND IN HAND IN THE REFORMED

TRADITION AND THAT COMES RIGHT OUT OF THE

REFORMATION.

MARTIN LUTHER WAS EXORCISED ABOUT SOME VERY

SPECIFIC THINGS.

I MEAN HE NAILED A LIST OF 95 THINGS ON THE DOOR OF

THE CHURCH AT WITTENBERG.

WHAT WERE SOME OF THE SPECIFIC CONCERNS THAT

LUTHER HAD?

WELL, THE SPECIFIC ISSUE WAS THE PROBLEM OF

INDULGENCES.

IT'S A COMPLICATED STORY, BUT IT IN A SIMPLE

NARRATIVE WE CAN SAY THIS: THAT OVER TIME THE

PRACTICE OF PENANCE, NOT FOUND IN THE BIBLE,

RATHER, THE IDEA THAT THE PRIEST IS GOING TO TELL

YOU WHAT TO DO TO MAKE UP FOR YOUR SINS INSTEAD OF

REPENTANCE- TURNING FROM YOUR SIN AND THEN ASKING

GOD TO FORGIVE YOU- THE CHURCH WAS GOING TO TELL

YOU WHAT YOU DO AND THEN YOU COULD THEN FIND

RESTORATION, SATISFACTION.

NOW SOMETIMES WHAT YOU'RE ASKED TO DO IS UTTERLY

IMPOSSIBLE AND DIFFICULT AND SO THEY GAVE YOU AN

INDULGENCE; THEY SAID, "WELL, LET'S HELP YOU

WITH THIS."

AND THEY SAID, "WELL HOW ABOUT IF YOU PAY A FINE

INSTEAD OF YOUR DOING 100 HAIL MARYS' AFTER 20 MILES

OF TRAVELING TO THE SHRINE."

AND SO THAT BEGAN THE PROCESS AND THEN, BECAUSE

IT WAS LUCRATIVE AND PRACTICAL, IT WAS APPLIED

TO MANY OTHER THINGS LIKE, "WHAT ABOUT THE SOUL IN

PURGATORY.

CAN WE BUY INDULGENCES FOR THE DEAD?

WILL IT HELP ME WITH FUTURE SINS?

WHAT IF I'M GOING TO DO SOMETHING WRONG?

IF I BUY AN INDULGENCE WILL IT COVER IT?"

"YEA, IT'LL COVER THAT TOO."

I THINK THE BOTTOM LINE IS, IS THAT THOSE KIND OF

HUMAN INVENTIONS WERE GOING ON AND THAT'S WHERE

LUTHER, UNWITTINGLY, WHEN HE NAILED THE 95 THESES TO

THE WITTENBERG CHURCH DOOR DIDN'T KNOW HE WAS

STARTING A REFORMATION.

HE DIDN'T KNOW HE WAS GOING TO BREAK FROM

THE CATHOLIC CHURCH.

HE SAW HIMSELF AS A FAITHFUL ROMAN CATHOLIC

PRIEST TRYING TO JUST REFORM THE CHURCH ON THIS

SPECIFIC AREA AND SOME OTHER AREAS HE WAS

CONCERNED ABOUT.

LO AND BEHOLD WHEN THEY CONDEMNED HIM AS A

HERETIC.

HE SAID, "ALL I'VE DONE IS TEACH THE BIBLE.

IF THIS IS SIN ENOUGH TO BE CONDEMNED THEN WHOEVER

WROTE THESE IS AN ANTI-CHRIST BECAUSE HE'S

STANDING AGAINST THE BIBLE.

AND THAT WAS THE EPIPHANY FOR LUTHER WHEN HE

REALIZED, "I'M LAUNCHING A NEW RETURN TO THE BIBLE

WITH THE CHURCH THAT DOESN'T WANT TO FOLLOW THE

SCRIPTURES."

AND HE WAS WILLING TO DIE FOR THAT FAITH.

AND THAT'S WHY 500 YEARS LATER, WE'RE STILL TALKING

ABOUT WHAT THEY DID, BECAUSE WHAT THEY DID WE

CONTINUE TO NEED TO DO.

IT CHANGED THE WORLD THEN AND WHEN THE REFORMATION

PRINCIPLES ARE TAKEN SERIOUSLY, THEY CHANGE

OUR LIVES.

AND THEY CHANGE OUR WORLD.

AND WE NEED A NEW REFORMATION BECAUSE THE

WORLD IS CONSTANTLY MOVING AWAY FROM GOD IN HIS WORD

AND WE NEED TO SAY, COME BACK TO THE TRUTH OF

SCRIPTURES.

BECAUSE HERE THERE IS A PLACE TO STAND AND BUILD

YOUR LIFE.

PETER THANKS FOR BEING WITH US.

WE'RE DELIGHTED TO HAVE YOU HERE.

IT'S A GREAT HONOR TO BE WITH YOU AGAIN, FRANK.

GOD'S CONTINUED BLESSINGS ON YOUR EXTRAORDINARY

MINISTRY.

THANK YOU.

AS DR. LILLBACK HAS SHARED WITH US, THE PROTESTANT

REFORMATION BROUGHT A NECESSARY SHIFT TO THE

CHURCH, AWAY FROM MAN-MADE TRADITIONS AND BACK

TOWARDS THE WORD OF GOD AS THE ONLY INFALLIBLE RULE

FOR LIFE AND FOR FAITH.

THE CHURCH IS ALWAYS IN NEED OF REFORMING WITH THE

WORD OF GOD AS THE STANDARD- AND SO ARE WE,

AS DR. KENNEDY SHARES IN THIS PORTION OF HIS

MESSAGE, "A NEW REFORMATION."

AS WE ALL KNOW, OCTOBER 31ST IS

IS WHAT?

WELL, IF YOU ASK THE AVERAGE AMERICAN, I THINK

THE RESPONSE WOULD BE INSTANTANEOUS: "IT'S

HALLOWEEN."

WELL, YES, BUT IT IS ALSO SOMETHING FAR, FAR MORE

IMPORTANT THAN THAT.

IT IS REFORMATION DAY.

IT IS THE BIRTHDAY OF THE PROTESTANT REFORMATION.

IT IS THE DAY WHEN WE CELEBRATE THE RECLAIMING

OF THE GOSPEL OF GRACE FROM OUT OF THE MIST AND

DARKNESS OF THE DARK AGES.

IT IS A DAY THAT ALL OF US WHO KNOW CHRIST ARE

BLESSED BY.

TODAY OF COURSE IS REFORMATION SUNDAY.

ABOUT 500 YEARS AGO THIS DAY, MARTIN LUTHER NAILED

UP HIS 95 THESES ON THE DOOR OF WITTENBERG ON

OCTOBER 31ST.

AND THEN, MY FRIEND, THERE WAS THE BEGINNING OF A

CONTINENT-WIDE MOVEMENT THAT THE GOSPEL OF THE

SCRIPTURES OF THE GRACE OF GOD, NOT THROUGH THE MERIT

OF MAN BUT THE GRACE OF JESUS CHRIST AND THE

PERFECT OBEDIENCE OF CHRIST AND HIS ATONING

DEATH FOR OUR SINS, HOW HIS BLOOD WASHES AWAY

OUR SIN AND HIS OBEDIENCE CLOTHES US IN A PERFECT

WHITE RIGHTEOUSNESS- THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF CHRIST

ALONE, FAULTLESS TO STAND BEFORE THE THRONE.

AND THINGS BEGAN TO BE STIRRED UP.

PEOPLE WERE REJOICING IN THEIR NEW-FOUND FAITH IN

THE BLESSED ASSURANCE THAT THEY HAD ETERNAL LIFE.

FOR AS LONG AS ONE IS STRIVING TO SAVE ONE'S OWN

SOUL, HE CAN NEVER BE SURE THAT HE WILL MAKE IT, AND

THUS HE IS FILLED WITH DOUBT.

NO ONE CAN SAVE HIS OWN SOUL.

MARTIN LUTHER HAD MADE THE GREATEST DISCOVERY OF HIS

LIFE OR OF ANY LIFE.

HE HAD DISCOVERED THE GRACE OF GOD, THAT WE

CANNOT SAVE OUR OWN SOULS, BUT THAT JESUS CHRIST CAME

FROM HEAVEN, AND THERE IN THE AGONY, THE

EXCRUCIATING AGONY OF THE CROSS, HE DIED TO SAVE

THEM FOR US.

HE DISCOVERED THE WONDROUS GRACE OF CHRIST.

HE WROTE A LETTER, WHICH I THINK, IS SO REVEALING OF

HIS HEART'S PASSION.

I WOULD JUST LIKE TO ASK YOU, HOW WOULD YOU LIKE TO

RECEIVE A LETTER LIKE THIS FROM SOMEONE LIKE MARTIN

LUTHER?

IT WAS TO A DEAR FRIEND OF HIS, GEORGE SPALATIN,

AND THIS IS WHAT HE SAID TO HIM.

HE SAID, "DEAR GEORGE."

HE SAID, "HOW IS IT WITH YOUR SOUL?"

EVER GOTTEN A LETTER LIKE THAT?

I HAVEN'T.

I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW: HOW IS IT WITH YOUR SOUL?

WE TALK ABOUT EVERY CONCEIVABLE WORLDLY,

EARTHLY, TEMPORAL THING IN OUR LETTERS, BUT HAVE YOU

EVER WRITTEN OR GOTTEN A LETTER LIKE THAT?

AND HE WENT ON TO SAY, "I WOULD VERY MUCH LIKE TO

KNOW HOW IT IS WITH YOUR SOUL?"

HE DID NOT BELIEVE THAT HIS FRIEND SPALATIN REALLY

KNEW CHRIST, AND HE SAID, "IS YOUR SOUL WEARY OF ITS

OWN RIGHTEOUSNESS?"

IS YOURS?

DEAR FRIEND, DO YOU TIRE OF TRUSTING IN YOURSELF?

WOULD YOU LIKE TO LEARN TO SING A NEW SONG?

REALIZE THAT YOUR OWN RIGHTEOUSNESS IS BUT

FILTHY RAGS, AND LOOK TO JESUS CHRIST AND SAY,

"LORD JESUS, THOU ART MY RIGHTEOUSNESS, AND I AM

YOUR SIN."

THAT IS THE GOSPEL, DEAR FRIEND.

HE SAID THAT THE GOSPEL WAS THE VERITABLE "GATE OF

GOD" OPENING INTO PARADISE.

AND SO IT TRANSFORMED MANY OF THE NATIONS OF EUROPE,

SPREAD OVER TO GREAT BRITAIN AND SAILED ACROSS

THE SEA.

THE PILGRIMS, THE PURITANS, WERE ALL

FOLLOWERS OF JOHN CALVIN, WHO WAS A FOLLOWER OF

MARTIN LUTHER, AND SO, INDIRECTLY, HE FOUNDED

THIS COUNTRY.

AND INTERESTINGLY, THOSE NATIONS WHICH HAVE

ACCEPTED THIS MESSAGE HAVE BEEN BLESSED BY GOD, AND

THOSE THAT HAVE REJECTED IT HAVE BECOME A PART OF

THE BACKWASH OF HISTORY.

IT'S TRUE NOT ONLY WITH EVERY NATION, BUT EVERY

SOUL AS WELL.

IT HAS BEEN SAID THAT JUSTIFICATION BY FAITH

ALONE IS THE ARTICLE OF A STANDING OR FALLING

CHURCH, OF A STANDING OR FALLING NATION, OF A

STANDING OR FALLING SOUL.

DEAR FRIEND, HOW IS IT WITH YOUR SOUL THIS DAY?

DO YOU KNOW THAT YOU ARE RIGHT WITH GOD?

AS DR. KENNEDY JUST EXPLAINED, THE REFORMATION

HAD A MASSIVE IMPACT ON WHAT BECAME THE WESTERN

WORLD.

AND IT BROUGHT BACK THE CENTRAL POINT THAT WE EACH

MUST STAND ON OUR OWN BEFORE GOD'S JUDGMENT.

WE'LL HAVE MORE TO SAY ABOUT THAT A BIT LATER IN

THE PROGRAM.

BUT WE MUST ALSO NOT FORGET THAT THE

REFORMATION BEGAN- 500 YEARS AGO THIS WEEK- WITH

A VERY COMPELLING STORY.

DR. JERRY NEWCOMBE HAS MORE.

THE YEAR 2017 CELEBRATES THE 500TH ANNIVERSARY OF

THE NAILING OF THE 95 THESES ON INDULGENCES BY

MARTIN LUTHER TO THE CASTLE CHURCH DOOR IN

WITTENBERG, GERMANY.

SO THAT'S OFTEN TAKEN BY SCHOLARS AS THE BEGINNING

OF THE PROTESTANT REFORMATION.

SO IF YOU EVER HEAR THE WORD "PROTESTANT" THAT'S

WHERE IT ALL BEGINS.

ON OCTOBER 31ST, 1517, A YOUNG MONK NAMED MARTIN

LUTHER NAILED A LIST OF DISAGREEMENTS WITH THE

ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH TO THE CATHEDRAL DOOR IN

WITTENBERG, GERMANY.

IN DOING SO, HE TOUCHED OFF A REFORMATION THAT

WOULD TURN THE WORLD UPSIDE DOWN.

AND TO THINK, IT ALL BEGAN BECAUSE OF A THUNDERSTORM.

HISTORY PROFESSOR DR. RICHARD WEIKART OF

CALIFORNIA STATE UNIVERSITY, STANISLAUS,

RECENTLY TRAVELED TO GERMANY TO RETRACE THE

STEPS OF MARTIN LUTHER, WHO INITIALLY SET OUT TO

BE A LAWYER, TO MAKE HIS FATHER HAPPY.

IN 1505, LUTHER'S LIFE TOOK A DRAMATIC TURN HERE

OUTSIDE OF ERFURT AT THE LUTHERAN STONE MEMORIAL.

AT THAT TIME HE WAS CONFRONTED BY A

THUNDERSTORM THAT MADE HIM SO FRIGHTENED THAT HE

CALLED OUT TO ST. ANNE, ASKING FOR HELP.

IF SHE HELPED, HE WOULD BECOME A MONK.

TO THE CONSTERNATION OF HIS FATHER, HE KEPT THAT

PLEDGE.

LUTHER WAS A ZEALOUS MONK, CONFESSING HIS SINS OFTEN

AND PERFORMING WORKS OF CONTRITION AND

SELF-DENIAL.

HE ONCE COMMENTED, "IF EVER A MONK COULD GET INTO

HEAVEN THROUGH MONASTIC DISCIPLINE, I WAS THAT

MONK."

BUT SOON HE LEARNED THE FUTILITY OF TRYING TO RELY

UPON HIS WORKS TO GET HIS SALVATION.

AFTER LUTHER CAME IN 1511 TO WITTENBERG, HE RECEIVED

HIS DOCTORATE OF THEOLOGY AND THEN BEGAN LECTURING

ON THE BIBLICAL BOOKS OF THE PSALMS, ROMANS,

GALATIANS, AND HEBREWS.

OVER TIME, HIS BIBLICAL STUDIES CONVINCED HIM

SALVATION WAS A GIFT FROM GOD, AND ROMANS 1:17

BECAME HIS WATCHWORD, "THE JUST SHALL LIVE BY FAITH."

THIS IS THE CASTLE CHURCH DOOR IN WITTENBERG, WHERE

LUTHER ALLEGEDLY NAILED UP THE 95 THESES ON

OCTOBER 31ST, 1517.

LUTHER'S DOCUMENT WAS RESPONDING TO THE CRASS

INDULGENCE PREACHING OF THE DOMINICAN MONK,

JOHANNES TETZEL, WHO TOLD THE PEOPLE, "AS SOON AS

THE COIN IN THE COFFER CLINGS, A SOUL FROM

PURGATORY SPRINGS."

PURGATORY WAS, ACCORDING TO CATHOLIC TEACHING, A

TEMPORARY PLACE OF PUNISHMENT FOR PEOPLE WHO

WEREN'T QUALIFIED YET TO GET INTO HEAVEN.

LUTHER WAS OUTRAGED BY THAT PREACHING AND RIGHTLY

CHARGED THAT THE SALE OF INDULGENCES WERE MOTIVATED

BY GREED, RATHER THAN COMPASSION FOR SOULS.

THESE INDULGENCES HAD BEEN COMMISSIONED BY LEO X TO

HELP BUILD ST. PETER'S CATHEDRAL.

POPE LEO X WAS ENRAGED BY LUTHER'S CHALLENGE TO THE

INDULGENCES HE'D AUTHORIZED.

SO HE TRIED TO BRING THE GERMAN MONK INTO

SUBMISSION.

IN OCTOBER 1518, THE POPE SENT CARDINAL CAJETAN AS

HIS REPRESENTATIVE TO TRY TO CONVINCE LUTHER TO

RECANT.

WHEN LUTHER HAD REFUSED TO RECANT HIS TEACHINGS ABOUT

JUSTIFICATION BY FAITH, THE POPE FINALLY

EXCOMMUNICATED LUTHER IN 1520.

REPEATEDLY, THE CHURCH AND THEN THE EMPEROR CHARLES V

PUT PRESSURE ON LUTHER TO RECANT.

BUT THE HUMBLE FORMER MONK FAMOUSLY SAID IN 1521

DURING ONE OF THOSE CONFRONTATIONS- AT THE

DIET OF WORMS.

BY SO DECLARING THIS, AT THAT TIME, HE COULD

HAVE BEEN SIGNING HIS DEATH WARRANT.

A CENTURY BEFORE BOHEMIAN PRIEST JOHN HUS ALSO

REFUSED TO RECANT HIS EVANGELICAL BELIEFS.

AND HE WAS DELIVERED UP TO THE FLAMES AS A HERETIC.

BUT LUTHER EXPERIENCED A DIFFERENT OUTCOME BECAUSE

OF THE INTERVENTION OF HIS LOCAL MAGISTRATE- RIGHT

AFTER THE DIET OF WORMS.

AND ON HIS WAY BACK TO WITTENBERG, HIS FRIENDLY

PRINCE, ELECTOR FREDERICK THE WISE HAD HIM KIDNAPPED

AND BROUGHT TO THIS CASTLE WHERE HE REMAINED

INCOGNITO FOR ABOUT 10 MONTHS.

DURING THAT TIME, LUTHER DIDN'T WASTE HIS TIME, BUT

HE TRANSLATED THE BIBLE INTO GERMAN, WHICH BECAME

THE BASIS FOR MODERN HIGH GERMAN AND GAVE THE BIBLE

TO THE COMMON PEOPLE, SO THEY COULD READ IT FOR

THEMSELVES AND SEE IF HIS TEACHINGS WERE TRUE.

THE BIBLE WAS ALWAYS HELD IN VERY HIGH ESTEEM, BUT

IT WAS THOUGHT DURING MEDIEVAL TIMES THAT ONLY

THE EDUCATED, ONLY THE PRIESTS, THE PROFESSORS

COULD UNDERSTAND THE BIBLE.

NOW LUTHER REVOLUTIONIZED THAT AND SAID, "THE BIBLE

NEEDS TO GO TO EVERYONE.

IT NEEDS TO BE THE SPEECH OF PEOPLE LIKE YOU AND ME,

AND IT NEEDS TO BE TOUCHING THEM."

THIS PRINTING PRESS HERE AT THE LUTHER HOUSE

ILLUSTRATES THE WAY THAT LUTHER'S MESSAGE WAS TO

GET OUT TO THE PEOPLE.

HIS BIBLE TRANSLATION AND HIS PAMPHLETS WERE TO

SPREAD FAR AND WIDE THROUGHOUT GERMANY, USING

THIS NEW INVENTION, WHICH CAME OUT IN THE LATE 15TH

CENTURY.

THE CORE OF THE REFORMATIONS ACTIVITY WAS

TO BRING PEOPLE BACK TO THE WORD OF GOD AS THE

SOLE STANDARD OF WHAT THE CHURCH BELIEVES, WHAT IT

DOES IN ITS PRACTICE, AND WHAT ARE ITS IMPLICATIONS

FOR CULTURE AND LIFE.

AND SO THE SIMPLE PRINCIPAL IS: THE BIBLE

ALONE OR MORE FANCILY: SOLA SCRIPTURA.

THAT WAS THE HEART OF THE REFORMATION.

WE HAVE ONLY SCRATCHED THE SURFACE TODAY WHEN IT

COMES TO THE IMPACT OF THE PROTESTANT REFORMATION.

BY TAKING US BACK TO THE TEXT OF THE BIBLE, MARTIN

LUTHER, JOHN CALVIN, AND THE OTHER REFORMERS

AND YET THE POWER OF THE WORD OF GOD CONTINUES ON.

IT HELPED BUILD THE WORLD WE LIVE IN, AND IT

CONTINUES TO TRANSFORM LIVES AND CULTURES DAILY.

MY FATHER, DR. D. JAMES KENNEDY, WAS PASSIONATE

WHY HE WROTE THE BOOK WHAT IF THE BIBLE HAD

AS WE REACH THIS LANDMARK 500TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE

EVENT THAT SPARKED THE PROTESTANT REFORMATION,

WITH MARTIN LUTHER PUBLICLY POSTING HIS

95 THESES FOR ALL TO SEE, IT IS ONLY APPROPRIATE TO

STOP FOR A MOMENT AND FOCUS ON THE CENTRAL,

LIFE-CHANGING, AND WORLD-ALTERING TRUTHS THE

REFORMERS REDISCOVERED.

MOST PEOPLE HAVE A STANDARD CONCEPTION OF

GOD AND HEAVEN.

THEY BELIEVE THAT IF WE DO ENOUGH GOOD THINGS- OR AT

LEAST IF WE DO MORE GOOD THINGS THAN BAD THINGS- WE

WILL BE RIGHT WITH GOD AND WILL GO TO HEAVEN.

BUT IN STUDYING THE SCRIPTURES MARTIN LUTHER

LEARNED SOMETHING THAT HORRIFIED HIM.

WHILE MOST OVERLOOK OR IGNORE IT, THE BIBLE

CLEARLY TEACHES THAT ALL OF OUR WORKS- EVEN THE

BEST THINGS WE DO- ARE TAINTED WITH SIN AND CAN

ONLY MERIT GOD'S WRATH.

BECAUSE WE ARE REBELLIOUS SINNERS AT HEART, THERE IS

NO GOOD DEED WE CAN PERFORM, NO OBEDIENCE TO

THE LAW, THAT WILL TAKE GOD'S JUDGMENT OFF OF US.

THIS REALITY TORMENTED LUTHER- UNTIL HE ALSO

DISCOVERED AN AMAZING TRUTH IN THE BOOK OF

GALATIANS.

IN IT THE APOSTLE PAUL SETS FORTH THE KEY TEXT OF

THE REFORMATION WHERE HE SAYS: "NOW IT IS EVIDENT

THAT NO ONE IS JUSTIFIED BEFORE GOD BY THE LAW, FOR

'THE RIGHTEOUS SHALL LIVE BY FAITH."

OUR SIN HAS PUT US AT ENMITY WITH GOD- EVERY ONE

OF US, YOU AND ME.

AND THE PUNISHMENT FOR SIN IS ETERNAL DEATH.

BUT BECAUSE GOD LOVES US, HE SENT HIS VERY OWN SON,

JESUS CHRIST, TO LIVE A PERFECT AND SINLESS LIFE

AND TO DIE IN OUR PLACE.

HE DIED TO PAY THE NECESSARY PUNISHMENT FOR

SIN, AND HE OBEYED GOD PERFECTLY WHERE WE FAILED.

BY PLACING OUR FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST OUR SINS ARE

FORGIVEN AND THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF CHRIST

BECOMES OUR OWN.

THEOLOGIANS CALL THIS THE DOCTRINE OF "JUSTIFICATION

BY FAITH ALONE" OR SOLA FIDE.

THIS IS THE HEART OF WHAT WE CALL THE GOSPEL.

FOR THIS IS INDEED GOOD NEWS- IN FACT THE BEST

POSSIBLE NEWS.

"FOR OUR SAKE GOD MADE HIM MEANING JESUS TO BE SIN

WHO KNEW NO SIN, SO THAT IN HIM WE MIGHT BECOME THE

RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD."

DIY | Transform my Furniture | Mirror & Dresser | (german/english subs) - Duration: 5:36.

Hey and nice that you are back again, don't wonder about this weird video intro

actually I wanted to film another Intro for it but I didn't have the time

so finally I finished my dresser, I also decorated it, maybe you can see it a little bit in the background

I filmed the transformation of it for you, of course it's a design that I like, but maybe you like it too

feel free to leave nice feedback and now I hope you will have fun with the video

I used a simple white mirror, I think you can see that it already has some defects

for the whole base coat you need different brushes but I just used the big brush

then I've got a palette for the acrylic paint

and of course black acrylic paint

you can see the mirror is just screwed together on the back so I started to loosen the screws with a cordless screwdriver

to pull out the mirror so we can paint the frame without masking the mirror

then I filled some acrylic paint into the palette and startet to paint the whole frame

this is how it looks after two layers of paint

for the decoration I used some roses, some of you may know them from my Headpiece DIY

then I used this moon necklace pendant and some lace that I also used in one of my DIY video and a hot glue gun

I started to glue on the moon pendant but you can see that the paint peeled off a little bit

on the bottom part I glued on the lace, this was a little bit tricky because the mirror has an oval shape

so I had to cut into the lace and be careful when you use hot glue and lace

then I started to glue on the roses, at first I used all the roses and glued them on to the lace but I changed it later

you will see it in the finished result, so I glued them on shifted,

for the American Horror Storry dresser I uploaded a font that is called "Hillhouse" and you can see it's almost the same font as in AHS

then white adhesive foil, I used one from "DC Fix"

then you need scissors and you need two different sizes to cut out the details

a sharp pencil, I used a fine liner, it's important to have a pen that is sharp enough to push through the foil

and a ruler to draw the lines

then I measured how much foil I need for the paper and cut it out

then I fixed it with tape on the table so it can't roll up

it's important that you put on the stencil back-to-front, so the font still shows through

it works pretty well and then you start to draw the lines and always use enough pressure so it will show up on the foil later

unfortunately it doesn't show up on camera very well but the "A" pushed through quite good

so I just have to copy the letter and this is the finished result when you copied all the letters

you can see that it looks a little bit messy, then I started to cut out the letters

I put the aside the ones with the spaces to cut them out later

this is how it looks when you finished all the letters

you can see I already put on the "Normal People Scare Me"on the left side, so I oriented to this side and put one some lines with tape

and then I started to put on the letters like I wanted them to have

this is how it looks in daylight or lamp light, I put on the "All monsters are human" centered because I like it better

I put on some lights on the mirror, it's one made of wire because you can bend it better

and my LED lights that you already know, I hope you liked this video

feel free to leave some nice feedback or subscribe to my channel and I hope I see you next time again, bye

The Open Mind: Problem-Solving Heroism - Tom Suozzi - Duration: 29:00.

HEFFNER: I'm Alexander Heffner, your host on The Open Mind.

Hometown heroes.

We want to believe in the integrity of our locally

elected congressional office holders,

representative government, and the promise of its leadership.

My own New York Third District Congressman

Tom Suozzi, who previously served as mayor of

Glen Cove, New York from '94 to 2001 and as Nassau County

Executive from '02 to 2009 is here with me today.

Modeling a courageous, constructive way forward,

an escape from party dogma an intransigence,

Suozzi is vice chair of the Bipartisan Problem

Solvers Caucus, a group of roughly 22 Republicans

and 22 Democrats committed to working across party lines

to try and find real solutions.

The caucus meets regularly,

and recently engaged with the White House and its

staff to consider issues, namely healthcare,

infrastructure, and tax reform.

Thank you Congressman for being here today.

SUOZZI: Alexander, so happy to be on your show today.

Thanks for having me.

HEFFNER: This Problem Solvers Caucus can really

leverage the positive pro-social political

capital that's left in this country.

How are you going to do it?

SUOZZI: It's not easy, I'll tell you that to start with.

The system is designed against bipartisanship.

But we've got about forty-some-odd people

right now that are committed,

equally Democrats and Republicans,

committed to trying to work together to get to

yes, to try and find answers to solve problems.

You know, there's people in Congress that,

you know, the Tea Party for example,

they want to get to know.

They want to try and block things,

the Freedom Caucus.

We want to be an antidote to that.

We want to get to yes to solve problems that exist.

The healthcare debate right now is a great

example of that, where the Republicans decided we'll

just go this alone, we'll do it by ourselves, and it failed.

And now it's resurrecting itself as we speak,

and we're saying no, you can't do it as one party.

It's not gonna work.

Let's get Democrats and Republicans to work together.

Let's all give a little bit but try and get to

an answer that actually helps the American people.

HEFFNER: Those 44 folks, are they primarily first

or second-termers?

SUOZZI: No, there are some people that have been

around for a long time and there's a lot of freshmen,

and, and, and sophomores, but there are people

that have been around for a long, long time...

HEFFNER: There's also been a Civility Caucus too, right?

SUOZZI: Well everybody, you know,

the freshmen class signed a Civility Pledge

that we would, you know, treat each other with respect

throughout this process, and I,

and I'm a freshman and I'm finding that

I'm happily surprised at the talent that's

in the House of Representatives, and

it's not this crazy everybody can't stand each other.

I just think that the structure of the system

is such right now that it works against people

working together, and the people are sick of it.

The public is sick of it. They're sick of politicians.

They're sick of politics.

They're sick of finger-pointing and blame games.

They just want us to get something actually ran

a campaign, my campaign slogan was "Suozzi gets

it done." So I'm here, I want to get something

done now and it's not easy in this environment,

so we have to battle ... I'm constantly working,

for example, to try and build relationships

with people on the other side of the aisle,

just to get to know them.

I get up at 6 o'clock in the morning and I go

to a 6:30 work, workout class that's run by a Republican

congressman from Oklahoma who's a former

MMA fighter and a wrestler.

It's half Democrats, half Repu... I'm like out

of breath the whole time.

These guys are all younger than me.

But uh, you know, just to get to know people.

Sometimes I go to the non-denominational prayer

breakfast, and these are all the southern

evangelicals, and I get in there,

I say I'm a, I'm a Catholic Democrat from

New York, they're like [LAUGHS] that's funny.

[LAUGHS] But it's a good way to get to know people.

HEFFNER: Right.

Well, we have to get to this point where we're

able to use diplomacy to, what I've said,

disagreeably agree.

You know, and I don't mean through hatchets

and knives, but through discourse,

and it's challenging but if you think back to those

great deliberative bodies, the Constitutional

Convention, the Second Continental Congress,

there was a range of perspective,

disparate views, and they reconciled.

Later there was a hugely disunifying event

that allowed us to reunify, but how do you get to yes,

that was the question. How do you get to yes?

Where have you found areas of potentially fruitful compromise?

SUOZZI: So before I get to that, if I can.

HEFFNER: Yes please.

SUOZZI: I would like to just talk about why do we

have this problem in this country, why are we so divided.

And I don't think it's 'cause people are so

different than they used to be.

It's not just because of cable television,

people, you know, going into their echo chamber

and listening to people that agree with themselves.

A lot of it has to do with the fact that

of the 435 members of the House of Representatives,

most of the seats, 390, maybe 400, are safe seats.

They're guaranteed either gonna be Democratic no

matter what or they're gonna be Republican no matter what.

And as a result, you can't lose the election

in the general election.

It's impossible to lose the general election.

But you could lose, possibly, the primary.

And nobody votes in the primary.

So if a Democrat's running and they can only lose

in a primary, they're gonna play to the far left of

the party because they can only lose a primary,

and only 10 percent of the people vote in a primary.

In the Republican side, you can only lose in a

primary, you're gonna play to the far right of your

party, and only 10 percent of the people vote in a primary.

So as a result you have, there's 400 of the 435

members of the House of Representatives playing

to their far right or far left sides and instead of

trying to come to the middle,

and I give the example all the time of Eric Cantor.

Eric Cantor was like the number three person

in the Republican House of Representatives,

and he said let's do immigration reform.

It's time to do immigration reform.

We should really figure this out.

And he got a primary from the far right and he lost.

He's one of the most powerful Republicans in

the country and he lost a primary.

So that scared everybody away,

and everybody sees that nobody's participating

in these primaries except for people at the,

at the far edges of the periphery.

HEFFNER: And I urge our viewers to go to

TheOpenMind.com, check out our programs with

John Opdycke of Open Primaries.

We've been focusing on this for three and a half,

going on four years, SUOZZI: Right.

HEFFNER: And folks who viewed our program

probably think we sound like a broken record

insofar as here is the crisis, where are the solutions?

Are the folks who were represented in that

45 person contingent, are they more nimble,

more flexible, more pliable,

more comfortable to compromise and why are

they more comfortable to compromise?

SUOZZI: They're, I think because they're basically

good people it starts with,

that they want to do the right thing.

They want to solve problems and they're

willing to show the courage and take the heat

that they'll get from their own party as well

as the opposition. You know, everybody, you know,

they say, you know, what happens when

you're in the middle of the road. You get run over.

So you have to be, it takes guts,

HEFFNER: Right.

SUOZZI: To do this stuff.

So for me, you know, I'm trying to do this

and I've got my friends in the progressive left

of the Democratic Party saying you're crazy.

Why are you talking to these guys?

They're no good, they're bums. Don't even talk to them.

Well at the same time, the Republicans are saying

Suozzi's a Democrat, let's bury this guy.

So you know, you get both sides coming at you

for daring to talk about this, so it's,

it's challenging from that perspective.

The, so these people have guts to do it in the first place.

They're all, most of them I should say,

are more in these seats that could go either way,

you know, that their, their constituency is

demanding that they try and solve problems,

and it's smart politically to try and serve their,

their constituency.

That's why gerrymandering is such a major problem

in our country. I'm one of, of 37 members of,

or 38 members of the House of Representatives

that has signed a, an amicus brief to the Supreme Court

that, on October 3rd is arguing that there can

no longer be partisan gerrymandering.

Because that would ... that would,

if we didn't have partisan gerrymandering in America,

it would completely change this whole dynamic,

and it would force people to be more willing to

compromise and, and try and find solutions

somewhere in the middle.

HEFFNER: I was thinking when you made that

comment, you made me laugh about the wrestling

analogy in being in the middle of the road

and the plight of the centrist, or center-left, center-right.

I was thinking about the photo that hangs

in the hallway as you enter the studio.

I mentioned this to Secretary Grimes who was

with us recently, of a program we did with

Senator Sanders, the content of which,

you know, this is pre-campaign,

would be wholly relevant to any discussion today

about genuine economic concerns of folks,

and while you can disagree on prescriptions,

you know, thus far when it comes to healthcare,

when it comes to tax reform or infrastructure,

those three issues on which this President

wanted to take command, there's been a missing in action.

SUOZZI: I was invited with a group of uh,

15 members of Congress to meet with the President

and some of his senior staff.

Some Problem Solvers, some Blue Dog Democrats,

some Republicans from Problem Solvers,

uh, some other folks, you know,

that are not affiliated with either, either of those groups.

And it's, the sense I got was that the President

wants to try and do ... you know,

I don't agree with the President on a lot of

things, I want to make that very clear from the

get-go, but the President wants to try and negotiate

agreements to get things done,

and he's got some talented people on his senior staff

that are around him, that I think want to do the

same thing, but I don't think he appreciates the

complexity of politics and governing and legislation.

And I'm concerned that there are people on his

team that are stuck in one extreme of the Republican

Party that are trying to just drive their agenda

and they're controlling the legislative process.

So the president wants to disrupt things,

you know, that's, that's what we've seen.

HEFFNER: So representing our district,

right, natives of, of Jericho, Glen Cove,

SUOZZI: Yeah.

HEFFNER: What are tangible results that you would

hope, national infrastructure for

instance, we were victims together of Sandy.

We understand that viscerally.

What are examples of constructive approaches

that could be federal legislation that helps

people in New York and around the country?

SUOZZI: Well we started out in the Problem Solvers

saying we're gonna do, discuss infrastructure

and tax reform and try and find compromise there,

and we ended up shifting gears and went to

healthcare when we saw the whole thing fall apart,

and we found a compromise that said the main thing

we need to do, and this was really the Democrats

driving this with some Republicans,

we have to stabilize the individual market.

There are 330 million people in America.

160 million people get their health insurance

from their employers.

70 million get their insurance from Medicare.

50 million get their insurance from Medicaid.

About 25 or 30 million people remain uninsured,

and there's about 21 million,

22 million people in the individual market.

The individual market is where everything's blowing up.

The premiums go through the roof,

the insurers are pulling out of the marketplace.

This is where all the angst,

most of the angst is coming from as far

as the instability in the marketplace.

So we said as a group, Democrats and Republicans

agreed on this, we need to as a priority stabilize

the individual market through certifying that

there's definitely gonna be cost-sharing

reductions, that this is gonna be under the Congress,

and this would actually help reduce premiums in those areas.

As a compromise, the Republicans said well

we'll agree with this but we want to get rid of the

medical device tax and we want to change the

employer mandate from 50 employees to 500 employees.

Well we talked to the people that wrote the

Affordable Care Act in the first place

and they said you know what?

Employers will continue to give the insurance anyway

'cause you have to in America today,

you have to give this insurance if you want to

remain competitive in the marketplace.

Very few people got insurance because of the

employer mandate, so we gave, we gave on that.

Uh, but this was a compromise.

We started to see movement in the Senate,

for them to agree with what we're doing,

Lamar Alexander and, and Patty Murray started

talking about bipartisan compromises,

especially on the stabilizing of the

individual market, but it's being derailed by the

efforts right now, by Cassidy and the group.

HEFFNER: Let's take infrastructure and tax reform.

Where could we find those areas of common ground?

SUOZZI: I think there's no question

that infrastructure, if the President had decided to

make that his number one agenda item,

this is something Chuck Schumer said from day one,

he could make a deal with the Republicans,

with the, and the Democrats...

HEFFNER: He'd have 60 percent approval right now.

SUOZZI: Right away, right away,

and, and it's, people are dying for this in America.

We have to recognize the President resonated

with a big swath of Americans because he spoke to people

that have been left behind by globalization and technology.

People that are just not making it in America

today, they're, as I said before,

there's 330 million people in America.

There's only 105 million full-time jobs,

which makes sense when you take out the seniors,

you take out the young people,

you take out the stay at home parents,

you take out the part-time workers,

you take out the unemployed and disabled,

there's a 105 million full-time jobs.

Of those 105 million full-time jobs,

59 million people make less than

50 thousand dollars a year. 86 million, out of 105 million,

86 million make less than 75 thousand dollars a year.

No wonder everybody's, thinks that we're elites

in New York or in California or in

Washington D.C. that are out of touch.

There's this whole swath of Americans that

are not making enough money to make it in America anymore.

HEFFNER: That's why Sanders resonated.

SUOZZI: Infrastru... right, that's why San...

and why Trump resonated as well.

HEFFNER: Right, they both resonated for that reason.

SUOZZI: They both resonated.

HEFFNER: I'm sorry.

SUOZZI: So infrastructure,

HEFFNER: Right.

SUOZZI: Is an opportunity not only to fix our

decaying infrastructure in this country from sewers

and roads and bridges and tunnels and airports and

ports but it's an opportunity to create

economic growth and jobs that pay enough money

that people can afford to make enough money, and that...

HEFFNER: How can you and the congressman

from Oklahoma you mentioned and the...

SUOZZI: Well he's not in the Problem Solvers.

The guy from Oklahoma is not going to help

with the Problem Solvers.

He's out there. [LAUGHS]

HEFFNER: [LAUGHS] Well it's important to be

candid in, in that respect.

SUOZZI: Yeah.

HEFFNER: The folks who can commit to solutions,

how can you guys collectively, guys and gals, congressmen,

congresswomen, from Vermont,

and Senator Sanders from Vermont,

address the economic abandonment that crosses

all boundaries and borders.

SUOZZI: That's the key to success for our country.

The Democrats came out with a message in the

beginning of August and said listen,

we're gonna, we're gonna start a new message

and a new platform. We're gonna talk about a better deal,

better jobs, better wages, a better future.

And people are like well, that's what we should be doing.

That's what the Democrats should be talking about.

We've lost that central message of what we need

to be focused on, and we saw throughout the whole

summer, everybody was pulled away from that

message because of the crazy events in

Charlottesville and the President's response to it.

HEFFNER: Right, that's true. I would submit to you that we,

you know, we associate with the Square Deal or

the New Deal, our Roosevelt,

SUOZZI: Yeah.

HEFFNER: Lions of New York,

my objection to this, to the notion of better

is that it was not sufficiently rooted

in our history, in the part, you know in the Democratic

Party's history and what I allude to now as American

history, and maybe you and Secretary Grimes and

Senator Schumer and company can embellish on that.

SUOZZI: We've got to embellish on that, it's got, this is..

HEFFNER: Too generic.

SUOZZI: Everything's a process. You know, you have to build,

I wro... I wrote an op-ed piece where I talked

about how my goal is we need to create five million new

80,000 dollar jobs in America. I told you before 86 million,

HEFFNER: Right.

SUOZZI: Out of 105 million full-time jobs make

75 thousand dollars or less. So I set the 80 thousand as,

as the goal and 5 million as a reasonable number.

And everything we do, you want to do infrastructure,

your President wants to do tax reform,

you know, corporate tax reform?

You want to do, you want to do,

changes in, in protections and regulations that affect our lives?

What are you gonna do to create 5 million 80,000

dollar jobs in this country?

Right now there are 6 million jobs in America

that are unfilled because we don't have

sufficiently trained people.

You and I and everybody else in politics and

public policy has been pushing college college,

college for 20 years, and we should continue

to do that, STEMs. Science, technology, engineering,

and mathematics. The more you learn, the more you earn.

But 60 percent of Americans don't go to

college, and we have poo-pooed the idea of

people going to trade schools and apprenticeship

programs and going to, in New York State, BOCES.

We need to start pushing skilled positions again

for people to become electricians and plumbers

and carpenters and welders. I had three welders in my office,

I'm sorry for going on about this,

but I had three welders in my office.

One guy was 22, one was 29,

and the other was 32 years old,

and I asked them why did you become welders.

And they were almost sheepish about it,

they were guilty almost, they were like well,

I didn't do well in school and my father was mad

at me, and my, my grandfather said he knew somebody

and you know, I became a welder. I said well how's it going?

He says oh, I said well how much money did you make last year?

The 22-year-old made $99,000 dollars.

The 29-year-old made $120,000 dollars,

and the 32 year-old made $140,000 dollars.

They get up early in the morning,

they drive an hour to go to work,

they take every job they can get.

But we don't have enough welders in America.

And we need to figure out how to start getting back

to this basic message that people have been

left behind by technology and globalization.

We don't want to change our standards of

protecting people with worker safety.

We don't want to change our environmental protections.

And we want to make people have better lives with

insurance and with pensions,

and we want people to have better wages.

But part of the path to getting there is

encouraging these type of skills in the global

marketplace for jobs that can be done right here at home.

HEFFNER: Well if anyone just listened to you,

Congressman, they would have heard authenticity

in your storytelling, in your message.

So as we were discussing off-camera,

I have a proposition.

When it comes to tax reform or infrastructure,

we need to enlist the media collectively to be

activist, not ideologically. Constructively.

And you know how Crossfire was disbanded, rightfully so,

SUOZZI: Yeah, yeah.

HEFFNER: Because, at a certain point,

it was just inane nonsense.

SUOZZI: Yeah, yelling at each other.

HEFFNER: Right, which you don't hear here on PBS stations.

We, we need, we need an amazing race to

legislative success.

Whether it is public television or commercial,

we need to see the sausage making up close and

personal, enlist a congressman,

a senator, officers at think tanks that might

have opposite objectives but together,

a day in the life, and do a series like that for days or weeks.

Not the fabricated or publicity stunt style

events where they are driven as gotcha

questions, but if we had that kind of leadership in

public media and in the fourth estate,

we would earn our integrity back as

journalists, to the extent that it's been voided,

and we would help engender or facilitate

the camaraderie in your caucus.

SUOZZI: I like that idea.

I like the idea, two parts of what you said.

One is almost like a reality TV show that you're talking about,

HEFFNER: Yeah.

SUOZZI: To follow a day in the life type of thing,

which people I think need to understand what

this life is like, you know, everybody hates politicians.

They're sick of politicians.

See, they're genuinely good people trying to do the right thing.

It's just they're being pulled apart by different structural factors.

That's, so one, the reality idea,

but something else you said that I think we

should add to it is this amazing race idea,

the idea of a competition. Who's got the better ideas,

who's gonna get the thing done,

who's gonna win the race to solve the problem to

make people's lives better? It should be a competition.

That's what democracy is supposed to be.

It's supposed to be a compet... it's like capitalism.

Capitalism only works when there's competition.

Democracy only works when there's competition.

I've got a better idea than you.

I've got a better way to pay for it than you do.

I can get it done more, quickly than you can.

I'll help more people than you. Let's compete,

HEFFNER: Right.

SUOZZI: In the battle of ideas,

HEFFNER: Absolutely.

SUOZZI: As to how to make people's lives better.

That's why our primary system is not working,

because there's not enough competition 'cause

it's a small little group of people.

We had more people in the process,

there'd be more competition and it would

force the politicians to be more accountable to the public.

HEFFNER: And after Senator McCain went like this

to the shock and astonishment of that polarization

complex, there, there would have been,

and there still is a peak interest,

and Senator McCain's one of the most courageous

political office holders in the history of this country.

He has nothing left to lose.

SUOZZI: That's for sure.

HEFFNER: Get him in a room,

I don't know, with Pat Leahy or pragmatic, thoughtful,

SUOZZI: I'm in, sign me up.

HEFFNER: And a congressional version

of that, but it needs leverage in order to

compete in this Twitter clickbait culture.

SUOZZI: It's got to be, it's got to be interesting.

HEFFNER: But it can be sexy.

SUOZZI: It's got to be, well it is. It's very interest, it's an interest,

I love my job. I love my job, it's a hard job,

I don't like being away from my,

my wife and son who's at home,

we have two other kids away,

uh, I don't like that part. It's long hours.

It's a lot of ups and downs along the way, but I love it.

And I think that if people really knew what was

going on, they'd love it too. Public policy, public debate,

public life is something for everybody.

A good thing that's happening in America

today is that more people are paying attention now than

ever before. I first ran for office in 1991.

I lost my first race for mayor of Glen Cove in 1991.

I was 29 years old.

I have never seen the engagement that I see right now.

Some people, 'cause they like Trump,

some people 'cause they're terrified of the President.

But regardless, people are engaged and when people

are engaged, the system will ultimately work.

We just need more people engaged in the process.

Your idea may be a good way to do that.

HEFFNER: The, and we need the right kind of civic

engagement that is pulling people together,

as much as feasibly possible.

You've described the systemic problems that

have exacerbated the disconnect.

How can voters in and constituents across this

nation, beyond what are understood as the

traditional apparatus of town hall meetings,

writing your congressperson, how can they,

SUOZZI: They gotta ...

HEFFNER: Collectively,

SUOZZI: They've got to sign up, they've got to get involved.

Sign up and volunteer on a campaign.

See what it's like for real.

You know, run for office yourself.

Get engaged in the process.

It can be a very fulfilling... I don't have

time 'cause I'm busy with my,

my family, I'm busy with my job,

I'm busy with all the things coming at me

from the media, the whole thing stinks and people have to

recognize, there are people in this country

that benefit from the status quo. They like it.

They like the, the, the instability of what's

going on in this country right now.

They like that nothing gets done,

because they're benefiting from the status quo the way it is now.

They don't want it to change.

There are people that spend a lot of money to

encourage us not to like politics,

who don't want anything to get done.

HEFFNER: Isn't that why we're not gonna see

genuine tax reform, because the system is

incentivizing the wrong kind of economic policy now?

SUOZZI: This is the battle.

This is the battle of public life.

There are people that want it to stay the way it is

now 'cause they like it the way it is now,

and there are people that want to get something done

to change and make everybody's life better.

That's the battle, that's the fight, that's why politics matters.

HEFFNER: On those two issues,

we come back to them, infrastructure and tax

reform, where is potentially the light

of compromise, public, private partnerships?

We talk about them often in the context of infrastructure.

We've discussed an infrastructure bank where

private companies can assist in facilitating public projects.

Where has there been any compromise so far on this issue?

SUOZZI: The, it hasn't been there yet, at all.

The President would be smart to tie the two

together, tax reform and infrastructure. Republican...

HEFFNER: How, how can you do that?

SUOZZI: Just to make it as part of the negotiation

as it's going forward.

And what the President needs to recognize is

there's got to be public investment in infrastructure.

He's pushing private private private.

There's got to be public investment in

infrastructure for it to actually work.

It can be public-private as well,

but there has to be a big part of public

in the public-private part that goes on.

HEFFNER: And tax reform, what would you like

to see accomplished?

SUOZZI: Tax reform, you know,

I'm, even President Obama talked about corporate tax reform.

In America, we want our, our workers to make good wages.

We want them to have health insurance,

we want them to have, pensions.

We want them to have safety.

We want them to have environmental protections,

and we're competing in a world where people don't

have any of that stuff.

We're in a global marketplace where they

don't have bad wages and they don't have worker

safety and they don't have environmental controls.

So when we're competing, we are at a competitive disadvantage.

We don't want to have a race to the bottom to

become more like these other countries that

don't have these worker protections,

that don't have environmental protections,

that don't have good wages for their employees.

We want them to be more like us,

we don't want to be more like them,

so that's what this whole trade fight is about, or part of it is.

So where's our competitive advantage?

Well we, have from sea to shining sea,

we have our natural resources.

We have the rule of law better than most places in the world.

People want to do business here 'cause you can,

can count on the rule of law if somebody breaks the

rules, they're gonna get in trouble.

But we have to have more skilled workers in order

to compete in the global marketplace as a

competitive advantage, and we have to look at

corporate tax reform because our corporate

taxes are much too high when compared to the rest

of the world.

HEFFNER: What must we demand from our companies,

SUOZZI: The companies have to create jobs

in the process.

It can't be that there's corporate tax reform so

you can give more dividends or more stock

buy-backs or so you can give more executive pay.

You've got to create jobs.

We need 5 million $80,000 dollar jobs in America.

HEFFNER: That's, that's the criteria.

SUOZZI: So we need to figure out how can

corporate tax reform result in job creation

at decent wages that make life in America better? Otherwise...

HEFFNER: And the system as it is now.

SUOZZI: 'Cause the corporations are doing fine.

They're doing fine.

HEFFNER: Yes.

SUOZZI: They got all, got those loopholes and all

this, they, they don't need more,

more help for the corporations.

We need more help to get them to locate in the

United States of America where it will create jobs

that pay sufficient wages so people can live

the American dream.

We don't need anything to help the wealthy. We...

HEFFNER: Well, it would make sense to have

a combination of reducing or eliminating all those

loopholes and reducing the corporate tax rate.

If you do those things simultaneously...

SUOZZI: Gotta do 'em together, right.

HEFFNER: Congressman, a pleasure.

SUOZZI: Thank you, Alexander. Thank you so much.

HEFFNER: And thanks to you in the audience.

Cristiano Ronaldo Biography – Motivational Video – Zero To Hero #3 - Duration: 5:08.

Often considered one of the best players in the world Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro

was born in a poor family in Funchal, Portugal.

Overcoming hardship and tough financial situation in his early life Cristiano Ronaldo is now

the world's highest paid athlete according to Forbes.

He has won the FIFA Player of The Year and has received the Ballon d'Or 4 times in his

carrier till now.

Scorer of more than 600 goals for club and country Cristiano Ronaldo had many ups and

downs in his life but one thing which has remained constant throughout in his life,

is his passion to play football.

"Without football, my life is worth nothing."

Cristiano Ronaldo belongs from one of the poorest area in Portugal.

His father was gardener and a part-time kit man.

It was through his father's work he was introduced to football.

To help get some money for the family his mother used to work as a cook and cleaner.

By the time he was 10 years old he was already famous for his skills in the game.

His godfather, Freno Sousa said "All he wanted to do as a boy was play football".

He also said that "He loved the game so much that he'd miss meals or escape out of his

bedroom window with a ball when he was supposed to be doing his homework."

At the age of fourteen Ronaldo left his Schooling to completely focus on his Football.

Ronaldo showed us that we should always do what we like to do.

Rather than force ourselves to follow the path that has been set for us, we can create

our own path and achieve great heights.

The path will not be easy and we have to face great difficulties but at the end the rewards

will be equally satisfying.

So, Smart lesson 1: Do what you feel passionate about.

It is easier to give up than to stay focused and achieve our goal - As CR7 once said, "It's

all about trying to be the best.

I will keep working hard to achieve it, but it is within my capabilities"

As a child Ronaldo played for their local team Andorhina for three years and then he

played for his National team for two years.

When he was 12, Sporting CP which is a big club in Portugal signed him for a fee of 1,500

pounds.

His carrier was moving up nicely when suddenly at the age of 15, he was diagnosed with a

disease called Racing Heart.

Racing Heart is a heart problem where the heart beat is more than that of a normal person

even while resting.

The doctors said that he should not play anymore because this is a serious problem among sportsmen

and many footballers had already died before due to this problem.

But Ronaldo did not give up and decided to undergo an operation so that he can continue

to play football.

At the age of 15 Ronaldo successfully completed his operation and even returned to training

within a few days.

This is the sign of a true player.

He has set an example for the young boys who might have a similar condition and are football

lovers.

If he had not shown strength at that young age it might have been the end of his football

career.

It is rightly said that where there is a will, there is a way.

Ronaldo worked hard and impressed everyone with his skills.

At the age of 16 he made his debut in the First team of Sporting CP and caught everyone's

attention.

At the age of 17 Manchester United signed him for 15 million euros which was the highest

paid transfer amount at that time for a teenager.

Ronaldo reached new heights in Manchester and won numerous awards and titles including

PFA Player of the Year Award, European Player of the Year, and FIFA World Player of the

Year.

In 2009, he broke another record by becoming the World's most expensive football player,

after transferring from Manchester United to Real Madrid in a 80 million pounds transfer.

So, Smart lesson 2: Never give up

Even with all the success and money, Cristiano Ronaldo never backed out from helping those

who are in need.

Once Ronaldo told a British newspaper, My father always taught me that when you help

other people, then God will give you double, And that's what has really happened to me.

When I have helped other people who are in need, God has helped me with more.

Once Ronaldo received a request, for a donation of football boots and t-shirts to help raise

83,000 dollars for a 10-month-old in need of an operation.

Ronaldo not only donated the items, but also paid for the operation.

He also donated for different charities around the world and also is the Global Artist Ambassador

for Save The Children charity . During 2004 when he saw footage of a young Indonesian

tsunami victim wearing his No. 7 Portugal jersey.

Ronaldo immediately flew to Indonesia, to raise money to help the country rebuild.

So, Smart lesson 3: Always help others who are in needs
