hey what's up guys , shark jungle is here , in this video I'm going to make a quick
review on the latest linage 15.1 release , it's running android Oreo 8.1 but it's still has
some bugs and in my opinion it's not suitable for daily usage yet however it's a win that
we have android Oreo ROMs under development , the review will be 4 parts this time cause
I'm gonna talk only about the changes and the new features in android 8.1
installation
ROM installation is quite the same like any AOSP based ROMs but don't forget to make a
nandroid backup before flashing the ROM, Wipe for factory reset
install and add the ROM file then add GAPPs file then swipe to flash
after flashing the ROM you will need to flash magisk or super SU by chain fire to get root
access
device performance has been improved , there is no glitches like the previous build so
far ,every thing else is very responsive and antutu benchmarking score is great as you
see it's over 120 k which is nice score for galaxy S7 and S7 edge , gaming performance
is great too no abnormal heat no slow response so the overall performance is very very good
features there is no major change in features but I'll
mention the dereferences in android 8.1 very quick
1-You'll start to notice that the notifications shade has become translucent giving a slight
peak of what's behind it.
it may appears a little distracting some time.
the search option at the top of the screen, unlike the button present in android 8.0,
has now blown into a full-fledged search bar.
The Power Menu is also an area where you would immediately notice the visual changes.
WiFi speed labels The list of available WiFi networks now shows
whether the network is fast or slow by displaying 'labels' (Very fast, fast, OK, slow) below
the name of the wireless network.
This would help Android 8.1 users find fast WiFi networks with ease.
Keep in mind that this will only show under open networks.
The network labels can be enabled by pressing and hold > WiFi icon then > WiFi Preferences
> Advanced > Network rating provider and Choose Google .
Bugs
Camera is working flawlessly for photos and videos but unfortunately HW acceleration for
video play back is not working properly so the videos will not play flawlessly
Cellular services is working but you gonna have to add APN manually for specific carriers
to get 4G to work
GPS still not fully functioning but Device only GPS should work properly which is capable
for navigation
-I've experienced some random reboots for an hour after flashing the ROM ,but now everything
is stable , I don't know what was the reason for those random reboots
