before we post another current video on the channel
I want to take you guys a few weeks back
because I have a lot of material from
Something that I call a real American Thanksgiving
It's our trip to North Carolina for
Thanksgiving with Blonnie's family
And I made a movie out of it
And I didn't want it to be not posted until next year
I know it's past Thanksgiving now but it's still holiday season
So before holiday season get away from us
And before and other current video is posted on the channel
I just wanted to share this material with you
It's a lot of funny stuff and I hope you enjoy it
I thought it's about time to make a film about a real
It's a lot of wind, huh?
I thought it was time to make a film about a real American Thanksgiving
which is Święto Dziękczynienia [in Polish]
A holiday which doesn't really have an equivalent in Poland
And for Americans it's one of the major holidays during the year
A day when families are united
Everybody is driving long distances to be with their loved ones
to gather together and celebrate this holiday
Americans travel on average
for Thanksgiving
not bad, huh?
and then of course the return trip
It happens so that this year we are going to be a part of the real
solid American Thanksgiving
with a turkey, with the entire family - some of whom we have never met before
so this is going to be very interesting
and the first phase of the celebrations
is the driving
We're going from Maryland to North Carolina, we have about six hours of driving
with the bathroom and coffee breaks it's probably going to be seven, maybe 7 1/2
we're leaving today, today is Wednesday before the Thursday
the very Thanksgiving Day is tomorrow, tomorrow is the day
of the big dinner where everybody sits down and eat the turkey
Today we travel, tomorrow we celebrate, on Friday we are driving back
I am intending to show you old these three parts and make a good Reportage

the actual driving isn't super exciting
you're basically driving on highway all the time
"on highway'you" if speaking Ponglish
and highway is just like a highway nothing really special
there are no super interesting views, it's just a roadway and a lot of cars
and there's... and there's more or less six hours of it
then maybe 2% of it is when you get off highway
and into the local roads so maybe we'll show it to you
although I'm not sure how this is going to workout because when we are there
it's going to be dark
right now it's really nice
and where are we? We are…
we made a sandwich stop for lunch
somewhere close to… around Washington, not even in Washington yet
so we haven't gone too far, so far
There you go! Here's our little lunch and now we can go on
about five more hours, still
It's 7 PM
we feel like we've been driving for ages
I'll be damned
there were so many cars on the road that
it made me want to slit my veins
we have about… two hours left
that's not cool
but we're hanging in there, luckily there's a lot of off
coffee stops on the way
so that helps
When we get there I am not editing anything tonight, just going to sleep

woke up a little bit later than originally planned
there was no getting up for some rice today although there could be
maybe tomorrow
and now we have to see how it all works out today
today is the day
the Thanksgiving day when everybody sits and eats for most of the evening, I think
I can see some smoke coming from downstairs
it must be our host, smoking something
I'm going to check it out
there's a turkey and a ham on here

yeah, I've been curing wood for 30 days
and… planning this in my mind

I stack it up there and let it dry out
there's oak and cherry
so obviously you've done this before
I have, once or twice
about 40 times
and it came out good?

this looks so amazing, I'm not eating anything between now and then

well… celery is a very versatile

but I'm thinking that these ones
are going to be going to our bloody maries
the neighborhood where we are
where Joseph and Heather's house is
our wonderful hosts

this neighborhood is I would say totally typical
American suburbian

the very first step to a successful things giving has been taken

this superstore Macy's is organizing
a huge parade in Manhattan in New York on Thanksgiving day
which most Americans watch on TV
of course not everybody can be in New York on this day
setting the table!
we need three more groan up seats

it looks like we're sitting down soon
the tables are almost ready
I thought this part happens on the table
not in my house
it falls apart
this is a no laughing matter
is that a possibility
so we had this amazing... Thanksgiving dinner
like… Really out of this world, the dinner of the century
and… Everybody agrees right?

Black Friday shopping!
and aaam… That means I'm getting up at 5 AM tomorrow?
yeah we're sleeping in because you're coming with us, otherwise we'd get up earlier
why do I keep running into people who like… get up in the middle the night

we do come back with presents

what is Black Friday for someone who has no idea, never heard of it before
it's a day where they have super discounts
on everything that you don't need
so that you can go spend a lot of money
why do they call it Black Friday?
oh you never heard that? I heard of it
it's the time whenever peoples budgets
ahe money in all the stores go from black to... I mean from red to black
so they're no longer in negative for the year, they actually silly enough to have a profit
oh there you go
We don't get time just the two of us very often so it's really nice for us to have that
so that's why I'm coming with you tomorrow

this is totally disappointing
what she said last night was that people have now moved from
starting on Black Friday to starting on like Thanksgiving
so it's actually taking people away from the tables and from the family
or it's already after they eat then they go shopping
'cause they spend this Thanksgiving evening at the mall instead of

that it's interesting to you that
people will go after Christmas to see a movie

so this is just one of those things that they do also
ss my so far investigation of this phenomenon shows
the Black Friday tradition in us is pretty much dead
I'm sure there's going to be videos coming up again
of all the madness and people fighting with each other
and storming some amazing deals
but where we are at right now in Apex North Carolina
this was the calmest Black Friday morning I ever heard of
so here's my conclusion
let's go home

If you are… If you're going to get something major like that Sony PlayStation you been thinking about
there's 20% off for the entire store, right?
yeah... there's bigger...
so you're going to end up saving something
but do you really have to get up for it at 5 AM
probably not

Black Friday morning, thank you
we're done with the shopping
and it's almost daylight outside
and so our three day trip is almost over
to sum it up there were really four parts of it
first one was the road to North Carolina
second one was the actual Thanksgiving day
third one was this morning, Black Friday
meaning the shopping craziness
and the fourth one is the trip back home that we just started
and it will take around five and a half hours
today the roads shouldn't be too traffiky like they where on the way to North Carolina
so we're not anticipating any delay
but of course we will report back to you we left a little late, we left
we left after 3 PM so the sun is starting to set already
we won't have to much daylight left for the trip
in any case we should be home around 10 PM
not bad
AS EXPECTED THE RETURN TRIP HOME WAS UNEVENTFUL
