Youtube daily report Dec 21 2017

One of the most interesting topics

is how we ride on the roundabouts.

There is a hell of a lot of emotions

on the side of advocates of different rules.

There are so many different options out there

that I wouldn't want to start a thunderstorm around it.

Because of this, I'll just talk about one particular thing.

About signalling.

I very often observe that plenty of people waste lots of time on the roundabouts.

It's because they wait to let someone go.

Someone who wasn't even going to cross their path.

However they cannot enter since they don't have the priority.

That's how it works on the roads here.

So you approach a roundabout, there's a triangular sign that's upside down

and you need to be patient and wait

for a possibility to safely enter a roundabout.

Usually those on the roundabout have the priority.

This seems clear but it's necessary to state that at the beginning.

Because there are very often very different points of view.

So we need to stay totally clear.

Everyone willing to enter - must wait.

SO THIS WAY - IT'S NOT THEM WASTING THEIR OWN TIME.

It's others potentially making them waste their time.

AND EVEN WITHOUT ANY PERMISSION!

It will be easiest to explain on a simple example.

I'm approaching a roundabout and I'm going to exit at the first exit.

So I'm going to turn right.

If you'd like to refer to it as to a normal intersection.

Doesn't even matter.

What is important is that after this exit, there's at least one more.

So I may take the first one and I can also go to the next ones.

I can even turn around.

HOWEVER, at this first exit, there's a car waiting to ENTER the roundabout.

So I enter the roundabout while that driver needs to wait and let me pass first.

Because I have the priority now.

And not even passing the spot at which that one is waiting,

I exit with that first exit where the car is waiting to enter.

WITHOUT INDICATING...

Now that car can start moving and enter the roundabout. Sure well done.

It couldn't enter before

because if I don't send the message

"buddy I'm going to exit right before your spot, ..."

"you can safely enter", then that one cannot even move.

This is how it would be.

If I would go straight

or would decide to turn around on the roundabout

and that car would enter, we could crash into each other.

So what to do excatly?

If I would have my right blinker ON while approaching the roundabout

or switch it on when entering,

that other car could enter as well without being afraid too much that we'd crash.

I would like us all

to think about such helpful tips

and get involved in utilizing them

while driving our cars and riding motorcycles.

Let's improve communication on our roads!

I'd like every single one of us

to know how to help us all

and improve our commuting experiences.

This WILL help reduce traffic in the whole area.

According to my experiences,

roundabouts have this ugly habit of making everyone get stuck,

everyone inside a 500 m radius. Especially in the cities.

So let's go and use this tip!

Good luck and let's use our turn signals on roundabouts.

Especially when exiting at the first exit.

Because this helps others a lot.

Makes people save their time that they may use then differently.

Actually it works the same if you're turning left (on a 4 exit roundabout).

Doesn't apply when you go straight of course.

Then you can't in fact indicate going straight.

So when you turn left - of course from the left lane, if there is more than just one

it's nice to indicate that with the left turn signal.

So that the ones at the first exit don't enter and we don't crash into each other.

So let's do the good job and good luck!

Lunch was delicious♪

I'm satisfied zura~♡

Shall we go for a little walk to help with digestion after eating?

Well then, how about we take a look around here? We can take a look at the sea lions and the seals here. There are also flamingoes over at the other side.

Sounds great. That'll be perfect for an after-meal exercise.

Ah! Hey, hey, the seal's face just popped up from the water! Their round eyes are so cute~♡ Ah, it went away...

There're sea lions and fur seals too! Must be nice to swim about freely like them.

You-chan, please do not go and join them.

Ah! The seals are moving towards the sandy shore! Hey, Mr. Seal!

Chika-san! It is dangerous to run around here! Not to mention that you're being loud on top of that......

Ah♡ There're penguins over here! The way they're waddling about are just so irresistibly cute!

Yo! Umm, they're not really avoiding the camera, but they're moving about too much...... Oh! Here comes a shutter chance!

There are other types of penguins around here, and they're also at the area with the flamingoes. The ones over here are Humboldts, and the other ones over there are Cape penguins.

Wow☆ We must go and capture photos of the Cape-chans over there! Here we go☆

Not Mari-san too! Geez, the penguins won't go anywhere, you can just walk slowly over there......

The Cape penguins aren't even over there, where're you going Mari?

Huh? Come to think of it, where's Zuramaru and Ruby?

Eh? Not those two too......

Haa~, having a dessert after meal feels exceptional zura~♡

Ah, there they come. ......What are you eating? Ice-cream?

It is soft-serve with jellyfish. It's delicious. Though it's kind of crunchy.

It's unsightly to walk and eat at the same time. Please find somewhere to sit down and eat.

Ah! There are so many sea lions over at the cliff there!

Chika-chan, slow down~

Shall we go, Ruby?

Ruby wants to see the sea lions too~

Like I said, sit down and- ... Ruby! Hanamaru-san! At least finish eating before going...... Hold it right there!

Dia~ Geez, you're also running about yourself...... Huh?

Ahaha, the penguins are all alarmed. Sorry if we were too loud. Please forgive us.

Sapa bread | Spiced sweet bread with no added sugar - Duration: 8:37.

Hello everyone.

Let's make sapa bread.

Zest an orange and a citron (or a lemon).

Mince the zest.

Toast almonds and zest over low heat for a few minutes.

Add cloves.

Add must or boiled grape juice to the flour.

Add raisins.

Add toasted almonds (put some aside for the garnish).

Combine the ingredients.

You can make grape syrup by boiling grape juice until one third of the liquid is left.

Add sourdough...

...and knead.

Knead for a few minutes until it reaches this consistency.

Leave to rise overnight in a salad bowl.

Here is the result.

Add some water with baking soda and keep kneading.

Baking soda decreases the dough's acidity.

Put the dough in a baking dish, wet your hands and unify the surface.

Garnish with the almonds you put aside.

Bake it for about 45 minutes (200°C/390°F).

Sapa bread is traditionally presented on bay leaves, just like this.

Pour some sapa (must/boiled grape juice).

You can eat this delicious bread at any hour of the day.

I hope you enjoyed my recipe, until next time!

The Ghaf tree is the national tree

of the United Arab Emirates

and a recurring theme

that you will see throughout the aircraft.

A new feature that we're excited to announce

in the first class section of our triple-seven aircraft

is that the suites are now fully enclosed

from ceiling to floor.

Let's go inside and have a quick look around.

- [Narrator] Inspired by Mercedes-Benz,

the new luxury interior of the Boeing 777 suite.

It capitulates the luxuries, technologies, and comforts

that you have grown accustomed to on the ground,

and takes them to the sky.

- The new seat is larger than before,

and reclines into a fully flat bed.

- [Narrator] A new feature to the first class suite

is the zero gravity position.

This was designed by NASA

to find your body's natural at-rest position.

It is the ultimate inflight luxury.

- At Emirates, we fly to some spectacular destinations.

We wanted to ensure that those customers who are seated

in our central suites never miss out on these amazing views.

- [Narrator] To do this, we are pleased to announce

another industry first.

Virtual windows.

These project the high-definition images

from outside the aircraft, using real time technology.

We also have a brand new business class cabin

with a brand new seat design

inspired by the interior of a modern sports car.

We have a 23-inch LCD screen

showing our award-winning Ice inflight entertainment system,

as well as personal mini bars at every seat.

And for the passengers traveling in our economy class cabin,

you too have some exciting changes.

Lauren A Koenig, Twip - Phocuswright 2017 - Duration: 3:31.

(intro music)

- [Lauren A. Koenig] So, Twip we power shared

experiences for global brands.

We connect people to experiences and travelers

based on what we call your Travanality.

Travanality is why you travel when you take away

time, destination, and price.

Everyone has a unique Travanality and we are able

to connect you with people content on experiences

all based on this Travanality.

- [Interviewer] So you bring people together

- Yes.

- [Interviewer] Who would have like minded experiences

and what to share that and travel together.

- I'd like to say that I like to safely and selfishly

travel as a traveler.

- [Interviewer] Excellent.

So you were on stage at Summit yesterday.

You presented with great energy.

- [Laura] Thank you.

- [Interviewer] How did you get out? I think the dragons

enjoyed your energy.

- [Laura] I hope so. I hope so.

I'm so glad it's over. I was so incredibly nervous.

It was a fantastic time I really enjoyed it.

I have to thank Voyager HQ, which is a fantastic travel

clubhouse in New York City.

They gave me the opportunity to pitch at their event

and then Phocuswright saw me and they invited me to

try out for speaking on stage at Phocuswright.

I closed my eyes and it happened.

It was great and I'm so blessed to be here.

This is a fantastic, fantastic conference that I wouldn't

miss for the world, every year, coming to.

- [Interviewer] Well your energy gave you a lot of friends

in the audience, but the dragons were there to ask

difficult questions.

How did you get along with them?

- [Lauren] You know, I didn't know what to expect.

I think that you can try to predict what they're gonna say,

but they always surprise you.

There's a couple tough dragons that I had

and they were actually nice to me.

I don't remember much of it, I'm not gonna lie, because

it's such a blur. It happened so quickly.

They were great. They asked some incredible questions.

What was important to me is that

they understood the product.

Um, but it was a lot of months of preparation to make

sure we were able to describe what Twip was

concisely and clearly.

It seemed like we got their support

and I couldn't be happier.

- [Interviewer] So obviously being on stage

gives you profile and that profile leads to conversations.

This is a business event.

What kind of conversations have you had since then?

- [Lauren] It's a whole new day. I woke up to an inbox of

LinkedIn and Phocuswright app full of emails and messages.

So it's definitely.

Being on stage is a whole different ball game.

You go from kind of nervous and focusing on your pitch

the night before and you wake up

the next day with tons of support.

Everyone in the community knows that it's not easy to do.

And the best of the best are on stage.

So being able to get that love and support that now,

today I am filled with meetings all day.

I'm even glad to fit this in.

And it's a lot of exposure because people see your face

on the biggest screen that I've ever seen.

It felt like Times Square recognizing you, thanking you,

and then also wanting to reach out.

We're really interested in partnerships right now.

So we've had a plethora of partnerships and the day

is not even half over.

You know I've had a couple investors come up to me.

Definitely for people to understand your brand and

just recognize what you're doing.

Putting a face to a name with a company

is extremely important.

The travel industry can be saturated.

So seeing that face to a name and who's representing

the company, like I said, is very important.

And potential clients too. I mean we all love to travel.

That's why we're here.

And I think that's where we are at right now.

- [Interviewer] Excellent.

Well thanks for your time and well done.

- [Lauren] Absolutely, thank you so much.

(slow music)
