South Korea's athletes are counting down the days until their once-in-a-lifetime experience

of competing at an Olympics in their home country.

And with the fun just over two weeks away,... the South Korean team got together on Wednesday...

and pledged to do their country proud on the world stage.

Nearly 220 people, including athletes and staff, who are part of the South Korean national

Olympic team gathered in Seoul on Wednesday for their official launch ahead of the upcoming

2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics.

Government officials and previous Olympic medalists also attended the event to encourage

and show their support for Team Korea in the first winter Olympics hosted by the country.

"We all know that every one of you have come a long way to be here,… and since this Winter

Olympics are held here in South Korea, we also know that you will be under great pressure.

But we know that you will give your all in the games, and so we encourage you to show

the public your best efforts."

The number of South Korean athletes who are set to compete in the PyeongChang Winter Olympics

stands at 146,… and including staff members such as coaches and physicians, the total

is close to 220 people who will head towards PyeongChang next month.

Their goal is clear,... to give their all and their best during the games starting February

9.

South Korea is aiming to win at least eight gold medals in PeyognChang 2018, and rank

within the top four in the medal race.

"Of course every athletes wants to go out there and win golds, even any of the medals

beyond the podium, that's one of the good reasons why we are all here, but it's also

that we all love the sport that we do."

Wednesday's ceremony featured South Korea's chief delegate for the 2018 PyeongChang Winter

Olympic Games, Kim Ji-yong as the flag bearer of the South Korean flag.

But after the International Olympic Committee held a meeting last Saturday, it was decided

that the two Koreas will march in the opening ceremony as one delegation, and as such, there

will be two flag bearers, one from the South and one from the North.

The two Koreas will march together under the Korean Unification flag, marking the first

joint Korean march into an opening ceremony at an international sports event in 11 years

and the 10th joint march overall.

The Hour of Mercy

Part ll

The Hour of Mercy is a time of infinite possibilities

because Mercy can do all things.

Meanwhile, humanity continues to be indifferent.

Christ gives us the best of what exists in the Universe, and what do we do with these Graces?

We do not take advantage of them, Friar, even His most dedicated disciples.

In the same way, we place the innumerable practical needs and responsibilities

before the spiritual needs and responsibilities that humanity and our planet experience.

Christ sees all those things, and in a message He tells us:

"The infinite Graces that I pour out every day, at three o'clock in the afternoon,

are not fully taken into consideration by some souls

at the time that those graces are poured out.

It is similar to the loss of water in a river."

For this reason, He calls us to not only pay attention

to the time of Mercy as something special and important,

but to also become guardians and soldiers faithful to the Hour of Mercy.

"I call on you to be faithful defenders of the Hour of My Divine Mercy.

If this is done, in spite of circumstances and unforeseen contingencies,

I would be able to say that I can count on soldiers of Mercy."

In the Communities where we live, at three p.m., all the bells ring,

thus reminding the soldiers of Mercy that the hour has come.

So the bells invite us to close our eyes

and imagine that we are the foot of the holy cross.

At that most important moment in the spiritual history of this humanity:

the moment of liberation,

the moment in which Christ, because of love,

liberated us from evil and from slavery.

What can we do at this special universal conjunction?

Christ tells Saint Faustina:

"My Child, at that hour try to study the Via Crucis, while your duties allow it.

And if you are unable to pray the Via Crucis, at least enter for a moment in the chapel

and in the Most Holy Sacrament adore My Heart, which is full of Mercy.

And if you are unable to enter the chapel, fall into prayer wherever you are,

even if for a brief moment."

He is trying to broaden our devotion to His Infinite Mercy,

and He has asked even more of us in these times.

In His daily messages, Christ has asked many times for us,

at the hour of Mercy, to pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy.

In this way, we announce a very concrete first period,

a prayer of the heart to Divine Mercy.

He also asked for something more.

He increased other requests for prayer that can be done at that hour.

For example, the Devotional to the Powerful Blood of Jesus,

the Devotional to the five Sacred Wounds,

the Rosary to the Seven Agonies of Jesus,

the Rosary to the Tears of Jesus.

Now He has made a special request so that we may prepare for this Sacred Hour,

and He makes that request at two points.

"I ask that, in your homes, among your families, and among your most loved ones,

you offer a special devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and to the Merciful Christ.

Do this for 15 minutes before the Hour of Divine Mercy.

Today I ask that every day, before three p.m.,

you re-read the last message that has been published,

for in humility you will understand what I ask for daily."

Within the disseminated teachings based on the work of Saint Faustina,

the time of Mercy begins at the moment in which the clock registers three in the afternoon.

There is no indication that says it should last an hour, that is to say, 60 minutes.

But in His daily messages, Christ Jesus brought us up-to-date on this, telling us the following:

"Between three and four p.m. each day,

My Eucharistic Heart is radiated to the most distant spheres of the Earth,

where a soul may exist that is crying out for My Mercy."

Do we know the power of Mercy?

Do we understand what the possibilities are that It contains? Do we believe in that?

Lastly, when our heart has united with Christ,

He is able to triumph over the evil of this world.

On that day on which that took place, He tells us the following:

"Today My Priestly, Universal, and Planetary Consciousness

interceded for the broken spirit of humanity, and during the Hour of Mercy,

the portals of liberation removed the souls

that where in a condition to be redeemed and forgiven.

My Love for you, which is infinite, restored all that was damaged, and once again,

My immeasurable Mercy gained Its victory on Earth."

To bring this reflection to a close, we want to leave you with the following words of Our Lord:

"Through merciful prayer at three in the afternoon, day by day,

I come so that, through My Precious Blood,

your hearts, and the hearts of the whole world are washed of all stain.

I come at three in the afternoon

to purify your souls of desires and self-love through My Water.

I also come at three in the afternoon so that, through My Soul,

I unite that which the enemy cleverly separates from Mine

and which I call love of the heart.

For this reason, at three in the afternoon, it is your task to make an effort so that,

through love and redemption, you receive the merits of My Glory and of My Resurrection.

I invite you to spiritually avail yourselves of the Gifts of My Heart,

and to find in these a quick way out from this material world.

Unite with Me, in spite of all the circumstances,

and be good instruments for My Hands,

for now is the time for giving up what is past

and the hour for renewing yourselves through the presence of My Spirit.

Those that proclaim the Hour of My Mercy as important

will be satiated by My Love

and will drink with Me from the chalice of reparation of the coming time.

Supreme existence of humble love,

Supreme consciousness of universal Creation,

descend with Your Immaculate spirit

and incarnate now in this little heart,

so that Your selfless purpose

may be fulfilled in the mission that you have entrusted to me.

Erase from my heart all arrogance,

wash my soul of all stain,

and dissolve with Your divine light

all debts in my consciousness,

because free from myself

I will be able to help You, beloved Father,

to fulfill Your infinite Will in all that has been manifested.

Unite me with the spirit of humility,

consecrate me to the essence of Your Truth,

raise me up to Your Kingdom,

so that this being, manifested by Your Origin,

may with Your Angels fulfill

the purpose of the glorious coming of Christ.

Schumer is the point person pushing to allow open borders to illegal aliens and free health

care, all paid by the American public taxes.

Why was ICE not on scene detaining these illegals and processing them back to wherever they

belong?

America is not for sale, we do not negotiate with terrorists and we certainly should not

be allowing illegals to protest and do so with 0 accountability.

These illegals are allowed to get away with breaking the law, which you and I would be

punished for doing.

The crowd chanted in Spanish and English to Schumer; "If he won't let us dream, we

won't let him sleep."

producing states with ensuring ensuing economic consequences the move to

mechanize mechanization of Agriculture has begun and it will change the crops

we grow and the economic strength of the industries and here in California's

economy many growers also recognize that mechanization is not the panacea for

resolving this labor shortage in the agricultural economy despite the efforts

by California growers to attract us-born workers many have increased wages

improve working conditions access to health care and even for that matter

address some of the housing issues it still hasn't been enough to fill the

labor shortage in a time in which there is heightened enforcement and security

as it relates to immigration these sectors are impacted significantly with

the unauthorized workers that currently take on these jobs I grew up in Tulare

County picking in the fields in Tulare County really proud of that and I grew

up picking in the fields in Santa Clara County back when they had fruit trees

when I go home to visit in Tulare County and Lindsay in Tonyville it shocks me

to see help wanted signs in all the years that I lived there and worked in

the fields there never once that I see workers wanted signs you see that today

and when you talk to people there they don't have enough workers a lot of crops

remain in the fields that's money that's going down the drain we need to come up

with honest and real solutions that'll take care of those problems and

will help families in the long run and the proposal here that's brought forward

by ladies and gentlemen is a clear answer to creating the future for the

United States the future for California thousands of men and women and

generations have contributed mightily to the economic strength of California's

agriculture and service industries it is impossible to acknowledge our state's

economic standing without having had the active and vital contributions of these

individuals we see this labor shortage as a serious economic problem that can

and should be partially resolved with an immigration initiative policy that

allows States to make the determination of the federal government as the fifth

and sometimes sixth largest economy in the world with agriculture being at the

forefront of our economy we believe that California should play a greater role in

the conversation taking place as a relates to immigration policy but we

want to make sure that there is a strong emphasis on the economics of this and

the uncertainty that this labor shortage creates not only as a national security

Travels to the North (Epic Battle Fantasy 3) - Game Suite Zone - Duration: 12:02.

Hey there, and welcome to Game Suite Zone, where we analyze and recreate video game music!

It's nice to have you here -- after three months of no videos.

This time, we'll be covering the music that plays in Volcano Peak, which was composed

by Phyrnna in 2010.

We'll also be trying something new this time around.

This video won't cover every single pattern and will only use them for demonstrations

instead.

A video in the description has the rest of them.

Now everything's 1% less boring.

The music has a 3/4 time signature, and moves at 140 beats per minute.

This section isn't being played by one sad and lonely instrument, but by multiple sad

instruments!

Now like most normies, we'd probably just get typical orchestra strings that sound like

all the others, but no.

We can confirm that the strings are also Persian.

Now we need to do even more digging for instrument samples we can use.

We found nothing, but eventually, I tried again, and lo and behold, we found our savior.

"Now let's get into Persia -- and check this out.

I couldn't resist."

That's the sound.

That's the sound we're looking for!

Now we just need to get our hands on this sound library.

O-Oh my.

M'kaaay.

No problem!

I can easily cover that with one month's worth of YouTube money.

But, we don't need to shell out $200 just for accuracy's sake, 'cause we can do it for

less instead!

After paying $15 to start a subscription service, we have access to thousands of sounds by EastWest,

and they conveniently have the plugin we're looking for!

Using it is actually quite simple, however.

It sounds exactly the same as the strings in the music without any editing, so we'll

just place the notes, like so.

Apparently, the music was "spiced in the middle with Chinese instruments."

One instrument is from the same sound library!

It's called the zhonghu, and belongs to the huqin family of string instruments.

You may be more familiar with the sound of the erhu.

Basically, the erhu's also known as the Chinese violin, so the zhonghu is kinda like the Chinese

viola.

The difference in pitch is what matters, so we'll use the zhonghu for the upcoming lower-pitched

notes.

We'll also use vibrato -- an important articulation that gives these instruments their recognizable

sounds.

It's thanks to vibrato that we can make sounds like this:

instead of this:

Vibrato is already enabled with this one, so not much needs to be done.

We'll also raise the attack parameter a bit-

The tambourine, the instrument that never ceases to leave me alone in these videos,

is also used.

It probably would have been a different instrument, but I couldn't find any Chinese or Japanese

percussion instruments that sounded like the original's, and another Game Suite Zone episode

was long overdue, so I just went with a tambourine, like the cultureless peasant I am.

Sadly, it won't pack as much of a punch as the original, but we'll still spice it up

a bit.

We'll be utilizing an effect called reverb!

This effect helps simulate what an instrument would sound like if played in different rooms.

We can give sounds a bit of depth this way, and prevent them from sounding too dry.

It's not the same as going out and playing actual instruments in certain environments,

but hey, it's as close to the real thing as we can get.

Judging by the sound, it is likely that she used this one as well.

It's called a bansuri, and it's from India.

Wait a second.

That doesn't make any sense.

What?

There aren't any Indian instruments listed in the description!

Anyway, an important articulation we need to abuse is portamento.

This involves the instrument sliding up to a destined note, rather than playing them

one after another.

Here: it makes a lot more sense if I just show you.

Think of it like modifying the note you're already playing to match a different pitch,

instead of playing the note, letting go, then playing another one.

Let's not be unfaithful.

The music uses Japanese taiko drums.

Should we use them?

Nah.

The pipa- No!

The pipa, also known as the Chinese lute, is also used in the music's later half.

To be honest, though, there's not too much significant about its usage.

We just select it from our sound library, put in the notes, and we're set.

I'm not going to try and force information in the video, so let's just listen to what

it sounds like instead.

Alright, alright.

Obviously, I was kidding about the taiko.

The use of this Japanese percussion instrument is pretty basic.

We used two different versions: one with a lowered pitch, and one with slight variances

in sound.

Besides that, it's the same case as the pipa, so let's just hear what they sound like.

The guzheng, also known as the Chinese zither, is the prominent, plucked string instrument

in the music's middle section.

Once again, same case as the taiko.

We've essentially covered all of the music's material, but we're still not done.

Instead, let's add a little more, in ways that would naturally fit in with the rest

of the music's direction.

We'll mainly be making use of the shakuhachi!

This Japanese flute will be playing during three different periods.

What will really make it stand out is the use of articulations, which help us vary the

way the instrument is played!

For this particular sound library, we just place notes where we need articulations to

happen.

These are notes that do not make sounds.

It will play the second part of the main melody to add some variation, since the bansuri's

the only instrument that plays the main melody.

We'll also have it play alongside some other instruments in other sections.

Finally, what I really want to talk about here is the balance of volume and sound between

the Persian strings and bansuri.

Have a listen to this:

Wasn't the bansuri a bit hard to make out?

That's because there's conflict between frequencies.

For now, it's fine to know that sounds are made up of different frequencies, and by changing

the volume levels of certain frequencies, we thus change the sound's quality.

In this case, the bansuri's overall sound is more defined in mid-frequency ranges.

Should you lower the volume of its mid-frequencies, the instrument is no longer clearly audible

or defined.

The problem is that it sits in a similar spot as the Persian strings, so it can be tough

to keep it from mixing with the sound of the strings.

Therefore, thanks to equalization, we gradually lowered the volume of such frequencies for

the strings, just as soon as the main melody kicks in.

That way, the lead instrument is clearly and fully audible.

The strings lost their unique sound qualities, but that's the price we have to pay for clarity.

This is all basically a game of sacrifice.

It's like Fire Emblem, but with frequencies -- and sometimes just as ridiculous.

At long last, I finally made another video -- and I'm a lot more proud of this one, too!

It's a shame this one took longer to make, but I guess that's the price I have to pay

for quality.

I love this series, yet it still manages to be the bane of my existence.

Hi, my name is Nai Damato and I wanted to give a few tips about making LGBT events

accessible to Disabled people. So, the first point I wanted to make is planning

stages. Try to plan events at times and places that are accessible. So, many LGBT

events are centered around nightlife, tend to be later in the evening, and at

bars or clubs. That leaves out a lot of people who either have limited energy or

chronic pain from chronic illnesses, and it also leaves out a lot of people who

have psych disabilities such as eating disorders or trauma around alcohol. And

for people who are overwhelmed by lots of sensory information, a crowded loud

bar that has flashing lights--or club--can be overwhelming. So try to plan events

more on the weekends, during the daytime, and at locations that are near public

transit for people who can't drive. Most people know to pick a venue that's

wheelchair-accessible at the entrance, but don't forget about once you enter

and also the bathrooms.

There's also considerations for people who don't use a wheelchair but still

can't stand for a long time so make sure there's seating available that's

comfortable, and make sure that it's not overly scented. So, lots of strong

perfumes or fragrances can leave out a lot of

people as well. For events that are more information-based, pace is really

important. Make sure the pace of the event isn't so fast that it's leaving

out people who are depending on interpreters, or added a visual

description. You can send out PowerPoints and so on in advance, so that people can

have them to review ahead of time, as well as handouts. Try to send those in

plain text for screen reader users. So that sign language interpreters can

follow, make sure that only one person is speaking at a time, and again that

information isn't being presented too quickly. In terms of visual description,

avoid assuming identity based on appearance. For example, just by looking

at me--I'm wearing a collared shirt sunglasses, I have short sand-colored

hair--you don't necessarily know what my gender is. So, try to seek that

information from people and have them describe themselves, if possible. And then

if not, really stick to what you see. Imagine, for example, if I'm aiming to

present one way, but someone describes me as presenting another way. I'm non-binary,

and you can only know that from me telling you. Recently, on two occasions,

when I was having a video described to me, and I happened to know the person in

the video personally, the person describing it to me described the person

in the video as "white" when I knew they were mixed-race, in one case,

and in the other case they were South Asian Desi, and were misidentified as

white. So, again be careful about assuming identities based on appearance I also

want to mention on the deeper cultural level, a lot of the rhetoric and

discussion around queerness and transness is very appearance-based and

very able-bodied normative-based. So, I'd like to see more discussion of

transness beyond just who's passing, and who appears this way, and so on. Or also,

in terms of queerness, there's many ways to be a queer person that don't

necessarily look an abled-normative way. So, for example, a lot of my clothing

choices aren't only dictated by my gender identity and by my wanting other

queer people to pick up on me being queer, it's also dictated by my chronic pain

level and my sensory aversions. So, try to reframe how you understand people's

identities based on the make-up, or the clothing, or the hairstyles, and so on,

that they choose. I hope those tips were helpful so far, and enjoy the rest of

Hello friends and not yet friends,

Welcome back to another What I Ate Wednesday.

Before we get into all the vegan deliciousness, I really have to thank you for all your amazing

comments last week.

I really appreciate your encouragement so much.

Your comments lifted me sky high, I couldn't believe it.

You've given me so much more motivation and optimism.

You know what else is good for motivation and optimism?

Coffee.

And this morning I'm having it with blueberry muffins.

I'm only showing you one but I ate 3 already.

They are really good, unfortunately I can't share the recipe with you, got to get Vegan

For Everybody but America's Test Kitchen for this one.

But honestly, even though this is delicious AF, it's quite a bit of work compared to other

muffin recipes.

Because it uses whipped up aquafaba to help it rise.

And if you haven't tried whipping up aquafaba before, it's pretty cool.

It whips up like egg white, but it can take forever.

Later I had my usual smoothie.

This time with blueberries.

And as usual, a scoop of chocolate protein powder.

Last time someone asked me what it was exactly.

It's PNI supplements plant protein advanced chocolate.

With, another usual scoop of plain Vega one.

I love that I'm getting in a cup of berries for all their wonderful antioxidants and other

nutrients.

All the stuff in Vega one like vitamins, minerals, probiotics.

Plus all the protein to keep a full and help repair and build muscles and in particular,

tendons.

For lunch I have these seitan burgers.

I basically took my scallion seitan sausage recipe, added parsley, cumin and lemon, formed

them into burger shapes, then cooked to them in broth in the oven at 400°F, about an hour.

So these are cold out of the fridge, and I'll just put one on my grill pan with a little

oil.

And while that cooks, I want to thank you for all your tips about tempeh from last week.

You guys are so smart!

I had no idea that tempeh gets more bitter as it ages.

And I guess I will have to steam or simmer my tempeh in the future to make sure there's

no bitterness.

I hate the extra step, but sometimes there are limits to my laziness.

And that burger is good and hot.

Ready to go on a whole wheat bun with aquafaba mayo and some green onion.

I'm keeping things simple.

This burger has a really nice meaty texture that's toothsome because I kneaded the seitan

dough really well in my food processor.

So well that I actually broke the food processor bowl so no more of these until I get a new

one.

Sad times.

Please let me know if you have a strong food processor that you love so I can check it

out while I think about how I want to replace mine.

Not sad times, this burger though.

It's really juicy on the inside due to cooking in broth.

I'm sorry that I can't share the exactrecipe with you because I didn't really measure anything...but

you've got the basics right?

I'm sure you can wing it with what I did give you.

Last week a lot of you asked me to share the mac & cheese recipe.

I can't; you have to buy the edgy veg cookbook for that one!

But, that cheese sauce recipe is very similar to the standard potato and 2 carrots cheese

sauce recipe that you've seen on tasty or buzz food and 1 million other blogs.

I first saw it in What Fat Vegans Eat, the Facebook group.

One of my favorite groups of all time.

I added a box of extra firm silken tofu for creaminess and protein.

From that base, you can add whatever flavoring ingredients you want.

So I added kimchi.

Super sour, and in the fridge for months or I'm not sure may be a year, full of probiotics

though I'm not sure if that really does anything if you add it to your macaroni bake.

But we don't really care do we.

We just want some cheesy goodness.

When I making sauces like this, I just add stuff, blend it, and taste as I go.

Just add stuff as you like.

Tangy and creamy.

You can't really taste the kimchi but it adds umami.

A savoriness from fermentation.

Here I have a bunch of macaroni noodles cooked up.

Then some vegan butter, about 2 tablespoons.

When that's all melted and mixed in, add our creamy sauce.

Might as well add some greens.

I'm using frozen veg as I tend to do these days.

It's nice because we can pack a lot of greens in because they are pre-wilted.

And a pack of veggie ground.

I'm using Yves original veggie ground today.

Lentils would also be good in this.

Maybe beans.

Because we're adding so much stuff, got to make sure there's enough seasoning.

Finally, top with nooch.

That's nutritional yeast for those new here.

By the way, who is new here?

Show of hands.

Then some whole wheat panko.

And this gets baked at 400F for 30 minutes.

And now we have a creamy veggie burger mac casserole to eat all week long.

It's so good!
