BREAKING YOUR VLOGGING SLUMP! Fix it now! - Duration: 6:26.

what's up Shenanigans, John here and I am back I'm back once again during my

slump period I just got off work and I have not taken off anything cuz today I

want to talk about slack slump so I want to talk about slumps today having a

slump whether it be riding slump a riding block or a video block whatever

you want to call this thing that we go through now after three and a half years

on YouTube I've seen the evidence low of many

different creators to include myself where we make a ton of content and then

we go through a period where we don't make a lot there's just times where I

feel more passionate about some of the topics that I want to talk about that

usually what happens and I've showed you guys in the past I created a thing

called John's vlog ideas I won't lie my wife made this for me because I needed

some sort of juror some sort of creative journal to write down all these ideas to

kind of catalog them and then check them off as they do them I write in here a

lot it's almost like a journal just things I think of not just vlog ideas

but I do journal in here to try to maybe maybe kind of glean a little bit of what

I want to talk about sometimes from these just abstract writings that I do

I'm very passionate about YouTube I'm passionate about creating whether it's

been podcasts that I used to do or acting or running or just pretty much

anything you want to do in life that I do in life that is I put 110% in and

usually if I'm not putting 110% in I'm putting in about 5% in and that's been

problematic for this channel when I want to create content like the worst part

about all of this and going through these slumps is I know what I need to do

I mean I write these, I write about it I post videos about these

things and still I go through it and I still see it from some of the bigger

vloggers I think they are better at covering it up because I they Bank a lot of content

and they release it good on you for hiding that but I don't like doing that

for many different reasons none of them probably good I've written

a lot of things in here that they do interest me but as I read through them

sometimes I'm just not feeling it some days I just want to talk to you guys

because I do should I miss the interaction you guys

are awesome so you know the the daily guilt that I feels I'm not creating

content for you guys in for us but I feel bad that I'm letting you all down

that I'm not being consistent and therefore people start to check out and

kind of distance himself from channels when they just kind of feel like they've

died this channel has not died I started another channel called buy it try it fix

it or make it it's kind of a channel it's kind of catch-all on a catch-all

channel for doing all of the crafts and things that I'm doing like working on my

deck and working my cars and the crafts and the fixing things that I do we do a

lot of that kind of stuff around here and I just never film it because it just

doesn't really fit with the shanigan s' and I think I bore a lot of you to death

watch me replace a radiator and my old truck but I do see that there is an

audience for that out there so I've created another channel I'll link that

below if you're interested so again getting back to this motivation thing

I've been really thinking about this and when I first started tons of motivation

little ability I spent a lot of time trying to learn the process that I had

down now and now that I have a lot of that down I have a lot more skill now

I'm lacking the drive just I don't know what it is it's usually when I get busy

in my own life that I just start to lose the motivation to come do this and like

most things I've learned when I've been running is this the first thing you can

do is just get moving you know put your running clothes on put your shoes on get

down there it's hard and I've learned that the how did I got to do that with

this and I've talked about this in the past with having my camera set up I do

have a studio kind of set up here have my lights and my camera rig that stays

set up I've even bought another boom mic and what else I'm good another camera

stance I could do due to camera type setups it's coming and I'm super excited

about it I'm still investing in this they'll have see John run that I'm super

passionate about running I've been getting back and I've been running the

last leak and getting back into the swing of things and again this is all

about motivation just getting that first step in the right direction doing the

little things you need to do to make it a little less hard to say no

over a little harder to say no whatever you want to however you want to put that

so I have everything set up I'm gonna come down here and I'm just gonna start

freestyling here I'm gonna start talking about whatever it is it's on my mind

that day just to try to get some momentum going and interaction with you

all you know you guys have been great over the years I really appreciate all

the support you've given me I love the interaction you guys are awesome it is

something that I miss a lot when I'm not vlogging I'm not creating because I love

creating I love talking with you guys and just bring someone across the the

things that we all go through as creators out here on YouTube so if you

are a new creator and you're just getting into this realize you're gonna

go through the ups and downs you just have to find a way to stick through it

grind it out I've been grinding for three and a half years now we're coming

up on two thousand subscribers super proud super happy about that I said it's

our journey you know some people grow up quicker some people grow slower and it

doesn't matter I'm having a great time out here doing what I'm doing we have

almost 400 videos you can't take that away from me super proud of that and

yeah just know that we're all gonna go through this thing sometimes and just

don't let it bother you don't let it get you down just keep moving forward do

everything you can possibly do to keep yourself creating whether you think it's

your best or not not every video can be your best I was told by someone I

respect greatly on YouTube that there's always gonna be another video so when

you make one you're like not my best effort or that just didn't come out the

way that I hoped you always have the chance at another video another chance

to knock it out of the park so with that I say thank you guys I hope

you have a great 4th of July if you're the United States

I got be safe don't blow anything up like fingers be saving with fireworks

people and until next time I will see you love you

Kristin Mink: 5 Things To Know About Teacher Who Told Scott Pruitt To Resign In A Restaurant - Daily - Duration: 3:42.

Kristin Mink has gone viral after her husband filmed her in a restaurant urging EPA head Scott Pruitt to resign

Learn more about the teacher and activist, here!    1. She confronted EPA head Scott Pruitt about his "corruption

" Kristin Mink's husband filmed her (watch below) calmly walking up to Pruitt at DC restaurant Teaism on July 2 with her baby in tow

Reading from handwritten notes, Kristin urged Pruitt to resign, stating, "We deserve to have somebody at the EPA who actually does protect our environment, somebody who believes in climate change and takes it seriously for the benefit of all of us, including our children

I would urge you to resign before your scandals push you out."    "This is my son

He loves animals. He loves clean air. He loves clean water. Meanwhile, you're slashing strong fuel standards for cars and trucks, for the benefit of big corporations

" Pruitt and bodyguards left the restaurant before she sat back down.  She later told HuffPost, "He had no defense

He had no explanation. He had no apology. He had nothing to say. When you are a government official… you are supposed to be directly working for the citizens that you're serving

He's a public servant. When you're in that position, you should want to hear from the people who you are supposed to be taking care of

"  2. She said she did it for her two-year-old son, who is seen in the video with her

In a statement to Splinter, Mink explained:  "His actions are the source of so much of my despair for my child's future and frankly the future of humanity

He's literally sacrificing our air and water, the well-being of coastal communities, all kinds of unique natural resources, for short-term personal gains

Buying stupid crap like a soundproof phone booth for his office and first-class plane tickets with taxpayer dollars, living in housing discounted for him by an energy group while he does favors for their clients

I honestly don't know how he sleeps at night. It feels very personal. That's why I decided to introduce him to my son

Like, you are wrecking the earth THIS KID, every kid, will inherit."  3. She's a sixth grade teacher

Mink teaches sixth grade at the prestigious Sidwell Friends school in Washington, DC, while counts Malia Obama, Chelsea Clinton, Punisher's Jon Bernthal, and even Bill Nye as alumni

Sasha Obama is a current student.  4. She was arrested for protesting the Trump administration just last week

Mink told The New York Post that she was arrested last week at the Hart Senate Office Building while protesting the separation of children from their families at the US-Mexico border

She said that she didn't approach Pruitt as an activist, but as a "mom and citizen

"  5. Scott Pruitt thanked her for confronting him. No, really. Lincoln Ferguson, EPA spokesman, said Pruitt,"always welcomes input from Americans, whether they agree or disagree with the decisions being made at EPA

This is evident by him listening to her comments and going on to thank her, which is not shown in the video

"

The Liverpool Mounds in Illinois Part 1 - Rediscovering Hopewell Ritual and Meaning - Duration: 9:54.

"Archaeology seeks to explain the inner workings of cultures in which even baked clay jars were animated with their particular spirits

But, until as archaeologists we develop more than a little empathy for the prehistoric Indians we presume to understand, prehistory may never be more than what it has become, the soulless artifact of a dehumanized science

" .--Robert Hall, "Ghosts, Water Barriers, Corn, and Sacred Enclosures in the Eastern Woodlands", American Antiquity Vol

41, No. 3, 1976, pp. 360-364.The quote above from the great anthropologist Robert Hall (1927-2012) encapsulates one of the most pervasive issues in the archaeology of the Eastern Woodlands and the Plains of North America: it lives in the shadow of an altogether soulless legacy

During the late 1800s and early 1900s, both antiquarians and archaeological institutions, whose only purpose was the recovery and documentation of exotic artifacts, wantonly destroyed a vast number of important burial mounds and other sites in the greater Mississippi Valley

Path of Destruction. For example, between 1882 and 1886, the Bureau of American Ethnology of the Smithsonian Institution excavated over 2,000 mounds in 140 U

S. counties, obtaining 40,000 artifacts. And yet, in spite of having the resources to conduct such a massive operation and the opportunity to cast a serious light on the ancient cultures whose graves they plundered, the agents of the Bureau were working under a mandate issued from director John Wesley Powell, which insisted that all discoveries made in the mounds could only be interpreted as evidence of a savage and barbaric people

By the mid-twentieth century, things were changing in American archaeology, as archaeologists such as William S

Webb, Don Dragoo, Ernest Sutton and Olaf Prufer began to delve into the possible cultural history and meaning behind the extravagant burial mounds of the Ohio Valley

Unfortunately, this work was offset by the contemporary "research" of individuals like Raymond S

Baby of the Ohio Historical Society, who used bulldozers and dynamite to excavate some of the most important burial mounds in Ohio

In more recent times several philosophical researchers, most notably Cheryl Claassen, Robert Hall, George Lankford, William Romain, and Christopher Carr, have contributed colossal efforts to understanding the prehistoric cultures as the legacy of living people, whose own traditions can be found embodied in the rites and practices of the ancients

In this article we follow in the footsteps of these figurative giants in re-examining a little known group of Hopewell mounds in Illinois

The Liverpool Mounds. The Liverpool Mound group consisted of five Hopewell burial mounds (F°77, F°78, F°79, F°80, and F°87) situated on the west side of the Illinois River in Fulton County Illinois, one half mile below the village of Liverpool

The mounds were subjected to excavations on several occasions between 1926 and 1930, including explorations by Frank Solomon (a commercial digger), the Dickson brothers, and the University of Chicago

Cole and Deuel recorded many of the findings in a volume published in 1937. It is possible that the Liverpool site was multi-component (used by more than one culture over time)

As such, only the definitively Hopewellian material will be discussed in this article

Liverpool Mound F°77 - Log Tomb A. At the center of Mound F°77, a rectangular log tomb (hereafter Log Tomb A) had been constructed by stacking logs 6-8 inches (15

24-20.32 cm) in diameter three deep at each side and end. Two saplings had been placed at each corner to function as supports for a bark roof over the tomb

In the Northeast of the tomb was a 6-8 inch deep clay pit, which exhibited evidence of burning

Three burials were found in Log Tomb 1, two of which were associated with bead necklaces and a copper celt, while the third wore a necklace of bear teeth

Log Tomb B. The second log tomb of Mound F°77 (hereafter Log Tomb B) featured ends and sides one log high, and a covering of split logs

In the northeastern corner was a cremation pit lined with heavy clay, burned to a deep red

The bottom of the pit was covered with wood ash, in which were three scorched bone skewers

Over the ash was a deposit of artifacts including a Hopewell platform pipe with a frog effigy, a copper adze, and a cut human upper jawbone

There were eight human burials in Log Tomb B (5 males, 2 females, and 1 child). Burial 1 included a necklace of marine shell beads and a piece of horn shaped fossil and was surrounded by 13 bone skewers which may have held down a covering

Burials 2 and 3 both wore necklaces, and a copper awl was found between them. Burial 7 featured a necklace of river pearls including a bear tooth pendant with inset pearls, and a copper adze

At the center of Log Tomb B was a conch shell with a large deposit of lime, and mica flakes, galena fragments, and quartzite pebbles were scattered about the floor

Mat Burial. Mound F°77 also included a "Mat Burial", where an extended body was found covered with burned pieces of a bark or reed mat pegged down with three bone skewers

Upon the mat were fragments of lime and copper flakes. The overall burial had been covered with a canopy, which was also burned

The skeleton featured a deposit of stones near the head, a necklace of 120 silver beads, between 400 and 500 pearl beads (once attached to a garment)

A copper adze, copper blade, and a cut human upper jaw had all been all placed below the feet

Liverpool Mound F°78 Log Tomb C. Liverpool Mound F°78 contained yet another log tomb (Log Tomb C), which was between 3 and 4 feet (0

91-1.22 meters) in height and constructed of oak logs. The tomb contained multiple burials with such artifacts as 37 bone daggers and/or awls, 10 split bear teeth, 2 bear canine teeth cut into dagger shapes, 6 copper awls, 1 Hopewellian platform smoking pipe, around 300 pearl beads, and 1 string each of pearl and shell beads

Liverpool Mound F°79 - Rock Wall Tomb. Liverpool Mound F°79 contained a rock walled tomb 10 feet (3

05 meters) long and 20 feet (6.10 meters) wide, which featured a puddled clay lining holding the stones in place

Within the tomb were around 40 burials, each surrounded by smaller circular rock walls 2-10 inches (5

08-25.4 cm) wide. An ash-covered area was located in the southwestern corner of the large tomb

A number of artifacts were found with the dead in the F°79 tomb, including 27 bone skewers, 1 frog effigy pipe, 1 pearl bead necklace, around 1200 pearl slug beads, 82 copper beads, 1 copper wedge, 10 imitation bear teeth made of sheet copper, 2 pink flint cores, and 4 human upper jaws and 1 lower jaw, which had been cut and perforated for suspension

Having described the features of the Liverpool Mounds, the second part of this article will focus on the possible symbolic meanings of this site in the contexts of Hopewell studies and the traditions of historic Native American peoples

FAQs From Our First Year - Duration: 10:02.

Hey.

We've been together for a long time now.

A year, as a matter of fact!

But if it feels like we've known each other for slightly longer than one year, it's probably because,

over the course of the first season of PBS Eons, we've explored the history of Earth from the very

origins of life right up to the Cenozoic Era which is what we're in right now.

And along the way, you've asked some really excellent questions.

We've tried to address some of them in the comments.

But some of the most common questions we've gotten turned out to have some interesting

and complicated answers.

Others … were just about why we pronounce things the way we do.

Either way, we'd like to celebrate our first anniversary together by answering some of

your most frequently asked questions.

One of our most f a'd q's came from our episode on the Great Snake Debate, and the

conflicting theories about snake evolution.

In the episode, we noted that, somewhere around 200 million years ago, snakes diverged from

lizards.

But were they aquatic or terrestrial?

And both fossil anatomy and modern genetic evidence seem to add support to both theories.

So many of you asked: Why not both?

Well, all snakes need a common ancestor.

If snakes evolved from two different lineages of lizard, and both became "snake-like,"

that would be an example of convergent evolution.

And this has happened!

It's why there are such things as legless lizards today, as well as true snakes.

Both animals converged on the same body plan that helped them survive and reproduce.

But it's unlikely that some lineages would come from marine reptiles,

and others would come from

terrestrial reptiles, and then they all wound up being snakes.

That's not how evolution works..

usually.

There is a rare phenomenon known as despeciation or reverse speciation, in which two

lineages converge and form a hybrid.

But this has only been observed in modern species like the common raven and stickleback

fish.

Teasing this out of the sparse fossil record of snakes would be a challenge...if not impossible.

However I should mention that our understanding of the evolutionary history of snakes, as

well as so many things, is still a work in progress.

Now, let's move on to our episode about Spinosaurus, which we described as the only

known semi-aquatic dinosaur.

To which many of you responded: What about Halszkaraptor?

Well, it was only in November of 2017 that, Halszkaraptor, a new Dromaeosaurid dinosaur,

was described from the Late Cretaceous of Mongolia.

After confirming the specimen was genuine -- it has a shady past -- the researchers

found it to be semiaquatic.

The specimen was collected by poachers, smuggled through China and into Europe.

Luckily it was rescued by a paleontologist at the Royal Belgian Institute of Natural

Sciences and will be returned to Mongolia once researchers are finished with it.

We probably should have mentioned Halszkaraptor in the episode, but we didn't due to the

newness of the specimen.

There hasn't been much time for the scientific community to review the conclusions put forth

in the report, and as you'll learn in a little bit, there's a LOT about Spinosaurus

that people are still arguing about.

But if you'd like to check out the manuscript and do your own peer review, it can be found

in the description.

And of course, I'd be remiss if I didn't mention a question that has come up time and

again in the past year, especially in our episode on Triassic animals:

Nitch or neesh?

Well, we consulted the online Oxford english dictionary to see how to pronounce this word,

and it lists both nitch and neesh as acceptable pronunciations.

So there

I'd like to answer a question that's related to Kallie's.

Not the niche thing, the other one.

Was Spinosaurus bipedal or quadrupedal?

Turns out there's more than one controversy about this animal.

Not only is there some debate about whether Spinosaurus was the only semi-aquatic dinosaur,

there's also not a real consensus about how many legs this thing walked on, and when.

It may have walked on two legs, or four, or switched back and forth, depending on whether

it was on land or in water.

As with so many things in this field, it depends on who you ask.

For example, if you're the person who first found and named Spinosaurus -- that would

be Ernst Freiherr Stromer von Reichenbach -- then you'd say it walked on two legs.

Because, one thing that everyone pretty much agreed on was that Spinosaurus was a theropod,

and that's one of a theropod's defining features.

So, in his reconstruction of Spinosaurus, he drew it on its hind legs.

But, if you're the person who found the most recent and complete fossils of Spinosaurus,

then you'd say otherwise.

Nizar Ibrahim revolutionized our thinking about Spinosaurus when he found fossils of

it from Morocco in 2008.

And in 2014, he and his colleagues published a paper suggesting that spinosaurus was an

obligate quadruped, meaning that it had to walk on all fours, at least on land.

They based this on the size of its hindlimbs, the location of its center of mass, and the

orientation of its hips.

But this model has gotten a lukewarm reception from other researchers.

Some have taken issue with the measurements used in the study.

Others pointed out that even Ibrahim's exquisite specimen was still incomplete, including the

legs.

OH but, if you're Jurassic Park, then Spinosaurus is definitely a biped.

But that's mainly because Jurassic Park III came out before Ibrahim's paper.

And anyway, we try not to use Jurassic Park movies a whole lot in our research

Another common question came from our episode on the Cenozoic era, the era that leads right

up to today.

And that question was basically variations on: "Is the Anthropocene a thing?"

The answer here is a very clear: Not yet.

To give you some background here, back in 2000, two scientists -- atmospheric chemist Paul

Crutzen and aquatic biologist Eugene Stormer -- proposed that the current epoch of geologic

time that we're now in, be given a new name, the Anthropocene.

They argued that humans have had such a dramatic impact on the planet that -- just as with

any other game-changing event -- that impact should mark the beginning of its own epoch.

And yes I pronounce it "epoch."

You can say it in your head however you want.

Now, even though this proposal is nearly 20 years old, it's still not an official part

of the Geologic Time Scale.

But it has stirred a really interesting debate, not just about what our impacts are on the

planet, but how we can actually measure them.

For instance, if we're gonna create a new epoch, then which of our many marks on the

land would signal its beginning?

Crutzen and Stormer first proposed that the Anthropocene should begin in the late 1700s.

That's when ice cores begin to show a rapid rise in concentrations of CO2, as the burning

of fossil fuels first became widespread during the Industrial Revolution.

But others have suggested that more visible boundaries might be useful for future geologists.

Like, some have proposed that concrete and cement be the markers, because they started

to come into widespread use in the late 1800s.

Others have suggested plastics, which have been filling our landfills since the early

20th century.

And one paper, which Crutzen co-wrote, proposed that the Anthropocene should begin exactly on July

16th 1945, when the first nuclear bomb was detonated in New Mexico.

Because decades of nuclear testing have left an unmistakable concentration of isotopes

like plutonium-239.

Now, some experts have argued that the whole thing is a bad idea.

They point out that the concept itself is kind of human-centric instead of geology-centric,

and that human impacts have escalated at different times in different parts of the world.

In any case, the fate of the Anthropocene Epoch now rests with the official keepers

of the Geologic Time Scale, a group known as the International Commission on Stratigraphy.

The proposal was submitted in 2016, and since then the commission has been … thinking

about it.

As you can imagine, decisions about geologic time do not happen quickly.

Ok. And here's another question that I personally would like to address.

It's this one:

Now, that's not really a question.

It's more of an equation.

But for what it's worth, Merriam Webster lists the pronunciation of that word as either

"nitch," or "neesh".

Finally, one of our most frequently asked questions came from our episode about the

Mesozoic Era, the so-called Age of Reptiles.

And since the Mesozoic was the heyday of the dinosaurs, a lot of you asked: Are dinosaurs

reptiles?

And does that mean that birds are also reptiles?

And the answer is: yes and no.

But also, yes and yes.

It depends on what system you use to classify organisms.

The system that's been around the longest is the Linnaean system, named after Swedish

biologist Carl Linnaeus.

It classifies living things based on their physical characteristics, and then ranks them

based on how similar they are, from the general to the specific -- from domain to species.

And in this system, the class Reptilia includes air-breathing animals with backbones and scales.

To be a reptile, you had to have those things.

And birds do!

But the thing is, technically, the class Reptilia does NOT include birds.

Instead, they're part of another class called Aves.

This is partly because Linnaeus defined the classes of modern animals in the 1700's,

long before we understood the evolutionary relationships of things.

But still, dinosaurs were closely related to -- and they shared traits with -- animals

that are un-arguably reptiles, like crocodiles.

So, according to Linnaean Taxonomy, dinosaurs are in class Reptilia; they're reptiles.

But birds aren't, mainly for historical reasons.

Now, many biologists and paleontologists today want to name things in a way that reflects

their shared evolutionary history.

This system classifies organisms into clades, and it's called cladistics.

and in this system, since dinosaurs derived directly from reptiles and share a close evolutionary

relationship with them, they're still considered reptiles, because they belong to the reptile

clade.

And, so are birds!

Because birds descended from dinosaurs, so they belong to the dinosaur clade, which itself

belongs to the reptile clade.

This makes birds both dinosaurs AND reptiles.

Which is weird, I know.

But a lot of science comes down to arguing about things -- like, whether Halszkaraptor

was aquatic, or whether we should name a new epoch after ourselves, or who belongs in what

clade.

The things to remember is that there can be many different, conflicting, proposed answers

to a single question.

And by arguing with each other over the facts, we just might sort some of them out.

Oh, and when it comes to how you pronounce this word?

I pronounce it: "jif."

JUST IN SPECIAL COUNSEL MUELLER ISSUES SUBPOENA - Duration: 12:59.

JUST IN SPECIAL COUNSEL MUELLER ISSUES SUBPOENA

Special Counsel Robert Mueller was appointed earlier this year in order to investigate

any possible collusion between President Trump's campaign and the Russian government.

Now, it seems like they make the first serious move in a long time.

Via Mix Politics:

NBC News reported that a source close to the investigation revealed that Mueller's team

has issued a subpoena to the Trump campaign asking multiple campaign officials to produce

Russia-related documents.

The subpoenas reportedly do not compel testimony by any of the officials.

The source went on to say that the campaign has already turned over some 20,000 documents

voluntarily, so it's not clear why the subpoena was issued.

Reports indicate that Trump's campaign was caught by surprise by the subpoenas.

"Sending a subpoena to an entity that says it has been cooperating with document requests

isn't unusual in cases in which prosecutors have some concern that their demands aren't

being met promptly or aren't being entirely fulfilled," the Wall Street Journal reported.

This came hours after the top Republican and Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee

said that White House Senior Adviser Jared Kushner, President Trump's son-in-law, hasn't

been fully forthcoming with the panel's probe into Russian election interference,

asking him to provide emails sent to him involving WikiLeaks and a "Russian backdoor overture

and dinner invite."

Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, and Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif.,

sent a letter to Abbe Lowell, Kushner's lawyer, saying that the documents he has given

the committee are "incomplete."

Lowell replied by saying that Kushner has been "responsive to all requests."

"We provided the Judiciary Committee with all relevant documents that had to do with

Mr. Kushner's calls, contacts or meetings with Russians during the campaign and transition,

which was the request," Lowell said.

"We also informed the committee we will be open to responding to any additional requests

and that we will continue to work with White House Counsel for any responsive documents

from after the inauguration."

In their letter, Grassley and Feinstein said that they had previously asked him to provide

documents to, from, or copied to him "relating to" certain individuals of interest to investigators,

but Kushner responded that no emails had been found in which those individuals were sent

emails, received emails, or were copied on them.

"If, as you suggest, Mr. Kushner was unaware of, for example, any attempts at Russian interference

in the 2016 presidential election, then presumably there would be few communications concerning

many of the persons identified in our second request, and the corresponding burden of searching

would be small," the senators wrote.

The subpoena marks the first time Trump's campaign has been ordered to turn over information

to Mueller's investigation.

Mueller has previously subpoenaed former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort and several

of his associates, as well as subpoenaing several banks to obtain Manafort's financial

records.

In late October, Manafort was charged with multiple counts, including conspiracy against

the United States and money laundering related to his work for a pro-Russia political party

in Ukraine.

His former business associate, Richard Gates, was also indicted.

PG&E Stresses 811 to Keep Ag Community Safe - Duration: 2:34.

Matt Toste has been ginning cotton for nearly 20 years in

Huron, located on Fresno County's west side.

This plant here can do between 500 to 600 finished bales a day.

We do quite a bit of cotton through here.

Even though the cotton gins now sit idle

for the season, workers stay busy with

equipment maintenance and facility upgrades throughout the

year. Some of these projects involve digging.

Out in this area and in the Central Valley we have a lot of

gas transmission lines

so we recommend that our ag customers

call 811 anytime they are going to do any kind of a digging

project. This particular customer has a gas transmission

line that runs right along their property. They have to be very

careful about anytime they are doing any work so they are very

observant of where the line is. By calling 811 two business days

in advance of a digging project, utility companies with

underground lines in the area can send representatives out to

mark the location of lines so customers can avoid them and dig

safely. It's important to call 811 because we have transmission

lines buried out here. There are markers, but it is safe and best

to call 811 to locate them. It's a free service and it's just a

phone call. It's real easy to use. There's a lot of reasons

you should call 811. If you didn't, the consequences could

be someone gets hurt, it causes disruption of service to your

area and possibly your operation could be shut down until repairs

were made. California's multi-billion dollar ag industry

is a significant part of PG&E's customer base. For over 30 years

PG&E has participated in the World Ag expo. The three-day

event, held this year February 13th through the 16th in Tulare,

is the largest annual agricultural exposition of its

kind. A customer can come and ask us about a pump efficiency

test, about their rates, about their metering, a lot of

different information is provided at the expo. Meeting

face-to-face with customers at the expo provides an opportunity

for PG&E to showcase new technology and stress the

importance of safety in the field, such as calling 811

before digging. We usually employ the same folks year in

year out. Their safety is important to us and it's

important to the community because we'd like everyone to go

home to their families at the end of the day.

PowerPathway Veteran Graduates Helped Wildfire Restoration Efforts - Duration: 2:00.

Every day at PG&E is Veteran's Day. Since WWI, the company has

worked to hire, train and retrain veterans. Like the Armed

Forces, many PG&E jobs require disciplined work practices while

providing a chance to serve others. Veterans were among the

4,300 enlisted to carry out the company's mission of restoring

service to customers during the October wildfires. Two veterans

were recent graduates of the first PowerPathway training for

active military personnel. Miles Barretta's crew cut off gas

service at homes impacted by the North Bay wildfires. George

Riley's team helped set up the Napa Basecamp and controlled

traffic.

Serving my country was great. Serving the people of

Napa, especially during these fires has been a really good

experience.

I was kind of proud to say you know what, I'm proud

to be part of this group of people, this army of blue. It

was a proud moment. Barretta and Riley did their PowerPathway

program at Joint Base Lewis McChord near Tacoma. Today,

Barretta is a gas construction supervisor in Napa. Riley is a

traffic control supervisor for gas operations in the Central

Coast region. That's from South San Francisco to Los Padres. On

this day, Barretta had been to three different locations in the

Napa-Vallejo area before lunch. Riley came up from San Jose to

supervise traffic control crews in Brentwood, located east of

Concord. I work with other lines of business, several lines of

business. You interact with them. Even though it's just

providing a service for them, you get to learn a little bit

about each line of business. Barretta and Riley have

appreciated their time in PG&E's nationally-recognized training

program. It provided me an opportunity to get a job after

the military to support me and my family. It's been a wonderful

experience coming here. Granted, there's a whole lot more to

learn but at least PowerPathway was the first step. It made it

easier for me.

For Currents, I'm Tony Khing.
