Youtube daily report Oct 20 2018

It's also in relation to...

What I felt regarding

this issue of metamorphosis,

is that's also has to do with conformity,

with all that's taken for granted...

Often society reduces us to those only!

Whereas this conformity,

this norm

is "a priori":

It's the societal unthought-of.

So, I think there's something to resist,

regarding these expectations from society.

DAY 5-6 OF MY JUICE FAST- CHECKOUT MY JUICE RECIPE🍹🍹🍹 - Duration: 4:01.

okay guys today what you are seeing here is a butternut squash pineapple and a

half a lemon I mean lime sorry with the skin on it

here is the pulp here of the butternut squash lime you see the skin here in the

pineapple so I use a whole small pineapple and a whole button that squash

to make a 32-ounce juice I strain the juice I wanted to make this video for a

couple of reasons one I just want to let you know if you ever had fresh pineapple

juice or butternut squash it's the consistency of a smoothie that has been

strained and also to give you the exact consistency of this juice whether it was

all pineapple long as it was freshly squeezed or if it was all butternut

squash or a blend it's going to be the consistency if you ever had a naked

juice which I think their smoothies they're not really juices naked juices

make smoothies they're the same consistency as that I fell in love with

this blend this is my second one I have three pineapples but I only bought two

butternut squash I don't know why I also took some of the pulp that was inside of

the cylinder that can sometimes still come out wet and I put it through my arm

straining bag and I strained some more juice which made it a total of 32 ounces

so what I'm gonna do with this pulp because I usually throw away the pulp is

I'm going to freeze this I'm not gonna let this go to waste and shit it did it

with the first batch that I did the other day when I made a butternut squash

pineapple in lime and I'm gonna make this for a sweet side dish when I stop

eating solid foods it'll be like candy yam you know on

candy yams with the yams cinnamon butter and sugar

it'll be cooked down you know to a consistency like mashed potatoes and

I'll have cinnamon butter and sugar some people add in there

pineapple juice the whole pineapples cut up so it's going to have that candy em

taste and it'll be a nice rich color with the with the cinnamon vanilla

extract and all that stuff you put in it and also the cooking process it's going

to be a nice rich vegetable side very sweet but not too sweet but it's going

to be a side dish that I'm gonna make I'm not going this way I said there's no

way this blend is something I can use this pulp here once you cook it down

it'll be the consistency of tomato I mean mashed potatoes I said tomatoes

and it'll melt in your mouth so usually don't show this part of the

process because I have OCD and is messy but I figured that I would drain the

juice show you the pulp show you the mess you know I had I'm unscrew the top

part we got the pulp that's wet and show you some of the messy process this is

like pretty much 25% of it left that I need to come clean up this is going to

go to the fries of the chill for about a hour then I'll put it in the

refrigerator and then whenever I feel like drinking it I'll drink it so just

thought I would share with you please follow me on Instagram you want to see

some of my juice at post I also put other people's juicy posts that inspire

me on there as well um so you can check that out and you can also see what I'm

doing on a daily basis when you can't find me on YouTube so what all that

being said please subscribe to the channel like and share this video and

make it a favorite and I'll see you in the next video bye for now

Python Tutorials - Quick Sort | Example 2 - Duration: 18:38.

Hello Guys and welcome to Python programming tutorials by Amuls Academy.

This tutorial is the continuation of the previous tutorial, in that we discussed about the Quicksort

algorithm and how to sort the number in the ascending order by taking the last element

as the pivot element and in this tutorial we will see how to select the first element

as the pivot element and how to take the random element, as well as how to take the median

of three values as the pivot element, as well as we will see how to arrange the number in

the descending order ok.

so this is the previous example and in that we took the last element as the pivot element

and we arrange the number in the ascending order so today we will take another example.

In that we will take the first element as pivot element and we will arrange number in

the ascending order first ok, ok so this is the example here we will take

the first element as the pivot ok so here this is the pivot value, so this will be the

right mark so the variable "right" which will point towards the last value of the list

and here this will be the "left" variable ok.

In the previous example when we took the last value as the pivot element then we took "left"

as the first element of the list and "right" as the last -1.

But here we took pivot as the first value so we need to take the next value as the "left"

value and the last value as "right" value ok so now we need to do the same thing that

is, we need to compare the values with the pivot element.

First we will start from the "left" ok so first i need to check whether "left index

is less than or equal to right", yes left is 1, right is 5, so left is the smaller,

so i will check the "value present in the left whether it is less than or equal to pivot

element". so first i will check "whether 26 is less

than or equal to 54", YES it is true, if it is true then i need to move towards the

next value right?, so now, so left will point towards 93, the value of left index is 2 ok.

So now again i will check whether "left is less than or equal to right", so left

value is 2, right value is 5, so left is less than right.

so i can check the value now, so I'll check "whether 93 is less than or equal to 54"

NO it is false, right?, is not true so i will stop here, now i will go to the right side

and I'll check the values.

so first thing i need to do is, i need to check whether "left is less than or equal

to right" ok yes it is, right value is greater.

so i will check the value present in the "right" that is, "31 is greater than or equal to

pivot value that is 54", ok in the right side we want the value greater than the pivot,

so I'll check, so this will be the right side.

OK i will check "31 is greater than or equal to 54 that is the pivot value", no it is

not ok the condition become false so I'll stop here.

so in the left side we got a value which is greater than pivot and in the right side we

got the value which is less than Pivot, so we need to swap those numbers, so we need

to swap 93 and 31 ok, so here 31 come here, 93 will go here ok.

so now again i will check from the left side, i will check first whether "left value is

less than or equal to right" this condition so yes left value is 2, right value is 5.

So left is smaller so i can check the next condition, that is the value present in the

left index is less than or equal to 54, so i need to check "31 is less than or equal

to 54" true right?, so i need to move to the next value so now left is 17.

so now again i will check whether "left is less than or equal to right", yes left

value is 3, right value is 5.

So left is smaller so then i will check, "the value present in the left that is 17 is less

than or equal to 54", yes again it is true so I'll move towards the next value.

so now left value is this ok left value become 4, the value present in that is 77.

so now again i will check, "whether left is less than or equal to right" yes left

value is 4, right value is 5, so left is smaller than right.

so i can check the value so "77 is less than or equal to 54" no it is not condition

become false.

so i need to stop here ok. now i will move towards the right side, so

I'll check the value present in the right, so before that i need to check "whether

left is less than or equal to right", this condition, YES it is true so i will the value

present in the right that is "93 is greater than or equal to 54" yes it is true.

so i need to move towards the next value, so right will point here now.

so now again I need to check, "whether the left is less than or equal to right", here

left is equal to right, because both are pointing towards index 4, so that's ok so i need to

check "the value present in the right, that is 77 is greater than the pivot value that

is 54".

Yes it is true right?, 77 is a greater value.

So i need to move towards the next value, so right will come here so right index become

3, so now to check the next condition i need to check this condition "whether left is

less than or equal right" no it is not, because left value is 4, but right value is

3, ok left is greater than right.

so if this condition occurs i need to stop everything right?, this means we got the correct

position of the pivot element, to place that in the correct position what we need to do,

we need to swap pivot value and the value present in the right Index.

why because previously as i said, if you take last element as the pivot ok, then you need

to swap the value present in the left index and pivot.

if you take first element as the pivot ok then you need to swap the value present in

the right index as well as pivot ok.

so i need to swap the value present in the right index as well as pivot that is nothing

but i need to swap 17 and 54 ok here we took value 54 as the pivot value.

so 54 is here now, we got the correct position of the 54 .

so now what is the next step, we need to divide the list based on the pivot element right?.

Value present in the left side of this pivot elements are smaller than pivot element.

The value present in the right side of the pivot element are greater than the pivot element.

so to divide this, we will get sublist here 17 26 31 here 77 93.

54 is sorted and we are dividing this as like this, ok so 54 is sorted.

Now again i need to do the same thing i need to take the first value as pivot ok and i

need to do the same steps and i need to place the correct position of the pivot value ok.

so here I'll take 17 as pivot, this as left, this as right, right?.

so I'll check whether "left is less than or equal to right", yes it is.

so I will check the value present in the, "26 is less than or equal to 17", no it

is not, so I'll stop.

I will go towards the right and I'll check whether "left is less than or equal to right"

i need to check this condition every time ok .

I need to check the value present in right index that is, "31 is greater than or equal

to 17" yes it is true right?, so i need to move towards the next value if the condition

become true i need to move towards the next value right?, so now left and right are pointing

towards the same index that is 1.

So left is equal to right that's ok this condition satisfies, so i need to check the value present

in the right ok so that is nothing but, this is for left and this is right right?, so value

present in the right index that is "26 is greater than or equal to 17", YES it is

true right?, because "26 is greater than 17".

so i need to move towards a next value, now right will point towards the pivot value that

is zero index, to check the next condition first i will check this "left is less than

or equal to right" here right is smaller than left.

left value is 1, right value 0 right?, so this condition fails.

so i need stop, now i need to swap the value present in the right and pivot because both

are same here, right is pointing towards zero index and pivot is also at 0 index.

That is nothing but i need to swap 17 with the 17, this is the correct position that

means this is present in the correct position ok so, 17 is in the correct position that

means so here 17 is the pivot value and it will divide the sublist as 26 and 31 ok there

are no sublist here because there is no element present in the left side of the pivot value.

ok so again we need to do the same thing, that is i need to take 26 as pivot element

and i need to find out its correct position and i need to divide the list.

Here we will get 26 as the pivot value right?, next and we will get 31 when we got the single

element we need to stop ok. so here, from here we will get 26 and 31 this

is 17 26 31 ok . so this are sorted that's why we got this

list .

And here we will do the same thing that is, we will take the first as the pivot element

and we will divide the list and when we get a single element in the list we will stop

ok.

So we will get the final output like this, ok so it is 17 31 54 77 93 ok the values are

in the ascending order .

so in this way, by taking the first Value as pivot element you can do that so there

is nothing difference in the previous example and in this example right?, we need to compare

the values with pivot element.

Pivot element can be last element or first element or we can choose it randomly also.

As i said these two method that is selecting the first element and last element as the

pivot is not good choice when the sorted list is given or reverse sorted list is given right?.

So in that time you can choose random element as pivot element or we can go for the median

of three values . Suppose if i take a list ok, so it contains

few elements.

In the program we will use random function ok.

We don't know which element we are selecting as the pivot.

for example we can take this as the pivot element ok.

So then i need to compare all these elements with the pivot element, to make it easier

to compare you can do one thing, if this is the pivot element it is present in the middle

of the list right?, So what i can do is, i can swap this value

with the last index or with the first index ok so something like this 8 3 if i swap it

to last index, then 1 4 17 ok.

Now 17 will be present at last.

So now you can solve this right?, this is similar to the taking last element as the

pivot element.

So choose a random element from the list as the pivot element then swap it to the last

position or the first position of the list then continue the process.

it is easier right?, there is no need of copying it to last position or first position but

sometimes we can see if i take this as left and this is right ok, in some cases left will

point towards the index where the pivot element is present right?, in that time we need to

compare 17 with the 17 . That is pivot element with the pivot element.

if you want to avoid this then you can do this, you can place that in the corner of

the list and you can compare all other values with that ok.

so if you compare pivot with pivot nothing is wrong, you can do that ok.

And for that median of three values what we can do is, median of, i can take first index

and that is the value present in the zeroth index and Middle index and the last.

first element last element and middle element ok so you can find out the median of this

three and you can take that element as the pivot element ok.

so in the program we will use the median function itself but if you want to find out manually

then you can do like this ok I'll show you how to find out the median now, so here what

you need to do is, you need to take the first value present in the zeroth index that is

10 ok so it is the first element, next i need to take the last element that is 1 last element.

Next i need to take middle element ok so here we can see there are even numbers so to find

out the middle element i will use like this ok.

so if i take this index as low, if it is as high ok so I'll take "low plus high truncated

division 2",ok this truncated division always will give the integer value so here "(0

+ 5) / 2", so it will give 2.

So this value will become middle valuel ok so 3, in this case .

so i need to find out the median right?, so to find out the median first I'll write down

the values that is 10 3 and 1 right?,the first element middle element and the last element

so now i need to sort this ok so in the ascending order, if i sort this 1 3 10 or descending

order.

so the middle element will be the median ok so here 3 will be the median ok, so I'll take

this as the pivot value and i can compare all the values with this pivot value and i

can sort the values . Ok so these are the four ways to select the

pivot element.

Next is, here in all example we arrange the number in ascending order if i want to arrange

number in the descending order then how to do that?, simple in that case you need to

change the symbol of this condition that's it.

Ok here we are checking "a of left" the value present in the left index should be

less than or equal to pivot, it is for ascending order but for the descending order you should

do is,"a of left" ok it should be greater than or equal to pivot because we want the

bigger value in the left side and here right side "a of right" should be less than

or equal to pivot.

Ok simple change like this ok.

10 4 1 17 23 5 ok so i took some random numbers, so here what I'll do is, I'll take the first

element as pivot element ok.

This will be left this will be right, i need to check whether the "left element is greater

than or equal to pivot", here we will check "4 is greater than or equal to 10", false

right?, so I'll stop here.

I will go to the right side here i want the element lesser than the pivot value.

so I'll check in the right side i will check "value 5 is less than or equal to 10"

yes it is true so i will move to the next value I'll take this as the right value ok.

I will check whether "23 is less than or equal to 10" no it is not, so i need to

swap 23 and 4 OK so this is the change Ok previously we wanted the smallest value in

the left side, bigger value in the right side but here opposite.

Here we want bigger value in left side and smaller value in the right side for that you

need to check this two condition ok this condition is same left always should be less than or

equal to right?.

Alright.

So in this way you can arrange the number in the descending order ok so that is about

the example guys.

So in the next tutorial we will see the algorithm as well as we will write the program for all

these condition.

so that's it for now guys thank you for watching don't forget to subscribe to my channel i

will meet you in next class till then take care.

with the new C as I would say gorgeous I like the front fascia I like the new

multi pixel grille the alloys are quite high caching especially the projector

headlamps and the DRS as well I guess the exciting things about the car is the

new 1.5 liter petrol motor it drives really well it's nice and punchy it's

nice and smooth also the new updated hybrid powertrain system works really

well it feels nice and refined doesn't feel like it's really interfering the

automatic transmission it was there before as well but it's nice to have the

SP and he'll hold I'm personally prefer the manual over

the automatic but it does the job the interiors has always been the highlight

of the ciaz and here things have just been kicked up another level the nice

little birch wood trim feels nice all the touch points are or feel nice

and premium I'm particularly a fan of the new design on the instrument

binnacle looks really cool and also the 4.2 inch color MIG display

Apollo 1's Fatal Fire Almost Ended the Program | Apollo - Duration: 6:52.

Going to space was always a risk,

but in the beginning of the Apollo Program, the United

States got a stark realization of just how dangerous its moon missions would be.

The Apollo Program almost ended before it even got off the ground.

In the mid 1960s, NASA was working at breakneck speed, attempting to take another step towards

President John F. Kennedy's goal to land a man on the moon by the end of the decade.

Apollo Program engineers were still focused on fulfilling the foundation for the project's

objectives: Establishing the technology to meet other national interests in space; Achieving

preeminence in space for the U.S.; Carrying out a program of scientific exploration of

the Moon; And developing man's capability to work in the lunar environment.

By 1966, NASA upgraded its first multistage rocket, the Saturn I, to the more powerful Saturn IB.

The top part of the rocket was where several major systems lived including the Apollo spacecraft

- known as the Command-Service Module or CSM.

The command module was considered the mother ship, with the goal of carrying the astronauts

to space and then returning them safely to Earth.

Inside were three compartments, including the sealed crew cabin, which only had about

six cubic meters of space.

With all the operational displays, crew couches and equipment, there was very little room

left over for the astronauts to maneuver.

A prototype version of the spacecraft, the Apollo Block I CSM, would be the first to

embark on a manned mission.

NASA set the launch date for February 21, 1967.

The purpose of the flight was to test launch operations, ground tracking and control facilities,

and the performance of the Saturn IB rocket and the CSM spacecraft.

NASA selected two veterans and one rookie as the crew for the mission that was later

dubbed Apollo 1.

The command pilot, Gus Grissom, was no stranger to the stress of space flight.

Grissom was one of the original Mercury pilots, and during the splashdown of his first mission,

the capsule's hatch blew open, causing him to nearly drown.

The senior pilot was Ed White who was the first American to conduct a space walk during

Project Gemini.

And the pilot was Roger Chaffee who at 31 would be the

youngest American ever to go to space.

He was added the crew as a replacement after the original pilot

dislocated his shoulder during training.

Chaffee was known as a notoriously nice guy who was often teased by other astronauts for

his admiration of Grissom and White.

He saw the Apollo 1 mission as a way to prove himself worthy of the title of astronaut.

Early on in their training, Grissom and the rest of the crew voiced concerns with the

spacecraft - primarily with the amount of flammable material in the cabin.

The astronauts jokingly presented this crew portrait to the Apollo Spacecraft Program

Office manager after he gave the spacecraft a passing grade.

But the thing is, the astronauts weren't alone in their concerns.

In fact, some experts believed the immense pressure of Kennedy's deadline forced NASA

and the contractor, North American Aviation, to make decisions that sacrificed safety.

One of the main concerns was NASA's decision to opt for a single gas environment inside

the capsule over a dual gas environment because it required a lighter system.

This meant that the Apollo spacecraft would use 100% oxygen in the crew cabin, so even

a small spark could quickly turn into a blaze.

Adding to that fear, other astronauts reported seeing what appeared to be frayed wires and

short circuits in the cabin of the spacecraft.

There were also issues with the decision to have the hatch open inward and the fact that

it did not carry explosive bolts in case of an emergency.

NASA and North American Aviation made as many adjustments as possible.

But in the interest of time, they decided to move forward with the February flight.

One month before launch, the rocket and spacecraft were cleared for what was referred to as a "plugs out test".

At 1pm on January 27th, the Apollo 1 astronauts entered the command module, sealed the hatch

and prepared for what was considered a sort of dress rehearsal for the actual flight.

There were problems from the start.

First, there was a foul odor emanating from the oxygen tank;

and then there was an alarm triggered, indicating a high oxygen flow;

To the frustration of the crew, static continually drowned communication with the control room.

At 6:31pm the test conductors were ready to start the countdown... seconds later horror struck.

A flash fire ripped through the spacecraft.

The emergency escape procedure called for a minimum of 90 seconds, but it only took

about 30 seconds for flames and toxic smoke to engulf the crew cabin.

Despite heroic efforts by NASA ground crews and controllers, it took a full five minutes

to open the hatch.

The deaths of Grissom, White and Chaffee were a shocking wake up call that caused many to

question President Kennedy's deadline to put a man on the moon.

All the progress NASA had made was blinded by tragedy.

The investigation of the Apollo 1 fire forced a hold on the space program.

The hard lessons learned from this mission would dictate new stringent checks and balances

that would inform all NASA missions to follow, ultimately changing the nation's path to the moon.

There's a lot of history that led up to this point, so if you want to learn more about

the start of the space race and NASA's first missions, check out this video.

And make sure you subscribe to Seeker to follow the entire Apollo series.

The secret behind Indonesia's undying love of Badminton | Land of Legends - Duration: 26:47.

Before the Olympics, I have won several tournaments

such as the All-England and World Cup.

(SUSI SUSANTI, BARCELONA 1992 WOMEN'S SINGLES GOLD)

But the Olympics was the biggest event.

And Indonesia hasn't gotten any gold medal before.

After I got the first Olympic gold medal for Indonesia,

everything changed. I could really feel it.

(SUSI SUSANTI INA)

It's not just about the achievement,

but people became more aware of Indonesia.

This picture was taken when I got the first Olympic medal.

I was so emotional, I was crying in that photo.

It was taken when our national flag was raised

and our national anthem sung.

And for me, this is my highest achievement.

It was the first gold medal, not just for Indonesia,

but also for badminton in the Olympics itself.

(SUSIE'S THEN-FIANCE GAVE INDONESIA GOLD NUMBER TWO IN THE MEN'S SINGLES)

It was the biggest moment for me.

Like a dream, actually.

We had a huge celebration and they set up a parade

(ALAN BUDIKUSUMA BARCELONA 1992 MEN'S SINGLES GOLD)

for the whole of Jakarta.

So that's the atmosphere, it was so amazing, you know.

So I was shocked at this.

My victory in the Olympics brought about

a very positive influence on Indonesians,

especially on children,

who were all very enthusiastic about playing badminton.

And I was very happy about that

because my victory enhanced the popularity of badminton

perhaps not only in Indonesia but also other countries.

For me, that was a source of great pride

because I grew up with badminton.

So when I was able to attain a great achievement in badminton,

I did not only bring about a positive influence on badminton

in Indonesia, but all around the world.

Badminton is my hobby and then my passion.

That's why even after I retired from badminton,

I still keep practising, though not every day

to keep my stamina and to make sure my body is still OK.

I want to share my experience and my knowledge too.

I'm not directly coaching the players, but indirectly,

I make the "weapon".

The "weapon" is so important to the players.

We create these ourselves for the players,

for doubles players, for singles players,

for powerful players, for not-so-powerful players.

We try to figure out this.

We also make a tournament.

The purpose of this tournament

is to give back to my association

because they trained me and helped me to become

one of the best players in the world.

That's why I want to give opportunities

to the young players.

Today's athlete faces more distractions.

The competition is tighter,

since badminton has become an Olympic sport.

Every country is competing

to make their athletes more famous.

Now Badminton is not dominated by China and Indonesia any more

but you can see other countries

like Spain now suddenly coming up with good players.

Even now Russia, of course Japan and Korea.

The one who is more prepared,

more focused and more disciplined,

will be the Olympic champion.

The distractions are not limited to the mobile phone

and movies.

Discipline and hard work are

what they need the most right now.

Badminton is my profession,

and most of my life is tied to badminton.

Because without badminton, I am nobody. Through badminton,

I've become the Susi Susanti people know today.

Badminton is Indonesia's most famous sport after soccer.

This gives us pride, and becomes our people's sport.

(CHRISTIAN HADINATA INDUCTED INTO THE WORLD BADMINTON)

(IN BADMINTON HISTORY)

To be honest, I only followed the badminton news

(CHRISTIAN HADINATA MEN'S AND MIXED DOUBLES LEGEND NATIONAL

from newspapers, because it was limited at that time.

I read how my seniors like Tan Joe Hok, Ferry Sonneville,

Lie Po Djian, Eddy Yusuf and many others

achieved the best in overseas tournaments

such as the All-England and Thomas Cup.

I was inspired by them, by how Indonesian badminton players

could compete internationally.

That was how I started to pursue my badminton career.

Their achievements also inspired a lot of

Indonesians in general.

It has become our motivation that Indonesian badminton

athletes can bring pride to our country.

The Thomas Cup is a team event, so it describes the actual

badminton strength of each country.

Which country wins the Thomas Cup is acknowledged

to have the best foundation,

because the tournament involves

teams of three men's singles players

and two doubles pairs.

Back in those days, the men's singles was

the most prestigious.

Therefore, I hoped to make the men's doubles sector

as prestigious as the men's singles.

I was playing men's doubles and mixed doubles.

But I also had to continue observing,

scouting talent for the men's doubles for players

who could become great champions

and raise the profile of the men's doubles sector.

Partners who are united have a flow in their movements.

There is Yin and Yang.

The one that's Yin is more calm and cool,

the other may be more emotional and hot-tempered.

This is important on the court.

The one with the calm and cool character can handle the moment

when they are lagging behind.

On the flip side,

the one with more of a temper can inspire emotion

and motivation.

There's no secret.

We only observe and understand the character

of each individual to be integrated.

The most important thing is their playing styles,

how we can unite the different characters

to create a formidable force.

Rexy and I were paired for the first time in 1991

when my coaches Christian Hadinata and Atik Jauhari

made that decision.

Before I paired up with Rexy, I was playing with his brother,

Richard Mainaky.

Richard and I were chasing points

for the 1992 Barcelona Olympics.

The focus was on reaching the Olympics.

The coach told me he was breaking up our partnership.

It meant all our points were automatically gone

Initially, I refused.

I wanted to play at Barcelona in 1992.

The coach said, "Don't look at '92 Barcelona,

but look ahead to '96 Atlanta."

The coaches at the time were Christian Hadinata

and Atik Jauhari, and that was their plan.

(DESPITE HIS RESISTANCE, THEY WERE PAIRED UP.)

Almost immediately, our new team began showing results.

We became champions.

(IT WAS A PLAN THAT WORKED.)

We won the Indonesia Open, Japan Open, Korea Open,

All-England, World Championship,

Thomas Cup and Asian Games.

Rexy and I were ranked number one in the world at the time.

As we got closer to reaching the '96 Atlanta Olympics,

I kept telling Rexy whenever we won a major tournament

such as the All-England,

that I wished this were the Olympics.

We were afraid to miss the chance and the moment

to win the Olympic gold.

With the various events I've ever competed in my career,

every achievement that I've ever had becomes complete

with the Olympic gold medal.

It had not been a fight for one or two months,

one or two years.

This was quite a long process to finally reach

the highest peak that I could ever achieve.

It was achieved with the greatest sense of satisfaction

and gratitude.

Most importantly, I got to see our national flag raised

and our national anthem sung at the Atlanta Olympics.

There are 10 national circuit events.

There is also another tournament

where they can earn points for national ranking.

All athletes who participate will have a national ranking,

and if they qualify, they will play at national championships.

The national championship winner from five sectors

will join the national training camp.

The club or club athletes competing in the national

championship circuits would be ranked on their performance,

and then their results in the national championships.

They're not only playing to show their techniques,

but also their physique and stamina.

There are several criteria that need to be fulfilled

if they want to join the national team.

From this long process,

that is how they join the national training camp,

and we consider that they are the best.

The first kind of club is focused on achievements,

which means the club focuses on

grooming athletes for excellence.

On the other hand, there are clubs that focus on

coaching the basics and promoting badminton.

For clubs focusing on achievement,

talent scouting is very important.

Our national and international players are coming from

these clubs.

National players like Hendra, Ahsan, Tontonwi

and Liliyana come from badminton clubs.

If the coaching and development at the club is good,

I think the achievements in the national and international

arenas will be good too.

Our own club (PB Djarum) will take players

under 13-15 years old.

In my opinion, coaching them to become champions

and good players takes approximately 3-5 years.

Jaya Raya Club, my first club,

conducts training three times a week.

Then we continue to train more if there is a need.

It was like a school for badminton.

They will have auditions for 10-year-olds - that's when

we get more achievements through competitions.

If we get the achievements, we get directly

into the dormitory of Jaya Raya.

We have to have achievements first

as kids, and the talent as well.

They look out for that.

I was qualified for the national team in 2003

at the age of 15.

I had to be number one in the national competition.

I had to work hard to achieve the best

that I can in that area first

before I could enter the national team.

It was quite hard for me as a teenager.

My family background wasn't that rich.

Badminton could bring us to the next level

so I just try, you know, to make it better for life.

To make more money is a secondary thought for me

For me, my first priority is always the achievement.

Whenever we get the number one, of course,

we will get the bonus and money,

but I just keep focusing on my goals, like my achievements

on what I have to do, what I have to reach.

I really love badminton, I really love this game.

I just want to enjoy every training session,

to work hard, as hard as I can.

I want to give the best that I can for this country.

and also, we have our tradition.

There is an era when kids are playing badminton

like they are flying kites.

They play it on the streets, on open court, in their backyard.

They are playing badminton everywhere.

It's because we have so many role models, and everyone

도티, 아시아 크리에이터 대표로 유튜브 총괄을 만나다 - Duration: 22:32.

We are at a street near Hongik University, an area known for being the most trendy and young in Seoul.

Today, we are going to have an interview with a special person in this special place.

It's Gautam Anand! Anand, please introduce yourself.

I'm Gautam, and I lead the YouTube business here in Asia

Is there any reason that you chose this area to hold the event?

So, Hongdae is known for one of Korea's best universities for the arts.

There's a lot of young people and very strong creative energy.

And we're holding our second annual Creator Summit right here in Korea

and we thought the neighborhood really matches what YouTube stands for and what our Creators stand for.

As far as I remember, the last Creator Summit was held in Australia.

What is the primary focus of the YouTube Creator Summit 2018 in Korea?

Korea has always been an extremely important market for us—

We're so happy with the growth that we're seeing of Korean Creators.

Really, the Creator Summit is about us creating a community and getting our Creators together so that they can form a community

And I think that it's important for us to take them to different parts of Asia

so they can interact with creators from those countries.

Then, let's move on to the event hall to take a look at the Summit in detail.

Let's go!

Wow, it looks really nice.

That's how Creator Summit is

For creators who have traveled from all across Asia for the event,

a schedule is provided in multiple languages.

Now, there are souvenirs over there.

These are very special goods. And they are only available at this event.

I think much time and effort has been put in to preparing such a diverse event.

Yes, how was it?

Yes, it's taken us months to prepare for this.

It was really important for us to get it right.

We've got 80 of our top Creators from across the region here with us for this week

It was really important to us to make them comfortable

After this I want to show you one more place, so let's go there now

Ok, let's go

So we are at a rooftop bar where creators can network with one another and engage in various activities.

What stands out is all these details. Here's a YouTube mark.

YouTube just rented the whole hotel.

Oh, here comes our beverages.

Now, let's say "cheers" as we do when drinking in Korea.

Cheers!

Now, we are in the best room of the hotel, where the Creator Summit 2018 in Asia is being held.

This is where not just anybody can come in.

Here in this special room, we are going to talk about YouTube and its creator ecosystem in more detail.

So, Gautam. Please introduce yourself.

My name is Gautam and I lead the YouTube business here in Asia.

I've been at Google for over 13 years

And I got involved with YouTube pretty much right after the acquisition in October 2006

My first job was to figure out where to launch YouTube internationally

And in 2009 I moved to Singapore to really focus on building our operation here in the region.

First, please tell us about what you think is the most important in doing business in Asia,

and how you expect YouTube to develop in Asia going forward.

So, it's an exciting time for YouTube and for the region.

Globally today we have 1.9 billion logged-in users

they're are coming to our site and consuming over a billion hours of content every day

And a lot of that viewership is coming from right here in Asia

In fact, APAC is the fastest growing region for us globally

And 5 out of our top 10 markets for viewership are right here in this region.

The fact is that 40% of the world's population is right here in Asia

And we're really excited about all the new users who are coming online for the first time.

If you look at the improvements in access, and the cost of data coming down

That's leading to explosive growth for us across India and Southeast Asia.

We want to make sure we're building products that are suitable for markets which have such data constraints

Taking YouTube Go as an example,

This was a product that engineers who came to markets like India and Indonesia and really looked at what users wanted

and what products would work in data-constrained environments.

It was a product that was really built for users— taking those users in mind

And now it's available in over 145 different markets.

We continue to be focused on building and helping our Creator ecosystem

So programs like FanFest that started 5 years ago are now available in 10 different countries

We've taken the concept of our Spaces and created something called Pop-Up Spaces,

Which is now available in 8 different markets here in Asia

We want to be transparent and we want to communicate a lot more with our creators

We're focused on creating better policies and also on enforcement of those policies

And we're excited about bringing our YouTube Premium and our new YouTube Music into more markets in Asia

And that includes more investments in YouTube Originals

We've have really great success with Originals here in Korea

With programming that we've done with BTS and Big Bang

And we're also creating Originals in Japan,

and we hope to bring all of those products to more markets across the region.

I, personally, often look for content in the Trending Tab.

As a creator, I've always wondered how the Trending Tab selects its content.

It looks like the tab just chooses content that gets the most viewership in a short period of time after being released,

but at the same time, gaming videos seemed to be hard to find within the tab.

Is there a special algorithm for the Trending Tab?

We know that Creators care a lot about the Trending tab

but the reality is that it actually drives very little viewership.

The Trending tab is really meant to showcase videos that are broadly appealing

It's not really about videos that have the most views, but about what's broadly appealing to a general audience.

Think about your parents or grandparents or someone coming to YouTube for the first time.

It's really meant to showcase content that may be interesting to them.

When it comes to gaming, gaming usually has very passionate niche audiences that care about gaming content.

And the reality is that when it comes to gaming viewership, it's never been stronger than it is today on YouTube.

I would say that YouTube is probably one of the largest platforms globally for gaming content today.

Now, I'd like to ask you about live content.

Personally, I think YouTube's live content are not shown enough in search results

and less discovered by users than ordinary content.

This makes it difficult for creators who mainly present live content to be recognized or raise awareness on the platform.

Does YouTube have any plans to resolve this issue?

We can also support Live at significant scale.

Recently, El Rubius live streamed Fortnite on YouTube and it had 1.1 million concurrent users.

Last month, we live streamed Fuji Rock Festival.

That was watched by over 12 million people worldwide

So we're also operating at significant scale

The other part of your question was around the discovery of live content.

The reality is with 400 hours of content being uploaded to YouTube every minute, and a lot of live content as well

That's a tough problem, but we're always working hard to figure out how to solve it.

The discovery of live works very similarly to the discovery of VOD content

So it shows up on Search, on Watch Next, on Recommended, and on the home page as well.

It's an effort for us to try to make sure to put the right content in front of the right users at the right time.

If you live stream on YouTube, you can use special chat functions or Super Chat for your sponsors, unlike other VOD content.

Are there any other special functions for live content that YouTube plans to introduce?

So, our history with Live goes back to 2010, when we did the live streaming for the Indian Premier league,

which is a very popular cricket tournament, to a worldwide audience.

Since then we've continued to try to improve the live experience on YouTube.

Today we're actually supporting Live at a pretty large scale

and so we've actually got a great live product and we are adding new features to it.

Super Chat works great, and helps monetize live streams

and the new product that we're really excited about is Premieres.

Premieres allows you to create a VOD video and pre-schedule it for release at a specific time

and it allows your fans to come to YouTube at that time

and interact with each other and with you while they enjoy the content together

Imagine your viewers and you sitting in the same theater, enjoying the same content at the same time

Some of the new features we've added to Live are live automatic captions, live chat replay,

and we made it really easy for Creators to go live at the touch of a button.

either on their PC or mobile device.

Now, let me move on to the issue of copyright and monetization.

Some creators say that their original videos or the creators themselves

are getting a yellow card, causing a problem in monetization.

Why is this happening?

So we've published our advertiser friendly guidelines in the Help Center to help people determine

what content can or cannot be monetized

We aren't telling Creators what content they should be creating

In fact, we value the authenticity that Creators bring to our platform

and the Community Guidelines haven't changed either.

But at the same time, advertisers also have a choice about where their ads should show up.

And they do care about brand safety and brand suitability

So as a Creator, when you're thinking about creating content,

you have to think about that trade-off—about the content that you're creating.

And really put on the advertiser's hat and think about whether or not they'd be comfortable advertising on that content.

We've also recently launched something called video self-certification

which allows Creators to tell us what's in their video

And that's going to help us also determine monetization status for those videos and improve our decisions.

Besides gaming content, a variety of content is being made by new creators.

I think this job needs to be developed into a more stable one

to encourage creators to continuously produce content and appeal to them as a serious profession.

Does YouTube have a plan for a new monetization model for creators

except for the current advertisements, Super Chat, and sponsorship?

YouTube allows Creators to connect with fans globally

and earn a living from what they're passionate about

We've created an entirely new global economy based upon that.

The fact is, even today, the majority of the revenue for Creators comes from advertising.

And when we look at ad revenues that our Creators are earning,

we've seen 50% growth in Creators that are earning more than 5 figures, year over year.

and 40% growth in Creators earning over 6 figures, year over year.

We also realize that there are additional ways in which Creators could monetize their presence on YouTube

And so we're excited about alternative monetization products like SuperChat,

and are looking to expand that to offerings such as Channel Memberships, Ticketing, and Merchandising

And we're working hard to bring those products to more and more countries on an ongoing basis.

Now, I'd like to ask you the last question about

creators, the creator community, and the improved image of YouTube and its development.

This Creator Summit is for top creators,

but does YouTube have a plan to hold other events for new and smaller creators?

So, the Youtube community, the program you mentioned was something started in 2015

focused both on off-line and online events

We're always trying to evaluate how to best support our Creators.

And today we have various programs that allow us to do that

Take for example, YouTube Fanfest Which was

something born here in Asia 5 years ago in Singapore that has now expanded to over 10 markets.

We've got YouTube Spaces both in Tokyo and Mumbai, India

And we've taken that concept and created something called Pop-Up Spaces

and we've brought those to 8 different countries across Asia.

Programs like Pop-Up Spaces and Next Up really allow us to help upscale our Creators

And in addition to that we do a lot of Creator educational workshops as part of these events

We do a lot of Creator educational workshops in general to help build the Creator community

And on top of that, we've got a lot of online resources.

Recently we've created social handles both in Japan and India to help interact more with our Creators

We're putting a lot of information in the Creator Studio dashboard

We're putting a lot of news and relevant information for Creators because that's where they spend a lot of time

So, the effort to make sure that we're educating

our Creators, up-leveling our Creators, and building the community is an ongoing effort for us

and we have a lot of different programs that we continue to evaluate and expand to different markets

And all of these efforts are actually proving to be very fruitful.

If you Think about FanFest as an event

I think the first one we did in Korea was 4 or 5 years ago.

And I think a lot of the talent we had on stage was not local talent.

And if I now go to the FanFests we're having in a lot of our local markets,

the reality is that what you see is a lot of local Creators on stage.

I think that proves that a lot of the effort that we've made in building the Creator community here across Asia,

is really showing some amazing results.

With YouTube growing to have more influence,

it seems there are some side effects.

For example, trending videos can sometimes be problematic.

Fake news, provocative content, or anti-social videos against public interest

are oftentimes included in the Trending Tab

This raises concerns about the YouTube environment being increasingly contaminated.

Does YouTube have a solution to this?

Our recommendations engine was really meant to address most of our use cases on the main app.

and when it comes to content like news, we don't always necessarily get it right.

but news and authoritative news is something extremely important to us

we're working hard to make sure that we address that issue.

So, one of the products that we've recently launched is the Breaking News shelf.

So if there's an event that's important for a particular market,

then on the Homepage you'll have it on the Breaking News shelf.

which contains only authoritative news sources

which are pre-approved by the Google News team

This is an area that we care a lot about and we want to make sure that

we're taking those authoritative news sources putting them in front of more of our users

I completely agree that there are certain categories of content that we don't think belong on YouTube

So, extremism-related content, content that endangers children, content that incites violence, pornography...

we've invested a lot of resources, both on the technology and human resources sides

to make sure that content doesn' t stay on YouTube and show up there

We released a transparency report that showed that

in Q4 of 2017 we deleted 8 million videos

using machine learning and the teams that we've built as part of our trust & safety organization

Okay, this is my last question.

Now a creator is being recognized as a serious profession.

And many creators are making efforts with a sense of responsibility to have a positive influence on society.

I'd like to ask you whether YouTube has any plans to work together with creators to promote the public good?

We completely acknowledge that Creators have tremendous influence and connection with their fans

and in a lot of instances they use that to drive positive change

and are very passionate about certain causes that they want to support

So we've got a program called Creators for Change that we're very excited about

and we've got several Creators from Asia participating in that

We also think that there's opportunity for us to create products

that will allow Creators to be able to raise funds for cause that they support

That's something that we're taking very seriously and hopefully we'll be able to bring it to life soon

Now, we've had Gautam Anand with us today, who is responsible for YouTube partnerships across Asia Pacific.

I hope this was helpful for all our creators and related parties.

Thank you so much.

Thank you for having me. I do have something for you as a gift to show our appreciation.

Let me check.

Uhm, what is this? It looks like a watch.

It looks like a special watch, and I'll definitely try this on at home.

And here's also a postcard. Did you write it yourself?

It reads 'To Dotty' and I can't actually read it right now, but I'll take it home and decipher it.

There's a saying 'You scratch my back and I'll scratch yours.' So we have prepared a gift for you.

These 'Dotty' character products, made possible thanks to YouTube, are for you, Gautam Anand.

Yes, this is a Dotty doll. Yes, it's me.

My seven year old will love this. This is great.

And these are clothes. You can wear them as pajamas,

and this is a cup.

You can use it when drinking coffee or green tea.

So thanks to being a YouTube creator, I've had a chance to make various goods

and communicate with a number of people.

I hope that YouTube develops into a much better ecosystem

so that more creators and related parties can happily create content in a happy world.

Thank you so much.

This is great, he really knows how to promote himself. Subscribe to his channel!

It's also in relation to...

What I felt regarding

this issue of metamorphosis,

is that's also has to do with conformity,

with all that's taken for granted...

Often society reduces us to those only!

Whereas this conformity,

this norm

is "a priori":

It's the societal unthought-of.

So, I think there's something to resist,

regarding these expectations from society.

Symbols, allegories and allusions - high school media assignment - Duration: 2:57.

Hi!

What's the meaning behind the picture?

Why am I standning in a bathrobe?

To understand that media expressions are more than we see on the outside,

we need to watch out for symbols, know what they mean and analyse what deeper message they add.

For instance, how does this picture change if I do this? ;

Or this;

Symbols can also of course be stuff like a heart, which people connect to love.

And colours can of course symbolise a lot!

Allegories are several symbols that make up a story.

Those stories does always have a literary and a figurative meaning.

This means, the literary meaning becomes a metaphor for the figurative (the real) meaning.

The X-Men series can for instance be an allegory to minorities, LGBTQ and youth.

And E.T. can be an allegory to Jesus life.

An allusion is a media expression based off another media historical expression.

The allusion becomes a quote to the media historical expression.

It can for example be a parody, or just that you've taken much inspiration from another work.

Johnny English, Austin Powers, and of course Trond Bond

are parodies of James Bond.

And you've got other allusions that can be more hidden.

For instance in many renown music videos you've got a lot of signs and symbols,

and there's a lot of conspiracy theories on it.

Let's say the song "God is a woman" by Ariana Grande.

Aprox. in the middle of the song she makes a pause and says this:

It can't be a coincidence she says "thee".

Most of those that read the English Bible uses the KJV, which is using an older version of English.

Therefor you can see that they took inspiration from the Bible on that one.

Other examples can be Cable and Deadpool in the places of God and Adam, from Michelangelo's artwork.

And this is of course also used in the "God is a woman" music video.

Many thanks for watching! I hope you learnt something.

See you later maybe! Bye!
