DESPITE ALL THE OBSTACLES
Hey guys, welcome to next video from Athens. For those of you who have not seen the first one
you can find it in cards on your right :-)
And today we are about to see a lot of amazing places - National Gardens, Temple of Zeus, Piraeus, Lycabettus...
On Lycabettus we will see the sunset. Lycabettus has 277 meters over the sea. Well i didnt know that, nice
We are starting this day by going to Egaleo which is border part of Athens
I used to live there one year ago and there is the best suvlaki in whole city (in my opinion)
So we are going to have one of the bests souvlaki (pita) i have ever tasted
Verča: Cheese pita :D.. Me: yeah, Cheese pita :D
And i am so much hungry, looking forward to eat to guys so we are about to move there now
You can get here by blue metro, number 3. Direction to Aghia Marina, station EGALEO
And when you leave the metro, i will show you in a few seconds
You will get to square of this part of city. This is square of Egaleo. There you can see the church
and that restaurant is right there behind the corner
I wonder if the waitress would remember me :D i used to go there really often, especially when i was drunk :D
I think they will Ondra...
Lets find out :D
It is good. It looked to be closed but it is not, thanks god :D

So lets eat a lot now. And i used to live up here, just up to this restaurant.
For 3,5 euros you have this giant
and it is really the best pita here guys
Super, i think i will eat it all :D
Thats also a big... Verča: yeah, but pita is better...Me: nothing can compare to pita! :D
So guys we finished food. It is like in Venice here, a lot of pigeons
We moved to National Gardens close to Syntagma
which is the green place, complex here in Athens between the Parlament and Temple of Zeus
and we will go right throught gardens to Temple of Zeus so, enjoy it with us guys :-)
So guys we are next to Temple of Zeus, thats third time here with Verča, and third time is closed..
But there is not much to see so we will find some nice places behind the fence and show you :-)
So we moved to Evangelismos
If you want to go to Lycabettus Hill, you can leave here in Evangelismos
Lycabettus if my favorite place here in Athens
You will leave with left exit Vas. Sofias...
And now, just way up :D
Get ready your muscles guys :D
Yeah it is hard, i almost did not make the first time i climbed it :D
But we will make it! Ok, when you leave the metro, turn right and go straight and turn right again on the second crossroad
So we are slowly getting up
Ondra is in condition now from fitness :D
He will be there in one minute :D
How do you feel Ondra?
It will be worst..
Ondra was there a couple of times, i am going to be there just for the third time, i deserve it more!:D
BTW guys here under to Lycabettus - this part is part of rich greek people. More up, more rich around all Lycabettus
So first stop on the way up guys
I want to show you something guys
This is amazing, far away there you can see the sea
Olympic stadium, there where is nothing to see because of the sun is Acropolis :D
And these big, well, not big but a lot of trees are National Gardens
And we keep going up!
We are almost there guys, here i just want to show you a few more places
So there, National Gardens, just behind it (the squared building) that is Greek parlament (Syntagma)
There is rod from Syntagma to Panepitisimio, where the city library is located
And int his street police beat me when i took part in demonstration :D
And far away - Acropolis and sea
And we are almost on the top of Lycabettus
So guys we got Friday here
which is our last day here. Tomorrow we are going back home
So we have seen the most important places in Athens but today we will show you next interesting places
suchs as Piraeus which is one of the biggest ports in Europe
And Greece has the biggest Navy in Europe
This port is the second or the third biggest in Europe
It is not nice much, but still we will go there :D
We are waiting for the green metro which is the oldest line in Athens, really bad but we will survive it :D
The way there will take us 40 minutes, than 1 hour to beach and 1 hour back to Syntagma
The beach is not nice, but during the summer it is enough i think
Now, nobody is there but still we want to show you. So today, these two places. It will take us all the day.
But it is still interesting so we hope you will also enjoy it. So lets go to Piraeus, if we see something interesting
we will show you definitely. Some interesting people :D
Guys we are getting closer to Piraeus which is the last station of green metro
And next station is Falliro which is interesteing point here because there you can find stadium of Olympiakos
which is one of bests greek football clubs
Last year they played champions league and FC Bayern played against them and after that also FC Arsenal
which is my favorite club. That match was really important because winner went up in that league
and i had opportunity to see this match for 20 euros but i screwed it and missed it so every time i go
next to this stadium i just wanna cry a lot :D
Arsenal won 3 - 1....
But it was really amazing athmosphere here. So i will show you the stadium from metro
So we reached Piraeus
BTW they have got really nice station here, i like it very much, so just in short shot to show you
It is last station of green metro
And we will go to check out the port and show you
So we are entering the port guys, you can see ships right from the beginning
Ships goes to every Greek island from here, i am not sure how it is with cruises to abroad but it should go there also
but here you can find maybe 15 docks
To Mykonos island it costs app. 30 euro if i remember it well
So we are currently next to dock number 8 and behind me you can buy tickets. I bought here ticket to Aegina island
which is the closest island to Athens and i paid 10 euro for one way
So the prices are OK - dock number 8
And this port is more industrial
for big ships - the small private ships and ports are located more to the south
next to Athen's coast (beaches). Piraeus is north-west
And it is not much pretty right because it is industrial port and thats why it belongs to biggest in Europe
the small port in Tropea was much better :D.. 20 people daily there..here? 2000 refugees :D
You are right.. Verča: i would be really scared here
So we are moving from Piraeus to south coast of Athens to Athen's beach and i just want to tell you something
about city transport here
Athens have integrated city transport which means that you can use every type of transport for one ticket
The best and most used is Metro
And they have three lines of Tram. The first one goes from Syntagma to the north-west coast
The second one from Syntagma to south coast and the last one from north-west to the south
And we are going from Piraeus (north-west) with tram to south to the beach
When you go back with metro one station back from Piraeus to Faliro, there you can take a Tram. It starts there
So guys we are here :)
We are in Athen's beach
If you are in Athens and want swim or get some sun just here in the city, the best choice is to go by tram here
The station is Batis - and app. 1 km to each way you can find acceptable beaches
Hah, some guy is exercising there
So 1 km to south, 1 km to north - you can find good beaches
And you can exercise here, there is podium so during the summer some events are being here
or the airshow, one year ago on Erasmus i made video of the Airshow just from this beach
You can swim here, of course the water is dirty here, beach is also dirty - it is beach of big city
but in summer it is acceptable
Better beaches are located more to the south, transport also goes there but it is more complicated to get there
But it is nice here
just not clear

So guys we moved down the cost a littlbe bit and here you can see the small private ports with nice ships
Piraeus is industrial and these are private
which is much nicer
Small nice ships :-)
And this one is just amazing - it has imitation of canons, historical... outstanding

So last view on Monastiraki during the night. There you can see Acropolis if it is viewable on camera
it has magic in the night guys
