Youtube daily report Aug 28 2017

It's now been 5 months since I left the United States to become a Peace Crops volunteer

in Guatemala, and 3 months since I moved to my permanent site in the mountains of Quetzaltenango.

As I'm getting ready to start my own projects, I'd like to take a look back at the work

I've done thus far…

In my community, malnutrition is the highest priority, so when I arrived I was made part

our health district's nutrition team- something that I was hoping to focus on during my service

before coming to Guatemala.

My main work partner is a professional nutritionist, who oversees all the outreach and programming

for nutrition at the health center.

I'm grateful to have a great work partner who makes it a point to include me in as many

activities as she can.

During my first few months in site, the primary purpose has been to observe, learn, and develop

the relationships I need in order to begin facilitating my own projects.

Additionally, during these months I have been conducting a Health District Diagnostic as

part of my responsibilities to the Peace Corps.

I write detailed notes about my observations, conduct surveys, and attend a variety of municipal

meetings around health to help me understand the key problems, actors, and resources my

community has to muster.

The diagnostic has helped me to understand the needs of my community, and to guide my

planning for projects.

During these first few months, I've observed a variety of health talks- called "charlas"

in Spanish- which our health center conducts.

Eventually I will be helping to co-facilitate these health talks, as well as train the health

staff to make their charlas more interactive, but mostly I've just been an observer thus

far.

These charlas are usually hosted at our health center.

We have one group of mothers with malnourished children who we do cooking demonstrations

with every month, showing them cheap, easy, and nutritious meals they can make with local

ingredients.

We focus on showing women how to incorporate nutritional supplements into these foods to

ensure that their children are getting all the vitamins and minerals they need to avoid

chronic malnutrition.

The kids also really seem to enjoy the foods that we make for them!

Sometimes we will also give charlas at schools at which we are distributing vitamins too.

While most of these children are over the age of 5, we are helping to instill the knowledge

that they will need later in life to keep themselves and their families healthy.

I have to say though that the favorite part of my first few months of work has been going

out into the surrounding communities to do house visits.

Getting to these communities isn't always easy- hiking through the forest or up and

down steep mountains is pretty much the norm.

Usually we are going to visit families who have malnourished children to weigh and measure

them, and to encourage the family to come to the health center or posts more regularly.

Sometimes though we will do in-home charlas or cooking demonstrations.

I love the opportunity to talk with the local people, and to get to see their strengths

and daily challenges up close and personal.

Though it can sometimes be uncomfortable for these families to welcome in a foreigner like

me, I've always been received with kindness and hospitality: I'm almost always offered

an atol (atole) or coffee and pan dulce (sweet bread).

Sometimes I also try to pitch in to the help the family with their daily chores… even

if I'm not so good at it and they just all laugh at me.

It's been a crazy few months, and my life is so radically different now than it was

back home.

But whenever I am down or homesick, it always makes me feel better when I think about the

work I am doing and my belief that what I am doing is going to make a difference.

There's a saying that the Peace Corps is the toughest job you'll ever love, and I

think that is something I can personally attest to now.

I've got 5 months down, less than 22 to go…

Arsenal accept Chelsea's bid for Liverpool target Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

Liverpool could be set to miss out on one of their reported summer transfer targets, with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain on the verge of joining Chelsea.

The 24-year-old has made it clear that he wants a move away from Arsenal, with just a year remaining on his contract at the Emirates.

News broke on Monday afternoon that a fee for the England international has now been agreed between Chelsea and Arsenal, with personal terms to be agreed. The report claims he is "expected to complete the switch across London before the transfer window shuts on Thursday night.

However, it remains to be seen whether Liverpool will now try and match Chelsea's bid, with the general consensus being that Oxlade-Chamberlain favours a move to Anfield – although, strong links with Monaco's Thomas Lemar may suggest the club has moved on from the Arsenal man.

The Englishman started for the Gunners in their embarrassing 4-0 loss to Liverpool on Sunday afternoon, being given a torrid time by Sadio Mane from his right wing-back role.

He has grown disillusioned with life at the Emirates, and his decision to leave is another indication that all is not well in north London.

Emre Can says win over Arsenal is "just the start" for Liverpool - Duration: 3:43.

Emre Can says win over Arsenal is "just the start" for Liverpool

Emre Can felt Liverpool's ruthless demolition of Arsenal on Sunday was as good as it gets – but is not getting carried away. Liverpool thrashed the Gunners 4-0 with an outstanding display of attacking football in their Premier League clash at Anfield.

The victory lifted the Reds to second in the table heading into the first international break of the season and, given the opposition, sent out a strong statement to the rest of the competition.

"It was a big, big performance," said midfielder Can. "I think everyone did great and I think you can't play much better. "Don't forget we were playing against Arsenal. When was the last time that Liverpool won against Arsenal 4-0? The performance was just great.

"Of course it gives us confidence and now we go into the internationals and everybody's happy. It's a good start now – but we have to keep working.

Our performance was good, but we need to keep it up. It's just the start.". Liverpool swept Arsenal aside with embarrassing ease. Were it not for a series of fine saves by Petr Cech, their win could have been even more emphatic.

Roberto Firmino headed them in front after 17 minutes and forward partner Sadio Mane added a superb second before the break.

Mohamed Salah – the third member of a formidable attacking trio – robbed Hector Bellerin to race away for a third before the hour and substitute Daniel Sturridge completed the rout.

Can himself played a key role, constantly driving the team forward along with fellow midfielders Jordan Henderson and Georginio Wijnaldum in the way manager Jurgen Klopp craves.

OPINION: Magnificent Emre Can shows why new Liverpool contract is essential. "He expects that from us midfield players and I tried to do it," Can, 23, said.

"Of course I can't do it every time but I tried to do it more often than last year. It's worked good so far.

"I think you could see on Wednesday we played a high tempo and here again. You can see that we worked very well in pre-season. Everybody feels good, everybody feels in good shape and that's very important.".

Liverpool's performance came without Philippe Coutinho, whose future remains the subject of speculation in light of continuing interst from Barceclona, and the injured Adam Lallana. Goalkeeper Simon Mignolet also sat out the game after Klopp took the surprising decision to rest him.

Can feels the squad as a whole is looking in great shape.

He said: "If you see the bench we are strong, we are deep. We are strong in the squad. Divock Origi was not in the squad and he's a great player, so you see just how strong the squad is.".

Why you Shouldn't Low Level Format Your Hard Drive | Nostalgia Nerd - Duration: 8:23.

Remember back in the DOS days when we used to Low Level Format our hard drives, just

because we could?

Oh, the fun we had.

Except, we weren't really low level formatting anything, because low level formatting your

hard drive will render it useless.

Let me explain.

It would be nice if setting up a hard disk was as simple as FORMAT C: /S

But, in the early days of IBM PC Compatibles, things weren't quite so simple.

As well as high level formatting for the OS and partition creation, we needed Low level

formatting, otherwise known as Physical formatting.

Now, the term "Low level format" has been whispered from ear to ear for many a decade,

and what we may call a low level format today, is quite different from what it was.

Since the days of IDE, we can partition a disk, create new file systems and even do

a "Zero-fill" where the disk contents is overwritten with zeros.

This can help weed out bad sectors and allow your hard drive to reallocate them from a

reserve stash, it also renders any previous data un-recoverable, but not so much, low

level formatting.

Indeed the full format we ask DOS or Windows to perform simply writes the file structure

to disk - the File Allocation Table for example - and checks the drive for bad sectors, although

since Windows Vista, this will also zero fill the disk.

A quick format simply blanks the index tables of the applicable file structure, and declares

the job done.

So in reality your data is all still present, but the operating system just ignores it.

But wind the clock back to the IBM XT systems, and we encounter a different ball game.

When first manufactured a drive only has cylinders and often tracks - no sectors.

So then the original meaning of "low level formatting" was a process whereby the sectors

are "drawn" onto each track using magnetism as the "ink".

Each sector was then filled with the lowercase sigma character and the interleave factor

is set.

This is essentially arranging the sectors in the most efficient configuration possible

based on the time between sequential data reads and where the head is on the disk when

it looks for the next piece of data.

This physical format process matches up a drive and it's controller.

As every controller has it's own quirks, a controller may not be able to read a disk

formatted by a different controller, and when the first 5.25 inch hard drive came out in

1980 it required a separate controller card.

Hence a low level format was a good idea to ensure the two were getting along smoothly.

This process could usually be completed using the Advanced Diagnostics disks on XT or AT

machines, and allowed you to set a user defined hard type type with the settings usually stored

in the drive's master boot record.

The process would typically ask you for the number of cylinders, head, the cylinder to

start reduced write current, the cylinder to start write pre-compensation, interleave

factor and the maximum number of error bits to correct.

It wasn't for the faint hearted.

You can also use the DOS debug command to trigger the low level format from the controller

BIOS or even use programs such as HDTEST or Gibson Research's SpinRite, which it self

contained the standard information for lots of hard drive models.

Early hard drives also sometimes had a few unreliable sectors from the go, which would

be noted on a sticker of the drive - these were of course, the quaint, hobby like days

of PC manufacture.

But this information was useful for the low level format, so they could be marked appropriately

as unusable, in case they weren't automatically picked up from the format.

As a loose example, entering the wrong settings on a low level format could mean for example

that a 10MB drive is formatted as a 20MB drive.

This might not be disastrous, but would perform slowly and perhaps be returned as a 20MB drive

with 10MB of bad sectors in diagnostic utilities.

Once all the settings are ready, the drive heads could then perform the low level format,

restoring the magnetic image of the sector IDs as it went.

These sector IDs separate one sector from the next, and especially with older disks,

it was possible for them to fade.

This is typically what could lead to the dreaded "Sector Not Found" errors in DOS.

The data might be fine, it's just that the drive heads can no longer sense the sector

boundaries.

So, you might wonder why we don't perform these low level formats with our current hard

drives, or even hard drives from the IDE period onwards...

Well, there is a good reason for that.

The first is because these disks are "mastered" if you will, using a high enough level of

magnetic energy, that the sector IDs stay intact for a longer period of time.

15 years at the least.

The second was, in the earlier days at least, due to cost & manufacturing.

Take the ST506 drive.

Holding 5MB of data when formatted with Modified Frequency Modulation encoding, it packed about

800 cylinders on a 5.25" platter.

Fast forward 10 years and we had 3.5 inch IDE drives packing 3,600 cylinders.

But with advancement comes cost.

The ST506 drive head had to be precise enough to low level format the drive accurately and

precisely, placing sector IDs exactly, however it was possible to build a cheaper mechanism

that can simply follow sector IDs without having to place them, and this is essentially

how these new fangled drives were built.

They were also mostly formatted with Run Length Limited encoding, which could store more,

but required higher precision when laying out the drive's sectors.

These drives were therefore physically formatted in the factory and had their own on board

controllers, hence eliminating the variance between the controller and the disk layout.

So when, in 1986, IDE (Integrated Drive Electronics) drives appeared, designed to be compatible

with older drives, and appearing the same to the operating system, people attempted

to low level format them, to keep them fully optimised and in check.

Unfortunately, this resulted in a horrific mess and lots of inoperable drives.

Drives then evolved to cope with this new human problem, with some just returning simple

"OK" messages to the low level format request, but actually doing nothing, and others going

a step further with a low level format actually erasing the data, a bit like the zeroing I

mentioned earlier, but leaving the sectors unaffected.

So, then, this is why you should never low level, or physically format your hard drive.

Because frankly, rather than maintaining it, it would ruin it.

Thankfully, since the 90s, drives won't allow you to low level format them, so really you've

got nothing to worry about.

But I still consider it a fascinating view back into the past, exploring the evolution

of our technology.

If you're not interested in that, then I guess well done for watching the video anyway.

Go and make yourself a tea.

Facts You NEED to Know About Tiffany and Ivanka Trump! - Duration: 10:43.

Here are facts you should know about tiffany and Ivanka trump!

9.

Early Childhood

Ivanka seems to be the obvious favorite as President Trump's favorite child.

You can probably tell by the crazy things he's said about her.

Whether he's a doting dad or he's just creepy as h*ll is up for debate.

But, any time she's mentioned, he showers her name with praise.

She's now even by his side for political decisions, as she's now offering her input

on different issues with her role as an official advisor to her dad.

Tiffany, however, is dubbed the "forgotten child" by the media because she didn't

really get scrutinized in the public eye until almost the end of Trump's campaign.

Tiffany grew up in California, with her mother Marla, far away from her father.

With the distance, it definitely played a role between Donald and Tiffany's relationship

growing up.

Tiffany is the only child Donald had with Marla Maples, which obviously made things

a little more complicated.

Because Tiffany and her mother lived in California, Tiffany literally grew up a continent away

from her father who was living in New York.

She didn't have access to him the way Ivanka and Ivanka's two brothers did—the three

of them lived with their mother only an elevator ride away in Trump Tower in Manhattan.

Ivanka grew up living in the limelight with her father, along with her brothers.

Ivanka probably had the upper hand in seeing much more of Donald than Tiffany.

Then again, some people may disagree with that assessment!

8.

Tiffany's "Snap Pack"

Ever heard of the "rich kids of Instagram"?

If not, look up rich kids of Instagram and you'll get a glimpse of Tiffany's friends

in her latest social circle.

These rich kids of Instagram are pretty much…...kids of rich people.

The nickname is self-explanatory right?

Tiffany's particular crew has been named the Snap Pack.

They party, travel, take pictures of their luxurious experiences and then post it on

instagram.

Tiffany's friends include plenty of celebrity kids partying it up and hanging out with her.

Tiffany has stayed out of the limelight from her family's fame until recently when she

started to start hang out with a bunch of these rich kids.

Even though she's hanging with the Snap Pack, the number of followers on her Instagram

account show that her sister and her dad are waaaaaaaay ahead in the Instagram fame game.

Tiffany has 835 thousand followers, which are far behind her sister's 3.7 million

followers and her father's 7 million followers.

7.

MJ at the Nutcracker

President Trump loved to surprise his kids with something big from time to time.

Supposedly it's one of the ways he gave back to his kids because he doesn't like

to just throw money at them.

So Papa Trump knew that Ivanka loved Michael Jackson, and he was able to get Michael Jackson

to attend Ivanka's performance in The Nutcracker.

Ivanka was accepted to attend the School of American Ballet when she was little.

Donald got MJ to attend just because he was living at the Trump Tower at the time.

Was it MJ being polite and he couldn't say no?

Or maybe he really did want to go because he did like classic performances such as The

Nutcracker.

As much as Ivanka loved MJ, it did create a bit of a situation for her.

Her classmates performing heard about MJ showing up.

Some of the older dancers got the idea of getting everyone to wear a single white glove

during the performance as a tribute to Michael.

However, when the instructors found out, they didn't like the idea at all and were furious

over the girls that started the idea.

Ivanka's instructors decided to let the girls go with the idea anyways, and it turned

out just fine, as Michael loved the tribute and the show.

6 - Ivanka and social Issues

Ivanka may just seem like a pretty face but she's an advocate for different causes.

She truly believes in supporting child care, and that definitely makes sense seeing as

she's a mother of 3 kids.

Earlier in 2017 she pushed hard for a 500 billion dollar child care plan.

That cost of $500 billion would have been over 10 years, according to the Tax Foundation.

Ivanka Trump also introduced her dad at the Republican national convention and made it

known that she believed that her dad was quote "color blind and gender neutral".

During the convention she argued that he would fight for women's issues.

Interestingly enough, the US is the only developed country that doesn't provide financial assistance

to new parents.

Whether you agree with it or not is another story, but if I had to guess, people around

the US would be on board with the money if a big child care deduction ever came to reality.

5 - Ivy Leagues

People wonder why Tiffany didn't show her face much during President Trump's 2016

Presidential campaign, but she actually had a very good reason.

Tiffany was actually busy following her father's footsteps at the University of Pennsylvania.

She double majored in sociology with a concentration in law and urban studies.

Tiffany graduated in 2016, then went on to show her face a little more and be a part

of President Trump's campaign.

With college in the rear view, Tiffany began to be a bit more of the political daughter

President Trump probably expected her to be.

Ivanka graduated from Upenn as well, although she started off her college career at Georgetown

University.

Members of Ivanka's class remembered her as polished, hardworking and nice.

She apparently wasn't particularly involved in Penn's social scene, but she was always

"nice and professional," and that there "wasn't a lot of fanfare" about her

being a Penn student.

4 - Almost a coffee date

Ivanka Trump is married to Jared Kushner, and they got married back in 2009.

However, a lot of people obviously still would pay a decent amount of money to go on a date

with her.

This is why there was a charity auction offering the winner a date with Ivanka.

Okay, the winner wouldn't get an actual REAL date with Ivanka.

They'd just be able to chat about whatever she wants over coffee.

She auctioned off a chance for a coffee date with her beginning at eight thousand dollars,

with the money benefitting her brother Eric's charity, The Eric Trump Foundation.

Eric dedicates himself and his foundation to helping terminally-ill children at St.

Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Ivanka was able to get almost sixty-eight thousand dollars at the auction.

However, the date was actually cancelled.

Some experts questioned whether or not the date was actually a safe idea.

The highest bid was actually from a Tex-Mex restaurant chain owner who apparently wanted

to push Ivanka to tell her father to not restrict immigration laws.

The date ended up being cancelled, even if it were an annual tradition for her brother's

charity auction.

The winning bidder would have been required to pass a criminal background check and be

approved by the Secret Service.

3 - Spoiled or nah?

Asking for a parent's credit card can be a little nerve wracking for anyone, even when

your dad is a billionaire.

When Tiffany was fifteen, she needed some extra cash to be able to be a normal teenager

trying to fit in with her friends.

A lot of her friends had access to their parents credit cards, as they were able to go and

buy whatever things whenever they wanted.

However, Tiffany didn't have access to her dad's credit card, and she decided to go

to Ivanka and ask for help.

She asked Ivanka how to go about asking her dad for a credit card because she needed a

bit of money to hang with her friends.

Donald Trump himself talks about his money all the time, but the Trump children, weren't

spoiled by endless trust funds.

Ivanka took it upon herself to talk to Papa Trump about it.

While Ivanka and her brothers Donald Jr and Eric didn't treat their dad as an ATM, they

did have the benefit of his generosity and they were given nice surprises from time to

time, since they lived close to him.

One example talked about earlier was Michael Jackson going to Ivanka's show.

Papa Trump decided to give Tiffany what she had asked for, giving her a quote, "small

allowance of $500 a month".

I don't know about you, but when I was fifteen, $500 would go a long way, but then again,

maybe things have changed.

Or maybe, just hanging with rich kids is expensive.

2 - Ivanka's First Business

Guess what Ivanka's first business was?

If you guessed real estate, congrats!

Thaaaaat……...wasn't it.

But, if you guessed a jewelry store, then you'd be right.

Ivanka's first stab in the entrepreneurial world was in the diamond business, when she

was negotiating with the owners of a diamond manufacturing business.

They were actually trying to get a real estate deal together when the opportunity for Ivanka

to partner with the owners of the diamond manufacturing business came up.

They were one of the largest vendors of loose diamonds in New York, and were looking to

take their business to a whole new level.

They got to talking about the new joint venture, and soon enough, Ivanka found herself immersed

in the process of designing of her first jewelry collection.

She opened her own jewelry boutique back in 2007.

As of October 2016, Ivanka's jewelry business has Trump Tower as its location of its flagship

boutique and its only dedicated retail shop.

Her jewelry brand is also available in other jewelry stores throughout the US, as well

as in many other countries, such as Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

1 - Tiffany's First Single

While the rest of the family is much more entrepreneurial, Tiffany seems to be the more

creative Trump in the family.

Back in 2014 when she was still in school at Upenn, she actually recorded a single called

"Like a Bird".

While I'm not exactly a music expert, I'm gonna say that there's a lot of auto-tune

at work here, and I can't really tell how well she sings.

I don't know.

Sounds like a lot of pop songs out there, but I can't actually say I'd listen to

the song.

She recorded the song with two people called Sprite and Logic.

No this isn't the same Logic that's actually a good rapper.

Unsurprisingly, the song didn't become a huge hit when it first came out.

However, the internet did rediscover the single after Tiffany spoke in support of her dad

at the Republican National Convention.

Amazon reviewers seemed to have trouble making up their mind over the song's quality, with

the bulk of reviews coming in at either one or five stars.

Here's what's next!

How to draw realistic hair Easy for Beginners Step by Step - Duration: 28:21.

Hi this is Mustafa Saadi in a new video to teach drawing.

Today we will learn

How to draw hair in a distinctive way

The drawing tools used are

Normal pencil

mechanical pencil 0.7

blending stump : brush

red colored pencil

We start drawing steps and we will draw a circle

Semi-oval which will be the boundaries of the hairstyle

Dimly and faintly to avoid mistakes

Then draw a small square below the circle

It is the knot of the rose or phonica that binds to the hair

On the side of the square we draw triangular-like lines

Which is to be straightened to form our hair knot

Or that binds to hair

From the bottom of the phonica we draw semi-curved or curved lines from bottom to top

Which represent hair

We also draw small hairs at the end of the head

Or end of hair

Which are usually the highest neck at the limits of hair

Then we draw these lines, which form the hairstyle

As you notice, draw it quickly

Fast so that the lines are not criss-crossed or zigzag

Sometimes it is possible to mistake it by drawing it so quickly

The speed is therefore advised to draw it dimly

Then we complete the drawing on the pre-drawn lines

Then we start to straighten the hair and draw the hair with these lines

The lines must be equal and equal to each other

Some get a harmonious shape for the hairstyle

Also do not forget to put reflections on your hair

To increase the fee

Aesthetic and gives it a distinctive touch and closer to the truth

And we complete the hair drawing in the same way

With the addition of these lines or capillaries similarly

Also do not forget to leave a space in the middle of the hair

Which will represent the reflection of lighting later

Later light reflection will appear better after shading

After we have identified the shape of the hair from the top

We draw short hairs out of the hairstyle

To have the drawing closer to reality

And we complete the drawing of poetry on the other hand

And also clean more short bristles

To give more aesthetics for drawing and more realistic

Go back to drawing hair from the side

To complete the structure of the head and outer layout of the head

We begin by drawing and planning the phonics as clear before you

We draw the ear like this

From the bottom of the ear we draw a line to represent the face of the girl or girl

Then we draw another line from below

The face line represents our neckline

On the other hand, we complete the neckline

We start by drawing the fingers of the hand from the top of the girl's shoulder to show us that the girl is putting her hand on her shoulder

We identify the nails

Start with the other shoulder

We draw curved lines representing the dress or clothes worn by the girl

And draw a large arch related to the shoulders, which represents the opening of the dress or any type of clothes worn

After we have completed everything from the planning side, we begin shading using the brush

As you notice the brush, the lead on the paper is distributed professionally and distinctly

The shape of the hair changes to a crispy shape and more gloss

As you notice the spaces we left in the middle of the hair

Which was a reflection of the lighting gave a more beautiful shape of the hair.

We use a smaller brush in the small places and hard nooks in the drawing

Then we use the pencil years to draw hairs to show us the hairdo

The more beautiful the hair will be closer to reality

We use the brush again to shade the cake or hair at the top

Return the pen to add the final touches on the hair to get a satisfactory result

We begin by drawing the hand and adding the details of the hand and shading it using the brush and the mask

So that the shading of the hand is similar to the shading of the neck

We begin by drawing the hand and adding the details of the hand and shading it using the brush and the mask

So that the shading of the hand is similar to the shading of the neck

We start by coloring the nails using a red wooden pen

And do not forget to leave a simple and small space to represent us the reflection of light on the synergy

Last but not least, we paint the fonka with the same red wooden pen

This is where our lesson ends today
