5 Helpful Study Abroad Tips // How to study abroad - Duration: 4:24.

Hello everyone! I'm Mildred from MosaLingua

In this video, I will share with you five pieces of advice when it comes to studying abroad.

These tips are based on my own experience of studying and

working during the last five years in England.

Now, here's my advice

Tip # 1: Before you go abroad, try

Immersing yourself in the language. I advise you to Listen to podcasts, radio, TV series and

movies in the language you want to learn. So you will not feel lost

once you arrive at your destination.

If you plan to attend an academic course,

I recommend you search for courses

in connection with your discipline on iTunes U

There you will find lots of audio recordings of real dictation courses

from the most prestigious universities in the world such as Oxford or MIT.

This exercise will help you quickly become familiar with the academic community.

and if you are looking for resources to learn English and measure your progress

I recommend that you visit the web page: khanacademy.org

Tip # 2: Prepare to get out of your comfort zone.

It is important to keep in mind that when you study abroad,

you will be in a constantly changing environment,

because every day brings new learning experiences, and events

that are impossible to predict. So, for example, you sometimes feel like you fall

More quickly into the language, or have a better understanding than other days.

,which is quite normal! The most important thing is that you remain flexible and

quickly adapt to any learning challenges you may

face. To do this, it is important that from the first day you are ready

to speak the language as much as you can and that you follow a daily routine

learning to make it easier to read and write academic courses.

Tip # 3: Focus on the vocabulary you need most.

To do this, I recommend you take inspiration from the vocabulary of

every day life and the vocabulary of your discipline.

For example, you can use tools such as the MosaLingua app,

which will help you to memorize vocabulary that is useful on a daily basis, and

to manage without any problems during the first months of your stay.

I also advise you to create a vocabulary list with the academic words you

use the most in your courses, and assign them specific symbols.

So, when you take notes, you will not waste time writing the same word several times.

In the MosaLingua application, there is a special "pack" allowing you to learn

this type of vocabulary. Tip # 4:

avoid people who speak the same language as you.

I know it's easier to meet people from the same country,

but you will not progress quickly if you speak your mother tongue all the time.

Meeting people from other nationalities is easier than you think since

like you, they are also alone in an unknown country and they also want to meet new people.

I advise you to participate in activities organized by the

Student Associations at your university or language school.

Tip # 5: Participate in activities that will help you be

immersed in the language and culture of the country.

Being a volunteer is a tremendous opportunity to learn a

language, meet people who have the same interests as you and

will make it part of a cause that positively impacts the lives of everyone!

Similarly, volunteering is a good opportunity to acquire and develop

skills, which you will surely use

in your next jobs! I hope you enjoyed my video.

Do not forget to subscribe to MosaLingua's YouTube channel, of which you will find many

tips for learning languages. See you later!

Their lives in your clicks - WWF @MR SPACE51 (Subtitles) - Duration: 25:03.

The animal cruelty or abuse to an animal, is the fact that a being

make human suffering to an animal, whether wild, domestic, tamed

or held captive, an act aimed at the

suffer, whether in active form by through strokes, injury or form

as passive neglect. This cruelty can be expressed in different

ways. It can be the result of the behavior violent from one person to the animal

servant, to whom he will be subject to violence Free is to say do not feed

or to live in agony. But animal abuse can also

found in more formal settings such as: Scientific research with animal vivisection

that is also called animal experimentation Cosmetics with the use of animals

for the composition of certain products or to test said products, brands

Cosmetic operating in China are forced to perform tests on animals, many

are the brands that test on animals,

Textiles that uses animals for their fur and where the death of the animal to put context

is often contested. Researchers are based on five

freedoms of the animal does not suffer of hunger or thirst, not being a victim of discomfort,

freedom from pain, injury or illness, to express natural behavior for

its species and not to feel fear or distress.

The animal cruelty is often divided into two main categories: active

and passive. The active form falls shots all types inflicted directly to a

animal while passive cruelty negligent state, wherein a lack

to act is more fatal than jeopardizes in himself.

The active humane means wounding and to intentionally suffer and

an animal directly. Cruelty to an animal detectors are serious

psychological problems. There is a link similar between animals and beaten

beaten women and children. Cruelty an animal is

when used as a intimidation

of domestic violence. Different forms of bullfights are still

exercised among them: Bullfighting.

The bull run is one of the few Exceptions Non punished by Article 521-1

the French Penal Code. It is authorized in certain municipalities in southern France

which perpetuate this tradition, registered by the Ministry of Culture in January

2011 Intangible Cultural Heritage France. These races are also allowed

Spain, in various states of America Latin and in some municipalities of Portugal.

The Toro de fuego. The Abrivado.

it was just an oversight! He had not intend to hurt him! It is

unacceptable that such a decision be made, the animals are entitled to TRUE

JUSTICE! This individual is tried for driving under

drunk! But the death of his dog is in any case taken into account?

The murderer must pay for martyrdom and the death of the animal. (Petition link in the description)

Locked in a basement, dogs lived in several centimeters of water and urine

In the Jura, France, 26 dogs were saved an inhuman life. These latter

were found locked in the basement a house where they had to live in

7 cm of water. With time, it was mixed with urine and

animal feces. A show almost unbearable for people who have made

this rescue. According to the Foundation 30 Million Friends,

these animals lacked everything. They had no care, "they probably have

never drank or eaten their fill. " The rescued animals are not sterilized

not identified. In addition to all that, 26 dogs have never had the opportunity to

enjoy the love from a To be human. Because they always have

lived well together and left to themselves, they are used to act as a

pack. Fortunately, dogs are easily

allowed to approach by the people took charge, and despite years

suffering, they do not present sign of aggression. To make the rescue

possible, it took the intervention of the Foundation 30 Million Friends of the Refuge

Animal lovers Autun (In 71) and the Mayor of Lavans-lès-Saint-Hot.

Once the rescue fact, animals placed in various shelters. After

With the approach of summer shelters animals you have paid. abandoned

by their masters, they are thousands dogs and cats to express their distress

behind the bars of the cage until let sometimes wither.

Shelters record 100 000 dropouts Every year in France, of which only 60 000

that summer. To educate owners and future pet owners, SPA

launched a campaign against early June abandoning the slogan "Too many masters

are wrong, no excuse for the abandonment ".

The release of an Asian elephant has moved hundreds of thousands of people.

Unfortunately, this animal is not a isolated case and many of his peers

suffer similar fates every day to amuse tourists. To do

move mentalities, the Society for Wolrd the Protection of Animals (WSPA) released

a report. On 6 July 2017, the company World Animal Protection unveiled

lives of the conditions of those we called "elephants tourists. "

This phenomenon particularly affects the Asian continent where one can see

Tourists strolling the back of elephants. Behind a ride may seem unusual,

even fun, hides a frightening reality. Indeed, elephants who have the misfortune

ending up having to walk tourists spend a life of misery and cruelty where

suffering is part of their daily lives. To give you an idea of the daily

his animals, we must go back to their childhood, when they are separated from their mothers.

These elephants, still very young, are following then exhausting drive in order to

folding the desires of their handlers and tourists. In order to obey the animals,

abuse is required. They are under-nourished and chained to ultimately carry

tourists for long hours their backs.

Faced with this problem, solutions are being implemented and many

animal protection work above. The first thing to do is to reverse

the trend by offering an approach respectful, and above all more dignified,

elephants. The objective is that the forest walks on the back of an elephant

disappear, and it often begins by raising awareness among tourists. For

able to approach closer to the elephants without hurting them, it is possible to come

observe them closely in various parks. WSPA also found 13 places

this kind where animals live in excellent conditions and where they are free.

If you want to make things happen, you can include sign up petition

Online WPSA by trying to pressure the people still approving such

practice. (Link to the petition in the description) It has been almost four years that the law

banned wild animals in circuses applies. "See a real animal

has more impact than an image on a screen. The number of entries in zoos is

constantly increasing but the mentality people has changed. Nobody wants

see animals in small cages! The Zoos have to reflect this change.

This is done, in particular concerning the enclosures, has nothing to do with what was

thirty years ago. This is the London Zoo which was the first to remove its small

cages in the 80 There is obviously good and bad zoos, like the

circuses. But today, it is obviously issue more scandals in major

known zoos. " Wildlife is essential

the nature of balance and our welfare. Nearly two million species

animal and plant have been identified to date, and millions more have

not yet been discovered. this incredible Biodiversity is essential to our lives

on earth. However, more than one species on three is endangered today. Since

more than 50 years, WWF protects the reign animal, fighting especially against poaching,

habitat destruction and conflicts between men and animals. We focus

on the most vulnerable species and the most iconic, but also those

which play a major role in ecosystems.

Gorillas are the largest monkeys and probably the most impressive.

Yet, far from the image conveyed by literature and cinema, gorillas

are peaceful and shy animals. They are our closest cousins after

chimpanzees and bonobos. In the wild, gorillas can live

up to 40 years. But the high rate of infant mortality and low number

of births are a species particularly vulnerable. The populations of gorillas

fallen sharply in recent 30 years. And it may continue in coming

years. The family consists of gorillas two species: the western gorilla and

the eastern gorilla, which each have two subspecies. Today, the four

subspecies of gorillas are endangered, threatened by hunting, loss of

habitat, illegal trade of animals and infectious disease.

This placid bear in black and white coat is revered worldwide and considered

as a true national icon in China. However, the giant panda is threatened. In

Because of human activities, only 1800 pandas still live in the wild.

The giant panda is the rarest of all bear. He lives mainly in forests

Bamboo high western mountains China, where it feeds almost exclusively

bamboo, which it ingests between 12 and 40 kg per day. Because of the reduction

its habitat, the panda is more difficult bamboo which he loves. Forests are

cut to make way for agriculture, mining and construction

roads. Many populations of pandas thus find themselves isolated on narrow

forest strips, broad barely 1.2 km. They can hardly move

from one region to another to find bamboo or reach other populations

pandas. Dolphins are among the oldest

animals of our planet, like some turtles, crocodiles

and sharks. Yet many species Dolphins live perhaps their last decade on Earth.

Emitting rattling sound and capturing echoed these sounds, these marine mammals

are able to know the size, shape, distance, direction and speed

a submerged object. This technique called their echolocation is used to track the

fish and cuttlefish. We find these iconic and intelligent animals

in all oceans, but also in some major rivers such as the Amazon and the

Yangtze. There are 36 species of Delphinidae, some are so threatened that believes

they could be gone in 10 years.

Dolphins and porpoises are enthroned at the top the food chain and play a

valuable role in the ecological balance of marine life. They have much to us

learn about ocean health and the amount of fish that live there.

They are also very popular with tourists. Generally, dolphins

are victims of fishing nets, in which they are caught accidentally. It is

the so-called "bycatch ". But they are also threatened by pollution

and noise pollution and traffic maritime.

Few species have so captured the imagination collective as the brown bear. His power

and sometimes behave similarly man makes a fascinating and iconic animal.

The brown bear is one of the largest predators land and most widespread Ursidae.

In nature, brown bears can live up to 30 years. It is found in very landscapes

diversified between dry steppe tundra dense mountain forests. The brown bear

is able to stand and pick objects with his fingers. It is

omnivorous but feeds mainly on plant materials and food

varies by season. In the spring, he eats grass and sprouts. In summer,

it goes to berries and apples, and fall, nuts and plums. All year,

he eats roots, insects, mammals and reptiles, plus honey.

Dominating once North America, Europe and Asia, the brown bear little

just disappeared from some areas fleeing the presence of men and their growing thirst

new infrastructure. Today, only the most wild areas are home

still brown bear populations. same entrenched in the heart of nature, bear

Brown continues to be driven, in particular for his gallbladder, used in medicine

traditional Asian and aphrodisiac. Logging and construction

new roads also directly threaten habitat and impact lifestyle.

The intrusion of men in their habitat also creates conflicts, which end

often tragically.

Marine turtles ply the seas for more than 100 million years. But since

two centuries, they are unfortunately threatened by human activities. he

is urgent that we respond to their provide a secure future.

There are seven species of marine turtles,

namely the loggerhead turtle, green turtle, hawksbill, Kemp's Ridley, the

olive turtle, turtle flat back and Leatherback turtle. They are present in

all oceans of the world except the Arctic Ocean. They are found in particular

in seagrass beds in shallow waters Indian Ocean or in the reefs

colorful Great Barrier Reef and the sandy beaches in the eastern Pacific.

Sea turtles can swim thousands of kilometers to find the beach

they were born, and lay in turn. Female digs a hole in the sand and

it lays 100 to 200 eggs before close.

Turtles play a key role in marine and coastal ecosystems. they help

the health of seagrass beds and reefs coral, including other animal species

such as shrimp, lobster and tuna also make their living. Turtles

Marine also have cultural and important tourist.

Sea turtles are almost all classified as threatened and three of

seven species are critically endangered. Killed for their eggs, their skin and their

shell, they also suffer from unsustainable fishing. The turtles are captured

accidentally in nets intended fish. Their habitat and places

nesting are also threatened destruction. In addition, climate change

has an impact on nesting areas sea turtles. It changes the temperature

sand, which affects the sex of the offspring and can generate an imbalance

within populations.

Probably the most majestic inhabitants the far north, the polar bear is the most

largest land predator on the planet. Its Latin name, Ursus maritimus, means

'Bear of the sea ", a name that suits him particularly since it spends most

of its time in the water or on the ice.

The polar bear, which is called more often

polar bear is the largest, heaviest and most powerful Ursidae. The polar bear

is carnivorous. It feeds mainly fat seal but also eat carcasses

beluga whales and walruses. When food is scarce, it can attack

the musk ox, reindeer and small rodents. The polar bear does not find

food all the year: it forms its fat between April and July

and can fast for three or four months, see more.

Predator in the food chain, the polar bear is an excellent indicator

the state of the Arctic marine ecosystem. The latest research shows that the

Arctic ice melts at a speed alarming. The bears, which depend on

sea ice for feeding, must now fast longer. Their health declines

and their reproduction rate decreases. private their space for rest and hunting,

Polar bears are venturing increasingly on land in search of food,

which increases the risk of conflicts between man and animal. But that's not all :

unsustainable hunting, pollution and exploration Oil also participate in decline

the polar bear population.

Elephants inhabit the surface of the Earth for 60 million years: no

less than 300 species have existed as well. he remains today only two: the elephant

African and Asian elephants.

The African elephant is the largest and heaviest land animals. With

an average height of 3.3 m at the shoulder, it has the stature of a true giant. The elephant

Asia is slightly smaller and reaches on average 3 m at the withers. The gestation of

elephants lasts between 18 and 22 months: a absolute record in the animal kingdom. it

also means a lot of time a family of elephants to enlarge

and ensure its maintenance, which makes the species especially vulnerable.

Both elephant species evolve over vast territories. They roam in herds

and ingest between 150 and 200 kg of vegetation every day. They need quantity

important food and water, but also large spaces.

Elephants play an important role in the savanna ecosystems and

forests for the benefit of other species animal, and are also associated with

rich biodiversity. Sadly, their habitat continues to shrink.

The habitat of the African elephant was reduced by 50% since 1979 and

remains only 15% of the populated territory once the Asian elephant. Added to this are

Conflict between humans and animals and poaching for ivory, a magnitude

unprecedented and threatens the survival of case.

Whales are among the largest animals that Earth has ever worn. The

Most of these majestic marine mammals, who sail the oceans in search

food, unfortunately today in danger.

Imposing creatures, baleen whales

reaching an average of 20 m in adulthood. They do however eat only krill

and small fish. Their jaws are equipped with baleen kinds of combs their

for filtering food. Whales are mammals: they need air

to breathe and suckle their young. Yes most whales are solitary, some

prefer to hunt in two groups ten individuals. Their complex and mysterious song

allows them to communicate and identify in the depths.

Whales are at the head of the chain food and without them, ecosystems

sailors would be completely overwhelmed. Unfortunately, over 13 species of whales

baleen, nearly half are threatened. Hunting is the killer of the

more important for these cetaceans. Indeed, despite numerous protective measures

and a ban since 1986, hunting whaling for commercial purposes, it

continues in some countries such as Norway, Japan and Iceland. Over 1000 whales

are killed annually since inception the moratorium. Chemical products

toxic, collisions with boats, catch them in nets

fishing, noise pollution and warming climate are other risks

serious for whales.

Protecting these animals is also fighting against :

Climate change :

Climate change threatens unprecedented for species, beings

human and natural areas.

The Bycatch:

Each year, thousands of whales, dolphins, sharks and seals end their days trapped

in fishing nets.

The Disappearance & Habitat degradation:

The loss of habitat is today the greatest threat to wildlife.

Poaching & illegal trade:

Poaching and illegal trade Wild species are the second cause

of species decline after loss their habitat.

The human-animal conflicts:

In many areas, men and the animals are forced to share a

territory in a context of rivalry sometimes intense.

Deforestation :

Deforestation is one of the largest threats to our planet. Each

year 13 million hectares of forests disappear.

Add to this list of animals in danger disappearance, Tiger, Jaguar, Leopard,

Lynx, Rhino, Snow Leopard, Bison, the bonobo, chimpanzee, Thon,

Narval, the orangutan.

Where can I find the love that forever lasts

Where can I find the place so nice to live free

How many times should I swallow my pride Till I get to where I should be

How many words should I lose from my brain Till I can hear the soundless voice

I can't help thinking of these things

When I'm far from the crowd

Here we are living today in the information flood

And yet so little we know about the ways of the world

How many times should I give up my plans Till I can set my spirit free

How many times should I cross the rivers Till I can reach the truth of life

I can't help thinking of these things

When I'm far from the crowd

I can't help thinking of these things

A very special thanks goes out to every member of "Open Sesame!" for composing and performing all ten of these wonderful tracks.

Brilliant audio fidelity brought to you by a state-of-the-art Audio Technica turntable and brilliant recording software Audacity.

I would personally like to thank three amazing people for the overwhelming person support I've had over the years. First, my best friend I've known since kindergarten, I've known you for ten long years, and ever since the beginning you've helped me with things I can't ever thank you enough for, while at the same time always being up to fool around like the outsiders we are.

Secondly, the best friend who I had met in middle school. You may have been the one who really got me interested in starting up my own channel, as you always uploaded the weirdest stuff. Here's to more uploads from both of our channels.

Last, but certainly not least, the best friend I gained in (my first year of) high school. You are honestly one of the absolute coolest people I've met, and over time I've actually begun to have a decent deal of self-confidence in myself thanks to you. I beliee that I've been able to also help you as well this past year, and it's been fantastic getting to know you. I know that I may not be the most outgoing, extroverted person in the world, but you truly bring out the best in me, and I'll always be here to comfort you in times of depression and discomfort. Here's to many more years of being the weird, but great people we all are. :)
