Christmas wherever this finds you my channels purpose is this is to help grow
your faith and to help equip you to accomplish your dreams and your goals
each week on Wednesday I put out a new video and I just want to do this I just
want to help you wherever you're at all throughout the month of December and
we're gonna focus on Christmas and I'm going to talk to you about all kinds of
different things just throughout this holiday season so if you're new here I'd

okay so we're gonna talk about today keeping Christ in Christmas that's the
reason why you clicked on this link that's why you're watching this video
and so I think it's amazing that every year there's going to be a huge debate
right whether it's the Starbucks red cup or maybe it's our favorite retail chain
that's saying happy holidays instead of Merry Christmas so I want to talk about
how do we keep Christ in Christmas you know really when we think about this
it's not a new topic in fact in Luke chapter 2 Jesus was born into adversity
and in fact that King had just sent out the decree and that everybody had to go
be registered and so Mary and Joseph ago and travel to to do that to register
themselves and while they're on the way while they're making this long journey
and Mary goes into labor and so then she goes into and in and they don't have any
room for her we know how the story goes right and so they end up in a stable you
know I think what's interesting is the words there in Luke chapter 2 at verse 7
it says because there was no room or a place for them in the
now I want you to think about this that the culture that Jesus was born into was
adverse wasn't the most ideal of circumstances for him to be born into
and then on top of that the place that Mary turned to for help a place where
she could get rest didn't have a place for Jesus either but yet it did not stop
the plan of God from happening Jesus was still born even though it wasn't in the
ideal situation even though it wasn't where Mary had planned and somehow in
some way it was still in God's perfect plan I love this scripture in Isaiah
chapter 14 verse 27 it says the Lord of Hosts has purposed it and who can annul
it his hand is stretched out and who can turn it back you know I love that so
much because when God has a plan and a purpose there's nothing and no one
that's gonna stop him from fulfilling that plan you know how do you keep
Christ in Christmas the truth is when Jesus was born they didn't want Christ
in it with him to even be there it was everything in the culture wasn't
conducive for it everything even in the places that they went to for help wasn't
there to help and embrace the message of Jesus and yet Jesus was still born I
love in the very next verse that the angels show up to the Shepherd's by
night and they say behold it's Emmanuel God with us you know it's amazing how
when God determines to show up in a situation it doesn't matter who's made
room for him all that matters is one person says yes to his plan and yes to
his purpose I think it's interesting that the Angels declared to the
shepherds who are keeping their flock by 9:00 that it's God with us you know God
wasn't there in the middle of the field Jesus wasn't in the middle of that field
but they were making an announcement that for the first time ever
Jesus was available to whosoever will - whosoever would take the time to go on
the journey and to go to the place where he was that he was there it wasn't in an
ideal situation but yet he was still there nonetheless I think about this and
own lives you know Jesus is very present in this holiday season whether you want
him to be or not he is Emmanuel God with us
now what's the difference between the shepherds and to everybody else they
were willing to go wherever he was they were willing to make room for him to
make a place for him you know this holiday season I think we need to be
less concerned about what Starbucks is doing and less concerned about the real
take we retail chain and we'd be less concerned whether our friends are saying
happy holidays or Merry Christmas we need to be more concerned of does
Jesus have a place in my heart have I made a place for him in my schedule that
would be the first thing I want to talk to you about I can see what you value
most by what you spend your time on you know if you make time for Jesus in your
daily life do you make time for Jesus and going to church do you make time for
Jesus and serving in your community see I can see what you value most by what
you spend your time on how do we keep Christ in Christmas number two it's by
giving when we begin to get the focus off of ourselves and on to other people
that's really what it's all about John 3:16 told us that God so loved that he
gave you know I say this all the time here on my channel that you can give
without loving but you can't love without giving if we truly want to keep
Christ in Christmas then the truth is it all began in Jesus giving his life to us
he came as a baby to die on a cross for a sin that he didn't commit and friends
let me just tell you if that we begin to invest our time and invest our money
then all of a sudden we're gonna see that happen in number three I'm gonna
say this that we're gonna begin to live like crisis and Christmas you know the
story that you tell tells everything it's what you're saying about Christmas
is what you're saying about this season that means more than anything you are
the greatest influence on your family on your workplace on your community it's
not Starbucks job to tell them it's not the retail chains job to tell them it's
not the sign and any markets where to tell them it's your
job to tell them what's the message that you're caring about Christmas are you
telling about God's goodness about his love about his favor are you so busy
complaining about what everybody else isn't doing that you're missing the part
that you're supposed to do you know my kids I remember there was a time where I
thought oh my goodness like I'm gonna sit down and have a devotional with them
and got out my Bible and I thought you know gonna keep Jesus in the holidays
I'm gonna read to them the Nativity story and y'all in just a few minutes
they were bought bouncing all over the walls and it just was not good ended up
me being mad and then being irritated that I was trying to take so much time
and then I realized that I love in John it says that Jesus went about doing good
and healing all who were oppressed of the devil you know I love that because
it wasn't a certain time that he just set aside but it was the lifestyle he
lived and I just want to declare to you that your life is telling a story this
holiday season is it telling one that you're stressed out that you're worried
that your fretful that you're angry that you're just all these negative things or
is it telling a story about how God's love
His grace his peace you know here Jesus was he was born into an adverse
situation in a culture that didn't want him there in an inn that had no place
for him and yet he still came and I love what the Angels say I bring good tidings
of great news you know everything in this situation didn't look great and it
didn't look good but yet they still declared that it was good why because
God calls the end from the beginning and friend if you want to keep Christ in
Christmas this holiday season don't worry about what everybody else is doing
just be concerned about what you're doing I love in Isaiah chapter 60 it
says for us to rise shine for our light has come this holiday season people are
looking for people who are full of joy full of God's love full of hope full of
a message that says you know what I bring good tidings of great joy in this
holiday season how are we gonna keep Christ in Christmas it's gonna be by the
life we live it's gonna be by the stories we tell on
Facebook about how we've got a joy that's bubbling over that we're not
stressed out or not frustrated we're not angry and back to where the opposite
we're full of peace we're full of grace and we're full of joy friends did that
