Doki Doki Literature Club - I'll Be Your Beach (Game Grumps Remix) - Duration: 1:30.

I'll Be Your Beach

Your mind is so full of troubles and fears

That diminished your wonder over the years

But today I have a special place

A beach for us to go.

A shore reaching beyond your sight

A sea that sparkles with brilliant light

The walls in your mind will melt away

Before the sunny glow.

I'll be the beach that washes your worries away

I'll be the beach that you daydream about everyday

I'll be the beach that makes your heart leap

In a way you thought had left you long ago.

" Yeah, I wrote that ~"

Let's bury your heavy thoughts in a pile of sand

Bathe in sunbeams and hold my hand

Wash your insecurities in the salty sea

And let me see you shine.

Let's leave your memories in a footprint trail

Set you free in my windy sail

And remember the reasons you're wonderful

When you press your lips to mine.

I'll be the beach that washes your worries away

I'll be the beach that you daydream about everyday

I'll be the beach that makes your heart leap

In a way you thought had left you long ago.

[mumbling]

But if you let me by your side

Your own beach, your own escape

You'll learn to love yourself again.

"I'll be your beach!"

Korean government to ban food and beverages that contain high caffeine from school campuses - Duration: 0:38.

In an effort to encourage children and teenagers to develop healthy eating habits, the Korean

government is to ban coffee from all school campuses.

Korea's Ministry of Food and Drug Safety on Thursday announced that partial amendments

to the Special Act on Children's Dietary Life Safety Management passed the National Assembly's

Health and Welfare Committee.

The amendments include a ban on sales of food and beverages with high caffeine content,

including coffee.

The revised bill could come into effect as early as July if approved by the Legislation

and Judiciary Committee.

U.S. imposes new sanctions that target North Korea's financial network - Duration: 2:10.

Despite its recent peace overtures to Seoul, North Korea is being hit by more sanctions

by the United States.

The Treasury Department has announced new punitive measures on two dozen entities and

individuals linked to Pyongyang's nuclear and missile programs.

The move comes as part of President Trump's "maximum pressure" strategy, aimed at forcing

North Korea to abandon its nuclear weapons.

Park Hee-jun reports.

The United States has made it clear that it's willing to come down hard on anyone attempting

to help North Korea's weapons programs.

The U.S. Treasury Department announced Wednesday that it's imposing new sanctions on six North

Korean vessels, nine entities, and 16 individuals from China and Russia,... that are accused

of curbing international efforts to isolate the North.

Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said in a statement that the "Treasury continues to

systematically target individuals and entities financing the Kim regime and its weapons programs,

including officials complicit in North Korean sanctions evasion schemes."

To focus on the regime's financial networks, Washington has sanctioned five individuals

in Russia and China,... and 10 individuals linked to the Korea Ryonbong General Corporation,

which the United Nations has previously sanctioned.

Also among the targets are two Chinese firms, Beijing Chenxing Trading and Dandong Jianxiang

Trade, which the Treasury accused of exporting goods worth more than 68-million U.S. dollars

to North Korea,... and importing goods worth 19-million dollars from North Korea.

The recent sanctions demonstrate U.S. President Donald Trump's "maximum pressure" policy on

North Korea.

"The U.S. believes that despite the ongoing inter-Korea talks and the North's participation

in the PyeongChang Games,... there is no change in the regime's nuclear ambitions.

North Korea is still developing and flaunting its nuclear capabilities-- forcing the U.S.

to maintain its excessive pressure on the regime."

Experts say that the latest sanctions are a means to force North Korea to give up its

nuclear power and eventually bring it to the negotiating table with the United States.

Washington has said that it is willing to talk to the North under the "right circumstances"--

meaning when the regime decides on the path of denuclearization.

South Korea's economy grows 3.1% in 2017, fourth-quarter GDP falls 0.2% on-quarter - Duration: 1:31.

South Korea's central bank has released its preliminary data on the country's fourth quarter

growth and 2017 full-year GDP growth,... and the figures make interesting reading.

Kim Hyesung has the details.

For the first time in three years, South Korea's economic growth surpassed the three percent

mark in 2017.

According to the Bank of Korea on Thursday, South Korea's real GDP grew three-point-one

percent last year, up from two-point-eight percent in 2016.

This comes on the back of strong exports, especially semiconductors and electronics,

amid the recovering global economy.

Private consumption showed a gradual recovery, with both construction investment and facilities

investment continuing a trend of expansion.

But in the final quarter of 2017, the country's economy contracted zero-point-two percent,

recording the worst quarterly growth since 2008.

The central bank attributed the slower growth due to a base effect as third quarter growth

marked one-point-five percent, the fastest expansion in seven years.

Fourth quarter year-on-year growth came to three percent.

In addition, fewer working days over the extra-long Chuseok holiday held back industrial production.

Exports contracted more than five percent on-quarter,... as a rise in exports of semiconductors

was offset by a fall in outbound shipments of automobiles.

Imports also fell four-point-one percent as inbound shipments of machinery shrank.

North Korea's Olympics inspection team starts three-day trip to South Korea - Duration: 2:15.

Our top story this afternoon.... the Olympic diplomacy between the two Koreas.

North Korea's inspection team and 15 members of their women's ice hockey team arrived in

South Korea about two-and-a-half hours ago.

The players will start training with their South Korean counterparts as they prepare

to compete as a unified team.

The delegates will be here for the next three days to inspect Olympic facilities in PyeongChang,

Gangneung and Seoul.

Ji Myung-kil reports.

A North Korean delegation of eight members led by Yun Yong-bok,... the deputy director

general of Pyongyang's sports ministry arrived in South Korea on Thursday morning.

This is the second time for Yun to step on South Korean soil, after making a similar

visit in 2014 ahead of the Incheon Asian Games that year.

The delegation is joined by a 15-member ice hockey team, and they used the Gyeongui Line

train route on the western part of the peninsula to cross the border and enter South Korea.

This is the second inspection team from North Korea to arrive in the South after Hyon Song-wol,

the leader of the Samjiyon Orchestra, led the first team last weekend for a two-day

visit.

Yun's inspection team plans to look around accommodations, the venues for figure skating

and ice hockey, and the athletes village,... all located in the city of Gangneung,... which

is hosting the ice events of next month's PyeongChang Winter Olympics.

On Friday... the team will move to Pyeongchang to check out the press center, the PyeongChang

Olympic Stadium, the slopes of the Alpensia resort for cross-country skiing and the Yongpyong

ski resort.

On Saturday... the team plans to inspect accommodation facilities in Seoul for a 30-member taekwondo

demonstration team, as well as the concert hall in one of Seoul's broadcasting stations.

They are expected to head back to North Korea in the afternoon.

The North's second inspection team comes as the two Koreas released a statement on January

9th agreeing that the North would send athletes, a cheering squad, art troupe, a taekwondo

demonstration team and journalists to the PyeongChang Winter Olympics.

Islamic State claims deadly attack on Save the Children office in Jalalabad - Duration: 1:42.

Islamic State militants attacked a Save the Children's office in eastern Afghanistan on

Wednesday,... killing at last five people and injuring dozens.

The NGO has condemned the attack,... with the United Nations stressing that aid workers

should never be a target.

Park Se-young has more.

Gunmen stormed an office of Save the Children in eastern Afghanistan on Wednesday, killing

at least five people and injuring 26.

Islamic State claimed responsibility for the attack, which began with a suicide car bomb

outside the Jalalabad office and set off a shootout with police that lasted almost ten

hours.

Up to 46 people took refuge in a fortified "safe room" in the compound and were rescued

by late afternoon.

Save the Children denounced the attack, which killed three of their staff members.

"Save the Children condemns this attack.

Aid workers should never, never be a target."

The NGO, which has operated in Afghanistan since 1976, said it has closed its offices

and suspended its operations temporarily, but remains committed to helping the children

there.

"We have suspended for a while our operations in Afghanistan, but we rest deeply committed

to helping the children in Afghanistan.

… Save the Children has been there for more than 40 years and we will stay in Afghanistan

to help all these children."

UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres said he was "appalled and deeply saddened" by the

casualties and reiterated that aid workers should never be targeted.

Chinese scientists successfully clone monkeys for first time - Duration: 2:29.

In a major technological feat,...

Chinese scientists have successfully cloned monkeys for the first time, by transplanting

donor cells into eggs.

Scientists hope the monkeys can pave way for medical research for human diseases.

Park Soyun reports.

In a world first, Chinese researchers have cloned two healthy monkeys by using the same

technique that produced Dolly the sheep two decades ago, breaking the barrier of cloning

primate species.

The cloning of primates was long considered to be fundamentally more difficult than cloning

other mammals such as sheep and horses.

Two monkeys named Zhong Zhong and Hua Hua were born in November and December of last

year at a laboratory in Shanghai after 79 attempts.

The Chinese Academy of Sciences said the procedure was technically challenging.

Scientists removed DNA-containing nucleus from monkey eggs and replaced it with DNA

from the monkey fetus.

It's the first time this technology -- called somatic cell nuclear transfer -- has been

used to clone non-human primates.

"In 2016, we got 127 egg cells, 109 reconstructed embryos and nearly 80 good embryos that can

be used in transplant.

We transplanted them into 21 monkeys, and found 6 got pregnant.

Of that, two without fetal hearts aborted in the process, and another two had a gestational

sac only, but we found the fetus and fetal hearts in the last two."

A researcher said the cloned monkeys will be useful to study genetic diseases, including

certain types of cancers, metabolic and immune disorders.

"The barrier of cloning primate species is now overcome.

In principle, any primate including humans can be cloned.

But our purpose of producing cloned monkeys is purely for human benefit, for medical purposes.

We see no reason to clone humans.

Society, for ethical reasons, will not permit cloning of humans and this is never within

our consideration, to extend that technique to humans."

This study suggests that human cloning could technically be possible in the near future,

raising serious ethical concerns.

This watershed discovery will potentially lead to a brave new world of medical research

and spark heated debate over cloning another primate species: humans.
