What is Christian Mindfulness for Kids? - Duration: 7:52.
I'm not saying technology's a bad thing. good grief! I'm on YouTube. Today's video
is all about mindfulness for Christian kids. hi! I'm Shawn. If you are new welcome!
I post new content every Tuesday and Wednesday so while you are here I hope
that you will consider subscribing. Let's get into today's four tips to
raise mindful Christian kids. First off we need to talk about what does it
mean to be mindful and Christian. I found a definition from an article
called "Christian mindfulness" by Kim Gaines Eckhardt. I will link her
article in the description box down below. Reading from the notes here it says,
defines Christian mindfulness as: "intention to pay attention, intention to
pay attention to each and every moment of our life non-judgmentally." This is
opposed to our busy multitasking, task- driven, plugged into technology life. so
that's opposed to that. The practice of Christian mindfulness
engages our body purposefully through purposeful silence and being in the
present God moments of daily life. Christian mindfulness is being present
and finding those moments in our daily life where we are open to being present
with God. How does this translate over into the life of our kids? My seven
month old baby is talking, babbling over here if you hear any
babbling in the background. Here are my four tips to be mindful Christians
This is relatively new to me. Some of these things I've been doing for years
but the whole concept of "mindfulness." I think mindfulness is a buzzword that
helps us to focus more on those moments that God interacts with us in
life and ways that we can interact also with God in our daily life. Here are
my four tips. My first tip is to do breath prayers with your child.
Let me know if you guys have noticed this but in my ten-year-old, he's a
preteen now, he does have a little bit of anxiety about school. I feel like there
are moments where he just needs to be calm and be still so we are
practicing breath prayers. It's simply breathing in and breathing out.
You can say something like "praise God from whom all blessings flow". You
want to breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth. That's just a
simple breath prayer. Tip 2 is unplugging from social media and tech time. We
have a rule in our house where I only allow, as a reward, one hour of tech time.
That can be TV...I know that sounds like a lot when I was a kid it
was like 30 minutes, you got like a 30 minute show when you came home but that
was it. but can be a TV or iPad time or gaming
time because my my ten-year-old loves love's love's online gaming with his
friends. So we have limited tech time. I feel like that's a good thing to go
unplugged and for myself too... but that's a whole other topic about unplugging for
myself that I need to work on... but unplugging and just having those moments
to encourage quiet play. And encourage reading or maybe some light music, not
some heavy music because music can sometimes also be noise in our heads and
distract us from living in the present. I feel like a big part of being
mindful Christians is living in the present and being present in those daily
moments. So giving our children time to, you know, read their favorite book,
play with their toys... I don't know about you but sometimes I find my son has his
whole room of toys and he'll come to me saying "mom I don't know what to do. what
do I do?" and it's not our job to entertain our kids!
I strongly believe that it's not our job to entertain our kids but we can give
our kids a list of choices. I have a list that I will go over with my son.
you know you've unplugged from TV you don't know what to do. Here are some
things you can do: you can go play outside, you can read a book, and you can
do some quiet time. I think that is living in the present and being open to
experiencing God and having God interact in those moments of quiet time. That was
long. That took me a long time to get that point. I'm sorry you guys. I did take a
long time. Tip number three is modeling presence in our mundane life, in
our daily routine life. Being present. As parents, I highly believe how we
model our life, that's what our kids- how our kids are going to see how things are
supposed to be done. So if we're modeling being plugged in all the time to
technology or, you know, on our phones we're running chores or any type of time
where we get bored and we're using technology on our phones then that's the
behavior that they are also going to model. They don't see us pray. They
don't see us spending quiet time in Scripture then our kids aren't going to
do that. You know, it's not always up to the church to teach us... to teach our kids
Christianity. It's up to us, as parents, to teach to Christianity. Okay, that's a
soapbox. I'm not saying technology's a bad thing.
good grief! I'm on YouTube. I'm on all the social medias, except for
snapchat. I'm not on snapchat. I don't feel like there's anything wrong
with technology but everything, you know, when we overdo it then I think there's
something wrong. When it rules our life and when we find ourselves turning to
those things that take us away from our kids and take our kids away from
interacting with us and having relationships then I feel like we have
moved away from being mindful Christians. Tip number four. This is a bonus tip
because you may not agree with me on this. But, we can be mindful
Christian's by practicing yoga poses. With my son and I plan on doing this
when my daughter is old enough as well. But, especially for active
kids, they need to be moving a lot of times and so to be silent and mindful of
their bodies. Part of being a mindful Christian is connecting to your body and
being mindful of how your body feels. This ties in to your health as well
and your emotional state as well as your spiritual state. But just being mindful
of your body. Preteens are so awkward! so awkward! but just taking some yoga
poses that are calming for children that can help them just focus in on their
body and listening to their own body. I think that's a part of being mindful
Christians. You know a Christian is not always up in our head and focusing on
the spiritual, it's also living in the corporal moments and being present in our
bodies. All right, so I would love for you to give this video a thumbs up if you
would like for me to maybe flesh out more of these tips that I've given you
today. I can do individual videos on these different tips to kind of give you
more practical ideas and kind of go more in depth because today's video was more
of a short, sweet, to the point- even though I did go on a couple of rants-
was more focused. Baby girl over here, my baby girl, is a little cranky. I think
it's time for nap time. I will see you guys in my next video. I post
every Tuesday and Wednesday. You're crazy! you're being such a good girl over
there. yes you are.

reasons that if you ignore me you will see how
There is a before and after your
marketing digital
good
Hello my name is Juan Merodio and
Welcome to a new video if you
first time and want to learn all
tricks on digital marketing and how
objetivos comunes y no haya fugas 4
define un cuadro de mandos mensual de
resultados y a seguimiento no yo te
estás haciendo digital y no digital te
sea rentable porque al final estáis
haciendo grandes inversiones y no es lo
mismo tener un ratio de conversión del 1
por ciento que el 1.8 por ciento
entonces yo siempre me gusta trabajar
varios como he dicho alguna manera micro
posibles

Locating services in Barwon Heads for a home extension - Duration: 4:34.
Hey guys.
Ben here.
Geelong Cable Locations.
Hope you're all well.
Hope you're all having a great day.
We're out at Barwon Heads at the moment.
Exclusive Barwon Heads now.
It's pretty pricey out this way.
And yeah, you can see why.
Look at the view.
It's pretty nice out here.
So they're doing a home renovation.
The builder has called us out.
They're going to be extending the back and doing, putting a pool in.
They're doing a bit of works.
And they've asked us to come out and make sure there's no pipes
or cables in the area they're digging.
We have found a sewer already.
Right where they're working.
There's a stormwater that we can't locate.
But we're pretty sure it 's going to be where they're working as well.
We're just double checked some of the services out the front.
They're out of the way but we want just to confirm where they were.
Just to make sure that they're definitely out of the way.
Away from where they were going to be working.
it's a nice day out here.
And we're just getting through and getting it done.
Come have a look at this power cable that we found.
It's nothing special but it goes on a bit of an angle
a bit different to what the plan says what it does.
Come have a look at this.
Okay, so let me show you this power we found.
It goes from the pit here as you can see.
Then it comes up
around the corner here
up around this tree and then dives back in over here
around here
and then over to the meter.
So a bit different to what it says in the meter.
In the meter it says it goes from the meter straight out to that pit out there
which obviously it doesn't do.
It goes over I mean it does go to it
after going through a bit of an angle.
But anyway.
Okay so the stormwater pipes coming down from the roof.
We've found they're all going down in to this IO.
This is where they're coming from the inspection opening.
And then from here
they're coming from here the stormwater goes straight down
to the pit down there.
So there's a pit down the corner.
Have a look in that one there.
And from there, so we can't actually rod it.
I can't get the rod in this pit here.
But we have found that it does go we've lined it up, up there.
So it's only a Quality C. So Quality C locate because we can line up
the pit from there to here
but it is out of the way of where they're digging over there.
So it's away from where they're going. Which is good.
Okay, so we've got another downpipe here coming down.
But this one here doesn't actually go out the front
with the others.
Well, not that we can work out.
We reckon it comes down here.
We can see it coming on an angle there.
But we can't see it past there.
But there is a stormwater down there.
Stormwater main down there.
So I reckon it's going to be right where they're digging.
They're going to be digging in here and I reckon it's coming up
and going down that way through there.
It is only a stormwater pipe so it's going to be pretty simple for them to fix.
It's only a little plastic pipe.
So, they've said not to worry about trying to locate it.
We could have ran through here with the ground penetrating radar to try and locate it.
But it would have taken a bit more time.
So the builder said not to worry about it.
They'll just divert it either around or even go back out to the front that way.
So, yeah.
Sometimes it easier just to replace and fix the pipe
especially a little PVC pipe like that rather then trying to spend
yeah an hour or so with ground penetrating radar trying to locate where it is.
But, that's not always the case.
So every job is a case by case.
Okay, so here's another one to show you.
The gas meter.
So this is where the gas pipe comes in.
There's actually no gas meter here.
There's no gas connected yet.
But there is still a trace wire.
So you've got the trace wire as you can see on the gas pipe
and from here it goes out to the street
out that way there.
So just because there's no gas meter doesn't mean there's no gas service at the property.
There is still a gas pipe that runs down and as you see it's capped off.
So it is live.
So if they hit the gas.
If they hit the gas pipe then there would still be an issue.
So just because there's no gas meter does not mean there's no gas here.
And that's it guys.
We're all finished out here.
Shaun is just doing the paperwork now.
Packing up and we're good to go.
We're off to another job now.
I hope you've enjoyed this video.
If you do give me a thumbs up, let me know.
If you've got any comments, any questions, anything I can be of assistance with
be it this job or any others we do leave them below in the section below
leave your comments and yeah let me know if you're liking my videos,
if you're not liking them and let me know if you've got any questions.
Anything I can be off assistance with.
I'm always happy to help out.
Always try to reply back to every comment we get.
Guys, you take care.
And I'll catch you on the next job.
Bye.

The Need for Speed - Downhill Skateboarding | Speedboarders - Duration: 2:36.
(DOWNHILL SKATEBOARDING THE NEED FOR SPEED)
Downhill skateboarding
is a sport where we use skateboards
to go fast down mountains.
And we have evolved from traditional
street skateboarding using longer boards
and reverse kingpin trucks,
and focusing on bigger wheels for stability
to go pretty much as fast as we possibly can.
Downhill skateboarding, to me,
is very freeing.
I'm a very hyperactive person.
So my mind is always going and going and going.
When I'm going fast and I'm in a gnarly situation,
everything goes silent and I'm completely at peace
and I'm where I need to be.
Going down with high speed on a skateboard,
just a piece of wood with wheels...
You can do whatever you want, so you have...
You have, like...
The power to do what you want to do.
Yeah, it feels really cool.
Downhill skateboarding is just
solely a rush in adrenaline,
and also a means of expression.
Going down a hill on your skateboard
is just an amazing feeling.
You get the adrenaline rush like nothing else
and you just feel like an outlaw,
and I think that's what drives people to do it, as well.
You're focused, absolutely,
on what you're doing in that moment.
Things can happen so fast and you need to be able to react.
It's a sport,
but it's also really just a lifestyle.

🎉💜 Giveaway Announcement and Survey Results! 💜🎉 - Duration: 19:34.
Hi everyone, it's Katey, and today I am announcing the giveaway winner from the survey giveaway
that I just did at the beginning of March and it ran through the month of March, and
I also thought it would be fun to kind of run through with you some of the stuff that
came up in that survey, because I found it very interesting. So we had about 250 people
respond to the survey, which it's huge, I was not expecting that many of you to bother
going through the survey, so thank you very much for taking the time. And because there
were so many of you, I didn't like handwrite out so I could do a fun you know draw out
of the hat, I did it on the computer. And so the winner of the giveaway is Tracy 'Kiwi
Girl,' so I will have emailed you, Tracy, by the time this video is up and so hopefully
you'll have responded and will be well on our way for me sending you the Flowers of
the Night Oracle by Cheralyn Darcey and putting together a reading for you! So the first thing
that I found very interesting was for the question where I asked you what your favourite
content that is on my channel is, and I allowed you guys to pick as many options as you would
like and, of course, I tried with all of the questions, as many as I could, to include
an 'other' option. And I just sort of thought it was very interesting, this was one of the
things that I was most looking forward to finding out, was what content that I create
that you guys enjoyed the most, or the majority of you enjoy. And number one by far with 90%
of people saying that this was one of their favourite types of content, was book and deck
reviews. And I'm actually really happy to hear this because, I mean, I know I don't
do deck and book reviews all of the time, and there is a very good reason for that,
and that is because it takes forever you know putting together a review, trying to put all
your thoughts together, all of that stuff, and then also just the filming, filming a
deck review takes a long time because you know, I film and then I film the cards, and
yeah kind of, it's kind of like editing two videos and then editing them together, all
of that stuff. So I can't do them all the time but I love doing them and I take a lot
of pride in my reviews, so I'm really glad to hear that you guys enjoy those. I always
try to be as thorough and thoughtful as they can while still being concise and helpful,
so yeah it made me really happy to hear that you guys enjoy my reviews. The next favourite
was just like generally Tarot videos, which was about 77% of you. And then 72% of you,
which was the third, said that you enjoy my favourites videos which, again, are one of
my favourite videos to make. Unboxings and first impressions came in next at about 65-66%,
which I did find very interesting. I'm not entirely surprised, but interesting because
on my channel I do find that you know those unboxings and first impressions tend to get
quite a lot of views, not always it, depends on the deck, but you know their chances are
pretty high of getting a large amount of views. But they are also the videos that I cop a
lot of criticism on, so I was quite curious to find out where this - unboxings, first
impressions - would fall on the list, and it is fourth. Next was my pagan and spirituality,
alternative spirituality topics, and then there was a bunch within a few percentage
points of 50%, and they were things like my Therapeutic Tarot series, my more advice or
topic discussion videos, tags, chatty videos, or videos on mental health. And then my vlogs
got a 30%, which I was pretty aware of, I know that not many of you like or watch my
vlogs, but there's a like a small little group of you who love them. And then in the 'other'
section I had people saying that they enjoy the spreads videos that I do, and I know I
don't do a huge amount of those, but quite a few of you said that you enjoy the spreads
that I create. And then a lot of you mentioned the how-to and technique sort of videos, which
was interesting because I'm not sure if that is Tarot specific or other things, I don't
know. And then quite a number of you said you really enjoy my more political videos
actually, so the videos that I've done on Aboriginal issues, cultural appropriation,
race, all of that sort of stuff, which did quite surprise me, but another thing that
I'm quite glad to hear. You know, that stuff, the political stuff, isn't stuff that I always
want to be talking about on this channel for multiple reasons, one it just is very draining
emotionally to kind of really put all your thoughts together and then put them out for
the world to hear and judge really, but you know, from time to time I do try to because
I think it's important and it's a big part of who I am. But another reason that I don't
do it all the time is because I am very much aware of my privilege. I'm certainly a minority
in some aspects, but in many, many ways, I'm a person of privilege and I certainly try
to limit how much I speak on issues that I am not an expert on, that isn't a related
to my direct experience. And I try to walk that line of being an ally and showing solidarity,
while not you know elevating my voice more than it needs to be. The next section was
for you guys to kind of just fill out some things that you would like me to discuss or
explore more on the channel, and I had a lot of you say that you would like more Therapeutic
Tarot, which was interesting considering only about 50% of you said you liked those videos
but, I suppose, those of you who do like them really quite enjoy them, which is nice. A
few of you said you want more unboxings, although, obviously, that is quite limited as to what
I buy or trade, although I don't I don't unbox you know for video everything that I get,
so maybe I'll try to do that a little bit more often. It's not something I like to do
too often just because I'm aware that I'm certainly somebody who likes to go and sit
back and think over something before I then you know say, say my piece, so although unboxings
are quite fun, I don't I don't feel like I'm particularly good at them as far as providing
you know something other than just a bit of entertainment, although you know a bit of
entertainment never hurt anybody either! There was a lot of requests for more personal stuff,
whether that had to do with me more explicitly talking about my experience with mental health,
or alcohol abuse, or you know what I do at the altar, or a house tour, all of those sort
of things, and I certainly I understand where that stuff's coming from, because I love those
that sort of content from the people that I watch, but I'm just not sure how comfortable
I am with all of those things. But certainly it's interesting to find out that you guys
are interested in that from me so, I'll certainly have a think about you know where my boundaries
are and how I might be able to include that a little bit more. I suppose I'm a little
bit cautious of oversharing with my mental health. Like, it's really important for me
to be vocal, and that was almost an act of defiance because after, especially after my
suicide attempt, I felt a lot of shame ,I really internalised lot of shame, and so it
was almost this act of defiance to be like, 'No, I'm going to be vocal about this and
you know I'm not going to be proud about it or whatever, but I'm not going to be ashamed,
but I'm not going to let myself be ashamed'. And then also, of course, you know it's just
important for me I think, you know, visibility of these sorts of issues is important, but
also you know it's not easy putting yourself out there and the more personal you get the
more, you kind of, more ammunition you give to people who aren't very kind, and you know
just the fact that I'm open about my suicide attempt and my alcohol- my history with alcohol,
you know that's given some ammunition to some very unkind people already, so you know I
certainly need to be I need to be pretty strong with my boundaries about what I do and don't
share, but also I know that it's important and I know that it's interesting, too. I had
a lot of you asking for things like collabs and live videos which was very interesting
because that's certainly not- I've not done either of those things before really, I've
been interviewed a couple of times but not not a lot and so it's another thing that I'm
not- I'm quite comfortable where I am, you know with my I film things, I edit them, I
upload them... but it is, especially the live things, I have been thinking about those for
a while but I'm not quite sure how that would work for me. I doubt I would be interested
in doing like you know, hopping on for an hour and doing live readings for people. That's
just not how I work really and if you want a reading from me I have an Etsy shop for
that. So I'm not really sure what format that would take other than just being chatty. So
if you have any ideas for what you would want a live video with me to be like I suppose
you can let me know in the comments, because I just haven't quite worked out what that
would be like for me. And quite a number of you asking for more specifically Australian
content, which is absolutely something I've been thinking about doing. I've been trying
to put together a video of like resources for Australian pagans, also thinking about-
just putting a video together of the Australian decks that I have, things like that, so that
is definitely on the list. And it's good to hear that some of you would be interested
in that, too. I had a handful of you asking for basically me to go back to old decks and
discuss them. So you know for decks I did a review on two or three years ago, or I unboxed
a few years ago, and if those decks are still around, to kind of revisit those, and I thought
that was very interesting so I have a few videos coming up on that. And quite a few
of you saying that you would like more book reviews. You know, as I mentioned, reviews
take quite a lot of time although I think I've kind of slowed off on the book reviews
lately, partly because I've been having so much trouble reading. If you've been following,
especially my favourites videos, I've mentioned that the past few months for whatever reason,
if my anxiety is bad or I'm just not, I don't know, I'm feeling pretty good, I just- my
concentration levels aren't great, so I haven't really read a lot of books, but also I just
kind of felt that maybe my books- the books that I was reading wasn't- they weren't especially
relevant. But perhaps perhaps I need to get back in the habit of that. I also sometimes
feel like I give quite- it's succinct but quite a bit of information, like a mini review
in my favourites videos, especially when it comes to books. But I do I do love a good
book review, so I'm going to start trying to incorporate that again a little bit more.
Quite a number of you are asking me to do like either actual readings or mock readings
to get an idea of you know my reading style or you know just to have readings. And that
is something I've been requested of quite a lot over the years, and it's not something
that I feel particularly comfortable with, or that I would be particularly good at, for
a few reasons. One is simply the fact that I find it very hard to do mock readings, you
know when I pull out cards and I don't have you know an intuitive connection to somebody
like a specific situation, a specific person, I find I just end up like listing off very
generic possible meanings of each card, like they don't start to weave together in a story,
they don't create a picture for me in the same way that reading for a person does. But
then I also don't feel comfortable doing a bunch of free readings on my channel you know
for lots of different reasons, but you know I do have an Etsy shop for that sort of thing
if you want a reading from me. And I have thought on and off about doing kind of like
general you know monthly readings or something on the channel, but I know so many people
do that and I don't, I don't know if you know we need another person throwing their hat
in the mix for you know, monthly readings, so I'm not really sure how to incorporate
that in a way that you know feels me, but also aligns with what I want this channel
to be and aligns with my values. So I hear you guys on that, I'm just not sure how it
would work for me, but if you have any ideas you know kind of around what I've just said
and perhaps I'm just not thinking of something, I would love to hear your thoughts. I also
had a bunch of requests for videos of stuff that I suppose you guys are interested in
but that just I don't do, so that I don't I don't have anything of value to add really.
And so some of those things were you know astrology, Lenormand, Tarot de Marseiile,
numerology, chakras, and reversals. So I've spoken about you know the fact that I don't
do reversals and why, but that- that's kind of the extent of my input really because I
don't use them, and so a lot of these other things like astrology, Lenormand, they're
not really big in my practice so I don't have a whole lot to say on them. Those things probably
won't be coming up on my channel anytime soon unless I develop you know organically an interest
in those things and then as I develop I might share that, but for now, I apologise, but
don't hold out for videos on those topics. A few things did come up in that section of
things that people wanted from me or wanted more from me that I actually already have
done, so I wanted to kind of run through those that perhaps you know if you're just newer
here and you haven't seen some of the older videos that I've done, I thought I would let
you know that they do exist so you can have a watch of those things that you are interested
in. One was I got a lot of requests for videos kind of talking about how I use Tarot for
my mental well-being and I have a whole series on that, it is called Therapeutic Tarot, so
if you missed that I will leave a link below and leave it in the cards. I do that intermittently
and I've shared, I think I'm at like eight videos or something now, where I provide quite
explicit, clear activities, or processes, or spreads that I have used for my mental
well-being and my mental health. I had someone ask me about my Which Lilith? book, and I
have done a book review on that as well so I'll leave that in the description box, a
link to that. I had people asking for vlogs and I did do vlogmas a year and a bit ago,
so December 2016. I do the occasional vlog since then, I did one for my birthday in September.
I had a couple of people requesting a bookshelf tour, I did do that during vlogmas, so a bit
over a year ago, obviously things have changed but you know not so much that I feel like
I need to redo that video, quite a number of my books have stayed the same. So I'll
leave a link to that, that was a fun video to film, I filmed it late at night because
I couldn't sleep and I just tidied my room, so that's a fun video if you're interested.
I also had a couple of people saying that they would like for my readings there to be
an option for a subscription, especially with the letter, the snail mail readings that I
do. And I actually do offer that, I have a listing for a three or a six month reading
option where I will send you a reading each month for that period of time, so that's a,
that's a fun option that is available. Another question that I asked was things that I could
improve on, suggestions for improvements. Now I did recognise that you know I wouldn't
be able to incorporate all of these improvements when I ask the question, or perhaps some of
them I wouldn't even want to, you know this this survey was not designed to completely
guide or you know determine where I went with this channel, it was more just to get some
ideas, and so I really appreciate your input, but some of these obviously either I just
can't do or I won't be doing. I had a few people suggesting getting lighting and that's
just not going to happen any time in the foreseeable future, partly because it's a cost that you
know I just can't justify as far as my YouTube channel is concerned, and also softbox lights
are very big and my apartments very small, and ring lights show up a lot of glare in
glasses so you know not neither of those options really work for me. And a few people asking
if I could change the angle that I do you know face down videos at cards, and that's
another thing that I really don't I don't know that I can come up with a better solution
than I have at the moment without investing quite a bit in a fancy, a fancy overhead tripod.
So as far as equipment, I kind of do the best with what I have, and I'm pretty sure the
people who were recommending those things are aware of that, so thank you for the input,
just kind of an FYI, I don't think those things will be changing anytime soon. A lot of you
suggesting live videos, which is something I'm considering, I'm having a bit of a think
about how I can implement that for myself. I had someone quite upset that I had moved
on the Glastonbury Tarot. There's not much I can do about that, just didn't work for
me. And then I had a kind of a final box for you to write what you wanted as well as putting
your details in for the giveaway, and a lot of those comments were really nice, so thank
you, that was it was really quite touching reading through all of those comments. I had
a number of you saying that you very often don't see the videos that I upload, like you
won't get notified, or they won't come up in your subscription box or whatever, and
so you'll discover that I made a video several months after the fact. There is the option
to next to the subscribe button, you can turn on the little bell, so if you click that as
well as being subscribed then apparently - you won't always get notified - but you should
get notified, especially if you're interacting with my channel quite a bit, you will get
notified when I upload. So if you're super keen on watching my videos and you like to
kind of seeing them you know when they're uploaded that it that is a good to hit the
notification bell. I had a lot of you requesting that I introduce video readings into the shop
and I can appreciate it why you've asked because I really quite enjoy video readings from the
people that I order readings from. but I don't think that that will be happening anytime
soon. There's a few reasons for that, a really big one is the fact that my apartment small
and my partner does shift work, so it can be really quite difficult for me to film regularly.
That's why you'll see me wearing the same clothes for several videos, because I tend
to try and film roughly two weeks worth of videos in one go, so I just don't see how
that would really work you know kind of keeping up with videos and getting them out to you
in a timely manner. I'm not sure how that would work, just simply in my house and with
my partner and stuff. But if that ever changes, you guys will be the first to know because
I do I do recognise that that would be really cool, but for now it's just snail mail and
PDF email readings. I had a lot of you very kindly saying that you enjoy the fact that
my videos, the editing is quite tight and so there's not a whole lot of rambling. which
is, along with my reviews, something that I I kind of I don't take pride in, but I really
try to focus on, you know this video will take me at least twice as long to film as
it will end up being, and the reason I do that is because I just basically, I respect
your time, and I value your time. Like I know that you guys are busy and if I can edit a
video down to 15 minutes or 10 minutes as opposed to having a half-hour video that is
just full of 'ums' and 'ahs' and rambles I will do that because I know that your time
is very valuable. So that's why I edit so kind of cleanly, is because that's important
to me that I say as much as I can in the shortest amount of time for you. So I'm glad that you
guys enjoy that. And finally the last thing that people were talking about, I had a lot
of people saying that basically apologising for the fact that they are lurkers and don't
comment a whole lot, a lot of you are saying things like 'I've watched your videos for
ages I love your videos and it's great, sorry I haven't commented or I don't comment a whole
lot'. And basically I just wanted to say to you guys that thank you for being here, thank
you for watching. You know of course I would love it if you would comment and kind of I
mean it helps out the channel but also it just it's nice to know the people who are
watching you know and kind of start to have a bit of a chat with you, or even just know
that you're there that's really nice I do like that that's part of what makes YouTube
so fun is the comments and interacting with each other. But ultimately you know you don't
have to apologise, I think just the fact that you were here is wonderful and I understand
there are all sorts of reasons that people don't comment. I don't comment on every video
that I watch but you know, whether it's because you don't have a youtube account, or you know
you just don't have the time, or whatever it is, don't apologise if you don't have time
or the inclination or whatever to comment. It's just wonderful that you're here. Congratulations
to Tracy and I look forward to writing you up a little snail mail reading! Again thank
you to everyone who filled out the survey and until next time, so much love, bye!

Laser Machine Maintenance: Mirrors, Lenses & More (2018) - Duration: 27:39.
Oh Welcome to another Lightblade Learning Lab, spring is in the air. It's
time we had a bit of a clean-up of the machine, do you know how difficult it is
to tie a bow behind your back? Now let's get serious for a minute, if you can take
me seriously dressed like this! You've got to love your machine, this machine
not only needs a spring clean but it needs some regular maintenance and attendance.
If you serve it well it will serve you well, so today what we;'re going to do is go
through a little bit of a maintenance routine. Oh goodness me! Now I'm giving
you the impression that I only clean this machine once a year, not true, it
requires constant attention in some areas. Now other places you can leave and
just check it occasionally, so today we'll go through in no particular order
of importance the sort of things you should be doing and maybe the frequency
with which you should be taking a look at them. Let's start from the busy end of the
machine then shall we? Okay so drop the table out the way for
the moment. Just recently I've been making our top-secret rubber stamp if
you remember,
and that in itself produces dust because although the rubber or whatever the
rubber binding material goes away, evaporates. It leaves a powdery filler
material behind and as you can see it's, it's left quite a lot of debris around
on the outside of the nozzle. Now if it's done that to the outside of the nozzle, I
wonder what it might have done to the inside of the nozzle? So one of the first
things we'll do is we'll start taking a look at what's happening at the bottom
end of the system here and to do that I've got to release the autofocus pen
and we'll take the lens and nozzle assembly out and let's have a look to see what's
inside. It's always worth having a look down inside there from time to
time despite the fact you might think there's no chance of muck and debris
getting down in there we've got a hole in the top here and hey have I got a
cobweb or a spider in there? Hmm that's interesting, we'll take a look at that in
a minute, because I only checked that about a week
ago. This is something that I do and you should do very regularly, take a look
inside and oh my goodness me, can you see that lens? Look at much frostiness there
is on that lens now that is a really, really bad sign. If you run your machine
with high power with that amount of debris on the lens
there's a possibility that you could do quite serious damage to your lens. In the
centre there, there is an area which is a different colour to that round the
outside, that's the beginning of something pretty bad.
That is debris that is being burnt onto the face of the lens there, now this lens
is covered with an anti-reflection coating. The infrared rays will actually
hit that solid material and heat it up and so they'll be heating up one face of
the lens, particularly the centre part of the lens and that material will start to
get burnt onto the coating.
Not only does it get burnt onto the coating but it
also reduces the efficiency of the light being transmitted through the lens. So I
cannot explain to you how crucial it is to keep your lens clean! I would hope
that your machine was supplied to you with one of these standard Thinklaser
lens cleaning kits, but if you didn't get one of these kits then make sure at
least you have some of these components that you can buy cheaply. You can buy
this material which is called isopropyl alcohol, I happen to have bought it in a
spray form like this, it's about six or seven pounds it's not a fortune, but it's
worth its weight in gold. Now you'll also be supplied with something called
acetone, I buy acetone in one litre containers, I use it for other purposes
as well but the one thing you mustn't use it for is your lens. We should go
back to this isopropyl alcohol and we will do some work on the lens. Now you'll
also be supplied with some rubber gloves, I don't know which is more
dangerous? You handling the lens and putting finger marks on the lens or the
lens which is basically a toxic material underneath a coating, which obviously
makes it less toxic? So whichever way you like to look at it, the sensible thing to
do is to wear some gloves that are provided. Now there are
some other useful things in this kit which we will talk about later on, but
we've got the two essential things out at this moment
in time, which is the cotton wool bud and the isopropyl alcohol and there's one
further item that comes in the pack which is absolutely essential and that's
called a lens cleaning tissue. Now as part of your maintenance kit, something
else I would recommend that you have, you can get these from all sorts of places; tool
shops, you'll be able to buy them online from ebay or somewhere and that is a two
and a half millimeter drill. This hole in the end of the nozzle here, there's just
as important as anything else. I know it's just a hole but it needs to be
clean and it needs to be the right size. Now we will clean that nozzle up before
we put it back on but at the moment I'm not going to do that what we're going to
do is to take a look at that lens. Now in your kit you'll also find that you've
got one of these, which is a lens removal tool. Now you can I make a prudent
suggestion before you do any work on lenses do it on a soft surface. I'm
putting some tissues down on there and there's three or four layers of tissues
because if you drop this lens onto a hard surface, depending on what sort it
is, it can chip or shatter. It might look like glass and it is a glassy material
but it's not mechanically very strong. We shall need to unscrew the retaining cap.
Now the lens has come out stuck to the retaining screw because the retaining
screw itself has got an o-ring on it and the o-ring tends to stick the lens to it.
So there we go, we've got the lens out now. Okay, now this is manufactured
slightly undersized here so that you can open it up and pick up your lens like
that. Now you can clamp the lens and get to
both sides of it without doing any damage to your hands, because you're not
holding any toxic materials, but the more important thing is you're gripping this
lens tightly around the outside. So you don't have to put it on your hand or
anything to do the cleaning process. Now do not use anything other than this
isopropyl alcohol for cleaning your lens and just do small circular motions away
from the centre
and then when you let it dry and you can blow on it... you'll see that as you
blow on it...
it leaves a nasty little film behind. Well let's not worry about that film for
a moment, we'll do the other side. Now this is the side where we potentially
are in the process of burning on some debris. Now as you can see as I hold that
up to the light, I have given it just a quick wipe over, but that quick wipe over
has not removed the debris off the centre. So we're going to need to do it
gently, I've just left it for a few minutes, the
isopropyl alcohol and if you look you'll see that it has started to soften
the material that's in the centre there and again with a few careful motions,
circular motions,
we should be able to and just there, look there are a couple of, can you see the
debris that's on there? Look.
There are a couple of spots there which are really quite hard to take off,
I'm not really scrubbing it, I'm just making circular motions gently
and that's why I've got this long stick so that I just can't press too hard on
it. This is where we need our cleaning tissue, because we now have to very
carefully clean the surface to remove the film. Now we do the same to the top side
side as well.
Now to put the lens back in, here's what I recommend you do...
There's the screw fitting there with its, with its tightening notches. Put the
o-ring on top and with the flat side or the flatter looking side, because if you,
if you want to check whether or not you've got a meniscus lens fitted to
your machine, the best thing to do is to put it up against a line of text
like this and try and read the text backwards. If the text is distorted and
it's not in a straight line across the middle of your lens, it means you've got
a concave surface on the bottom for your lens and that is something called a
meniscus lens, but whether it's concave or flat you need to put that side face
down to the o-ring. So we'll drop that back on to the o-ring now, make sure
first of all as we said that it's clean down the inside there and if you look in
there you can see... oh look! I've got some cobwebs or some debris or something
inside there which I need to remove. Don't attempt to put this in, or drop the
lens in there. Put the tube on top of the lens,
and you can then pick it up as I've done here with my finger. Try and keep it
upside down as well like this, because you've got a rubber glove on you'll find
it very easy to sit the thread on your rubber glove and screw it in. That will
make sure that the lens sits flat all the time that it's going in. Carry on
doing it until it just begins to get a bit stiff. Your lens is now more or less
home, so all you then need to do is just apply a very small amount of twist and
you can feel the o-ring starting to bite and as soon as you get some resistance
stop! Just make sure the lens doesn't rattle, so you'll know that the lens is
nice and tight in its seating. Now we don't need this isopropyl alcohol at the
moment, so we'll put the lid on because it does evaporate.
We don't have anymore lenses to play with, so we can now put this back in the
toolkit. This has got some debris on it, we don't
need that anymore so we'll throw that away
and look at the state of that nozzle. There could be all sorts of debris on
there and so this is where we need something fairly aggressive and acetone
is nicely aggressive. It's far too aggressive for lenses because it might
damage the coating, the anti reflection coating that's on the lens, but when it
comes to something like this, look, hey it does a great job of cleaning
up your nozzle. Now those of you of a sensitive disposition please look away
because some people can't can't stand this scratching, especially with a
fingernail. I've let this nozzle get into a little bit of a state and I suppose I
should have done this a little bit more often, because it's outside the Machine
and it doesn't really affect the performance of the machine it's just one
of those love and care things. Before you destroy this lovely little cotton wool
bud, you can use some acetone and clean down the inside of the nozzle as well,
because I'll guarantee that when we take this cotton wool bud out of here you
will be horrified.
Look, it's absolutely minging and
yeah, we've pushed all sort of debris down to the bottom there and with a bit
of luck maybe the other end of that stick will pass nicely through our
nozzle hole. Just clean it down the inside there with a little bit of tissue
as well. So we've now sorted the business end of the machine. Now before I put that
back, now there are a couple of other things that are supplied in your kit.
We've got a torch and we've got an inspection mirror. We can shine the torch
upwards just stand on the deck like that and we can take a look in here at the
mirror. Now look you can see that that mirror in there is not looking crisp and
clean it's looking a little bit on the hazy side. We will use some acetone,
because these mirrors in here are made of metal called molybdenum, they are
basically almost bulletproof . You can, you will find it very difficult to scratch
them, but still treat them like a baby's bottom,
very gently please. We might be using quite an aggressive solvent on this, but
even so
don't go mad there's the film that's come off of the face of the mirror.
Acetone will leave a film on the mirror, again with your lens tissue just try and
give it a gentle clean all over. Well I think you can now begin to see the torch
itself, the bright light of the torch so that is no longer cloudy that mirror. If
you've got any doubt at all, you'll have to take that mirror out and give it a
thorough clean, but I'm happy that that mirror is in pretty good condition. Now
that's the most difficult mirror to access, all the other mirrors now are going
to be pretty easy to do and there's our number two mirror and as you can see
it's not in tip-top condition. I haven't really been looking after that have I?
One of the things to note is that if the mirror is dirty you will get debris
burnt onto the surface, this is only just a very gentle haze on here so it's not
really a major problem a little bit of acetone on that mirror
will fix it. I haven't got to go too hard,
I'll give it a final polish with some lens tissue and there we go, I think
we've got a fairly clean mirror there now and here we are at the back of the
machine I'm going to clean mirror number one.
Now after mirror number one, there's one more important thing that we must do and
it's probably one of the main reasons why you've been given this inspection
mirror because it's difficult to see and because it's difficult to see, it's
probably something that you might well easily forget. Now here's our laser tube
just in the back of this brass piece here, that's a plain piece of zinc
selenide which is partially mirrored on one side that lets the laser light out
of your machine. So that's just as important as any one of your lenses if
you get material burnt onto the face of that "window" let's call it, then that,
that debris will heat up and it will crack that window. Now I've actually seen
this happen where somebody has actually managed to produce smoke in this area
and they have managed to occlude that lens. If you let it get like this picture
check the cracks out behind the debris, you've basically cost yourself a lot of
money, it's a new tube. Now only ever use
isopropyl alcohol on this particular window, it's quite difficult for me to
get you a good picture to look in there but let's just see if we can do it, There
is just the merest haze on the front face, just the merest haze which wouldn't
normally worry me but what I'm going to do in this particular instance is just
remove it. Better safe than sorry, it's going to be difficult to get to and you
might well have to break one of your cotton wool buds down so that you can
get to it be very very gentle with your actions.
So as we can see there's a little hint of yellow on the tip of that bud.
So we'll just poke some tissue in there we'll put the cotton wool bud in behind
it, so now we've got a lovely clean exit window on the tube itself. Okay so we've
done one of the major maintenance jobs which is the beam path and that's
something you should check as I said fairly regularly, the mirrors are not
quite so bad you can check those visually every week or so. The lens is
very important because you should check that probably every day almost or every
time before you use the machine, depending on how much you use the
Machine of course, but it's worthwhile just dropping the lens out and having a
quick look at it. The window on the laser tube, the chances are that you only need
to keep an eye on that with a casual inspection maybe once a month, once every
two months. After the beam path what's the next most important thing? Well
people say to me what about the slide ways? What should I do for the slide
ways? How can I see, how can I protect them and grease them and oil them? Well
to be honest, almost the best things you can do with those is nothing!
Now inside these bearings here, we've got not only lithium grease which is
basically on the recirculating ball track that's inside here
they've also got a flexible front here this red front along with something else
that's in there an even more flexible part, which is basically a wiper blade
that keeps these surfaces and particularly the surface here where the
bearings run. Keeps those clean and wiped and if we take a look at the end of my
slide way here you'll see what I mean. Can you see how the grease and debris
has collected just here here and here where I've driven the head along? I would
fairly regularly go along them and give them a nice wipe, make sure you keep all
the dirt and debris away from the rails. Now this is a personal opinion, but it's
what I've been doing on my machines for the last two and a half years and I
haven't seen any signs of wear at all, so that's my advice.
It is possible to get grease into these bearings but these bearings are supposed
to be packed with grease for life so the great thing about a system like this it
has been well engineered.
Although I've just said to you don't put anything on the rails, I'm lying slightly,
because I do use this. Now this is a dry film molybdenum lubricant and I don't
spray it on the rails but what I do I spray it onto a tissue and I wipe it
along the rails that way I've got a dry protective film that doesn't attract
dust and dirt
and the molybdenum disulphide is basically a dry, a dry lubricant. So it's
not doing any harm and it's giving my rails a certain amount of protection. Now
the X-axis is a little bit more difficult to get to because you can't get to it
easily all the way, but just do the best you can along the front and the back.
So that's all I would recommend you do to your rails. Now you know how much I'm
in love with this thing, not very! Don't forget the obvious things,
keep the place clean. I've been doing a lot of work with powdery stuff, things
like granite, slate, the rubber which has got some compound in it. Oh yes, we did
Corian as well and look it doesn't take much for all this debris to build up in
the machine. Here we are, this is just a little love and respect for your machine.
Let's not forget somewhere, where we don't look very often. Take out the big pieces.
Now if you did follow my advice and make a pre-filter pre-filter then we need
to make sure that we keep this clean as well and this is the sort of thing you just
could, just open this front door and you can check this very easily once every
week, two weeks just to see whether it is clogging up. Because I've been doing the
rubber and the granite engraving. Particularly the rubber engraving the
powdery stuff has collected on the front here, this would normally be brown if I
was doing wood cutting or MDF cutting or something like that. So we're gonna take
this out and all we do is just literally this. it comes out. Look how much stuff has
collected on the surface there. Can you see that, now that would have all gone
and started choking up the primary filter in the Purex unit. Now the primary
filter in the Purex unit is an expensive item to replace, what we're going to do
now is for less than a pound. So I will just undo the four screws and we take
this element off and there we go we can see how much
debris has collected on this filter element look at it,
and look I brought all this for about three or four pounds. Now we don't have
to be too special about this, because all we're going to do is to make it that
size, just quick crop the corners off where the, where the screws are going to
go. It does not have to be an artwork because nobody is going to see it. It's
going to save you pounds
and there we go it's all clamped around the outside now. Then we can just pop it back
into place.
What have we got to do on here? This is nothing to do with maintenance, well
you're absolutely right. We don't have to touch this keypad but what I would
suggest you do is that from time to time you press the file button and take a
look at how many files you've got in your filing system. You'll see that it
says one at the top there, click up to the top go backwards and see how many
files you've got in there at the moment I've got 25. I used to have 99, manage
your filing system on the machine, because if you get more than 99, I'm not
sure that will actually take 100. I think it stops at 99 files and says the
machine has gone wrong, it presents some sort of strange message which tells
you there's no file space available. Take a look at the files that you've got
stored in here that you're unlikely to need or they were on-offs. Throw them
away, space in this file system is at a premium so just make sure you include
this as part of your regular, maybe once a month, once every 2 or 3 months you'll
come in here and just throw away the stuff you don't want.
I now have got in a habit of after I've used a file that I know I'm only going
to use once, I immediately delete it. There are other things you can check
from time to time things like belt tensions, but to be honest they're not
the sort of thing that are likely to change very much. Well, as I've mentioned
to you several times before this is a nicely engineered machine and really it
doesn't need much maintenance. If you have a Purex or a BOFA
recirculating filter unit, you only have to keep an eye on the display and it
tells you whether or not you need to change your filters or whether a filter
change coming up. So there's nothing you can do about that, you have to wait for
the unit to tell you. This machine you can be proactive with your maintenance
and as I said to you, you need to keep an eye on particularly, the lens and the
nozzle. That's where your major problems are going to occur.
That's something you should do very regularly,
I can't say what very regularly means because it depends on the use that you
put your machine to. If you're using it in production then I would check that
lens once at least a day and maybe twice a day at break times. Well, there's not much
more I can tell you about the maintenance of this machine because
there isn't much more to maintain. Thank you very much for your time and I'll
catch up with you in the next session.

make your own polymer clay buttons design 1 - Duration: 6:38.
feeling a little art craft crazy, hi I'm Donna from art craft crazy this
tutorial is How to make your own Polymer Clay Button, design one. it's an easy
button to make if you can cut an oblong shape, you can make this button. I
actually bought this particular button that cost AU six dollars 99. would you
really pay that much for a button? it just was no, no! I couldn't do it. start by
kneading the polymer clay... I'm using black today, but you can't. Just buy fimo
effect in metallic gold and then just roll it out to about two millimeters
thick. I've just got some baking paper on my rolling pin so I don't contaminate it,
because I use it for cooking and when I thought about it I could have just laid
a little piece over the clay so roll it out to about two millimeters thick you
can use a razor blade or a craft knife to cut your shape I'm going to use a
purpose-built polymer clay tool it's just a long blade
with a handle on the end and I just push it down and it makes a nice clean cut so
the measurements 16 by 38 millimeter
now I don't pick this up with my fingers because that will distort shape so I
just use my tool to slide under the button so it keeps its shape now from
the center point to the left and right of it I'm poking in my buttonholes it's
just a bamboo skewer and it's quite a thick one and what it does is it makes
certain bulge in the middle a little bit when I push the holes through just tap
that back into shape with your fingers now this button doesn't lay flat it's
got a little bit of a concave shape to it so a little bit of a rounded scoop so
line a baking tray with some foil and preheat it to 230F degrees
we're going to bake this button for 30 minutes so get another piece of foil and
bend it into the shape you want your button to stay in and just sit the
button in that shape so it'll sit in there while you're baking it time's up
once I get it out of the oven I like to put it in some cold water especially
when I've got something that's shaped and I want it to stay in that shape so I
dunk it straight in the cold water and what that will do is it will help it to
stay instantly in the shape that I've got it held into now I've just gone to
my drawer of gold paints and I decided to use the product called gold finger
now I don't need to paint it on it's just a rubbing type of finish now this
was mum so it's quite old so I'm just using my skewer to push down into the
tube it's a little bit crumbly I'm not sure if it's meant to be like this
but when you smooth it out onto the fimo it it's no longer crumbly it's beautiful
and creamy and golden it's actually a lovely finish it looks heaps better in
person than it does on the video and it covers a black really well so just rub
it a little bit goes a long way too so just rub it all over the sides you could
leave the sides black if you if you wanted to highlight them and have a
contrast I didn't cover it super well because I like that little bit of black
shining through just gives it more of an antique look
and I set that up to dry for a little while before I polish it when you polish
it it it becomes even more shiny I'm gonna try this gold figure on other
things you see why it's called golf finger now can you hear all the birds
making a bit of a rumpus outside they're fighting over this birdseed these are
wild birds I don't feed them every day I believe that wild birds should you
know fend for themselves but we've been through a pretty rough season heat waves
and not much rain so every now and again I'll give them a SUP feed all I'm doing
is I'm just buffing it lightly with a makeup pad it's just a little cotton
makeup pad it doesn't take much at all you could use an old t-shirt a rag just
something soft and I only buffed the top you can see how long it took me not long
at all you can use it as an embellishment on
anything you can make them in all different sizes I'm using this button
today as a knob for the top of my Pringles makeup pad dispenser this is
just an idea of what you could use it for I've got a couple of other buttons
and designs to show you as well I'm Donna from our craft crazy thanks for
watching and bye for now
