Youtube daily report Apr 6 2018

The Moon Jae-in administration's multi-billion dollar supplementary budget to reduce the

nation's stubbornly high youth unemployment rate will head to the National Assembly today

for their review.

It's the second extra budget since the start of the less-than-a-year-old Moon administration,...

that is solely for the purpose of creating more jobs.

Kim Hyesung tells us more.

The government has proposed a supplementary budget worth about 3-point-7 billion U.S.

dollars, which will be submitted to the National Assembly Friday for approval.

The extra spending is aimed at tackling South Korea's high youth unemployment, which the

government sees as a developing crisis, and at helping regional economies hit by corporate

restructuring.

The government's goal is to bring youth unemployment down to below 8 percent by 2021, from last

year's 9-point-8 percent, and to create around 50-thousand jobs for young people.

Of the total extra budget, 2-point-7-5 billion dollars are to be used to support small and

mid-sized companies that hire new full-time employees and to subsidize their wages.

There are also tax incentives for new workers and for smaller-sized firms that hire them.

The Finance Ministry said the remaining 950 million dollars will go to domestic automobile

and shipbuilding companies in the restructuring process.

If passed, this would be the second extra budget under President Moon Jae-in.

Last year, the Moon administration formed a 10.5 billion dollar supplementary budget

to create more quality jobs.

South Korea has passed extra budgets every year since 2015; the latest proposal worth

3-point-7 billion dollars would be the smallest one since 2006.

But there's no guarantee this one will pass the National Assembly.

Opposition lawmakers are against it, and the ruling Democratic Party holds just 41 percent

of the body's 293 seats.

Memphis activist who remembers Martin Luther King Jr.'s last days is still fighting - Duration: 6:46.

JOHN YANG: We return to our series of conversations about the life of the Reverend Martin Luther

King Jr., who was murdered 50 years ago this week.

In his final days, Dr. King traveled to Memphis to lend his voice to the city's black sanitation

workers, who were protesting poor working conditions.

By the time he arrived in the city, they had been on strike for more than six weeks.

Fred Davis served as the chair of Memphis City Council's Public Works Committee and

helped negotiate an end to the strike.

He marched with Dr. King and was present for the civil rights leader's final speech before

his assassination, when he declared, "I have been to the mountaintop."

Judy spoke with him before she went to California.

JUDY WOODRUFF: When Dr. King came to Memphis, what was the condition of the sanitation workers?

How were they doing?

FRED DAVIS, Former Chair, Memphis City Council: They were not doing well at all.

They were making less than a dollar an hour.

And they were discriminated against, in the sense that, even at that level, all of the

truck drivers were white.

All of the people who picked up the tubs and took them to the truck were black.

The truck drivers, even though they were not out in the rain and the heat and that kind

of thing, had showers.

The men didn't have showers.

JUDY WOODRUFF: The men who picked up the trash.

FRED DAVIS: The men who picked up the garbage didn't have showers.

Sometimes, the tubs was putrefied when they picked them up.

And all of that stuff was running down on their clothes.

And most of them didn't have enough money to buy a car.

And they would get on public transportation with that kind of smell on them.

I heard one fellow say that, when he got home, his wife made him change clothes outside before

he came in.

And that is the kind of conditions that they were working under.

JUDY WOODRUFF: You were there for that speech that he gave the night before he died.

Tell us about that.

FRED DAVIS: It was a very rainy night.

It was raining cats and dogs.

And the council members came in through the side door.

The place was packed.

There was no capacity.

And I -- since there was no room out in the audience, I climbed up some steps that was

going up to the edge of the stage.

So, that's how I can claim to be sitting on the stage when he made that speech.

JUDY WOODRUFF: But Dr. King came, and you heard the speech.

FRED DAVIS: And Dr. King came in.

There was no papers, no notes, no anything.

He just walked to the stage and started to speak.

MARTIN LUTHER KING JR., Civil Rights Leader: And I have seen the promised land.

I may not get there with you, but I want you to know tonight that we as a people will get

to the promised land.

(CHEERING AND APPLAUSE)

JUDY WOODRUFF: Of course, that was a speech that everyone remembers about Dr. King.

But the next time you came in contact or knew what had happened was when he was shot...

FRED DAVIS: Right.

JUDY WOODRUFF: ... on April the 4th.

FRED DAVIS: We were in a meeting at the Claridge Hotel across the street from city hall.

There were nine of us in that meeting.

And we had determined that we were going to settle the strike that day.

We got a call from city hall, saying, turn the television on.

And when we turned the television on, and we heard what happened, there were three African-American

councilman altogether, but two of us were this that room.

And we came loose.

I mean, it was heavy.

JUDY WOODRUFF: You have remained in Memphis over all these years.

How much harder was it after he was gone?

And yet you keep going.

How?

FRED DAVIS: You have to keep going.

The problem doesn't go away.

As long as you are black in America, you have problems, because it's more intense in some

areas than it is in other areas, but it is there always.

JUDY WOODRUFF: Finally, if someone wants to know, how are the sanitation workers doing

today in Memphis, Tennessee, compared to back in the day, when Martin Luther King was trying

to help them, what would you say?

FRED DAVIS: I say the sanitation workers are doing much better, but there is a way to go.

There has been some progress.

But the heart and the soul of Memphis and the South is slow to change.

And that's what we have to deal with.

And when I say the heart and the soul, I mean the attitudes of the powers that be to change.

One of the thing I have said is that you can't keep a man in a ditch unless you stay in there

with him.

Now -- and that region is noted for the lowest educational attainment, the highest morbidity

and mortality rate, the highest infant mortality rate.

All of these things compound to make life not as good as it could be in those areas.

And we have got to deal with that.

JUDY WOODRUFF: Fred Davis, who was there with Dr. King, working on everything that Dr. King

was working on in 1968, and you are still there fighting the fight.

FRED DAVIS: Absolutely.

JUDY WOODRUFF: Thank you very much.

FRED DAVIS: Thank you.

JOHN YANG: Tomorrow night, we conclude our series with special correspondent Charlayne

Hunter-Gault's conversation with entertainer and King confidant Harry Belafonte.

American actors changed their names to Polish ones - Duration: 4:48.

Bradley Cooper - is Bernard Bednarz

Hi, surprise - today's episode in Polish language

I will add subtitles ...

This episode won't give you too much

It's made for fu n, for humor but I hope it'll give a big smile on your face

Have you ever wondered: What would the names of English-speaking actors sound like if translated into Polish (literally)?

Never?

I fact I haven't too but the idea for that episode appeared in my head

Is somebody already did it (coincidence), it's my idea I didn't copy it.

I've written down a list of 15 English-speaking actors, from States and from the UK.

And I will suggest my versions of their Polish names

Some of these (Polish) names are equivalent of English ones

Some of them have no equivalent so I had to find something similar

I hope the result is good

I will be pronouncing original names and last names of these actors with the Polish accent

So it sounds like that in the Polish language

Somewhere here I will add an explanation

How do you like it?

Klemens Wschodnioleski, he mostly starred in movies about cowboys - so kinda westerns

Tomasz Rejs is well known for example from Mission Impossible

This name Kevin isn't too common in Poland

But sometimes it appears. It would be written with "w" instead of "v"

So Kewin Nabuzowany - this is my proposition

Krystian Bela is known for his movie Batman

For a long time I had a difficulty to match something to the name Gary

Because he have nothing like this in the Polish language

Gary might be for example "Grzegorz" or "Gabriel"

Grzegorz sounds more Polish

What is your best movie with Grzegorz Staruszek?

And take a look how to decline it (Polish cases)

This is Tomasz Wytrzymały, we welcome TomaszA WytrzymałEGO

One of my most favorite

I've heard some of them say "Goosling"

Mr. Rajmund Gąsiątko he's a popular actor

The best role of Jeremiasza Stalowego (in my opinion) is the pope from Borgias

I don't know what to say about this man

I know some of his acting roles but I don't know him too much

There's a popular singer in Poland Andrzej Piaseczny, so Adam P. he might be his brother

And in the end

Why "Wolski"? Because "will" means "wola" in Polish. And it's quite common Polish last name

What is your favorite movie with Bruno Wolski?

So, this is it. If you like this episode, let me know about it.

Next time I can prepare (Polish) singers or some bands and literal translations.

I hope you like it, remember it's just humor but I believe you could find some new words and it might be useful.

Best Wishes! Subscribe and check the description below. I always put something interesting there.

So, that's all :) Bye

BREAKING MUELLER HANDS DOWN MORE INDICTMENTS - Duration: 14:19.

BREAKING: MUELLER HANDS DOWN MORE INDICTMENTS

White House Special Counsel Robert Mueller just made an announcement that is sure to

have Donald Trump swearing.

On Thursday, a grand jury returned a new indictment charging former Trump campaign chairman Paul

Manafort and aide Rick Gates with tax and bank fraud.

The new 32-count indictment that came from a grand jury in Alexandria, Virginia was handed

down after Mueller separately charged the pair in Washington last year with money laundering

and failing to register as foreign agents for their work related to Ukraine.

Politico reported that in the new indictment, Manafort and Gates are accused f dramatically

understating their income on federal tax returns filed from 2010 through 2014.

They are also accused of bank fraud totaling more than $20 million tied to three loans

Manafort applied for in connection with various homes he owns.

The new indictment claims that in total, Manafort and Gates laundered more than $30 million

in income, chiefly from their Ukraine work.

Though Democrats are celebrating this, not one of the charges currently facing the pair

appears to relate directly to the core of Mueller's investigation into alleged Russian

interference in the 2016 presidential election.

Immediately after the indictment was released, Manafort spokesman Jason Maloni released a

statement denying the latest charges.

"Paul Manafort is innocent of the allegations set out in the newly filed indictments and

he is confident that he will be acquitted of all charges," Maloni said.

"The new allegations against Mr. Manafort, once again, have nothing to do with Russia

and 2016 election interference/collusion.

Mr. Manafort is confident that he will be acquitted and violations of his constitutional

rights will be remedied."

Though no new defendant has been charged, the new indictment alleges that the men had

a "conspirator" at at least one of the lenders from which Manafort obtained the loans.
