Halo 4 – Return of the Forerunners (Making VOST) - Duration: 10:41.
Prophet of Truth: "Putting aside our sorrow,
we renewed our faith in the prophecy that other rings would be found.
And see how our faith has been rewarded."
The Covenant used to be the main threat, and it was a MacGuffin in the original Halo series
because the real threat was the Forerunner legacy and the Flood itself.
The Forerunners have been the source of so much mystery throughout the Halo franchise,
it was something that was just fascinating to us.
So far it's been a lot of stumbling into their belongings, y'know, we found Halo's,
and now we found something more; we found the Prometheans.
There's a degree of animalistic fierceness that maybe you didn't see in previous games.
Cortana: "Look out !"
The conditions and the context are what pit a hero and antagonist against each other.
For this game we're gonna get to see a lot of complexity to their civilization.
From their world view what they're doing has to make sense.
Trying to figure out ways to tell that story without interfering
with the shooting aspect of it has been a really challenging thing.
We've gotten glimpses of this Forerunner presence
that was kind of always there open as to whether it would ever erupt, and it did.
We're trying to really take game systems and manipulate them and give them emotional coloring of context.
We wanted to create something that could stand alone and be an enemy that is just as challenging,
just as engaging, as the Covenant has been in the past for Halo.
A lot of that initial discussion was around, if you had this incredibly evolved race,
and they were well beyond humanity, the Covenant, what would that look like ?
MAKING HALO 4 RETURN OF THE FORERUNNERS
The design process for the Prometheans was intriguing, exciting, and then long and painful process.
I think just, 'cause everyone was so invested in what they wanted out of them.
How do you imply something strong, something vertical, something different?
And how could we actually have a global, logical language out of that Forerunner philosophy?
Anybody who's played Halo goes "Okay, Forerunner is the silvery angular stuff with blue lights across it".
That's really the language kind of in a nutshell.
For us, it was important to break that, but still find, kind of like, a mathematical organization.
We had to do a very clear separation of style, shapes, colors right from the start.
I think the Knight's been through almost like fifteen plus iterations of geometry.
This sheet is like, very traditional way of doing brainstorming.
You just do silhouettes, and then we take it, and iterate some more, and more, and more.
We didn't want them to look like monsters, because they're not monsters.
We had a version that looked very demon-y.
These things on his back, they will go together and they will, like, flare out, when the player was being spotted.
We didn't want the Prometheans to look like robots, because they're not robots.
Had a version that looked very thin and spindle-y.
We would see one, and it's like Y'know, that one looks cool,
but it really doesn't convey "commander of the battlefield".
We had other stuff where they could clamp on and have these big,
hulking massive armors on top of them that would really change the variant look.
For us it was important to get into something that people could relate to;
which I think is always going to be a challenge when trying to take the Forerunner language and create a character.
Making sure that his head stood out, that you could see it, that players had the ability to headshot it.
Also-also into animation;
They're able to bring these guys alive and make it feel a believable implausible
and still be very fast and lethal.
The locomotion didn't look heavy enough at one point so we scrapped everything and did it all again.
The Knight's, like, twelve feet tall; so if it doesn't feel heavy and menacing as its walking around, if it doesn't intimidate the player,
then we're not doing our job.
There were not a lot of real-life elements that we could take.
Their joints, they're-some of them are not physically connected.
They're hold up with the space in between them; which is some of the features that the architecture has;
which is big, massive buildings, like, floating: defying gravity.
We wanted to keep some of that mystery, and kind of the unknown in the characters as well.
We even have the little micro-driver arms in here;
and then all the way to where you turn these layers off and: the glowing skull.
We thought it would be more of an impact if it's like a sarcophagus;
it opens up and its showing all this aggression.
There's certain ways to approach fighting an Elite with a group of Grunts, and really what we wanted to do was change that up.
The Covenant are tried-and-true. You know what you're gonna get out of a Grunt,
you know what you're gonna from a Jackal with his shield, the toughness of Elites;
here are the brand-new hooks to the sandbox.
Prometheans are made up of the Knights, the Watchers, and the Crawlers.
One of the big focuses for us
in the design of the Forerunners was to have these different enemy classes that would be able to work together.
Having this dissection so that when the player went into combat
he's sort of tactically evaluating which order to take guys out.
They don't act independantly of each other: you put any combination of them together
and the strategy you need to engage with them is really different.
There are a variety of Knight classes and each one of them is progressively more powerful,
but your base Knight actually starts a little more powerful than an Elite.
But in addition to that we wanted the Knight to have his own set of traits and abilities.
There's all kinds of these special features of each one of these characters that players haven't played in a Halo game before.
You think about basic combat encounter design; a lot of the challenges designers face is how to introduce enemies.
What would a Promethean do if it could bend time, space, form, matter?
Knights can phase in and out of anywhere.
He's able to go anywhere he needs to at any time. Which is something that the Covenant can't do.
Crawlers can walk on walls, walk on ceilings.
If a Knight shield bursts, Crawlers will come rushing at you and try, and like, melee the player: they'll get more aggressive.
These certainly slot into that Grunt-style combatant, and so there was certainly a want to make sure that we get a lot of them on-screen.
If you let too many of them get together they become a really formidable force; one-off: super fun to take out.
All together, its like a pack of feral dogs.
Its mandibles, when it screams, will actually separate and float around in the air while it's howling.
Animation adds so much fresh behavior to this character; very exiting.
The Watcher is definitely a support class.
One of the things we wanted to do with the Forerunner characters
was constantly have them mix up their tactics, make the player react to it.
The Watcher is able to regenerate Knights.
One of the things we needed to do when the Watcher design was coming along was make sure the Watcher would actually fit inside of the Knight;
that bursts out and swap to the actual Watcher asset.
The Watchers are aware of the Knight's damage; they'll protect 'em, they'll catch grenades, so they kinda coordinate their efforts.
The Prometheans feel like the most advanced of the bunch;
they're able to bring all of their technology and wisdm to the battlefield.
With new enemy class comes new weapon class.
We literally concepted, probably,
two hundred weapons for this game before we settled on the half a dozen that went in.
It's kind of like you've got that balance between human's model of what a weapon's like
and the desire to want and try to make something crazy and futuristic.
We tried coming up with this perfect mix of stuff that was still relatable:
you would still identify a weapon as a rifle, or a shotgun, or a submachine gun;
even though they're almost magical.
The Forerunner Scattershot was probably the first one where we really nailed the design on it.
Everybody loves the hinge-action shotgun so we tried doing somethinng like that so that the reload animation
would be to cock it up and then the front half would smash together.
Every time you pick up a Forerunner weapon it forms in your hands.
So that sort of kicked off the component of having these guns form around the player.
So there's that moment of "Oh, what is this gun, what is it doing?" And when it comes into shape it's kinda immediately identifiable.
What makes the Foreruner weapons distinct is that usually they have dual-purpose.
So, for instance, from the bolt pistol you can charge it up and have something that's equivalent to almost like a shotgun blast.
In the case of the Lightrifle we actually experimented with doing dual firing modes.
We tried to make it so it was the best of both worlds with the BR and the DMR.
It works like the Battle Rifle when you're not scoped: it has a little spread, has a three-shot burst;
and it works like the DMR when you are scoped, so it's like a mini-sniper rifle in a way.
It actually changes to a different firing mode where the projectiles are stronger.
One of the big things we really focused on for them was making sure that the weapon doesn't just feel like a chunk of metal
but that it actually has glowing energy that's flowing through the gun, going down the barrel, so that everything is very full of life.
The moment where all the Promethean effects really started to click the most was when we started showing the dissolve whenever you kill a Knight.
That was when we really started to feel "Yes, this is something cool, this is something unique and something that we haven't really seen before".
This is an early prototype of the Knight de-res.
As the spere expands yoou see the particles are birthed,
and everything in the red region you see will be the crack and the erode.
When you shoot and kill the Knight the actual point on the body where you did the damage is where the dissolve starts.
So if you shoot from his foot he will de-res from the point of his foot up.
The end result: when we blow up a Knight, they dissolve : proving that the technology works.
I look at the changes that we're making,
and it really feels like we're making a sequel to Halo 3.
And that's exactly what we're setting out to do.
We have the Covenant from previous games, we have the UNSC,
we have all these things to take from like, "Alright, we can make a new take on this,"
but we had zero information to some of this Forerunner stuff.
We're not just on a Halo, we're on a whole planet now.
We're not just threatening one corner of the galaxy, we're threatening everything.
We're listening to the fan feedback,
we're incrementally evolving aspects of the game design,
but there's nothing really revolutionary
and I think that's important because I think really good design is evolutionary not revolutionary.
Yeah, I think at some points we got into our heads with this game that "we're just gonna make another Halo".
I don't think that's what people want,
they may think they want that but what they really want is something that speaks the things that they love but then provides them with something new.

Let's talk :D - Veru important information +SPEEDPAINT - Duration: 7:15.
I did a video about 50 facts about Julius and then has changed canon
Hello, friends, I'm Julia and this video will be very important information so inspect video at least for the start of speedpaint.
So it's global redesign
That is, I completely change the characters and the canon.
And so that you, watching my vids, don't run in panic with the words "WHO IS IT", I'll explain everything here.
Well, firstly, if you were sitting in my public, then you should be aware of this,
But not everyone can be a genius, unfortunately
And secondly, I do a lot of unnecessary refs for unnecessary characters, and so when I submited them to DeviantArt, many would confuse them
Okei, let's start
In general, here is my main OS, now she is
a cat
She's name is Asya, yess
In principle, you can read everything, pausing, while I show the other characters, Asya's friends-classmates
okei, now i'll explain you what's how
In general, now these characters will not. They simply don't exist.
Because they were then my main canon, but it was replaced by these dudes.
Julius will remain, but will not be as the main OC, but as the image of the "author", ie as a kind of deity, which draws that canon yes
And my persona will remain, like Meet the artist, ie, not at all used, like, just meet the artist, nothing special.
Yes, so let's talk about canon
He will not appear written immediately, as I did with julius, he will be released here, in the form of such a "series", if I may so express it, *laugh*, let's call it a video journal, okay?
Parts will be for 3-5 minutes and will be laid out extremely rarely, since it is not yet finalized, and when the concept appears, then I will release it... every 3 years.
I will also be there on the animation a little hacking, not like in memes, and in general, the bulk of the content here will consist of memes.
Sort of figured out. Do not be angry if you loved that canon, I also love it, but it was done for my benefit and for my good.
Well okei, goodbye! Oh and also happy Easter! ^_^

The Open Mind: Democrats vs. Authoritarians - Yascha Mounk - Duration: 28:37.
HEFFNER: I'm Alexander Heffner, your host on
The Open Mind. Today we continue our examination
of the deepening battle between democrats and
Authoritarians with a leading scholar of
government Yaschica Mounk. He's a lecturer on
government at Harvard University, and a senior
fellow at the New America Foundation. A columnist at
Slate and the host of "The Good Fight" podcast, Mounk
studies the rise of populism and the ascent of
illiberal democracies. "The People vs. Democracy"
his new book "provides an acute analysis of the rise
of these nationalist movements, and the
challenges to our democracy." That's the
review of Francis Fukuyama. And while he may
have redeemed himself in a string of mea-culpas,
we're counting three decades ago, when Fukuyama
tragically predicted, maybe naively predicted
the endpoint of mankind's ideological evolution as
western liberal democracy, a final form of human
government. Not so, as Mounk and I are here to
discuss, a pleasure being with you Sir.
MOUNK: My pleasure.
HEFFNER: Is it that the democrats in
effect have embraced totalitarianism?
MOUNK: Well what we are seeing is that people are much
less committed to the form of government than they used
to be. I think in the period in which there was
really rapid increase of living standards for
average people, in which democracies were the most
powerful, the most prestigious countries in
the world. It was very tempting to think, well
people have this very deep commitment to the ideals
of our political system, two individual rides,
two collective selves rule, and we're never going to
deviate from that. Well what we've seen over the
past decades is a really rapid change in that.
So what I show in my research and in the book is that
actually people give much less importance to living
in a democracy than we once did. In the United
States, over two thirds of Americans used to say it's
absolutely crucial to me to live in a democracy,
now less than one third do. And they're even becoming
more open to authoritarian alternatives to democracy.
So twenty years ago, one in 16 Americans said they
were open to army-rule. Now it's one in six.
HEFFNER: Those are consistent surveys that you've
found in America. In other western democracies
as well, or is this a specific American phenomenon?
MOUNK: So this isn't happening in every single country
in the world, but it is happening in most of them.
When you ask a question like, what do you think of a
strongman ruler who doesn't have to bother
with parliament and elections? A pretty clear
alternative to democracy. You have, Germany,
where 20 years ago, 16 percent were in favor of such a system,
and now it's 33 percent. You have France and the
United Kingdom, where twenty years ago 25
percent of people were in favor of this, and now
it's one in two, it's 50 percent. Now look,
it's difficult to know how to interpret those surveys.
Right, who knows what people say about them.
The fact they have changed over time is worrying,
but it's difficult to know exactly what they mean.
But it goes beyond that. You see the rise of
political parties that actually break with the
most basic rules and norms of a democratic system.
Politicians who say, I'm gonna leave you in
suspense about whether I'll accept the outcome of
this election. I think my adversary should be sent
to jail. I think judges are enemies of the
American people, in your position are traitors. You
may know who I'm referring to here in this country,
but there's very similar forces on the rise in many
countries in Western Europe and Eastern Europe
and Asia. So just looking at Europe, the average
virtue of a populist party in the year 2000 was 8
percent. Now it's 25 percent, so it's...
HEFFNER: You document a worrisome trend. And you
allude to the American President. We hope that the
public opinion that shows the President at a
historically low approval is an indication, is
emblematic of the fact that he is testing
democratic norms, or violating democratic norms in
a way that the public recognizes and ultimately there
may be a test of that in these 2018 midterm elections.
MOUNK: So perhaps so, I personally hope so,
but I think it's important to recognize how
much more norm breaking, how much more rule
breaking politicians can apparently do, while
getting away with it. So despite all of his
breaking of democratic norms, Donald Trump was
electing President of this country. And when you look
at the reasons why he's now unpopular, and by the
way he's not as unpopular as we sometimes like to
believe, he's quite unpopular but not crazy
unpopular, his approval ratings at the moment on
aggregates below about 40 percent. When we look at
why he's popular it's partially because it's an
incredibly chaotic administration, he has
actually delivered for his base. He's not been very
consistent in his rhetoric. When we look at
authoritarian populists like Vicktor Orban in
Hungary, like Jaroslaw Kaczynski in Poland, like
Recep Erdogan in Turkey, like Narendra Modi in
India, they have broken democratic norms as well,
but because they are smart, disciplined,
political leaders who know how to build their base
and expand it, they are very very popular at this
point. So I think if Trump had followed in their
footsteps more carefully, which in some ways
thankfully he hasn't, he might've gotten away with
a lot more than he has.
HEFFNER: Yascha, what happened?
There was this consensus, and Fukuyama
writes about it, but it was broader than Fukuyama
that liberal democracy was the answer, and liberal
democracy did not actually have a particular
attachment to what we traditionally conceive of
as a liberal or conservative agenda in this country.
And now you mention Hungary, Turkey, there is a wave of
not only acceptance of illiberal democracy,
but almost asserting that illiberal democracy is
still democracy. How did we get here?
MOUNK: Yeah. Well first of all I want to defend
Francis Fukuyama a little bit because it sometimes,
well first of all people misread the title of his book
and think that Fukuyama thought there would no longer
be any political revolutions, any wars, that's never what
he said. And secondly I think that he really encapsulated in
the most brilliant way, a view that was much, much
more widespread. So political scientists who
would never have used the term 'the end of history',
nevertheless believed that democracies would've
changed governments with free and fair elections a
couple of times and, but it would rarely be affluent,
but have more than about 14 thousand
dollars two people capita, are safe, but we don't
have to worry about their fate. That turned out to
be wrong in in a tragic way and we have to
understand why. Now my guide to this is a very
silly story by a philosopher called
Bertrand Russell, which he taught a hundred years ago.
And Russell said, picture a chicken on a farm.
It's a nice kind of chicken, you know of a kind of
organic chicken we'd like to find now, it runs
around in the farm, talks to the other animals.
The other animals are saying, be careful. The farm owner
only seems nice, one day he's gonna come and kill you.
Chicken says, what— what are you talking about?
Says well he's nice to me, he always gives me food,
he mutters some encouraging words.
But Russell points out, one day the farmer does come
and wring the chickens neck, showing that more
sophisticated views as to the uniformity of
causation would've been to a chickens benefit. Now,
what does he mean by that? What he means is that
there are background conditions to political
developments. For democracy it was stable as
long as lots of things were true. Just as the
farmer had a reason to feed the chicken as long
as it was too think for the market. Once its
background conditions change, once the chicken
is fat enough for the market, the behavior
changes. So we need to ask a chicken question: how is
the past different from the current conditions of
democracy? And I think there's at least three
important ways in which that is now true.
The first is, that there's always been a very rapid
increase in living standards for every
citizens in the stable democracies of the world.
From 1945 to 1960, the living standard for the
average American doubled. From 1960 to 1985,
it doubled again. Well, since 1985 it's essentially been flat,
it's been stagnant. That really makes a big
difference in how people think about the politics.
They used to say, I don't know if I love politicians,
I don't know if I trust them completely, but in the end,
you know what, I'm twice as rich as my parents were,
kids are gonna be twice as rich as me,
let's give 'em the benefit of a doubt. Now a lot of 'em
are saying, I worked really hard all my life,
I don't have much to show for it, let's try something new.
How bad can things get? Now, a second reason I think has
to do with a cultural transformation.
Most democracies when they were founded, were either
thinking of themselves as mono-ethnic, mono-cultural
countries, which it was very clear that somebody
who's black somebody who's Latino, somebody who's
Muslim or Hindu could not be quote-unquote a true
German or Italian or Swede. Well after decades
of immigration we've thankfully changed that
conception, overcome some of those notions, a lot of
people embrace that transformation, as do I,
but it's perhaps not surprising that there's
also people who feel like that change is what,
how they thought of their own nation, it challenges the
advantages we used to have over others, and so
they're upset about it. In the United States,
we've always had a multiethnic country, but it's always
been a multi-ethnic country with a strict
racial hierarchy. And so as we're starting to
challenge that and overcome that,
this country is a much better place for minorities to
live than twenty or forty years ago, thank god.
There's also a massive resistance against it from
the people who have something to lose in this process.
HEFFNER: Ultimately, Yascha, there seems to be
a willful amnesia on the part of some of our elected
office holders, who refuse to acknowledge that earlier
era of totalitarianism or authoritarianism.
That's gonna cost us, we're not sure how much yet.
Do you have an estimation of how much it will?
MOUNK: Well I mean...
HEFFNER: I'm talking about Mitch McConnell,
and Paul Ryan in particular in this country,
and those leaders in the countries you mentioned,
who have abstained in effect...
MOUNK: Yep.
HEFFNER: As they see democracy torn apart.
MOUNK: Look the Constitution gives us all of the tools
we need in order to defend our political institutions,
but the Constitution can't defend itself, it's a
sheet of paper. And it relies on flesh and blood
human beings to bring it to life. And one of the
shocking things of the past two years is the
number of flesh and blood human beings, who against
their convictions in many cases, against their
better knowledge, have proven to be cowards,
who are willing to put the powers and interest of
some you don't even particularly like over the
interests of the country. And that is very, very
concerning. Now, I mean part of this is because we
failed to talk enough about the importance of
our political institutions. Political thinkers from Plato to
Aristotle and from Machiavelli to the Founding Fathers
have always emphasized the importance of passing our
political ideals from one generation to the next.
And we've neglected to do that in a serious way.
We barely teach civics in high schools these days.
When we do it's mostly learning facts off by
heart or criticizing all of the things that are
wrong with our country. Of which there is many
things, and it's fine to talk about them, but we
also have to talk about what's worthwhile about
our ideals. As a result people have barely any
knowledge of their own political system.
They don't understand what values are at stake, and
they certainly don't have an imagination as our parents and
grandparents did of what it would mean to live
under communism, to live under fascism, of what life
today looks like in Venezuela, in Russia, in Iran, in China.
HEFFNER: You write "for the foreseeable future,
nationalism is likely to remain a defining,"
or I might argue "the defining force," and you argued in
this New York Times op-ed which is from the book that liberals,
or those who advocate liberal democracy have to
take ownership of nationalism. I thought that was such an
important expression. Because nationalism is not
nativism. And you can be nationalist without being
nativist, expound please.
MOUNK: Yeah, so look I think what we see at the moment
is a very strong ethnic nationalism in Europe, or a
white nationalism in the United States that says what it
is to be a true American is to be descended you
know broadly speaking from the pilgrims, right? Is to
be white, is to be Christian. And you see a
very similar movement in Europe, which is saying
people who are coming from Turkey, from Syria, from
Africa, they certainly will never belong to our
country. Our country is defined ethnically,
by descent from one ethnic group. Now, I think we
have to fight against that, and fight for
inclusion of people of different colors and
creeds in our country. But the temptation is to say
well that's what the right is pushing, that's what
the nationalism that is politically potent at the
moment looks like. But let's overcome nationalism.
And there's two ways of overcoming nationalism.
One which is something that I was quite
tempted by when I was growing up, is to say
let's give up the need for collective forms of
identity altogether. Let's become cosmopolitans,
let's become people who care as much about the
suffering of people five thousand miles away as
about your neighbors. And while I still find
something quite appealing about that at a certain
philosophical level, I don't think that human
beings are made that way. Most people don't manage
to become saints of that stripe. And so if we want
to motivate people to have solidarity with each other.
To create for conditions in which you can have things
like welfare state, things like toleration beyond your
immediate group, I think you need to build
a form of nationalism.
HEFFNER: Right.
MOUNK: The second response has been to just
celebrate collective groups at the subnational
level, religious groups, sexual groups, ethnic
groups, but never the national one. And while I
absolutely believe that we need to defend these
groups against attack with everything we have, I also
think that we need to emphasize what unites us
across religious and ethnic and so-on lines in
the United States, rather than what divides us. And
so what I argue for in the book is an inclusive
patriotism. I have many political differences with
the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, but I
think he expressed the spirit of that very nicely
in a campaign speech in Marseilles about a year ago.
He said, when I look into this room, you know
we're in a city with two thousand years of immigration,
and what do I see? I see people from the Ivory Coast,
from Mali, from Algeria, from Morocco, from Italy,
from Poland. But what do I see? I see the people
of Marseilles. What do I see? I see the people of France.
And then referring to a far right nationalist,
Marine Le Pen, he says, look here ladies and
gentleman from the Frente Nacional,
this is what it looks like to be proud to be French.
That's a kind of inclusive patriotism that I can
get on board with.
HEFFNER: Someone will challenge President Trump with
that authority and reveal his nationalism or patriotism
to be un-American, ultimately, to be
unrepresentative of the majority or the plurality
depending upon how you see it. That is the linguistic
and cultural and historical framing of a
successful nominee for president in 2020.
MOUNK: I agree, and that's what Barack Obama did
brilliantly, both on the campaign trail in 2008 but
also as president.
HEFFNER: To my mind, it's not only reclaiming nationalism,
it's reclaiming the architecture of the
Constitution, and you refer to the civic
institutions here being deprived of a learned
constituency that will partake in our American government.
MOUNK: No it's absolutely important to
understand, is that we sometimes picture the
threat to democracy as emanating from, you know
fascists in you know black boots, carrying torches.
And there are cases of that, but much more often,
democracies perish because voters are willing to put
up with politicians who violate the most basic
constitutional rules and norms. So when we look at
what's been happening in Hungary for the past
years, they've been happy to go with a prime
minister who has vilified the opposition, who has
undermined the independence of the press,
who has reformed the judiciary in a way to give
him much more political control, and who has
staffed the electoral commission with his own
supporters. Now he did all of that claiming that it
was in the service of democracy. It was in the
service of him being better able to speak for
the people, represent them in politics. But what's
happened over time is that democratically elected
prime minister has taken on so many powers,
that it's now impossible to throw him out of office
through democratic means, or at least it's very
difficult. Because of a playing field between the
government and the opposition is no longer even.
So we need to spread the word about the
Constitution, not just because it's nice and it's
you know it's beautiful for Fourth of July speech
and so on, but because we need to understand how
important those rules and norms are. How important
the defense of a Constitution is, in order to preserve things
that we really care about like our individual freedom,
like our ability to rule ourselves collectively.
HEFFNER: And we need to really do a forensic analysis and
inspection of those critical documents,
to assert that in that war of the people vs. democracy,
ultimately the people have to have conviction in those
documents. And they have to not just have
conviction but understand how they are represented
faithfully. Yascha, you know in the minutes we
have remaining, what is really...
MOUNK: I was only just getting started. [LAUGHS]
HEFFNER: I know, right, so... the most malignant influence
that is pulling us, pulling the seams apart of the democratic
order. It's not so simple to say Russia, but is it?
MOUNK: Well look-
HEFFNER: At least in so far as those former Soviet territories
and countries and that part of the world are concerned.
MOUNK: Yeah, I mean, you know one way of framing
this question is whether or not Russia determined
the outcome of the 2016 elections, and I don't
know the answer to that. What I do know is that in
a functioning political system, somebody who
breaks its most basic rules of the road,
should not have been within striking distance of
winning the presidency. Now there's a good chance
that Russian interference made the difference.
It was 80 thousand votes between Trump winning and losing.
I don't know the answer to that. What I do know is that
in a healthy political system, he wouldn't have been
anywhere close to winning. He wouldn't have been the
Republican nominee in the first place. And so we can't,
so we have to do two things. We have to become much more
assertive and much more self-confident about
defending our political order against authoritarian
adversaries who have an interest in subverting it.
And that at the very least means reforming our electoral
system to make it much more difficult to hack into voting
machines and falsify elections. To recommit people to our
constitutional ideals, to make it much harder for
outside money to advertise in our political
campaigns, which also means by the way cleaning
out the campaign system as a whole, because when you
have billions flowing in, it's easy to hide millions
from the outside as well. So we have to do all of,
all of those things. But we also have to do
something more fundamental. Which is that
we need to show people that the government can
actually deliver for them. And we need to overcome
the deep and poisonous partisanship in our country.
Because it is that which authoritarian powers,
at the moment, are exploiting. And by the way
now that Russia has shown how much chaos you can sow
from the outside, one of my fears is that other
authoritarian powers will start to copy, start to
take a page out of the same playbook. Why would Iran,
why would China, why would other countries,
some of which have even more money, even more state capacity
than Russia, sit on the sidelines when we see how easy
it is to mess with us by exploiting our divisions.
HEFFNER: And the inherent democratic quality of a nation
that you alluded to before, depends on fairness and an
economic climate that is conducive to livelihood.
MOUNK: Yeah, I actually think that the slogan of
the Brexiteers, of a people who wanted to take
the United Kingdom out of Europe was very smart.
They said take back control. People want to
feel like I have control over my own life,
if I work hard, if I turn up to work, if I get a decent
education, I'm actually gonna have a good life.
And we want to feel that my nation can stand up for
itself in the age of globalization and make sure
that rich individuals, corporations, and so on are
actually taxed, at an effective rate. Now there are things we
can do in order to give people that. We can invest much more
in education including lifelong learning,
we can do much more to raise productivity,
we can reform the tax code in order to help ordinary
Americans rather than billionaires and some of
the biggest corporations in the country as we
unfortunately have done a few months ago. And we can
also show that the United States, and other
countries for that matter, can go after people who
hide their money in tax havens. Can ensure that
corporations pay a reasonable share of taxes,
whether they have a normal headquarters in Delaware
or in California, and in you know the United States
or in Luxembourg or Ireland. So there's a lot
of things we can do there, and it's up to politicians
now to understand the urgency of doing that.
Not just because it matters for economic justice,
also because it matters for political stability.
HEFFNER: When is your hope realized that the people
will wake up to the populists, and their, the reality that
they don't represent their economic interests.
MOUNK: Well there's a temptation to think that
populism is a self-correcting mechanism. That populists
often are driven by real frustrations, their analysis
is not always completely off, but their solutions are
nearly always wrong. And so the temptation is to say...
HEFFNER: Well they're and they're sometimes opposite.
You know they wanna further exacerbate the problems.
MOUNK: Right. They claim they're gonna help steel workers
in Michigan, and actually they don't.
HEFFNER: Right.
MOUNK: So, the temptation is to say that populists turn up
in the political system and as a result more established
political parties, more moderate politicians
become more responsive to the frustrations that are
driving this. They fix some of the problems,
and everything starts being stable again. I think
there's a chance of that. There's also a danger,
though, that people get really frustrated with the
political system, populists rise, they actually exacerbate
the problems as we've been talking about, or they make the
system ungovernable because there's so much chaos as
in Italy now after the last elections, that actually the
frustration keeps growing, and you get a vicious cycle,
and my-- my fear is that we're in that. But I wanna,
end if I may on a-
HEFFNER: Yes, please.
MOUNK: On a more positive note. Look, I came of age
politically at a time when there was a lot of important
political battles, but it didn't seem like the very future of
our most fundamental ideals was at stake.
Now it is. And that's scary. And it's depressing.
But it's also inspiring. Because it means that what
we do now really matters. The great writer Amos Oz has
a nice metaphor for this, he says that there's a huge
fire burning. And it can feel hopeless to do something
about that. You and me, you know we each have a little cup,
might look like there's tea or coffee in it,
it's actually water. And how are we going to extinguish
a fire. What's, what' are we gonna, you know how
much effect can we have. But you know what, there's
a ton of people with a little bit of water in there,
in their cup. There's a ton of people watching this,
and if all of us together go and pour our little piece
of water on the fire, then together we might be able to
extinguish it. Now I can't promise you a happy end.
I can't tell you a fire is definitely gonna go out.
But you know what you have some water in your hand,
the fire is over there. Don't ask what the result is
gonna be, go do it. Go fight for your ideals.
HEFFNER: Thank you Yascha.
MOUNK: Thank you so much. It was a pleasure.
HEFFNER: And thanks to you in the audience. I hope you join

Truths That Transform - The Cost of Freedom - Duration: 28:31.
D. JAMES KENNEDY MINISTRIES PRESENTS
TRUTHS THAT TRANSFORM.
WHY TRUST THE BIBLE?
WE'LL TAKE A LOOK AT THE PROOFS ON
TODAY'S TRUTHS THAT TRANSFORM.
THIS IS TRUTHS THAT TRANSFORM.
♪
WELCOME TO TRUTHS THAT TRANSFORM, A PRODUCTION
OF D. JAMES KENNEDY MINISTRIES, WHERE WE ARE
STANDING FOR TRUTH AND DEFENDING YOUR FREEDOM.
THERE ARE SOME IDEAS WHICH CATCH ON AND AFFECT THE
ENTIRE WORLD.
THE GOSPEL IS THE MOST POWERFUL OF ALL THOSE
IDEAS, IT HAS SHAPED AND TRANSFORMED THE ENTIRE
WORLD FOR 2000 YEARS.
BUT THERE ARE SOME FALSE IDEAS- COUNTERFEITS
GOSPELS, IF YOU WILL- THAT HAVE ALSO HAD AN OUTSIZED
IMPACT, TO THE DETRIMENT OF MILLIONS.
THIS MONTH ON OUR PROGRAM, WE'LL BE EXAMINING SOME OF
THOSE IDEAS AND EXPOSING THEM TO THE LIGHT OF
TRUTH.
TODAY, WE BEGIN WITH KARL MARX, WHOSE ATHEISTIC
SOCIALISM HAS RESULTED IN TENS OF MILLIONS OF
DEATHS, AND GRINDING POVERTY IN A MULTITUDE OF
COUNTRIES.
WILLIAM J. MURRAY IS THE SON OF THE LATE,
WORLD-FAMOUS ATHEIST MADALYN MURRAY O'HAIR,
WHO WAS A DEVOTED PROPONENT OF MARXISM.
HE'S THE AUTHOR OF THE RECENT BOOK, UTOPIAN ROAD
TO HELL, AND HE JOINS US NOW.
WELL BILL, THANKS FOR JOINING US TODAY,
IT'S GREAT TO HAVE YOU WITH US.
GREAT, GOOD TO BE ON WITH YA.
WELL, YOU HAVE AN ACADEMIC BACKGROUND,
AND STUDIED SOCIALISM, YOU'VE GOT HISTORICAL
INTERESTS, A WIDE BREADTH OF KNOWLEDGE ABOUT IT,
BUT YOUR BOOK IS REALLY ABOUT YOUR PERSONAL
JOURNEY, THE PERSONAL EFFECT OF SOCIALISM ON
YOU, HOW DOES
WELL, THE VERY BEGINNING OF THE BOOK IN ORDER TO
INTRODUCE WHY I'M SO INTERESTED IN IT, AND
I'M INTERESTED IN IT BECAUSE I WAS A RED-DIAPER
BABY, PEOPLE THINK OF MY MOTHER AS THE ATHEIST
FIREBRAND BUT IN REALITY SHE WAS A DEDICATED
MARXIST WHO ATTEMPTED TO DEFECT TO THE SOVIET UNION
IN 1960 AND IT WAS ACTUALLY THROUGH THAT
DEFECTION THAT DIDN'T WORK AND HER FORCED RETURN TO
THE UNITED STATES THAT SHE ACCIDENTALLY DISCOVERED
THE PRAYER IN SCHOOL AND FILED THE LAWSUIT.
NOW, SHE ALSO WANTED THE PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE OUT
OF THE SCHOOL, SHE WANTED ANY REFERENCES
TO CAPITALISM OUT OF THE SCHOOL, SHE WANTED
THE CONSTITUTION OUT OF THE SCHOOL.
AS SHE MADE MONEY BEING AN ATHEIST THAT THOSE
ATTITUDES CHANGED SOMEWHAT, BUT THE REALITY WAS,
I WAS RAISED IN A MARXIST HOME AND UNDERSTOOD MARXISM
BETTER THAN PROBABLY A LOT OF YOUNG PEOPLE MY AGE
BEING RAISED IN THE SOVIET UNION AT THE TIME.
WHAT ABOUT THE ATHEISTIC CHARACTERISTIC OF
SOCIALISM, IT'S NOT JUST ATHEISTIC ITS
ANTAGONISTICALLY ATHEISTIC YES?
IT IS FIRST OF ALL ANTI-RELIGIOUS,
BUT IT'S PARTICULARLY IN ITS WESTERN FRAMEWORK
ANTI-CHRISTIAN BECAUSE CHRIST GAVE US FREEDOM OF
THE INDIVIDUAL, WE HAVE FREEDOM OF THE INDIVIDUAL
THAT CAME THROUGH CHRIST.
AND OUR RIGHTS COME FROM GOD,
WELL THIS IS A PROBLEM WHEN YOU'RE DEALING WITH
CENTRAL PLANNING AND YOU NEED TO CONTROL THE PEOPLE
AND YOU NEED TO TELL THEM NOT ONLY WHAT THEIR NEEDS
ARE BUT WHAT THEY ARE GOING TO DO.
SO, THE CONCEPT OF GOD, THE CONCEPT OF HAVING ANY
AUTHORITY HIGHER THAN GOVERNMENT HAS TO BE
ELIMINATED PARTICULARLY JUDEO-CHRISTIANITY.
YEAH.
SOME RECENT POLLS OF SO-CALLED MILLENNIALS,
30 AND UNDER GENERALLY, SHOW ABOUT 30-35% OF THEM
PREFER SOCIALISM TO CAPITALISM.
YOU'VE SAID THAT SOCIALISM, TRUE SOCIALISM,
FULL ORBED SOCIALISM WHEREVER ITS TRIED ALWAYS
FAILS, WOULDN'T CONFRONTING A YOUNG PERSON
WITH THE EVIDENCE, THE EMPIRICAL EVIDENCE OF
THOSE FAILURES BE AT LEAST PERSUASIVE IN HELPING THEM
SEE THERE'S MORE TO SOCIALISM THAN THEY MAY
UNDERSTAND WHEN ALL THEY HEAR ARE THE FINE SOUNDING
IDEAS.
NO.
BECAUSE THEY'RE IN A STATE OF MAGIC THOUGHT,
JUST LIKE MY MOTHER WAS.
THEY'RE SORT OF LIKE THE PEOPLE THAT BELIEVE THAT
NOBODY EVER WALKED ON MOON, THAT THERE WAS A
GIANT CONSPIRACY.
YOU KNOW, THAT SOMEHOW, SOME GROUP, SOME ORGANIZATION,
SOME UNKNOWN BEHIND THE SCENES THING HAS MANAGED TO
FORCE SOCIALISM OR COLLECTIVISM OR WHATEVER
YOU WANT TO CALL IT TO FAIL.
AND IF ONLY IF IT WERE DONE RIGHT,
OR THE PEOPLE THAT TRIED IT DIDN'T DO IT RIGHT,
IF ONLY IT WERE DONE RIGHT AND YOU TAKE A LOOK AT THE
FAILED FRENCH REVOLUTION AND KARL MARX SAYS, WELL
I GOT THIS FIGURED OUT, I KNOW HOW WE CAN MAKE THIS
WORK AND THEY TRIED IT IN SOVIET UNION AND OF COURSE
IT DIDN'T WORK AND THEN THE CUBANS LOOKED AT IT
AND IT WASN'T WORKING IN RUSSIA THEY THOUGHT NO PROBLEM
WE CAN MAKE IT WORK HERE, AND THE CHINESE LOOKED
AT IT AND SAID HEY.
I MEAN WE'RE TALKING ENTIRE SOCIETIES NOW,
NOT YOUNG MILLENNIALS, WE'RE TALKING ENTIRE
SOCIETIES WATCHED SOMETHING ELSE FAILING
AND THEY TRIED IT ANYWAY.
THEN POL POT CAME ALONG, AND HE LOOKED AT THE WHOLE
THING AND HE SAID LOOK, THIS HASN'T WORKED
ANYWHERE, EVERYBODY IS STARVING ANYWHERE, I HAVE
THE SOLUTION.
WHAT THE MISTAKE THAT THEY MADE IS THAT THEY DIDN'T
GO FAR ENOUGH DOWN, THEY KEPT PEOPLE AROUND THAT
WERE EDUCATED AND THAT WERE CORRUPTED WITH IDEAS
OF FREE TRADE AND CAPITALISM.
AND ALL WE NEED TO DO IS GET RID OF THOSE,
SO HE MURDERED EVERYBODY WITH A COLLEGE EDUCATION,
HE MURDERED EVERYBODY THAT WORE GLASSES,
EVERYBODY THAT HAD ANY KIND OF A COLLEGE DEGREE,
EVERYBODY THAT SPOKE A FOREIGN LANGUAGE,
ANYBODY THAT HAD EVER BEEN A POLICE OFFICER,
ANYBODY THAT HAD EVER BEEN AN ARMY OFFICER.
HE MURDERED A THIRD OF THE POPULATION,
THINKING THAT IF HE REDUCED IT TO THE CORE
PROLETARIAT THEY COULD BUILD THIS MARVELOUS
SOCIETY.
I READ SOMEONE SAY RECENTLY THAT IF YOUNG
PEOPLE REALIZE THAT AMAZON WOULD BE OWNED BY THE
GOVERNMENT, UBER WOULD BE OWNED BY THE GOVERNMENT,
GOOGLE, FACEBOOK, ALL THE THINGS THAT THEY IDOLIZE
IN THE CULTURE TODAY, IN A TRUE SOCIALIST SYSTEM THE
MEANS OF PRODUCTION IS ALL OWNED BY COLLECTIVELY THAT
IF THEY REALIZE THAT THEY WOULDN'T LIKE IT BUT
THERE'S SOMETHING ELSE THAT WOULD BE MISSING
ALTOGETHER.
YES, GOOGLE WOULD BE MISSING.
EXACTLY.
UBER WOULD BE MISSING.
WHAT YOUNG FOLKS DON'T UNDERSTAND IS THE
ACCUMULATION OF WEALTH IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT
BECAUSE INNOVATION COMES FROM THE ACCUMULATION OF
WEALTH AND THEY ALL WELL THAT'S NONSENSE.
IS IT NONSENSE?
REMEMBER THAT FIRST CELL PHONE THAT WAS LIKE A BRICK,
A LOT OF YOUNG PEOPLE DON'T REMEMBER THAT.
I MEAN ALL IT WAS WAS A TELEPHONE AND YOU COULD
DEFEND YOURSELF WITH IT.
IN FACT MOTOROLA WHO MADE IT, RAN COMMERCIALS OF IT
SOMEBODY PICKING IT UP BURNT OUT OF A FIRE AND
IT STILL WORKED, BUT HERE'S THE POINT
WHEN THAT PHONE CAME OUT IT COST ALMOST $1000,
IT WAS JUST LITERALLY NOTHING MORE THAN A TELEPHONE
BUT THERE WERE PEOPLE THAT WERE ABLE TO BUY IT
BECAUSE THEY WANTED IT AND NEEDED IT BECAUSE
THEY SAW THE PRODUCTIVITY ADVANTAGES OF IT, AND
THAT GAVE THE PEOPLE THAT MANUFACTURED THAT PHONE,
MONEY SO THEY COULD INNOVATE AND PRODUCE MORE PHONES,
CHEAPER PHONES, SMALLER PHONES, UNTIL WE HAVE
WHAT WE HAVE TODAY.
WELL BILL, THANK YOU FOR JOINING US SO MUCH,
IT'S BEEN GREAT HAVING YOU HERE.
GREAT TO BE ON HERE.
LATER IN THIS PROGRAM, YOU'LL SEE HOW THE IDEAS
OF KARL MARX ARE DEVASTATING ONE NATION
EVEN TODAY.
AND WE'LL SHARE A TREMENDOUS RESOURCE WITH
YOU WHICH EXAMINES THE DANGEROUS IDEAS OF MARX
AND A HANDFUL OF OTHER MEN THAT CONTINUE TO WREAK
HAVOC IN OUR WORLD.
THIS IS SOMETHING THAT DR. D. JAMES KENNEDY SAW
VERY CLEARLY.
FREEDOM IS A RARE GIFT IN HUMAN HISTORY- THE
EXCEPTION, RATHER THAN THE RULE.
BUT FREEDOM COMES FROM GOD, AND WHEN GOD IS
PUSHED OUT OF THE PICTURE, SO GOES FREEDOM WITH IT.
DR. KENNEDY EXPLAINS IN THIS PORTION OF HIS
MESSAGE, "THE COST OF FREEDOM."
WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO THAT BURNING FLAME OF LIBERTY
THAT SO MOVED THE FOUNDERS OF THIS COUNTRY?
I'M AFRAID THE FLAME IS BURNING VERY WEAKLY IN
AMERICA TODAY.
LIBERTY.
ABRAHAM LINCOLN SAID, "OUR FATHERS BROUGHT FORTH ON
THIS CONTINENT A NEW NATION, CONCEIVED IN WHAT?
IN LIBERTY!"
AND OUR DECLARATION SAYS THAT NEXT TO LIFE ITSELF,
THE MOST IMPORTANT RIGHT WE HAVE IS "LIBERTY."
AND IF YOU LOOK AT THE BIBLE, YOU WILL FIND WHAT
MANY SCHOLARS AGREE TO BE THE MAJOR THEME OF THE
ENTIRE OLD AND NEW TESTAMENTS.
IT IS "LIBERTY, FREEDOM."
DID YOU EVER THINK ABOUT THAT?
ONE GREAT TRUTH THAT AMERICANS HAVE FORGOTTEN,
I BELIEVE, IS THAT THE SOURCE OF THE LIBERTY THAT
WE HAVE HAS COME FROM ONE PLACE ONLY; IT HAS COME
FROM GOD; IT HAS COME FROM CHRIST, WHO ALONE CAN MAKE
PEOPLE FREE.
AND EVERYWHERE THAT PEOPLE ARE FREE, IT IS BECAUSE
BELIEVERS HAVE BEEN WILLING TO PUT IT ON THE
LINE AND TO STAND UP BEFORE THE TYRANT AND SAY,
"NO FARTHER SHALT THOU GO."
HAVING BEEN MADE FREE IN THEIR SOULS THAT CREATES
AN IRRESISTIBLE URGE FOR CIVIL AND POLITICAL
FREEDOM, ESPECIALLY WHEREVER THE PURE GOSPEL
OF JESUS CHRIST, THE REFORMED GOSPEL OF CHRIST
IN ALL OF ITS EMPHASIS UPON GRACE AND THE CROSS-
WHEREVER THAT HAS GONE, IT HAS BEEN FOLLOWED BY CIVIL
AND POLITICAL LIBERTY.
AND WE ARE VERY QUICKLY THROWING OUR RELIGIOUS
LIBERTY OVERBOARD AND YOU SHOULD ALSO REMEMBER THAT
WHEN RELIGIOUS LIBERTY GOES, OTHER LIBERTIES
FOLLOW.
THERE ARE MANY IN OUR COUNTRY THAT HAVE SUNK SO
FAR BELOW RELIGIOUS LIBERTY THAT THEY ARE NOT
EVEN UP TO THE ELEMENT OF RELIGIOUS TOLERATION.
THERE ARE MANY IN THIS COUNTRY TODAY THAT WON'T
EVEN TOLERATE RELIGION- MOST ESPECIALLY
CHRISTIANITY.
I THINK OF THE FATHER OF MODERN EDUCATION, JOHN
DEWEY, THE FATHER OF MODERN PROGRESSIVE
EDUCATION, WHO IS SO LIONIZED IN OUR COUNTRY
TODAY AND HAS BEEN FOR MANY, MANY YEARS, AND YET
DEWEY AND THE VARIOUS LEADERS OF THE PROGRESSIVE
EDUCATION MOVEMENT HAVE SAID, "THERE IS NO GOD
AND THERE IS NO SOUL."
HENCE, THERE ARE NO NEEDS FOR THE PROPS OF
TRADITIONAL RELIGION.
WITH DOGMA AND CREED EXCLUDED, THEN IMMUTABLE
TRUTH IS ALSO DEAD AND BURIED.
THERE IS NO ROOM FOR FIXED NATURAL LAW OR MORAL
ABSOLUTES.
AND THAT STATEMENT MADE BY DEWEY COULD JUST AS EASILY
HAVE COME OUT OF THE MOUTH OF HITLER OR MARX OR
ANYONE ELSE LIKE THAT.
BY THE WAY, I ASKED SOMEONE TODAY, "WHAT WAS
COMMUNISM ALL ABOUT?
WHAT WERE THEY TRYING TO DO?
WAS IT SOMETHING TO DO WITH ECONOMICS?"
HE WASN'T REALLY SURE.
AND I SAID, "WELL, LET ME GIVE IT TO YOU FROM THE
LIPS OF KARL MARX HIMSELF.
WHEN ASKED BY A REPORTER WHAT HE WAS TRYING TO DO,
HE SAID THAT HE WAS ATTEMPTING TO DETHRONE GOD
AND DESTROY CAPITALISM.
NOTICE THE ORDER OF PRIORITY.
YES, MY FRIENDS, I THINK AMERICANS HAVE COME TO THE
PLACE WHERE THEY TAKE THEIR RELIGIOUS FREEDOM
FAR TOO MUCH FOR GRANTED.
AND TODAY MANY PEOPLE LOOK UPON RELIGION AS AN EVIL,
NOT EVEN TO BE TOLERATED, BUT TO BE REMOVED.
FOLKS, WHEN OUR RELIGIOUS FREEDOM DISAPPEARS, ALL
OTHER FREEDOMS FOLLOW SOON AFTER.
AS THE SCRIPTURES TELL US, "WHERE THE SPIRIT OF THE
LORD IS, THERE IS FREEDOM."
KARL MARX CALLED RELIGION THE OPIUM OF THE MASSES
AND CONCEIVED COMMUNISM AS A GODLESS UTOPIA.
BUT THE EXCLUSION OF GOD HAS BROUGHT NOTHING LIKE
UTOPIA TO THE PLACES WHERE IT HAS BEEN TRIED.
IT INSTEAD HAS BROUGHT SERVITUDE, POVERTY, AND
BONDAGE.
FORMER PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE BERNIE SANDERS,
HIMSELF A COMMITTED SOCIALIST, ONCE CLAIMED
THAT THE AMERICAN DREAM WAS MORE ACHIEVABLE IN
VENEZUELA THAN IT WAS IN AMERICA.
SO HOW ARE THINGS GOING IN BERNIE'S PARADISE,
THE COMMUNIST NATION OF VENEZUELA?
OUR OWN DR. JERRY NEWCOMBE TAKES A LOOK.
IF YOU WANT A MODERN EXAMPLE OF WHY SOCIALISM
DOESN'T WORK AND WHAT IT PRODUCES, LOOK AT
VENEZUELA.
VENEZUELA WAS ONE OF THE MOST AFFLUENT COUNTRIES IN
LATIN AMERICA, IT IS NOW A COMPLETE BASKET CASE, IT'S
A QUADRIPLEGIC ECONOMICALLY.
THEY CAN'T EVEN GET BABY FORMULA TO MOTHERS WHO
NEED BABY FORMULA.
IT'S A HORRENDOUS CATASTROPHE FOR THE
VENEZUELAN PEOPLE.
THERE'S JUST NO SADDER OR MORE VISIBLE TESTIMONY OF
THE RAVAGES OF SOCIALISM THAN WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO
THE COUNTRY OF VENEZUELA IN THE PAST 10 OR 15 YEARS.
JOHN MOORE, A MUSIC MINISTER, LIVED IN
VENEZUELA PERFORMING IN A SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA IN THE
EARLY 1980S.
DURING THE DAYS OF PROSPERITY, LONG BEFORE
THEIR EXPERIMENT WITH SOCIALISM.
HUGO CHAVEZ WAS A DEDICATED COMMUNIST AND IN
HIS DESIRE TO EQUALIZE THE SOCIETY OR WHATEVER ELSE,
HE DIDN'T ATTACK THE SUPER-RICH, HE ATTACKED
THE MIDDLE CLASS, HE TOOK THEIR MONEY.
AND AS A RESULT, THE SAME RESULT THAT HAPPENED IN
CUBA.
JUST COMPLETE ECONOMIC RUIN.
CRITICS NOTE THAT MARXISM ALWAYS FAILS.
ALWAYS.
AND THE PEOPLE OF VENEZUELA ARE PAYING THE
PRICE.
THE WASHINGTON POST REPORTED RECENTLY THAT
JUST LAST YEAR ALONE HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS LEFT
VENEZUELA FOR GOOD.
WE ARE SIMPLY LIVING IN A COUNTRY THAT IS NOT BEING
GOVERNED BY ANYONE; WE ARE LIVING IN TOTAL ANARCHY.
ONE OF THOSE FLEEING VENEZUELA RECENTLY IS
QUOTED IN WORLD MAGAZINE SAYING, "LEAVING WAS
TOUGH, BUT STAYING WOULD HAVE BEEN TOUGHER."
AND SHE ADDED, "WE KNOW LOTS OF PEOPLE WHO WOULD
LIKE TO GET OUT OF VENEZUELA BUT CAN'T AFFORD
THE TICKET."
IN ADDITION TO THE SECOND HIGHEST MURDER RATE IN THE
WORLD, VENEZUELA HAS THE WORST INFLATION IN THE
WORLD.
AND SINCE 2012, THE CURRENCY HAS LOST 99%
OF ITS VALUE.
LAST YEAR, THE INFLATION WAS UP 2600%.
EVERYWHERE, THERE ARE LONG LINES FOR FOOD AND
NECESSITIES.
THERE IS A SHORTAGE OF FOOD IN THIS RICH COUNTRY
THAT HAS SOME OF THE WORLD'S GREATEST OIL
RESERVES ON THE PLANET.
THE SITUATION IN VENEZUELA GETS WORSE EVERY DAY.
I CAN'T STAND IT ANYMORE.
ALL I DO IS STAND IN LINE.
I JUST WENT AND COULDN'T EVEN GET A RATION OF FLOUR
FOR BREAD.
WHAT'S THE PURPOSE?
TO MAKE EVERYONE DEPEND UPON THE STATE, THAT IS
THE STRATEGY OF COMMUNISM, FOR PEOPLE TO DEPEND ON
THE GOVERNMENT FOR EVEN A MORSEL OF FOOD.
FROM 1998 UNTIL HIS DEATH IN MARCH OF 2013,
VENEZUELAN PRESIDENT HUGO CHAVEZ LAUNCHED A
SOCIALIST REVOLUTION TO REDISTRIBUTE WEALTH,
CONFISCATE PROPERTY, NATIONALIZE COMPANIES AND
TAKE OVER THE MEDIA.
THE GOVERNMENT HAS CLOSED DOWN PRIVATE ENTERPRISES
AND UNEMPLOYMENT HAS INCREASED WHICH HAS CAUSED
A CHAIN REACTION OF DELINQUENCY AND LACK OF
SECURITY.
I NO LONGER WORK AS AN ATTORNEY FOR VARIOUS
REASONS, BUT MAINLY BECAUSE JUSTICE NO LONGER
EXISTS HERE IN VENEZUELA.
THE SOCIALISTIC POLICIES HAVE RESULTED IN A
COMPLETE SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC COLLAPSE WITH
DANGEROUS SHORTAGES OF EVERY KIND.
THE AVERAGE VENEZUELAN LOST 24 POUNDS LAST YEAR
BECAUSE OF WIDESPREAD HUNGER.
EVEN THE PRISONERS IN THE JAILS HAVE TO RESORT TO
EATING RATS AND PIGEONS TO SURVIVE.
WE RAN SOME TESTS ON MY 18 YEAR OLD SON AND I WAS
SURPRISED TO FIND THAT HIS IMMUNE SYSTEM IS VERY WEAK
AS A RESULT OF BAD NUTRITION.
UNFORTUNATELY, IN VENEZUELA THESE DAYS WE
EAT WHATEVER WE CAN GET, NOT WHAT OUR BODY NEEDS.
IT IS AN EXTRAVAGANCE TO GET SICK.
HERE PEOPLE EASILY END UP IN THE HOSPITAL AND THE
HARDSHIPS THEY ENDURE TO GET BASICS LIKE A SYRINGE
OR A VILE ARE TERRIBLE, NOT TO MENTION SUPPLIES
FOR SURGERY.
BUT FOR THE PRIVILEGED, SUPPLIES MIRACULOUSLY
APPEAR AND IN GREAT QUANTITIES.
ALL THE PROMISES OF SOCIALISM IN VENEZUELA
HAVE TURNED OUT TO BE LIES- BRINGING
DESTITUTION, SUFFERING AND DEATH TO MOST OF THE
POPULATION- AND INCREASING POWER TO THOSE IN CONTROL.
UP UNTIL HIS DEATH, STRONGMAN CHAVEZ INSISTED
THAT SOCIALISM WAS NOT ONLY DEMOCRATIC, BUT ALSO
SUPPOSEDLY CHRISTIAN.
DEFUNCT PRESIDENT CHAVEZ SAID SOCIALISM IS THE SAME
AS CHRISTIANITY.
COMMUNISM IS ATHEISM NO MATTER HOW YOU TRY TO
DISGUISE IT.
OBVIOUSLY THE BIBLE IS AGAINST THE COMMUNIST
MODEL.
THEY HAVE TRIED TO EQUATE THEMSELVES WITH THE ONE
TRUE GOD, HOPING TO BECOME AN IDOL.
GOD DOES NOT SHARE HIS GLORY WITH ANYONE AND WHEN
AN ENTIRE COUNTRY CALLS A MAN SOVEREIGN,
ALL-POWERFUL, THAT HE'S MY COMMANDER AND 'I'LL DO
WHATEVER YOU SAY' YOU ARE TAKING THE PLACE THAT
BELONGS ONLY TO GOD.
IRONICALLY, THE RICHEST PERSON IN VENEZUELA IS THE
DAUGHTER OF HUGO CHAVEZ.
THE SUFFERING IN VENEZUELA ILLUSTRATES HOW THE
SOCIALISTIC PROMISES OF FREE STUFF FOR EVERYONE
MEANS THAT THE RESOURCES HAVE TO BE TAKEN BY THE
AUTHORITARIAN HAND OF THE STATE.
AT THE END OF THE DAY, IT SIMPLY DOESN'T WORK.
WHAT'S SO STRANGE IS THAT PEOPLE KEEP SAYING WE NEED
MORE SOCIALISM WHEN WE KNOW IT'S A FAILURE.
I GRIEVE FOR THE PEOPLE OF VENEZUELA.
I LOVE THAT COUNTRY, I HAD A SON THAT WAS STILLBORN
THAT WAS BURIED IN VENEZUELA AND IT'S TO MY
GREAT SADNESS THAT I SEE WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO THAT
COUNTRY.
AS YOU HAVE JUST SEEN, THE COMMUNIST ECONOMIC
POLICIES OF VENEZUELA'S GOVERNMENT HAVE TURNED ONE
OF THE MOST RESOURCE-RICH NATIONS IN OUR HEMISPHERE
INTO AN UNINHABITABLE DYSTOPIA.
THIS IS THE FRUIT OF THE ATHEIST KARL MARX, YET HIS
IDEAS CONTINUE TO PERCOLATE, WITH EVEN 44%
OF AMERICAN MILLENNIALS IN A RECENT POLL SAYING
THEY'D PREFER TO LIVE IN A SOCIALISTIC COUNTRY.
IT'S IMPERATIVE TO UNDERSTAND HOW
LONG-DISCREDITED IDEAS CONTINUE TO AFFECT US, AND
WE HAVE A RESOURCE THAT WILL HELP YOU DO THAT.
HERE'S MY DEAR FRIEND JENNIFER KENNEDY CASSIDY
TO TELL US MORE ABOUT IT.
JENNIFER WELCOME.
THANK YOU, FRANK.
AS A WISE PERSON ONCE SAID, "IDEAS HAVE
CONSEQUENCES."
POWERFUL IDEAS SHAPE THE WORLD AROUND US FOR BETTER
OR FOR WORSE, AND THE LESS WE KNOW ABOUT THEM, THE
MORE POWER EVEN BAD IDEAS CAN HAVE OVER US.
WE WANT TO SEND YOU AN IMPORTANT BOOK ABOUT THIS,
CALLED 7 MEN WHO RULE THE WORLD FROM THE GRAVE, BY
DAVE BREESE.
THE BIBLE INSTRUCTS US TO "DESTROY ARGUMENTS AND
EVERY LOFTY OPINION RAISED AGAINST THE KNOWLEDGE OF
GOD, AND TAKE EVERY THOUGHT CAPTIVE TO OBEY
CHRIST."
THE IDEAS OF THESE 7 MEN, INCLUDING KARL MARX,
CHARLES DARWIN, SIGMUND FREUD, AND JOHN DEWEY
STILL EXERT A POWERFUL, UNSEEN INFLUENCE ON OUR
DAILY LIVES.
BUT DAVE BREESE WARNS US OF THE DANGERS OF
UNCRITICALLY BELIEVING THE IDEAS OF THESE 7 MEN, AND
HE ALSO REMINDS US OF THE ONLY MAN WHOSE LIFE AND
WORDS WE CAN TRUST COMPLETELY- JESUS CHRIST.
WE'LL SEND YOU THIS OUTSTANDING BOOK, 7 MEN
WHO RULE THE WORLD FROM THE GRAVE AS OUR THANKS
FOR YOUR GENEROUS DONATION TO THE ONGOING WORK OF
THIS MINISTRY.

AND IF YOU'RE ABLE TO GIVE A GENEROUS DONATION OF $50
OR MORE, WE'LL SEND YOU THE BOOK PLUS THE DVD
PROGRAM, THE 3 BIG LIES OF SOCIALISM.
THIS PROGRAM LOOKS AT THREE CENTRAL LIES THAT
OPEN THE DOOR FOR SOCIALISM- THE LIE THAT
THERE IS NO GOD, THAT YOU CAN HAVE SOMETHING FOR
NOTHING AND THAT SOCIALISM WORKS.
THOSE ASSERTIONS ARE FALSE, BUT THOSE WHO DON'T
REALIZE IT ARE LINING UP TO BE DUPED FOR KARL
MARX'S DANGEROUS SYSTEM.
WE EXPOSE THE TRUTH IN THIS HARD-HITTING DVD
PROGRAM, 3 BIG LIES OF SOCIALISM, AND WE WILL
SEND IT TO YOU, AS WELL AS THE BOOK 7 MEN WHO RULE
THE WORLD FROM THE GRAVE, AS OUR THANKS FOR YOUR
GENEROUS DONATION OF $50 OR MORE TO THE ONGOING
WORK OF THIS MINISTRY.
WE DEPEND UPON YOUR DONATIONS TO STAND FOR
TRUTH AND DEFEND YOUR FREEDOM, AS WE'RE DOING IN
OUR FEDERAL LAWSUIT AGAINST THE SOUTHERN
POVERTY LAW CENTER BECAUSE OF THEIR FALSE
DESIGNATIONS OF CHRISTIANS AS "HATE GROUPS."
SO PLEASE, GIVE GENEROUSLY.

A NEW PHENOMENON HAS DEVELOPED IN THE WAKE OF
NATIONAL DISASTERS: THE DENIGRATION OF PRAYERS FOR
THE VICTIMS.
RECENTLY, AFTER THE TRAGIC SCHOOL SHOOTING IN
PARKLAND, FLORIDA, IN WHICH 17 PEOPLE WERE
KILLED, THE MEDIA WAS FILLED WITH VOICES SAYING,
"SPARE US YOUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS.
THEY'RE NOT GOING TO DO ANY GOOD.
WE NEED ACTION!"
OF COURSE, THERE MAY WELL BE TIMES WHEN "THOUGHTS OR
PRAYERS" IS USED AS KIND OF A MINDLESS MANTRA,
SIMPLY A WAY OF NODDING IN THE DIRECTION OF TRAGEDY
WITHOUT INVESTING ANY REAL CARE OR EFFORT.
BUT FOR CHRISTIANS, THE OFFER OF PRAYER IS VITAL.
WHAT MANY PEOPLE ARE SAYING WHEN THEY DENIGRATE
THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS AFTER A TRAGEDY BEARS
EXAMINATION.
THEY ARE ESSENTIALLY SAYING, "YOUR PRAYERS ARE
YOUR OWN BUSINESS, BUT THEY ACCOMPLISH NOTHING.
PRAY IF YOU MUST, BUT WHAT WE REALLY NEED IS FOR THE
GOVERNMENT TO STEP IN AND FIX OUR PROBLEM.
YOUR GOD IS POWERLESS- BUT THE GOVERNMENT HAS THE
POWER TO SAVE US."
A SOCIETY THAT HAS LITERALLY TURNED
GOVERNMENT INTO A GOD WHILE RIDICULING THE
SOVEREIGN LORD JESUS CHRIST WONDERS WHY IT IS
THAT WE FIND BLOOD EVERYWHERE WE TURN.
WE SEE THE BLOOD OF 60 MILLION BABIES KILLED IN
THE WOMB.
WE SEE THE BLOOD OF DOZENS OF SCHOOL CHILDREN
SLAUGHTERED IN THE HALLWAYS OF THEIR OWN
SCHOOLS.
WE SEE CHILDREN TAUGHT THAT THEY ARE MEANINGLESS
PRODUCTS OF PHYSICAL LAW AND RANDOM CHANCE TURNED
INTO VICIOUS KILLERS.
AND YET WE THINK THAT MORE OF THE SAME SOLUTION-
REGULATIONS PROPOUNDED BY AN INCREASINGLY SECULAR,
HUMANISTIC GOVERNMENT- WILL GET US BETTER
RESULTS.
THE NOTION THAT THE STATE IS GOD, AND THAT
EXERCISING THE HEAVY HAND OF GOVERNMENT IN EVERY
AREA CAN ULTIMATELY MAKE US FREE, COMES DIRECTLY
FROM KARL MARX'S SOCIALISM.
IT HAS BEEN TRIED, AND IT HAS TRAGICALLY FAILED.
THE ROTTING FRUIT OF GODLESSNESS HAS PRODUCED A
STENCH THAT IS CHOKING OUR LAND.
IN THE FACE OF SUCH AN ABOMINATION, PRAYERS ARE
EXCEEDINGLY A POWERFUL TOOL.
LET US PRAY FOR THE REPENTANCE OF OUR NATION.
D. JAMES KENNEDY MINISTRIES IS STANDING FOR TRUTH AND
DEFENDING YOUR FREEDOM.
THANK YOU FOR JOINING US FOR THIS EDITION OF TRUTHS

THE ROOT OF THE PROBLEM OF MOST OF THE GREAT ILLS
THAT HAVE AFFLICTED SOCIETY AND DO AFFLICT IT

IT'S REALLY A CLASH AT A FOUNDATIONAL LEVEL,
BETWEEN THE ABSOLUTE AUTHORITY OF GOD'S WORD
AND IT'S MAN WHO DETERMINES TRUTH.

Top 10 Gordon Ramsay Famous Restaurants Around The World! - Duration: 15:04.
There is no more famous chefs in the world than Gordon Ramsay, a chef that has branded
himself as the angry Scottish bastard that rips cooks to shreds. He is so omnipresent
on television that it might surprise some to know that Ramsay is still a heavyweight
in the culinary world, with restaurants around the world that have garnered him nearly 20
Michelin Stars (with 17 and counting). So, we thought it'd be nifty to make the first
ever top 10 lists of Ramsay's restaurants around the world to help you peak into the
off-camera life of our favorite TV chef and second favorite TV jerk (we still have a soft
spot for Simon Cowell). So, let's jump right in!
The Fat Cow
Gordon Ramsay is perhaps best known for his temper and ability to insult those who seem
to genuinely deserve it. That's what makes him so endearing, even in a time where feeling
safe in the workplace seems to be the topic de jour. One of his go-to insults is calling
people fat, or stupid cows. Perhaps fittingly then, the restaurant was seemingly doomed
from the start, with legal challenges coming at every stage of the building. Ramsay was
first sued by the contractors who helped refurbish the place over a bill of over $45,000, then
he was sued for not providing minimum wage in a class action lawsuit by employees and
finally he was sued by a Spanish chef over the name Fat Cow, as he had somehow obtained
the rights to use that name exclusively (and then he sued Ramsay again after Ramsay closed
the restaurant and rebranded it for a healthy sum of $10 million dollars). After that, the
owner of the center that the restaurant was housed in ended up suing Ramsay for $6 million
dollars for unpaid rent on a lease of $52k a month. Ramsay said "It's the unfortunate,
but inevitable normal procedure following the closure of a restaurant". It did actually
serve food at one point, though, in addition to getting served legal papers. It was actually
intended to be a more casual take on Ramsay's cuisine, with a concept that Ramsay described
as coming from "[his] desire to have a neighborhood restaurant that you could go to all the time
to just relax and enjoy a terrific meal". Considering all the stress from the lawsuits,
it's sort of ironic that it was meant as a place for relaxation, but I guess that's the
karma that comes along with naming your restaurant after an insult.

Savoy Grill
The Savoy Grill is located in the historic Savoy Hotel in London, England, a hotel that
has been in business since 1889. The first of the Savoy group of hotels, it was actually
the first luxury hotel in the entire country, the first to utilize electric lights throughout
it's building, the first to have electric elevators, the first to have bathrooms (instead
of chamber pots), the first to have both hot and cold water and the first to have many
other amenities that most of us take for granted at a Motel 6 these days. With elements of
Art Deco surrounding it, the Savoy Grill is managed by Ramsay and the CEO of the Gordon
Ramsay Group. There are also six private dining rooms within the Savoy Grill, which is a nod
to the Gilbert and Sullivan operas that used to take place at the hotel. The grill did
have a Michelin star at one point, but after they lost it they decided to shut down and
reopen with a new menu. That menu met mixed reviews but it is still in business and feels
like a trip back to the 1920's, so if you've ever wanted to rock flapper gear and eat some
delicious food, check out the Savoy Grill!
Petrus
While Gordon Ramsay's restaurants range in what they offer from casual dining to Scottish
cuisine, etc. If you really want to experience the go-to food that best represents Gordon
Ramsay then you'll want to visit restaurants like Petrus, which serves Modern French Cuisine
(although it could be argued that Ramsay is more well known for Classical French Cuisine
as it was a trip to France in his youth that really solidified his vision and goals as
a chef). Located on Kinnerton Street in London, Petrus has held a Michelin star since 2011
and it's also been awarded five AA Rosettes. Petrus Opened in 2010 and was initially run
by Head Chef Sean Burbidge, who had worked in other Gordon Ramsay restaurants including
Restaurant Gordon Ramsay and Gordon Ramsay au Trianon.
La Noisette
Another French restaurant in London, England, it's clear that Ramsay has a niche in terms
of the type of cuisine he prefers to offer as well as the location that he starts most
of his restaurants. Located at 164 Sloane Street in London (obviously), the location
has a rich history of hosting multiple restaurants despite the fact that the building itself
only opened in the mid-1990's. Originally it was a private members-only club named Montes,
with a kitchen that was operated by celebrity chef after celebrity chef including Alain
Ducasse (who has been awarded multiple Michelin stars) and Jamie Oliver who oversaw chef Ben
O'Donoghue in the early 2000's. Purchased by Gordon Ramsay Holdings in 2005, it was
originally operated by Ian Pengelley who opened the eponymous Pengelley's which closed after
a year. It was then re-opened as La Noisette, with chef patron Bjorn van der Horst, where
it was awarded it's first Michelin star until it closed again in March of 2009. This restaurant
may be responsible for Ramsay's expansion into other physical locations as having multiple
Michelin stars winning restaurants that offer French cuisine in one city can be too much
of a good thing sometimes.
Verre
Verre, which is also known as Gordon Ramsay at the Hilton Dubai Creek, is one of Ramsay's
non-London based restaurants and is, spoiler alert, located within the Hilton in Dubai
Creek. It was the first restaurant that Ramsay opened outside of the UK, and was in business
for 10 years which is a lifetime in the restaurant world (as most restaurants fail within the
first five, which goes to show how amazing some of Ramsay's accomplishments are). Verre
was a joint venture between Gordon Ramsay Holdings and the Hilton itself, with Ramsay
taking a percentage of the profits each month and Hilton handling the staff salaries and
the layout of the restaurant. Perhaps not surprisingly, Ramsay disliked the decor of
the restaurant which caused problems with the management at that location and at Hilton
corporate, especially after Ramsay started paying the staff out of pocket to supplement
the low wages offered by Hilton corporate. Despite those problems, multiple top chefs
worked at Verre including Angela Hartnett and Jason Atherton who both ended up winning
Michelin stars when they returned to the UK. Verre was at one point also named the best
restaurant in the Middle East, which is means a lot when you have places like Dubai and
the United Arab Emirates, oil-rich countries with money to burn on fancy restaurants.
Union Street Cafe
Union Street Cafe was the first restaurant that opened after Ramsay had a falling out
with his father-in-law, who had been embezzling from the company and ended up getting charged
and convicted with the conspiracy to hack the internal records of Gordon Ramsay Holdings.
Again located in London, it moved away from Ramsay's typical go to (French cuisine) and
offered Mediterranean instead, the focus being on Italian dishes. The head chef is Davide
Degiovanni, whose name explains the cuisine, which is part of a menu that changed daily.
The restaurant originally had the financial backing of the most famous soccer player in
the world, David Beckham, which helped hype the place to the point that it had over 10,000
booking requests before the doors even opened. While Beckham actually didn't end up investing
in the restaurant, the hype surrounding his involvement was seemingly priceless. Beyond
that, the restaurant had over 2,500 booking requests in the first four hours of its websites
launch, as well, which helped the place stay fully booked until the end of its first year.
Launched in 2013, it's still in operation and considering it's ever-changing menu, it's
a place that you'll want to go and visit again and again (especially if you like Italian
food)!
Murano
Murano is yet another London, England restaurant that was opened in August of 2008 with both
Gordon Ramsay and chef Angela Harnett helming the cuisine. Another Michelin Star masterpiece,
the Murano has retained that star since it earned it back in 2014. In a review by Matthew
Norman of the Guardian, Murano was lauded as having staff service that was called "superb"
and food that was called "majestic". It also received an eight-and-a-half out of ten rating
by Jasper Gerard of The Telegraph. The fact that t is was helmed by a female head chef,
a rarity even in today's restaurant world, was also something that a lot of reviewers
pointed out with one going as far as to say that the cuisine proved all the "chauvinists
wrong" because of Hartnett's involvement. Ironically it's now helmed by a male chef
in Oscar Holgado, who has kept the quality going as it still retains it's Michelin star,
perhaps because Hartnett owns the restaurant as well and is heavily involved in it's day
to day. Take that, men who think women should stay in the kitchen but don't want ... A woman
in the kitchen?
Angela Hartnett at the Connaught
Speaking of Angela Hartnett... She's clearly earned her trust with Gordon Ramsay, in so
far that he's opened up a restaurant with her and even let her copy the way that he
names his restaurants. Located within the Connaught Hotel, this is a five-star restaurant
that first opened in 1815 as the Prince of Saxe Coburg Hotel, and was an off-shoot of
sorts in and of itself in that it was opened after Ramsay successfully launched another
restaurant within the Claridge hotel. Another Michelin star winner, the equity group initially
asked Ramsay to relocate his namesake restaurant into that location, as it was replacing the
legendary Connaught Restaurant that was run by chef Michel Bourdin for a quarter of a
century. The menu was described by Hartnett as having Mediterranean influences based on
her roots as an Italian, and is ironically one of the least Gordon-esque restaurants
on this list as Hartnett made a point to not simply copy her mentors food. That shows what
an innovator Hartnett is and what a great mentor Ramsay is, as despite what some may
think, his ego isn't so large that he insists on those he mentors do things exactly the
way he would do them.
Amaryllis
Amaryllis was a restaurant that opened in 2001 and closed in 2004. You may wonder why
a list of top restaurants includes restaurants that only lasted a few years, but the reality
of opening or starting a restaurant is extremely complicated as the restaurant industry is
actually one of the most difficult to succeed in even when you've got the name recognition
behind your restaurant that Ramsay has. Located in Glasgow, Scotland, Amaryllis received a
Michelin star in its second year of business, 2002, which it held until it closed in 2004.
Ramsay was actually born in Glasgow but was raised in Stratford-upon-Avon, and that's
why he wanted to open a restaurant in Scotland that featured cuisine from Scotland. The day-to-day
cooking was actually done by David Dempsey. As the chef de cuisine, Dempsey and Ramsay
took two years to find the proper location in Glasgow. They ended up finding it in the
One Devonshire Gardens hotel which is located in the west of the city. While it did retain
its Michelin star through its entirety, it perhaps failed because Dempsey ended up being
promoted to the head chef at Restaurant Gordon Ramsay and leaving Amaryllis. It was actually
fully booked on the weekends when it closed, and also was responsible for giving Ramsay
the most active Michelin stars of any chef in the world, but because of his high standards
(and the slow weeknight bookings), it closed in 2004 to the detriment of Scottish foodies
across the land.
Restaurant Gordon Ramsay
The aptly named Restaurant Gordon Ramsay is the first restaurant that Ramsay opened and
is definitely the most prestigious. Awarded three Michelin stars since it opened in 1998,
Restaurant Gordon Ramsay is located in London, England. Also known as Gordon Ramsay at Royal
Hospital Road, the restaurant does have some critics as well, namely from the Harden's
restaurant guide which has listed it as one of the most overpriced restaurants in the
UK as well as one of the most "most disappointing". Other guides disagree, like the Michelin guide
or the Good Food Guide, which lists Restaurant Gordon Ramsay as the second best restaurant
in the UK (after The Fat Duck which is located in Bray, Berkshire, which means that it lists
Restaurant Gordon Ramsay as the best restaurant in all of London (which by itself is a restauranteur's
dream)). If you find yourself in the UK and you're looking for classical or traditional
French cuisine, Restaurant Gordon Ramsay is a must visit, just remember to bring a credit
card with a high limit. Currently run by Larry Jayasekara (who won the 2016 National Chef
of the Year competition in the UK), the inside of the restaurant was designed by the same
people who designed the beautiful Savoy Grill and the York and Albany. In edition to it's
Modern French Cuisine, the wine list includes over 2,000 bottles. The food has been described
as "distinctly Gordon Ramsay in composition", which, again, makes it one of the best representations
of Ramsay's cuisine out there.

C&C YR Red Resurrection 2.2 Red Alert 2 - Final Allied Mission 12, Chrono Storm - Duration: 22:17.
Red Resurrection 2.2 for C&C Red Alert 2 Yuri's Revenge, Allied Campaign Mission 11 - Chrono Storm
Red Resurrection 2.2 is a mod for C&C Red Alert 2 Yuri's Revenge, using the ARES
Music - Frank Klepacki, KKnD, World Beyond and Pr0metheus Music
Mission Location - Moscow, USSR
For the best comfort, it is recommended to watch the video in Fullscreen
The staging area in the Florida has been secured together with Nuclear Missile Silos in Cuba disabled, Allies are ready to counter-attack.
The Soviets do not suspect that the Allies are ready to teleport all units across the Earth to attack just in the heart of Moscow near Kremlin.
But first, squad of three SEALs will be paradropped to make your main place for base, cleared from all of the Conscripts and Tesla Coils inside.
Once the SEALs are paradropped take out the Tesla Reactor inside the base and take care of the remaining Conscripts inside the base and focus on Coils.
With no Tesla Reactor and threat from Tesla Coils, Allies will send 8 IFVs using the Chronosphere - use IFV to gather some experience from the destroying the towers.
Deploy also your MCV in the center of the place, and focus on making the infantry to occupy the bunkers around with some Engineers to capture the tech buildings in proximity.
The 4 Derricks in the base, with additional two outside the base together with the Tech Airfield will be a very good addition to your economy and diversion tactics here.
The best method to eliminate the Nuclear Missile in this mission is obviously to take down the power - send your SEALs to the northeast corner of the map and then go south.
You will have to sacrifice two of the SEALs because of the Nuclear Reactor's explosion, when both of them are destroyed, the Soviets are permanently out of power.
Without the power, you can focus on eliminating the Soviet outposts near your base - make some armored units like Abrams and Bishops and push through, or use CLegs to erase Black Guard.
Obviously don't forget about the Kirov threat in this mission, Soviets will use plenty of them against you so have some IFVs for the mobile anti-air defence here.

For us it was important to get into something that people could relate to;
which I think is always going to be a challenge when trying to take the Forerunner language and create a character.
Making sure that his head stood out, that you could see it, that players had the ability to headshot it.
Also-also into animation;
They're hold up with the space in between them; which is some of the features that the architecture has;
which is big, massive buildings, like, floating: defying gravity.
We wanted to keep some of that mystery, and kind of the unknown in the characters as well.
We even have the little micro-driver arms in here;
and then all the way to where you turn these layers off and: the glowing skull.
We thought it would be more of an impact if it's like a sarcophagus;
it opens up and its showing all this aggression.
There's certain ways to approach fighting an Elite with a group of Grunts, and really what we wanted to do was change that up.
The Covenant are tried-and-true. You know what you're gonna get out of a Grunt,
you know what you're gonna from a Jackal with his shield, the toughness of Elites;
here are the brand-new hooks to the sandbox.
One of the things we needed to do when the Watcher design was coming along was make sure the Watcher would actually fit inside of the Knight;
that bursts out and swap to the actual Watcher asset.
The Watchers are aware of the Knight's damage; they'll protect 'em, they'll catch grenades, so they kinda coordinate their efforts.
The Prometheans feel like the most advanced of the bunch;
they're able to bring all of their technology and wisdm to the battlefield.
With new enemy class comes new weapon class.
We literally concepted, probably,
two hundred weapons for this game before we settled on the half a dozen that went in.
It's kind of like you've got that balance between human's model of what a weapon's like
and the desire to want and try to make something crazy and futuristic.
We tried coming up with this perfect mix of stuff that was still relatable:
you would still identify a weapon as a rifle, or a shotgun, or a submachine gun;
even though they're almost magical.
It works like the Battle Rifle when you're not scoped: it has a little spread, has a three-shot burst;
and it works like the DMR when you are scoped, so it's like a mini-sniper rifle in a way.
