Youtube daily report Jul 3 2018

This is the new Jumper EZBook X4 so this is replacing really the jumper 3L

pro because it has the new chip in it it's the successor we now have the

Gemini Lake which is 200 megahertz faster 2 megabytes more cache HDMI 2

support which this surprisingly has on it I didn't expect it because it wasn't

actually advertised anywhere by a jumper but well it does have faster RAM we've

only got 4 gigabytes of it so they've made some compromises obviously cost

reduction of the unit itself trying to get the the production cost down to

increase their margins perhaps or just keep it under that 300 u.s. price point

and that means - they went where they TN panel on this so it's not an IPS now

these images I'm showing you now you can see that the screen actually looks

alright the color reproduction and the colors and the blacks of the screen are

very good for a TN panel and if you do look at it straight on and you're

sitting down for example in a chair and you don't tend to move around then this

screen is usable it is fine but the moment you stand up or you're going to

show the screen to someone else that is standing up or in another position from

you then you obviously gonna run into problems here with these panels this is

what happens so it shifts out the TN panels so this is not great so we get

the 4 gigabytes of RAM the TN panel and we do have now a much better performance

really over the Apollo Lake so it is up 25% when you look at synthetic

benchmarks here so this is Geekbench for 19% more speeds on multi-core score and

it is noticeable too that it does feel just a little bit snappier quicker when

using the desktop we're moving around so editing things like spreadsheets Excel

spreadsheets Word documents that's all find a very large spreadsheet or

document will take a little while to load and it's not going to be the

fastest but definitely find their streaming 4k video YouTube not a problem

Amazon Prime or good Wireless range is good it does top out at 480 megabits per

second into the Intel widest ac30 165 with

Bluetooth 4 and playing back a very demanding file here so this is an ATV C

codec 10 but encoded with a very high bitrate of 140 movements per second

a few stutters at the start so it has the same HEV C codec and vp9 codec

hardware decoding support just like the Apollo Lake now onboard we also do have

a 37 watt hour battery now that's good for up to seven hours now this was a

best-case scenario so I put it into the battery saver mode I lowered down the

screen brightness and I only used it for gaming for about 1 hour YouTube for

about 2 hours of streaming now for about 1 hour of youtube streaming you're going

to lose approximately 12% battery so not quite as good as the 10% battery loss I

was getting with the apollo lake in 3450 with the jumper easy but 3 Pro which is

a very similar model just a slightly smaller one than in this model here so

if you're gaming then that's going to be reduced to about 4 hours battery life so

it's not brilliant so mixed results with the battery I think you can expect about

6 hours 7 hours max it's not amazing but it's still I feel is good now we do have

USB 3 ports either side they will power external hard drives they have no issues

with that I tested up to 4 terabytes and it's fine no problems it didn't

disconnect or anything like that which did happen on some of the old models

with the Apollo Lakes on him now they micro SD card readers only USB to speed

unfortunately so it's just wired up values to be too hard and not USB 3

which I'd like to see and as you can see the cards they sit in nice and flush and

click in place so you shouldn't lose them now these are book x4 comes with 4

gigabytes of RAM double data rate 4 and it is running a dual channel 2.4

gigahertz and you also know that Windows 10 is fully activated no problems there

with the license it was an older build of upgraded to the latest one and charge

times its take approximately three hours to fully

charge it so it's not the fastest 12 volts charging as the rate that it will

charge it and they do have this nice little label on the top here now as an

addition so we can distinguish the difference between the 3.5 millimeter

headphone jack with microphone support by the way and in the DCN so that's a

nice touch there so the HDMI port wasn't advertised anywhere by jumper that it

was HDMI to so this was a pleasant surprise because I really hate running

my 4k monitor at only 30 Hertz which was the case with the Apollo Lakes the

previous generation so the easy book 3-hour pro only 30 Hertz the Apollo

takes all 30 Hertz only at 4k us now we've got 60 Hertz which means

everything's nice and smooth and that is a really good improvement there so the

keyboard backlit now it is really the same keyboard as the previous model but

they've just got it and silver now I don't really agree with the tone of

silver they have used here because at certain angles it will actually be quite

difficult to see those keys and it really forces you to turn on the

backlight which will of course eat into a little bit of your precious battery

life you know it's a two stage backlight so we've got a low setting a full-on

brightness setting which is the one I tend to always use so I can see the keys

better and then off typing on the keyboard very good it is again as

mentioned it's just like the they take last if7 keyboard as well it's the same

exact model the same original design manufacturer so very good cubed keyboard

a little bit of flex there but not enough to be an issue and the same again

goes for the touchpad so it's a Windows precision driver controlled touchpad

with jesters and it does work well the mouse cursor sometimes isn't quite as

accurate as I will like it to be but very very minor complaint here and I

really as overall a large touchpad and a good touchpad considering the price of

this laptop it even beats some of those gaming touch pads you get that uneven

precision ones and quite horrible this one is good at least now on the bottom

you will notice that the flap there for the SSD if you want to install one what

actually one pre-installed 128 gigabytes is now

longer compared to the previous model and that's because it will take up to 20

to 80 in size which is a good move here so that's another improvement here that

jumper have come through or the new model now for linux support I did test

out the latest build of a Linux Mint with the 18.04 kernel and this distro is

working fine everything works the wireless controlling the brightness the

display but the mouse buttons for some strange and odd reason aren't working do

expect that actually to be fixed hopefully sometime soon and then you

have fault linux support for this model which is really good now when it comes

to audio performance the 3.5 millimeter jack is clear I have noticed that

sometimes a little bit of a pop noise will come through when the sound first

turns on that can be a little bit irritating there was a fix for that on

the politics and even the Correa's that were doing that so I believe that we

should be able to fix that through drivers the speaker's well they're not

brilliant I will give you a sample of them I wish they were just a little bit

louder but they do do the job and the speaker location well they're located

actually just in here we have four of them so two here and in another two

right there

and then the webcam so it's a 720p webcam with dual ray microphones either

side I'll give you a sample of that in just a minute but you will see that it

is at least a 30 frames per second 720p tweet webcam and not limited to 15 like

some of the older ones so it gives to rock around a little bit because of this

green wobble it does well but a little bit when you type on it now if I type

you can still hear those keys in the feedback and you're also here through

the mics you hear that there's this interference that's just there in the

background which is slightly annoying now I don't know whether that is drivers

it could be my unit it's there and it's not great to hear that now when you take

a look at the internals you'll see there's a large copper heatsink on here

but that still did not stop me running into what I would call rather high

temperatures 93 degrees that's not too far away from running into thermal

throttling which I think will trigger at probably about 95 degrees now checking

out gaming performance so it has the Intel UHD 600 this is an integrated

graphics card it's not dedicated it is not powerful it's very weak just like

the Apollo Lakes it is really the same exact architecture just a slight tweak

in the frame rate and the boost from the round really is what is helping that

frame rate so it is up a little bit and games like League of Legends you can see

here we're getting a modest frame rate 1080p medium settings definitely

playable this one here moving over now then to counter-strike it's at 720p on

the lowest settings and not playable really it's just a bit too choppy and

even though you might be able to get a lucky kill or headshot you can't really

gain well or this kind of framerate so it's not for demanding games but even so

I still decided to test out project cars here you can see and horrendous frame

rate so 5 frames per second to about 6 or 7 complete and utter stuttery leggy

mess that you cannot play so triple-a titles things like that if you want to

play the latest Call of Duty game modern warfare whatever it's not gonna work

clearly this is only for older lighter titles likely

your legions and your old games like half-life 2 okay so let me just recap

here because I know that some of you just skip right to the end to the

conclusion so we have a very decent build quality there's only one point

three seven kilos in weight and the team panel yes it's going to be a

deal-breaker for some people so if you don't always look at your screens

straight on and this kind of vertical viewing angle is an issue for you

clearly do not go for this model here the same goes for four gigabytes of RAM

if you feel that that's not going to be enough wait for an 8 gigabyte model that

hopefully will be coming in the future I think tech class is going to be

releasing one the USB 3 ports it will power external hard drives we've got

HDMI to support which is really good to see SSD Bay now goes up to 20 to 80 in

size but you will have to remove the whole back and then adjust that little

clip there so you can fit it in but it's very minor and really good to see again

that jumper have allowed us to use the larger SSDs in this we've cam qualities

alright speaker quality not really that brilliant very life I would say is good

not amazing it really depends on what you're doing so if you're pushing it

very hard they speak to about 5 hours if you're going very lightly on it so just

maybe edge use spreadsheets things like that nothing really demanding then you

can squeeze it out to about seven and a half hours which is very decent so

overall as a package almost forgot thermals ok 93 degrees yeah that's

getting hot could just be my unit and that was only when gaming when it's

doing this so I think I might have to do a thermal model on this copper heatsink

mod and just address those thermals perhaps a repay switch you should never

have to do so that isn't wonderful to see that but apart from all of that I

feel for the price the backlit keyboard you get the touchpad it is a decent

package but I really do want to see more from jumper I hope they're watching this

video I'd like to see them use an IPS panel give us an 8 gigabyte RAM option

take a look at the thermals if it's not just my unit and then we have probably

the best budget laptop you can get for the money thank you so much for watching

Sweden and Switzerland go head to head in the penultimate last-16 clash of the World Cup

The Swedes' stern defence and steel made them formidable in the group stages, while the tenacity and willing shown by Switzerland will mean we are in for a mouthwatering clash in St

Petersburg. The winner will play against either Colombia or England, who go toe-to-toe in the 7pm (BST) kick-off, in the quarter-final on Saturday

Jenas: 'He is the creator in that team. We all know about him and he has started the competition off very well

He's always looking to create things and play on the front foot. He tries to make things happen for his side

' 14:37 What a stat  Gary Lineker has pulled another fantastic stat out of the bag by revealing Switzerland have never won a knockout match in their history

They have also never won back-to-back games at the World Cup.  Gary Lineker's notes 14:32 Look at the size of those calves  Shaqiri is known for his goalscoring ability and creativity as well as the size of his calves

I'm surprised they fit into those socks! He's definitely going to be one to watch in today's game

He's in the shop window at the moment with Stoke keen on cashing in on the playmaker with Liverpool said to be keen

14:18 Switzerland make four changes  Switzerland have also been forced into making changes as Fabian Schar and captain Stephan Lichtsteiner are serving one-match bans

Johan Djourou, Steven Zuber, Josip Drmic and Michael Lang all come into the starting line-up as Switzerland make four changes

14:12 Larsson out, Svensson in  Sweden make one forced change with the suspended Seb Larsson dropping out with Gustav Svensson taking his place in their engine room

14:06 The teams are in.  Sweden XI to face Switzerland: Olsen, Lustig, Lindelof, Granqvist, Augustinsson, Claesson, Svensson, Ekdal, Forsberg, Berg, Toivonen  Switzerland XI to face Sweden: Sommer, Lang, Djourou, Akanji, Rodriguez, Behrami, Xhaka, Shaqiri, Dzemaili, Zuber, Drmic 14:01 The players are in the building  The players have arrived at Saint-Petersburg Stadium with just one hour to go until kick-off

I'll bring you the team news as soon as it comes out. 13:57 Switzerland's route to the knockout stage  Switzerland have shown they hard to beat by drawing 1-1 with tournament favourites Brazil

They then beat Serbia despite conceding a goal in the fifth minute before continuing their unbeaten run with a 2-2 draw with Costa Rica

Shaqiri scored in the 90th minute in Switzerland's 2-1 win over Serbia so they are a team who will compete until the final whistle

13:48 Sweden's route to the knockout stage  Sweden made rival teams stand up and take notice of them when they beat Mexico 3-0 in their last Group F game

Before that they opened their campaign up with a 1-0 win over South Korea and they were incredibly unlucky to lose 2-1 to Germany when Toni Kroos scored with seconds left on the clock

13:37 Sweden made right choice in dumping Ibrahimovic  I was mightily disappointed when I heard Zlatan Ibrahimovic had been left out of Sweden's World Cup squad

His arrogance, character and sheer ability was a joy to watch during his brief stint in the Premier League

However, I have to agree with my colleague Amitai Winehouse when he says Sweden look a better side without Ibrahimovic's shadow lurking over the starting forwards

Amitai writes: 'At some point, the world is going to stop listening to Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Thankfully, Sweden have already moved beyond him. 'There was a time when the now-veteran striker and professional rent-a-quote felt like he was worth paying attention to

' Click HERE to read Sportsmail's long read on the LA Galaxy striker 13:28 Cat opts for Switzerland  The latest animal to predict a World Cup result by choosing one flag over another is a

cat.   Achilles the cat, that lives in St. Petersburg's Hermitage museum, has predicted Switzerland will eliminate Sweden to progress to the last eight of the World Cup

Let's see if Achilles is right! 13:24 The expected starting line-ups  Our Sweden and Switzerland experts have had a look at the two 23-man squads and have suggested this is how they will line up:  SWEDEN (4-4-2, probable): Olsen; Lustig, Lindelof, Granqvist, Augustinsson; Claesson, Svensson, Ekdal, Forsberg; Berg, Toivonen  SWITZERLAND (4-2-3-1, probable): Sommer; Lang, Djourou, Akanji, Rodriguez; Behrami, Xhaka; Shaqiri, Dzemaili, Zuber; Drmic 13:22 Hello and welcome

It's the day we've all been waiting for as England face Colombia in the last-16 stage of the World Cup

But first all eyes are on Sweden and Switzerland as they tussle it out in St. Petersburg

Remember the winner of this tie could face England (fingers crossed I don't jinx it) so it's worth taking a close look at this knockout fixture

Premier League stars Victor Lindelof, Granit Xhaka and Xherdan Shaqiri (who was relegated to the Championship with Stoke but has been linked with an immediate return to the top-flight) are all expected to start for their respective sides

So get yourself a cup of tea, sit back and let me guide you through what hopefully will be another classic at this World Cup

Max Domi arrives in Montreal as a Hab - Duration: 2:09.

Honestly, I got texts from probably 15 guys from around the league - past and present players -

and they were all like, "Man, that's my favorite place to play,"

or "That was my favorite place to play."

And I was thinking to myself, like, "Man, that it's my favorite place to play too."

It's a great city to come to and it's the best atmosphere.

I've been wanting to play in a market like this for a long time.

Like, you have no idea how pumped I am.

It's... It's unreal.

I wake up and I'm like, "Oh my God, is this real life?"

It's just so cool.

So I wore 13 my whole life growing up.

My favorite player was never my dad.

Number one was always Mats Sundin.

I mean, I still talk to Mats; he's like family to me.

He's pretty much like an uncle.

I asked him if it was cool for a Domi to wear 13 in Montreal in a Habs jersey,

and he said, "Of course."

P.K. Subban's little brother Jordan is one of my best friends

and I remember watching P.K. play at the Bell Centre.

The atmosphere was just electrifying,

and I always said, "Man I want to play in that game one day.

Like, that is so cool."

A bunch of the guys that have been here for a long time who I don't actually know have reached out,

which was really really nice.

A guy like Shawzy.

Phillip Danault obviously.

I spoke to Shea Weber, which was pretty cool.

He's a guy I looked up to even before I was a pro hockey player.

Jo Drouin -- we go way back.

I mean, I've played against Jo all the way growing up, even way back at the Brick Tournament.

Just reaching out, even with a, "Hey, welcome to the team" kind of thing, and, "we're happy to have you"...

That kind of text goes a long way. It makes you feel pretty comfortable.

[What jersey is your dad going to be wearing in the stands?]

Oh he's a Habs fan.

Oh yeah.

Fully, fully committed. Yep.

Bonjour Montréal.

I just landed in Montreal for the first time, as a Hab.

This is awesome.

I haven't been able to stop smiling the whole time, so...

I'm super pumped to be here and I can't wait to see everyone.

Merci.

【MMD】 Solar System Disco (ENG/RUS sub)【60 FPS】 - Duration: 3:24.

Under the glittering light

Of the first star

Shall we dance together

To the rhythm of our own solar system

We will time our steps

Star!

Oy-o-oy! Oy-o-oy! Oy-o-oy! Oy-o-oy!

Lambada, rumba

We meet in two universes

I cannot sleep full of delusions

Every star becomes a constellation and mixes

Sut there is no light to replace you

I found you that day

Dehind the school building

Even now you`re a miracle to me

Next to me pluto seems to be blooming

Too bad, I`m no longer interested in that

The star are dancing

My heart is thumping

I start to notice...

Under the glittering light of the first star

Shall we dance together

My solar system by the laws of nature

Is encouraged to gently intersect

Star!

Oy-o-oy!

Join the interstellar line

Oy-o-oy!

Giving it to you

Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha!

Someday i`ll sadly forget about them

I want to ask them even now

About the dark world that asks for a supernove

It`s strange i already don`t care about it anymore

Somehow there

Was nothing

Among the stars...

The light can no longer

Reach as far as the first star

In my solar system

Even the laws of nature get broken

Even so "It`s still good!"

Raise your hands!

So, now i`m asking you what do you think

Of living life coldly

Hey, how many lightyears would you travel

For real love

Would you really like to dance

Under the light of that shimmering star

Here, water is gold

Earth is fire

Trees reach into the sky

The two galaxies

Cleared up

Superstar Eta Carinae Shoots Cosmic Rays - Duration: 2:09.

[Music throughout]

Eta Carinae is a massive binary system 7,500 light-years away.

[X-ray view]

Its two stars are 90 and 30 times the Sun's mass and orbit each other every 5.5 years.

New X-ray observations from NASA's NusSTAR mission show that their interaction

creates cosmic rays by accelerating particles to nearly the speed of light.

Both stars are so hot and bright they shed matter in the form of outflows called stellar winds.

The smaller star's faster, thinner wind carves a tunnel through the primary's slow, thick outflow.

Where these winds collide, shockwaves accelerate particles, some of which crash into starlight.

The collision ramps up the light's energy into X-ray or even gamma-ray territory.

We detect cosmic ray particles at Earth. But because they're electrically charged

they wander in the presence of magnetic fields. This means we can't tell where they're coming from.

Now, thanks to NuSTAR, we know Eta Carinae is producing cosmic rays.

It's more than a superstar.

It's a cosmic ray gun.

Can I Paint With a Fountain Pen? - How to Draw a Medieval Town - Narrated - Duration: 4:22.

Hello my friends and welcome to another Tuesday of tutorial!

I am Leonardo Pereznieto and today we will draw a beautiful town

in Italy called San Gimignano.

We will position the biggest tower at about one third of our paper,

one third from the left, I mean.

From there we draw the other towers.

I'm using brown ink on a Justus 95 fountain pen.

San Gimignano is a Medieval town with lots of towers.

It is very picturesque.

And it is built on a hill.

Let's draw the top of this tower over here… and then we can begin shading.

I´ll shade the right side, pretty much of everything

as we consider the light coming from the left.

Lower than the towers, are the houses and buildings.

Sometimes they can be two or three story buildings… but they still are

much lower than the towers.

Now I switch to a fountain pen with green ink, to draw the trees.

This is a Pilot Falcon fountain pen.

Both the Justus at the Falcon are great pens for drawing because they are

pressure sensitive. That is, if you press, they make a wider mark.

The list with all exact materials I used, including the inks, are in the description

below the video.

Generally, the inks of the fountain pens are not water resistant.

So if we put water on them, it will run. Which we will do, looking for a painterly

effect, in a little bit.

In this area of Italy, called the Tuscany, there are a lot of Cypress trees.

Which are these slender and tall tree of the family of the pine.

As you saw with the brown ink I reinforced some of the trees and plants

to break a little bit the uniformity of the green.

And we give a tone to the roofs and towers.

Now, yet with another pen with blue ink, let's give a tone to the sky.

I´m using the Vanishing Point fountain pen.

We could leave our drawing like this which could be a lot safer, but since

these tutorials are all about showing you different techniques, let's do something

dangerous and exciting [laughter].

With the soft brush and water we melt the ink, as it we were painting.

We can control it with a tissue paper, so that it doesn't drip everyone.

Let's use a much finer brush for the buildings.

Obviously the more water you use, the more the ink runs.

As you see the brown ink becomes reddish.

And I want to give to the sketch a rough finish,

so I will not fill in everything perfectly, but I will leave some blank spots.

With a wider brush, let's give a wash to the hill.

All right! [laughter] nice!

I think there is a little bit too much white on top, so I´ll add a little bit

more blue.

Good!

Once upon a time, there was a big rivalry between the powerful families

of this little town, and everyone wanted to built the tallest tower.

So that is why they sprang like mushrooms [laughter].

After the wash we can reestablish the detail as needed.

And its ready!

If you enjoyed it please give it a LIKE! share it to your friends and subscribe to

Fine Art-Tips.

And I will see you, on Tuesday ;)

Episode 5: Art | Building a TTRPG - Duration: 11:24.

Hey everybody! M. S. Farzan here and in this video, I'd love to talk to you about

art for the Entromancy role-playing game. Art is such a funny and interesting

topic for me in that I'm in love with different types of art, specifically

fantasy and sci-fi, yet I'm a terrible artist! I have literally no graphic

design talent or skill as you can probably see by the graphical elements

in these videos that you've been watching, but I have an image in

my mind of what Entromancy - as a world, and the

characters in the Entromancy fiction - what they look like

and translating that is so difficult for me because I've been writing about them

but I have no artistic skill so I have no way of really displaying to someone

what they look like! Fortunately, I know a really great artist!

I'll link you to some of her her work in the comments below, in the description

below this video. And she has been able to actualize and realize the ideas that

have been in my head of what these characters look like, about

what this world looks like, about what the Entromancy fiction would look like if

it were to come to life on paper in illustrations. So we know that we need

art for the the role-playing game, and we know that that consists of illustrations,

it consists of logos, it consists of layout design - and I'll talk about the

layout and the design of the book in a future video; right now I

just want to talk about art in terms of illustrations and deciding on a

direction for the art for the Entromancy role-playing game. My artist, who is

really good, really experienced, and really smart as you can see from

her images, the first thing that she wanted us to do is concept how is

the game going to look like, how are the characters going to look like, from a

mood perspective, creating what is called a "mood board." Generally, when you create

any piece of art in the video games industry, for example, or in marketing,

you'll do what's called a "creative brief." You might sit down with your partners in

the group or with your team members or with the artists themselves and you'll

create what's called a creative brief, meaning it has an idea of what is the

mood of the piece that you're trying to make, what is the piece going to be used

for, what are some examples of the competitive pieces that might give

the artist an example that they can look at, what are essential design elements.

what are the colors, you know, those sort of things, giving the artists or the

art team an idea of what you're looking for with as much specificity as possible

so that they can hopefully create something that looks well

enough for you either on the first attempt or the second temp or the third

attempt without having to do a bunch of versioning because you just said, "I want

a picture of an elf!" And they come back with a Keebler Elf, and you're like, "I

meant a Lord of the Rings elf!" And then they have to go back and forth

and design again and design again! You're trying to slim down that process as much

as possible by providing them with enough information to go on

from the outset. So I created sort of like a creative brief for the artist

and she encouraged me to put together a mood board, essentially drawing images

from the internet whether they be similar to the characters that we have

in our game, or similar to the environment, or even just colors, anything

that could encourage her to look at examples that could actually be in our

game if they were tweaked or if they were reproduced in a way that felt more

natural for our setting, which is a cyberpunk setting set in San Francisco

in 2076. So I sent her a bunch of examples, mostly for the characters, and

some environments, and let me just say that she's really good at what she does

so she was able to reproduce some concepts that look pretty genuine. I'll

share a few of these with you at the end of this video. And some of

these concepts that I sent over are like just me Googling "cyberpunk" or

"cyberpunk characters" or or looking at competitive titles like Shadowrun or

looking at maybe Googling something like "futuristic elves" or I can't remember

exactly what I sent to her, but she was able to kind of create a pastiche from

all of these different examples, and then with my own feedback about who are the

characters in the Entromancy novels, who are the characters - the

character classes in the Entromancy role-playing game. So sharing with her

specifics about the classes and how they work, what are descriptions of the

classes both in the book and in the game, and she was able to reproduce some

really cool stuff. I know I said that I would talk about layout

later but I think this is also germane to the discussion: is that with my layout

designer, we looked at a lot of different color concepts and color ways and a lot

of other images - some of the same images regarding cyberpunk - but

trying to identify a mood board or almost like a style guide for the

Entromancy role-playing game. And where we've landed on that, that influences both

design and layout, is that it's a cyberpunk game, and the Entromancy

series is a cyberpunk fiction - science fiction and urban fantasy series, but

it's a bit more urban fantasy than it is like glam and glitz cyberpunk if that

makes sense? It definitely finds its influences in

things like Shadowrun and things like the Matrix and it has some of the Harry

Dresden - The Dresden Files - urban fantasy in it. It definitely also finds

some of its experience in Neuromancer, although not as

high-tech. I mean, there's definitely some high tech in there,

and hacking, and all of that good stuff that you expect with cyberpunk, but

the design direction for it is very much grounded in urban fantasy as

well as cyberpunk, and an interesting thing that we took away from all of the

research that we've done, between myself the artist and the layout designer, is

that not only does cyberpunk have a lot of grittiness to it, juxtaposed

underneath a lot of neon, whether it be neon blue or neon green or neon pink.

whatever, cyberpunk has a lot of that, so we want to keep a lot of that good stuff,

but it also is very futuristic with a throwback to the 80s. There's a lot of

80s stuff in cyberpunk fiction, in cyberpunk illustrations, in cyberpunk

art and drawings, and design, and we want to twist that a little bit, because

we want to differentiate ourselves from every other cyberpunk game that is out

there. And I think our game is doing that, and our fiction is doing that in a

really powerful way, and we want our art to do that in the same way, so we're

going, rather for cyberpunk 80s, we're going for cyberpunk 90s. So a lot of - and

we'll see exactly how this pans out as this is all work in progress as you can

see by the images here - but taking influence from the 80s for conventional

cyberpunk, and kind of shifting that into the 90s. So more like, high tops! More

high-top shoes, more maybe like bubble graffiti art type stuff, more colors and

color swatches that engender the feeling of hip-hop 90s, mixed with

cyberpunk, rather than just doing a traditional 80s cyberpunk where you have

stuff that feels very neon, and also very maybe very industrial, very new wave,

we kind of shift that so that it's a bit more softer, a little bit more round;

the colors are a little bit more specific to the 90s in terms of the

throwback element of the cyberpunk. And of course running through

that is the urban fantasy that is very much part of the Entromancy fiction.

It's a really interesting process! It's kind of strange for me having

written the book a while ago and now kind of diving back into what was the

original vision for the book, so that we can transpose that onto art and

create illustrations and characters that are specific to that original vision, but

it's also really awesome! It's a really interesting experience and I'm

really grateful to have artists and a layout designer that are able to

put to paper what I have in my mind about what the book looks like,

what the characters look like, and what the game looks like in terms of

illustrations and layout. Like I said, we'll talk more about layout and logos

and all that stuff later, but here's a glimpse into one of the characters,

the character classes, in the Entromancy a role-playing game. This is very much

FPO or work-in-progress art, and it will be integrated very differently into the

the final game, but I want to give you a glimpse as to what the Revolutionary

class in the game looks like. She's based on Vasshka Lestrage, who

is a character in the Entromancy fiction, if you've read the

first book. Very awesome, very BA, very

gunslinger-slash-western, mixed with cyberpunk, mixed with she's a dwarf so

she's awesome, and very nimble - you should read the book you'll

learn a lot more about her than just what I'm presenting to you in this

video. But yeah, kind of like a little bit of the idea of what we're going for in terms

of very heavy inks, sort of stylized rather than photorealistic,

and yeah! I hope you enjoy it, and like I said, it's a work in progress so there's

a lot more to be done with it. It doesn't really represent the colors that we'll

be seeing in the book but hopefully with the other images that

you've seen in this video you'll kind of be able to start piecing together what

we're going for. And we'll have more to share soon! Thanks so much for watching!

How To Ride Loose Corners On A Mountain Bike | MTB Skills - Duration: 3:40.

- Loose corners can be slow, frustrating, painful,

and really hard to master.

So let's look at a few things.

'Cause hopefully you can help us do it.

(electronic dubstep music)

But what do I mean by loose corners, first?

Well, we're here in lovely, sunny Scotland.

Just outside Fort William.

And we're on the trail center.

So you see these type of turns on trail centers,

bike parks, places where people have man made the trails.

So this is a nice berm,

but actually, it's really hard packed

and there's loads of little stones

that have fallen out of it.

That makes it super loose

and it's hard to get any grip in corners like this.

But where are you gonna find

the best of the grip in these turns?

Well, all these little stones,

they sort of pull out of the corner.

And they're all gonna drop to the bottom,

especially if it's bermed up like this.

So really it's trying to stay high on that turn.

It is gonna make it that bit grippier.

But not always.

You really have to look around the turns

and try and plan your lines.

You might find, like this corner, for example,

it actually goes quite flatter down.

So I want to make sure I've done

as much as my cornering as early as possible

so I'm not trying to turn hard in this loose stuff here.

And I'm definitely not thinking about going inside,

because it's really hard packed.

These pebbly stuff on top is just like marbles.

Gettin' off the brakes is super important in corners

generally, but it's super super important

when it comes to loose corners.

Down there it's almost kitty litter

so it's gonna be hard to get any grip.

And I've actually got quite a steep roll into this bit,

but it's quite rough and rocky.

Actually means I can use those sort of collisions,

those edges to help slow me down a bit.

So I'm gonna get up high on the bike,

heels down, really drive the bike into those bumps.

Get on the brakes as hard as I can.

Let off and then try and roll through this whole corner

as smoothly and as off the brakes as much as I can.

If you have to hit the brakes,

you're likely to lose grip and pretty likely to crash.

That's not to say that you can always come off the breaks.

Sometimes the corner is on a bank

and it's just steep enough

that you're gonna need to slow down at the same time.

So this is all about being super gentle

with those braking inputs.

Good line choice of being smooth on the brakes

is all good and well,

but eventually you're gonna get it wrong.

This is mountain biking.

We all do it, of course.

And I've just done it on this section of turns here.

So this first corner actually flattens off in the middle

and I run a little bit wide.

That means I'm completely off line with the second corner.

So I've actually tried to rely on a bit of the slides

to help me turn because I'm not gonna make it.

I've really gotta get that bike turning super hard.

I've got to try and predict how much I'm gonna slide

and where I'm gonna grip to make sure I don't fall off.

So like I talk about a lot with cornering technique,

I try and look towards the exit.

It's still really important.

I've got a big 180 turn here

so I'm glancing over my shoulder

to see where the trail goes.

But actually I'm gonna concentrate myself a little bit.

So this type of corner is really tricky.

My line is so important that actually I'll come back.

I'll then start looking sort of mid corner.

So maybe 10 or 12 ahead of myself.

Just so I absolutely nail this,

'cause an inch one way or the other

could be going over the top.

Or I could be sliding down into that loose gravely stuff.

I'm really losing any grip I've got.

So there's a few tips on how to ride some loose turns.

To be honest, I'm not sure you ever quite master them.

They're always changing.

So even if you're riding the same track all the time,

they can be different.

But it is a good feeling when you get 'em nailed.

You're just to the point of drifting

and you still got two feet on the pedals.

That does feel really good.

If you want to see a video

that goes into some cornering skills,

a bit more in depth,

click over there for that one.

Give us a thumbs up 'cause I like seeing 'em.

And I'm gonna finish this trail off.

"We are victims of stereotypes !" SJW-Post modern ideology propaganda/far-left - Duration: 2:46.

"Noire n'est pas mon métier".

It's the title of the book where many black actresses, including Aissa Maiga or Sonia Rolland

Are telling the offensive situations they went through.

The 16 lot of them gathered, this evening, at Cannes for the climbing of the festival's stairs.

Are the black actors, male and female likewise, underrepresented or stuck with grotesque roles in the french movies ?

Is the french cinema industry a model of diversity ?

To find an answer, we analysed the casting of 259 movies launched in 2017.

How many roles were assigned to black actors ?

And the importance of said roles ?

We opened the eye.

Is the big screen too pale ? [racist assumption btw]

In 2017, among the 2617 attributed roles in the french cinema ...

... 171 were given to actors "seen as black" as described by the superior consul of the Institut de l'audiovisuel.

31 of them are lead roles.

In this book : "Noire n'est pas mon métier".

16 black actresses are describing the cliché they are going through.

And the stereotypical roles they are given.

At Cannes, we met two of them.

They are denouncing the lack of risk taking of some filmmakers who are giving much too often the same roles.

"It's true there are some stereotypes following the black actresses."

"Which are the prostitute, the nanny, the 'mama',..."

"Those are everlasting clichés. Generations after the other. It's not new."

"Often, when we are seeing a black on tv, there must be a justification for his color skin."

"There are even filmmakers trying to suggest black actors but it would appear the character being black isn't justify in scenarios."

"That's a shame."

We also noticed it during our analysis.

Black actors playing, of course, in movies with african themes, like this one ...

Telling the story of a coup in a fictional country.

Or, here, in a suburb.

In this scene, the protagonist is representing a list for the municipal election.

This casting director claims it's the repetition of such role being the issue.

" 'As long there'll be black cleaning ladies and black prostitutes.' "

" 'I don't know why we should forbid ourselves to suggest black people for such roles' "

"That's not the problem. It's why always such roles ?"

"It's as long as social fabric is changing in life, it also changes in movies."

"However, it's a little bit slow." ['progressism' being too slow, as usual]

However, according to the actresses we interviewed, the situation is improving.

The roles are being more diverse.

Shall 2018 become diversity year for the french cinema ?

Answer in a few months.

The Origins and History of the Disney College Program - Duration: 8:06.

Every year thousands of students across the country and across the globe make their way

to Walt Disney World and Disneyland for an internship experience.

It's called the Disney College Program.

The Disney College Program as we know it today formally began in 1981, however it wasn't

the first time Disney would work with colleges in their theme parks.

So to really begin we actually have to go back nearly ten more years to 1972, because

that is when Disney established the Disney Entertainment Work Experience Program.

(They start to sing "This Land is Your Land" in Tomorrowland for some reason.)

As the name implies, it was a work experience program for college students who had a primary

focus in the performing arts.

Students in the program would spend 12 weeks over the summer working at either Disneyland

or Walt Disney World as an entertainer in one of multiple groups.

These groups included the All-American College Marching Band, the All-American College Singers,

the All-American College Players, and a musical group called The Kingdom Kids.

I guess they had finally run out of "All-American College" names.

Similar to the College Program today, the work experience program supplemented their

days at the parks with training sessions and offered college credits by the end of the

three months.

The sessions focused on voice, movement, composition and acting.

Students were given a housing grant and were also paid a stipend for the duration of the summer.

I wasn't able to get a number for the earlier years, but by 1976 the stipend was $1000,

which adjusted for inflation would be just around $4,500 today.

Now while the Disney Entertainment Work Experience Program shared some similarities to today's

Disney College Program, one area where it differed greatly is scale.

It was estimated that around 3,000 students would audition for spots in the program every

year, and of those 3,000 Disney would select the best 100 students.

It was a small program, but it wasn't going to remain small for long.

"The Disney College Program is a unique opportunity. You can live, learn, and earn by working for one of the

most exciting and innovative entertainment companies in the world.

If you're looking for a program that could possibly change your life, that could prepare you for

whatever kind of future you've got in mind, choose the Disney College Program. Live the Disney difference

and you'll be the one who makes the magic happen!"

In 1980 Disney decided to test a pilot program for what would eventually become today's

Disney College Program.

The company reached out to the University of Georgia, the University of North Carolina,

and the University of Alabama, and from those three universities they accepted 250 students

who would work at The Magic Kingdom.

The program, similar to the Work Experience Program, offered college credits and supplemented

their employment with training seminars on business management the Disney way.

They felt it was a natural balance to offset the fact that for many students, the day to

the day work they'd be doing at The Magic Kingdom wouldn't particularly relate to

their chosen major.

The seminars however would offer a general enough education in the world of business

that it would, in theory, benefit most of the students.

During this pilot Disney was also testing the waters with an international variant of the program.

Disney was just two years away from opening EPCOT Center, and they had plans to staff

the various international pavilions with cast members from the actual countries the pavilions

were based on.

And so Disney got a head start on the process by bringing over just 8 international students that year.

Obviously with EPCOT Center still a couple of years off they, too, worked at the Magic Kingdom.

The program was well received by the students and worked out well for Disney, and so the

very next year in 1981 it formally launched as The Magic Kingdom College Program.

It was expanded to over 40 schools in the US, however that initial year they still only

accepted around 250 applicants.

The international branch, however, was expanded from 8 people to a whopping 15.

All of these students had to live somewhere, and so as a semi-temporary solution Disney

leased a trailer park in Kissimmee.

It was outfitted with trailers that were new, albeit barebone, and the location was renamed

to Snow White Village.

Now just think about that for a second.

You had students taking time out of their school year, and in some cases traveling halfway

around the world to live in a trailer park in central Florida where they spent most of

their days working typical day jobs at a theme park.

It doesn't sound like the kind of program that would be a major success, but the truth

is, it was. Students love it. Why?

Well on the surface level, it was a lot of fun.

For many, they were getting to experience a new part of the country while working and

playing at a Disney theme park.

They were also making friends from both within the states and from overseas.

In fact, that was one of the other goals of bringing over international students to work

at EPCOT Center.

Disney hoped that the experience would create long lasting friendships, with the idea that

one day these kids might be business or world leaders who have these global bonds thanks

to their time at Disney.

Beyond that there was an inherent value to the program when it came to their professional future.

Even though operating rides might not have had much relevance to their chosen field of

study, having the Disney name attached to their work history was worth something.

Disney's management style had gained such a great reputation that outside companies

were actually hiring Disney to teach them how to run their own company more like Disney.

So for many students, being able to put their work experience with Disney on their resumes

or CVs was a pretty big deal.

Not to mention there were many then, as there are many today, who use the Disney College

Program as a first step in a long-term career with The Walt Disney Company.

It's like a dream achievement for so many people.

Man, imagine. You get to be an intern, you become a princess at Disney World, and then our poor interns

What do they get to be?

They get to sit in the back room here at 4th and Market

They get you coffee! They get you the skinny vanilla latte-

Now THAT is career advancement right there.

So with the success of the program, it continued to grow.

The following year EPCOT Center would open, prompting the number of American students

to rise to 350 and the international students to rise to 85.

The name would eventually be changed in 1984 to the Walt Disney World College Program

and then again in 2005 it would be renamed to the Disney Theme Parks and Resorts College Program.

Though today everybody, including Disney, just calls it the "Disney College Program."

And lastly, it would take six years, but Disney would finally close the Snow White Village,

and in 1988 they had a more permanent housing complex built, called The Vista Way Apartments.

Today the program exists on a scale that makes all of those other numbers look small.

According to the Tampa Bay Times, nearly 50,000 students apply for the program every year

across multiple seasons, and of those 50,000 a reported 12,000-14,000 get in.

It's as popular as ever, and it isn't just because it looks good on a resume.

For most, whether it's the friendships formed over those weeks, or the memories made in

the parks, the Disney College Program proves to be an unforgettable experience.
