Mom Gives Daughter's Husband Secret Note On Wedding Day, Day She Dies, He Is Forced To Confess All - Duration: 3:22.

Mom Gives Daughter's Husband A Secret Note On Their Wedding Day.

The Day She Dies, He Is Forced To Confess Everything

As someone who personally struggles with anxiety, I know that thing can be a monster.

Though invisible, it can range from nerves about an upcoming meeting to crawl-out-of-my-skin-lions-thrashing-from-within

for no actual reason at all.

And particularly when the latter version hits in full force, it's always comforting to

have that one person who can be the calm in your storm.

For Nikki Pennington, that person was her mom.

The day her mom died, piled on top of the grief, was the fear that she had lost the

person who understood her best and who she could pour her heart out to when she became

anxious.

Little did she know, her sweet mama had a secret plan in store to make sure her daughter

would be taken good care of long after she was gone.

Nikki shared the heartbreakingly beautiful story on her Grief To Hope Facebook page,

and I pray it can be an encouragement to anyone who struggles with anxiety.

In this battle, you are never alone.

Read Nikki's post in full below: Anxiety has been a part of my life for as

far back as I can remember.

It's been there for so long that I don't really recall a time in my life without it.

If you have anxiety then you know you have that one person.

The one person that knows just how to help calm you down in the midst of the anxiety

fog.

That one person for me was my Mom.

She knew just what to say, how to say it and the right moment to say it to help bring me

back to reality.

Her words and comfort were always stronger than my anxiety.

I always just assumed she would always be there to be my person but that all changed.

It was a few weeks after my husband and I were married and my anxiety kicked in, I said,

"I have to call my Mom" he paused and said, "How about you talk to me instead?

Just give me a try and see if I can compare."

So I did, I gave him a chance to help ease my anxiety and it was as if I was talking

to my Mom, it was as if I was talking to my person.

The calls to my Mom when my anxiety was in full force became less and less.

She never asked why, never asked about it once.

That's because Moms like mine are few and far between.

The day my Mom died I called my husband.

I said, "My person is gone.

The one that knew me and loved me with all my flaws.

The one, the only one who could calm my fears, she's gone."

Then he began to tell me a story about my Mom.

A story that I never knew about her before because she didn't want me to know.

You see on our wedding day, my Mom gave my husband a note.

A note that was just for the two of them.

A note with the title that said, "How to be Nikki's person."

It was a step by step guide on what she would say and do for me when my anxiety was taking

over.

Step 1: Just listen.

Step 2: Listen a little more.

Step 3: Don't try and solve the problem.

Step 4: Tell her you understand.

Step 5: Keep listening until she's sorted it out on her own.

She will, she always does.

She doesn't know it yet, but she's had it figured out on her own all along,

My Mom gave up being my person not because she wanted to but because she wanted my husband

to know how to be when she was no longer here.

She gave up being my person so that she could make sure I would always have one no matter

what.

Well Mom, you will still forever be my person.

School's first black valedictorian BANNED from speaking at graduation - Duration: 11:01.

A teenager who was banned from speaking at his graduation ceremony without explanation despite being his school's first black valedictorian has taken his speech to city hall and given a blistering attack on the principal who silenced him

Jaisaan Lovett graduated from University Prep Charter School in Rochester, New York, last month and has been given a full scholarship to Clark Atlanta University in Georgia to study video game design

He wanted to speak at his graduation ceremony but Joseph Munno, the principal who he has been at odds with for years, would not let him

Lovette claims he was not told why he would not be allowed to speak, just that he couldn't

Determined to commemorate the occasion with a few remarks, he took his planned speech to city hall, where he works as an intern, instead

JAISAAN'S VALEDICTORIAN SPEECH  First, I would like to acknowledge that I am the first African American valedictorian in UPrep history

I say this not to brag but to emphasise the importance of this. Hopefully there will be many more after me and I want it to be known that this isn't impossible and it can be done

It's been a long six years. And I say six because I've been here at UPrep since 7th grade so I know

I wont take up too much of your time because I know I hate when people talk forever so I'm going to just get my shout-outs out the way now if y'all don't mind

First, I would like to thank my mom and dad. Anybody that really knows me knows my mom and she don't play

I ask a lot of questions, people tell me I get it from him. I love both of them and I couldn't be here without them

I want to acknowledge my brother, y'all know he's always with me and we go through everything together

I can ask him anything and the answer would be yes. I want you to know that I appreciate everything and we've got a long journey to go

I want to thank my brother L'Jason, he was the UPrep salutatory last year and he just finished his freshman year at Morehouse college

Being that he was a year ahead of me, he experienced everything before I did and I got a chance to learn from him

I want to thank Miss Denker, who was like my second mom at school, and all of the administrators who told me what I needed to hear and not what I wanted to hear when I got in trouble

But in all serousnes we're here now. It's time to really take that step. To all my brothers graduating, it's been a long time coming and it's going to get real out here

I wish y'all the best and I hope success meets very single one of you.I'll be a couple states away but I'll be back in town on breaks and if you need something then call me

I am here. We've been through a lot at UPrep and I mean a lot. To Mr. Munno, my principal, it's a whole lot of things that I've wanted to say to you for a long time

Playing Video Games with Cerebral Palsy - Duration: 8:41.

♪ Arcade music plays ♪

(Music fades out)

ZACHARY: Hello, hello, hello.

I am author and entrepreneur, the Cerebral Palsy Vigilante, Zachary Fenell.

I truly do enjoy putting together these videos for all of you out there.

Of course I am a talker, eager to chat up anyone making the mistake of being willing

to listen.

Perhaps a more traditional avenue for fun would be the topic we are going to discuss

today, video games.

More specifically, I want to discuss the connections between cerebral palsy and gaming.

Admittedly I have not been much of a gamer for a while now.

You have to go back to my freshman and sophomore years of college for when I last played video

games regularly.

So over a decade ago!

However, that hasn't always been the case.

Video games once played an important role in my life.

As those who have read my cerebral palsy memoir Off Balanced know, I wasn't always this

open and outgoing guy.

Growing up I was embarrassed about being different.

That's the actual story arc of Off Balanced, my journey from embarrassment to embrace over

CP.

That journey largely began in seventh grade, so 12, 13 years old.

It was this time I began feeling isolated from my peers.

Before that though, I did have friends.

Video games allowed me to bond with these friends while keeping my CP discrete.

Something physical activities like riding a bike and playing catch could not do.

You could say video games are the star power of friendly activity.

(Thumping landing back on chair)

♪ Upbeat music plays ♪

(Music stops)

I can recall a number of afternoons spent

with my then best friend playing the Resident Evil games.

We worked as a team, taking turns with the controller.

I definitely enjoyed co-op gaming over friendly competition.

Thanks to CP I do not have the best hand-eye coordination.

So in competition I often come out on the losing end.

Not a huge deal if your goal is just to have fun.

But lose enough, eventually you stop having fun.

That was the case for me in college.

Gathering in the rec area and playing video games was a go-to hangout for my friends and

I my first two years of college.

Mario Tennis and Mario Kart were two of the group's favorite games.

I am HORRIBLE at Mario Kart.

Of course I wasn't playing to win but rather spend time with friends.

Again though, lose enough and you eventually stop having fun.

In fact I reached a point where I would go back to my room when Mario Kart was put in.

I developed a similar avoidance towards Nintendo's Wii too.

I tried playing the Wii once with friends and found tremendous difficulty with the motion-reliant

controller.

The only game I would play on the Wii was Guitar Hero since the Wii controller goes inside of

the guitar controller.

Guitar Hero was a lot of fun to play, as long as I kept the difficulty to the green, red,

and yellow buttons.

Turning up the difficulty level proved too much for me.

Adding in the blue and orange buttons overwhelmed my fine motor skills.

I guess though, (ping of Kindle) that holds true for most games.

I was obviously better at certain games but for the most part I kept the difficulty level

to easy or medium.

Between my elementary school and early college years I used video games to help fill the

void of lacking friendship.

In Off Balanced I even describe my kiwi Game Boy Color as my best friend.

Most of my time though was spent playing wrestling video games like Smackdown 2: Know Your Role

for Playstation and then Legends of Wrestling II. I cannot recall if I played that

on the Gamecube or X-Box.

I would use my imagination and "run" my own organization.

I played through events against the system, crowned champions even if the game didn't

actually have titles, and kept track of results in a journal.

All this I found a great escape from my lacking social life.

A great escape indeed, although still flawed.

As I have already explained less than great fine motor skills left me keeping games on

easy and medium difficulty.

Furthermore after losing enough times, I learned to avoid certain games altogether.

That avoidance expanded to an entire gaming system with the Wii, minus the exception of Guitar

Hero.

Though, one way to avoid losing is to indulge in co-op gaming instead of competition.

(Dogs barking in the background) And that summarizes my many years of playing video games with cerebral palsy.

How do they compare to your experiences?

Do you have a gaming system preference?

What difficulty do you play games on?

Do you enjoy games where you work together or are in friendly competition with your friends?

Values rise for Japanese performance cars linked with 'Fast and Furious' - Duration: 3:26.

A new market in Japanese performance cars from

the 1990s may appeal to car collectors who have money to invest but turn away when they

see the astronomical prices paid at big name auctions.

Thanks to the mega-successful "Fast and Furious" film franchise, prices are appreciating

for car models associated with the movie series, according to ClassicCars.com.

While values are climbing, F&F tuner fan favorites sell in the five-figure range.

Contrast spending $20,000 for a collector car to the prices fetched by more traditional

four-wheeled investments.

$1,325,000.

The highest priced?

Another Ferrari, a 1965 275GTB Speciale that sold for over eight million bucks.

The top twenty weren't all Ferraris, but with headlines citing multi-million dollar

prices, many would-be investors are discouraged.

Japanese tuner cars may not sell for millions anytime soon, but they will likely continue

to appreciate, according to Leslie Kendall, chief historian at the Peterson Automotive

Museum.

"Like with the most memorable vehicles featured in movies from the hot rod and muscle car

eras, it would not be difficult to imagine that the cars, trucks, and bikes most closely

associated with The Fast and the Furious movies will loom increasingly important to automobile

collectors, movie memorabilia aficionados, and anyone else with a fascination for the

drama, creativity and social significance emblematic of the best tuner cars," Kendall

said.

The 1993 Mazda RX-7 is a good example of a model that has been picking up value, states

ClassicCars.com editor and analyst Andy Reid.

A car used in the films sold for $40,250 in 2005, but as prices have risen, a 1993 RX-7

with no connection to the F&F franchise could bring more than $50,000.

"A 1993 Mazda RX-7 is a serious up-and-coming collectible," said Reid.

Mark IV Toyota Supras have increased the most of the "Fast and Furious" cars, according

to Reid.

Completely stock, low mileage examples fetch the highest prices because poor modifications

are common and collectors prefer original vehicles.

Don't be surprised to find clean Mark IV Supras with asking prices close to $100K.

Reid also cited two car models used in 'Fast and Furious' that sell for much less today

than Supras and RX-7s.

You might be able to find a 1994 Acura Integra or Integra GS-R for about $15,000, he said.

A 1997 Nissan 240SX, if you can find one that hasn't been modified for drifting, probably

wouldn't cost more than a few thousand dollars.
