Youtube daily report Jul 5 2018

- Strategy number two is the glowing tones strategy.

Now glowing tones refer to the notes that set off

the sympathetic vibrations in the bass.

So notes like G.

Or B.

It's a little bit hard to hear in this recording

but if you take up your bass and play those notes,

if you're playing them in tune,

then you'll hear that the bass

sort of vibrates along with these notes.

So that's kind of what you're aiming for here.

And the technique that Dennis uses is

to play a two octave G major scale.

So you're starting in first position

and then going all the way up to what Rabbath

calls fourth position but really, thumb position.

Stopping on that A above the top G.

And what you wanna do is listen out

for these glowing tones

and I'll provide a little bit more information

too what glowing tones are underneath this video

but the ones you wanna watch out for

are the tonic, so G,

the fifth, which would be D,

B, which is the third,

and then again, of course, any G on the bass.

So what you wanna do is stop after

you play each one of those,

and listen and try to hear the vibrations

after you play the note.

And then use the same technique that you used

in the review song, which is if you play

slightly out of tune, don't slide correct,

just try to get it more in tune as you come back down.

New Review Article Series: Frontiers in Medicine - Duration: 4:58.

Hello, my name is Lisa Caulley and I'm one of the editorial fellows of the New

England Journal of Medicine. Today, we'll be discussing a new review article

series entitled "Frontiers in Medicine," that showcases the ways in

which new technology is influencing medicine. Over the last year, the New

England Journal of Medicine editorial team has been working with leading

experts to prepare the series that presents the translation of scientific

knowledge into new devices, drugs, and techniques that can improve patient care.

To introduce the series we have Dr. Elizabeth Phimister, who is one of the

deputy editors and one of the editorial leads for the Frontiers in Medicine

series. Dr. Phimister, can you tell us a bit about this series and what readers

can expect. [Dr. Phimister] Absolutely. So, the journal publishes manuscripts covering a very

broad arc of focus, from understanding the mechanisms of disease — for example, the

genetic causes of disease — right through to phase 3 trials of new interventions

to treat disease. This series also follows that same arc. So, on

the one end of the spectrum, in the science space, we have an article on the

extracellular vesicle, which is an area of intense interest and growth right now.

I think it was only six years ago that the International Society for

Extracellular Vesicles initiated. Another article in the science space is an

article on mapping neurologic and psychiatric symptoms to networks of

neurons in the brain, knowledge of which might one day be used to identify new

targets for treatment. At the other end of the spectrum is an article on

oligonucleotide drugs, which are a relatively new form of drug.

I think particularly exciting because it targets protein expression at the level

of messenger RNA, so it can target messenger RNA for degradation and

decrease it of expression of the protein, or it can tweak splicing to ramp up

expression of the protein. Also in the clinical end of the spectrum is an

article on the use of circulating cell-free DNA to screen for fetal trisomies.

This method has been rapidly embraced in the last five

years and now is the screen of choice in many countries. [Dr. Caulley] So why did the Journal

think this topic was important? [Dr. Phimister] Well, we know that our readers are interested not

only in learning about new and better ways to treat their patients but also

the translational research, the science that generated these new drugs and new

devices, new methods to treat disease in the first place.

[Dr. Caulley] As a surgeon, I really appreciate the advances that we've seen in minimally

invasive approaches to surgery. What excited you about the series? [Dr. Phimister] Everything!

I'm a technophile. I handle genetics and genomics research reports for the

Journal, I handle ophthalmology manuscripts, and just taking the field of

ophthalmology and looking back over the past 20 years, one can see how different

technology's approaches have really impacted the field. DNA sequencing has

led to the identification of many disease genes that, when variant, cause

congenital forms of blindness and also vision loss. They've also made it

possible to generate animal models of disease, which, in turn, has made it

possible to develop gene therapy approaches to treating disease. More

recently, new ways to image the retinal vasculature has led to the design of new

types of clinical trial. And, of course, one can't forget the extraordinary

impact that the development of antibody-based drugs to target

angiogenesis has had on prevalent forms of blindness, such as age-related macular

degeneration. So, it is really the technology side of the the series that

excites me. The fact that each article provides a foundation, a clear

explanation of mechanism, and also there's some looking to the future as

well. [Dr. Caulley] The series really is intended for anyone who has an interest in

technology, how it works, and what it can do.

It was really important to us to make sure that the series was accessible to

all readers. Each article is accompanied by an interview with the authors, as well

as an illustrated glossary to explain specialized and uncommon terms. I'd like

to thank Dr. Phimister, as well as our viewers. We hope you've enjoyed this

brief introduction into the Frontiers in Medicine series. Please find the

inaugural article and the accompanying editorial at NEJM.org.

OnePlus 5 LCD Repair | Video Guide - Duration: 8:08.

Wellcome to another MyTrendyPhone Repair!

In this video,

you can see our technician performing

the broken LCD screen replacement on OnePlus 5.

You can attempt the repair yourself

but we strongly advise you

to take your device to the repair shop.

This is a repair of a moderate difficulty

in real time it takes about 20 minutes to complete.

You will need only a couple of basic tools

like spudgers, tweezers and a Phillips screwdriver.

As always start by switching the device off,

and removing the SIM tray.

Also, make sure that the battery is below 25% of charge.

Now, remove the two bottom screws,

and then slide the thin metal opening tool

in between the back cover and the front panel.

When you manage to separate the two,

don't pull too hard before you disconnect

the headphone jack and the USB-C cable.

Remove the metal shield,

and unplug the two connectors

to free the back cover from the rest of the phone.

Now, remove all the screws that are holding the motherboard,

and start unplugging the flex cables

and the black antenna wire from the motherboard.

Proceed with removing the screws,

and the bottom loudspeaker assembly.

With tweezers and the nylon spudger

gently pry-up the daughter board,

which is connected to the motherboard

vía the extension flex cable.

Then you can remove them both,

but pay attention to the black antenna wire.

Now you can transfer all the remaining parts

to the new LCD assembly.

Removing the battery is a fairly easy task

thanks to the pull-tab,

but be careful not to tear it

or the adhesive strip underneath the battery,

because you can reuse that later.

You will also need to transfer the black ribbon cable

before you put the battery in the new assembly.

After that, you can install the motherboard,

and the daughterboard,

Redo all the screws,

replug all the connectors and the antenna.

Then, screw-back the loudspeaker.

The next step

is to plug-in the two flex cables on the back cover,

for the USB-C and the headphone jack, remember?!

Now, you can install the back cover.

Start from the top side,

and press your way down to the bottom.

Finish-up with the 2 screws.

And that's another successful repair.

For parts and tools visit our website.

Thanks for watching.

[MUSIC PLAYING]

MELVIN CHEN: My goal is to have the audience come to a concert,

not only because they know they're

going to hear great music and great performances,

but also, to come with a kind of curiosity

about why are these pieces on the program.

And this summer, I wanted to focus

on the Dvorak one of the first superstar

European musicians to kind of appreciate

the indigenous American music.

Norfolk has a great tradition of educating the great chamber

musicians of each generation, and I'd

like to continue to really scour the world for the best

up-and-coming chamber groups and instrumentalists.

Oh, you're right! This is the lunch that Jin made.

He wore earmuffs

and it was my first time seeing him in that.

I saw this mask for the first time.

Make me one too.

[#2. Everyone wants that position] V is cute though!

Jung Kook is funny.

Make me one too.

V's is cute!

[#6. BTS designer 2] "You met me~

- I already did that. - Oh really?

- I put a dot here? - Where?

It's not here, but on the bottom.

Then...

- You have to make 4 dots. - I'll draw in laugh lines.

Do it like "Not Yeongu."

- Laugh lines. - V is known for his laugh lines.

That's great. I'll draw in some dark circles too.

This is perfect.

- Is that me in a few decades? - Yeah, it's perfect.

[#7. A mukbang]

[#8. BTS designer 3]

It's not funny if you draw in too much.

It looks like V dyed his hair black.

Right?

[#9. You look cool]

You look cool.

It's not done yet?

You're good at drawing.

It looks cool.

- I'm not! I'll write "V" on it. - No.

[#12. Arguing 2] Stop drawing on it.

I'm not drawing on your face. I'll draw it outside of the triangle.

No. You draw it on your own shirt.

No, I can't do it.

- It's itchy. - No, you can't draw it on the outside.

Just listen to what I want to do. I won't draw on it though.

Look, it will say "BTS" right here.

- "Jimin." - Why do you want to do it on his body?

[#13. Run BTS!] - Run BTS! - BTS! - BTS.

I was a scholar of Gwacheon.

[#17. Beat the producer] - Let's beat the producer. 1, 2, 3! - 1, 2, 3.

- Let's say fighting! - Fighting. - Fighting.

- I think I'm going to close. - I think I'm going to lose. - Do you know how to play? - Yeah.

[#20. Do you see my hand?] - Do you see my hand? - Do you see my hand?

- You should've said "Dojo"! - Daejeo? Huh?

- Hey! Dunjeo! - You should've said "Dunjeo"! - What?! - Dunjeo the game. (Throw)

[#24. V is still half asleep]

[#25. Jin's water of life] My water of life...

[#26. Jin is in charge of taking care of V]

[#27. Kimchi beats the sleep]

- Let's get 3kg and 1kg of something else. - We can't eat a lot.

- And... - Wow, there's a lot.

[#28 Service] - I'll just give you one. - Wow!

- Wow, service! That's amazing. - How many kilograms are you giving us for free?

- How many kilograms are there? - This is...

- 400g. - 400g? - Yeah.

- It's a game where you use your brain. - I played a lot in middle school.

- You move quickly and... - The game is really fast. - Yeah.

[#40. The kids find everything amusing] - We can't make Jin lonely. - Yeah.

Wow, that house is so pretty. It looks like Spongebob's house!

Wow, it's a Korean traditional home!

[#42. You looked cool] Hey! You looked cool earlier.

- You were so cool. - An applause for your bravery...

Hey! I can eat delicious ice cream thanks to you.

- Alright, make sure to take it. - Your mistake was that you didn't do best out of 3.

- You should've done best out of 3. - Can you take mine too?

- An applause for your bravery. - Let's go.

[#43. Chestnut burr]

Jimin, it's going to melt.

Jimin, there are chestnut burrs!

[#44. Bye bye] Go on!

- Bye bye. - Bye bye. - Bye bye.

[#45. A picture for proof] - Here. - Okay.

Nice.

The sun is shining in my eyes.

[#46. Jin's cute thoughts] I thought that public bathrooms were floating in the air when I was younger.

You can do that.

[#47. Nananana~]

- I brought 2 polaroids. - Oh, 2 polaroids~

[#48. BTS's fast reflexes] Wow!

- What? - I grabbed it when it was falling. - As expected!

- Hold this for me. - As expected, BTS is different.

But the most important part is that you were covering it.

- Oh gosh. - It was filmed.

- You were covering me. - Don't underestimate the camera director.

[#49. Wear new shoes and jump]

[#50. I'm sorry to the members] I'm going to text Jimin.

- Saying what? - That I'm sorry.

I'm going to text them saying, "I'm sorry you guys."

- Should I do it on the count of 3? - We're going a lot more further than I thought.

- 1, 2, 3. - Wait.

We're typing, "I'm sorry you guys"?

"I'm sorry members."

I'm going to say, "I'm sorry members."

[#51. We've arrived]

Korea!

- You guys worked hard. - This is our pension.

Wow, it's so high up.

[#52. Working out again]

- Jung Kook. - Everyone, this...

You're working out again.

[#53. Famous sayings] I wish there was a playground here.

- There's one over there. - It's not a playground.

It's a playground as long as you're with me.

Wow, a famous saying.

[#54. Very serious] - You took it well. - Is it 1980's?

- Hey, this came out well. - Yeah.

- This is intense. - Why?

[#55. Two crows]

It's a door.

Do you think you have to push or pull the door?

Jin!

[#56. Gum wrapper performance]

Doesn't it sound like a dog?

[#57. Pictures are word and memories] Jung Kook!

Yeah. You're doing great.

That's great.

- Did it come out nicely? - Yeah.

Look over here.

Jung Kook, look here.

[#58. Director interview] How is eating chicken at a cafe?

- It tastes good. - It's good? - It tastes better since I walked.

- You can't taste this if you didn't walk. - Are you hungry?

- You said you had indigestion. - I digested my food earlier.

- As expected. - You carried him here?

Yeah, he carried me for 40 minutes.

- That's insane. - It was more comfortable.

[#59. Pictures are words and memories 2]

'Cowboy Camp' 🏇 Official BTS w/ Wes Bentley, Luke Grimes & More! | Yellowstone | Paramount Network - Duration: 1:55.

(dramatic music)

(horse neighs)

- Taylor's a cowboy himself.

He really walks the walk.

- I'd work for Taylor hell or high water.

I mean it's so cool to come on set

and have a director in a cowboy hat and spurs.

Yeah!

- He made sure that we were on the horse every day.

He sent us to the cowboy camp.

- I can only say two things.

It rocked.

- Cowboy camp was incredible.

- I mean I love that stuff.

You start to pick the brains of real cowboys.

Guys that know what they're doing.

- I don't know nothing about horses!

- You're getting a crash course.

- It's an amazing gift as an actor

to have physical things to respond to, right?

To not be faking it.

(horse neighs)

- I was a cowboy before I was ever an actor.

Most stuntmen back in the 50s, especially in westerns,

came from the rodeo world.

Becoming a cowboy or a horseman is a lifetime endeavor.

- Hey Case, let's go!

- We all went out with just a bunch of cowboys.

- Five or six actors and a bunch of real cowboys.

And we went out 20 miles in the middle of nowhere.

- We're four days in the mountains riding around.

Get away from cell service.

- It's the most stunt-intensive role

I've ever played by a tremendous margin.

- You're put in a situation whether it's a bootcamp

or cowboy camp you get to know who you're gonna work with

for the next four or five months.

- You manage to break your spirit

and a horse will serve you better.

- It'll serve me just fine, spirit intact.

- Being a horseman you have to learn every day.

If you think you know it all, they're gonna trick you.

You're gonna start ruining horses.

- It was incredible.

We're out there in the elements.

- All the boys were learning to rope and things like that.

And they were all like, "Come, let's all go riding!"

I was prepping back in a different way.

- I'm one of the more experienced actors

as far as horse riding goes and I'm never on a horse!

- There may be a cowboy in him after all.

What to expect from Pompeo's third visit to Pyongyang - Duration: 2:54.

Mike Pompeo begins his trip to North Korea.

Washington's top diplomat will be in Pyongyang for the first time since the landmark summit

in Singapore.

According to our Lee Jiwon, he is likely to focus on ways to ensure denuclearization with

officials in the regime.

U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo left for his third visit to Pyongyang early Thurday

morning, Washington time.

He's expected to arrive in North Korea's capital on Friday, local time, for his first overnight

stay there... before heading to Japan on Saturday.

During his two days in Pyongyang, Pompeo is expected to meet with North Korean leader

Kim Jong-un and possibly with the vice chairman of the ruling Workers' Party's Central Committee,

Kim Yong-chol, to discuss how to implement the June 12th Joint Statement signed by Kim

Jong-un and U.S. President Donald Trump.

U.S. media have recently expressed skepticism over whether the North is sincere about giving

up its nuclear program, so many are saying that Pompeo has to come back with some concrete

plans.

A major question is whether the North will, as a first step, have its missile and nuclear

materials removed from the country, as some U.S. officials have suggested,... and whether

the regime will disable its nuclear plants and reactors at Yongbyon.

Also, President Trump has said the North promised to shut down a missile engine testing site,

believed to be the one at Tongchang-ri, so observers will be looking to see if they set

a date for that.

From his last visit, Pompeo brought home 3 American detainees, so there's hope that this

time he'll bring back the remains of some 200 American soldiers killed in the Korean

War, which the North has promised to return.

There's also the question of what the U.S. will offer in exchange... in terms of establishing

formal diplomatic ties.

As for the process of the North's denuclearization, things may have changed slightly.

The State Department, in a press statement, recently introduced a new phrase -- "final,

fully verified denuclearization" -- and some experts say that in this week's talks Pompeo

might put more emphasis on the 'verifiable' part.

"From the mantra 'complete, verifiable, irreversible denuclearization' the U.S. changed to FFVD.

The 'I' has disappeared which could be due to North Korea's protest in dealing with its

nuclear scientists and knowledge.

The emphasis is now on 'verified' and that's something Pompeo had also stressed at the

press briefing the day before the summit."

Reuters, however, reported that this change shows that the Trump administration has softened

its approach toward North Korea's denuclearization.

It said the U.S., taking advice from South Korea,... took a step back from its all-or-nothing

posture.

But we'll know soon whether or not the North will accept this new term in their second

round of denuclearization talks.

Showers through the night, mostly cloudy tomorrow - Duration: 1:47.

Now we turn to our Michelle Park at the weather center for the latest updates.

Michelle, there's constant rain in the forecast.

Any hope for a drier day tomorrow?

It depends on where you are.

Tomorrow is going to be a cloudy day in most of the inland areas,... whereas Jeju will

be influenced by the monsoonal front soaking up more rain.

The rain clouds are developing as we speak,... and so more showers tonight until tomorrow.

Practically all regions can expect between 10 and 60 millimeters,... and heavier in the

east of Gangwon-do Province.

It looks like the showers will cool things down in the morning as well.

Seoul will be at 21 degrees Celsius.

Daegu and Gyeongju begin at 19.

The northeastern air currents are keeping the eastern regions cooler than the west.

Seoul marking 27, Gwangju 29, Busan 23 degrees.

The hot and humid conditions will remain in the coming days.

However, Jeju will continue to get monsoon rain that's expected to spread out across

the country on Monday.

I'll leave you with the weather conditions around the world.
