Nobuo Uematsu Discusses The Final Fantasy Main Theme As FF30th Fan Tribute Submissions Begin - Duration: 4:03.

In the beginning when this was the first track I made,

I didn't create it with the expectation that it would become the Main Theme,

just that it was going to be the opening for Final Fantasy.

Apparently it became popular amongst staff,

and it was used again for Final Fantasy III which was well received.

So then everyone was like, let's just make it the Main Theme, and so it was used for the different titles thereafter.

I actually didn't struggle that much at all when making it.

It sounds a bit self-praising but I always feel like the track feels like it's flowing, and that it really reflects a certain part of my character.

I felt that I was at least able to represent the musical world of the first Final Fantasy, in the universe of the game.

The fact that, in the end, this is still being used for the FF series makes it feel to me that this become the face of the series in its entirety.

At first it was for a Famicom, and was made with only three sounds.

Then for the Super Famicom there were 8 different sampling sounds, so the sounds we could use increased, and the track did still need some tweaking.

For the PS version we tweaked it further, and I think it was for the second title for PS when the theme plays at the ending of Final Fantasy VIII that I felt that it was finally complete as a track.

I have not changed anyting since then.

It was probably when we first did a fanfare.

It's of course fine in how it starts quietly with "dum dum da dum daaa da daaa",

but I get a sense that before that, the fanfare starting before the full melody is more effective. That's what I think now,

but I didn't understand that back then.

I think it would indeed be different.

For me, I'm confident in it, and I have a lot of years to back me up.

It's the root of my life now, as someone that makes music, so it's actually a very important track to me.

I made the track with that melody, at that tempo because I was in that mood at the time.

So it's great when fans feel like they want to try to do the same, for themselves, in their own way.

And if they are going to do it, I want to see them freely use their own feelings and instinct to remake and rearrange it for themselves.

We are inviting the fans to tweak the Main Theme of Final Fantasy for themselves,

whether that be in the form of making it so that it's more expressive, or develop the sense of lyricism that the track has, or whether you go completely the other way and create something I didn't expect,

I'm looking forward to hearing all the different versions from you all!

JTBCs Lets Eat Dinner Together has released stills of BTSs Jungkook and Jin appearing on an upcoming episode.

The photos show Lee Kyung Kyu, Kang Ho Dong, Jin, and Jungkook smiling cheerfully and enjoying each others company.

The episode marks Lee Kyung Kyus first time meeting members of the popular boy group.

Lee Kyung Kyu is known for being interested in BTS and has mentioned them on the show before.

MCs Lee Kyung Kyu and Kang Ho Dong first head to Bongeunsa Temple to meet their mystery guests.

BTSs Jin and Jungkook practice their calligraphy inside and become discovered by the MCs.

Lee Kyung Kyu is especially happy about meeting them as he had been hoping they could appear on the show for a while now.

He even shouts out with happiness.

The four head to Samseongdong which is known for its high real estate prices.

Lee Kyung Kyu comments, Just 40 years ago Gangnam was just rice paddies and fields.

Im still full of regret that I didnt buy land here back then. He also jokes, Following Taehaeran Street, Samseongdong should make Bangtan Street..

Later they begin ringing on doorbells to ask residents to eat dinner together.

After knocking on doors to luxurious homes, Jin and Jungkook confidently say that they are from BTS only to be met with individuals who dont know them.

This episode will air on September 27 at 10:50 p.m.
