Youtube daily report May 30 2017

Greetings, and welcome to Earthling Cinema.

I am your host, Garyx Wormuloid.

This week's artifact is Ex Machina, starring first name hoarder Oscar Isaac, best known

for playing the blue guy in X-Men Apocalypse.

No, not that one.

Or that one.

Yeah, there he is.

Looking sharp, dude.

Ex Machina follows a cuble-dweller named Caleb who gets invited for a week-long staycation

in a very exclusive bomb shelter with his company's CEO, Nathan Bateman.

That's Natey Batey to his friends, of which he has none.

Nathan shows Caleb the top secret project he's been working on: a new line of skin-tight

metallic bodysuits.

Oh, and a robot model named Ava.

Close enough.

Caleb's role in all this is to determine if Ava is capable of real human thought -- you

know, judging people, being selfish, obsessing about likes on social media, trying not to

fart in public.

They start hanging out on the reg, and naturally she starts crushing on him hard because ladies

can't get enough of that meek politeness.

Nathan creeps on them using security cameras, so to spice things up Ava causes a power outage.

That way they can talk about whatever their organic and/or mechanical hearts desire, like

not trusting Nathan, or football.

Nathan announces he is going to upgrade Ava, thereby dooming her current self to electronic

hell, which is a loading screen stuck at 99%.

To prank Nathan, Caleb gets him to poison himself silly and changes his computer background

to Tubgirl.

Then he and Ava come up with a plan to leave together and never look back, not even if

someone asks them real nice.

But uh oh, Nathan reveals he's been listening even when Ava cuts the power, so now the proverbial

Girl is in the other Tub.

The real test of Ava's intelligence was to see if she could manipulate Caleb with her

feminine willies [wiles], which she totally did.

Unfortunately for Nathan, Caleb also changed the security passcode to Tubgirl, allowing

Ava to escape her room.

After saying goodbye to Nathan, she graciously thanks Caleb by stealing his primitive excuse

for a spaceship.

Ex Machina explores the line between human and automaton, which is, admittedly, pretty

subtle.

Take that, humans!

Except you can't because you're all dead.

Double burn!

Triple burn, if you count the way in which you died.

Nevertheless, the film's visual imagery illustrates the distinction between the artificial and

natural worlds.

Inside Nathan's man cave-slash-research facility, stark, straight lines and muted colors reflect

the order of machines, especially ATM machines, that old moneybags.

Doors are strictly controlled by permission, similar to the well-defined parameters of

computer functions.

In contrast, the natural environment surrounding the facility is colorful and unpredictable,

just like, well, nature.

Come on, guys, try to keep up.

The central question of the film is whether Ava has transcended the deterministic thinking

of a Lenovo or a Samsung Galaxy Note and entered the realm of the living.

Nathan likens true consciousness to the work of abstract painter Jackson Pollock, son of

Jackfather Pollock.

The construction of Ava's brain reflects the fluidity that human consciousness -- and my

haircut -- require.

However, the film makes us question how useful Nathan's test

of consciousness really is, since calling human conscious is kind of a stretch.

As he points out, Caleb's sparkling personality is determined by programming just like Ava's.

His responses can be analyzed and quantified, which allows Ava to determine when he has

a boner.

In the end, the film leaves the viewer with the impression of Ava's humanity, and not

just because she starts showing more skin.

As she escapes, we see Pollock's painting again, reminding us of Nathan's distinction

between a programmed machine and the subconscious motivations of a human.

When Ava murders Nathan, she appears to pass his test with flying colors, aka the Pollock's

method.

By killing Nathan, an act that she certainly was not programmed to commit, she demonstrates

that she has transcended her parameters and is now legally qualified to raid tombs.

But Ex Machina is less a warning about the many horrifying dangers of technology and

more a commentary about how man's creations reflect human nature.

Just as weapons like the atomic bomb and the trans-molecular destabilizer mirror the violence

of the societies that invented them, Ava reflects the manipulative tendencies of Caleb and Nathan,

the only human beings she has ever met.

Thus, if Nathan has made Ava in his own image, what kind of person will she be?

She'll be a murderous robot who uses others to achieve her goals.

With a pretty sweet beard.

For Earthling Cinema, I'm Garyx Wormuloid.

Signing off.

How To Accept Change - Duration: 4:20.

Hey this is Darryl and in this video I

want to share some strategies on how to

accept change... stay tuned

before I begin please make sure you

subscribe to my channel also you can go

to my description area just below my

video and get my audio program breaking

through your personal fears ok here are

some strategies on how to accept change.

Understand that change is an inevitable

part of life before the time comes for

you to accept change learn that it is

necessary for all things to go and for

new things to come the history of the

world and the history of humanity can be

defined by continual change evolution

and development change is part of life

and existence and change often brings

new opportunities sometimes good ones

set new goals when we run into failure

or setbacks it can feel like we're stuck

there nowhere to turn life will take

unexpected turns

and this happens our trajectory might

have to change as well there's a point

where it is our in our best interest to

move on and to let go of what we want if

something doesn't work that we were

planned then don't get so caught up in

the outcome instead of doing the same

thing and expecting different results

except things aren't working the way

that you planned and do something

differently so you may not be able to

change what you're going through right

now but this doesn't mean that you can't

live a full and a meaningful life you

can adapt and adjust to your present

circumstances stop avoiding the

difficult issues and only focusing on

what you can't change focus on what you

can do about the situation and if you

can't change something it's time to

accept this reality what you do need to

accept is that you can be

a happier a more fulfilled embrace your

dynamic nature and your ability to adapt

try to view the change as a challenge

and a chance to grow remind yourself

that you are strong a dynamic person

that you're going to be a stronger

person because of this change also keep

in mind that change can be a powerful

motivator to help you achieve your goals

let go of fear let go of the fears that

you're hanging on to the fear of failure

the fear of judgment the fear of

rejection or the fear of betrayal of

uncertainty and the fear of risk and

also the fear of unknown if you can't

accept change because you're so wrapped

up in the layers of fear based on what

might happen or what other people might

think or do it's time to shed them

before you bury your true self somewhere

where you can't find it anymore

my biggest fear when it comes to change

and almost anything else is what other

people will say or if I do if I'll do it

for myself it makes me unhappy I

recently ran across the Seine that's

impact the ever since I read it and I'll

leave it with you here if you have the

same fear around things as I do you are

not required to set yourself on fire to

keep others warm if you've changed if

life around you needs to change don't

set yourself on fire to comfort the

expectations and what others wants hey

like button please subscribe to my

Rizzi's | Stories from Calabria - Duration: 5:49.

... super chickpeas for the "vegan".

Those marvelous mega porcini mushrooms

make it the usual 200g, com'on,

that "special" always comes out.

The fact that Marco traveled the world so much made him

want to come back! Come back here in the end means...

... when Marco comes and brings you a little flower

and you say, yeah a little flower: "oh a little flower"...

nooooooo!

Gilda: This is the little flower Cristina: From the mountains

Gilda: that absorbs the air with the moon and the sun

and has that taste

and you go like:

Are you serious? What are you saying?

Sometimes it seem like he is talking...

well he is talking about love, he is.

Mamma mia! Ahhhhh!

It's a dream.

A dream that came true.

A combination of many little things

that at a certain point came out in here.

This was a huge bet.

Open something in the center of Catanzaro

two, three years ago seemed

impossible

open something using only products from Calabria,

seemed impossible,

make it in a restaurant

that wasn't the usual restaurant

that means a little bit more...

fine and fancy

but open a pub

and above all serving hamburger

which is the extreme symbol of junk food

of crap, the evil that descended on earth.

This here is our beloved fried potato from the Sila

which we cut by hand every day.

Naked and straight from the field.

There is much to say about the spirit of Rizzi's.

All that it stands for, how the idea was born...

Why do you have to buy frozen potatoes

from McCain, dutch or german

when you have potatoes from the Sila

which is also a renown

product, it is good and it's yours?

Let's see what we have

and bring it... let's use it!

That means not even do I don't know what!

Just use it!

We always explain the menu to the clients, you know?

So when we talk about potatoes,

we tell that we have a little vegetable garden at Decollatura

and Marco goes there to caress and talk to them.

This is to say... for you to understand,

his spontaneity la sua spontaneità and genuineness in doing things

because he is really capable of doing that!

I tell that fact more, I mean...

well, he took us on that excursion

you say: yeah, awesome, where do we go? We are going to see the potato field.

You at least expect to see a potato.

Penny: No, nothing! Gilda: There was a green field,

you watch him there and he

was ecstatic!

Be careful with the flower, the things!

Marco, what are we doing here?

This is where our potatos will come from!

Fast food becomes something slow, something,

bond to the territory

something to be proud of.

With all that our region, Calabria, offers us,

you can do anything.

You use it for the dessert? It's not for snacking? Marco: No no, we have to chop it.

Ok then. Marco: In the dessert.

We are creating a sort of Nutella, calabrian style.

There is a whole lot of research done by Marco.

Rizzi's wasn't born like, "oh well"

Marco one day got up saying: I'll open Rizzi's!

Like that, I take... potatoes... I take that: No!

With this you can... with this you can also create

But simply grilled or ... sautéed with something

put a little, inside the sandwich... Osvaldo: Yes, good, inside the sandwich.

They come from here, from Pizzo.

You know, Marco really went, you say

how to serve something?

Everybody: a plate, or similar...

He gave importance to simplicity. Gilda: He went to a local artisan

and requested those cassettes

that are, the remember a bit the fruit boxes

to serve a sandwich

and you say: yeah a sandwich, no!

The bread he takes here

after looking for a baker that makes it exactly that size for him

there really is a reaseach for everything.

Al locally.

The relation you create is different

not only with suppliers and clients

but really with

it's there that the restaurant

crosses path

with

the historic city center, the neighbourhood,

with that parallel world out there.

From the old lady, to the neighbour

and then it all becomes one which

when taken singolarly seems rather trivial

but put all toghether...

... this is how the idea was born to create something serving our own products.

Why do the others do it and we don't?

This has always been

a devastating crucio.

Psycho Cybernetics By Maxwell Maltz: Book Review - Duration: 6:11.

how's it going everyone my name is

Dono and this is how to happy in this

video we're going to be doing a book

review of the book psycho cybernetics

this book is best for those who can weed

through a little bit of the woowoo stuff

to look through a book on

self-confidence and how that affects all

of the outcomes in your life

the difficulty to digest is fairly

easy though there is a little bit of

confusion with some of the woowoo stuff

and some of the concepts that are a

little bit outdated this book is a

little bit older so some of the stuff is

not as current as it could be and can

lead to some confusion psycho

cybernetics is full of a lot of

different frameworks and ideas mostly

related to how self-esteem and

self-image have outcomes on your life

now there's a bunch of other stuff built

in there but Maltz mostly focuses on

self-esteem so he starts out by talking

about how he was a plastic surgeon and

he saw that a lot of the times changes

in his patients came through their

beliefs not their actual physical

changes right so if someone changed

their physical appearance and then

believed that they were beautiful they

started acting that way but if they

still believed that they were disfigured

then they would continue to act in that

way and that would have really big

impacts in the way that they live their

life as well as what they accomplished

he then goes on to talk quite a bit

about visualization as a tool to improve

in a lot of different ways and this is

because he was originally involved with

some hypnosis type stuff or at least he

talks about some hypnosis type stuff and

says that those beliefs are so strong

that they come across as true so

he recommends that you try doing things

like visualizations where you sit close

your eyes clear your mind think about

what you want to happen

and how that really helps increase your

effectiveness and happiness depending on

what you're working on

Maltz then goes on to talk about how

rational thought can really help keep

you in balance and guide you forward so

he says to question thoughts as they

come up so that you can ask

yourself

is this rational does this make sense

and as you question a lot of these

thoughts you can dispel the beliefs that

go along with them once you compare them

to the bigger overall picture of life

Maltz also talks about the importance of

relaxation so that if you're just way

too focused on one problem and driving

all your energy into it you might have a

really hard time solving it but as soon

as you go you know take a nap or focus

on something else for a little bit your

mind can kind of crank away at it so

that when you come back you'll have the

answers that you were looking for now

there's a big chunk of the book that

also talks about what you can control

and focusing on that so the example that

he uses is basically the telephone

ringing right so a stimulus comes in

that's the phone ringing and you can sit

there and choose whether or not you want

to answer it right yes there is an

action that the phone is calling you to

do but you are ultimately in control of

how you react then he goes on to say

that you can expand this to a great

range of incoming stimuli right

something happens but you always have

the choice to react to it and he says if

it helps you know you can think about

that phone calling right

you have the choice of what you're going

to do so as you expand that belief and

build up your habits and you can realize

as any stimulus happens you have the

choice to make the reaction that you

want he then goes over some frameworks

for success and for failure and

different attributes of what cause

those two things and wraps up by talking

about setting goals and how a lot of

people as they get into their older age

have as much life as they've set goals

for so he just talks about how when

you're really driven to a purpose

then you have more energy and more life

to get things done but if you don't set

goals and you're not working towards

anything then the life and energy is

kind of just sucked out of you so

there's quite a bit of information and a

bunch of different frameworks within

this book but the heaviest thing that

Maltz hits is building of your

self-esteem and self-image and getting

the tools to really feel good about

yourself and have these beliefs that

lead you to more success let's move on

to the other considerations one thing if

you end up reading this book to think

about is there's several references to god

under a Christian type of theology

they're not essential to the book but

that's something just to be aware of you

can still get a lot of you know valuable

information about self-esteem and

whatnot without really digging into that

stuff but that's just a point to bring

up that that stuff is in there and

another thing is as with a lot of books

in this kind of genre and that are a

little bit older there's a lot of woowoo

stuff so as always anything that doesn't

really resonate with you just naturally

that you can't quite understand that

you're skeptical of do a little bit more

research because a lot of these

principles or at least the mechanics

behind the principles have been

explained in a different way through

psychology and just over time let's move

on to the applicable content and

exercises this book talks heavily about

creating a positive and empowered

self-image what activities do you

participate in which make you feel more

powerful how can you leverage those

events to create more positivity in your

life as a whole visualization and

relaxation are seen here as key creators

of self-esteem and happiness if you'd

like to try these techniques set

yourself a timer for five minutes during

that time close your eyes and either

focus on your breathing or something

you'd like to accomplish see how that

makes you feel so all-in-all there's a

lot of good value to be gotten out of

psycho-cybernetics you might have to dig

around a little bit and kind of parse

out what Maltz is saying but there is

some good stuff in there that's all I've

got for this video so as always if you
