Why this Canadian nude beach is a queer haven - Duration: 3:32.
People just bring their whole selves to Hanlan's,
and that's part of what's so beautiful about it.
It's really just like a magical unicorn that is in Toronto.
Hanlan's is a totally body positive-space.
You know, if everyone wants to be nude, they should absolutely
be nude. It's an amazing space that you can do that.
It's so liberating, and to know that
you're in the company of like,
queer and trans folks, and like, other allies
who, you know, want to share space, and
are respectful. Um, it's pretty beautiful.
I mean there just really isn't that many opportunities
for queer and trans people,
and I mean just folks in general to
be in a public space and share space
and not wear clothes.
Queer space means that
we are taking up space
as queer, trans, two-spirit,
and you know, other folks who want to
share a space with us. I feel like
we're at a time where
queer spaces are closing, and they're
closing rapidly. I feel like every other
week there's news about
a bar closing or like,
a place where queers are gathering,
and uhm, yeah, having a space like this that's also outdoors
is just so important, cause it's accessible,
you just have to pay for your ferry
to come here, and you can be in nature.

Like, does the city of Toronto actually see
Hanlan's as a priority
for queer and trans people, and like, recognize that this
place is so many people's safe space.
I mean, there's a giant pond right now,
and, you know, is the city going to clean that up? Who knows?
But that's beach space that could be accommodating a lot of people.
Yes of course there's cruising that happens here and I think
that's really beautiful because
it's a safe space that enables
and empowers cruising, and that's great,
and those spaces are also, you know, quickly disappearing.
With like, you know, cops invading
Marie Curtis Park, and like, a huge police presence
in the Village, and,
um, there is, I mean, there's less police presence here
and I really hope it stays that way,
because it gives people
more privacy to do what they want,
and to cruise, and to
do sexy things, and that's awesome, and I
really want that to continue, because
Toronto needs more of that.
It would be really great to see Hanlan's to continue to
be a space where there are more
women and genderqueer and trans folks coming
and taking up space, because historically,
yes, it has been predominantly a
a cis gay male space. At least for me,
Hanlan's is a really safe sacred space where,
um, I feel most at home here in Toronto.
I mean it's so beautiful, you can see the seascape,
and the cityscape, and just come and relax.

came up to $24 right this is the large but they have three sides that they have
they have the small which is $11.99 and they have the medium which is 1749 and
then this one that I have that came to $24 this is it right here
this is the large this is like basically like the same size of them it's like a
foot long right so all lobster
it's a pretty decent amount of meat right here but it comes basic most
lobster rolls my basic punches whatever salsa meanings whatever on it
and then just let it I got mine
- lobster roll this size right here there's light
get like seventeen sixteen dollars I remember I got it from the food truck
and there's like this much and it wasn't good if you check this card right here I
did lobster roll at McDonald's and they actually brought it back because it was
limited time order they didn't happen at every McDonald's now on the back and
most of McDonald's had on the highway and yeah
yeah man without further ado this de lobster roll from D'Angelo's like the
taste there you go
this ain't bad the thing about lobster rolls I've noticed and everywhere you go
it's always served cold is that sauce supposed to be but rather mine's like
warm with other things in it you know saying they should do like a lobster
roll Lobster in it it's like mac and cheese or something
like that you know sands are spicy like mac and cheese or something like
that here not me serve with some like like dirty fries
you know sanded the fries with the other a seasonal they should do that not just
a plain cold lobster roll salad I also get more creative with what I'm gonna
say man this is pretty good it ain't bad
if you're looking to get full of this know the bread definitely would do not
the lobster this may seem just this is more like a
lobster this is more like a salad we Fred this is business
D'Angelo's now I gotta say it's not bad okay it's not bad but I don't know about
$24 but I guess that's the price everywhere
