Hey guys, it's Warren here.

Today I'm going to show you how to make anzac biscuits.

These are really simple and quick to make, plus they taste real good!

To start with, take a mixing bowl that's big enough to hold all your ingredients.

Add 40g of desiccated coconut and 50g of plain flour.

Add 40g of porridge oats and 50g of caster sugar.

Add 1/2 tsp of bicarbonate of soda then mix all these ingredients together.

Next, take 50g of butter melted in either the microwave or in a saucepan, then add 1/2

tbsp of golden syrup.

Mix the golden syrup into the butter then pour into the dry mixture.

Now add 1 tsp of vanilla extract, then mix the wet ingredients into the dry.

Once all the ingredients are combined, take a baking tray lined with greaseproof or parchment

paper.

Split the mixture into 10, rolling out into a ball then press them flat onto the baking

tray.

Make sure you've left enough room for expansion then place into an oven preheated to 180c

/ 350f.

Leave to bake for 10 minutes until lovely and golden and they've turned into a slightly

flatter biscuit shape.

Simply leave to cool then these delicious anzac biscuits are ready to enjoy.

IN ONE OF MY PREVIOUS VIDEOS I DISCUSSED HOW TO PROPERLY INVOKE ONE'S RIGHT TO SILENCE

AND TO LEGAL COUNSEL.

SOME VIEWERS COMMENTED THAT ONE'S SILENCE CAN ACTUALLY BE USED AGAINST THEM ACCORDING

TO A RELATIVELY RECENT SUPREME COURT RULING ON THE CASE OF SALINAS V. TEXAS.

SO, LET'S TAKE A CLOSER LOOK AT THIS ISSUE IN THIS VIDEO – UNDER WHAT CIRCUMSTANCES

CAN ONE'S SILENCE BE USED BY THE PROSECUTION IN A COURT OF LAW.

FIRST, LET'S TAKE A VERY QUICK LOOK AT THE KEY FACTS FROM THE SALINAS VS.

TEXAS CASE.

THE MOST RELEVANT FACTS FOR OUR DISCUSSION ARE THE FOLLOWING – MR.

SILINAS WAS TALKING TO THE POLICE VOLUNTARILY PRE-ARREST AND PRE MIRANDA WARNING.

IN OTHER WORDS, MR.

SILINAS HAD NOT BEEN ARRESTED OR CHARGED, HE HAD NOT BEEN GIVEN HIS MIRANDA WARNING,

AND HE WAS ANSWERING POLICE QUESTIONS VOLUNTARILY AND IN A NON-CUSTODIAL SETTING.

IN THE PROCESS OF DOING SO, HE VOLUNTARILY ANSWERED A NUMBER OF POLICE QUESTIONS UNTIL

THE POLICE ASKED HIM ABOUT HIS SHOTGUN.

AT THAT POINT, MR.

SALINAS BECAME SILENT AND, ACCORDING TO POLICE REPORTS, HE APPEARED VISIBLY NERVOUS.

BUT WHEN THE POLICE OFFICER CONTINUED AND MOVED ON TO QUESTIONS INVOLVING OTHER TOPICS,

MR.

SALINAS STARTED TO ANSWER POLICE QUESTIONS AGAIN.

THE PROSECUTION ARGUED IN COURT THAT MR.

SALINAS' SILENCE TO THOSE SPECIFIC QUESTIONS REGARDING HIS SHOTGUN WAS INDICATIVE OF HIS

CONSCIOUSNESS OF GUILT.

SO HERE THE QUESTION OF COURSE IS WHETHER THE PROSECUTION SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO MAKE

THAT ARGUMENT IN COURT -- BECAUSE ONE'S SILENCE SHOULD BE UNDER CONSTITUTIONAL PROTECTION

-- AS ONE WOULD IMAGINE.

THIS QUESTION REACHED ALL THE WAY TO THE SUPREME COURT AND THE SUPREME COURT RULED IN A 5/4

DECISION THAT IN THIS CASE, THE PROSECUTION WAS ALLOWED TO USE THAT SILENCE IN COURT.

LET'S NOW TAKE A MORE CAREFUL LOOK THE SUPREME COURT DECISION.

BUT LET ME SAY THIS FIRST -- THE KEY ISSUE HERE IS NOT WHETHER MR.

SO, WHAT DID THE SUPREME COURT SAY?

SIMPLY PUT, FIVE JUSTICES -- JUSTICE ALITO, JUSTICE ROBERTS, AND JUSTICE KENNEDY, JUSTICE

THOMAS, AND JUSTICE SCALIA WERE OF THE OPINION THAT THE PROSECUTION WAS ALLOWED TO USE MR.

SALINAS' SILENCE AND ARGUE IN COURT THAT THE SILENCE WAS INDICATIVE OF GUILT.

BUT ALTHOUGH THESE 5 JUSTICES' JUDGMENT AGREED, THEIR REASONING AND RATIONALES DIVERGED.

JUSTICE ALITO, JUSTICE ROBERTS, AND JUSTICE KENNEDY WERE OF THE OPINION THAT THE REASON

THAT THE PROSECUTION COULD USE THIS SILENCE WAS BECAUSE MR.

SALINAS NEVER INVOKED HIS 5TH AMENDMENT RIGHTS.

AND AS SUCH, HIS SILENCE WAS NOT UNDER CONSTITUTIONAL PROTECTION.

THE JUSTICES ARGUED THAT THE 5TH AMENDMENT IS NOT AUTOMATIC AND SELF-EXECUTING.

ONE HAS TO INVOKE IT IN ORDER TO TRIGGER CONSTITUTIONAL PROTECTION.

AND BY THE WAY, THIS IS SOMETHING I SPECIFICALLY TALKED ABOUT IN MY PREVIOUS VIDEO, SO PLEASE

CHECK IT OUT.

I'LL PUT A LINK ON THE SCREEN.

BUT THE POINT HERE IS – THE THREE JUSTICES SAID BECAUSE MR.

SALINAS NEVER INVOKED, SO HIS SILENCE WAS NOT PROTECTED, AND THEREFORE, THE PROSECUTION

COULD COMMENT ON IT AND USE IT IN COURT.

NOW, JUSTICE THOMAS AND JUSTICE SCALIA WERE ALSO OF THE OPINION THAT THE PROSECUTION IN

THIS CASE WAS ALLOWED TO USE THIS SILENCE, BUT THEIR REASON WAS DIFFERENT.

SO, THESE 5 JUSTICES -- JUSTICE ALITO, JUSTICE ROBERTS, AND JUSTICE KENNEDY, JUSTICE THOMAS,

AND JUSTICE SCALIA CONCLUDED THAT THE PROSECUTION IN THIS CASE WAS ENTITLED TO USING MR.

SALINAS' SILENCE IN COURT.

ALTHOUGH IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE, AS WE HAVE NOTED ALREADY, THAT THEIR REASONS DIFFERED.

WHAT ABOUT THE OTHER 4 JUSTICES?

WELL, THEY DISSENTED.

JUSTICE BREYER, GINSBURG, SOTOMAYOR, AND KAGAN WERE OF THE OPINION THAT MR.

SALINAS SHOULD HAVE BEEN PROTECTED UNDER HIS 5TH AMENDMENT RIGHTS; AND THAT TO ALLOW THE

PROSECUTION TO USE A SUSPECT'S SILENCE, EVEN IF IT IS PRE MIRANDA, PRE ARREST, NON-CUSTODIAL,

WOULD PLACE THE PUBLIC IN AN IMPOSSIBLE PREDICAMENT.

BECAUSE WHEN ONE IS FACED WITH POLICE QUESTIONING, ONE CAN ONLY EITHER ANSWER OR NOT ANSWER.

IF WHAT ONE SAYS CAN BE USED AGAINST THEM IN A COURT OF LAW, AND IF THEIR SILENCE CAN

ALSO BE USED AGAINST THEM IN A COURT OF LAW, THEN THE PUBLIC IS SIMPLY FACED WITH A DAMNED

IF YOU DO AND DAMNED IF YOU DON'T DILEMMA.

THAT IS WHY THESE 4 JUSTICES DISSENTED.

BUT WE CAN INFER, AS BEST AS WE COULD, THAT 7 OF 9 JUSTICES WOULD HAVE AGREED THAT THE

PROPER INVOCATION OF THE 5TH AMENDMENT SHOULD FORBID THE PROSECUTION FROM COMMENTING ON

THE SUSPECT'S SILENCE IN COURT.

WE CAN INFER FROM THE DECISION OF THE SUPREME COURT THAT JUSTICE ALITO, JUSTICE ROBERTS,

JUSTICE KENNEDY, JUSTICE BREYER, JUSTICE GINSBURG, JUSTICE SOTOMAYOR, AND JUSTICE KAGAN; THAT

THESE 7 JUSTICES WOULD MOST LIKELY SUPPORT THAT AS LONG AS ONE PROPERLY INVOKES THE 5TH

AMENDMENT, THEIR SILENCE IS UNDER CONSTITUTIONAL PROTECTION AND SHOULD NOT BE USED IN COURT

AT ALL AS A PROSECUTION ARGUMENT FOR THE EXISTENCE OF CONSCIOUSNESS OF GUILT.

SO, TO INVOKE IS STILL THE WISE THING TO DO.

ANOTHER IMPLICATION OF THIS SUPREME COURT RULING IS THE FOLLOWING.

THIS DECISION HAS LED SOME TO ARGUE AND RECOMMEND THAT ONE SHOULD ALWAYS INVOKE THE 5TH AMENDMENT

SIMULTANEOUSLY WITH THE 6TH.

THIS IS BECAUSE IF AN INDIVIDUAL IS CLEARLY AND UNEQUIVOCALLY INVOKING THEIR RIGHT TO

LEGAL COUNSEL – ASKING FOR A LAWYER AT THE VERY SAME TIME AS THEIR INVOCATION OF THE

RIGHT TO REMAIN SILENT, COURTS ARE MORE LIKELY TO VIEW SUCH INVOCATIONS AS SOMETHING THAT

CANNOT BE COMMENTED UPON BY THE PROSECUTION IN COURT.

WELL, I HAVE NOT HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO RESEARCH HOW EMPIRICALLY TRUE THIS CLAIM IS, BUT I

CAN UNDERSTAND ITS RATIONALE.

I DO AGREE THAT IT IS WISE TO INVOKE 5TH AND 6TH AMENDMENT RIGHTS TOGETHER, AS MY PREVIOUS

VIDEO INDEED HAS SUGGESTED.

SO, TO SUM UP, ONE'S SILENCE COULD BE USED AGAINST THEM IF ONE DOES NOT PROPERLY AND

EFFICACIOUSLY INVOKE THEIR 5TH AMENDMENT RIGHTS.

EVEN IN PRE-MIRANDA, PRE-ARREST, NONCUSTODIAL SITUATIONS, ONE SHOULD CONSIDER INVOKING THEIR

CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS -- CLEAR AND UNEQUIVOCAL INVOCATION OF THEIR 5TH AND 6TH AMENDMENT

RIGHTS WOULD STILL BE THE RIGHT THING TO DO.

AS USUAL, LET ME END THIS VIDEO BY SAYING THIS -- IT IS IMPORTANT DURING POLICE CITIZEN

ENCOUNTERS THAT WE TREAT POLICE OFFICERS WITH RESPECT.

🎨What I Wear in a School Week at Art Uni. 🎒 - Duration: 4:11.

hello!

this is what I wear in a school week.

I just wanna point out that I always have on thermal wear with long tops and pants,

when it's not hot summer,

and my outfits are influenced by my school routine

so on mondays, it's silkscreen studio, where pigments and dyes are involved,

but, they're not opaque enough

to stain black, and when it could,

I feel like that the floral print makes it less obvious?

and, I wear clunky boots in keeping with all-black,

and these glasses are to keep me from having headaches from the very bright white lights in the studio.

and also, I have to make sure I have something comfortable to stand around in for my shoes,

and you'll come to see, for each class, I have

separate bags organized with materials, it's just the best way not to misplace anything between the courses,

and, off to class I go.

Tuesday is another studio day,

but this time, it's oil painting for 5 hours,

so I have in my french braids because it's a comfy way to put back my hair out of the paint,

and I definitely wear clothes meant to get paint on.

this is my "established" studio outfit, very comfy,

I love crewnecks, this one I designed in high school,

along with these moccasins I've had since highschool as well, they have holes and tears in them now,

but, it's so close to being thrown out, I just wear them, I'm not afraid of getting it dirty.

then I have these culottes and also the oversized hoodie that I stained, so now it's part of my studio outfit..

wednesday is a nice midweek break.

I only have a morning history course, so the rest of the day

is finishing weaving work due the next day,

since that's basically all I'm up to,

I stick to my go-to mom jeans,

and a crop sweater.

I have several pieces of the same sort, so it's really interchangeable,

and I have that whole rack of yellow sweaters,

so some days it's this, some days that,

each week really varies, you get the gist of it

and, since I don't do much walking on this day,

I wear heels, and since half the time is spent weaving,

the most important is having shoes that slip on and off quickly,

so I can feel where I'm stepping, in my socks, on the loom,

zippers, or shoes with straps are just not covenient.

I do my morning readings for history,

and then, off to class,

but- not without my weaving toolbox.

and then thursdays, I try to wear something that's really cute,

because this is the day I dread the most,

it has a really long class period ahead,

and it's right before the weekend,

so I basically have an outfit that I'm excited about in order to motivate me

to go about my day, and make the best out of it...

and since I'll be spending a lot of it out of the house,

around other people,

it's a chance to wear something I really like,

and I can show others as well,

and currently, this is my favorite outfit,

it's just so colorful, comfy, and soft

here I have a couple bags for all my weavings and the supplies,

I grab them, and then I head out.

and lastly, this is like the start of the weekend for me.

I don't have class this day, so it's spent at home, in my pajamas

most of the time, I take Friday to catch up on editing, that sort of work,

and relaxing, and then

I do schoolwork both saturday and sunday to catch up.

and I LOVE this antique Dior gown,

I shuffle around in my fuzzy socks- that just make me excited about life-

I love them,

and then I have my buddy Herschell,

so this is it to my school week outfits,

"Shadowing"

It's one of my favourite techniques when I'm studying a language

in which you can improve your speaking skills

your listening skills and your reading skills

and seriously....I really use it to learn different languages

so I truly recommend it

and today I'm going to teach you how to use

SHADOWING

when you're studying English

Time is money so without any further ado, let's get started

As I was saying, SHADOWING is an incredible technique

for you to improve many different aspects

of your English

You can improve your speaking skills by practicing rhythm

Yes, you're going to learn rhythm in English

you will improve your pronunciation

and your accent

you will also improve your listening

because you'll train your ear to listen to English more carefully

Besides that, you will learn new vocabulary and new expressions

You'll see many people teaching this technique on the Internet

but the way I'll teach you this technique will be different from everybody else's ways

How is it taught on the Internet, Rodger?

Basically this technique is taught on the Internet like this:

You'll have to listen to a person speaking English

and you have to repeat what this person is saying simultaneously

You can't pause it. You simply have to repeat it

but I'm going to teach you this technique in a different way

because my focus with this technique is not only on speaking but also

on comprehension and on the acquisition of new vocabulary

so please get a pen and a piece of paper and write down

the rules for the "shadowing" technique

First, you need to find some audio in English

preferably by a native speaker

in which you also have access to the text of this audio

it's important that the audio you find

is at your level, so if you are a basic student

don't use something very complex and complicated

and if you are an advanced student don't use something very basic because it needs to be challenging

after you find this audio with the text

In silence, read and listen to the text

look up new words and expressions in dictionaries

or on the Internet

then read the text without the audio

make sure you know how to pronounce all the words

make a list of the words that you don't know how to pronounce

and check how to pronounce these words e on a site named FORVO

Third, listen to the text and read it aloud simultaneously

and it's important that you try your best to imitate the voice that you're listening to

So copy the pauses, copy the rhythm

Imitate the voice

Do it at least twice

So you listen to the text and you read it aloud

at least twice

the fourth step is....Without the text

listen to the audio and try your best to repeat everything simultaneously

you're just listening and repeating

because you are just like a shadow....repeating

You are not going to do this only once

You should do this at least three times

you will notice that every time you do this

your performance will get better and better

Follow the rules

First, in silence read and listen to the text

Second...Read the text without the audio

Third. Listen to the text and read it aloud simultaneously

fourth....Without the text, listen to my voice and repeat after me simultaneously

available.

The average American spends 90 percent of their time indoors.

According to the EPA levels of indoor air pollutants can be 2 to 5 times higher than

outdoor pollution levels.

In fact indoor air pollutants are ranked among the top five environmental risks to public

health.

Since we spend so much time indoors it is important to create a healthy, toxin free

environment that is safe for everyone.

Non Stick Cookware-It�s been 40 years since nonstick pans were introduced.

Although the concept is appealing to most cooks, the hazards just aren�t worth it.

Nonstick coating is made of polytetrafluoroethylene which release toxic gasses that are linked

to cancer, organ failure, reproductive damage and other health risks.

Healthier Options: Consider using stainless steel, cast iron, or porcelain coated pans.

Conventional Cleaning Supplies-All purpose cleaners frequently contain toxic chemicals

such as ammonia which is a very strong irritant that can cause liver and kidney damage, or

bleach which can burn your skin and eyes, and irritate your lungs.

Oven cleaners and drain cleaners can cause chemical burns and emit toxic fumes that harm

your lungs.

Even products labeled �green,� such as Simply Green, are not entirely natural.

Healthier Options: Consider nontoxic cleaning products, or make your own from ingredients

around the house, such as baking soda and vinegar.

toxic products.

Whether they are solids, aerosols, automatic sprayers, diffusers, or plug ins, it doesn�t

problems, birth defects, and are now being linked to breast cancer, heart disease and

diabetes.

Healthier Options: Consider open windows, air cleaners, search for the origin of the

offending odor and remove it.

storm drains.

destroying water quality.

Healthier Options: Consider an organic fertilizer and compost, or to be more eco friendly consider

a xeriscape yard or replacing your grass with a vegetable garden.

Flame Retardants-Flame retardants are used in cushions, mattresses, foam pillows, hair

dryers, tvs, computers, carpets, appliances, fabrics, even your telephone.

The flame retardant used in mattresses, polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE) accumulates in blood,

breast milk, fatty tissue and is linked to liver, thyroid and neuro development issues.

Since most people sleep on average 6-8 hours in their bed, you may consider purchasing

an organic mattress.

in fabric softeners and dryer sheets, including benzyl acetate, benzyl alcohol, ethanol, limonene,

A-terpineol, ethyl acetate, camphor, chloroform, linalool and pentane.

Many of these chemicals are linked to central nervous system disorders, upper respiratory

tract infections, and various cancers, they also trigger asthmatic responses.

Healthier Options: Consider using wool dryer balls or spiked dryer balls which fluff your

clothes.

Another option is to add a � cup of vinegar to the fabric softener compartment in your

washer.

The acidity level of vinegar neutralizes the laundry soap, allowing more residue to wash

out in the rinse cycle, clothes come out softer, and vinegar also removes any odor on clothes.
