Over 80% of foreigners have positive image of S. Korea - Duration: 0:40.
More than eight out of 10 foreigners have a positive image of South Korea.
A survey released by the government today shows,… 80-point-3 percent of online foreign
respondents gave a positive evaluation.
Foreigners gave the country better grades than local respondents.
Slightly over half of South Koreans surveyed had a positive image of their own country.
As for the contributing factors to the positive image,… more than 35 percent cited contemporary
culture,… followed by the economy, cultural heritage, and the North Korea nuclear issue.
Traditional cuisine or 'hansik' outranked other images as K-pop or K-beauty as elements
that most represent Korean culture.

S. Korea launches special probe into sexual violence in sports - Duration: 1:49.
South Korea's human rights commission launched a special investigation team to root out sexual
violence in the nation's sporting circles.
This comes after series of allegations made by female athletes, including an Olympic short
track champion.
Cha Sang-mi has the full story.
The largest-scale special probe into South Korea's sporting circles has been launched,
amid snowballing claims of sexual misconduct.
During a press conference on Tuesday, Choi Young-ae the head of the National Human Rights
Commission of Korea unveiled plans to launch a special investigation team on sexual abuse
cases in the field.
"Under our commission, we have decided to launch a special investigation team for sports
human rights.
Officials from education, sports, and gender equality ministries will be dispatched to
form the team to conduct one year of independent investigation planning, case investigations
and policy improvement work."
The commission head said the team was necessary considering no changes were seen in the sports
field, despite decades-long criticisms and efforts to root out sexual violence.
She pointed out that the violence had been able to take place because of the structural
issues in the sporting circles, where the athletes and coaches work intimately and it
is difficult to make such issues public.
The exact timing of the investigation and the list of delegations for the team are being
discussed by the security ministry and others.
The investigation period is set for one year, but can be expanded accordingly.
The commission will open up registrations of sexual violence cases, launch a fact-finding
probe, and provide consultation support for the victims.
The announcement comes after two-time Olympic short track champion Shim Suk-hee claimed
that her coach had raped her for years, followed by similar sexual misconduct accusations raised
by former judo and taekwondo athletes.

South Korea's defense ministry released a statement through its website this afternoon,...
responding to Japan's official statement posted on its website a day earlier.
Seoul once again urged Tokyo to accept a scientific and objective process.... to verify the facts
in the two sides' recent military dispute.
Park Ji-won starts us off.
On its website, South Korea's defense ministry has posted its official statement on the recent
radar dispute with Japan.
A day earlier, Japan's defense ministry posted its own statement, and released audio files
that it claims to be the sound of electromagnetic waves coming from the targeting radar it claims
a South Korean warship used to lock onto a Japanese patrol aircraft late last month in
the East Sea.
In its statement, Seoul's defense ministry said the sound released by Japan provides
nothing that can be verified scientifically or as evidence... such as the date it was
recorded, the location, or the direction and frequency of the supposed radar emissions.
"The sound released by Japan is a processed mechanical sound.
Thus we cannot confirm that it is related to the fire-control radar's frequency.
In addition, Japan did not provide a system log file to prove its claim that the sound
was acquired at the site."
In the working-level discussions between the two countries in Singapore last week... there
was no radar expert from the Japanese side, raising questions about Japan's willingness
to solve the matter through bilateral consultations.
Seoul also asks why the Japanese plane flew so close to the South Korean ship -- just
500 meters in distance and 150 meters in altitude -- when it could see that the ship, with a
rubber boat, was on a mission to rescue a nearby ship in distress.
Normally patrol aircraft give other countries' ships a berth of at least 300 meters in altitude
and 5 to 9 thousand meters in distance.
South Korea also asks why Japan did not answer its distress signals in the first place.
"Our position has been stated clearly.
We urged Japan to present accurate evidence and to respond with a scientific and objective
examination of the matter by experts from both countries.
We also urged Japan to apologize for the threatening low-altitude flight.
There has been no change in that position.
But the South Korean government will continue working to strengthen its joint defense posture
with the U.S. and its security cooperation with Japan."
Military sources also said...
South Korea is also sharing the latest information on the matter with the U.S.

S. Korean presidential committee discusses inter-Korean projects, N. Korea-U.S. summit - Duration: 0:41.
Today saw the year's first meeting of South Korea's committee on the implementation of
inter-Korean agreements.
It was chaired by President Moon's new chief of staff, Noh Young-min -- his first time
leading it since he was appointed.
According to the Blue House, the committee discussed what South Korea will do concerning
the upcoming summit between the North and the U.S.... as well as inter-Korean projects
to mark the centennial of Korea's March 1st independence movement.
As the committee's new head, Noh Young-min told the members that he sees more drastic
changes taking place this year... based on the geopolitical transformation the region
saw last year,... and that he anticipates the first half of this year will be even busier.

S. Korea confirms 31st case of measles in growing outbreak - Duration: 1:42.
The number of confirmed cases of measles in the nation has increased to 31.
Korea Centers for Disease Control & Prevention is on high alert in order to effectively handle
the situation.
For updates and useful preventative tips, we turn to our Hong Yoo.
Since the first case of measles was reported in Daegu last month, the virus has spread
at a rapid pace, mainly in the cities of Daegu and Gyeongsan and Gyeonggi-do Province.
All 31 cases confirmed as of Tuesday, were in people who had not gotten the measles vaccination,
known as the MMR vaccine.
They also included people in their twenties and thirties working in medical centers.
For measles, vaccination is a must.
Just one shot keeps the virus away 93 percent of the time, and following World Health Organization
guidelines, it's regular practice in South Korea for everyone to get two shots.
Babies need to be older than 11 months to get the first shot and the second shot can
be given to children between the age of four and six.
Even adults planning to travel to regions with high rates of measles infections are
recommended to get at least one MMR shot.
And for medical personnel who are exposed to the virus more than others, 2 shots are
recommended.
Other helpful practices include thorough hand-washing, and covering the mouth when coughing and sneezing.
Considering the recent increase in cases of measles in Europe, China and the Philippines,
those coming back from those regions with symptoms of fever and rash should avoid using
public transportation, wear masks, avoid contact with other people, and report their symptoms
to the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Then give yourself 2-3 months and mark on your calendar the day to take your second

you can get a jump start on your natural whitening plan.

Clay.
Clays have a unique ability to be very soft (low abrasive) yet able to polish more effectively.
In fact, one specific type of clay, white kaolin clay, has the high score from the research
on its "Cleaning Efficiency".
This cleaning efficiency is a combination of a low abrasivity score and a high ability
to remove stains.
While any clay is decent, white kaolin clay is the best by quite a bit.
Same game as with baking soda.
Focus on front teeth while the clay is incorporated into saliva.
Eat Foods That Whiten and Protect.
Foods that require a lot of chewing, meaning fibrous foods like apples, celery and carrots,
will whiten teeth because they naturally remove stains on teeth, says Dr. Levine.
They act as natural exfoliants.
He also recommends maintaining a diet of greens, such as spinach, broccoli and lettuce.They
prevent staining because when chewed they create a film over teeth that acts as a barrier.
This biofilm prevents stain molecules from adhering to the teeth.
Use a Straw.
Drink foods out of a straw, so stain molecules bypass the teeth.
We knew we loved our morning smoothies for a reason.
Drink Water.
Drink water consistently throughout the day, especially after meals.
This keeps any residue from building up.
Look for Antioxidants.
When purchasing whitening toothpastes, Dr. Levine suggests looking for ingredients that
are also beneficial to gum health, such as antioxidants.
And always avoid sodium lauryl sulfate because it can cause or irritate existing allergies,
canker sores and bad breath.
Activated charcoal.
Activated charcoal is another very popular at home alternative teeth whitening strategy.
Some say it does wonders.
Others argue that it doesn't work.
We think much of the disparity of opinions could be that those who say activated charcoal
doesn't work expect charcoal to work like their commercial whitening strips aka overnight.
Remember the marathon.
Similar to oil pulling, it makes sense how activated charcoal would draw stains out of
the teeth.
After all, activated charcoal is used internally when one suspects a recent case of food poisoning.
In fact, we always carry a bottle of activated charcoal capsules when traveling in case of
the risk of food poisoning from eating out while on the road.

Honeycomb is so sweet that sweet potato doesn't taste sweet.

I bought it at my favorite store which sold sweet potatoes in Hongdae.
These days there are many stores that sell sweet potatoes like this.
So I tried. It looks good, right?
There's no way that this can't be good.
It's honey sweet potato.
The sweeter the sweet potato, the better the sweet potato.
It's so sweet.

Sweet potatos neutralizes the sweet flavor of honey comb.
So it's better.
I eat sweet potato with the whole honeycomb
but you don't need to eat it like me.
I think cutting into fine shred and eating it is better.

because they're delicious.
After you put cheese on sweet potato or you don't need to put it,
you would enjoy it if eating it with a piece of honeycomb.
That's why honey ice cream shop or honey sweet potato shop gave me a little honey.
There's a reason.
I didn't have to have so much.
Let's eat dessert.
I can't believe tteokbokki is dessert.
It tastes good.
Dessert is usually sweet potato but now tteokbokki.
"SweetSpicy SweetSpicy" is so good.

Xherdan Shaqiri came from relegated Stoke City and has been a fantastic rotation option for the Reds this season
Andy Robertson came from relegated Hull City is absolutely fantastic and is by far the best left-back in the league right now
And finally, Gini Wijnaldum from relegated Newcastle United who has created a fantastic partnership with Fabinho in the middle of that park and could even be the most underrated player in the league this season
Sadio Mane and Virgil van Dijk from Southampton are self-explanatory, one's a part of the most formidable front three in England, maybe even the world, whilst the other is arguably the best centre-back in the world full stop
The strategy of buying the best and hungriest players with Premier League experience, putting them together in a team and then allowing them to reach their full potential has worked unbelievably well for the club
As it's been so successful in the past, you'd expect that it would be something that you saw the club do again this summer and they wouldn't be short of options in a number of positions that Liverpool need depth in
Ryan Sessegnon, Ben Chilwell, Nathan Ake, James Tarkowski, James Maddison, Ryan Brooks and Wilfried Zaha are just a few off the top of my head
But there is one player who stands out the most for me. He is a player that has everything Liverpool need
He's naturally a left-winger but posses the ability to also play as a number 10, a position he has played in and excelled in for his current club
He is unbelievably skilful and has ball-control like Coutinho, he drives at defenders like Mané and has the physical ability to back it up when games get a bit rough
If you haven't guessed already, I'm talking about West Ham's Brazilian attacker, Felipe Anderson
With eight goals and two assists this season, the former Lazio man has adapted incredibly well to the league
It's no secret that Liverpool have lacked depth in the front area, we've often played with a 4-2-3-1 this season with Mané, Bobby, Salah and Shaqiri
We have players like Sturridge and Origi waiting on the bench, but let's be honest, they aren't good enough back-up
We've also got the added depth of Keita who has been utilised as a left winger at times this season, but again he isn't good enough in that role as he is a central midfielder
So a versatile attacking option for depth is much needed. Buying one this month would be great going into a title race but one in the summer transfer window is an absolute must
I've seen a number of tweets recently saying Zaha would be a great option for Liverpool and those people aren't wrong
He's quick, skilful, direct and under Klopp would go up a whole another level. But for me, Anderson's versatility makes him a much better option for the Reds
The fact he can play left wing makes him a great rotation option with Mané and also gives the Senegalese international some much-needed competition
But his ability to play behind the striker and also on the right in a 4-2-3-1 is a key factor for me
This season we've seen Bobby drop a bit deeper and play as a no.10 and he is still as influential as ever
As a result of Bobby being able to play this role, we understand that Liverpool have changed their intentions of signing an attacking-midfielder to signing a world-class striker
A move that would allow the Reds to have four unbelievable options across that forward line
But signing Anderson as well as a world class striker would be fantastic business and would mean Liverpool would have quality in depth to compete on multiple fronts next season
You'd think that Liverpool would be a favourable option for Felipe. It is a massive step up in quality and he must look at our three samba stars – Fabinho, Alisson and Bobby – and see they are enjoying every minute on Merseyside
If you follow me on social media you'll know how much I rate the lad and would love to have him at the club, but the only issue with signing him is his possible price-tag
Having only signed for the Hammers this season for a fee of around £40 million you'd expect West Ham to command a very high fee before they even start listening to offers
He could and should be an option for Liverpool. But for the time being, let's get behind the Reds and keep pushing them towards dreamland!

how to make an incredible skillet dinner. You're going to make it, fall in love

The concept is to deconstruct making cabbage rolls, the result is a fantastic
one skillet wonder. To begin the recipe let me speak quickly about a key utensil,
a cast-iron skillet. The skillet is thick bottom, lots of room to brown and saute
meat and vegetables. I love the way this performs. A couple of additional things.
We're using stewed tomatoes in this recipe if you're not lucky enough to get
some prepared by a friend, you're looking for a can of stewed tomatoes. You're also
going to need a can or a bottle like this of sauerkraut and the sauerkraut in this
recipe really amps up the flavour. When you go to make this dish at home or at
the cottage first step is to get your rice prepared. 2 cups of water, bring
them to a boil. We're adding 1 cup of rice. I'm using a brown rice. You can use
white or jasmine - up to you. Bring your rice to a boil, reduce to simmer, we're
going to cook our rice. It'll take about 30 minutes which is perfect because we'll
prepare the rest of the skillet dinner. Main ingredient is cabbage. I got a honkin head
of cabbage at the local market stand. We're going to trim out that central core
and then I'm dividing it into quarter or half you'll only need a quarter of a
head of cabbage for this recipe so the rest you can give away to friends.
Take it to work, "hey, here have a quarter head of cabbage" or you can make
coleslaw. Find another use for the rest of your cabbage. We're taking our quarter
head of cabbage, I'm going to roughly chop it and stick it to the side. You need
1 Vidalia onion, finely diced. 2 ribs of celery, split down the centre, finely
diced. 3 cloves of garlic, finely chopped. 2 carrots, cut in half and then into
smaller bits and then diced. The herb compliment for this recipe is marjoram,
it's the end of the season I grabbed the last little bit from the garden. Marjoram
is a member of the mint family. It has kind of like a citrus pine flavour that
works so well in this recipe. Vegetables are prepped, rice is cooking, we're
heading to stovetop. There's that large skillet. Temperature to medium-high. Give
the pan a bit of time to come to heat before we add 2 pounds of ground beef
We're going to add the beef into the pan and I like to move it around all
throughout this process so that the meat breaks up. I then take a slotted spoon
and transfer the meat to a paper towel lined strainer to remove all of the
excess fat. I'm going to clean up the skillet and now we're ready to start
with the vegetables. Add about 2 tablespoons of oil. It'll shimmer as
soon as it hits the pan and now we add the onions. Add the garlic. Add all of
that cabbage. Stir everything together. Hopefully you have a lid that will fit
your skillet. Place it on top and we're going to cook for 5 minutes. At the 5 minute
mark we're taking up the lid. The onions and the garlic are caramelizing. The
cabbage is getting nice and soft. Now we can add our celery. Add the carrot. We're
going to stir. Then we reduce to simmer, cover and we're going to cook for
another 5 minutes. Now all of the vegetables are nice and soft. We're going to
add our stew tomatoes. You can break them up a little bit as you stir them in.
We're going to add our chopped marjoram. Add a little bit of salt on the top and now
we're going to add the entire jar of sauerkraut. I want you to include the
liquid from the jar. Stir all of these ingredients together. If you need a
second spoon to do so, go ahead. Cover and we're going to cook for another
5 minutes. As you lift the lid you can see all of the vegetables are bubbling. We're
going to add our cooked, strained beef on top. We're stirring again. Now's a final
chance, take a spoon, do a taste test. You can adjust seasoning with salt and
now you're ready to serve. You head to table side. I like to serve this at table.
Plates to one side, our rice is perfectly cooked. We're going to start with the
rice. Add a dollop onto a beautiful plate. Next we take some of the Deconstructed
Cabbage Roll from the skillet, onto the rice and then we add that dollop of sour
cream and a sprinkle of chives. Which is exactly what I just did. And now that
first fork full. I'm going to spread things around a little bit. I have rice, I
have that gorgeous sauerkraut, a little bit of meat. Mm-hmm really delicious and
yes, it does taste exactly like a cabbage roll except it's deconstructed and it
was a lot less time to make. Hopefully we'll have that same great experience
when you make this dish at home. After that, come on back and hang out again

That means that when you factor in threes and free throws, he's shooting the equivalent of 63
2 percent from the floor. League average for all players this season is 55.8 percent

Harden reached what should have been pinnacle last season, earning a well-deserved MVP award and coming a single cold streak away from knocking off the most talented team ever assembled
That would be enough for most budding Hall of Famers. You could build a Springfield induction speech of Harden's 2017-18 campaign
He's clearly not satisfied, though. Despite the Rockets' dreams of a title looking bleak for the first two months of the season, Harden did what he could to keep the window pried open
Now he's just clubbing it with a crowbar to get that championship breeze flowing through the Toyota Center again
Whether that will happen depends on a lot outside Harden's control: Chris Paul's health, Daryl Morey's ability to add another piece before the season's out, Mike D'Antoni's ability to cobble together some defense, the Warriors' internal politics, and more
But this conversation wouldn't be a whisper if not for what Harden has done. This is the new James Harden legend, no matter what happens in April, May, and (heavens hold your breath) June, and no matter if this entrancing, hirsute spell lasts no longer than tomorrow
The lore of Harden, the mythology of The Beard, starts right here with these back-to-back 50-spots, and a dozen and a half threes on a Tuesday, and all this overwhelming, all-consuming excellence
This is peak Iverson, but somehow more. This is peak Kobe, but somehow better. This is peak McGrady, but somehow easier

The Iversons, Kobes, and Hardens are all drums and high brass. There's no being surprised at the 40 in the scoring column on the boxscore after three quarters
You felt every bucket hit you in the jaw. Yet this is typology, not qualitative assessment
Qualitatively, Harden is much more like Curry and Durant than Iverson and Kobe. A
I. was messy and inefficient on and off the basketball court. Kobe was (is) a primadonna, a self-aware and self-important diva, a clever tennis prodigy trapped in a team sport
(He was also inefficient.) Curry and Durant call back to titles-era Jordan in terms of incredible efficiency amid high usage, and Harden's right there with them
Well, he would be right there with them, if Curry weren't resetting the standards by which we measure these things
Curry has the shooting advantage over Harden, and Durant has the classic look and style
But The Beard makes up for that with sheer volume (in quantitative, sonic, and sartorial senses)
Consider this fact about these three heroic scorers. Curry and Durant each have six career 50-point games
Harden, the youngest of the bunch, has 13, including four this season. (Iverson had 11 in slower times for a relatively short career; Kobe had [choking sound] 25

The thing is that there is no telling it will last through tomorrow, or next week, or forever
That's what inspires so much frenzy about runs like this — like what Kobe pulled off a decade and change ago before the Lakers' second act, like what Iverson did through the early Aughts, like what McGrady presented every now and then for years
They are relentless and all-consuming. You know they must burn out at some point, but maybe not today, and maybe not tomorrow, and maybe not next week
These fires burn hot and fast, but Harden's is the most violent of all. We're in the middle of it, and we can't forget what the heat feels like once everything cools down

"I've pretty much done everything that I could to try and get my hip feeling better and it hasn't helped loads
I'm in a better place than I was six months ago but still in a lot of pain. It's been tough
"' Murray reiterated that he intends to play in Australia. "I'm going to play here," he said
"I can still play to a certain level, not a level I'm happy playing at. It's not just that
The pain is too much really, I don't want to continue playing that way." Murray was in tears during the press conference, as he explained again his intention to make it to Wimbledon, but also that he may not have it in him to make it that far
"I said to them maybe I could get through this until Wimbledon, that is where I would like to stop playing but I am also not certain I am able to do that," Murray said
Unfortunately for Murray, the way forward is still very unclear. He said that he's considering another operation, but it would be more invasive than the procedure he had around this time of last year "I could have my hip resurfaced, which would allow me a better quality of life," Murray said
"I'm seriously considering that right now but there's no guarantees with it." Murray also said that he doesn't enjoy competing anymore due to the pain, and that it's mentally draining to constantly being asked about his health
Hopefully, he can play and perform as well as he'd like to in Australia, and take his final bow at Centre Court at Wimbledon later this year — but so much is still up in the air
Murray is a three-time Grand Slam champion, two of which came at Wimbledon, the most recent in 2016
He's also reached the final of the Australian Open five times and the final of the French Open once
He has two Olympic gold medals and has 45 career titles. He achieved the career No
1 ranking in November 2016, but is currently ranked 230th in the world.

Eat Foods That Whiten and Protect.
Foods that require a lot of chewing, meaning fibrous foods like apples, celery and carrots,
will whiten teeth because they naturally remove stains on teeth, says Dr. Levine.
They act as natural exfoliants.
He also recommends maintaining a diet of greens, such as spinach, broccoli and lettuce.They
prevent staining because when chewed they create a film over teeth that acts as a barrier.
This biofilm prevents stain molecules from adhering to the teeth.
Use a Straw.
Drink foods out of a straw, so stain molecules bypass the teeth.
We knew we loved our morning smoothies for a reason.
Drink Water.
Drink water consistently throughout the day, especially after meals.
This keeps any residue from building up.
Look for Antioxidants.
When purchasing whitening toothpastes, Dr. Levine suggests looking for ingredients that
are also beneficial to gum health, such as antioxidants.
And always avoid sodium lauryl sulfate because it can cause or irritate existing allergies,
canker sores and bad breath.
Activated charcoal.
Activated charcoal is another very popular at home alternative teeth whitening strategy.
Some say it does wonders.
Others argue that it doesn't work.
We think much of the disparity of opinions could be that those who say activated charcoal
doesn't work expect charcoal to work like their commercial whitening strips aka overnight.
Remember the marathon.
Similar to oil pulling, it makes sense how activated charcoal would draw stains out of
the teeth.
After all, activated charcoal is used internally when one suspects a recent case of food poisoning.
In fact, we always carry a bottle of activated charcoal capsules when traveling in case of
the risk of food poisoning from eating out while on the road.

Mesut Ozil's situation at Arsenal is certainly an odd one. The German is their highest-paid player by some margin on a reported £350,000-a-week
But Under Unai Emery, he's struggling to get into the team. The midfielder had been one of Arsenal's star players for almost six years, but under his new boss, Ozil has fallen way down the pecking order at the Emirates
He hasn't featured on the pitch since Boxing Day which has raised a few eyebrows, especially considering Emery has said that he can't afford new signings in January
Given the circumstances, it's rather strange that he's chosen to drop one of the club's biggest names, and that decision was questioned following a defeat to West Ham earlier this month
It's clear that Emery now sees Ozil as just another player and he's made it clear that if the midfielder isn't suited to the job required, he just won't play
DROPPING OZIL Despite the awkward questions, he stuck to his guns again last weekend too, as Ozil failed to come off the bench during the 2-0 win against Chelsea
This time, the Spaniard's decision to omit his highest-paid star paid off as his side closed the gap to fourth spot to just three points
Still, things aren't looking great for Ozil, who's out in the cold right now. The strained relationship between the pair also looks even more odd considering the comments Ozil made back in September following a win against Newcastle
A GOOD RELATIONSHIP "I've said in the past that I'm very, very happy to play for Arsenal and especially the new coach," he said after scoring his first goal of the season
"He knows what he wants. The team accepts that and all the team supports him and we have a good relationship with him
" Just a few months ago, it sounded like all was well between Ozil and his new manager
So just what happened to push him out of Emery's plans remains a mystery for now
