and with this video I start Forest Pack
base course.
As I said earlier - Now I will alternate
video recordings for every
course - which I will plan to create more and more.
And all which waiting the next part of
Ornatrix course -
don't worry =) I will create it after
this tutorial.
Then I will analyse RailClone plugin and
will start the new course for it. So as you understand -
I will consistently record the variety
tutorials to make my channel more
interesting.
So, let's come back to ForestPack and start the tutorial.
I start it from comparing of two versions - LITE and PRO.
For this - I made the special table and
in it you will see the difference by LITE and PRO
versions.
You can download the LITE version for free on
the ForestPack site with
simple clicking on "Get Lite Version" button.
If you will want to buy the PRO -
you should click on the "buy" button.
At this moment - the license for
one person costs - 200 €
Now let's go to the table and find
the differences between these versions.
The list of features of the program is divided into six
tabs.
Rendering, scattering,
effects, libraries, utilities and other
benefits.
I will analyse every tab separately and
analyse of features which not include
in the LITE version.
In the Rendering tab we have
5 features.
- Native shaders for Mental Ray and
Vray.
- Billboards optimization
- Random tint by item
- Tint by element,
for example - leaves on a tree.
So, ForestPack Lite don't have this
feature.

In the Scattering tab we have
13 features.
1 - Unlimited
types of plant objects in PRO version and
up to three types in LITE version.
2 - ForestPack PRO include
Unlimited areas by object.
What does it mean?
For example, you have many objects and
want to create some areas around them without a grass
So, in PRO version you can add the areas for
each of them.
But in LITE version you can add
only 4 areas.
3 - The next feature is
scattering over uneven surfaces, that is
you can use
displacement map for the scattering.
Only ForestPack PRO have this feature.
4 - Diversity/Clusters.
5 - Custom Edit mode,
which allows to edit
each scattering items individually.
6 - Distribution of items along a path.
7 - Real-time camera clipping of scattering items.
8 - Points-cloud viewport mode which
optimize work with plugin in
the viewport.
9 - Random transformation of position,
rotation and scale.
10 - Full Animation support, including
multiple random samples.
11 - Collision checking.
The next tab is Effects and it
include the 3 features.
1. Effects Browser and built in effects.
2 - Load and edit 3rd party effects which
wasn't included in ForestPack library.
3 - Create, save and share new effects.
ForestPack LITE don't include
the 2nd and the 3rd features.
The next is libraries
which include 3 features and
ForestPack LITE don't include 2 of them.
1 - Library browset, 2 - Library editor,
and 3 - More than 100 library items,
including billboards, 3D models and Presets.
The next tab is - Utilities which
include the 5 features.
1 - Real time status window.
2 - User Presets
3 - Creation tools.
4 - Forest Tools
5 - Conversion of Forest Pack object to
Editable Mesh.
As you can see - ForestPack LITE
don't include 3 features.
The next tab is other benefits which
include
3 features.
1 - Prioritized technical support.
2 - Early access to beta versions which
include many cool and interesting features
and 3 - Frequently patches and releases.
So this is the end of this tutorial part.
I think you have made your conclusion and
will agree with me, that the best way is -
buy the PRO version and get all features.
