Eden Prime | Mass Effect FULL RENEGADE (#2) - Duration: 16:14.

Joker: Engaging stealth systems.

Joker: Somebody was doing some serious digging here, Captain.

Captain Anderson: Your team is the muscle in this operation, Commander. Go in heavey and head straight for the dig site.

Kaidan: What about survivors, Captian?

Captain Anderson: Helping survivors is a secondary objective. The beacon's you top priority.

Joker: Approaching drop-point 1.

Corporal Jenkins: Nihlus? You're coming with us?

Nihlus: I move faster on my own.

Captain Anderson: Nihlus will scout out ahead. He'll feed you status reports throughout the mission. Otherwise, I want radio silence.

Shepard: I don't like putting my life in the hands of a turian, sir.

Captain Anderson: Nihlus is on our side. He wants you in the spectres and he wants that beacon.

Shepard: Ready and able, sir.

Captain Anderson: The mission now, Shepard. Good luck.

Joker: We are approaching drop-point 2.

[ominous silence]

Corporal Jenkins: AAAHUUGG!

Kaidan: Ripped right through his shields. He never had a chance.

Shepard: Leave him. We need to finish the mission.

Kaidan: Aye aye, ma'am.

[shooting sounds]

[dark mechanical noises]

UUUGH!

Ashley: [panting]

Ashley: Gunnery chief Ashley Williams of the 2-12. You the one in charge here, ma'am?

Shepard: I need a status report, now.

Ashley: [sigh] Ahh man... We were patrolling the perimeter when the attack hit. We tried to get off a distress call, but they cut off our communications.

I've been fight for my life ever since.

Shepard: Where's the rest of your squad?

Ashley: We tried to double back to the beacon, but we walked into an ambush.

I don't think any of the others... I think I'm the only one left.

Shepard: You just left the rest of your unit behind to die?

Ashley: We held are position for as long as we could! The geth overwhelmed us.

Kaidan: The geth haven't been seen outside the vial in nearly 200 years. Why are they here now?

Ashley: The must of come for the beacon. The dig site is close, just over that rise. It might still be there.

Shepard: Lieutenant Alenko and I will take care of this.

Ashley: Let me come with you, ma'am. The geth slaughtered my unit. Give me a chance to get even.

Kaidan: She knows the area, Commander. And we could use the extra fire power.

Shepard: Just don't forget who's in charge.

Ashley: Understood, Commander. You give the orders and I'll follow them.

Shepard: Describe what happened leading up to the attack.

Ashley: We were sent out a couple of nights ago from the main colony to secure the area. Seemed like a routine patrol. Until the geth hit us. We never knew they were comming.

Shepard: What happened to the researchers at the dig site?

Ashley: I don't know. They set up camp near the beacon. The 2-32 was with them. Maybe their unit fared better than mine.

Shepard: What else do you know about the geth?

Ashley: Just what I remember from history class back in school.

They're synthetics, non-organic life forms with limited AI programming. Created by the quarians a few centuries ago.

They were supposed to be a source of cheap labor, but ended up turning on the quarians and drove them to exile.

After that they just kind of disappeared behind the Perseus Veil. Nobody really heard much from them since.

Shepard: Have you seen a turian spectre around here?

Ashley: There aren't any turians on Eden Prime, none that I've ever met. Not sure I'd be able to tell if one was a spectre anyway.

Kaidan: If you'd saw this guy you'd know. Carries enough fire power to wipe out a whole platoon. Luckily he's on our side.

Ashley: Sorry, like I said no turians.

Shepard: Tell me everything you know about the beacon.

Ashley: They were doing some digging out here to extend the monorail and the colony. A few weeks ago they've unearthed some Prothean ruins and the beacon.

Suddenly every scientific expert in the colony was interested. That's when they brought us in to secure the site.

I don't know much about the beacon itself, but I've heard one of the researchers say this could be the biggest scientific discovery of the century.

Shepard: Move out!

Ashley: This is the dig site. The beacon was right here, it must have been moved.

Kaidan: By who? Our side or the geth?

Ashley: Hard to say. Maybe we'll know more after we check out the research camp.

Shepard: Let's get moving. Williams, where's the camp?

Ashley: It's just on the top of this ridge, up the ramps.

Kaidan: It's a good place for an ambush. Keep your guard up.

Kaidn: Oh god! They're still alive!

Ashley: What did the geth do to them?

Dr. Warren: Humans! Thank the maker.

Manuel: Hurry! Close the door, before they come back.

Shepard: How did you end up in this shed?

Dr. Warren: We hid here during the attack. They must of come here for the beacon.

Luckily it wasn't here. It was moved to the space port earlier this morning.

Manuel and I stayed behind to pack up the camp. When the attack came the marines held them off long enough for us to hide.

They gave their lives to save us.

Manuel: No one is saved! The age of humanity has ended. Soon only ruin and corpses will remain.

Shepard: What's wrong with you assistent?

Dr. Warren: Manuel has a brillient mind, but he's always been a bit... unstable.

Genius and madness are two sides of the same coin.

Manuel: Is it madness to see the future? To see the destruction rushing towards us? To understand there's no escape? No hope...

I am not mad. I'm the only sane one left.

Dr. Warren: I gave him an extra dose of his meds after the attack.

Shepard: Say goodnight Manuel.

Manuel: You cannot silence the truth. My voice must be heard!

Ugh!

Dr. Warren: Oh my god! What did you do?

Kaidan: that might of been a little extreme , Commander.

Dr. Warren: You can't just go around whacking people in the head!

Shepard: It was only a matter of time before he did something crazy, and dangerous.

Dr. Warren: I suppose your right... By the time he wakes up the meds would've kicked in.

Shepard: What else can you tell me about the attack?

Dr. Warren: [sigh] It all happened so fast. On second we were gathering up our equipment. The next we were hiding in the shed while the geth swarmed over the camp.

We could hear the battle outside. Gunfire, screams... I thought it would never end.

Then everything went quiet. We just sat there, too afraid to move, until you came along.

Shepard: Did you notice a turian in the area?

Dr. Warren: No, I'm sorry. We haven't left the shed since the attack.

Shepard: Can you tell me anything about the beacon?

Dr. Warren: It's some type of data module from a galaxy wide communication network. Remarkably well preserved.

It could be the greatest discovery of our lifetime. Who knows what secrets could be locked inside?

Miraculous new technology, ground breaking medical advances, the possibilities are endless.

Shepard: Williams, take us to the space port.

Dr Warren: Good luck, Commander.

Nihlus: Saren?

Saren: Nihlus.

Nihlus: This isn't your mission, Saren. What are you doing here?

Saren: The Council thought you could use some help on this one.

Nihlus: I wasn't expecting to find the geth here. The situation's bad.

Saren: Don't worry. I've got it under control.

[gun shot]

Kaidan: What is that? Off in the distance?

Ashley: It's a ship! Look at the size of it!

Cole: Everybody stay calm out there. We're coming out and we're not armed.

Female colonist: Is it safe? Are they gone?

Shepard: Nobody moves a muscle until we know who you are.

Male colonist: Nice going Cole. I told you we should've stayed hidden.

Cole: It's ok, we're all on the same side here. We're just farmers. We've been hiding since that ship first showed up.

Shepard: Tell me everything you remember about the attack.

Cole: The three of us were working the crops when that ship showed up. We just saw it and ran. I don't know what happened to the rest of the crew.

Male colonist: They were by the garage over near the space port, right where that ship came down. No way they survived.

Female colonist: You don't know that! We survived, if they made it to the garage they could of had a fighting chance!

Shepard: What else can you tell me about the ship you saw?

Cole: I was too busy running to get a clear look at it. Think it landed over near the space port.

Female colonist: Tell them about the noise Cole. that afoul noise...

Cole: It was emmiting some kind of single as it descended. Sounded like the shrieks of the damned.

Only...it was coming from inside your own head.

Shepard: It was probably trying to block communications

Cole: Whatever it was, felt like it was tearing right through my skull. Almost made it impossible to think.

Shepard: Do you know anything about the Protean beacon they dug up?

Cole: We're just farmers. We heard they found something out there, but it never really mattered to us... Until now.

Shepard: I have to go.

Male colonist: Hey Cole... We're just a bunch of farmers. These guys are soldiers. Maybe we should give them the stuff.

Cole: Geez! You gotta learn when to shut up!

Shepard: If there's something your not telling me...

Cole: Some guys at the space port we're running a small smuggling ring, nothing major. In exchange for a cut of the profits we let them store packages in our sheds.

Shepard: You greedy bastard. You weren't running for you life, you were running to check on your merchandise.

Cole: No! It's not like that! I just knew there were some packages here. Something we could use.

I found a pistol. Figured it would come in handy if those things came back, but you'd probably get more use out of it than we will.

Shepard: I'm only going to ask this once. Think long and hard before you lie to me again. Are you sure all you got is one lousy pistol?

Cole: Uhh... Oh, wait. I just remembered. I just uh had it in my pocket, might as well take that too. That's everything, really.

Ashley: Who's your contact at the space port, Cole? What's his name?

Cole: He's not a bad guy, I don't want to get him into trouble. Besides I'm not a snitch.

Shepard: Would you rather be a snitch, or a corpse?

Cole: Powell! His name is Powell.

Ashley: No honor among thieves.

Cole: That's all I know, really. Let's try to keep things friendly from here on in, ok?

Shepard: I have to go.

Kaidan: It's Nihlus...

Ashley: Somethings moving! Over behind those crates.

Powell: Wait! Don't- Don't shoot! I'm one of you, I'm human.

Shepard: What are you doing sneaking around back there?

Powell: I'm sorry, I was hiding from those creatures. My name is Powell. I saw what happened to that turian. The other one shot him.

Shepard: What the hell are you talking about?

Powell: There were two turians here. You're friend and another one he called Saren. I think they knew each other.

Your friend seemed to relax. He let his guard down. Then Saren killed him... Shot him right in the back.

I'm just lucky he didn't see me behind the crates.

Shepard: Where did Saren go after he killed Nihlus?

Powell: He jumped on the cargo train and headed to the other platform. Probably going after the beacon.

I knew that beacon was trouble. Everything's gone to hell since we found it. First that damn mothership showed up, then the attack...

They killed everyone... everyone. If I hadn't hidden behind the crates I'd be dead too.

Shepard: You're Cole's contact here on the docs, for the smuggling ring.

Powell: What? Er, no! Uhh

I mean...

What does it matter now? So I'm a smuggler, who cares?

My supervisor is dead, the entire crew is dead. It doesn't matter now does it?

Shepard: Anything hidden near by we could use against the geth?

Powell: A shipment of grenades came through last week. Nobody notices if a few small pieces go missing from the military orders.

Ashley: You greedy son-of-a-bitch! We're out here trying to protect your sorry ass! And all you can think about is how you can rip us off?

Powell: I never thought you'd actually need those grenades. Who'd want to attack Eden Prime? We're just a butch of farmers. How was I suppose to know?

Shepard: Hand over those grenades, now.

Powell: There yours, take them. My smuggling days are over. I swear.

Shepard: Too many people died here for you to start jerking me around.

Powell: Ok, alright. There was something else. Could be worth a fortune, experimental technology, top of the line. Take it, I don't need it! I didn't want anyone to get hurt, really! I'm sorry.

Shepard: Tell me about the geth attack.

Powell: It was quick. One minute the ship was descending, the next those geths we're swarming over the platform. Thousands of them.

They must of been inside that mothership. They shot anything that moved. It was a massacre.

Shepard: How come you were the only one that survived? Why didn't anyone else try to hide behind the crates?

Powell: They never had a chance. I... I was already behind the crates when the attack started.

Kaidan: Wait a minute. You were hiding behind the crates before the attack?

Powell: I... Sometimes I need a nap to get through my shift. I sneak off behind the crates to grab 40 winks where the supervisor can't find me.

Ashley: You survived because you're lazy?

Shepard: You ditch work, then you cower back here and do nothing while the geth butcher everyone else.

Powell: I don't even have a gun. What was I suppose to do? Run out there and die ?

I couldn't save them... Nobody could. Everything was horrible.

Shepard: Tell me about this mothership you saw.

Powell: I've never seen anything like it before.

It was huge. Landed over near that platform. The whole place got dark as it came down

And...and it was making this noise. This sound that bored right into your brain.

That's what woke me up. The attack came in a few minutes later.

Shepard: Is there anything else you can tell me about the beacon?

Powell: They brought it here this morning. We loaded it up onto the tram and shipped it to the other platform.

Hard to believe that was only a few hours ago. Feels like a whole other life...

Shepard: We need to find that beacon before it's too late.

Powell: Take the cargo train. That's where the other turian went.

I... I can't stay here... I need to get away from all this.

Prologue | Mass Effect FULL RENEGADE (#1) - Duration: 17:28.

Ambassador Udina: Well, what about Shepard? Earthborn...but no record of her family.

Captain Anderson: Doesn't have one. She was raised on the streets. Learned to look out for herself

Admiral Hackett: She saw her unit killed on Torfan.

Captain Anderson: She got the job done. No matter what the cost.

Ambassador Udina: Is that the kind of person we want protecting the galaxy?

Captain Anderson: That's the only kind of person who can protect the galaxy.

Ambassador Udina: I'll make the call.

Joker: The Arturus Prime Relay is in range. Initiating transition sequence.

Joker: We are connected. Calculating transit mass and destination.

Joker: The relay is hot. Acquiring approach vector.

Joker: All stations secure for transit.

Joker: The board is green. Approach run has begun.

Joker: Hitting the relay in 3... 2... 1...

Joker: Thrusters... check. Navigation... check. Internal emissions sink engaged.

Joker: All systems online. Drift... just under 1500 K

Nihlus: 1500 K is good. Your captain will be pleased.

Joker: I hate that guy.

Kaidan: Nihlus gave you a complement... so you hate him?

Joker: You remember to zip up your jumpsuit on the way out of the bathroom? That's good.

Joker: I just jumped us halfway across the galaxy and hit a target the size of a pinhead. So that's incredible!

Joker: Besides, Spectres are trouble. I don't like having him on board. Call me paranoid.

Kaidan: You're paranoid.

Kaidan: The Counsel help fund this project. They have a right to send someone to keep an eye on their investment.

Joker: Yeah, that's the official story. But only an idiot believes the official story.

Shepard: That's enough. You're soldiers, act like it.

Kaidan: Sorry Commander.

[comm beep]

Captain Anderson: Joker! Status report.

Joker: Just cleared the mass relay, captain. Stealth systems engaged. Everything looks solid.

Capetian Anderson: Good. Find a comm bouy and link us into the network. I want mission reports back to the Alliance brass before we reach Eden Prime.

Joker: Aye, aye Captain. Better brace yourself, sir. I think Nihlus is headed you way.

Captain Anderson: He's already here, Lieutenant.

Captain Anderson: Tell Commander Shepard to meet me in the comm room for a debriefing.

[end comm beep]

Joker: You get that Commander?

Shepard: Great... you pissed the Captain off and now I'm going to pay for it.

Joker: Pfft don't blame me. The Captain is always in a bad mood.

Kaidan: Only when he's talking to you Joker.

[arguing]

Navigator Pressly: Congratulations, Commander. Looks like we had a smooth run. You heading down to see the Captain?

Shepard: Sounds like you don't trust our Turian guest.

Navigator Pressly: Sorry, Commander. Just having a chat with Adams down in engineering.

I didn't mean to cause any troubled.

But you have to admit somethings odd about this mission. The whole crew feels it.

Shepard: You think the Alliance brass is holding out on us?

Navigator Pressly: If all we're suppose to do is to test out the stealth system, why is Captain Anderson in charge?

And then there's Nihlus.

Spectres are elite operatives. Top covert agents.

Why send a spectre, a turian spectre on a shakedown run? It doesn't add up.

Shepard: You don't trust Nihlus?

Navigator Pressly: I don't like turians in general, runs in my family.

My grandfather fought in the First Contact War. Lost a lot of friends when the turians hit us.

Shepard: Nihlus is no ordinary turian.

Navigator Pressly: You got that right Commander. We're an Alliance vessel, human military, but Nihlus doesn't answer to the Captain like the rest of us.

Spectres opperate outside the normal chain of command.

They don't just come along to observe shakedown runs. Humph, Nihlus looks like he's expecting heavy action. I don't like it.

Shepard: Do you have a problem with the Captain?

Navigator Pressly: No ma'am. But I can't figure out what he's doing here.

Captain Anderson is one of the most decorated special forces officers in the service.

If he melted down all his metals he could make a life size statue of himself.

You don't send a solider like that on a do nothing mission.

He's treating this shakedown run too seriously. Something big is going on.

Shepard: What do you know about the stealth systems?

Navigator Pressly: I just know it masks our location from scans and sensors.

Cutting edge technology. And the Normandy is the only ship with this prototype drive.

But why are we fully staffed? A skeleton crew would be cheaper. Less chance of security leaks too.

Plus there's still Nihlus. It's pretty obvious this shakedown just a cover.

Shepard: A full crew makes sense. We need the extra hands in case anything goes wrong.

And the spectre is just here as an observer.

Navigator Pressly: Maybe you're right Commander, but I can't shake this feeling that we're out here on false pretenses.

Shepard: Info is on a need-to-know bases, Pressly. Just follow the orders you're given.

Navigator Pressly: Understood, Commander.

Corporal Jenkins: What do you think Commander? We wont be staying on Eden Prime to long will we? I'm itching for some real action.

Dr. Chakwas: I sincerely hope you're kidding Corporal. You're real action usually end with me patching crew members in the infirmary.

Shepard: Marines are meant to fight. You just fix us up when we're done.

Dr. Chakwas: I know how things work, Commander.

I've seen my share of combat, but it's foolish to go looking for trouble.

You both can take a lesson from the Captain. He's not afraid of combat, but he knows the value restraint too.

Corporal Jenkins: Sorry doc, but this waiting is killing me. I've never been on a mission like this before. Not one with a spectre on board.

Shepard: Do your job, follow my orders, and there wont be any problems.

Corporal Jenkins: Easy for you to say! You've proved yourself on Torfin. Everybody knows what you can do.

This is my big chance! I need to show the brass what I can do!

Shepard: This mission isn't about personal glory, Corporal. We have a job to do. Don't do anything stupid to mess it up.

Corproal Jenkins: Don't worry ma'am, I'm not going to screw this up

Shepard: You're from Eden Prime aren't you Jenkins? What's it like?

Corporal Jenkins: It's very peaceful, Commander. They've been real careful with development, so you don't have any city noise or pollution.

My parents lived on the outskirts of the colony. At night I used to climb this big hill and stare across the fields back at the lights from the main settlement.

It was gorgeous, but when I got older I realized it was a little too calm and quiet for me. That's why I joined the Alliance.

Even paradise gets boring after awhile.

Shepard: Any idea why Eden Prime was chosen as our destination?

Corporal Jenkins: Not really sure, Commander. Eden Prime is one of our most stable colonies. Good place to take the Normandy on a shakedown run I guess.

No real danger there, but there's got to be something else going on. We got a spectre on board! That's why I'm so wound up. I can't wait for the real missin to start.

Shepard: What do you know about the spectres?

Dr. Chakwas: Only what I've heard. Spectres agents work directly for the Citadel Counsel. They usually work alone or in small groups.

Spectres don't have any official power though. Basically they're a shadow organization with a mandate to preserve and protect galactic stability.

Corporal Jenkins: Protect at any cost. Don't forget that part. Spectres operate above the law.

Shepard: How do you control agents with unlimited power?

Dr. Chakwas: I suppose the Council could revoke the spectre status of an agent who've gone out of hand.

At that point Citadel security services would take over.

Corporal Jenkins: Though C-sec grunts wouldn't stand a chance. Spectres are worth 20 ordinary soldiers.

The spectres police themselves. An agent goes rouge they send another agent to take them down. that's spectre justice.

Dr. Chakwas: The Corporal is confusing romantic legends with reality, Commander.

Shepard: What can you tell me about Nihlus?

Dr. Chakwas: Turians are generally well respected by the other species. Their fleet has more portals protecting Citadel Space than any other.

They don't always get on well with us though. Some people find them too ridged. Others still blame them for the First Contact war.

As for Nihlus, I haven't said more than two words to him. He usually only speaks to the Captain.

Corporal Jenkins: I hope we get a chance to see him in action. I heard Nihlus took down an entire enemy platoon all by himself!

Shepard: The Captain is waiting for me.

Dr. Chakwas: Goodbye Commander.

Nihlus: Commander Shepard, I was hoping you get here first. It'll give us a chance to talk.

Shepard: The Captain said he meet me here.

Nihlus: He's on his way.

Nihlus: I'm interested in this world we're going to, Eden Prime. I've heard it's quite beautiful.

Shepard: I'm a marine, not some tourist on vacation.

Nihlus: It's more than just a tourist destination isn't it, Shepard?

Eden Prime is a symbol of your people. A perfect little world on the edges of your territory.

Proof that humanity can not only establish colonies across the galaxy, but also protect them. But how safe is it really?

Shepard: Are you trying to scare me Spectre?

Nihlus: Your people are still newcomers, Shepard. The galaxy can be a very dangerous place.

Is the Alliance truly ready for this?

Captain Anderson: I think it's about time we told the Commander what's really going on

Nihlus: This mission is far more than a simply shakedown run.

Shepard: Is someone going to fill me in Captian?

Captain Anderson: We're making a covert pickup on Eden Prime. That's why we needed the stealth system operational.

Shepard: I don't like being kept in the dark Captain.

Captain Anderson: This comes down from the top Commander. Information strictly on a need-to-know basses.

A research team on Eden Prime unearth some kind of beacon during an excavation.

It was Protean.

Shepard: I thought the Proteans vanished fifty-thousand years ago.

Nihlus: Their legacy still remains. The mass relay, the Citadel, our ship drives. It's all based on Protean technology

Captain Anderson: This is big Shepard. The last time humanity made a discovey like this, it jumped our technology forward 200 years.

But Eden Prime doesn't have the facility to handle something like this. We need to bring the beacon back to the Citadel for proper study.

Nihlus: Obviously this goes beyond mere human interests, Commander.

This discover could effect every species in Council Space.

Shepard: Why didn't we keep the beacon for ourselves?

Nihlus: You humans don't have the best reputation. Some species see you as selfish, too unpredictable, too independent, even dangerous.

Captain Anderson: Sharing this beacon will improve relations with the Council. Plus we need their scientific expertise. They know more about the Protean than we do.

Nihlus: The beacon's not the only reason I'm here Shepard.

Captain Anderson: Nihlus wants to see you in action Commander.

He's here to evaluate you.

Shepard: Since when do we answer to the spectres?

Captain Anderson: You're smart enough to know how things work Commander.

The Alliance have been pushing for this for a long time.

Humanity wants a larger role in shaping interstellar policies. We want more say with the Citadel Council.

The spectres represent the Council's power and authority. If they accept a human into their ranks, it shows how far the Alliance has come.

Nihlus: I was impressed when I studied teh reports from Torfin. Some grim business, but you got the job done.

That's why I put your name forward as a candidate for the spectres.

Shepard: Why would a turian want a human in the spectres?

Nihlus: Not all turians resent humanity. Some of us see the potential of your species. We see what you have to offer to the rest of the galaxy.

And to the spectres...

We are an elite group. It's rare to find an individual with the skills we seek.

I don't care you're human Shepard. I only care if you can do the job.

Shepard: I don't like people making decisions about my future.

Captain Anderson: This isn't about you Shepard. Humanity needs this. We're counting on you.

Nihlus: I need to see your skills for myself Commander. Eden Prime will be the first of several missions together.

Captain Anderson: You'll be in charge of the ground team. Secure the beacon and get it on the ship ASAP.

Nihlus will accompany you to observe the mission.

Shepard: I'd like to know more about Eden Prime before we touch down.

Captain Anderson: It's a peaceful farming world, but it represents something much bigger.

Eden Prime is one of our oldest and most successful colony. It proved we were ready to face the challenges of settling new worlds. To forge a place for humanity beyond Earth.

It symbolizes humanities growth and evolution as a space faring species. And after this it'll be known as the world where humans made a discovery of galactic importance.

Shepard: What do you know about the Protheans?

Captain Anderson: Just what they told us in school. They were a technologically advance species that ruled the galaxy fifty thousand years ago.

Then they vanished. Nobody really knows how or why. Though I've heard plenty of theories.

But everyone agrees, galactic civilization wouldn't exist without them.

Nihlus: Their Citadel is the very heart of galactic society. And without their mass relays interstellar travel would be impossible. We all owe the Proteans a great debt.

Shepard: Why is this beacon so important?

Nihlus: All advance galactic civilization is based on Prothean technology. Even yours.

Captain Anderson: If we haven't discovered those Prothean ruins buried on Mars, we'd still be stuck on Earth.

That was just a small data cash. Who knows what we could learn from this beacon. What if it's a weapons archive? We can't let it fall in the wrong hands.

Shepard: Like Who?

Captain Anderson: The Attican Traverse isn't the most stable sector of Citadel Space. There are plenty of raiders and criminal groups active in the region.

They might figure a Prothean beacon is worth the risk of attacking an Alliance ship. Plus Eden Prime is right on the boarder of the Terminus system.

Shepard: The Attican Traverse is under Citadel Protection. If the Terminus system attacked, it's an act of war.

Nihlus: Technically yes. But some of the species in the Terminus might be willing to start a war over this.

Captain Anderson: The last thing the Council wants is to get dragged into a major conflict with the Terminus systems. We have to keep this low key.

Shepard: Just give the word Captain.

Captain Anderson: We should be getting close to Eden-

Joker: Captain! We've got a problem!

Captain Anderson: What's wrong Joker?

Joker: Transmission from Eden Prime, sir. You better see this.

Captain Anderson: Bring it up on screen.

[laszer rifles firing]

[explosions]

Female Solider: Get down!

[explosions and gun shots]

Male Solider: We are under attack! Taking heavy casualties! I repeat, heavy casualties!

We can't- UGH! Get an e-vac!

They came out of nowhere! We need---

[massive droning sounds]

[screeching and explotions]

[static white noise]

Joker: Everything cuts out after that. No comm traffic at all. Just goes dead... There's nothing.

Captain Anderson: Reverse and hold at 38 point 5.

Captain Anderson: Status report!

Joker: Seventeen minutes out, Captain. No other Alliance ships in the area.

Captain Anderson: Take us in Joker. Fast and quiet. This mission just got a lot more complicated.

Nihlus: A small strike team can move quickly without drawing attention. It's our best shot at securing the beacon.

Captain Anderson: Grab your gear and meet us in the cargo hold.

Captain Anderson: Tell Alenko and Jenkins to suit up, Commander. You're going in.

The Beacon | Mass Effect FULL RENEGADE (#3) - Duration: 14:55.

Saren: Set the charges. Destroy the entire colony. Leave no evidence that we were here.

[zap]

[clicking from arming bomb]

Shepard: Normandy, the beacon is secured-- Kaidan: This is amazing!

Kaidan: Actual working Prothean technology, unbelievable.

Ashley: It wasn't doing anything like that when they dug it up.

Kaidan: Something must of activated it...

Shepard: Roger Normandy, standing by.

[zap]

Kaidan: Shepard!

Ashley: No! Don't touch her, it's too dangerous!

[static and screeching]

[explosion]

Benezia: Ahem, we identified the ship that touched down on Eden Prime.

The Normandy, a human Alliance vessel. It was under the command of Captain Anderson. They managed to save the colony.

Saren: And the beacon?

Benezia: One of the humans may have used it.

Saren: [yells angrily]

[crash]

Saren: [deep breathing]

Saren: This human... must be eliminated.

Kaidan: Doctor? Dr. Chakwas, I think she's waking up.

Dr. Chakwas: You has us worried there Shepard. How are you feeling?

Shepard: Like the morning after shore leave... How long was I out?

Dr. Chakwas: About 15 hours. Something happened down there with the beacon I think

Kaidan: It's my fault. I must of triggered some kind of security field when I approched it. You had to push me out of the way.

Shepard: I expect better of you Lieutenant. You endagered the entire mission.

Dr. Chakwas: Don't be so hard on him, Commander. We have no idea if that's what actually set it off.

Unfortunately we'll never get the chance to find out.

Kaidan: The beacon exploded, a system overload maybe. The blast knocked you cold. Williams and I had to carry you back here to the ship.

Shepard: What's the damage Doctor?

Dr. Chakwas: Physically you're fine, but I detected some usual brain activity. Abnormal beta waves.

I also noticed an increase in your rapid eye movement. Signs typically associated with intense dreaming.

Shepard: I saw... I'm not sure what I saw. Death, destruction, nothings really clear.

Dr. Chakwas: Hmmm... I better add this to my report. It may--

Oh, Captain Anderson.

Captain Anderson: How's our XO holding up doctor?

Dr. Chakwas: All the readings look normal. I'd say the Commander is going to be fine.

Captain Aderson: Glad to hear it. Shepard I need to speak with you... in private.

Kaidan: Aye aye, Captain. I'll be in the mess if you need me.

Captain Anderson: Sounds like that beacon hit you pretty hard, Commander. Are you sure you're ok?

Shepard: Intell dropped the ball, sir. We had no idea what we were walking into down there. That's why things went to hell.

Captain Anderson: The geth haven't been outside the Veil in two centuries, Commander. Nobody could've predicted this.

Shepard: Did we leave Gunnery Chief Williams back on Eden Prime?

Captain Anderson: I figured we could use a solider like her. She's been resigned on the Normandy.

Shepard: I don't want her on my ship.

Captain Anderson: I'm the captain of this ship, Commander. And I want Williams on our crew.

Shepard: You said you needed to see me in private, Captain.

Captain Anderson: I wont lie to you Shepard. Things look bad. Nihlus is dead, the beacon was destroyed, and geth are invading. The Council is going to want answers.

Shepard: The Council can kiss my ass. I wont let them blame me for loosing the beacon. I didn't do anything wrong.

Captain Anderson: I'll stand behind you and your report Shepard. You're a damn hero in my books. That's not why I'm here.

It's Saren. That other turian. Saren's a spectre, one of the best. A living legend.

But if he's working with the geth, it means he's gone rouge.

A rouge spectre is trouble. Saren's dangerous and he hates humans.

Shepard: He didn't come to Eden Prime because he hates humans

Captain Anderson: You're right. Saren has allied himself with the geth.

I don't know how. I don't know why... but it had something to do with that beacon.

You were there just before that beacon destructed. Did you see anything? Any clue that might tell us what Saren was after?

Shepard: Just before I lost consciousness I had some kind of vision.

Captain Anderson: A vision? A vision of what?

Shepard: I saw synthetics, geth maybe. Slaughtering people... butchering them.

Captain Anderson: We need to report this to the Council, Sheppard.

Shepard: They'll think I'm crazy.

Captain Anderson: We don't know what information was stored in that beacon. Lost Prothean technology, blueprints for some ancient weapon of mass destruction, whatever it was.

Saren took it...

But I know Saren.

I know his reputation is politics. He believes humans are a blight on the galaxy. This attack was an act of war.

He has the secrets from the beacon. He has an army of geth at his command, and he wont stop until he's wiped humanity from the face of the galaxy.

Shepard: I'll find some way to take him down.

Captain Anderson: It's not that easy. He's a spectre. He can go anywhere, do almost anything. That's why we need the Council on our side.

Shepard: When have they ever done anything for humanity?

Captain Anderson: If we expose Saren as a traitor the Council we revoke his spectre status. I'll contact the ambassador. And see if he can get us an audience with the Council.

he'll want to see us as soon as we reach the Citadel. We should be getting close.

Head up to the bridge and tell Joker to bring us in to dock.

Kaidan: Commander, I'm glad to see you're ok. Loosing Jenkins was hard on the crew. I'm gald we didn't loose you too.

Shepard: Things were pretty rough down there.

Kaidan: Yeah, you never get used to seeing dead civilians. Doesn't seem right somehow. But at least you stopped Saren from wiping out the whole colony.

Shepard: Dead marines, dead colonists, and in the end we still didn't get that beacon.

Kaidan: Maybe your right. Things went bad, real bad. I still can't believe we lost Jenkins.

Shepard: There's nothing we could of done to save him.

Kaidan: I know that, but I don't have to like it. It's been a hell of a shakedown cruse.

Our first mission ends with one spectre killing another. The Citadel Council is not going to be happy about that.

Probably use it to leverage more concessions out of the Alliance.

Shepard: There's something big coming. I don't want anyone messing it up. You read me Lieutenant?

Kaidan: Five-by-five ma'am. Is there anything else before we head ashore?

Kaidan: Keep your concerns in check. You don't want to get a rep for questioning orders.

Kaidan: Aye aye, ma'am.

Dr. Chakwas: Yes, Commander? Is there something you need?

Kaidan: How well do you know the Lieutenant?

Dr. Chakwas: I never worked with him before this mission, but he has an impressive service record. Over a dozen special commendations.

Tends to keep to himself though. Maybe because of the headaches. It's not easy being an L2.

Shepard: What does that have to do with it?

Dr. Chakwas: Well most biotics now use the L3 implants. Lieutenant Alenko was wired with the old L2 configuration. Sometimes there are complications.

Shepard: What kind of complications?

Dr. Chakwas: Severe mental disabilities, insanity, crippling physical pain. There's a long list of horrific side effects. Kaidan's lucky, he just gets migraines.

Shepard: What do you know about Captain Anderson?

Dr. Chakwas: I served with him for a few tours now. He knows when to let things slide and when to crack the whip.

The crew knows he's seen pretty much anything they'll ever run into. And he cares about the people under his command.

Shepard: How did you end up serving on an Alliance ship?

Dr. Chakwas: I enlisted right out of med school. Earth always seemed boring to me. To safe, to secure. I figured the colonies were teeming with exotic adventures.

I wanted to travel the stars, tending to wounds of tough soldiers with piercing eyes and sensitive souls. Heheh, turns out military life isn't quite as romantic as I'd imagine.

But humanity needs the Alliance if we want to keep expanding through the traverse. And the Alliance always needs good doctors. So I stayed on to do my part.

Shepard: Ever think you made the wrong choice?

Dr. Chakwas: Sometimes I think opening a private practice back on earth. Or maybe taking a position at one of the new med centers out in the colonies.

But there's something special about working on soldiers. If I left the Alliance now I'd feel like I was abandoning them.

Shepard: I should go.

Dr. Chakwas: Goodbye, Commander.

Ashley: After what happened to Jenkins the crew could use some good news. They'll be glad to hear you're ok.

Shepard: Sounds like you're disappointed I survived.

Ashley: I never want to see anything bad happen to a fellow marine, Commander. Let's just leave it at that.

Shepard: Do you have a problem with me, Chief?

Ashley: You questioned my competence through the entire mission.

Shepard: Best way to stop that is to show me you're competent. But I don't remember inviting you to come back to the ship with us.

Ashley: You didn't. Captain Anderson did.

Shepard: I think we got off on the wrong foot Williams. Maybe we could start again?

Ashley: I'm not one to hold a grudge. I think we're all looking to put Eden Prime behind us.

Shepard: Things we're pretty rough down there. Are you ok?

Ashley: I've seen friends die before. Comes with being a marine, but to see my whole unit wiped out. And you never get used to seeing dead civilians... but things would have been a lot worse if you hadn't shown up.

Shepard: Dead marines, dead colonists... and in the end we still didn't get that beacon.

Ashley: You saved a lot of lives Commander. It might be hard to keep that in perspective with what happened to Jenkins.

Shepard: I'm not looking for a shoulder to cry on Williams. Just stay focused on your job.

Ashley: Understood, ma'am.

Joker: Good timing, Commander. I was just about to bring us in to the Citadel. See that tax payer money at work.

Ashley: Look at the size of that ship!

Kaidan: The Ascension, the flag ship of the Citadel fleet.

Joker: Well size isn't everything...

Ashley: Why so touchy Joker?

Joker: I'm just saying you need firepower too.

Ashley: Look at that monster, its main gun could rip through the barriers of any ship in the Alliance fleet.

Kaidan: Good thing it's on our side then.

Joker: Citadel Control, this is SSV-Normandy, requesting permission to land.

Citadel Control: Stand by for clearance Normandy...

Citadel Control: Clarence granted, you may begin your approach. Transfering you to an Alliance opperator.

Joker: Roger, Alliance Tower. Normandy out.

Alliance: Normandy, this is Alliance tower. Please proceed to Dock 422.

DIY ☆ CREA tus propios GUANTES de GRUPOS KPOP l Tutorial Fácil l KPOP GLOVES ♥ | Fabbi Lee - Duration: 7:34.

Hello! Welcome to Fabbi Lee

How are you? I hope you are well, I am happy to be here with you

As you can see the title of the video, today I am going to teach you how to make KPOP GROUP GLOVES

They are super nice, very cheap and also cheap.

These are from here, and I made them from BTS because I really like it

Because BTS is one of my favorite groups.

But you can do it from the group you want, this is just a demonstration

This is how they are put, they are super cute and in winter I will use them more often

Because they are super comfortable and very hot

I hope you like it a lot and LET'S START!

Materials:

FABRICS, black and white.

Fabric glue

Pins and Scissors

Black thread

You are going to download the template that is in the description box of the video

If you want you can draw it, it's not so difficult

Keep in mind that the template should be the exact size of our hand

Extend the black fabric, fold it in two

Above, place the template and mark its full outline

This step you will do it twice

Put pins

And cut adding to the edges 1cm

That will serve for sewing

It is very important that they add 1cm because if they do not the glove will be very small

Now you're going to sew what I'm indicating

After sewing you will remove the pins

And at the top, you're going to fold 1/2 cm inward, as I show you

Hold it with the pins

This way I should stay

And repeat the same here, fold 1/2 cm inwards

Since you have it that way, you're going to sew it

But if you want you can stick it with the fabric glue

After sewing, remove the pins

And this would be the result

I really like it as it shows sewn

At the bottom you will do the same, fold 1/2 cm inwards

And you also have to sew it, but if you want you can stick it with fabric glue

After sewing, turn it over

And we will have the gloves ready

Now you are going to cut the logo of your kpop group on the white cloth, you will do it 2 times. In my case I did BTS

The next thing is to stick the logo on the glove, just like I put it

Do not worry about white lint as it can be taken out.

Grasp a piece of masking tape and pass it over the glove, this way

And you already have the gloves clean

As decoration you can add screws or tacks

And on the top you'll hit it

We let it dry for a moment

And ready! Finished

If you liked the video dale hand up, that makes me very happy

Also comment what tutorials you want to see on the channel

Remember: This is just a demonstration, you can make the group gloves you want

Just change the logo that appears on the gloves

Transition Is Often Not Under Your Control from Transition is the New Normal 2016 - Duration: 0:50.

It's an opportunity for you to readjust your course.

To perhaps see where you've been on a path that is not the path for you.

Which is perhaps why -- layoffs are horrible because it usually has -- in most cases -- I

would say 99% of the cases -- it has nothing to do with you.

A lot of us have been in that position.

That project didn't come through.

That sale didn't get made.

Well, guess, what?

We don't have the work for the people we've staffed up to do.

Take that to heart and see this truly as an opportunity for you to move beyond a company

that is perhaps struggling or needs to evaluate its own priorities and evaluate your own.

See this as an opportunity to get a little "kick in the butt" sometimes which we all

need on many occasions and more forward.

What is Windows 10 S, when we can download it for free. Can we say it as an alternative to Chrome OS - Duration: 2:41.

What is windows 10 S. Is it free to download?

Why it is currently available with high end surface laptop for now.

How it is different from other versions of Windows.

Today we are going to talk about all this stuff in this video so stay tuned as it is

small video so watch it full not to skip anything.

My name is Atul and you are watching Techobia.

As you know recently Microsoft launched its new surface laptop in US with its starting

price $1000, and students can avail for additional discount of 10%.

As there are already many blogs who already had written about this and there are already

many videos on youtube published about this.

If you have watched videos those you already have an idea about it but I was shocked when I

saw that people are comparing it with chrome OS.

This doesn't make any sense to me if this make sense to you let me know in your comments

that how good to compare a light weight operating system which has all cloud features available

for free and can be installed on any old machine as well - with - an OS which is designed for

high end series and even we are not sure that this will be available for free or not.

First thing first, why it is different from other windows.

Windows S is an operating system where you are not able to able to execute any .exe file

means no software can be installed and you are bound to use only apps which are available

in app store so you have to use edge browser until Firefox or chrome will be available

to use via store.

I hope this explains everything to you how much limitations you have for it, no doubt

its a good fit for college students and I am sure they will get benefits from other manufacturers

like Asus who have some tablets coming up with starting range from $190 with windows

s.

If they have such an operating system with such high limitations then It should free

to use by public on their laptops so that everyone will get benefit of it.

But no details available up to yet.

whereas we have this update available that people who are getting windows s with surface

laptop can upgrade it to windows 10 pro by paying $49 additional to it.

I hope now you now you know what windows 10 s is and what are its limitations.

We have no information to use it for free in future.

Only have news that because of this we are expecting some low price upcoming laptops

but no details about their specs.

Please give it thumbs up if you like and subscribe if you love.

Signing off for today.

Bye bye

New Faculty Profile: Aaron Ames - Duration: 2:55.

I started reading Sci-Fi books from a young age.

They just fascinated me and when I went

to grad school, I wanted to do robots

and specifically walking robots.

I'm Aaron Ames, I'm the Bren Professor of

Mechanical and Civil Engineering at Caltech.

To me, walking has always been a special phenomenon

because what the human system has to do

is so incredibly complex, but in the end

there's a smooth natural motion that

flows out of humans.

I wan to understand how to do that in robots.

How do you take all this math and all these algorithms,

all this you know bits - ones and zeros -

and make this fluid, elegant motion

that comes out the back end.

So, a couple of things we've been able to do

that are notable: One, on the humanoid robot, DURUS

we've been able to achieve full 3-D walking

with normal human feet...

So now this has an extra motor here.

together with an actuated ankle,

and it has articulated toes and heels

so it can come down and impact the ground

and come forward up on the toe and then continue.

If you ever want to shock a shoe salesman,

go into a store with a robotic foot, and ask

to get this size for a shoe!

...What are we going to do with them?

Why do we want to understand walking?

Well, this is our powered prosthetic, AMPRO3.

This is an actuated prosthetic device.

It actually has two degrees of freedom at the ankle.

One is a passive roll, the other one is driven by a

motor up here - it drives the ankle.

We also drive the knee with a motor up there.

So far this device has only been tested on grad students

but we'd like to do some exhaustive clinical testing

and show, ultimately, that this makes people walk better.

That's the goal - to have experimental evidence

that people walk more efficiently with this device

than they would with existing devices.

To me, there are two applications of robotics that are very exciting:

helping people with robotic assistive devices and exoskeletons

and getting robots where people can't go.

So, getting robots to Mars and beyond, you know?

Capturing asteroids and exploring them with robots.

So, getting robots out into space...

I think these are the two intersection points

where robotics gets incredibly exciting right now.

To me, in the end, mathematics and

understanding why things actually work the way they do

is the only way to really make

fundamental, impactful contributions.

I do robots, but really I don't do robots.

What I actually do is math, and I put them on robots.

So robots are the expression of the mathematics

and this is why, to me

Caltech is such a perfect fit.

It lets me be myself and express myself

to the world through these platforms.

How Your Friends Can Affect Your Opinions - Duration: 5:31.

You probably have strong opinions about all kinds of things:

like whether Coke is better than Pepsi, which football team deserves to win the Super Bowl,

or which Chris is the dreamiest movie star—Pratt, Pine, Hemsworth, or Evans.

Why are there so many Chrises?

But are all those opinions really yours?

Humans are social creatures.

And when we talk about anything from TV shows to politics,

lots of psychological phenomena come into play.

Sometimes, this can lead to bad judgments and biased opinions.

But by knowing how your thoughts can be swayed, you can recognize it when it's happening—

and maybe stop it.

One kind of bias can come from the company you keep.

It's normal to be friends with people who have similar opinions and values.

But many studies have shown that when you talk with people who feel similarly about things,

you can end up with even more extreme opinions.

In other words, you get polarized.

For example, some experiments have asked people to decide on a risky business proposition together,

and found that groups of risk-takers get even more risky, while risk-avoiders get less risky.

But it's hard to escape polarization: it can also happen when you have strong opinions

that are challenged by others.

One study in 2011 had people with diverse views on a social issue respectfully discuss their opinions.

Those who already had more extreme beliefs, both for and against the issue,

showed even more polarization afterwards.

This is called a boomerang effect, where a counter-argument makes someone believe even

more strongly in their original judgment.

Researchers think this is partly due to your social identity:

the fact that your beliefs and the groups you belong to are part of who you are, so you defend them.

So if you and your friends are die-hard peanut M&M fans, hearing a case for crispy M&Ms could

just make you extra defensive of your peanut-loving identity.

I know it does that to me.

Another way your opinions can be swayed in a debate has to do with what you think of first—

because that can act as an anchor, basically a starting point, for the rest of your thoughts.

One study in 2000 involved taking an old car to 60 car experts,

including mechanics and car dealers.

The pretend-customer told the expert what they thought the car was worth, either higher

or lower than it actually was, then asked for the expert's judgment.

And the initial suggestion affected the experts' estimates, making them similarly higher or lower.

Psychologists think this is partially due to selective accessibility, where an anchor

makes some information more available in your mind, which affects your opinions.

For example, a small study in 2010 even found that when it was warmer outside, or people

were simply asked to think about hot things,

their responses to survey questions showed that they believed more strongly in global warming.

So if you stumble upon a flame war online, for example, the first thing you read in the

comments could cause selective accessibility and shape your thoughts—

although there hasn't really been research into that kind of anchoring.

Your opinions can also be influenced when you're trying to make a decision with a

group because of something called groupthink,

which can make you blind to bad reasoning.

Let's say you're a Doctor Who fan and enter a heated debate after someone influential

claims that, hands-down, Matt Smith's Eleventh Doctor is the best one.

A discussion begins with that anchor, filled with a bunch of pro-Matt Smith arguments.

Maybe you're more of a Tom Baker fan and you think that bow ties just aren't that cool,

but you keep your mouth shut in self-censorship, figuring that other people won't want to hear your opinion.

You might notice that any arguments that other Doctors might be better are rationalized by

the group, meaning that they are dismissed as bad arguments.

Or people might stereotype David Tennant's fans, saying they only liked him because of

his looks, and ignoring their opinions.

After lots of keysmashing back and forth, it seems like everyone agrees that Eleven

is the best, but that's not necessarily true—

it's what psychologists call an illusion of unanimity.

And when people think everyone agrees, they're more likely to adjust their opinion.

When deciding on anything, from government policy to a group project at school,

all of these and other characteristics of groupthink can influence decisions and shut down critical debate.

So ... it might seem like your opinions aren't ever really yours.

But there are ways to fight against the influence of polarization, anchoring, and groupthink.

Essentially, it all comes down to critical thinking, and considering why your opinion

might be wrong or too extreme, not just why it might be right.

Some studies have found that having someone play the Devil's Advocate can help, genuinely

arguing against the preferred decision and asking thoughtful questions.

But an extreme counter-argument can also backfire and cause the boomerang effect.

Other research has shown it can help to talk with others outside of your group,

and listen to diverse opinions.

You might discover that what you thought was normal actually was an extreme stance, or that

the issue is more complex than you thought.

Also, you can learn about something or start a group discussion before forming a strong opinion—

like, reading a bunch of news articles for yourself before reading the comments or tweetstorms about them.

We're all naturally influenced by the people around us—

it's unavoidable, and it isn't necessarily a bad thing.

But by being aware of bias and potentially bad choices, you can take back some control

and know that it's okay to speak up, disagree, and change your mind.

After all, we're all learning here.

But peanut M&Ms are the best.
