New cans in Polish military rations (August 2017)

Hi, this is Delicious, today we will test

some new can from Polish military rations

and for the first time I will taste

the bread, which is a part of soldier's food

this is a shelf stable bread

which can be refreshed

we will start with bacon luncheon meat

then we have lisiecka luncheon meat (spam)

and the 'pork special' spam

this is leczo with sausage ('Hungarian ' style dish)

and something, what I am very curious about

pork in horseradish gravy

let's start with the bread

it is about the best before date

today we have 7th of August

and this is till 10th Aug

we have to refresh it

on of the methods is putting it

the whole loaf into hot water

together with this foil, the water

should be about 90 degrees Celsius (195 F)

I will start with this, then we will open the rest

the bread was for 30 min in hot water

time to unpack

this is a rye bread, big loaf - 700g (1,5 pound)

inside we have a second bag

has a very nice smell

we'll give it a couple of minutes to dry

all these 3 cans are made by Sokołów from Poland

this is 'pork special'

all are made of pork

77% of pork meat

(100g can)

nice texture, a bit of jelly

nice smell

Lisiecka spam

the name remains of the famous sausage Lisiecka

84% of meat

as you can see it is more smooth

more coarse

and the bacon spam/luncheon meat

smoked bacon (pork) 58%

28% pork meat

some other addtitions

this is 190g

a lot of liquid

which will turn into the jelly

in the fridge

we can see quite big chunks of bacon

let's taste !

nice smell

really tasty

now Lisiecka spam

we can see bigger chunks of meat

another spices

but really, really good

bacon spam

looks a bit different

we can see big chunks of bacon

it is more fatty

the taste is not very different, but you can taste some smoke

it is more chevy

it is less ground

now the same with the bread

I have to take a knife

look at the cross section

beautiful !

nice, even structure

really fresh

the smell is a bit sour - sourdough bread

I will try first on its own

it is moist

it is really tasty

now with the pork special

a bit of butter would be fantastic

both things are tasty

a bit dry together

but this makes a tasty set

the next will be one of the entrees

first I will taste something

what I am really curious about

this is something new

with another taste idea

pork in horseradish-roast gravy

until now we had groats with meat

bigos (sauerkraut stew)

beans with sausage

for the first time we have horserdish gravy

it is produced by Rolnik (Poland)

most of the entrees in Polish rations are produced

by this company

50% - pork shoulder meat

50% - horseradish gravy

300g in total

I will heat it in the hot water

it should be probably opened a bit

and to heat in the water

not reaching the edge

I put the whole , closed can

into the water

not boiling

about 90 degrees Celsius (195 F)

but this is enough

10-15 minutes

is enough

it is already heated

it was kept in hot water (80-90 deg C)

-simmering water

if you don't know how to keep such temperature

or when such temperature is reached

you can buy such a simple device

steak thermometer

for a couple of dollars

and you can controll the temperature

this is quite hot

best before date is Sep 2018

I read the label in the meantime

and it goes in a 'western' direction

a lot of additives

some 'improvements'

like palm oil

I don't like it

Let's see anyway

pork in horseradish gravy

the cans are made of aluminium

and are very lightweight

they get hot very quickly

I think - 10 minutes in hot water is really enough

very nice smell !

this are enormous chunks of meat

(pork shoulder)

this is not ground meat

just big chunks

time to taste !

wonderful smell !

some fatty , some lean chunks

well cooked

now the gravy

it is really tasty

I would add some pepper

which is usually in the ration

it is really good

I can taste the horseradish just a bit

I like this spice and I would add much more of it

much much more of horseradish :)

I will taste it with a cracker

This is known Polish special cracker

this one comes from a Lithuanian ration

I had it a couple days ago

this menu

I will add a bit of this cracker

to get more crunchy

If I add pepper of green tabasco

it will become perfect

The crackers give always some texture

something to crunch

I will eat it in a moment

I will spice it up a bit (I added the pepper and the horseradish)

then we will taste out leczo with sausage

This is a kind of vegetable stew with tomato sauce

and some meat (here- sausage)

produced by Rolnik

('the farmer')

inside we have:

sausage 50%

spices, red bell pepper

this is also a big can - 300g

this time we will not heat it up

in the hot water

we will heat it in the field :)

I have here the portable stove (Esbit) from Polish ration

fuel tablets from French ration

and to make it more international

Dutch matches

I will go with this outside

and warm it there

first I will open the can

a bit

this is not kasha/groats with meat

it shouldn't get burnt

it is rather runny

the fuel tablet

one should be enough

this is for 8-10 min

I wonder if I can lit it with one match :)

it started to burn

let's leave it for about 10 min

I will try to stir it a bit

there should be no problem with burnt content

it's been boiling for 12 min

by the way

I checked that this grip from SRG ration

doesn't fit the new cans

they are too high

I will put it into a bowl

the bottom is reeeally hot

a bit burnt

what a wonderful smell !!!

some red bell pepper

and tomato sauce

let's taste

very tasty !

the sausage has a strong smoked taste

all the sauce has this smokeness from this sausage

maybe some of the taste comes from this a bit burned can

really delicious !

the vegetables are of course very tender

I will eat it with pleasure

I will eat it with a slice

of this rye sourdough bread

this bread which I refreshed

still moist

soft, smells good

Use a thick paper to make a gift box

Tuck in the pocket

Reinforce the creases

Fold the lid like this and put things in the box

To close the lid, fold the top triangles first

The triangle flaps will stay vertically, if not, tie a ribbon or rubber band

How to arranging the box shape

Calculate the paper size

Hold X side of the paper into half (make sure which is X and Y before you hold)

Measure the B length of the box

B length is here

Back to 01:24 and fold the same way (no more measurement)

Fold about 2 cm here with any box shape

Tips for making a laminated box

First, make a box without laminating

Cut 3 mm off from all the four sides

Put inside the laminate sheet

Laminate it (while pulling little bit to make it flat)

Leave 3 mm margins on all the sides and cut off

It's easy to fold with the crease lines

Press the creases with low heat

Wait until it becomes cool and it will be fixed

That is the view of pundit and Chelsea legend Frank Lampard, who thinks Chalobah could have been a key part of the Blues' first-team squad this season.

The former England under-21 international completed a permanent switch to Watford last month for an undisclosed fee, with some reports claiming it to be worth £6million.

It has been a turbulent summer for Conte at Chelsea and he saw his nine-man side suffer a shock 3-2 defeat to Burnley in their first Premier League game of the season yesterday.

The Italian manager named a number of youngsters on the bench and gave 20-year-old academy graduate Jeremie Boga his first league start for Chelsea.

Chelsea are often criticised for letting too many players go out on loan but Lampard believes the permanent departure of Chalobah is an even worse decision.

"Looking at the number of players gone out on loan, 17 or something, but a lot of them are not near the first team," Lampard said on BT Sport.

"I've seen a lot of them and it's not a criticism of them, they're developing as players, they're not knocking on the door to make a difference.

"There are some there, Boga as I said had a good pre-season. "Losing Chalobah I think was a mistake. I don't know quite how it happened, for quite a low price as well.

"(Ruben) Loftus-Cheek, he's got to take it upon himself this season to show why they let him out and to show he needs to be back there.

Nuclear shield against Kim faces SHUTDOWN as South Koreans refuse US system

RUMBLED: South Koreans arent united their country hosting Donald Trumps nuclear shield.

Under its last president, South Korea agreed to host the US-owned Terminal High Altitude Area Defence (THAAD) system. It's an anti-missile system designed to swat hostile rockets out of the sky before they can hit their targets and explode.

But it's proved controversial and protesters are piling pressure on the South's new president to axe the scheme.

Losing it would strip the US and South Korea of a formidable barrier against Kim Jong-un's missile arsenal. In Seongju County, 180 miles south of North Korea's border, a THAAD survey has already been delayed.

The US army said it needed additional cooperation of nearby residents for the survey to go ahead. And on Saturday, 100 residents of the county came out to oppose further THAAD deployment.

Moon Jae-in, the South's new president, agreed four additional mobile launchers for the system. Once they're active, the country would technically have a full THAAD battery, according to local media.

But residents were having none of it, taking to the streets to voice their displeasure at the government's move. Among locals, some fear the X-band radar used by the launchers could harm health and agriculture, the Korea Herald reports.

PEOPLE POWER: A protest against the deployment of THAAD in Seongju earlier this year.

FRIENDS IN HIGH PLACES: South Korean President Moon Jae-in with his US counterpart Donald Trump. Others are concerned about the diplomatic impact, with Russia and China both strongly opposing the system in case it's used to spy on them.

Noh Soo-deok – a 76-year-old from Soseong-ri, a village in Seongju County – appealed to Donald Trump directly to halt the roll-out. I dont know what THAAD is for and why you are bringing it to my village, she said.

But THAAD seems like a bad thing. The military is imposing it on us as if we are in war. My village was quiet and peaceful even during the Korean War.

Why do we have to have such war machines here now? I hear that once THAAD is here, I cannot live here anymore. During his campaign, President Moon called for a parliamentary review of the launchers' deployment.

And in June, the liberal leader suspended further roll-outs, only to change his mind in July. It comes after North Korea snubbed peace talks with Moon as "nonsense" last month.

SHOCK: Obamas former spy chief said the denuclearisation option will not be viable.

Former Director of US Intelligence James Clapper said he doesn't foresee a situation where Kim would be willing to give up his missiles. Id love to see it, but I dont think thats in the cards," Clapper said on Sunday.

Clapper, who served as US spying top dog while Barack Obama was President, said the denuclearisation option was a "non-starter".

He said the North Korean government views its nuclear weapons program as its ticket to survival" and will not give it up under any circumstances. "Ideally I would love a denuclearised North Korea," Clapper told CNN.

"But as I learned when I went there an had some pretty intense dialogue with them, that is a non-starter for them.

"I don't see any way they are going to give it up." The former top spy also blasted Donald Trump's bombastic rhetoric, arguing his response to the crisis needed to be more measured.

Many people, myself included, would argue for more temperate language than the fire and fury kind of thing, Clapper said.

Last week the President said North Korea would experience "fire and fury like the world has never seen" if it were to attack US territory. Trump has warned North Korea that the US military was "locked and loaded" for war.

While Pyongyang has angrily accused Trump of warmongering and pushing them to nuclear war.

Conor McGregor addresses the media after his open workout in Las Vegas.

During the whirlwind press tour to promote his August 26 boxing match with Floyd Money Mayweather, McGregor found himself in hot water after calling his upcoming opponent a 'boy', a word which has significant racial connotations in America.

In the past, and unfortunately today, the word was used by some Caucasian-Americans to belittle African-American men, so it's use still has a stinging effect on many members of the community.

McGregor, who was called to many of his opponents 'boy', tried to make light of the situation during the New York press conference, claiming the notion of him being a racist was 'f**king ridiculous'.

The Notorious courted found himself embroiled in another controversy after the tours Los Angeles stop during an interview with Jimmy Kimmel Live, in which he was asked who would win a fight between himself and Rocky Balboa from Rocky 3.

The first fighter in UFC history to hold two titles simultaneously responded by saying: "Rocky III? "I'm trying to remember which one was Rocky III.

Was that the one in the celebrity gym? I can't remember if that's the one with the dancing monkeys or not." Many deemed McGregor's 'dancing monkeys' comment as a direct reference to the black fighters sparring in Apollo Creed's Tough Gym in Los Angeles, which Rocky goes to train in after his loss to Clubber Lang.

The Irishman was given the benefit of the doubt by many, who were adamant it was impossible to know 29-year-old was referring to.

McGregor discussed the matter during an interview with MMA Fightings Ariel Helwani and revealed the comment was a reference to the gym Rocky was training in at the beginning of the film, which featured a host of celebrities and dancing women.

"And he said Rocky 3, and I was like 'Is Rocky 3 the one with the gym with the circus and the monkeys?' Because he had a specialized gym built that was like a circus, a celebrity circus, there was clowns, there was all this kind of stuff.

And that's what I meant by that.

"And then [Mayweather] tried to twist and manipulate. But hey, all I can say, if anyone is offended, I apologize. But it was not meant in that way at all. His people know it.

It's a weak move on his part. It's a weasel move on his part. I can do nothing but just carry on, and that's it.".
