Hey everyone !
Today we'll be making the very famous TMNT's pizza with pepperoni slices, and mozzarella cheese on top of tomato sauce.
Before we start, please make sure you are subscribed to this channel :D
Let's get started with the recipe.
In a mixing bowl, add the dry yeast, sugar and lukewarm water and mix.
Cover and let it rest for 10min in order to activate the yeast.
Add olive oil, the flour and salt and lightly mix with your fingers.
Once the dough starts shaping a little bit, transfer to your working surface.
Knead the dough with your hands for a few minutes until it becomes a homogeneous ball.
Then transfer back to the mixing bowl and cover with plastic wrap.
Let the dough rise in a warm space for around 1 ½ hours to 2 hours.
Once the dough has doubled in size, divide in 2 equal portions and start making your pizza crust.
First oil your pizza pan with a little bit of olive oil.
Then spread the dough flat with your fingertips.
If you like a thick crust edge, simply fold the edges of the crust and pinch them with your fingertips.
Then stab gently the whole surface of your pizza crust with a fork.
And now let's prepare the sauce and toppings.
Spread 4-5 tbs of tomato sauce (marinara or else) all over the pizza.
If you didn't fold the crust edges then leave 1 ½ cm on the outside without sauce to make our thin crust edge.
Place the mozzarella slices on top of the sauce.
Add your mix of grated cheese on top.
And lastly add the pepperoni or salami slices.
If your pepperoni slices are too big, use a small round cookie cutter or a bottle cap to make the slices smaller, that's exactly what we did!
Cook your pizza in a 240°C/460°F preheated oven for around 18min.
Keep a close eye on it, once the bottom seems cooked, it's time to take it out of the oven, by that time if the cheese is not melted or crispy enough put the oven on broiler mode for an additional 2min.
Before eating/serving, please don't forget to dab off the excess oil/fat with a paper towel.
