I know, I know, I'm a little late with getting this video up, but it's okay, because I
have a very good reason.
You guys are not going to believe this reason, this reason is just…yeah, oh, this reason,
man.
It's something.
You see, I couldn't get this video up earlier because I was -
…fighting crime in Gotham City.
I'm Batman.
What is up, my fellow Money Minions!
My name is Troy, also known as - the Dollar Dude.
Welcome to another video, and as all the money minions out there know, we talk personal finance
and building a life full of financial freedom here and we keep it as simple as and real-world
as possible.
If you're down with that and you're not yet a minion, hit that subscribe button and
that little bell icon next to it so you don't miss me.
Aww.
Minions, I'm coming at you with a very special collab with my friend, entrepreneur and fellow
finance YouTuber Connie Porter, which if you're not subscribed to Connie, what's wrong with
you?
Seriously, what's wrong with you?
So Connie and I wanted to talk to you guys about excuses.
Excuses with money, excuses with time, whatever.
They've gotta stop.
Everyone's guilty of this.
No exceptions.
I made excuses as for why I'm so big.
I'd say, oh I'm too busy to work out, or too busy to cook healthy meals, the list
goes on.
But eventually I just had to look in the mirror and realize the reason why I'm fat is because
for the first 27 years of my life I ate deep dish pizzas for dinner pretty much every night.
And the most exercise I ever got was walking to the mailbox which knowing me, probably
contained coupons to get more pizza.
I got myself into this situation and I can get myself out.
It's on me.
No excuses.
Now, I'm making sure exercise is a part of my routine and my diet has vastly improved.
Especially now that I'm debt free and I've got a big emergency fund and I'm investing
well, I'd like to actually be alive for a while to enjoy some of this newfound financial
freedom.
You know what I'm saying?
There's a thought, right?
Let me know down in the comments what some of your biggest excuses are and what you're
doing to correct them.
Don't be scared, this is a no-judgement zone.
It'll be therapeutic, I promise.
One saying that really helps me avoid making excuses and helps with putting excuses into
perspective is this.
We have all the time there is.
We have all the time that exists for as long as we are alive.
It's what we choose to do with it.
When people say, oh I don't have time to do this, oh I don't have time for that.
No.
It's not something you didn't have time for.
It's something that you didn't want or didn't need to allocate time for.
You and I have the same 24 hours in a day that everyone else gets, and it's up to
you how you allocate that.
"Oh, I really want to do yoga on the weekends but I don't have time for it."
No, you could have allocated time for it, but you chose not to because other things
on your weekends were either of higher priority or higher importance for you, personally.
You could have taken a yoga class, but it may have meant sacrificing making dinner for
your kids - higher importance.
Or higher personal priority, you could have gone to yoga but you wanted to catch up on
Game of Thrones to see what your girl Daenerys was up to.
Probably something with dragons and fire, I don't know.
I'm still on season one.
Anyway, the point is that you are in control of your time and if you want to do something
badly enough, you allocate a portion of your time to it.
Same deal with money.
If you want to save up for a vacation, you budget for it, which gives you less money
to use for other things, such as paying off debt or eating out more.
Your income is a number, and you budget based off of that number.
Unless you come into unexpected cash, once that number is zero, that's it.
And it's the people who have trouble saying "that's it" who fall into a cycle of
debt.
So don't be those people!
And if you are one of those people, stop it!
It's not too late.
You may take a look at how you're allocating your time throughout the day and decide you're
spending your time just as it should be.
Same with your budget.
If you take a good hard look at your budget and your financial goals and you decide you're
allocating your income just the way you should be to reach your goals, then congratulations!
You're no longer making excuses.
You're happening to your money and your time instead of it happening to you.
You're executing a plan, not reacting to whatever.
And that's the way you do it.
No excuses.
Right, Shia Lebouf?
JUST DO IT
I'm so sorry, I couldn't resist.
And this one is done guys, hit the like button if you liked it, or if you're not yet a
