I never thought I would be in this position now.
I know what I want to do and how I want to do it.
I'm Rosie Wilkins and I've completed a Modern Apprenticeship in Hospitality at the
Torridon Hotel in Wester Ross.
Still shocked every time I go out driving in my car, it's a special place that's
something that's going to be in my heart for a long time.
My job role is very varied, I could be in charge of running dinner service, making drinks
at the bar, doing teas and coffees; it's all for that one end goal just to make people
happy.
From the moment I met her she just had a massive big smile on her face and what she gives off
this energy.
I've just been promoted to a supervisor.
I'm in charge of other staff members and training them.
In our sector it's vital because these Apprenticeship schemes offers a career opportunity so someone
could arrive at the bottom and like Rosie you can see that she want to be a general
manager for the future.
It's one of the goals to have a little island somewhere maybe with a nice little hotel on
it.

They didn't finish it there, they kept him as a prison in jail with false lawsuit.

For false excuse of contemption of Islam & the threate of Killing Sheikh Hasina, Rakesh Roy was arrested in Sylhet.

I am doing my Ph.d. at the department of civil engineering.
I studied at architecture and design.
I have worked at two architecture companies
and I did an extra degree on top of my master's degree
at ETH in Zürich.
I do research in tectonic design.
Particularly structural wooden construction
and how assembly and structural construction
can be a part of the early design phase
and contribute to the finished building.
One of the advantages of tectonic design
is an awareness on how you utilize your materials.
You are trying to be more efficient.
By designing an efficient structure
you create a sustainable structure.
During the design phase it is very important
to build physical models.
This will give you an understanding of how the structure works
and an understanding of how the structure can contribute
to how the room is experienced.
One of the points of this research is also
that you discover the potential of the structure
and that you start designing the structure at the same level
as the shape and the space.
To me, the best thing about the department of civil engineering
is the opportunity to become completely submerged in a specific skill set,
but also to influence a new generation of engineers and architects
to design the architecture of the future
in a higher quality than today's buildings.

for something better than what we have now.

My name is Frederika Van Ingen.
I am a journalist
and this job gave me the opportunity to meet people that I call "cultural transmitter"
who have been living with first communities.
I gathered their stories in a book.
I am also the writer of a book named "Sagesse d'ailleurs pour vivre aujourd'hui".
This book gathers eleven stories of these "cultural transmitters".
They are people who, at one point, had an accident in their life that brought them to meet these communities,
to learn from them, to forget what they have learnt before,
to forget their modern point of view and who also convey this experience in their daily lives.
Indeed, through their own path, they show us that these communities have a true state of being,
a position to the world which helps us to find something again that our societies may have lost over time.
The starting point for me was the quest for meaning: who am I?
And what am I doing here on the Earth?
When I met these cultural transmitters, I became aware that these communities answer to this question,
all of them and they all do it the same way. It's a universal answer which is to explore our inner self.
As long as we haven't put in order the mess we have inside us
the mess inside us may overflow with the outside world.
Perhaps, it's what is happening to our societies nowadays.
As long as we haven't met our true self, our emotions, why are we doing this?
What are our intentions? Who are we truly? What did we come to do on the earth?
As long as we haven't done this work, we will live in reaction to what happens to us.
These first communities wherever they are located in the world,
have a characteristic which is a common base in their way of seeing the world.
We probably have forgotten that in our modern society.
This common base is a way to see life and what is alive.
When I am talking about what is alive, I am not only talking about Nature.
Us, when we think about Nature, we think about the environment, we think about something that is outside of us.
For them, life is everywhere.
The first communities tell us that we have completely forgotten one dimension of the human intelligence.
However, they preserved it. They really have everything to teach us again on this topic.
Corine Sombrun talks about "Perceptive intelligence".
This perceptive intelligence is delivered through senses, through listening.
What I have experienced from it, is when we are in an environment without any anthropological disruption,
we can truly connect ourselves to the surroundings.
It could be a river, the wind… Being aware, listening…
And listening to this bound, when we see it, when we feel it, it is also listening to what occurs inside us.
And we are going to discover that inside us there is an universe which is like the external world.
And this Nature, which is all around us, which is outside of us, is, actually, also inside us.
This Nature also helps us to understand who we are.
The cultural transmitters have met these communities everywhere in the world,
in Africa, in Mongolia, in South America, in North America.
In all these cultures, we can find a common idea:
when a human being comes into this life, it is because he already has a place.
If he comes here, it is not by accident. He has something to do here.
These communities guide the human being in his own understanding of who he is.
Then, at one point, he will discover his own gift and will be able to express this gift.
He will blossom and serve the community and of course serve Nature, because for them everything is connected.
So, as soon as we have discovered our place on Earth, we can act to serve Mother Earth.
In a lot of these societies we are finding something that would be really good for us. We have a lot to learn…
Their communities are healing.
The group cares for the individual because it welcomes him in his whole being,
in what he is, with his own feelings.
Those feelings are explored, are guided, are analysed.
Not to control them but to understand their sources,
to try to put them in order inside the individual but also between him and the outside world.
It allows them to create a community in which people are welcomed as they are.
It is real healing because it is a reharmonization.
It helps us to become aware that we are not alone.
We are alone with our thoughts, but we are always connected to each other, to everything.
When we start to accept the idea that the "other" can be a mirror of ourselves, it becomes a freedom.
All of them feel the emergency to convey a message.
The Kogis are saying "Hey, little brothers, it is time to become aware of the importance
of the quality of your relationship with Nature".
They don't understand the subordinate relationship we have created with Earth.
It has become our resource, our object, we are draining everything without thinking about what we are doing.
These communities have a relationship with Nature based on respect.
For them, it is obvious that the way we treat the Earth is the way the Earth will treat us.
So, for them, climate change is a fair result of how we have treated Mother Earth for a long time.
"Being an example" is an idea that I have found in all of the cultural transmitters I have met,
who themselves have been inspired by the first communities they have met.
These communities don't have to think about it. There is no difference between who they are and what they do.
There is no difference between what they say and what they do.
So, certainly, we are firstly our own model. We don't need to look for it outside.
We have to embody what we believe in. It is obvious.
The fact that I have met and was in between all these cultural transmitters,
for me it made sense and it gave me a strong conviction
that the message from these communities is fundamental to convey.
My quest today is to see how we can build some bridges
between our modern societies and all this knowledge.
After publishing the book, I met people who work on this challenge.
Indeed, I would like to continue to discover, to prepare the ground maybe
in order to try to grow something new from it.
