Youtube daily report Nov 18 2017

If you design your thumbnails really well then more people click on your

videos. That's a fact. But how do you do that?

Well, you have to break the pattern. To understand what I mean by "breaking the

pattern" let's have a look at a few thumbnails. Here for woodworking for

example. You see a few videos that rank alongside each other. So those videos are

competing with each other for the click from the user. Which one would you click?

Well frankly they all look quite similar, right? So most likely none of the videos

win the click more often than the other ones. Actually, it's quite

interesting. If we look into another field – Legos for example – here you see

again the thumbnails look really similar. Or book reviews. Here similar again.

Acoustic covers. Very similar. Comic books. Similar as well. That's by the way a good

example why those thumbnails look so similar. Because all those videos are

reviewing a certain comic book it is natural that they use the drawings from

that comic. But that's not always the case.

Makeup tutorials for example. There's actually no reason why all should look

so similar. But showing product and their faces apparently works well for them so

most of them do it this way. Here we have an example where the thumbnails of

course look similar to the minecraft game. And here we have painting tutorials.

All very similar. And of course Bob Ross shouldn't be missing. For videos about

nail polish of course show the nails. And here we have videos about playgrounds

for kids which of course are very colorful because they are built this way.

So as you can see wherever we look videos about similar topics tend to have

very similar thumbnails. And that is the pattern I'm talking about. Which you can

then break in order to win the click. For example, let's look at woodworking

videos again. Here all five videos look very similar but this one breaks the

pattern. It just shows the machine and this intriguing red cross. I bet many

viewers want to know what this red cross is about and click the video. Or let's

look at Legos. All again like the Lego product very similar. But this one is

something different. What, we fry a Lego egg in a pan?! As you

can see it's not only visually different than the others it's also about the

story it will tell. Something intriguing that wins the click. Book reviews. Here

they usually show the pile of books they've read in this month. But here we

have something different. Presented in a different way and also

it's easier to see which books this video is about. Alright

acoustic covers. Usually, we see those singers in their studio or at home. But

how about playing a song outside for once? These thumbnails have a lot going

on like the comic book all those videos are about. But this one just shows an

actress from the respective movie. Here another example about makeup tutorials.

And this one introduces humor. Something unique for a change. Again some

thumbnails that look a lot like the Minecraft game with one that completely

looks different even though it's also about Minecraft. Here we have beautiful

paintings with this one clearly sticking out because of its layout. And finally,

nail polish videos that show off the polishes. Here comes my best example that

breaks the pattern. Here you go. Wow, what a difference, right? It still shows off

the nail polish – so it's intriguing for people to click – but it is visually so

different that it truly breaks the pattern. Alright. If we look at all

thumbnails that I showed you that break the pattern they have one thing in

common. They usually have less going on. Because put yourself in the shoes of the

viewer. They look at your thumbnail just for a split second. And you have the

best chance to win their click by having a thumbnail that is visually very unique

and also decluttered – so that it really just takes a split second to play its

intrigue. You can make your thumbnails much more powerful by breaking the

pattern. Go ahead and study the common thumbnail style of your niche and let me

and you're doing stomach exercises,

you're just working a muscle and building

a muscle that's underneath the fat that you want to burn off.

Instead, you should be engaging in our 12 minute

Because it uses strategic rest periods, intensity levels,

and movement patterns that are specifically

designed for the hormonal condition of people

So when we tried all these different things with my wife

and it didn't work, what I did is I went back

I want to share four more tips outside

of this 12 minute metabolic protocol

that you can use to naturally optimize hormones.

And the first one is simply to eat more protein.

Now most people don't get adequate protein intake

in their diet.

I know this after being in this industry over 20 years

and working with thousands of people online

and hundreds of people one on one, one of the number one

common things that I see is people

do not get enough protein in their diet.

Now protein will increase the metabolic rate naturally.

Remember, when you eat protein, it has a higher thermic effect.

So the body burns more calories digesting protein

than it does carbs or fat.

So simply by eating more protein,

it increases the metabolic rate naturally.

Also, research shows people who eat more protein lose more

weight than those who don't.

And people who eat more protein also

have less night time cravings, one of my biggest downfalls

when I'm trying to lose belly fat.

The second tip is to eat your carbs

after our 12 minute metabolic zone training protocols.

You see, after you engage in these movement

patterns, these rest periods and intensity levels

that I prescribe to you that are specifically designed

for your hormonal condition, the muscles

become like a sponge that's been wrung dry.

They're very depleted of energy called glycogen.

So by timing and eating your favorite carbohydrates

post-workout, you enhance the body's ability

to replenish liver and muscle glycogen and deplete it.

And this is a catalyst helping the body burn more belly fat.

And it also helps the body prevent fat spill

over from the carbohydrates that you eat.

Everybody wants to eat your favorite carbohydrates.

So just eat them after our 12 minute metabolic protocols

and you can still get your cake and eat it too.

The third trick is to try intermittent fasting.

Now if you've never experimented with intermittent fasting,

the science and the research behind this is phenomenal.

Research shows that people who use intermittent fasting

have higher growth hormone levels.

They have higher resting metabolic rate.

They also even have better cellular health.

my recommendation is just to start with 12 hours.

If you eat your last meal at 8:00 PM,

break your fast the next day at 8:00 AM.

Now as you get used to this, I recommend

if you're female you extend that out to 14 hours.

So now if you eat your last meal at 8:00 PM

you wouldn't eat again the next morning until 10:00 AM.

Remember, you're not skipping breakfast.

You're just pushing it back.

Now if you're a man, I recommend you extend this up

to 16 hours, my favorite method.

So if I ate my last meal 8:00 PM,

I'll break my fast usually the next day

between noon and 1:00 PM.

Now remember, it's still a breakfast,

because it's break fast, breakfast.

It's just that we're pushing it back a couple hours.

And the research to help people lose

belly fat is phenomenal using intermittent fasting.

So make sure you give it a shot.

The fourth and final tip is don't eat two hours before bed.

Now if you eat directly before bed

and it's healthy food choices, it's

not necessarily going to make you gain belly fat.

But it could blunt growth hormone secretion

while you sleep.

So the solution to this is to make sure you

wait two hours after a meal.

Remember, if you eat directly before bed, it raises insulin.

Insulin is the body's primary storage hormone.

And when insulin is present, it's

the antagonist to growth hormone.

So it makes it nearly impossible for the body

to access fat as a fuel source and release growth hormone

during the night.

So by eating two hours before bed,

you allow insulin to stabilize.

Then when you go to sleep, growth hormone

will be able to pulse throughout the night.

So there you have it.

So you have to associate yourself

with people that support your goals.

Otherwise they're going to bring you down

and you're never going to keep going

when the going gets tough.

The third and final law I call the law of Henry Ford,

because he was quoted as saying this years ago.

He said, whatever you believe you can do

or you can't, you're right.

So you have to believe in yourself.

This is huge.

If you're constantly telling yourself every single day

this will never work.

I can't do this, it's a self-fulfilling prophecy.

You have to think positive.

You have to believe in yourself.

We believe in you.

Harry Wiltshire's REAP Pro Bike - Duration: 3:20.

We're here in Kona.

Ahead of the IronMan World Championships.

And we've got the Reap time trial bike.

Now they're a new British brand

and this is their first ever bike.

It's being ridden by Harry Wiltshire,

IronMan winner, who led the swim out here last year.

Now, this bike's got quite a few aero features,

including the guard over the front brake.

It's also got a curvy tilt, helps with the

air flow over the front derailleur.

And you can see the back brakes

are just hidden underneath the bottom bracket.

The Reap bikes come with a custom made seat post.

So this one has been made specifically for Harry.

And there is another feature here on this bike,

that it's got some blocks, which means you can move

the seat post forwards and backwards.

It's got the Pro Missile Evo carbon stem with

matching base bars and poles.

And then the Shimano Dura Ace DI2 electronic shifters

on the end of the poles and on the base bars.

And the Shimano brake levers.

Now, Harry's using the Shimano Dura Ace DI2

Electronic front and rear derailer.

And he's using the Rotor Q Rings 54-39 chainrings.

At the moment, he's got an 11-28 cassette,

but he's going to be changing that to 11-25 for race day.

He's using the Infocrank Verve crank powermeter,

with 172.5mm length cranks.

And on the end of those, he's using

the Look Keo blade pedals.

To reduce friction and improve efficiency

on his drive chain, Harry's using

the Tripeak Jetstream oversized jockey wheels.

Harry's using the Zip 404 wheel on the front

and the 808 on the back.

And on race day, he's going to be using

the Continental Grand Prix 4000 25 mil tyres.

At the front, he's got the Garmin Edge 520 computer,

that's held on by the XLAB mount.

So Harry's going to be swimming with the Huub goggles

and then the Huub Albacore swim skin

for the non-wetsuit swim.

He's gonna be using the Scott Cadence Plus Aero road helmet.

And then he'll be running in the

Sketchers GOMED Speed 4 trainers.

So, Harry's kindly just joined us

and we've got a couple of questions we want to ask.

Now, Harry, can you just tell me a little

bit about why you've chosen to use this helmet?

I did a bit aero testing with it

on the velodrome with a guy called Dan Bingham.

He does kind of the aero stuff.

And we found it wasn't a huge loss

over the kind of tailed helmets.

I reckon it's kind of three or four watts.

Yeah?

For me in this position, so that trade off

of four watts to not over heating,

I think I'm in more trouble if I get too hot.

So Harry I see you've just got

the one water bottle on at the moment.

I presume for race day you're going

to be at least doubling that,

where are you planning on taking your fluids?

Yeah, so, I've just been training with this,

but I'm gonna put two bottles behind the seat.

And I've got a hydration system

that goes in between the bars.

Finally, what tyre pressure are you

going to be running on race day?

I think I'm going 100, normally I go

a little bit lower, but the roads are all pretty good here.
