Hello and welcome to my channel, it's your host Nick here once again and today I have
a special TV box for you.
Zidoo has released another new product in their pro line of hi performance boxes, and
this box is the Zidoo H6 Pro, quad core Android 7.0 4K TV box.
This box has a couple of unexpected features, and it's goint to prove a point between performance
and benchmarks.
So stay tuned, we have more in a moment.

So I'm back, and this is the box that the H6 Pro comes in.
Zidoo always takes pride in how they ship all their products with durable well labeled
boxes, providing the right protection while being attractive at the same time.
To the side, here it shows the box comes with 4K and 3D support with H.265 10bit decoder.
It runs on a 64bit version of Android 7.0 operating system, on Zidoo's custom built
ZIUI user interface.
It has 2GB of DDR4 RAM, and 16GB of internal storage.
It has WiFi support, and Ethernet LAN speeds of up to 1000 Mbps.
It comes with a wireless remote control.
and it has a USB 3.0 port.
So that's all for the package, and I'll now unpack the contents of this box.
In the box, you have the main unit itself.
{{Pause=2}}
You get this really nice Zidoo Bluetooth wireless remote control.
It says that it's a Bluetooth wireless remote.
This gives you omni directional control which is excellent and different from other remotes
used in most boxes.
However, I'll test it to see if it has air mouse features like the Zidoo V6.
{{Pause=2}}
You get 1 HDMI cable.
{{Pause=2}}
A 5 volts 2 amps DC power adapter.
{{Pause=2}}
And the last item here is your users setup guide.
Let's take a look at the design and port layout of the box.
The box is made of metal to the sides and to the bottom, and the top is made of plastic
with the Zidoo logo clearly displayed.
To the back, you have 1 HDMI 2.0 port, 1 RJ45 Ethernet LAN port, you have 1 audio video
port, 1 optical audio port, and a DC power input.
To the left.
you have 2 USB 2.0 ports, One of which is an OTG port.
And just to the side here you have a micro SD card slot.
To the right.
You have another USB port, this one is a USB 3.0 port.
To the front.
You have an LED power light and there's no clock display.
And to the bottom, you have some ventilation holes.
So I'll now connect this box to my TV, and when I return I'll continue.
So I'm all connected, and the Zidoo H6 starts up with their Zidoo logo animation that takes
just a few seconds.
Once it's completed, you're taken to their launcher.
So this is the ZIUI launcher.
It's rich in color with large horizontal scrolling panels.
The launcher has a navigation bar for quick and easy navigation and multitasking.
It also has a status bar at the top for notifications.
In the settings area, you'd want to check the display settings to ensure that it suits
your TV, plus the audio settings to select the desired output, and to enable HDMI passthrough.
In the apps section, here we have a list of all the apps that comes installed on the box.
It's mostly system apps, and there are no movie streaming applications like Kodi and
Netflix.
If we go back to the launcher you'll see some movie streaming applications like Amazon instant
video, IMBD, Netflix, and HuLu.
These are not the fully installed applications, and you'll be prompted to download each application.
So I'll just take a second to install some apps of my own, and when I return I'll continue.
So I've installed all my apps and let's first check to see if the box is rooted.
It shows that the box is rooted, running on Android 7.0 Nougat operating system.
This is great news, and I'll also check later in the video to see if my key mapping application
works with this root access.
I'll now have a look at the DRM information.
Well the results are as expected, the box only has support for Google Widevine and CENC
Clear key, which only allows Netflix to show in standard quality.
And now some system and hardware information.
It shows that the manufacturer is Allwinner, and the model here is the H6 Pro as we already
know.
The box has 2GB of RAM, which is DDR4 memory, and 16GB of internal storage; What is shown
here is the remaining RAM and internal storage after the Android installation and apps installed
on the box.
The CPU is a 64bit quad core ARM cortex A53 processor, with a CPU clock range of up to
1.8GHz.
This is something new.
Because most boxes run up to 1.5GHz, this increase in clock speed is due to the Allwinner
CPU used in this box.
However, the box only has support for 32bit ABIs, which limits the box to 32Bit applications.
The display is powered by the ARM Mali T720 dual core GPU, with a refresh rate of 60hz.
It has support for dual band WiFi, and WiFi direct is supported.
The version of Android is 7.0 Nougat.
The box runs cool around 50 to 60° Celsius on normal room temperature, and around 44
to 50° on passive cooling.
The box comes with codecs like H.264 HEVC and VP9 Decoding, codecs needed to play 4K
videos.
That's all for system and hardware information, an I now move on to the benchmarks.
First I have the results of the memory read and write speeds.
The Zidoo H6 Pro has a RAM copy speed of 3369 MB/s, the internal storage has a read speed
of 87 MB/s and a write speed of 21, and the SD card reader has a read speed of 20 MB/s
and a write speed of 4.
These scores are not very high, but they are consistent with other boxes in its class.
I now have the Wifi speed results.
So I have decided to include the results of both the Ethernet LAN speeds and the 5.8GHz
WiFi speeds.
And the results show that on the 5.8GHz band, the speeds fell a bit below my maximum Internet
connection of 30MB.
However, the Ethernet LAN connection hit the maximum speed with every try, which means
that this box runs faster on Ethernet connection
I now show the results of the Antutu benchmark.
And it shows that the Zidoo H6 Pro got a score of 45325.
This score is a little above average, but not as high as those found on Rockchip hexa
core boxes.
Now the results of the GeekBench 4 CPU benchmark.
The H6 Pro has a GeekBench 4 score of 633 single core, and 1 thousand 6 hundred and
72 multi core.
The single core score is noticeably higher than most boxes, whilst the multicore score
remains consistent.
And last I have the results of the Ice storm extreme GPU benchmark.
And it shows that the box got a score of 4278, which is not quite as high, but it's consistent.
That's it for the benchmarks.
I now turn to the Kodi application.
The latest version of Kodi installs from the Google Play store, and if I go to system information,
here it shows the latest version of Kodi as 17.6 Krypton.
Seeing that this was a new install, I took the liberty of installing all the best free
movies sporting and TV shows addons.
With these addons, experience the world of unlimited free movies and TV shows for your
enjoyment.
After all, isn't that its true purpose^
In addition, if you don't like Kodi, you can download and stream free movies and TV shows
via APKs.
Some of these include Terrarium TV, Show Box, Mega Box HD, and Mob Dro.
The box also comes with paid subscription services like Netflix Amazon instant video
and Hulu.
And that's it for Streaming applications, and I'll now test the boxes 4K video playback
capability.
Well I am quite surprised.
This box played all of my 4K video samples without buffering or freezing up, even the
jellyfish video at 400 Mbps.
This speaks volumes for the new hardware used and the optimization of the software.
Well if it performed so well, lets see how it performs in the 4K YouTube video resolution.
I can't believe it!
This box can play YouTube videos in 4K quality on a full rooted version of Android.
This puts the Zidoo H6 Pro above the competition for getting this right.
Kudos goes out to Zidoo for achieving high marks for both 4K video and 4K YouTube resolution.
This leaves one more task, let's see how it performs in the 3D graphics and gamepad control
with my favorite key mapping application.
This will tell how well the box is rooted and optimized.
And I'm testing this thoroughly today to see what else the H6 Pro has under the hood.
One of the games contains fighting and blood, so parental discretion advised.
Well the games ran really well, and the graphics was of a high quality.
I was able to use my key mapping application without any problems.
So in Summary, let me first start by saying that Zidoo has proven a contentious point,
that benchmarks alone does not determine how well a box performs.
With similar benchmarks as many boxes in its class, the Zidoo H6 pro is so well optimized,
it was able to achieve what most High end boxes weren't able to achieve.
Let me start with those achievements.
On 2GB of DDR4 RAM, and a quad core CPU running up to 1.8GHz, and with a dual core GPU running
up to 650 MHz, the Zidoo H6 Pro was able to achieve the following.
It played all of my 4K video samples including the jellyfish video at 400 Mbps effortlessly.
It plays YouTube videos in 4K quality, something 99% of Android TV boxes have not been able
to implement.
The box is well rooted, and it plays Android games in high quality together with my Key
mapping application without any issues whatsoever.
Zidoo's ZIUI interface is remarkable, and it comes with a navigation bar an status bar
for easy navigation and multitasking.
The box does not overheat, the body is made partially of metal, and the box comes with
a USB 3.0 port.
And the last point here is that it comes with a wireless remote control with omni directional
control, something most TV boxes don't provide.
On the flip side, the box should have had 32GB of internal storage, the front of the
box could have done with an LED clock display, and the wireless remote should have had an
air mouse feature.
However, for the air mouse features, Zidoo has the V6 air mouse remote control with that
feature.
So with that said, I'm giving the Zidoo H6 Pro the green light for purchase, along with
a 4.5 star user experience rating.
The Zidoo H6 Pro has now become one of my new favorite TV boxes for 2017; and it will
be featured in my upcoming seasons promotions.
Thanks for watching, remember to like this video and give Zidoo the thumbs up for rasing
the bar to a new level, share it with everyone, and subscribe to this channel for more TV
box stop presentations.
