Youtube daily report Nov 20 2017

Proteins play countless roles throughout the biological world.

Some transport nutrients throughout the body.

Some help the chemical reactions happen at a faster rate.

Others build the structures of the living things.

Despite this wide range of functions, all proteins are made out of the same 21 building

blocks, called amino acids.

Amino acids are made of carbon, oxygen, nitrogen, and hydrogen, and some contain sulfur atoms.

Selenocysteine is the only standard amino acid that contains a selenium atom.

These atoms form an amino group, a carboxyl group, and a side chain attached to a central

carbon atom.

The side chain is the only part that varies from amino acid to amino acid and determines

its properties.

Hydrophobic amino acids have carbon-rich side chains, which don't interact well with water.

Hydrophilic or polar amino acids interact well with water.

Charged amino acids interact with oppositely charged amino acids or other molecules.

Primary Structure The primary structure of a protein is the

linear sequence of amino acids as encoded by DNA.

The amino acids in a protein are joined by peptide bonds, which link the amino group

of one amino acid to the carboxyl group of another.

A water molecule is released each time a bond is formed.

The linked series of carbon, nitrogen, and oxygen atoms make up the protein backbone.

These protein chains often fold into two types of secondary structures: alpha helices, or

beta sheets.

An alpha helix is a right-handed coil stabilized by hydrogen bonds between the amine and carboxyl

groups of nearby amino acids.

Beta-sheets are formed when hydrogen bonds stabilize two or more adjacent strands.

The tertiary structure of a protein is the three-dimensional shape of the protein chain.

This shape is determined by the characteristics of the amino acids making up the chain.

Many proteins form globular shapes with hydrophobic side chains sheltered inside, away from the

surrounding water.

Membrane-bound proteins have hydrophobic residues clustered together on the outside, so that

they can interact with the lipids in the membrane.

Charged amino acids allow proteins to interact with molecules that have complementary charges.

The functions of many proteins rely on their three-dimensional shapes.

For example, hemoglobin forms a pocket to hold heme, a small molecule with an iron atom

in the center that binds oxygen.

Two or more polypeptide chains can come together to form one functional molecule with several

subunits.

The four subunits of hemoglobin cooperate so that the complex can pick up more oxygen

in the lungs and release it in the body.

Different visual representations of proteins can give us visual clues about the protein

structure and function.

This space filling diagram shows all atoms that are making up this protein.

This representation, called ribbon or cartoon diagram shows the organization of the protein

backbone and highlights the alpha helices.

This surface representation shows the areas that are accessible to water molecules.

Most proteins are smaller than the wavelength of light.

For example, the hemoglobin molecule is about 6.5 nanometers in size.

Hemoglobin is found in high concentration in red blood cells.

A typical red blood cell contains about 280 million hemoglobin molecules.

The three-dimensional shapes of proteins determine their function.

The flexible arms of antibodies protect us from disease by recognizing and binding to

pathogens and targeting them for destruction by the immune system.

The hormone insulin is a small, stable protein that can easily maintain its shape while traveling

through the blood to regulate the blood glucose level.

Alpha Amylase is an enzyme that begins digestion of starches in our saliva.

The calcium pump is aided by magnesium and powered by ATP

to move calcium ions back to the sarcoplasmic reticulum after each muscle contraction.

Ferritin is a spherical protein with channels that allow the iron atoms to enter and exit

depending upon organism's needs.

On the inside ferritin forms a hollow space interior with atoms attached to the inner

wall.

Ferritin stores iron in the non-toxic form.

Collagen forms a strong triple helix that is used throughout the body for structural support

Collagen molecules can form elongated fibrils which aggregate to form collagen fibers.

This type of collagen is found in skin and tendons.

Last night at the station, you told the officer your car transformed.

- Enlighten me. - Well, here's what I said, okay?

'Cause this is a total misunderstanding that my car had been stolen...

- Really? - ...from me, from my home,

but it's fine now because it's back! It came back!

- Well, not by itself. - Well, no.

Because cars don't do that because that would be crazy.

That's funny. That is so funny.

So what do you kids know about aliens, huh?

Oh, you mean, like a Martian? Like what, E. T? No.

- It's an urban legend. - Yeah.

You see this?

This is an I-can-do-whatever-I-want and-get-away-with-it badge.

- Right. - I'm gonna lock you up forever.

Oh, God. You know what? Don't listen to him.

He's just pissy 'cause he's got to get back to guarding the mall.

You, in the training bra, do not test me.

Especially with your Daddy's parole coming up.

What? Parole?

- It's nothing. - Oh, Grand Theft Auto, that ain't nothing?

You know those cars my Dad used to teach me to fix?

Well, they... They weren't always his.

You stole cars?

Well, we couldn't always afford a babysitter,

so sometimes he had to take me along.

She's got her own juvie record to prove it!

She's a criminal. Criminals are hot.

That'd be a real shame if he had to rot in jail the rest of his natural life.

It is time to talk!

Big! It's big!

Go, go, go, go!

- I can't see it! I can't see it! - Shift your weight towards the front!

All right! All right!

You A-holes are in trouble now.

Gentlemen, I want to introduce you to my friend, Optimus Prime.

Taking the children was a bad move.

Autobots, relieve them of their weapons.

Freeze!

- Whoa! Whoa! - Give me those!

Whoa!

Whoa!

Hi, there.

You don't seem afraid. Are you not surprised to see us?

Look, there are Seven protocols, okay?

I'm not authorized to communicate with you

except to tell you I can't communicate with you.

- Get out of the car. - All right.

- Me? You want me to get... - Now!

All right, all right. Get out. Hey.

All right, I'm... I'm getting out. I'm getting out. You see?

Very nifty how you put us down without really killing us.

You're good with handcuffs, too, now, huh?

How you doing?

- You weren't supposed to hear all that. - How's it going, huh?

- Yeah. - This is real.

Now, listen. If I choose to engage with him, mum is the word, all right?

Sam, I have a record because I wouldn't turn my Dad in.

When have you had to sacrifice anything in your perfect little life?

Big guys. Big guys with big guns, huh?

What is Sector Seven? Answer me.

I'm the one who asks questions around here. Not you, young man!

- How'd you know about the aliens? - Where did you take my parents?

- I am not at liberty to discuss it. - No?

Hey. You touch me, that's a federal offense.

Do-whatever-you-want and-get-away-with-it badge, right?

Yeah. Brave now all of a sudden, with his big alien friend standing over there.

- Where is Sector Seven? - Wouldn't you like to know?

Hey!

Bumblebee, stop lubricating the man.

Get that thing to stop, huh?

- All right, tough guy, take it off. - What are you talking about?

- Your clothes, all of it, off. - For what?

For threatening my Dad.

Little lady, this is the beginning of the end of your life.

You're a criminal.

Let's face facts. It's in your gene pool.

Those are nice. Now get behind the pole.

All right.

This is such a felony, what you're doing.

- I will hunt you down, okay? - He'll hunt you down.

- Without any remorse! - No remorse.

- Enjoy. - Okay?

- We have got to alert everyone. - They already know. Speaker.

Optimus! Incoming!

Roll out.

Okay, I'm picking up rad readings under that bridge right down there.

Okay, I'm getting really good rad readings. Forty-two and higher.

Up you get.

Okay, we're dropping in.

Really strong readings right down below us. There he is.

Ship one and two, come on in.

That's it, right there. Mark him, Mark him.

Okay, there he is. 11:30. 11:30. Right off the nose.

I got it. 12:00.

Okay, I'm tracking him. I've got him.

Got him going down the street.

Okay. Where'd he go, guys? I lost him. Got no IR signature. Where'd he go?

Okay, I lost him. I lost him.

Okay, we're coming around.

Easy, you two.

No! No! No, Sam! Sam, don't drop me!

Sam, don't! Sam, don't! I'm slipping! I'm slipping!

- Hold on! - No!

Sam!

All right, we've got him pinned. We've got him pinned in the river.

I'm in for the shot.

Stop! Stop!

Wait! No!

- Take the shot, get him. - Take the shot.

No!

No! Stop!

Stop!

Get down on the ground! Get down! Get down!

What? Okay.

Look, he's not fighting back!

Freeze it! Freeze it! Freeze it!

Stop hurting him!

Don't let him move!

I got him here!

No!

Happy to see me again?

Put him in a car with his little criminal friend.

I want that thing frozen and ready for transport!

Hang back. Let me check it out.

Optimus,

are we just gonna stand here and do nothing?

There's no way to free Bumblebee without harming the humans.

- But it's not right. He... - Let them leave.

Top 10 WEIRDEST DINOSAURS That Roamed EARTH - Duration: 7:30.

Hey YouTube, Jim here!

Welcome to Top10Archive!

You know, our world today is filled with some really strange critters, but if you think

that's unique to the quaternary period of the Cenozoic era, you'd be wrong.

Even the age of dinosaurs had its own rogues gallery of freakish and unusual creatures,

the top ten of which we've lined up for you in this Archive of the strangest dinosaurs

ever to have existed.

As we begin, subscribe to the channel and click the bell so you're notified automatically

whenever the Top10Archive team uploads a new video.

10.

Incisivosaurus We know oviraptors as being lean, mean, carnivorous

machines, but this tiny beast, also known as the Incisor Lizard, may change what we

understand about the oviraptorsaur lineage.

The incisivosaurus is best recognized by its strange overbite and a pair of oversized,

rodent-like front teeth that hang over the lower jaw.

While menacing-looking, the Incisivosaurus was actually believed to have been part, if

not entirely, herbivorous.

Though only a skull 10 cm long has been recovered, estimations put the dinosaur's full size

at 3' (1 m).

9.

Pegomastax Ark: Survival Evolved community members may

recognize this unusual beast for its thieving properties, but whether the pegomastax would

make a good modern pickpocket is not really known from its fossil records.

What we do know is that the possibly herbivorous bird-like dinosaur sported a short beak and

one enlarged tooth, possibly used as a means of defense.

When first discovered, the pegomastax made headlines as the "Dracula dinosaur" and

the "Fanged vampire parrot."

8.

Qianzhousaurus It's nickname, Pinocchio rex, may make this

1,800 lb (800 kg), 29' (9 m)-long Cretaceous carnivore sound like child's play, but there's

no reason to believe it wouldn't make a meal out of you.

And when it does, you'd be dangling out of the dinosaur's most unique – and oddest

– feature, an elongated snout.

Unlike its cousin the Tyrannosaurus, the Pinocchio Rex isn't known for its powerful jaws, leaving

paleontologists questioning what its diet could have been.

While a longer snout often points to chowing down on fish, it's assumed Pinocchio, who

shared the land with the T-Rex, snacked on smaller dinosaurs.

7.

Epidexipteryx What do you get when a mix a peacock with

an oviraptor?

You get the 1' (30 cm)-tall, 10" (25 cm)-long Epidexipteryx.

Its name, which means Display Feather, points to the tiny dino-bird's predominantly strange

feature – a series of ornate tail feathers believed to serve the same purpose as those

of a peacock.

The epidexipteryx was believed to have skittered about the ground during the Jurassic Period

and sported long, awkward arms that almost take the focus off its tail feathers.

6.

Stygimoloch Sure, its name is weird, but we're more

distracted by its Satan-like horns protruding from the rear of its head.

A relative of the pacycephalosaurus, we understand the purpose of the domed head as a means of

protection in the big bad world of carnivorous giants, but those horns kind of make it look

like the rebellious teenager that opted for body augmentation to shock his parents.

In all seriousness, the strange horns weren't thought to be an added means of protection

but were used by males to compete for females.

5.

Amargasaurus At first glance, the amargasaurus looks like

your standard sauropod, but that row of spikes on its head says differently.

The 32' (10 m)-long Amarga Lizard actually sports two rows of spikes which run from its

neck down to the end of its tail.

Why the strange sauropod sports any spikes is unknown, though researchers believe that

the larger set on its neck were either supports for a double sail or were covered by horns.

Other theories point to a defense mechanism or even simply as a means of display for species

recognition.

Whatever the reason, they work in making the amargasaurus an oddball of a sauropod.

4.

Concavenator Dinosaur names can be incredibly weird, like

the concavenator.

While it sounds like a scrapped model of terminator, the concavenator, or the hump backed hunter

from Cuenca (ˈkweŋ-kä), was a carnivorous member of the Cretaceous period.

Earning the theropod its name was a strange protrusion directly above its hip caused by

the extension of two presacral vertebrae.

Why it sported this hump is unknown, though researchers speculate it was a means of either

recognizing others within its species or enhancing thermo-regulation.

3.

Mamenchisaurus We can all pretty much agree that giraffes,

while adorable, are pretty strange-looking animals, right?

If you're with us on it, then you'll probably think the same about the mamenchisaurus, a

sauropod from the Jurassic period.

At first glance, it looks like your standard sauropod, then things change when you start

to look at the numbers.

Growing upwards of 114' (35 m)-long, the mamenchisaurus' neck would make up about

half of that as it was usually the length of the body and tail combined.

Why its neck was so long is similar to why many buy those E-Z Grabber aids – so they

can reach everything around them without having to move.

2.

Therizinosaurus This is nothing short of a living terror,

but when you get beyond how horrific and dangerous it looks, you start to see how strange the

therizinosaurus is.

A long neck, wide pot-bellied torso, giant claws that could tear into a bus – this

giant theropod is more of a failed science experiment than creature of nature.

Despite what its massive claws may indicate, the therizinosaurus was herbivorous and is

often compared to the now-extinct ground sloth.

Its unusual body build indicates that it may have traveled incredibly slow and maybe even

been a little on the lazier side.

1.

Linhenykus Initially discovered in 1993, the mononykus

was recognizable by the distinct characteristic of not having actual hands, but a pair of

functional claws joined by non-functioning fingers.

Eighteen years later, a fossil was dug up in deposits located in Inner Mongolia and

what was discovered was even stranger than the mononykus.

Dubbed the linhenykus, this new specimen was similar to its cousin but had one notable

difference – where the mononykus had useless fingers, the linhenykus had nothing accompanying

its claw, making it the first one-fingered dinosaur ever known.

It's been proposed that the linhenykus – and it's clawed relatives – used their unique

appendages to dig in ant and termite nests.

Thanks for watching and we hope you found the info about these strange creatures interesting.

Senate Democrats Drop Travel Ban Bombshell On President Trump, Allow Muslims The Right To… - Duration: 3:11.

Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT) is losing credibility very quickly.

Last week, he insinuated that nine Republicans were on the verge of caving to new gun bans

and were going to attack the 2nd Amendment by joining Democrats in their efforts to limit

gun ownership by law-abiding citizens.

Murphy is part of a new push to shift focus from the countless huge scandals that have

been erupting in the Democrat Party to a new set of "initiatives" that are meant merely

as a distraction.

The initiatives are nothing new, nor do they appear to have any meat on the bones.

The newest of these initiatives is an effort by Murphy and many other Democrats to attempt

to ban the Trump administration's travel ban that has just been cleared to go into

effect.

After a lengthy court battle where activist judges who were hand-picked by the Left to

block the Constitutionally-sound legislation, a higher court disagreed.

Democrats are now focused on stopping the president in his effort to keep this nation

safe!

Newsmax:

Senate Democrats announced Friday legislation that would block President Donald Trump's

refugee ban.

The bill would block the ban on the grounds that terror groups are using the ban as a

tool for recruitment, according to The Hill.

"Trump's refugee ban puts American lives at risk and puts us right in the hands of

our enemies," said Sen. Chris Murphy, D-Conn., the bill's sponsor.

"There's no real danger to America from those who have gone through our vetting system

and entered our country.

The danger is that we help (the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria) recruit lone-wolf terrorists

here at home by making clear that they have no place in our society," Murphy said, according

to The Hill.

Other sponsors of the bill include Democratic Sens. Ben Cardin and Chris Van Hollen of Maryland,

Jeff Merkley-Ore., Al Franken, Minn., Ed Markey-Mass., Mazie Hirono-Hawaii, and Cory Booker-N.J.

A federal appeals court on Monday let the travel ban go partially into effect, ruling

that Trump can prohibit entry for people from six Muslim-majority countries — Chad, Iran,

Libya, Somalia, Syria, and Yemen — if they have no connection to the U.S.

This is a tried-and-true Democrat stalling technique that many prominent Leftists have

used in the past as an argument to allowing unlimited, unvetted foreigners into the country,

despite nominal evidence of hatred and terrorist leanings by some of those admitted.

The argument is ludicrous.

They say that legislation of this type "creates" terrorists, in essence, and is ridiculous

on its face when you consider that if these people are actually so disturbed as to want

to murder innocent people based on their dislike of a nation's law, what sane person would

want them here in the first place?

This is clearly a ploy, a diversion from all of the Democrats' sexual harassment allegations

as of late, wouldn't you think?

#ContemporaryAThon | Vlog & Wrap Up [CC] - Duration: 26:32.

Good morning! Welcome to day one of ContemporaryAThon. I am so excited to

get this read-a-thon started because I have so many contemporary books that I

need to get to. It's Monday so that means I have to go to work. I actually have to

work six out of seven days of this read-a-thon and I feel like that keeps

happening to me. People keep scheduling readathons that I want to participate

in on weeks where I just work the whole time. So we're gonna do our best.

Today I really want to get started on Turtles All the Way Down - John Green's

new book - and hopefully be able to get through a decent chunk of this. I'm very

excited to get this started. I was actually planning to start it this

morning but I actually ended up doing other things like wrapping up BorrowAThon

stuff and, you know, making my morning smoothie, and hanging out with

Brett and things like that. But that's the plan for today. I have to work until

about seven o'clock tonight but I will have a lunch break where I can read

during and then I'll read some more later tonight. This week - actually today -

starts a fitness challenge at work where you can get entered into a raffle for a

couple different things if you hit a certain number of steps on average

between today and December 22nd. So I have my watch on I've had it on all

morning. I'm already at 294 steps just walking around the house. So, crushing it.

Gonna try and just like, not stop moving for the next month and a half.

Brett's gonna hold me accountable. He's not gonna let me stop moving. BRETT: MOVE!

But I will be going to the gym after work between my last meeting of the day which

is just a training for students. You guys need to keep me accountable to just make

sure I'm always moving. BRETT: MOVE!

Hello! It is about 8:30 p.m. now. So it's like

12 hours since I checked in. I'm just getting home for the night. I went and I

worked out after work and I'm just getting home and my headache has been persisting

since yesterday. I felt pretty good during the day at work today but

headache is back. So I'm just gonna relax and read some Turtles All the Way Down. I

am - I got to... where am I going? I got about 50 pages read during my

lunch break today. So I'd like to get up to page about

like 160 or so which will put me just over halfway done and that will put me in the

position to get the book finished tomorrow hopefully. Really enjoying it so

far. Really liking it and - and I would hope it just continues to be good. I have

high hopes for this book.

Poppy is being very demanding tonight.

Does not want me

to stop giving her attention hmm? What's the matter Pop? Huh? Thank you. Thank you. Thank

you. (laughs) Stop!

It's okay Poppy. Hmmm? It's okay. You do look super comfy, though. Sinking right into the

blankets. (laughs) Morning! Happy day two of ContemporaryAThon. I have some tea here.

Brett's been sick for the past few days and I woke up with a scratchy throat, so

trying to fight it off with some tea. I'm up early. It's 7:00 a.m. I just

showered and I'm going to hop into more Turtles All the Way Down. I did manage to

get to page 161 last night. So I'm really happy with my progress thus far and I am

going to try to finish this today so then I can start Little Fires Everywhere.

That'll be my next book. Goal is to get this finished today. I'm gonna read

for about a half hour before I get ready and leave for

work. Yeah, that's the plan. I'll check back in with you guys a little bit later

when I have hopefully this done. It's snowing. Oh my gosh. I'm not ready for

winter. Make it go away! (sobbing) Hello! It's a lot later now and it's

about 9:45 p.m. and I have just finished my first book of ContemporaryAThon. I

finished Turtles All the Way Down by John Green and I really enjoyed it. This

book is very quintessential John Green. He, in my opinion, is a beautiful writer.

He really loves to interweave other works of literature into his story and

he has like, these beautiful quotes that I just like want to highlight and just

like think about and that's just very John Green. That's how his writing has

been consistently throughout the years for me. Also, in a very John Green way,

there's no like, really overpowering plot to this. I feel like John Green is very

good at kind of creating a world that's very believable in the fact that, you

know, in life, usually nothing super spectacular happens, if that makes sense.

But this book is very focused on the anxiety and mental illness of our main

character Aza. I think that's how you say her name.

Aza. And John Green, I know for a fact, does live with anxiety and

obsessive-compulsive disorder, I think. So this is like, a very real representation

of an own voices mental health piece of literature and it's just like, it's very

genuine and the way he writes it is very believable. Like, you know that this

author has experienced the things that Aza has experienced in his

own mental illness. Maybe not exactly, but very similarly, and it's just - the way he

wrote this book and represented her mental illness just like, you could tell.

You really could tell which I really appreciated because I also live with

anxiety. Everybody's mental illness is different but I could - there were some

things that Aza was experiencing in this novel where I was just like, "Yes.

I've experienced that, and I know exactly what John Green is trying to do here and

represent here." It's very hard to capture a mental illness and put it into words

and I think John Green did a really fantastic job. I'm having a hard time

deciding what I want to rate this. I think I want to give it a 4 out of 5

stars. I feel like if I think on it a little bit more I might give it a higher

rating. For right now I think 4 out of 5 stars makes sense to me. I really did

enjoy this book but I would say this is 4 out of 5 stars. I think it's a great

representation of mental illness and just give it a try if you want to check

out John Green's new book. I feel like if you're a John Green fan, you'll enjoy

this book. So like I said, it's about 9:45 right now and Brett and I are

about to watch The Challenge when he gets home which is so funny because

we've been watching The Challenge since mid-July. The same season of The

Challenge since mid-July. I'm fairly certain in my Booktubeathon vlogs, we're

watching The Challenge and it's been the same season. It's been the same season

forever but tonight is finally like the reunion and the finale and everything. So

today will be the last day of watching this season of The Challenge which has

been fantastic so far. So when he gets home we'll watch that. I think I'm going

to put some laundry away while I wait for him but my next read is going to be

Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng. This is my adult contemporary book and

this is going to be one of my buddy reads with Michael. I'm excited to get to

this one. Michael's already like, in the middle of it and saying he really enjoys

it. So I'm excited to hop into this one as well. I'm hoping to get a few pages of

this done tonight and kind of introduce myself to the book.

Good morning! Happy day three of ContemporaryAThon. I have about a

half hour before I have to leave for work. So I'm going to get more of Little Fires

Everywhere read. My goal today is to get halfway done so then hopefully tomorrow

I can finish this. I read the first couple of chapters last night and

already very intrigued. So I'm excited to continue reading and see what I think of

it and hopefully I'll enjoy it. Hello everybody! It is a lot later. It's about

7:30, :40? 7:30 or :40 pm on day three and I haven't read

much else. I read a few pages before work today and that's about it.

My goal is to get about halfway done. Brett just left for the gym so I have

some time before he comes back and we watch the new episode of Are

You the One at ten. So hopefully I can knock out quite a few pages. That's my

plan for right now and hopefully I can make it halfway. We'll see. I am really

intrigued by this book so far. So I'm excited to continue to read it and

hopefully I can get quite a few pages done. The good thing is tomorrow I'm

working from home. So that means I don't have a commute tomorrow which is nice. So

I have two extra hours in my day where I can read. So I think it is pretty

realistic that I can get this done by tomorrow which is what I want to do and

then move on to my next book which I haven't decided what it's going to be

yet. But this is my main focus and hopefully I can get a good chunk done

tonight and then finish it tomorrow. Good morning! I'm surprised I haven't vlogged

from the car yet so far this read-a-thon. But it's Thursday. Day four of the

ContemporaryAThon. Last night I didn't get halfway done Little Fires

Everywhere, I got more of like, a quarter of the way done of Little Fires

Everywhere. Night reading has just really become not my thing.

It's often been not my thing, but lately I've just not been able to pay attention

when I'm like, all comfy. All I want to do is fall asleep. But I got to about

page 98, but today I'm working from home meaning I have quite a bit of extra time

on my hands. I don't have a commute so I have a couple extra hours during my day

that I can read which is nice. So hopefully I will be able to focus on

Little Fires Everywhere and get it finished. That's really what I want to do

today. I do have an exciting announcement. If

you don't follow the hosts of the ContemporaryAThon, Julie and Chelsea, what

are you doing? Seriously they're both great people and

they both have wonderful channels, but Chelsea has been doing daily vlogs. I

mean they both have, but Chelsea has been doing daily vlogs, and every day she

recommends a book - one of her favorite books - at the end of her vlog, and then

she also does a Booktuber recommendation and yesterday I was her Booktuber

recommendation which was so nice of her. So thank you for shouting me out, Chelsea!

You're the best! She is on the other side of the country from me so this all happened

while I was sleeping last night. But she recommended me and put her vlog up

yesterday night while I was asleep and I've been really close to a thousand

subscribers for a little while now and her recommendation put me over the edge

and I now have over a thousand subscribers which is so exciting! There

it is! I think the last time I checked I had like 990 or something

like that? That's so crazy! So thank you everybody who is subscribed to me, first

of all. Thank you all for coming and hanging out with me. But also thank you

to everybody who has come over from Chelsea's channel. Welcome! I hope you

like my videos. (laughs) And yeah, big shout out to Chelsea for shouting me out and kind of

helping me towards that milestone and getting my name out there. So, thank you

so much. If you don't follow me on Twitter you might not know that, it was

last weekend - two weekends ago, I put out a Twitter poll, knowing that I was

getting close to a thousand subscribers saying I want to celebrate in some way. What do

you guys want to see? And I had a couple of options, and option that won was a 24

hour readathon with a vlog. So I'm going to be doing a 24 hour readathon sometime

soon. I just looked at my calendar and I think like, the best time for me to do it

is in January. So it might not be for a little while just because we have the

holidays coming up and I'm gonna be very busy, but January things will simmer down

a little bit. So then I'll do a 24 hour read-a-thon with a vlog for you guys for

my celebration of this awesome new milestone and I can't wait! It's gonna be

good. I'm gonna need a lot of caffeine but

it'll be great. Speaking of caffeine, I'm about to go get

some coffee and then I will come home and I have a little bit of time to read

before I need to start doing work. But I will check back in with you guys in a little

bit after I've done a little bit more reading. So I'm about to go for a run and

I put a hat on because it's like, cold and raining, but like, with my ponytail in

a hat it looks like I have such a short haircut and I'm like really into it.

What do you guys think? It's nice and short. I think it looks cute. I used to

have really short hair but I get lazy and then I don't cut it. But I kind of

like it. What do you think? Hey everybody! Happy day five of ContemporaryAThon. I'm off

to work. This is day five of six of working this week and

today I don't have a lot on my plate. I have a big long meeting this morning, so

it looks a little bit earlier than I usually do. But other than that I don't really have a lot on

my plate. I'll probably go to yoga and lunchtime.

Should be a pretty low key day. So yesterday I really wanted to finish

Little Fires Everywhere and I didn't do that. I got really close, though. I read

about 175 pages yesterday. So I only have about 65 pages left of the book which is

awesome, and so I plan to finish that today at

some point. Probably tonight and then I can finally

start a third book for ContemporaryAThon and probably focus on that over

the weekend. Tomorrow I do have to work but I don't have to work until 6:30 p.m.

I'm working late tomorrow. I work until about 11:30/12:30 tomorrow

night. So I'll be at work late, but I have the whole like, morning and most of

the afternoon to read which is great. But today I'm just

focusing on finishing Little Fires Everywhere which is actually getting so

good. I really, really am enjoying the book. And then starting a third book and

I'll check back in with you guys after work. Hopefully when I have a finished

book for you and then we can talk about what I'm reading next. Hello! I have an update

for you guys. It's Friday night. It's just past 9:30 and I just finished

Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng. This was

my adult contemporary pick and it was really good, you guys. It was really,

really fantastic. I really enjoyed this. I would say this is better than Celeste

Ng's debut novel, Everything I Never Told You. The way that she wove the

characters lives together and kind of like, took you through the

layers behind everybody's back story... it was just so fantastic and I just loved

it so much. This wasn't what I was expecting in terms of plot. I thought it

would be more focused on the mystery of the house burning down, but it's way more

focused on like, just like, the really intriguing backstories and just kind of

like, showing that people are more than what they seem from the outside. This was

just super fantastic. I really, really enjoyed it. This book had a bit of a

slower start to it and I would have liked a little bit more from the ending

but I would say overall is just a super enjoyable read and it's just like a

really wonderful work of literature. So kudos to Celeste Ng.

I really enjoyed this book. I'm gonna give it 4.75 out of

five stars. So not quite a five stars but still really close and really, really

enjoyable and I would definitely recommend checking it out. Especially if

you liked Everything I Never Told You, you'll really enjoy this. So it's, like I

said, it's a little past 9:30 and I'm already feeling super tired.

So I don't know if I'll read any more, but my next book is going to be How to

Build a Girl by Caitlin Moran. This is my "not set in summer" challenge and I'm

really excited to get to this. I've been wanting to read this for a long time now

and so I'm excited to hop into it. I might start it a little bit tonight

and then try to read a lot more of it tomorrow but we'll see. But this will be

my next read and I'm excited to get to it. Good morning! It's day six - Saturday - and

I'm up doing my normal Saturday ritual of going to get coffee and breakfast

sandwiches. I woke up around - I think I woke up at like quarter to seven because

I went to bed at like 10:00 last night as I predicted. And so I've just been

awake. It's about 10 o'clock right now and I got up and I read a bit of How to

Build a Girl. I read about 30 pages and it's - I'm not sure how I feel about it

yet. (laughs) It's pretty over the top which I kind of like, but we're just gonna have

to see how the book progresses to see what I think of it. Like I was saying

yesterday, I do have to work tonight. I don't have to leave until about 5:30, so

I have the good majority of the day to just read and hang out with Brett. So I

think I'll be spending most of the day reading. I do want to edit another video

and upload one to my channel. But the majority of the day will be

spent reading How to Build a Girl and getting closer to finishing that. It'd be

great to finish that book this weekend and then start More Happy Than Not so

then I can at least say I finished three books and started a fourth, but we'll

just have to see how the day goes. Hello! It is quite a bit later. It's 5:04

p.m. and I'm just getting ready to leave for work but I wanted to give you guys a

little bit of an update. I did get to page 100 of How to Build a Girl. Liking

it a lot so far. It's - it's like I said. It's really over the top. So it's just

like, entertainment, but I'm excited to continue reading this. Hopefully I'll

have some downtime at work tonight and I could perhaps keep reading it, get more

pages in, but that's never a promise. So we'll see how that goes, and then I also

edited two videos today, which I'm really happy about. Anyway I'm going to order

myself some dinner so I can pick it up on the way to work and then I'm working

until like 11:30 but maybe I'll check in with you and I get home.

Chances are I'll just fall asleep but we'll see. I'll check in with you guys

sometime soon.

BRETT: How many subscribers did you just lose from this face?

RILEY: Let me know in the comments if you unsubscribed. We're out to breakfast at Annie's

Country Kitchen. Trying someplace new.

Brett's being destructive. (laughs)

RILEY: The reason I'm losing subscribers. BRETT: WHAT?! (laughs)

RILEY: Just kidding. You're probably the reason why I have so many.

BRETT: Everyone's like "who's that weird kid Riley's hanging out with?" RILEY: (laughs) Oh, it's just Brett.

Hello! It is 11:20 a.m. on the last day of the ContemporaryAThon. Brett and I just got

back from breakfast which was delicious and I managed last night to read about

50 more pages of How to Build a Girl and that's where I'm at right now. I'm about

150 pages into this. My goal today is to finish this. I have about 180 ish more

pages to go... math. Yeah, 190. So I have quite a bit of reading to do. So what I'm

gonna do right now is hop in. I might fall asleep

because I didn't get that much sleep last night, but I'm gonna try to read

as much as possible and we also have the Patriots game at 4:25 today that I'll

watch on and off. But other than that, I think I'm just gonna focus on reading and

hopefully get this done. That's the goal to have at least one more book done by

the end of the readathon. RILEY: Check out Brett's - what do you call it?

BRETT: I don't know. Some company sells them. They're dope.

RILEY: (laughs) Your mouth is moving with

the mouth! Say something! BRETT: Uhh.... sup guys! I'm a skeleton!

RILEY: Oh my gosh! It's so funny! BRETT: Rar, rar, rar!

So it's about 6 p.m. now.

Brett just left to go hang out with some friends. I read about 50 more pages of

How to Build a Girl before I stopped reading. So I have a little under 140

pages left of this book and so I need to really buckle down. The Patriots game is

on right now but I have it muted. So I'll just have it on in the background. I just

finished putting away a shit ton of laundry. So I'm feeling good about

being somewhat productive today. So what I'm gonna do is - I have an iced coffee. I

have some Dunks ready to go, and I'm going to read my face off and hopefully

read until I finish this book. Hello! It is 9:20 p.m. on day seven and I just

finished How to Build a Girl by Caitlin Moran. This book is about our main

character Johanna. Her family is a low SES family and she is trying to come up

with ways to help support her family financially and so she finds out that

she really enjoys writing and she starts writing for a music magazine and this is

a coming-of-age story from her age 14 to 17, about writing for this magazine, kind

of discovering herself, reinventing herself, and you know discovering things

like alcohol, drugs, sex, things like that, all while trying to support her family.

This book - I've been saying it's really over the top and I think it is. I think

the humor in this is wonderful. The humor is just like right up my alley. It's like,

super dry, and I just love it, and Johanna and her family are super charming. You

really are rooting for them the whole time and I just loved hearing about her

adventures. However the pacing of this is really

strange and I feel like it kind of messed with the story overall. I would

say it - like, towards the middle it just got really slow

and I really wanted to hear more about Johanna's family and how her new

lifestyle is kind of impacting them. I thought that was the most interesting

part of this story - kind of the balance between her relationship with her family

and her coming-of-age kind of plotline of her discovering herself. Because of

that I am rating this 3.5 out of five

stars. I feel like if the pacing was a little bit better, it would have

definitely been like a four to a 4.5, but I feel like it definitely

kind of took away from the story when the pacing kind of slowed down and we

went several chapters without checking in with her family and like her

relationship with them. So ultimately I'm giving this 3.5 out of five

stars. It's a really enjoyable read and it's really fun and like I said, the

characters are very charming, but the pacing just kind of put a damper on

things for me. This book fulfilled my "not set and summer" challenge. There are some

parts that are set in summer, but it's over the course of three years that this

book takes place. So you see a lot of different seasons. And that's gonna do it

for my ContemporaryAThon experience. I really enjoyed ContemporaryAThon. It was

such a fun read-a-thon to just focus on contemporaries. I would really love to

see another round of this in the future. So shout out to you guys, Chelsea and

Julie. I hope you guys will put together another round in the future and I would

totally participate and thank you guys so much for putting on such a great

read-a-thon. I had a blast. I'm gonna share my final totals with you guys. So I

read 962 pages this week. I managed to finish three books and complete four

challenges. I finished the "not set in summer"

challenge with How to Build a Girl. I completed the "newest to your shelf"

challenge with Turtles All the Way Down and I completed both the "adult

contemporary" and the "Buddy Read" challenge with Little Fires Everywhere.

And that's gonna do it for this vlog. I hope you guys enjoyed. If you did please

leave a big thumbs up. Subscribe if you haven't already. I do try to post a new

video each and every week and I will see you guys again very soon. Bye!

Are Mercury Fillings Safe? - 12 Risks of Mercury Fillings - Duration: 8:25.

Do you have a toxic landfill in your mouth? Do you have heavy metals that are

poisoning your system or creating a battery? Now, I'm not a dentist I'm not an

oral surgeon, I just see people all the time that respond well to getting the

mercury amalgam fillings out and here's why.

Do you have a toxic landfill in your mouth?

Well you might if you have any silver fillings and that's something

that I get asked all the time. Do you think mercury or do you think silver

fillings are good for you? Should I take him out? And the answer is,

No, they're not good for you and yes, you should have them taken out.

I'm not a dentist,

I'm not an oral surgeon, I just have some personal experience and

something that I've seen for tons and tons of patients that come in the office,

have chronic disease problems and I will say this, by and large most of them get

better, some of them substantially get better

but I will also say that some don't. So I don't want to put anybody's head that if

they do this, they'll automatically get better but man, do I study a lot of

people get better and then there's my own case and then what happened to my father.

so one of the reasons that we do vitamin infusions in the office was

because of my dad's story. My dad had an old tooth with some mercury underneath it,

had a crown over on top of it, basically bit down on a walnut, the crown

came, it's disintegrated, he got some of the mercury into his system.

Now we didn't know at the time that that damaging effect that that would have but

it was horrible. He developed a severe case of Crohn's Disease.

His liver enzymes went off the charts,

his eyes swelled shut, he got these huge plaques and lesions on the extensor

surfaces of his body, just horrible. We took him to 13 different medical

specialists and to their credit, the medical specialists said, "We don't know

what's wrong but we know it's really serious." We got our family together twice

thinking he was going to pass away. It was a medical conference in Kansas City

Missouri and a doctor who has workshopping different conditions with,

I asked him about my father's health and he said, "Jason, your dad has mercury

toxicity, he's got gastrointestinal scurvy,

it's probably coming from a bad tooth and when they doctor told me that,

I literally, it was all I could do, to not roll my eyes. I'd been through college,

I'd been through a doctoral program, anyway, and I just thought if this was a

problem, someone would have told me about it but sure enough, what we did is we

took my dad to a biologic dentist, he got enormously better, almost immediately

taking out, we did some IV Vitamin C infusion therapy, some glutathione,

some alpha lipoic acid, some coq10, some cilantro, some milk thistle, all those

things to help detoxify the body. He went from deaths store to back to work

in two weeks, worked another 10 years before he passed away from natural

causes of something else but I learned a tremendous amount about that, my own

situation where I actually had a bad root canal, which I don't think root

canals are good either, that caused infection or some osteonecrosis

of the body. Gave me a horrible skin condition, I got that tooth

extracted, when they pulled the tooth that had the root canal in it, it smelled

so bad, I turned to that the dental assistant, I said I'm really sorry, you

need to go brush your teeth and she chuckled for a minute she said,

"That's not me, that's you, that's all the infection coming out." And I'm not telling

you to gross out, I'm just saying that dental health has an enormous effect on

people health. Matter of fact, with any chronic condition, one of the things

I always ask about, do you have silver fillings? Do you have gold fillings?

So if you have different metals in your mouth, it's my opinion, you can

actually set up a battery because you have one metal over here, one metal over there,

and run a current through there, crosses them right in, it throws all your acupuncture

meridians off and there's silver mercury fillings, I don't think are good but

here's something that I want to talk about this really important. If you are

to get those removed, please get them removed in the right way. Now I'm not a

dental expert so I can't tell you all of the things that go associated with it,

I do know you want a dental dam, I do you know you want a respirator, you want to

clear, it you want some type of fan or evacuation system to pull all the fumes

out because I've had patients go in and have their dentist just pull those out

and they get really really ill. So a couple things we wanted to go over as

far as a mercury and why it's so difficult for you.

So mercury is a very very potent neurotoxin, there's something that comes off teeth

called mercury vapor and there's different YouTube videos that if you

google, if you love do a search engine for that and you'll see this toxic toxic

fumes coming off of teeth and it's very very detrimental and damaging to nervous

tissue. Matter of fact, there's really only two places that the EPA,

our Environmental Protection Agency allows for mercury. One is in some time

especially contain toxic landfill or two, in your mouth. Now I know that sounds

crazy but really, that's what it is. We know that mercury is extremely damaging

to the nerve tissue and if you couple that with a chronic infection or a root

canal, I just think it's a recipe for disaster so when people ask me, should I

get them taken out? The answer is yes. I think you should get them taken out but

get them taken out in the right way. You know, it's interesting that the United

States lags behind everybody else when it comes to amalgam and mercury toxicity,

it's been been banned in most other countries and I think there's political

pressures from different trade organizations to allow the practice to

continue but if you are going in for a filling or a cavity, I recommend that you

do some type of composite or clear filling and I don't know all the

terminology but please stay away from mercury fillings, I think they're

horrible for your health. It's interesting because despite it being

banned in everywhere else, about 70%to 80% of dentists still use mercury.

Still use those amalgam fillings even though we know it's toxic, there's not a

safe place for it and probably as strongly as I feel that you should get

them out, there's dentists out there saying, "You know what, it's totally safe.

I've been doing it for years or decades without any side effects." I can only tell

you what my patients are telling me when they're coming in the office, I've seen

rheumatoid arthritis go away, I've seen MS go away, I've seen different types of

cancer clear up all when people get a dental revision and get the bad toxins

out of their system, they do much better. Now there's a lot of financial factors

associated with a mercury amalgams, I think that that is really what is

driving the continued use of this because we know that this is a very very

toxic metal and really, when you when you determine

the effect that it has on health and the environmental impact that mercury has,

it's probably the most expensive thing that we can do to destroy health and to

contaminate the environment. There are some supportive therapy when you do have

a dental revision or you get your mercury fillings taken out and again

they need to be taken out the right way and the first thing that we need to do

is to make sure that your detox pathways are working correctly. Let's get a

complete metabolic panel, let's check your liver enzymes and your trace

minerals and your kidney function and then we want to preload the

body with some antioxidants, we want to make sure that there's coq10, alpha

lipoic, Vitamin C inside of the system before you go and get these taken out,

cilantro works really well, Spanish black radish and some things that are mild

heavy metal key leaders. There's a really neat product from Natures NX called

Complete Mineral Chilates and there's a some oral EDTA chilates

that are available, I also like Bottled Sunshine which is your vitamin A, D, E and K

which has a mild chilates but fairly high dose levels of liposomal.

Vitamin C will really help to protect your body as much as it can when you get

those mercury fillings taken out.

This is Dr. Jason West and this is my opinion on

amalgam fillings and amalgam fillings removal.

Hey, thanks for watching the

video on mercury fillings. It's a topic near and dear to my heart, I've seen

amazing outcomes when people get the toxins out of their mouth and have a

dental revision. If there was a value, please like us and we'll see you on the

next video.

Oh, I miss you

When I say it, it's even harder, I miss you.

And when I look at your pictures, I miss you

Time spared nothing. Now I hate us.

Seeing you again is impossible. If I did it my heart woul be torn.

I want to float in the air, like a fine dust, like a fine dust

To fly away, hoping to see you,

in the middle of this snow, but it seems that my hopes are too high.

The snowflakes fall, and little by little, they melt.

And I miss you

How long should I wait ?

How many nights do I have to stay awake ?

to see your smile

to hear you laugh

I will cross this winter

until the spring comes, until the flowers come back to life

Please stay. I'll come back, I'll come back.

Have you changed ?

Or did I change ?

I hate to see time go back slowly,

I hate the fact that we have changed like anyone.

Yeah, I hate you, you who left me

but I can't stop thinking of you

I really miss you, I promise, but I'll erase you

I will have less pain if I can forget you.

I try to let you go like smoke

I said that I'll erase you, but if we missing each other, why should we force ourselves ?

The snowflakes fall, and little by little they melt.

And I miss you

How long do I have to wait ?

How many nights do I have to stay awake ?

to see your smile

To hear you laugh

We will find the sun again.

Neither darkness nor the seasons can last forever.

Cherry trees could bloom. Winter could finally leave.

Because I miss you

One last time, wait for me.

just a few nights, fight this cold

and I'll be there

I'll come for you

I will cross this winter

Until the spring comes, until the flowers come back to life.

Please stay, I'll come back.I'll come back.
