Youtube daily report Apr 9 2018

Most importantly when we teach children about nature, we teach them to nurture,

and when we teach children to nurture, we as a society collectively embrace our better nature.

We're feeding minds. We're feeding souls. We're feeding bodies and we're also...

feeding fish! How cool is that?!

That's innovation! This is Dubai.

CRAZY Amazon FBA Product Research Hacks in 2018! - Duration: 24:14.

So for those of you that are new here welcome to the channel you're about to

see a lot more of Kevin David and that lifestyle ninja and for those of

you who have been around since the beginning

welcome back maybe I have been gone for thirty days but you have never seen me

put out content like I'm about to where have you been for the last thirty days

have been a little bit occupied buying this little house right here on the San

Diego coast if you guys want a house tour leave a comment below telling me

that you want to see the NINJA Manor and I could give you guys a little house

tour but let's get to the point today we're gonna go over a brand new 2018

Amazon FBA product research hack and I'm gonna show you guys how to find a thirty

thousand dollar-a-month product in five minutes or less so don't even think

about going anywhere

what is that my beautiful ninjas it feels so good to be back we are going to

dive directly into this this is the product discovery tool it is like one of

the best Amazon product research tools out there kind of viral launch and

jungle scout are the two main players in the space and have the most data and

really give the best results so we're gonna jump right in a lot of you guys

have probably seen this type of view before where we're choosing categories

and you know we're choosing monthly sales and data and revenue like that

we're gonna get into some more advanced stuff and these exact actual filters

that I use to find products faster and do so kind of finding products that not

everyone else is finding it's a common concern that I get from my students and

followers and things like that is you know if I'm using these same filters

than everyone else is and we're all finding the same products and that

actually can be true so I'm gonna show you guys some unique ways to use this

specific tool and guys we will have a link down in the description for this

tool at a huge discount if you guys do want to try it out go ahead and use that

link and you will save a ton of money doing so so these are the categories

that I like to use I'm not gonna go through each one one by one but just

years of experience with FBA have proven that these are the most profitable

categories to look in I like to look for products that are 1297 and higher and I

do that just because you know people generally like to use multiples of five

I like to go kind of outside the box $13 is about as low as you can possibly sell

on Amazon FBA after fees and actually make a profit I like to see monthly

revenue you know 14,000 100 or higher and I liked the review count to be you

know 57 or lower so we're gonna do this and we're gonna view filter results just

to show you guys kind of what is popping up so it's showing us a bunch of

products here right and so everyone's seen this before you're probably saying

Kevin this isn't anything new you're right what we're gonna do here guys is

the advanced filters the advanced filters on product discovery are some of

the most influential and game-changing things that I found with Amazon FBA

product research in quite some time so let's go through the advanced filters

one by one a lot of these you can kind of ignore initial cost investment in

profit average margin percentage these are very much so

estimates and so I don't particularly use them right and so sales

year-over-year is actually pretty cool so what I like to do here is put 30% I

mean you know you can do 31% just so you're not actually you know kind of

doing the same thing as everyone else and we'll do 29% just so we didn't

include a few more that other people aren't looking at and we're gonna view

filter results again and so what this means guys sales year-over-year means

that this particular product one year ago the sales are now 30% higher so if

it was selling a hundred thousand dollars a month a year ago it is now

selling a hundred and thirty thousand dollars a month one year later so this

really tells you a lot about the product that it has you know longevity that it's

actually you know gonna stick around for a while and it's not gonna be some

seasonal product that's kind of kind of you know disappears so we see some you

know whirlpool water filters we see some pet products we see a pasta Fork right

lots of random stuff a pasta this is a great one it's selling you know fifteen

thousand dollars every single month and it's a damn pasta Fork and so that's one

of the ones that I like to use and guys I like to use these one at a time a lot

of people like to say okay I want this one and that filter and this filter and

all of these different things right that's not how you should use these

tools you're gonna find a lot of new things that nobody else is looking at if

you're looking at these products are excuse me these filters one at a time

rather than trying to like create this huge ultimately complicated set of

filters right do the categories do the monthly sales price revenue right these

three are the main ones with the categories once you fill this out how

you like you know it doesn't have to be 1297 you could look at $97 products or

over a hundred you could look at review counts under 25 or under 10 right we use

your own creativity use your own experience change these numbers up do

not just copy it but understand why we're making these choices right $13 is

about as cheap as you can sell on Amazon FBA review count is the most important

thing I never enter a new product niche if it has over a hundred reviews kind of

overall for the competitive landscape of the entire niche and so these are the

kind of the ones that I like to stick with and then I like to get creative

with the advanced filter so look let's take a look at another one sales change

this is the last 90 days if I remember correctly yep so I like to look at

things that have increased by a 51% um margin in the last 90 days so this

means that this is either seasonal and it's coming into season right now or you

know it's kind of gotten some exposure in the mass media or celebrity

endorsement or you know it's become popular just via the internet means via

like a viral YouTube video or whatever the case may be or it's just you know a

product that is starting to get more popular because of you know X Y Z it's

it's not that important to try to figure out why things are getting popular you

know you can do a quick Google Trends to see that things are starting to get Pavo

so this is an interesting one right it's a sliding glass door block or whatever

it is and just so you guys know this warning popular result is actually a

hugely important tool that viral launch has implemented that I haven't seen from

any of their competitors and what this means is it's kind of trying to help

people who are out there saying you know I don't want to look at all the same

products everyone's looking at so a lot of people are doing product research is

everyone's clicking through on this and doing more research on this and actually

clicking on this product to kind of see more about it then viral lunch will

actually tell you that so if a lot of people are all looking at the same

product it'll say warning popular result and it'll kind of be you know a warning

system to you to stay away so this obviously would have been helpful for

like the fidgets spinner for example back in the day when everyone and their

mom was kind of all looking at it and all potentially trying to you know learn

more about it and then figure out how to source it so that's another great one

sales change percentage up 51 percent review changes that goes well is a good

one so this means that you know the increase or decrease in the products

total review quantity over the last 10 days and so you can do things like ten

or hundred or however many that you actually want to see reviews because if

things are if a products getting a lot more reviews over you know the last

three months then that means that it's getting a lot of sales - because reviews

generally the market rate for reviews is between one and four percent four

percent being you know very good so if you've got a hundred sales four people

buy it excuse me four people leave a review that would give you a four

percent review rate and that would be actually a really high as far as the

market standard best sales period is a great one right so you know a lot of the

other experts and gurus out there are telling you you know don't don't sell

things that are seasonal but I know some people who only sell seasonal products

they'll sell you know stockings and they'll sell candy canes

or gingerbread houses during December and they'll literally make like a

hundred thousand dollars in a single month just from doing that and so the

people who understand that you know sometimes going against the grain and

being you know using your own creativity and using your own kind of logic is

actually going to pay a lot of dividends so if we look at best sales period for

April for example we can actually see with our own eyes what the kind of

seasonality is dictating for this particular month and so we see a lot of

you know outdoor stuff here you know we can check out December for example and

view the results and then we can actually see that you know this is like

flu season for example from what we're seeing here but we see you know

legostarwars commander we see jumping floating pad a lot of kind of gifts

obviously because it is the holiday season so going through this one by one

and looking at the best sales period actually is a really cool way to kind of

be able to figure out products that could be potentially seasonal and

obviously there'd be a little bit of thought going into it as far as sourcing

it correctly and making sure that it arrived for that month that it was

seasonal but the people who figure that out are making you know a ton of money I

have one specific friend in mind that I'm thinking about that actually makes

an killing selling only products that are seasonal

I'm sales pattern is one of my favorites and so what sales pattern is is it kind

of takes a variety of trends and kind of back-end data that viral launch has and

it'll show you up-and-coming products and so I this is one of the few that I

actually like to look at in combination with other filters but let's look at it

really quickly by itself so up-and-coming we see you know dinosaur

puzzles it does give us a warning popular results so a lot of people are

looking at that tablet clipboard we see some play structure things stroller

wagons lots of different stuff here to look at but I like to do up-and-coming

and then I also like to see a sales to review ratio of above two and so what a

sales to review ratio is is this means let's see what their actual explanation

is average sales to review ratio for the product on a level so it's not

particularly helpful but this means that if you get a hundred

sailes right and you get 10 reviews then that would be a sales to review ratio of

10 right so if you get 10 sales and 1 review that would be a sales to review

ratio of 10 and so 10 is a ridiculous sales to review ratio that like that's

incredible so I like to look at my sales to review ratio of 3 or higher right but

you could do 2 you could do four you can do 10 if you wanted to see products that

are getting a ton of sales and are getting not many reviews that means that

you know you could potentially enter that market and you could potentially

you know create a product that was getting more reviews just by getting

better you know follow-ups and things like that so we're gonna filter the

results again here and now we see a lot of the same product so these are

products that are getting a ton more sales than they are reviews but that's

just another fun little way to kind of play with this that's one that I want to

talk about before we move on to kind of the newer and a little bit more exciting

portions of this tool is the review rate percentage so this basically means the

average review percentage and the number of reviews received for every 100 orders

and so like I said the markets to enter it is anywhere you know between 1 and 4

percent and so if you want you know like a 4 percent or higher you're gonna see

products that have kind of passionate fans and what I mean by that is you know

if you're if you're getting out of 100 orders for people reviewing or more that

means that people really either like the product or really hate the product

because you know if they hate it then people are gonna review it even a

hundred times more than if they loved it but if you can find things that have

high reviews our high review of ratings like out of five and they have a high

review rate percentage then that means that people are really loving this

product and it means that you could potentially create a product that people

love as well and kind of enter the market that way so those are kind of my

main advanced filters that I like to use you know you can use these in

combination like sales percentage changes with an up-and-coming or you

know you can look for something that has like sales percentage over year over

year so maybe it's 50% higher sales this year and it has a low sales to review

ratio so you can potentially you know make a better email follow-up sequence

to get more reviews and then kind of take over the market so there's a lot of

really fun ways to kind of go about these advanced

filters and if you guys are interested I do have kind of a little cheat sheet

that I put together if you guys are interested leave a comment below that

says Amazon product research just leave the three words Amazon product research

as a comment and I will release that cheat sheet completely for free and

that's exactly how I like to use these advanced filters in combination kind of

a little bit more advanced strategies for those of you out there who are super

serious about your business I'll release that cheat sheet completely for free if

we get you know five hundred comments that say Amazon product research down in

the comments so let's get on to the keyword section keyword is one of the

most beautiful things that I've seen release as far as from a software

perspective with Amazon FBA in quite some time all of the other tools out

there more or less kind of focus on this particular style where you know you're

setting these these filters and you're actually looking at products themselves

keyword is something a little bit different and what we're gonna see here

guys is instead of seeing products after we make our variables and apply our

filters we're actually going to see keywords and we're gonna see potential

niches right we're gonna see the actual competitive landscape words instead of

individual products because one of the biggest problems with product research

kind of nowadays is people will do all of this work and then they'll see one

product and they'll assume that that product is what the entire niche is like

right but there's it's a very possible scenario and it happens all the time

where you'll you know you'll look at one garlic press and it'll have 13 reviews

and it'll have great sales and everything about it will look fantastic

but then when you actually type in garlic press into Amazon into the Amazon

search bar you'll see that the whole first page is full of products that have

you know 10,000 reviews and there's just this one product that has 13 reviews and

all of a sudden you know you're you're in this you're in this niche that has

you know a million reviews and it's basically impossible kind of to overtake

and so what keyword does is it shows you the the actual niche and it shows you

kind of the general area to get involved with as far as the product is concerned

rather than just showing you one particular product where you could lose

sight of that and enter a potential niche that isn't I'm gonna be

advantageous for you so let me apply the categories we're

gonna do monthly revenue of fourteen thousand seven hundred

we're gonna do the average review count of 50 let's do 57 or lowers to change

things up a little bit and we're gonna review view the filter results and just

as kind of a note here they do have the same advanced filters that we went over

in the product category and I do like to use those kind of again one by one and I

do have a couple little combinations that I have that I've proven have been

kind of the best at which we do have in the little cheat sheet that I'm happy to

released for you guys for free if we do get those comments Amazon product or

research if we get 500 of them I'll release you guys completely free because

I love you so when we actually view filter results here what we're gonna see

is keyword search terms and for those of you who are kind of used like the jungle

Scout or kind of what everyone else is doing this is gonna look a little bit

strange right because we're used to seeing products here but think about it

like this wine preservation opener is actually a overarching niche rather than

just showing one wine preservation opener viral launch is doing the work

for you and giving you kind of an idea score here and what this is is basically

showing you you know from a variety of different data points whether or not

this niche and this product category kind of the overarching general category

is one that might be worth kind of pursuing thermal cash register and let's

actually open up Amazon here really quick so thermal cash register I've

never heard of that before in my entire life I have no idea what this is let's

take a look at it really quick and if we actually look at the overall product

here we're gonna see monthly revenue of seventy-five thousand one hundred and

sixty one thousand right crazy numbers here we do see the reviews are very low

and so these products are literally doing seventy five thousand dollars a

month thirty three thousand dollars a month one hundred and sixty one thousand

dollars every single month and it has 70 reviews right so thermal cash register

roll is a product pit I kind of wish I didn't just show on this because I

probably would have sold it myself but you know I love you guys and somebody

out there is gonna capitalize on that and you know make things work so derma

rollers let's take a look at another one so if you look at derma rollers here and

we run the good old chrome Extension will see that this has 30,000

a month twenty two thousand one hundred and thirty one thousand dollars a month

six hundred and sixty thousand dollars a month that's comical hat over half a

million dollars every single month and we do see a lot of reviews on this one

but for a lot of these especially on page one guys we see less than fifty

reviews which is fantastic right we can see the review ratio we can see

everything in here all kind of in one beautiful little box and so that's it

those are two fantastic products that we found literally in within two minutes

just from using the keyword search right and I wasn't gonna show this one because

this is kind of one of my secret weapons for product research but you know my my

mission in life as you guys know if you haven't following me if you're new

welcome to the family but my mission in life is really to you know help free

people and these two ways are kind of two of my little you know secret methods

that I keep in my back pocket to find products for my own Amazon business

excuse me so let's take a look at one more Ned excuse me nebulizer machines

and let's run the numbers on this one just to make sure that this is actually

giving us good data so we see one hundred and ten thousand dollars every

single month fifty-three thousand forty four thousand with you know 100 or so

review so this one has a little bit more reviews but we do see very sustained

high monthly revenue here and the price point on this one is a little bit higher

which gives you you know some more margin to work with so all of the

products that this has showed us so far have been absolutely fantastic and all

we did was use my favorite categories with you know monthly revenue of

fourteen seven or higher with reviews of 57 or lower and so and then again we can

kind of do whatever we want as far as these advanced filters you know one of

my favorite ones is sales change so let's see that but maybe it's gone 30%

higher sales in the last 90 days and we can see thermal cash versus our again

hair regrowth laser blackhead vacuum cleaner and venture step for kids

register paper boys Easter basket right this is probably a little bit seasonal

so we might want to avoid that unless it was you know our our business model

eco-friendly disposable plates let's take a look at this last one I'm just

interested in because I love this tool so much it actually worked so

well let's run this really quick so eco-friendly disposable plates we see

some monthly revenues fifteen thousand thirty thousand we see some lower ones

but 41 thousand right and we see the review quantity is extremely low for

these forty one six six right one review on that so every single one of these

products that we found with the keyword research tool has been absolutely

fantastic and now I'm you know a little bit upset that I am NOT selling all

those products myself so you know use this tool it works incredibly well again

we have a very deeply discounted link for this particular tool in the

description which you can see right here and so that is the keyword tool guys

again play around the advanced filters one at a time or if you want to use my

super secret combination available in the cheat sheet then leave a comment

down below Amazon product research so the last thing I want to show in this

video is the brand tool brand tool looks a little bit different than most of the

other kind of product research tools that most people have probably seen but

it's a very cool idea it's a little bit less mature than I'd like to see it

there's not as many brands but viral launch is very good about adding things

you know faster than most other companies and they have probably the

most data as far as you know Amazon products with as anyone maybe jungle

Scout you know and them are definitely the top two and so how this works guys

is we are going to just choose the same categories that we like and then the two

things that I like to do our success level top 1% and growth rate insane mode

and this basically means a label depicting the rate which the product has

increased over the past six months and this one is sales volume compared to the

rest of the brands in the top-level category so these are kind of the best

the best in their own little subcategories and the last thing that I

like to do is average review count and this one is actually a total review

quantity for the brands products and so this will take a look at all of their

different products and it'll give you an average review Council I like to set

this one again at 51 or lower and we're gonna view the filter results here so

now we're gonna see products that are the best in their own sub categories

whose average review counts for all of their products are 51 or less so let's

take a look at a couple of these and see what we see the party joy sounds fun and

so this is going to give you an actual full analysis here so we see you know

average price change is going up a little bit sales trend over the last 90

days is going up 25% which is great right I'll show you their FBA fbm it'll

give you the total monthly revenue they're making 1.4 million a month which

is obviously fantastic average review quantity you know it's

pretty low and we see that they're doing you know seventy nine thousand dollars

with these plastic dinnerware sets and so it looks like they're literally

selling party plates you know stylish little party plates and

they're making an absolutely unbelievable obscene amount of profit

doing so and so this is a fantastic brand with very low reviews where I'm

again probably sad that I just showed this because I would have created a

brand of party plates and taken over this niche and so the next one we're

gonna look at is fermentis I assume this is probably something to do with alcohol

but yeah so grocery gourmet food we do see a lower sales trend here but we do

see a lot of sales they're doing 1.8 million a month so even if it's going

down a little bit I mean we could probably figure out why dry yeast yeah

so this isn't looks like home brewing type things you know they're doing a

hundred two hundred sixty one thousand four hundred forty five thousand dollars

every single month selling this one little dry yeast which is hilarious and

so we'd have to do a little bit more research as to you know why is declining

maybe we can maybe it's a good thing declining doesn't always mean a bad

thing you guys it means that you know potentially they're having problems with

our company or you know they're not keeping up with the times or they're not

evolving how they need to and that could potentially represent a way that we

could enter the market and you know take that over so let's look at this one last

one sell terms so this is automotive and these are great right these are the best

of the best brands right in these subcategories you can get a huge per

view into all of these different kind of niches and product categories they're

doing 1.3 million a month very low reviews it looks like they're literally

selling wire stud and packs with seventy one thousand dollars a month so these

are they're literally selling little car parts as a car park brand which you know

if you're out there and you're a mechanic and you're talking about you

know Amazon FBA or you like building cars or you could figure it out this is

a great way to find successful brands and seeing how you can use your

own experiences and your own kind of creativity and brain to potentially

enter this market and take things over so this is the brand tool again I just

like to do the top 1% insane mode we can do 51 average or lower and then again

you can play around with these advanced filters they're incredibly powerful you

guys don't get overwhelmed by them because they are advanced again we go

through it in very detail in a very detailed way in the viral launch cheat

sheet that I would be happy to share with you guys again

completely for free if we get 500 comments to say Amazon product research

down below so leave a comment you guys I hope you enjoyed this video I'm back I'm

Your backpack essentials - Zero waste travelling - Duration: 3:22.

We are leaving on a trip soon,

and we thought you guys would like to know what

essential items do we pack in our bags

when we are on the move. Either on a trip,

when camping, or even an all-day outing.

So here is what's in our bags!

There is, obviously the small bulk bag. It's always with us, it's the perfect size for snacks.

Here we've got some almonds

But you can find

just about any kind of snacks in groceries that sell bulk,

you can add which ever amount you want to it and then bring it along with you,

and the answer is yes, you can take this on the plane with you. No problem.

And then

the best part is that you can use it once you've reached your destination

in an all new bulk location you find there

Most of the time all you have to do is look them up

There are now more and more regular grocery stores that offer bulk products.

Next up is my favourite.

The reusable napkin, it's made out of cotton & hemp and it's from Dans le sac, obviously,

as well as the

3 in 1 utensil, made of Canadian Maple.

We created this product because we couldn't find an alternative on the market,

one that was as versatile as this for our outings.

Ever since we've created this product, Its never left my bag. I always have it with me.

This whole kit is always in my bag,

when I travel, but also on a daily basis.

It's convenient, easy to wash, and

a utensile like this can last for up to 20 years.

This napkin is perfect to keep clean while eating,

or simply to wrap your muffin to-go.

Like this. Very simple.

And then we've got our trusty Mason Jar.

These are allowed on planes, no problem.

I often use it for coffees, or smoothies.

or when you are staying at a hotel where there isn't a kitchen,

you can make Chia pudding or oatmeal

or cereal, whichever you prefer

there are many options with the Mason Jar. And of course, it's also easily washed.

Next up. The water bottle. A major plus, truly.

If you don't have a reusable water bottle yet, it's time to get one.

This is the S'well bottle. We love it,

because it keeps the liquids cold for 4 hours, warm for 12.

It's super handy, especially when it's warm outside.

You don't want your water to be warmed with all the plastic particles.

So this S'well bottle, made of stainless steel is really perfect.

Here we have the Stainless Steel container.

Muffins, cookies, you name it.

There are so many options with this, you can also use it

as a doggie bag, for leftovers.

It's the perfect size for next day's lunch.

This particular one does not keep odours. So it's a great product, it's also very light.

and last but not least:

The large reusable bag.

I'll usually pack this one in my suitcase.

But it's super handy to keep in the car or your backpack

then you have it close when you're running errands,

It's a light and easily foldable option when you need your reusable bags.

So here's a glimpse of what we have in our daily backpacks.

When you're on the go

at first, there are a few trial and errors,

you think " ahh I should've brought this or this"

so over time you kind of put together what works best for you, for your survival kit.

So that's why we wanted to share what we found works best,

& what can be used

to best reduce waste when travelling!

Rival & Cadmium - Seasons (Lyrics / Lyric Video) feat. Harley Bird - Duration: 4:09.

Just like another season

Just like another season

Just like another season

Not for long, just a time

Just like another season

You came into my life

Ohhh this season

DonÕt want another day without you by my side

Just like another season

Yeah we will keep on changing

Oh we will keep on changing all over again

Like an ever fading whisper in the breeze

Each time of year carries memories

Ohhh this season

Ohhh this season

till you come my way this season

But IÕll cherish everyday

youÕll reappear for no reason

Maybe this time next year

Just like another season

Not for long, just a time

Just like another season

You came into my life

With each new one starting I recall

Time continues marching It slowly crawls

Like the sun gives into the moon Into the night

The seasons turn and change just like your mind

till you come my way this season

But IÕll cherish everyday

youÕll reappear for no reason

Maybe this time next year

Just like another season

Not for long, just a time

Just like another season

You came into my life

Each painful but delightful to live through

They change but in a cycle that I canÕt lose

Like a wave returns to the sea into the blue

The seasons come and go like thoughts of you

HOW TO DRAW EYES - Do's and Don'ts! (Realistic Drawing Tutorial for Beginners) - Duration: 12:38.

Hey guys welcome back to my channel, thank you so much for watching! If you're new here, welcome! please subscribe if you haven't already.

Today, I'm going to show you the do's and don'ts of drawing an eyeball.

When I was starting out with art, drawing eyes was something

I practiced a lot, and I hope that some of these tips can help you guys out. So let's start with the don'ts.

The first thing that a lot of people do when starting out is they start with this sort of almond shaped outline.

that's not to say that eyeballs aren't almond shaped, but starting out with such a

Defined outline is really going to hinder your ability to properly draw an eyeball.

Another mistake is not leaving the proper space for the tear duct and drawing the tear duct improperly or not even including it at all.

The tear duct is an important part of the eyeball!

Another mistake that's commonly made is drawing the iris of the eye

too small for the space that it's in or

Drawing the actual outline of the eyeball too large.

When you look at somebody's eye, you don't normally see the entire

circular

shape (iris) of the eye.

Drawing it like this tends to make it look a little less realistic. They might look a little scared or shocked.

But you should definitely pay attention to the size while you're drawing it.

Next is simply filling in the pupil with a solid circle.

I'm going to expand on this a little bit when I do the more realistic looking eyeball.

But for now I'm showing you another don't and that is just drawing lines inside of the iris to kind of showcase that

texture in the eye.

Another one is drawing the crease as a single line from end to end.

This might work if you're doing a cartoon, but for a more realistic eye this just isn't how it works.

Finally, moving on to eyelashes.

The placement of the eyelashes is really important.

They don't come out of the top of the eye like I'm showing here

And they don't happen all the way around the eye in the same direction.

Natural-looking eyelashes kind of sporadically

flip outwards... you won't see some of them, other ones are at different angles coming towards you. So we're going to put those into practice

in the next example.

Moving on to the do's.

I'm gonna start out with a light sketch of the shape of the eye.

The initial sketch should just be an indication of

the placement of the eye and where you want things to go and the overall shape

But it's definitely not gonna be defined like the one in the don't.

I'm also gonna make sure that I leave that little

protruding area for the tear duct. It sort of comes down and then around

and

makes a little nub shape at the end of the eye, that's kind of the best I can explain it!

There's actually two parts to a tear duct.

There's the little darker sort of round shape that's in the very corner of the eye

And then you have (sort of) this flesh toned piece of skin that comes around the outside of it.

I'm just sketching that in so that you can see what I'm talking about here.

Now for the size of the tear duct that I've drawn here, I kind of realized that the

height of the eye is a little bit too tall. it's sort of getting that unrealistic look to it

so I'm just going to take my pencil and

shorten that. And that's one of the reasons why we start with a very light

sketch to begin with so that we can adjust things and

Sort of alter everything as we go.

When I'm sketching the iris I want to make sure that it is in proportion

with the rest of the eyeball and the tear duct and everything, and you'll see here that I'm not showing the entire circle of

the iris in the entire eyeball like I did in the don't side.

Leaving that top half or the bottom half (depending on the eye that you're drawing)

leaving it cut off is going to make it appear much more realistic.

Now you can go in and darken some of the darker areas.

The line where the lashes come out of is going to be a little bit darker.

Before you go ahead and draw the pupil

try to indicate where the light will be coming from because you will want to include a little shine or a glare

inside the eye... it really makes things pop when you do this.

I'll talk a bit more about this in a second but for now here

I've just drawn a circle where the light will go and I've just drawn the pupil around that circle

so it's not a complete circle. It does have a bit of light shining from the edge.

Next I just lightly fill in the eyeball with a color and

instead of doing those straight lines for the texture, I'm going to do little sporadic sort of light

handed

darks and lights. So by building up dark and light values

around the perimeter of the eye,

you're going to get a much more realistic look.

Keeping things dark at the top of the eye

where the eye and the eyelashes sort of overhang is also going to help with that.

Creating an iris usually takes a lot of layers because there is a lot of different tones and a lot of really tiny

lines and sort of

squiggles and different things inside of there so do the best you can and just kind of mimic that with light and dark values.

The outside of the iris is usually a little bit darker, again depending on the eye color that you are drawing,

So in my sketch, I'm just darkening that a little bit.

Moving on to the white of the eyeball. When you're drawing an eyeball

it's important to make sure that the white of the eyeball is not

completely white. That can make it a little less realistic because in an actual human being

there are going to be some shadows and it's not going to be this perfectly flat white canvas.

Darkening some of the areas in the white part around the edges and the corners is definitely going to help.

I'm just going to erase that first line that I made so that I can move on to the rest of the eyeball.

Now when creating the crease of the eye

pay attention to a reference photo or your friend or whatever you're looking at to create your eyeball, and you'll notice that it doesn't

go from one end all the way to the other end and there might be some different creases in there, a

different amount of space between the actual eye and the crease line, so that's just something to pay attention to.

Moving on to the eyelashes, you'll want to start off light to get the positioning

correct if you have trouble with this.

You want to make sure that when you do eyelashes you're kind of creating them on this curved

path

They sort of flick out and up instead of just straight up out of the top of the eye.

You (also) are usually going to see a little bit more

towards the corner of the eye, and as you get towards the front of the eye above the iris,

depending on the position of your subject, those eyelashes are going to appear as though

they're coming towards you, so you might not even see some of those eyelashes.

Making them a little bit more sporadic and a little bit different in length and direction is really going to help.

And then again darkening that line where they come out of is going to help as well.

I'm going to start creating the indication of a water line because yes,

Human beings have water lines! You should not forget this when you're drawing an eye.

Instead of using defined lines for this part try using shading to get that water line in there.

Once you've got the basics of your eye done

you can go right into your shading, which is really gonna make things pop. For the tear duct,

I've just darkened it a little bit and left a little bit of a white area for a little shine

And then I'm gonna darken that other

secondary part of the tear duct that I talked about previously. I don't know what it's called!

And then I'll just lightly define that bottom lid waterline area and I'll work on shading that in.

The bottom eyelashes are sort of like the top ones in that they kind of come out and down

and they are a little bit shorter and

They do tend to change direction a little bit.

Shading the

eyelid and the crease above the eye is gonna help

it have a little bit more depth. The area above that crease line that we made is

usually going to be darker to indicate that it is sunken in.

And also the bottom area under the lower lashes is usually going to be a bit darker as well

so I'm just adding a little bit of shading there and darkening some of those eyelashes.

I wanted to show you what I meant about the eyelashes coming out and up. So you're gonna kind of make these little swishy

shapes kind of like little Nike symbol shapes.

And I wanted to show you a couple options for the pupil of the eye with the little light shine in there.

Here is one option. You can do a little triangle and

then another one you can do a little square... you can choose the

positioning just make sure when you do both eyes that it's in the same spot

otherwise it can kind of throw your picture off and look a little bit cross-eyed.

So there are three options. You can also just use your reference photo and see where the light is coming from on there.

So I think that's all the tips I have for you today! If you liked this video

and if it helped you please give it a big thumbs up it really helps me out. I would really appreciate it!
