As you know on my channel I already have several recipe of wheat tortillas.
Two of them, those that are filled and that are they call a khychin and another khachapuri, they have you
madly in love.
Well, I decided to show you another variety of tortillas from that area.
They are some tortillas that are called shelpek and They are typical of Kazakhstan.
Shelpek is prepared with wheat flour from Very simple way and they come out delicious.
Notice how beautiful they are!
The shelpek admit all kinds of fillers, both sweet and salty.
I, for example, like honey, with jam ...
And I also make myself a kind of kebab or burritos: I put a little chicken on top,
of vegetables, I roll it up and I eat it.
It's delicious.
I will also tell you that even alone, without the Stuffing, they taste delicious.
In a glass we put the milk of time.
You can use whole, semi-skimmed milk or skimmed, the one you want.
We add 1 teaspoon of sugar.
And 1/2 teaspoon of salt.
We stir until the sugar and salt are dilute.
In a bowl sieve the flour.
It is the all-purpose wheat flour.
We add 1/2 teaspoon of powder to the flour to bake.
We add the milk and make the dough.
The dough comes out quite dense and that's how It has to be left for the shelpek to come out rich.
We knead the dough about 5 minutes.
When you see that the amsa is uniform, the we put in the container, we close it and the
we leave in rest about 30 minutes.
After a while we take out the dough from the bowl and make with her a sausage.
We divide it into 6 - 7 pieces.
We keep them in the container so they do not dry out
We are left with one to stretch it.
Sprinkle the table with a little flour.
First we crush the dough with our hands and then we will stretch it with a roller.
Shelpek has to be 1 millimeter of thickness.
In the same way we stretch the remaining shelpek.
And so I have left the tortillas already stretched.
We put the pan on medium high heat and add Oil.
Let there be a couple of fingers of oil in the pan.
My oil is a bit solidified because I brought it from the garage and it's cold there.
You can use the oil that you like or the that you have at home.
When you see that the oil is fuming, You can start frying the shelpek.
We put them one by one in the pan and fry on both sides rotating with two
Forks.
The shelpek fry very fast.
I do not recommend browning them much because cool down can be hard.
They will not be soft.
