Hi sweeties, welcome back on my channel
or welcome if it's your first time here!
Today I'm gonna talk about armocromia (seasonal color theory)
because you tell me you really like these videos!
The focus will be on Itten circle
primary colors, secondary colors, terziary colors
complementary colors
warm and cool colors!
Johannes Itten was a Swiss painter and designer
i read "The Art of Color" (1965)
reprint: 1983
I want to give you some bibliographic information :D
Images will help you!
Our color wheel starts with the 3 primary colors, placed in an equilateral triangle.
Yellow: above the triangle,
Red: bottom right
Blue: bottom left
The next aspect to the color wheel is creating the secondary colors
These colors are placed in triangles above the corresponding primary color combination
secondary colors are produced from the mixing of one primary color with another:
yellow + red = orange
yellow + blue = green
red + blue = violet
Divided into 12 equal segments, the primary and secondary colors shall be repeated to their corresponding segment within the surrounding ring
So now we must insert primary and secondary color in the circle!
Immages will help you to undestand!
When any one primary color is mixed with another a secondary color effect is produced
Terziary colors are produced from the mixing of one primary color with another:
yellow + orange = yellow/orange
red + orange = red/orange
red + violet = red/purple (purple)
blue + violet = blue/violet (indigo)
blue + green = blue/green (turquoise, acquamarine)
yellow + green = yellow/green (chartreaux or "Greenery" for Pantone :D)
Well, the Itten circle is now complete!
in this circle every color has an own irreversible space
We can now use our color wheel as the basis to understanding color and color combination techniques
However, we can find complementary colors:
and warm and cool colors
We must split the circle in half with a line
On the one hand we find canonic warm colors
orange, yellow and red
On the other side we find canonic cool colors:
blue, violet and green
but this is a canonic distinction: in fact we have a warm green and a cool green, for example!
Complementary colors are opposite on the color wheel.
yellow and violet (/blue)
I'm sure you will be asking: but why do I tell you all these things?
because "armocromia" studies colors (from greek: armos + cromia)
I want to give you the basics to help you
when will focus on season (Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter) in the next video
You can find more color analyst and image consultants
so you can understand what they say to you during the color analysis
Until a while ago, we're used to adopt the 12 seasons system
but lately we're using the 16 seasons system, thanks to Ferial, an australian image consultant
so now it's more accurate
So, what's "armocromia"?
This system focuses on the colors that will look best on you based on your natural coloring and tone
We can fall into one of the 4 macro-seasons:
Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter
Autumn and Spring people are neutral-warm
Summer and Winter people are neutral-cool
Winter and Autumn have dark value
while Summer and Spring have light value
In the next video, I'll explain all :D
Well, I hope you like this video
In the next video we'll focuse on season, starting with the Winter!
