Hi guys!
Recently a friend of mine bought a house, so I decided to put together
a housewarming gift for him
and I selected a few things to put in a basket
here's the basket
some of which are DIYs and others I just bought
so, I thought it'd be nice to put together a video and show you guys what I got
while choosing what to include in the basket I kept in mind four things:
his taste - he really likes the mountains and Colorado
my taste - I like more modern and simple things
the season - so fall/winter theme ish
and DIYs
because I wanted the gift to be a bit more personal
so I decided to include a few things made by me
So, this is what I started with... as you can see there's a lot of things here
but it will all make sense at the end of this video
Okay, so, first of all
I'm gonna put a towel, an old towel overe here because
I'm really clumsy, so
I already know I'm going to ruin this table otherwise
so, we have a basket here
where I'm going to put all of the little gifts that I got
but I want it to be a darker brown, so I'm going to paint it

okay, our basket is done
it needs some finishing touches, but overall I'm happy with how it came out
I like it much better this color compared to how it was before
so, yay, now let's move on to the other things
okay, the first gift I got is a spoon holder
for a kitchen and it's really cute, it looks like an owl
so, in here
the second gift we're gonna make together now
so, I got a mason jar and I'm going to put in the dry ingredients to make my chocolate chip
and I'll include instructions on how to make them
okay, we have our jar here and here's all the ingredients
I really hope they fit, but let's get started
okay, so, the first ingredient is one cup of flour and we've got it in
the second ingredient is 1/4 of a cup of sugar
yay
it worked
the third ingredient is one teaspoon of baking powder
I just put it there on top
and the last ingredient is chocolate chips
perfect
it fits
okay
so now we just have to write
chocolate chip cookies
and add the instructions
so, I just printed out the instructions that say what else he has to add
and it should be pretty straightforward
so we're gonna roll this up a little bit
and then I have this piece of sisal rope
and we got it
and now we're gonna wrap this around
and tie it
ta-da
I think it came out kind of cute
so, now we can put this into the basket and move on
okay, so, for my next gift
I need a plastic box
and a few ingredients
I'm gonna make a potpourri with a few spices that I have at home
so, I'm going to add some cinnamon
some orange peel
cloves
star anise
woah, a lot of star anise
less
and a few drops of orange extract

and I'm also going to use some more rope
to make it stay together
okay
and here's our potpourri finished
these boxes are a bit bigger than I thought
but
oh well, I think it works nice anyways
okay, on to the next one
so
this is a little fake succulent that I made a few months ago
and
I don't know, I think it's cute and it fits, so I'm just gonna add it in here
then I have a frame
two rustic coasters
I was thinking about varnishing them but
they kind of look pretty as they are right now, so
yeah, I think I'll skip that step
then I also have some nuts
which
I don't know, I feel like
I feel like they fit in season, so I'm just gonna add a few
okay, so, we have our nuts here
I'm running out of space
then, he also likes sparrows (meant to say robins!)
so
I found a cute one and I think this is a coat hanger but
it could also be used as a key holder
so, yeah, I'm just gonna add this as well
then I have a little candle - I'm not crazy about the color
I mean of course I love this color
just look at my couch and my old towel
but I don't think it fits very well with the rest of the basket
but the smell is pineberry woods and I think he's really gonna like that
so, yeah
let's put this in
for the next thing, I got a chocolate bar
it's toffee and almonds in milk chocolate
and this company is in Boulder, so
I think he's gonna like some Colorado chocolate
and then the last two things are just two little decorations
I have a "home"

and a little deer
so, I just have to paint these and add them to the basket
as, like, little decorations
so, yeah, I'll do that and then I'll show you
my two last little decorations...
