Movies Canceled Because Of A Really Dumb Decision - Duration: 4:16.

It takes a lot of hard work and good luck to get a movie made, but all of that can be

ruined in an instant with just one bad decision.

Sometimes it doesn't matter how good the story is or how famous the stars are, because a

single moment of stupidity can wash it all away.

Here's a look at some promising movies that were cancelled because of a really dumb decision.

At the Mountains of Madness

The masterwork of horror and science-fiction author H.P.

Lovecraft, At the Mountains of Madness has long been a passion project for horror auteur

Guillermo del Toro.

And del Toro seems like the perfect fit for the tale of a group of scientists who discover

ancient, terrifyingly powerful entities in Antarctica.

Unfortunately, despite James Cameron producing and interest from Tom Cruise, del Toro couldn't

get funding from Universal because he told them it would be R-rated, meaning the teens

who usually flock to horror movies wouldn't be able to see it.

The project was cancelled, and del Toro later said he "should have lied" to executives and

told them that At the Mountains of Madness would be PG-13.

Halo

There were a lot of dumb decisions that led to the demise of the proposed Halo movie,

mostly because Microsoft apparently had no idea how Hollywood works.

They demanded a huge cut of profits and forced studios to jump through hoops to even have

a chance to read the script.

Plus, they wouldn't let Sony bid on the film at all — because Sony's PlayStation is one

of the Microsoft Xbox's chief video game console competitors.

Despite all that nonsense, Fox and Universal were both still interested and teamed up.

But then they made the final dumb decision in this whole dumb process when Universal

hired up and comer Neill Blomkamp to direct.

Blomkamp was a fan of the game with a distinct artistic vision.

The problem is, only Universal wanted him.

Both Fox and Microsoft reportedly hated what he was doing, wanting instead to make what

the director called a "generic, boring film — something like G.I.

Joe or some crap like that."

Ultimately, the only thing that came of it was some test footage that teases the great

Halo movie that could have been.

And Blomkamp?

He went on to make District 9 instead.

Great job, Microsoft!

Uncle Tom's Fairy Tales

In 1968, Richard Pryor wrote and starred in an extremely dark, socially conscious movie

with the intentionally controversial title Uncle Tom's Fairy Tales.

Pryor supposedly became so obsessed with making the film, his wife reportedly "destroyed the

negative of the then still unfinished movie in a fit a rage."

Nearly four decades later, another print of the film emerged thanks to director Penelope

Spheeris, but so far it hasn't been released either for legal reasons.

Pyongyang

Based on Guy Delisle's intense graphic novel about the struggles of living under the totalitarian

regime in North Korea, Pyongyang was supposed to start shooting in early 2015 with Steve

Carell in the lead role and Gore Verbinksi as director.

Then Sony decided to release The Interview in 2014.

That reportedly led to the infamous hack of the Sony servers in retaliation, not to mention

bomb threats against theaters that screened The Interview.

New Regency decided Pyongyang wasn't worth the hassle and canceled the film entirely.

The Beatles' version of The Lord of the Rings

J.R.R.

Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings books rank among the most beloved novels of all time.

First published as three separate volumes in 1954, it took until 2001 for Peter Jackson's

epic, live-action adaptation to hit movie theaters.

But there was an earlier version proposed in the 1960s — and it would have starred

The Beatles.

Yeah.

Those Beatles.

Besides doing a brand new double-album soundtrack, the Beatles were set to star in the live action

adaptation, with Paul McCartney as Frodo, Ringo Starr as Samwise, George Harrison as

Gandalf, and John Lennon as Gollum.

Unfortunately, Tolkien wasn't a Beatles fan, and he decided to nix the idea.

Otherwise both music and cinematic history would have been completely different… and

much, much weirder.

Hey it's Di & Mo! Our one simple change right now for the month of

November is we are thankful, thankful we have great nutrition every day in our

bodies. Thankful that we don't get sick very very often if at all. Thankful that

we get to share this with all of our family and friends that we love and that

we share the good news of great health around the world. But most of all I am

thankful for pumpkin. You are! Are we making something pumpkin today. Yes, but before we

tell you what we're gonna be doing today please subscribe below to the Di-n-Mo SHOW

show and get your one simple change every month and this is our 11th month.

catch up you can sit down and catch up in the holiday season so what we're

making today is pumpkin pie parfait so we have something already started made

so it's 1/2 a cup of almond milk, it's 2 scoops of our vanilla complete shake mix

and guess what's in there Mo vegetables oh I wouldn't say plants and through and

you know what there's pumpkin puree powder in there Oh double whammy on the

pumpkin and then we're gonna add some pumpkin puree which pumpkin is an

amazing source of vitamin A so that helps I am going to add in some vanilla

and I'm going to add in some pumpkin pie spice all kinds of spices here we have

cinnamon pumpkin spice spice and some pensee spice pumpkin pie seasoning so

it's the same kind of spices that you would use for a normal pumpkin pie the

main difference that what we're doing is we took out the milk the acid and

we took out the sugar more acid. Let's try to get this mixed up a little bit more, see if we

can use a spoon Yeah! Ok, there it goes I got it! We're whisking!

It's all plant-based so we're eating this on

amazing pumpkin pie parfait and its plant-based so let's make one up for our

folks to see so we have the pumpkin pie filling we're going to spoon some of

that in. Super thick! Then what kind of whipped cream did we find Mo? Oh we

have coconut, coconut whipped cream so let's put a little dab of that in there

I'm double-fisting it with a whisk and this guy. Let's put some whipped cream in

there, then we found gluten-free snicker doodles. Yum! We got rid of the gluten, so

it's non-gmo, and gluten-free. Put some of that in there and layer with another big

scoop of pumpkin pie filling. Yum! Some more of our coconut whip cream and then to dress it up

a little bit we're gonna put a little sprinkle on the cinnamon and a

snickerdoodle gluten-free right on top there you go, okay wipe our face

nobody at your Thanksgiving table will know they're eating tons of nutrition

fruits and vegetables in our complete shake mix. Let's do this!

Let's take a taste Mo! Taste this one. Of course you would, because that

one's overflowing. Let's taste it Mmmm! I am thankful! I am thankful! Very

thankful! Yeah, so thanks for tuning in the month of Thanksgiving, the month

X Factors double elimination saw Sean and Conor Price were sent packing, alongside Sam Black.

The shock elimination saw show boss Simon Cowell slamming the decision to make the quarter-finals a double elimination, which saw him lose another one of his acts.

Whose idea was it to do a double elimination? he furiously asked, after the public didnt believe Sean and Conor Prices rendition of Julia Michaels Issues was strong enough to take them through to the next round, However, the three eliminated boys seemed to take being booted from the competition in their stride, graciously thanking their mentors and their fellow X Factor contestants.

"Whose idea was it to do a double elimination?" Simon Cowell Conor told host Dermot OLeary: We had a great time, we never expected to get this far, so best of luck to everyone. Sam, whose version of Little Mixs Oops failed to impress added: Ive had the best time, thanks to Simon and everyone on the X Factor team.

It was an eventful X Factor quarter-finals, which saw the Boys and the Groups categories go head to head for a spot through to the next round of live shows.

With the theme Crazy in Love, the remaining acts tackled a variety of love songs as they tried to impress Simon Cowell and co.

But it wasnt just a spot in the competition up for grabs, as the acts also battled it up to win this weeks Prize Fight.

While it was jokingly revealed to be a tea with Louis Walsh, the winning act would also be treated with a trip to Los Angeles to record a song with Ali Tamposi.

Established songstress Ali, 28, has co-written Kelly Clarksons Stronger and Justin Biebers Let Me Love You. Simon Cowells boyband Rak-Su were crowned the champions of the night, vying for a chance to win the life-changing prize.

Meanwhile, last years X Factor winner Matt Terry returned to the show to perform new single, The Thing About Love.

Tomorrow night will see Nicole Scherzingers Overs category take on Sharon Osbournes Girls team to win their place in the semi-finals.

The X Factor continues tomorrow night at 7:30pm on ITV.

Maxine Waters Will Want to Bury Conyers Ties After Flashback Statement Goes Viral - Duration: 3:32.

California Democrat Rep. Maxine Waters is, more or less, a one trick pony — assuming,

of course, you don't believe confusion or paranoia is a trick.

What she's done since Donald J. Trump was elected is a) get herself booked on some cable

news show and b) screech loudly and incoherently about impeachment or some permutation of it

for the entirety of the interview.

And yet, even though this is just about as predictable as Charlie Sheen abusing Schedule

I substances, she keeps on getting gigs on cable news.

She may be a pony of one trick, but that's certainly some trick.

As I write this, there isn't any evidence that Trump should be removed from office (although

Maxine doesn't really seem to care).

However, there just so happens to be evidence enough to possibly unseat one lawmaker up

on Capitol Hill: Rep. John Conyers.

On Monday night, a BuzzFeed report revealed that Conyers, a Michigan Democrat, had settled

an explosive sexual harassment lawsuit that accused him of improperly fondling numerous

women and using taxpayer money to fly in mistresses.

So, did Maxine Waters jump to condemn Conyers on Tuesday?

Of course not!

Let's not be silly; he's a Democrat, after all.

However, if you want to know how Waters feels about Conyers, just look at what she said

about the embattled congressman last month — before a gathering of women, no less.

"You know, there is a member of Congress who has been supportive of women for many,

many, many years," Waters said during the Sojourner Truth Luncheon at the Women's

Convention in Detroit on Oct. 28, according to the Washington Examiner.

"He is quiet.

He is confident.

He is powerful.

But he has impeccable integrity on all of our issues.

Give John Conyers a big round of applause."

To make that even more ironic, she used the speech to take aim at both Trump's treatment

of women and "rape culture" in general.

"We are reclaiming our time," she told the women's group, using what's now become

her trademark phrase.

"We're speaking to women who are single mothers, women who work two and three jobs

making minimum wage or less, women who have been exploited, harassed, or taken advantage

of in their personal and professional lives," she continued.

"I just want to take time to focus on something that I think we need to focus on right now.

It is very fortuitous that we are gathered here this afternoon in Detroit as we continue

to recognize a record number of women who are boldly coming forward to reveal disturbing

and grotesque acts of sexual harassment, assault and rape, often times at the hands of men

who believed they were too rich and too powerful to ever be confronted or held accountable."

It was indeed very fortuitous you chose Detroit, Rep. Waters.

That's because it's a city represented in Congress by a man who's allegedly an

88-year-old lecher who's managed to stay in power for over 50 years, a man who just

two years earlier settled a lawsuit where four signed affidavits from congressional

staffers indicated he had engaged in the very activity you got up on stage to decry.

Perhaps that was some time you ought to have reclaimed, Ms. Waters?
