Who's Your Daddy, Spider-Man? Tony Stark VS Nick Fury (Far From Home) - Duration: 4:44.
A new trailer for "Spider-Man: Far From Home" got dropped this week.
If you have not seen the trailer yet, a link to the video can be found in the card above

One of the big surprises was Nick Fury of S.H.I.E.L.D.
replacing Tony Stark, a.k.a. Iron Man, in the father figure role to a young Peter Parker,
a.k.a. Spider-Man.
Since the storyline for "Spider-Man: Far From Home" takes place just minutes after
the ending of "The Avengers: End Game," that raises an interesting question.
Who is the better spider-daddy, Tony Stark or Nick Fury?

One of the nice things about "Spider-Man: Homecoming" when Sony rebooted the franchise
with Tom Holland in the lead role, the origin story of Peter Parker becoming Spider-Man
and the death of Uncle Ben was not rehashed all over again.
Seriously, how many times does Uncle Ben have to die?
Uncle Ben's tag line, "great power comes great responsibility," was ruthlessly mocked by
Peter B. Parker, an older and more cynical version of Spider-Man's alter ego, as it came
up repeatedly in "Spider-Man: Into The Spiderverse."
In order to tie in Sony's Homecoming into Marvel Studios' Marvel Cinematic Universe,
Tony Stark, a.k.a. Iron Man, played by Robert Downey Jr., was brought in as a father figure
to a young Peter Parker.
Tony Stark as a father figure is somewhat problematic.
If the movies were faithful to the comic books, Tony Stark was more at home inside a bottle
of booze than the Iron Man suit.
And no kid wants a drunken father.
Tony Stark in the movies stayed away from the booze but he had his own daddy issues
with his father being too busy saving the world to pay attention to him when he was
younger.
Something that Peter Parker picked up right away, struggled with in "Spider-Man: Homecoming"
and died for in "The Avengers: Infinity War."
With Sony bringing out "Spider-Man: Far From Home" in July and stepping on the advertising
for "The Avengers: End Game" coming out in April, we know that the timeline has been
reset for Peter Parker to have a different adventure for his summer school trip.
As for Nick Fury, played by Samuel L. Jackson, replacing Tony Stark as the father figure,
it could be that he was in the neighborhood and staying on top of an emerging situation.
Would Nick Fury make a better spider-daddy to a young Peter Parker?
That is hard to say since so much about Nick Fury is unknown.
Being a soldier and a leader of people, Nick Fury knows how to inspire those around him
to rise up and do the impossible under trying circumstances.
Here are two examples from "The Avengers."
Nick Fury practically pulled Steve Rogers, A.K.A. Captain America, played by Chris Evans,
out of the mid-20th century into the early 21st century, gaining the trust of a young
man out of time to lead the Avengers.
While Agent Phil Coulson's death in "The Avengers" unified the Avengers, Nick Fury
bringing him back to life for "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D."
strained their relationship but Agent Coulson, played by Clark Gregg, still stuck by him
after S.H.I.E.L.D. got taken over by Hydra.
"Captain Marvel," coming out in March, features a young Nick Fury and a younger Agent
Coulson, will show us how much of a father figure that Nick Fury can be to Carol Danvers,
a.k.a. Captain Marvel, played by Brie Larson.
Spoiler alert: Nick Fury is a cat person.

Mediterranean shipwrecks leave 170 migrants missing, feared d,ead CNN
"Some 53 people have died on the Alborán Sea, western Mediterranean, according to recent information from NGO sources," the UN High Commissioner for Refugees UNHCR
"One survivor is understood to have been rescued by a passing fishing boat after being stranded for more than 24 hours at sea and is receiving medical treatment in Morocco."
UNHCR added that rescue vessels from Moroccan and Spanish rescue searched for the boat and survivors "for several days to no avail."
Meanwhile, the non governmental organization Sea Watch said in a statement Saturday night that there were only three survivors from a shipwreck in the central Mediterranean.
"They say they left Libya on an inflatable dinghy with 120 people. There are 117 people dying or missing," head of the Sea Watch Mission, Kim Heaton Heather said.
"The three castaways reported to the International Organization for Migration that they had been at sea without assistance for more than three hours before the intervention of the Italian Navy plane."
The UNHCR said it was "deeply saddened" over the reports and added that it has not been able to independently verify the death toll.
"The tragedy of the Mediterranean cannot be allowed to continue," said UNHCRs Filippo Grandi.
"We cannot turn a blind eye to the high numbers of people dying on Europes doorstep. No effort should be spared, or prevented, from saving lives in distress at sea."
Meanwhile, Sea Watch reported that it had rescued 47 people from "a dinghy in distress" off the coast of Zuwarah, Libya on Saturday afternoon.
"They are safe on board Sea Watch 3 where they are receiving medical attention," the NGO said.
Italys hardline Interior Minister Matteo Salvini closed the countrys ports to migrant boats in June and the populist government has passed new anti immigrant laws.
On Sunday, Salvini posted on Facebook: "I have not been, am not and I will never be an accomplice of human traffickers."
He added that mayors and governors "instead of denouncing the alleged violation of the |rights of illegal immigrants ... should take care of the work and welfare of their citizens, given that they are the Italians to pay their salary."
The International Organization for Migration puts the number of migrants and refugees arriving in Europe last year at close to 142,000, most of whom made the perilous crossing of the Mediterranean Sea.
The UN agency reported more than 2,200 migrants as missing or dead in the Mediterranean in 2018.
"UNHCR is concerned that actions by States are increasingly deterring NGOs from conducting search and rescue operations, and is calling for these to be lifted immediately," the refugee agency said in a statement Saturday.
