hi it's blkmrkt, we back today for a new video
i'm going to make a feedback about our trip in the Bakans
i made a serie of 10 episodes about our trip in the balkans
i thought it could be nice to make a feedback about this trip
talking about what was nice or not during this trip
and giving to you some advice in case you want to do the same trip
you know .. make a coffee or an orange Juice, sit back and watch
we directly start from Paris with the bikes
to go to Chatel , next crossing the border of Switzerland, italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosna, Montenegro
taking a ferry in croatia to go back to italy
passing by the Tuscany, and going back to Paris by the south of France
We took 12 days to make all this
we made about 5300 kilometers
we made an complete road trip, talking about type of roads, sleeping places and things like that
we took off roads
we made a bit of "enduro"
and we made wild camping, slept on airbnb, hotels ...
like i said previously on other talk videos, we like to made a lot of wild camping during our trips
but we try to limit it by sleeping 2or 3 successive nights outdoor
to sleep after on a Airbnb or an hotel to relax a bit
i talking this because for example, like you saw during my trip, i had a little crash
where i open my leg during it
the fact we had nights in hotels and airbnb helped me a lot to take care of my leg during the trip
cleaning it and continuing the road trip without trouble
i was a bit scared of it during the trip, having an infection on my leg ...
because we slept a lot of time outside, and we didn't know how clean are the area where we slept
we're going to talk about all the countries we crossed during the road trip
and what i thought about them
and if i can give you some good advice
Let's start with Switzerland
This is the 3 or 4th time i cross this country so i know it
it's a beautiful country, no doubt about it
Landscapes, lakes, mountains are awesome
but you have to pay a lot of attention about the police and what you do on the road (speed ...)
it cost a lot of money when you are in trouble with all this
i recently had problems right there, i passed beetween a car and a line ( i didn't crossed it) but the police gave me fine of 300euros
for a line a didn't cross
on this country, when you get caught by the police, they send you the fine to your home.
and you have no choice to pay it
so if you have trouble in switzerland,
just pay it .. don't try to don't pay it, because it's going to grow and grow ..
if you don't it can bring you so many problems
this is the problem in switzerland, the cost of the everyday life is too expansive
if you take an hotel, if you go on a restaurant right there, you have to take it in your mind: life is expensive in switzerland (too expensive)
you have to think about it on your budget if you cross this country
we're now going to talk about Italy.I got there since a long time now
i really know about this place now, it's like my second home
if you never went there, you must to do it
the north of italy, Alps of italy, tyrol
you can find amazing roads right there
compared to switzerland, Italy isn't expensive, restaurants are excellent
people are very nice
everytime i can go right there i just go because there is a lot of awesome roads to ride with your bike
and landscapes are just crazy ...
Another country i crossed with my friends was Slovenia
it's a little country where not so much people think about go there or riding there
but it's an awesome place too
you can ride the Mangart pass for example, it's a beautiful mountain beetween italy and Slovenia
it's a little country, you can cross it so quickly
like you saw it during our trip in the balkans, we crossed it in 3 or 4 hours to go to croatia
if you don't have too much time to do this country, you can ride the Mangart and going to the Lake of bled.
people right there are so nice, so cool
and the water of the lake is hot (just during summer)
After Slovenia we went to Croatia
it was the first time for me, i really wanted to ride it
we made it very quickly
we cross it by the coast road: road number 8
Guys... just sayin: if you want to ride ONE road in croatia, you must take the road number 8.
It's about 450kilometers of big curves with an awesome ground !
it's a crazy road ...
if you don't watched it, watch my episode about it, you're going to understand what i'm talking about
it's an awesome memory with Antoine,
it's one of the longest road i ad the chance to ride with my bike
the landscape around, the light, the end of the day were other things that made it so magical, but trust me ..ride it if you can !
if you ever did Corsica, it's the same thing, not as dangerous as Corsican roads
people right there are awesome
we had just some trouble in a restaurant, the guy wanted to take more money than we have to pay (because of the convertion of euros but it was okay)
no problem at all, it was just a bad person, they aren't like this in general
After we crossed Bosnia
it's a country which i had absolutely no idea about it
i never thought i was going to ride it one day, but it was the occasion to so we made it
it's the country where i opened my leg, so i could talk to local peoples
the girl who takes care of my leg was ....
it's a developing country, talking about tourism
but the roads for riding bikes aren't crazy.
people on this country are more mistrustful about you, but at the end they are very cool
i'm a bit like us
not an awesome country to ride a motorcycle
but if we talk about offroad i think there is a lot of awesome places on this country for a dirt bike !
we made a bit of it and i really wanted to continue exploring in off road !
But for the experience, i think it's a good place to ride
there is a special atmosphere right there, but a good one
like i said i injured myself right there, but i won't go to the hospital
even i had too because i was my leg a bit open, and we saw a bit of my bone
i should have gone to hospital, if i had i won't have the scar i have today on my leg but ..that's life ..one more .. it's not the first one and not the last
i found a big hotel in the middle of nowhere
where a woman takes care of me
i had a cahnce to talk with local people right there and it was a cool moment
they helped me a lot, they gave me water and food for free .. they were awesome !
you can find a lot of people like it in bosnia
after it we went to Montenegro
same story, it's a plce where you don't think about riding it during your life
but it was a beautiful place too, with awesome roads and good people too
i made some researches about kotor before starting the trip but not so much because i wanted to have the surprise about this place too
i thought it was a country with a cold atmosphere
even i'm not a guy who makes a lot of party or things like that
but at the end we saw that it's an awesome country with cool and young people too who like partying and enjoying life
there is absolutely no difference with our country
an the roads are awesome
with awesome landscapes too
if you want to go right there, just go, it's a good place. You need to go to the lovcen pass, enjoying the view of the Kotor bay
i filmed them with my drone, it was cool but trust me, in reality, seeing these landscape for real is better than in video. this is crazy places
after we went back to Croatia, to take a ferry and come back to Italy (tuscany)
in order to not going back to the north of italia
so we took the tuscan roads
a lot of people told me that i was a bit hard with my words about the tuscany
so i wanted to talk about it a bit
i thought it was better than that
i read a lot of things about tuscany, a lot of people talked to me about it with good words so i was expecting about something ''crazy"
i really wanted to do it, but i didn't liked it so much
i'm not talking about the roads, but more about the landscapes and atmosphere. something was missing
i felt like i was going back to home ( last kilometers)
the fact we took the ferry to go home, it didn't helped us, because we felt that the trip was ending
we all were in a bad mood
the ferry was a stressing step, because we took tickets on a big website without explications and the fact this step was done ..i was like okay the trip is done.
so this plus the fact we felt that the trip was ending .. we were in a bad mood
and the fact i was expecting more about tuscany .. all this fucked me up a bit
if i had to go there on more time, i didn't go, until if i must to do it
i made it one time, it's okay for me.
this is why i told this during the episode where we were in tuscany
it wasn't something negative like "don't go right there !''
i was jsut sharing our mood of the day
but if you want to go there,do it for sure!
you have to ride it one time.I made it, it's okay for me.
after we were in the south of France
Monaco, nice ...
to finally going back to Paris by taking the little roads: from nice to grenoble.
last year i made some trips in france: ardèche, auvergne ...
France wasn't a place that i wanted to ride yet
because i live here all the year, so i wanted to ride it at the end or
during a year where i have not so much money for a big trip
so this time we take the little roads in the south
and i have to admit this was one of the best part of this trip
this trip, not all of the trip i did !
it's a place where we took a hundred of awesome curves without straight lines !
and damn it was awesome ! Smiling under our helmets ..
it's an awesome memory
i must go back there just for a special trip !
sorry there is too much noise ..
this is not something negative when i tell the south of france was one of the best part of the trip but
it was more like i spent a lot of hours to create a roadbook at 5000kilometers of my home and i just need to do 500 kilometers to have awesome roads
but it's nice too, because it shows that we don't need to make a lot of kilometers to enjoy riding good places.
in france too, we have awesome places to ride
and you need to ride them
this trip was very rich in terms of landscapes, colors, type of roads
a lot of things happened: good things bad things, we enjoyed a lot, we felt some fear too
we had accident, arrestations, crash, laught
it was a very big trip
and the fear to not finish it
because i took a bike that i didn't know so much about it
but it was a positive road trip with a lot of surprises
i had an accident and some trouble but at final, all these bad things turned into positives things
it's an awesome memory, talking about a motorcycle fact, but human fact too
i met antoine, i didn't know him before the trip and it's a good friend now
these kind of things are awesome
you start a trip with a lot of questions in your head
and you finish it and you see that at final it's not necessary to think about all these problems
you don't have to be stressed about it because things are going to happen, whether you like it or not
and you can think about everything
everything is going to happen until what you thought
it's always the same conclusion
we had some problem with the timing
but we had to compose with the bad weather the first day, with the cops on the second day ..
it wasn't a problem linked by our skill
it's complicated when you have 200 kilometers to catch each day + the itinerary of the day
at the end you have more than 400 kilometers to do to be on time with what you have plan for the day
so we had to catch all this in one day because we must slept in an hotel
we had to do 900 kilometers in one day
we made it and we jnow that we are able to made it if we need to do so it's good to understand it for other trips
it's a good exercise for next trips we're going to do
they're going to be longer and harder, so it's a good thing for us
when i was telling to you on an another "talk" to not doing a very long and hard trip for your first trip
it's for problems like this, it's not my first trip and i'm still learning about it
more you ride, more you're going to have problems, and you have to learn about these problems and compose with them. because you have no choice in situations like this
learning about yourself, learning about the team you have to do your trips
because if you want to finish your trip you have to deal with all this.
i will dedicate a video about it (what to bring during a road trip)
we all started without fire, because we don't smoke. But in general there is always someone who smoke during the trip, but in this one nobody smoked.
we were like shit in front of the fact we haven't any fire.
we found a solution liek you saw it
there is always a solution
same story for my leg, i always have something to clean myself and take care of myself in case of but this time ..nothing...
always think about taking these kind of things for a trip: fire, first aid kit ...
we had the chance to always find a solution to these problems
but if you are in a zone where there is nobody, the same situation can turned in a shitty situation
it's my first trip with the africa twin
this bike is a legend, she don't need to prove anything
she did the Dakar etc ..
it's an awesome bike
i haven't got any problems with it during the trip.I just had one with the clutch but i could continue and finish all the trip with it so ...
like i said it a bike which a carburator engine, so when you are in altitude you have less speed
for sure with the 675 daytona i could rode harder than with the africa twin
when you have to brake with the africa twin , you have to anticipate a lot before doing it, because it doesn't brake like the daytona
i can't take a curve like if i was with the daytona
i have to anticipate it, because if need to brake harder, i can't
it's not a bike that's going to stop like a daytona
you must anticipate what you're doing
but at final it's a good thing
because you use the same technique with the daytona and you ride more cleaner than before
it's an another way to make a road trip
beeing more quiet on the bike
i'm not telling that i'm attacking less than with the daytona, but beetween the different spot, i chill more with the africa twin
it's an awesome bike for every kind of road trip you make
in the dirt, on the road ..
if you need to ride harder or not
it's an awesome bike
i knew it before taking it on this road trip
but i'm happy to confirm this after the trip
we have another road trips to do with this bike, trips harder than the Balkans
with more off road , river to cross
and now i know i can trust on this awesome bike
i'm done with this feedback of my road trip in the balkans
a lot of people are asking to me about the road book
i'm working on a way to share all my trips with you
it's something which takes a lot of time to build them
i'm going to sell them, but i'm searching the better way to do it
i want to sell these trips but on a complete way where you just have to to nothing but enjoying the road, without trouble
all the things i made it's made by myself. One of my friend helps me sometimes when he has time (for the website etc)
i can't be on all the things at the same time
i try to develop things like this but it takes time
but i want to help you to ride roads like i'm doing, doing the same trips i did
safer than me
we took the risk so we know them, and i want to help you to not take them too
but don't worrie you're going to have troubles too during your trip
like i said
the first rule of a trip it's the things never goes as you planned it
so if you want to watch again the Balkans , don't hesitate.
i made a playlist with all the episodes (at the end of this video)
share all this with your friends, it's free
it could be awesome if another people could see what we're doing here
more we're are on this channel, more we're going to do awesome things together
there is a lot of thing that i'm going to do
so if i can share it with more and more people, it could be awesome
i wanted to say Thank you guys
because the channel is growing up since one year because of you
it's awesome to see that people like what we're doing here, and take part of the adventure
i try to answer to all of you, even if it's not simple sometime
but i read everything
huge thank you for that, it's awesome
all these videos take a lot of time to do it, and i made them with my heart
because i love travelling, riding bikes, and capture awesome images
more i'm going to have good or bad constructive feeds back
it's awesome to see that you like it
we has planned to continue all this but these things take a lot of time, money, and dedication
we're going to go on longer and harder road trips than before
this is not something i can do every weeks
but when i can do it, i make it and i share all this with love to you
travelling, showing awesome places to you
other possibilities
and my vision of riding a bike
don't hesitate to follow me on this youtube channel, and activate the clutch to have all the informations at the right time
you can also follow me on facebook and instagram to have all my news
same things with my website, here is the address.
i'm still working on it and on the articles
there is good pictures about our trips on it too
