Hello evrybody! Hi everyone!
We are on the mainland in Mexico.
We are not in Baja anymore but still on the coast
in a small town called
San Pancho.
It's a bit south of Mazatlan where we arrived with the ferry.
Tonight we will celebrate Loka's birthday. She is 7 months today.
And we have guests.
It's not really a suprise.
We are still with Sam and Juliette.
Let me show them to you guys.
And they just adopted a puppy! What's her name?
A little girl! Mexie!
Tonight we also celebrate Juliette's birthday. She is 25!
Apparently there will be a Piñata.
See you guys there!
We are on the road again.
It's very hot!
We closed the windows for a minute so you can hear me.
We just passed by a small town called Tequila.
As you can imagine it's a place where they produce a lot of tequila.
But it's a special weekend here in Mexico with a public holiday
so it was crowded.
We didn't really stop there.
But just 15km south of Tequila there is a tequila distillery.
We keep on driving to visit it.
We are pretty excited about it and we hope we'll be able to taste good Tequila.
See you there!
Here we are in Casa Herradura.
We are about to start the visit.
Sam actually adviced us this place. Why?
I simply bought a Herradura bottle in the beginning of the trip that we really liked.
And I just learned that it's one of the best tequila in the world.
We cannot wait to visit the distillery.
Should we dare or not?
Dare what?
Should we dare put the next footages on Tequila's song?
Let's do this!
We just finished the visit.
We are very happy we did it because it was so interesting!
Our guide spoke english so we were able to ask a lot of questions.
He showed us all the tequila production process from Casa Herradura.
We even got a tasting at the end as I wished.
It was very good!
One thing that I didn't know was that tequila is made from blue agave.
It's the plant you can see behind me.
And they only use the center of the plant.
They get rid of the hard leaves.
The agave is very sweet once it's cooked.
We tasted cooked agave and it was so good.
So it was very interesting.
Also Sam and I we bought a bottle.
It was so good we could not resist.
It's so different from the tequila we used to drink in Belgium.
The bottle that we bought is not exported in Europe yet.
They add agave nectar in it so it's sweeter.
You can drink it pure with some ice.
And that's for our friends when we'll go back to Belgium.
We'll hit the road again now to the town Guanajuato.
Next step : Guanajuato.
Guys, we changed our plans. We are not in Guanajuato.
We had some issues with the van.
So we had to change our itinerary.
To summarize the situation we broke down on the highway.
It was a bit scary because
the emergency lane was very small
and trucks are driving like crazy here.
To give you an idea
we had to wait two hours on the side of an highway with Loka who was freaking out.
It was 86°F.
But anyway we finally got back to the town we came from.
In the garage we understood that our diesel filter was completely blocked.
There was a lot of mud inside.
Apparently the diesel quality here in Mexico is not good.
So the mechanic cleaned the filter
because it was impossible to find the part.
Only a few cars are driving with diesel.
So once it was cleaned we hit the road again.
But today, two days later the same thing happened again.
We kind of felt it so we stop in a gaz station before breaking down.
We felt that we were loosing a lot of power.
Hopefully a guy helped us and we cleaned the filter again.
It was again very durty. But anyway!
But we have a great news! Sam's mom is coming to visit us in three days.
First of all we are very happy.
And second of all she will bring a diesel filter from Belgium.
We will be able to change it and hope that it will work better.
What I wanted to say is that we won't visit Guanajuato in this Vlog.
We are now in San Miguel de Allende.
It's another town that looks very nice too.
So tomorrow we'll take the time to visit it.
And then we'll head to Mexico city to meet Sam's mom.
See you guys tomorrow!
We started to visit the city.
We took our time this morning with Sam and Juliette
because it's our last day together.
Here we are in a covered market.
We are kind of hiding from the sun because it's alrealy past noon.
It's nice because Juliette is going to ask someone to make a customized leather bag for her.
So she needs some fabric to decorate it.
We'll help her find a nice one.
We'll wait for the sun to be less strong to go back outside.
We are just in North of Mexico City.
Sam's mom is coming tomorrow!
We are so happy and excited to see her.
The drive today was more or less okay.
It was quite long and we had another issue on the road.
This time we have a problem with the coolant.
We'll have to check everything in a garage again.
But we are trying to stay optimistic.
Even if sometimes it's not that easy.
Plus we learned a couple of days ago that the ferry from Panama to Colombia is closed from now.
The company became bankrupt.
We'll have to think about our itinerary.
We have to think about it with a clear head.
We will probably let you know in the next Vlog what are our plans.
But for this Vlog it's over.
I just wanted to show you our camping spot for the night.
It looks like a garden.
Behind it there is a nice church. We might have a look later.
We'll sleep here tonight.
And another thing we just learned thanks to the couple there from Quebec
is that we cannot drive with our van in Mexico city.
So I don't know yet how we will manage to go to the city.
But we will figure something out and let you know.
Anyway! It's over for this Vlog.
We hope you enjoyed it.
We also hope that we'll see you guys in two weeks.
We never know with the wifi here.
We'll do our best!
Ciao!
