As a preliminary study of 3D designs
The stitch can be used on afghans & blankets,
on pillows & baskets,
on sweaters, vests and hats;
as well as on summer blouses with thinner yarns
This is the outcome on FRONT SIDE
& Also CLEAN & DIFFERENT on BACK SIDE
Materials for the BLUE BABY BLANKET:
5 Balls of Baby Yarn (300 m each)
Hook Size 4.00 mm
STUDY of the MOTIFS:
Each repeat of ONE auxiliary design & ONE BONBON
requires TEN chains
THUS: Multiple of 10
PLUS FIVE chains to alternate the motifs
The Blue Blanket has
125 chains = 12 repeats + 5 chains
PLUS 5 + 5 chains at both ends
The TUTORIAL SWATCH:

At both ends: 2 + 2 EDGING chains
THUS: 20 + 5 + ( 2 + 2) = 29 chains
CHAIN as long as you desire for your own project

Make a Double Crochet (DC) into the 4th chain
Make a DC into each chain that follows
UNTIL you have the desired no of DCs
