He continues to lead the Crimson Tide as they welcome the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns (1-2) into Tuscaloosa on Saturday afternoon.
The legend of Tagovailoa continues to grow.
The sophomore has made significant strides as a passer this season, completing 72.5% of his passes for 1,033 yards, 12 touchdowns.
He has yet to throw an interception, and made Louisville (51 points scored), Ole Miss (62) and Texas A&M (45) all look silly during the process.
For years, Nick Saban has built a powerhouse at Alabama through his strength in recruiting, maintaining a balanced team and continuously sensational defenses – which have produced a fair share of NFL draft selections since his tenure began.
There was always the question: What if Nick Saban actually had a talented quarterback? While players such as Greg McElroy and A.J.
McCarron were talented and efficient, they were more stead game manager type of players, as opposed to big-time talents who could heading a future draft class.
Now, we have an answer.
If Tagovailoa continues lighting up defenses, Saban will likely break his tie with Bear Bryant for most national championships all-time – and tie Bryant for most with the Crimson Tide.
Former Alabama assistant coach Billy Napier revealed in his weekly press conference that he and the Ragin' Cajuns have their work cut out for them.
"Well, it's humbling.
You've got a chance to go play the No.
1 team in the country and coach against the best that's ever done it.
So, I think it'll be a great experience for our staff, our players and certainly for me as a first-year head coach.".
In preparation for this challenge, Louisiana lost to SEC opponent Mississippi State 46-10 on September 15.

Don't mind the hair and everything. I'm a hot mess today. Good cleaning
I'm getting ready to bring up all the Christmas decorations, which is a lot ok
I have a huge basement and it's loaded with Christmas stuff. I think there's more Christmas stuff down there than anything
So it's gonna be fun
Getting all the Christmas decorations up here I thought about doing it by myself
I may just do that how Chris bring everything up take the kids to go play outside
And I get all the fragile things out and put together
I'm really nervous about bringing up the Christmas tree we have

She's also like a Tasmanian Devil she tears through the house and it's like a tornado blew up
In my house, like within 10 minutes of her being in a room, so I'm really nervous about the tree coming down
Decorations being thrown all over the place and
Possibly small ones trying to be put in Mouse
ears knows God knows where
Probably down my vents. You never know what CC?
So I'm gonna do something real quick

Definitely have been super busy over this way
Trying to get everything situated between school with the girls they were sick last week
That kept me really really really busy. Um
So and then just getting ready for the holidays, you know, we have a lot going on over here

Sooner than later, I really want him to go up cuz I love them but last year she already started exploring them
I'm really just afraid of a 12-foot tree
coming down on her
I love live trees and I really really really want one badly

Um contemplating a real one or not this year. We may just wait one more year

The last two I've done retail for and I pretty much had to work every Christmas since I could remember

in retail or in the medical field and all three of them are open on the holidays, so

doctor's office our hospitals
Chaotic, right and even having like those jobs even in retail, you know
You're dealing with so many people which means germs and you know, I'm a germaphobe, right?
I've kind of had to be and you know, I'm okay
I can admit it but you know having all the pre and probiotics in our bodies just helps me not get sick and

a hard time getting access to food, and as the population grows, the demand for it is
only going to increase.
Eventually, a day might come where we just don't have enough space, energy, or water
to make food for everyone.
[Stefan] The good news is, scientists are already preparing
for that day.
Here are three innovative technologies already in the works that could transform the future
of food.
[Olivia] First, as popular as meat is, it also takes
a lot of land and energy to raise animals.
And in the future, we might not have enough resources to get everyone that particular
type of protein.
Back in the 1960s, one company developed a meat substitute with this concern in mind.
[fyoo-SAR-ee-UM VEN-uh-NAH-tum] It's called mycoprotein, and instead of
being made from the jackfruit or beans you might find in a typical veggie burger, it's
made from fungus.
Specifically, the most common one is made from a strain of Fusarium venenatum.
To make it, the fungus is fermented in a reactor with carefully controlled acidity, temperature,
and amounts of nutrients.
Then, it's combined with a binding agent and mixed up until it's roughly the texture
of meat.
According to people who've tried it, it apparently tastes pretty good.
Making mycoprotein takes significantly less land and energy than it takes to produce meat,
and the process generates up to 90% less carbon dioxide.
It also has more protein than tofu.
Unfortunately, it's also caused some people to have severe allergic reactions, and one
survey of 1000 people suggested mycoprotein sensitivity could be more common than shellfish
or peanut allergies.
So if this is going to be a long-term solution, we'll either need to find some way to test
for those allergies, or find a different strain of fungi to use.
And since researchers have already tried thousands of them, that could be tricky.
[Stefan] Thankfully, growing fungi doesn't take up
much space, but if we want to eat something besides mycoprotein in the future, we'll
likely need more land.
Right now, more than 40% of Earth's land is used for agriculture, and there's only
so much fertile ground left.
That's where another idea, called aquaponics, comes in.
It's a form of hydroponics, which is growing plants in a water and mineral solution, not
soil.
But instead of getting those nutrients from a commercial fertilizer, aquaponics uses the
waste from fish farms.
To do it, you raise a bunch of fish in a relatively small area, but keep filtering the water to
remove any toxins.
As the fish go about their lives, breathing and pooping, the water becomes full of helpful
minerals and nutrients, like nitrogen.
Then, those pass into a separate chamber and are filtered out by plants.
In some models, the plants are just sort of held over the water so that their roots dangle
into it.
At the end of the process, you have a bunch of happily fed crops and clean water that
can go back into the fish tank.
The main benefit here is that you can set up an aquaponics farm anywhere, since they
work indoors.
But there are some kinks we'll need to work out first.
For example, fish can provide almost all of the nutrients a plant needs, but getting the
right balance of them can be difficult.
Pest control is also much harder, since adding pesticides to the water could kill the fish.
You also need a bunch of fish.
Which could get pricey … especially if you're trying to do this in a desert.
Still, some farmers have already had success with this method on a small scale, so if we
keep working on it, maybe we'll all be eating fish-fed plants someday.
[Olivia] Besides aquaponics, there's another way
we could get around a future farmland shortage: We could build up, instead of out.
Their idea is called vertical farming, and it involves growing plants in stacked containers
— like on shelves or different floors — so you could basically turn a skyscraper into
a farm.
This concept was first proposed around 2009, and it's already been successful in tests.
Plus, it can also be combined with other technologies, like hydroponics.
The biggest benefit to this method is that it uses way less land.
If you built a 30-story farm on one city block, you could grow almost 100 times as much food
as on a traditional farm of the same size.
Since these farms are indoors, you also wouldn't need to worry about the weather or most pests.
And if you used filtered wastewater to irrigate your crops, you'd basically have the perfect
city farm.
Then again, you would also need to construct a giant, custom-made building to make this
work, and that wouldn't be cheap.
And you would need a way to get your plants enough sunlight, too.
One option would be to use artificial lighting, which has worked relatively well on current
hydroponic farms.
You could also rotate plants throughout the day to get them equal time near windows or
skylights.
Possibly the biggest challenge, though, is that vertical farming isn't very eco-friendly
— at least, not yet.
One 2015 analysis of a small farm calculated that vertically growing lettuce produces 2-5
times more carbon dioxide than lettuce grown in open fields.
Most of that probably came from powering the building, since running artificial lights
and irrigating crops uses a lot of electricity.
We could make this technology greener by using cleaner sources of energy, but since that's
not the only hurdle, it will probably be a while before cities are the new farmlands.
[Stefan] So far, none of these technologies are perfect,
and we'll need future innovators and engineers to perfect them.

Wow… what a day today has been in Senate history.
Today Chicks On The Right reported that the Democrats managed to get their darling, Dr.
Christine Blasey Ford, to testify in the Senate as to what she alleges happened between her
and Kavanaugh 36 years ago.
Her testimony was as expected with the typical left-wing contradictions.
Dr. Ford accused Judge Kavanaugh of pinning her to a bed during a house party in Maryland
in the early 1980s.
Then proceeding to attempt to remove her clothes and putting his hand over her mouth when she
tried to scream.
Ford was 15 and Kavanaugh was 17 at the time and she added that Kavanaugh was drunk when
this allegedly took place.
I thought he might inadvertently kill me," Ford said.
"He was trying to attack me and remove my clothing."
Although she does not recall much else that happened that night, the Democrats ran with
it in order to ruin Judge Kavanaugh in an effort to stall the nomination long enough
to try to win in 2020 and appoint another Ginsberg to the court.
But what really raised eyebrows was the response from Judge Kavanaugh himself.
Which was excellent and unwavering.
Judge Brett Kavanaugh: "I was not at the party described by Dr. Ford.
This confirmation process has become a national disgrace."
Here is more via The Christian Science Monitor: "There are literally hundreds of thousands
of people watching your testimony right now," said Sen. Cory Booker (D) of New Jersey.
"You are opening up to open air the hurt and pain that goes on across this country."
"One woman called into C-SPAN to detail her own rape.
"It makes me almost want to cry," says Democratic pollster Celinda Lake of Professor
Blasey Ford.
"Her honesty and her humanity are just unbelievable."
That Blasey Ford could describe sitting in the parking lot of Walmart trying to figure
out how to find a lawyer makes her credible, she added.
But Sen. Lindsey Graham (R) of South Carolina, sharply criticized how Democrats handled the
hearing process, not sharing the allegations with the committee and leaking it at the last
minute.
During the questioning of Kavanaugh, he shouted that "This is the most unethical sham since
I've been in politics," excoriating the other side.
"Boy, you all want power.
God, I hope you never get it."
"Ed Goeas, a Republican pollster who says that Blasey Ford came across as credible,
points out that even before the hearings started, Democrats had decided they were against Kavanaugh.
"Now they are playing this game of, 'you need to be open.'
" He called it "hypocritical" showmanship.
"In emotional testimony, a fiery Judge Kavanaugh "categorically and unequivocally" denied
Blasey Ford's accusation, saying "I am innocent of this charge."
"This confirmation process has become a national disgrace," he said telling the
Senate, "You have replaced advise and consent with search and destroy."
Kavanaugh said the tenor of the hearings could have consequences long beyond his own nomination,
with good people unwilling to accept government positions.
"You sowed the wind.
For decades to come, I fear the whole country will reap the whirlwind."
"But he stressed that he bore Blasey Ford personally no ill will, and became overcome
with emotion when talking about his 10-year-old daughter praying for her.
"The truth is that I have never sexually assaulted anyone – not in high school, not
in college, not ever.
Sexual assault is horrific….
I have never done that, to her or to anyone," he said, urging the committee to look at the
record of his life promoting the equality and dignity of women.
If confirmed, he says, he would be the first justice in history to have all women law clerks.
"That is who I am.
That is who I was."
"Watching history unfold "Members of the public who were eager to
watch history unfold had lined up as early as the night before, hoping to get a seat
in the room.
Those who did not get in started watching on their phones in the hall.
Many women wore teal-colored clothing, in reference to Anita Hill's outfit during
her testimony against then-Supreme Court nominee Clarence Thomas in 1991.
"Outside the entrance to the Dirksen building, a small group of about 40 listened quietly
as the hearing was blasted over a megaphone.
"Bill Huff, a software salesman from Atlanta, was in Washington taking his daughter on college
visits but pushed off their plans to try to attend the hearing.

Michael Avenatti is the lawyer best-known for representing Stormy Daniels, the porn star who allegedly had an affair with President Trump.
But Avenatti also represents Julie Swetnick, the third person to come forward with allegations about inappropriate behavior by Brett Kavanaugh.
On Friday, the Senate leadership agreed to postpone the confirmation vote on Kavanaugh for a week so that the FBI had time to investigate the charges against Kavanaugh.
A week is just a week — seven days isn't a long time for an investigation.
But by mid-morning on Saturday, Avenatti said that federal investigators still hadn't reached out to him about Swetnick's claims.
He wrote, "We have yet to hear from the FBI.
When and if we do, we will promptly disclose to them all information and witnesses in our possession.
We continue to request this opportunity as we have been doing for days.
My client is telling the truth and deserves to be heard and not shammed [sic].".
Avenatti Says He Can Bring Forward Witnesses to Confirm Swetnick's Story.
Julie Swetnick has signed a sworn statement saying that Kavanaugh helped to drug women during the 1980s so that they could be gang-raped at parties.
On Friday, Avenatti appeared at the Texas Tribune festival to talk about Swetnick's statement and about Kavanaugh's nomination.
He told the audience that he has several witnesses who can corroborate Swetnick's claims about Kavanaugh — and he vowed to bring forward those witnesses soon.
He said he expected to bring those witnesses forward within the next 72 hours.
Avenatti said, "We've been asking for an FBI investigation and for my client to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee, but the requests have been ignored.
I know the identities of witnesses Julie said could corroborate her story, and I'm going to bring them forward soon.".
The Senate vote on Kavanaugh's nomination will be delayed for a week while the FBI conducts an investigation into allegations against the Supreme Court nominee.
But it wasn't immediately clear whether the FBI will investigate all the charges against Kavanaugh — including the accusations made by Julie Swetnick and Debbie Ramirez – or whether the investigation will be restricted to the allegations made by Christine Ford, who says that Kavanaugh assaulted her when they were both in high school.

Beto embodies what is special about Texas, an energy and an integrity that is completely genuine.".
Before tonight's rally, Beto O'Rourke will be speaking at a different event: the 2018 Texas Tribune Festival.
He will be speaking at the festival at 7 p.m.
